Welcome to this weeks' episode of the WaterBros Podcast! This is our first ever podcast without Ben but still going to be a great one for you. We have our friend Jeff on, who is a big Browns fan. We can't thank him enough for being on! We dive into the Browns fandom and hear his takes on the QB race, the Myles Garrett trade, and get a way to early prediction on Browns wins and a Superbowl champion pick.

Come join us on the bench! Like, subscribe, review, and send this to a friend! Let us know what team fandom we should interview next!

SPEAKER_00

What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Water Bros Podcast. This is your host, Zach. My little brother Ben is out, but I am joined by the representative, at least in my friend group of the Dog Pound. We got Jeff coming on. We're going to be talking all things Cleveland Browns and his fandom. Um, so grab a drink, come to the bench, and welcome Jeff to the podcast. What's up, dude? How you doing?

SPEAKER_01

Super excited to be here. Been waiting for this invitation a long time.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I mean, uh, those that that don't know, Jeff's kind of uh we only have Jeff's. All right my dad, Jeff. Now you, Jeff. Um, but you you're kind of an honorary member. You've been in the behind the scenes more than people know. So I'm just excited you're finally on here with us, dude.

SPEAKER_01

It's an honor to be here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm super excited. We'll have to excuse Ben. Obviously, he's uh just wasn't able to do a recording this week, so it's just you and me hanging out. But we're gonna dive in. We're not gonna change it too much. We're gonna fill the jug starting out. Uh for those listening for the first time, that's when we just talk about what is getting us full, what's making us feel good. Uh, and then we're gonna do uh some high quality H2O. Uh we'll each have one of those for us. And then we're gonna bring back a segment, Quick Sips, which was originally Ben throwing out stats, but instead uh my my new take on quick sips when we're doing interviews, Jeff, is it's just me gonna be throwing questions at you. A little quick questions so we can get to know you and your fandom. And then uh we're gonna get into the Browns, the offseason, and we're gonna give you a chance to shoot your shot. You can talk about what you think the record's gonna be. We can get a little take on the QB race that's going on, like always, in Browns country, and then uh uh maybe a way too early Super Bowl prediction. So we'll it's gonna be a good time. But Jeff, why don't you kick it off? What's what's filling the jug for you today, dude?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, it's summer, so uh for me, filling the jug, family time. We had a family reunion with my dad's family a couple weeks ago, and then we were up last weekend in Bear Lake with my wife's family, and so just family time, summer activities, golfing. Uh, my brother-in-law's got this new bucket golf game, which has been a blast.

SPEAKER_00

Was that fun? I've seen that, it looks awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it it's a great game. Um, and it makes you feel good at golf.

SPEAKER_00

Whiffle ball chipping, right? It's like the big bucket.

SPEAKER_01

They're like little pop-up buckets and um yeah, it it makes you feel great at golf, and then you go out on the real golf course and get totally humbled. So it's great stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, that's all right. That's I mean, that is me. I live well above par. If it's not plus thirty, then I'm uh doing really well.

SPEAKER_01

That's you know hey, that's that's so everyone has to start somewhere, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Did you golf while you were in Bear Lake? Yeah, did golf while we're in Bear Lake. Um second time of the year, so uh a little rough. Triple bogey on the first hole did not start us out great, but hey, that's all right. We made recovery and shot below bogey golf, so all good.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, no, that's amazing. That's like I said, that's way better than double bogey golf is happy golf for me, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So that's that's good. Anytime on the golf course, it's it's a good way to ruin a good walk. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, uh I'll I'll take a bad day on the golf course over a good day at work or anything, any day. So we'll take that. No, I love that. That's always a good time. Can't wait. Lake day is always amazing. How did uh the little girly like being at the lake?

SPEAKER_01

Uh good. We didn't actually go down to the lake in Bear Lake, but when we were at the family reunion up at Pineview, we got her out on the surfboard. So uh little lady was out surfing safari. She got like one of those sun hats and she has a red wetsuit, and so she looks like Prospector Pete with her hat flipped up. It was awesome.

SPEAKER_00

I love it. No, that is amazing. I love that. Um for me, filling the jug today. We uh speaking of watertime summertime activities, we have put the kids in swimming lessons. They uh, for better or for worse, they have historically used puddle jumpers. We haven't done, we've done a couple classes with Drew um at like the recs, but we put them in goldfish swim. Shout out goldfish.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, yeah, right by my parents.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, right over there in Mill Creek. And it is the most fun thing to watch them do that. Like just the joy that you can see in their faces when they do something well and that their teacher praises them. There's small, intimate classes, like today. It was Drew and one other kid. Gwen was a solo class today, and so it's just so fun to just see them excited and thriving at something. So that's been filling the jug. Gwenny always calls it her summer activity. He's like, Do we get it, do we get to do summer today? And it's like, yeah, we get to do summer today.

