This morning I had the pleasure of talking about Exodus chapter three. Exodus chapter three is the part of the Bible where Moses is minding his own business, doing his own thing, but God turns a very ordinary moment to an extraordinary moment. We see that Moses, the chapter starts off. Moses is talking, he's out there tending to the sheep of father and his father-in-law Jethro. And this time he goes to the Sinai, which is now the mountain of God. Sinai plays a very big role in the history of the Jewish people. And we see we saw it once or twice in Moses, Aaron, not Aaron, I'm sorry, in Abraham, and the patriarchs on down. Now we see it in Moses. So Moses is there, and we see something that is interesting, particularly in verse 2. Um, it says, An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement, though the bush was a gulf and flaked, it didn't burn up. It's interesting. Moses had an experience where he sees an angel in a burning bush, but think about it. Burning bushes wasn't necessarily uncommon in those days, and in that particular climate. So I don't, I'm not honestly totally sure he saw the angel. And so what happened was Moses, like, you know what, it's on fire, but it's not being burnt. I'm gonna go see why it's not doing that. And so as he went closer, that's when God speaks to him. So let's let's back up. Moses is doing something very common. We know this is after he's settled down, he's gotten married now. So he's a different guy than the guy who left the first time. It's still in him, but he's settling down. I mean, a lot of times we leave places or situations under duress. Oh my gosh, they were after me. Oh, I was in a relationship. It was a toxic, I had to get out of this work environment. Was this, that, and the third. And God allows seasons of settling and restoration and re-regulation, right? But it's interesting because we can get so tied up in what our new routines are, that we almost forget that God still has a plan and his hand is still upon you. I think Moses was quite similar. Moses was when he got no justice to his routine and he's doing this thing. Now he's a shepherd, blah, blah, blah. But he's still literally a prince of Egypt. He still has royalty. He's still a Levi. He still has all that in him, but he's a little bit older, a little bit wiser. But God is like, okay, now it's time. All I was thinking about as I was preparing for this is God wants to take our routine, our quote unquote mundane moments, and turn them into extraordinary visitations. My friends in the recovery community, they keep saying all the time, just keep doing the next right thing. The next right thing. The next right thing. Moses kept showing up. He kept doing what he had in front of him, his hands do at that particular moment. And on this day, I can't promise when your this day is. Some of us, your this day is already passed. God's already spoken to you. He's giving you instructions, giving you what to do. But it didn't come in a mighty voice from heaven. It didn't come, but it was honestly just you and him. Because most of the backside of the mountain were nothing but sheep. I appreciate how God does that. Where he has an encounter where it's like just you and him. Then he invites you, he encourages you, okay. This message, this moment, take it back to them. And so Moses, after God speaks, so he ignored the angel. But after the guy, after God spoke, he was like, Oh, okay, he heard, he heard, he heard. Then he responds to the voice of God. God tells him this is holy ground. God introduced himself to Moses. And then we continue. God commissions Moses. He commissioned, he calls and commissions Moses almost at the same time. It's like I have seen oppression my people, heard their cries. It's time to go and respond. Moses, like, who am I? Really, think about that whole statement. Who are you? You were raised in Pharaoh's palace. Who are you not? Now we understand you left under rest. We understand how it ended, but you gotta understand how it was until that particular moment. You're the perfect candidate for it. You you were raised as Pharaoh's child. You can speak that language, you know what's going on. This is how a lot of times we we disqualify what we have seen, what we have done. Yes, you had a moment, but come on. Anyway, let's keep going. But then he said, Moses, if I go before the people and tell them, the God of your ancestors has sent me to you. They will ask me, What's his name? What should I tell him? I am that I am. Say this, I am. What he's giving, what he's giving Moses now is his name, his onoma, his authority. In the name, something that we have in coming with Moses now. In the name of Jesus, we talk to God. In the name of Jesus, we pray. That's why we in our prayer name of Jesus for any authority. That means I'm asking all this, not because I'm worthy or because I'm somebody special, but because I have a covenant by the blood of Jesus, because the blood of Jesus, everything I'm asking you for, can be granted. Then you take this further. You take the name and you go forward, you go forward, you go forward, you go forward. And Moses is following a similar pattern that God has called each and every one of us too at the same time. Each and every one of us too. And then he gives them the next steps. See, God doesn't always give you the whole picture, but he gave Moses a pretty big part of this picture. How it's gonna end in the first steps. Okay, okay, okay. What's the lookout for? So the challenge is this in your seemingly mundane moments, routine moments. What do you mean? We challenge you to read and pray at least twice a day. That's why we have prayer calls twice a day. In your moments where you're preparing, where you're praying, where you're just doing the next right thing and what's in front of you, going throughout your routine. Do not overlook how God can turn a mundane, seemingly mundane, seemingly routine moment into a momentous, life-altering, history-altering moment. Not that we're going out there looking, oh, ooh, no, we're just doing the next right thing. We just showing up, being faithful over the little things. Your task, your job, your family, wherever you're doing, showing up, being available to God because He still is speaking, He's still reaching out, He's still calling. But the question is, will we like Moses be available? Also, let's be a little slightly different to Moses. Let's not ignore the angelics either. Moses, okay, there's an angel in the bush burning. Okay, well, the bush is burning. It wasn't until God called that he responded. Let us be people that honor the angelic support as well. And with that, I'm gonna pause right there. Routine moments made special. He still wants to do that in each and every one of our lives. So as you go, once again, look for it. That's still a small voice at speaking. That's all I got.
