Alrighty, so today we are looking at Genesis 47. And so at Genesis chapter 47, we're noticing that there is a core theme, and it's how God uses his uncomfortable seasons in our lives to position his people for provision, preservation, and purpose. So we can in pocket look at this as being positioned in the pressure. Keep that in mind. Positioned in the pressure. So when we look at verses one through six, uh you're it says of what seven, it says, Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, My father and my brothers are indeed in the land of Goshen. The land of Egypt is before you have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land. Pause right there. Those are this part of uh one and six as well. Um so I'm gonna be kind of chiming in certain key scriptures as I flow through it, so just keep that in mind. But the overall bullet points is coming from one through six when we think of how favor and how it will actually make room for you. So when we look at the person who is being introduced to you, it actually matters. When when we see how you are presented inside of the scripture, it matters because we are able to recognize that God will use not just one person and let that favor be for them, but he will use that person's favor to bless a whole family. So ultimately, your gift can open doors in unfamiliar environments, just as the land of Egypt is before you, have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land. So it's like it's not just for you, it's not just for, it wasn't just for Joseph. His blessing was a blessing to be unto others. Um, when we look at even verses let's say seven and nine, um, this is all out of NKJV, it pinpoints how we don't need to, let's say, negate the season that we're in or downplay the season that we're in. Because when we look at um seven and nine, it says, Then Joseph brought in his father, Jacob, and set him before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh. When we look at the verse nine, it says, Then the days of the years of my pilgrimage are 130 years. Few and evil have been the days. So you can be in a place of favor and still have a story of struggle. And oftentimes we think that when we're in a moment of struggle, that God's favor is no longer there. But that's not true. And being transparency, being in transparency, it's like it doesn't cancel out the authority that you have in that time, in that season, knowing that you can declare the things that are to be, if that's the favor, if that is the um, if I were to take even from what Pharaoh have set before, um, as as as uh Joseph has said, uh then Joseph brought in his father, Jacob, and set before him Pharaoh. So uh, and then Jacob blessed Pharaoh. There we go. Um, and even with that, it didn't negate the authority that they knew they had, even in the presence of imagine Pharaoh and quote unquote their gods. Uh your pain doesn't disqualify your purpose overall, despite what Joseph could have been feeling during those times, it ultimately gave validation to his voice. And it can for us in the same way. So even if Jacob is in a foreign land, Jacob carries that spiritual authority. And that's the connection I was looking to say before moving on. Um, but God will provide even in the famine, as we can see um in the latter scriptures where uh it says, and Joseph situated his father and his brothers, and it was saying in the best of the land. Then Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father's household with bread. So the provision was already there, and it was given to them, and it wasn't random, it was positioned. When we look at how God doesn't just bring you out of a situation, but he sustains you in it, it brings a whole new revelation and perspective when you are going through things, when you are in a situation, when you are in a famine or in a season. So obedience still in one season becomes provision in another. So what do you have to do now for your obedience to take place for later in another season it to turn into provision? Because your preparation in a season will feed more than just yourself. In other words, retrieves a blessing not just for self but for others as well. Continue to read in 13. It says, Well, I'm gonna say this uh first. If we're looking at when we do continue on to 13, and um, as it talks about in 20 and just 13 through 22, those sections, it shows that a crisis reveals who has wisdom and that godly strategy can sustain the entire system. So we can easily pocket it to say that the wisdom and crisis, it actually can still create influence. So it wasn't just something light, it was an actual crisis. But it said, Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh. There was already an uh entire system or strategy, a God-given strategy in place. So, as I said, Golly's strategy can sustain entire systems. When we look at the wisdom that was revealed in it as well, um that leads to that same point. How uh I've already mentioned that crisis can reveal who has wisdom and it's ultimately God. But God imparted it into Joseph. Joseph didn't panic, he planned. He didn't panic, he actually planned. So, in that same sense, you know, we can pray for miracles, but instead of just praying for miracles, we can actually ask God for the method. We can see how we can go out to do a thing. Because the miracles mean, hey, our hands is off of it. You know, God does a thing. Thank you, God, for stepping in. Um, the method is like, hey, God, how is this supposed to happen? How are we supposed to take action? In other words, the method is okay to be placed in position over here in this land. The method is to actually allow the system to work for us, to plan and prepare is ultimately the method. And God provides the miracles in our actions. Um, as we all know, the faith without works is dead. Um but that action takes place um without me going on to a tangent. Um, let me continue on to verses 23. Um, and and it's just parts that stick out where um it says Joseph said to the people, and I, and one of the things he said was, I have bought you and your land. And later, where he says, Here is seed for you. He he specified what land was purchased and how he acquired it. In other words, almost like going with the method, but he was able to say this to the people and said, Here is seed for you still. So uh verse 20 is a phrase I was looking for. Uh 24, sorry. Uh, and it shall come to pass in the harvest that you shall give one fifth to Pharaoh. So there was still something in place, even in the land that he was in, is everything ultimately belongs to God, and we manage it. Um, and a proper structure that he was putting into place, it helped to bring stability. Even though it was inside of the land of Pharaoh and things like that, we don't see uh Joseph trying to overrule and step out of bounds. It wasn't a time to try to overthrow or things like that. It was, hey, let me add a proper structure that's gonna bring stability. And ultimately, people will follow leadership that produces results. And in doing so, we know Joseph, and this is even practical for ourselves, and how we need to be, we need to steward it well, steward what is given to us well, because the stewardship is a kingdom principle. When we look at bringing it down to uh in and a close, verse 27 says this it says, So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen, and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly. So they went into a foreign place and there was still growth there. That means your environment doesn't control your outcome. God does. You can thrive in a place that wasn't your original plan, but God's gonna be able to increase you there. Growth is simply proof of how God's hand is not always gonna look like the perfect conditions, but his hand is always still moving. When we look at the latter verses, um, they mentioned things like um how Jacob lived in the land of Egypt for like 17 years, and um there was a moment where he didn't want to be buried in Egypt. Um, but he was like, Let me lie with my fathers, and ultimately that is his wish, and that is his placement. But he still didn't finish with fear, he finished with faith. So, in the same sense, he did not get comfortable in temporary places, and neither should we. Uh, we should never forget God's promise while living in provision, living in provision to emphasize. And so you finish your life aligned with God's word, ultimately, not your surroundings and quote unquote product of the environment. But faith looks beyond your current location, current circumstances. And um, I'll end with this that when we look at Goshen uh mentality, uh, well, let me say Egypt first, the Egypt mentality will equal systems and the pressure and famine, but a Goshen mentality would equal to covering uh provision and promise. And so the contrast, you have the same land but different experience, the same famine, but a different outcome. So ultimately the same season, but a different positioning. So simply put, God didn't remove the famine, he positioned his people within it. The question isn't Is there a famine? The question is, where has God positioned you to be? And on that note, I conclude.