SPEAKER_01

So that is summer though, as a kid. Are you kidding me? SM lessons the best.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's so much fun. And they're at the same time, so they're both in the pool, and Jay and I just get to enjoy it. So it's it's the best. But going uh right in, hopefully, everyone's getting a little filled the jug right now, enjoying the summer. We're heading into, I mean, 250th birthday of the U.S. So I mean it's just a good time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we're just just starting summer. We're just it's just a quick sip of summer right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, 100%. But Jeff, let's do uh some high quality H2O. What do you have for us? Do you have do you have a favor? I like it. There you go. There's your Sam man. Do you have uh do you have a highlight that you want to talk about?

SPEAKER_01

I do. So I don't know if you knew this, um, but for sure the listeners don't. My brother served his mission in Cape Verde. And uh probably no one on this podcast knew where Cape Verde was prior to this to yesterday when they played Spain in the World Cup, and that was the most electric tie I've ever experienced in my entire life. Absolute defensive battle from the Blue Sharks and uh tie Spain, who is projected to win the World Cup. Love to see the sportsmanship though by Spain afterwards. They uh their players were all very uh enthusiastic about um how well the the Blue Sharks held up, and um obviously they have a lot of confidence going into the rest of the World Cup, so not a ton to worry about, especially since it was a tie, not a loss. And so yeah, shout out them and then shout out Messi, who just tied the record for most World Cup goals like five minutes ago.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Messi all-timer, but I'm glad that you shout out Cape Verde because that really was one of the I mean, for someone who doesn't follow soccer all the time, right? So it's hard to comprehend. And we like I start to watch it if it's the World Cup, like we'll all catch some games. Yeah, exactly. I'm saying vote. Listening to to some of the commentary, like they're talking about Cape Verde upsetting Spain as maybe one of the greatest performances by an underdog in the World Cup ever. Like it is a big deal that they tied one of the favorites coming into this. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Biggest upset from a tie ever, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that's the thing too, right? It's just a draw, but still to topple the giant in that way and hold strong their goalie playing out of his mind, moving like crazy to just keep them alive in that draw, which is so funny. But eight million followers now. Yeah. And the first draw of the tournament.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Up to that point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. At least the first 0-0 draw. I think there was uh 1-1 draw. Yes, that was the first scoreless uh yeah, first scoreless game, but like you said, absolutely electric for being a scoreless game, which I love. And uh, I mean, I obviously have a soft spot in my heart for Espana, but I'm all on board the uh Team USA train as as we should be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But yeah, I saw today, speaking of that, that uh there's a chance Team USA and England meet in the knockout rounds on July 4th.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which how great will that be? That's gonna be incredible if that happens. That will be one of the best 4th of July's ever. For a chance for us to play England on our day of revolution. Like, that's that's gonna be too good. Well, that is the definition of high quality H2O. And uh I'm sorry, I feel like I'm rubbing my face a ton. I uh it's hitting me at this. I appreciate you courting late. I'm sure you're feeling that too. Yeah, it's all good. Um my high quality H2O today, we just have to touch on it. We're not gonna do a deep dive into this today because I feel like I I have to talk about this with Benny, but the performance by Brunson in that Knicks final to take the championship unbelievable. I mean, not only was the run incredible for the Knicks, to see them uh seal the deal after, I mean, decades, 53 years since they won the championship, obviously went in the 90s and lost to the Spurs last time they were there. Um, but to see Brunson, who's been constantly discredited and put on a lower bracket than the all-stars of the NBA, just make a statement and carry his team to that championship was pretty awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, every game was absolutely electric. Uh you had multiple double-digit comebacks, the biggest of all time in the finals. Uh it was an awesome series. And not to be a hater or take anything away from the Knicks, but you gotta say the Spurs were some maybe some low quality H2O to not be able to close out any games.

SPEAKER_00

The Spurs, I mean, obviously a a crazy collapse in that game uh four loss, where like you said, it was the biggest comeback that they uh that we've seen in a finals ever. That's it's pretty bad. Rough stuff. I mean uh it's kind of interesting to follow to like the Wembyama commentary. Like I I'm very high on Wembyama. I think he is Wemby's definitely the future of the NBA. He's gonna be a problem for years to come. We're I don't think that's the last time we see him, but it's been interesting to see the roller coaster of love. Totally that he's gone through where like his post I don't did you see his post-championship presser where he's like see y'all never and then like I just feel like that's not the move. Don't say that. Like, I don't know why you went that route. But I mean he's a young dude. Yeah, and it he'll he'll figure it out. But it's like see y'all never, that's what you're gonna say as you sign off to ride off into your loss. Like uh, yeah, just very interesting.

SPEAKER_01

But when we will be back. Yeah, and I I mean he's made himself certainly more polarizing, but uh no one's ever gonna be like MJ where he's kind of universally beloved by the word. Yeah, just everyone thought he's amazing, and he was. Um he's he may be more like LeBron, where he's a little bit more like loved by many, hated by many type of situation.

SPEAKER_00

And I think that's just the nature of fandom today. Yeah. Like I I think it's so hard to get someone who is just universally beloved. Like it there is just so much discord online, and you see so much more of these people and how they act, and every little thing they say that I think it's easier to become that polarizing figure. But needless to say, MBA ended with a bang. And the Knicks party looked incredible. So that that's my high quality H2O for today. That was pretty electric to watch. That's right, man.

SPEAKER_01

And uh can't wait to hear you and Ben talk more about that one because that's gonna be a good breakdown.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's uh I I want to get his take. He obviously picked Knicks in seven, so he thought Spurs would get a little more action. I was really hoping Spurs were gonna rally, but when they lost that fourth game, it just felt like uh it's it's a little too far out of reach.

SPEAKER_01

I was a little bummed it didn't go to six, I gotta be honest. It would have been fun to win in MSG.

SPEAKER_00

That's I think that's my one complaint. Because I either team winning, that's alright with me. I wish they would have won in MSG. That would have been pretty crazy. Did you see the guy who did the uh projector watch party in New York? That's awesome. So he's just yeah, he's just a random dude, projected it onto the side of a building that he lives across from, and it turned into like the biggest watch party, just in the street, a bunch of people hanging out on their balconies, on the roads, watching this giant projector as the Knicks go on to win, which is pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you love when the community gets together like that, and just kind of random, like not organized.

SPEAKER_00

And especially for the Knicks when like the true Knicks fans, and I think you can sympathize with this, and we're gonna get into it in a second, but I mean they've been through it for a long time where they just haven't been they haven't been there. And I mean, we as a jazz fan, we can feel like we haven't been there for a long time either, and have never never have won one as the jazz. So to see that with the Knicks is pretty sweet. Yeah. Gives you hope. But dude, let's dive into some quick sips. Really the the fan highlight, the reason why I wanted to have you on is to to dive into who Jeff is as a fan and a fanatic about football. Um, so first question, hopefully a softball. Who are your teams, Jeff? You're repping one already, but who who's the teams? Who are we charging?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, maybe I should have worn the University of Utah hat to uh to compliment the the Browns shirt, but definitely the Cleveland Browns, first and foremost. Um that's sort of a recent development. Uh in 2016, I picked up the Guardians um as my team when they were facing off against the Cubs in the World Series, and my sister that same year decided she wanted to cheer for the worst team in football. So we both clicked picked Cleveland teams. We've been to several games. We try and go to a game every year now. Um have have really fallen in love with the NFL, what the product that they put out. Um, but I grew up a Ute, and I will always be a Ute uh through and through. Um loved to see Spencer Fono come to the Browns. That is kind of a world's colliding situation. Yeah. Um, so those are probably my two biggest teams. Obviously, now the Guardians. They were the Indians, now the Guardians. Um, I follow them. I don't watch a ton of baseball until the World Series and the playoffs, but follow them pretty closely, just kind of their record, see if we're gonna make the playoffs. Uh Utah Jazz, got a cheer for the hometown, hometown boys. Yeah. And the and now the mammoth. The mammoth, Utah Mammoth, 100%. Uh fun to see them go to the playoffs, and hopefully there's a lot more of that in our future because the Stanley Cup is electric. Um it's the best. And then, of course, Team USA, and I serve my mission in Australia, so also go Socceroos, except this Friday.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say, how are you feeling about the matchup this week with that world?

SPEAKER_01

Well, there's a total question who I'm who I'm cheering for, but uh but I do like to see the soccer roos do do well.

SPEAKER_00

And let's talk about how fun a name of is Socceroos.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, there's some great names.

SPEAKER_00

What's so funny is that whenever I think of Aussies as a I think of like pretty tough people, just in general. Like that's my mentality for Australians, but socceros is just cute, like whimsical, it's very whimsical, it is not intimidating. We're gonna go play the soccer roos. It sounds like something my son would name his team. Yeah, absolutely. It just cracks me up, too funny. But that's interesting. I did not know that it started with the Guardians for you. I thought that's very interesting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so um just kind of overlapped. And actually, I wasn't really even a Cleveland Browns fan until 2021, I believe. Um we were gonna go back, my sister and I, in September and watch a Guardians game and a Browns game on the same weekend. And unfortunately, we booked our tickets and it was the same weekend as my grandma's 80th birthday, so we had to cancel. But we went in December and went to the Browns game. And being in that stadium with the hometown fans is the best.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, a December dog pound, too.

SPEAKER_01

Like and you're like shivering, people are out there in the cold. It'll be a different experience. I'm excited to go when we go to the new stadium in the inside, because that's nice. But uh there is something about those cold town fans. I mean, you know about it, Ben knows about it. Uh December in in Boston, December in Philly, they're no joke.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's different. I mean, I feel like you listen to a lot of the guys, they talk about how football is at its best when it's played in the elements. And I think there's something to that with the fandom, too, just also beating you down while it's cold, the elements, like there's just you gotta be really dedicated to be at a game when it is freezing cold temperatures and snow or raining, or that's a a different ball game.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. Lambeau and Soldier Field famous for those weather games, and so hopefully that we keep some outdoor stadiums in the north because it's just isn't football in December if there's not snow on the field.

SPEAKER_00

100%. And uh, it is sad we are gonna see probably less and less of that as these big stadiums get rebuilt. But those that keep the open lid, I appreciate that. Yeah, Buffalo isn't their building with an open lid, right? Yeah, their brand new one is still gonna be open. It'll be, I think, a little more protective to the fans.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And a little more wind protective. Like they they'll have technology to help make it so the wind doesn't play as big of a factor in the stadium itself. So hopefully they don't have all of uh Buffalo trying to shovel out seats before a game. Yeah, exactly. The field itself will be exposed, which will still be cool. So Browns are the chosen team. Now, obviously, you like you just said, you chose it because your sister got into it. What what really was it really the game that solidified that fandom, and now you're just that is what it is, you're committed for life. I mean, because like you said, Browns are historically kind of bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, and I love an underdog, don't get me wrong. Love cheering for Cape Faird. Um, obviously, there everyone loves an underdog. Um, but yeah, going to the game was awesome. Watching Miles Garrett in person, kind of the seasons back at the start, uh, and last season. I mean, Miles Garrett may be the guy who kind of won me to the Browns. Now he's gone, and we'll talk about that later. But um, watching him in person is just insane. He's like a freak.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, just a specimen. Like he is a extreme athlete. Yeah, just crazy. Unbelievable. So let's let's talk about that then. If Miles Garrett brings you in, um I guess a two-part question. One, in your history so far with the Browns, what is your most painful Browns memory? And as a fan, and then two, what is your highest high of Browns memories? What's your favorite Browns memory so far?

SPEAKER_01

That's an excellent question. The first one is pretty easy. Uh, gotta be the Deshaun Watson trade. I'm certainly not as like sour as I think a lot of fans are anymore, but when that kind of went down, and then kind of the aftermath for years of just like injury, when people were booing him and everyone's like, ah, you shouldn't do that. I was like, but you're not a Browns fan. Like, you don't understand what we've been doing. You don't understand, yeah. Um, and you have the the uh jerseys with like the 30 whatever quarterbacks that we've had, and the list just keeps getting longer. And uh again, we'll talk about this in the future, but Brandon Soresby might be added to that list of the biggest.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's just yeah. And I think all a ton of it stemmed from Deshaun Watson and that Baker Mayfield kind of saga with Kevin Stevansky. So I would say that's definitely the low point, like seeing him go out there and get into. Again, and just knowing like we mortgaged our whole future for this guy.

SPEAKER_00

And yeah, it's with that deal that was made with how much he was being paid to really not see any of those fruits.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Pretty brutal. Pretty much zero fruits. I mean, we'll see this year. He has has one last Swan song. I don't think we're gonna re-sign him unless he is takes us to the Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_00

Like just completely insane play.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think that's probably fair. I think they may say it's time to move on for the sake of our fans. Um, highlight of Browns fandom is actually uh, I mean, the sack record last year was unbelievable watching Miles just go out and do that with some. That's a good one. Um, but the real highlight was two years ago we went to the game against the Broncos at Mile High when uh we had oh my gosh, I just lost his name. Jameis Winston. We had Jameis Winston at QB, and he threw for like 480 yards of passing. And 80-yard pick sixes, and then that presser after race that I'm just praying that the Lord did deliver me from the physical.

SPEAKER_00

It delivers me from these pick sixes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's so good. Being at that game was just the best because it was like an absolute offensive craze. Like it ended up being like both teams scored in the 40s, I think. It was nuts. And so it was a blast. It was fun to be there with my dad and brother and sister and uh cheering them on, even though we lost. But that was, I mean, it was that was more offense than we've probably seen since then.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and to see Jameis go off. I mean, Jameis is just an unbelievable talent. Whether or not he's the starting QB talent, he's just a great talent of a person. Yes. I love anything Jameis does.

SPEAKER_01

And the most uplifting dude. I was saying he needs to go be uh be in the Raiders QB room. That would be the most wholesome QB room of all time with Mendoza cousins and Winston. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What a trio that would be. And uh, I'm just glad to see like Jameis is covering some of the World Cup right now.

SPEAKER_01

So I mean, I'm love I'm loving that. Out there cleaning up the stands with the Japanese fans, along with the Japanese fans, which crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, what a culture difference that is, right? To have uh these Japanese fans keep into their tradition where after their games they're cleaning up the stadium. Yeah, you love it. Different ball game compared to we Americans, how we treat stadiums. Most of us are leaving garbage on purpose. But yeah, he's like, they have someone to take care of that. Yeah. So we could probably learn a thing or two from these fans. Yeah, just a little bit. But no, I mean that's what a great memory. Uh there's nothing better than being live and in person, but to see, yeah, just your team go off. I mean that's hard to beat. It was pretty awesome. I love it. So I think you answered this a little bit already. But if you could speculate into the future, which is gonna go down as the bigger fumble from the front office as for the Browns? The Baker Mayfield trade with Deshaun or the Miles Garrett trade to the Rams.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I don't think that the Miles Garrett trade will go down as a fumble. I think what we got out of it is pretty good. I mean, ESPN graded us as an A in that trade, and I think just where we're at, now certainly we are trading a generational talent who probably has three or four or five years left um of just absolute dominance in the trenches.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, perennial pro bowler. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And Depoys deservedly, deservedly so. Just and and the best. Like he was so fun to watch. Um, but I think it would just wasn't gonna be a good fit long term. We're not gonna win a Super Bowl this year. I'm just gonna unfortunately I'll give you a little sneak peek.

SPEAKER_00

It's not gonna be the Browns for your two early pick.

SPEAKER_01

Not gonna be the Browns for my two early pick. Um, but I do think that what we got in return for him with a great, like a tried and tested first rounder, um, was big. And then also getting another first round and a second and third round pick. I know everyone wanted three first rounds, but we got a tried and true first rounder, and I think that that was big. So I think that one ultimately, uh as a fan, I feel like that one was a huge win. Um, just because Miles was Miles wasn't happy here. Um and I say here as if I'm in Cleveland, I'm sitting in Salt Lake, but uh Miles wasn't happy at the Browns, and that's fine. He wants to win championships, and we're just not on his timeline anymore. I think that Deshaun Watson is the fumble. And if you look at the fumble, that ultimately caused this trade. That like you can draw a direct line to it where we were in Super Bowl window one for the last five years, six years, and that was when Miles was at his best. We missed that Super Bowl window because we didn't have a QB for that entire time.

SPEAKER_00

So because I mean you guys went 10 wins, right, with Baker and went to the playoffs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's brutal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I think that one is undeniable. If that one doesn't go down as the bigger fumble, I will be absolutely floored. That would take like Jared Verse just absolutely falling off a cliff and us not getting a pick next year, or I mean, if we in the supplemental draft decide to say, let's send it on a round one pick, then of course that's gonna go down as a fumble. But uh, but yeah, I think I think that one's definitely Deshaun is the bigger fumble, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, no, I like to hear that because I I agree. I mean, for me from looking on the outside, obviously you hate to see any time your team gives up a Miles Garrett, but in reality, if you can bolster your team for the long term, and I think Jared Versus is a dog. I mean, anytime the Eagles play the Rams, they're they're kind of one of the big challenges for us in any time we get into the postseason, it seems like the Rams are gonna be one of the tougher battles that the Eagles have to face. And so and Jared Verse is part of that. So I think you get a great player in Jared Verse, and if they can hopefully capitalize with some good picks like they did this year in their draft, and I thought they they absolutely knocked out of the park. I mean, you might you might hopefully be back on a upward trajectory fingers crossed.

SPEAKER_01

We're a year or two away, but uh, like you said, Jared Verse still on his rookie contract and absolutely be part of that kind of rebuild and um got a ton of rookies, and uh so yeah, I think it was a win all around. And yeah, like you said, you don't like to see players like that leave, but uh at the same time, you want them to be successful, and I will say I don't think that the path to the Super Bowl got any easier for the Eagles with that trade.

SPEAKER_00

No, definitely not. No, it did not. I mean, the Rams are fully loaded, I'll just say, and uh they're looking very scary. So my last quick sips, and then we'll dive even deeper into a lot of this offseason stuff that we're already talking about. Um but if you had 30 seconds to talk to the front office with the Browns as a fan, what would you want to say?

SPEAKER_02

That's a tough one. 30 seconds goes fast. Uh very fast.

SPEAKER_01

Give me a second to think. Let's see. I think the first thing would be stop swinging for the fences on like you gotta figure out a system like the Green Bay Packers, where they bring in their next QB and kind of like cycle through. Give yourself some some breathing room on these QBs, don't try and just jump from one to the next. And then the other thing would be play for the windows. Like, don't don't try and be good all the time. Cleveland's just not a market where that's gonna happen. Play to be good for a while, then rebuild. And and uh I think they've done a better job of that with Andrew Berry. I've been pretty impressed with what he's done. His drafting since uh we had the Haslem step back a little bit has been good. So that would probably be my two things is like let's let's get into a rhythm. Like the Steelers.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like that's very married together, right? What you're saying, those two things. Play for the windows, but get your QB plan lined out so that you can have a window. The problem is you can't find a window right now because it's it's constant QB roulette. Um and I think that's a good perfect segue, Jeff, into this offseason talk. Obviously, we got training camps starting up uh for all the teams, but Browns training camp especially has been interesting for for y'all because of the QB race that again we're having last year. I always gave I gave you crap because it seemed like the Browns were collecting QBs like they were Infinity Stones. And we're in a similar boat again, where you have a pretty full QB room, a very young QB room. Um, but right now, obviously, you have Deshaun and Shador leading out. Talk to me a little bit. What are your feelings on that QB race? How do you feel about Shador? Obviously, Deshaun right now is listed as the leading favorite. He's listed as the starter. How do you think that plays out this year?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I think that that's maybe a little bit misleading that Deshaun is leading out right now. Um, he definitely coming out of the first minicamp was leading. And that's what all the reporters, all the podcasts I listened to, everyone said Deshaun looks like he's ready to hit the crown running. Then we had OTAs, and for the first week, they the reporters only go to one practice. And so for the first week, they were like, oh, it was all Deshaun. He was awesome. Second week, it was still all Deshaun with the first team, but he didn't look quite as good. And then the third week, it was all Shadur and he looked awesome. And so people were like, Well, maybe we're getting a pivot, but we have no idea. So we'll get to minicamp, which was last week. And they got to minicamp and Shadur started the first day. He took all the first team reps the whole day, and they said he looked amazing, looked awesome. Um, now obviously this still isn't training camp. This isn't preseason games, so they're not uh not fully contact or no full contact or anything like that. So there's still uh an asterisk, of course, but I think that Deshaun started out way ahead. And Shadur has uh I mean, he's a dog, he he definitely is his father's son, and he wanted to come back and kind of prove something, I think, to the coaching staff, to himself. Um, and he's put in the work. It's uh it seems like he's uh Todd Munkin, our nuke head coach, said before any of this went down, I want to have my decision made by the end of minicamp so that we have six weeks just continuity into the future. And he has no idea who he's gonna pick. He said, we have two starting QBs, and I think that if I'm a Browns fan looking ahead, I tend to agree with the locked on Browns guy that I want to she see Shadur because we want to see what we have. There's no real reason to play Deshaun if Shadur is kind of close. Now, if Deshaun's the better QB, you kind of have to go that way. But uh those are those are kind of my thoughts so far. I do think that Shadur gives us the better chance like long term. And if we can, if he does prove that he can be a franchise QB, we have boatloads of draft capital in the next couple years. We can just stack the stack the team around him. And I think that there's uh Lance Rislin, who comes on a lot of the Browns podcasts that I listen to, he says it best. I think there are QBs that you win because of, and that's like, you know, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar. Um, and there's QBs you win with, and that's more like a Jordan Love um or even Jalen Hurts on your team. Where's Yeah, I think that's the sentiment generally, right? Yeah, he's not the guy who's you you're like saying this is just on your shoulders, but you're saying he's not gonna lose us the game either. It's not gonna be his fault. That's that's where Browns have been, is we've just had QBs that you are not going to win with. And so they're just gonna sell the game. Yeah. Yeah. So I think I think Schadur is probably the where I would lean based on everything I'm hearing. Obviously, I'm not watching any of these practices, so I don't have any idea. But and I think Todd Munkin has done an excellent job from what I hear. I loved that he didn't just start um all the rookies, and he seems like he's super intense, just loves ball. And so I'm excited to see him. A lot of more exciting offense, um, less of a system offense, more of like a build for the QB offense. So I think it'll be good.

SPEAKER_00

And that was gonna be one of my questions is how are you feeling about Todd Munkin? But just from listening to you break that down, I really love that he's gonna have a clear decision. Like, I think that does a lot for both fandom and for the team. Like, hey, we will pick and name a QB. Um, if, for example, they name Deshaun, do you think because Shador already started last year, do you think that benefit of him not having the pressure to fully go out and perform, to have some time to learn, do you think that's just past? You think there's still something he could learn from Deshaun if they give him six weeks?

SPEAKER_01

Or I think I think he's right there, uh, regardless. Whether he plays or he doesn't, I think he's kind of a sponge. I think Shadur's kind of the player does more by doing, based on what I've seen. But I do think he is, he's wants it to be a team, everything he says to the media is right now. Like he is not kind of that petty young kid that he was last year with the Dylan Gabriel questions and not speaking to reporters at practice, like mouthing words and stuff. I think uh he's doing more of what he needs to to be a team player and really build towards the future. And so I think from that perspective, if he does sit, if Deshaun is the guy, um we'll be in we'll be I he'll still be in good shape to to learn and continue. I think there's plenty he still has to to learn.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, and I think that's critical too, like what you're just saying, that he's trying to be more of a team player, listening to the lockdown Browns breakdown of their mini-camp performance today as I was preparing for this. Um one of the things they highlighted was his leadership that Shador is being a leader out on the field in the locker room with the guys, and I think that's a big step forward too. That he doesn't come off as just a cocky, arrogant, I deserve this because of who I am situation, but like, hey, I'm gonna work for this and we're gonna get there together, kind of a thing. Um I like I like the moxie that Shador brings. I from an outsider and not really being really tied or close to the whole Deshaun Watson situation, I would like to see Shador. Like, I think he's good for football just because of the Moxie he carries himself with and and what he does. And I think it'd be cool to see him succeed a little bit more in the NFL.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he just has that kind of magnetic personality, I think, that uh because of who his dad was, because of all the crazy stuff that happened at Colorado and Travis Hunter and all the news there, and kind of fans love him or hate him. You get kind of this interesting dynamic where like he has a pass blocked at practice yesterday, and the clip of it has 6.7 million views, and people are just like freaking out about it. It's just like that's crazy that he can bring that kind of energy to a Brown's minicamp because I know for a fact there's not 6.7 million people who care about Brown's minicamp.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but they do care about Shadora as 100%. Like they care about the the hype around him. And that's a lot that I mean, that's a burden to carry too, just because of who he's associated with, who his dad is. Um I mean, you see Shiloh Sanders. I've I feel bad for him because I do feel like he just hasn't lived up to the hopes. Like he recognizes that it's not probably gonna be his path.

SPEAKER_01

But I think that too, just touching on that exact thought of like kind of the gravity that Shadur Sanders has from an attention standpoint, that that puts a really tough it puts Deshaun Watson in a really tough position. And I feel kind of bad for the guy because if he doesn't if he starts, people are gonna be pissed, regardless, just because of the Deshaun Watson trade and all that situation. But then two, they're gonna couple it, you're gonna couple with all these mega Shadur fans who just are pissed that it's not Shadur and they would be mad if they're booing Dylan Gabriel last year. And so it's like he's he's got a long road ahoe for sure if he if he wins the starting job. But if he does, good for him. I know Todd Munkin will pick him because he deserves it, if if that's the case.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, that is a good point. It it puts him in a very tough spot with the fandom because if he has one bad game, if he uh doesn't deliver, like he it's do or die, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_01

He he lives with his neck on the guillotine, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Constant, yeah, 100%. And that's NFL, baby. Um, I do want to comment. We obviously are not talking Dylan Gabriel this year at all. He's not really in the picture, but how much did you laugh with the whole Jared Verse number situation with Dylan Gabriel? Because I was dying. Oh, I haven't even heard about this. Have you not heard this? Okay, so it Jared Verse obviously traded with the Miles Garrett uh deal. He comes to Cleveland, he uh has always worn, I think it's number nine. Dylan Gabriel last year wore number nine. And so there's a snippet of them interviewing Dylan Gabriel where he's like, Yeah, I was really hoping he would kind of pay me for the number to like have the number. And Jared Verse, there's a snippet of Jared Verse where he's like, Yeah, I'm not paying for no number. I'm wearing number. He basically just showed up to practice one day wearing number nine, and it's just such an alpha. I'm taking what's mine. Like, what are you talking about, third string quarterback? I'm gonna wear my number. I was dying.

SPEAKER_01

That's so awesome. I feel so bad for the guy because um I was excited about him, but I will say if you're a lefty QB, you gotta you gotta really want it because you gotta really spin it. Yeah, your whole offense is having a flip and be all weird because like you're now your left tackle is your right tackle, and uh you're you just got so much headwind because there's not really an advantage to a lefty QB in the NFL. And so I think from that standpoint, he was had some headwinds. Uh then I mean, obviously the the size thing, and then just didn't perform he had to be awesome and he wasn't, and that's okay. But I don't know if he'll be on the team come come fall.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. It feels like one of those things where Dylan might not uh be sticking around as a as a third in the room. I I mean you have obviously it sounds like you have the one-two, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Uh and I can't remember his name right now, but we drafted a QB as well. That's the key Arkansas. That's that's maybe more of a specialist, super athletic kid, probably will be like short yardage type situation, but I think he's probably your third because you can get utility out of him that's somewhat unique, and so and the potential of Soresby, so you never know. Yes, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_00

Old old Gamblin' Soresby might be coming coming through. No, I hope Soresby's gotten the help that he needs, and he's no longer gambling Soresby. Yes, that'll be fascinating to see if the Browns bite on that. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

I would say uh as a fan, I hope they don't, but if they do, I hope it's not more than like a third or a fourth round pick. The the supplemental draft is such a weird deal.

SPEAKER_00

Um very much so, and they don't happen obviously very often.

SPEAKER_01

No, mighty confusing. I've watched like six videos trying to explain the the lottery and how that all works, and it's still confusing.

SPEAKER_00

Not straightforward process. I'm I'm in the same boat, but listening to Schefter, they on Pat McAfee today, they broke it down, and he expects that he would be a later round in the supplemental draft, just given the situation.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So they had someone else on there though that said second round easy, and so Oh really? I missed that. Yeah, it's the guy after two after Schefter, whatever. Interesting. Um I've seen online, I've seen all over the place where people are like, you shouldn't touch him before the fourth round. Then other people are like, I would be shocked if he doesn't go in the second. I think everyone would be shocked. I think it's consensus, no one is willing to spend a first round flyer on him. On him, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's just I mean, yeah, it's just risky. He obviously was the biggest talent going into trading uh the portal for college football. That ship has certainly sailed. I'm glad he's finally just accepted his journey to come play again in 2026 season was gonna be well fought despite his injunction. NCAA filed against him to stop it, Big Twelve filed against him to stop it. It's like Just I'm glad he decided to do what he's doing. Yes, I think that that was the wise decision for all of America and sports generally. Agreed. Agreed. But I would be remiss. I mean, we were talking potential supplemental draft, but y'all had a heck of a draft. Um, we taught you already mentioned a little bit you're getting Spencer Fono, uh, a Ute. We absolutely love Spencer Fono. Cannot wait to see what he does. Bolsters the line, which is only good news for the Browns fans. Yeah, big offseason for the line. 100%. And you also get the brother, Logan Fono, as an undrafted free agent. Um, he's coming. He'll be on the defensive side. Yeah. How are you feeling about the what did he get paid? I actually didn't see his deal.

SPEAKER_01

So he got $310,000 guaranteed money. So I think the Browns are pretty confident they're keeping him. And it sounds like they kind of didn't draft him in the seventh round so that they could pay him more. Like he's making more than a lot of seventh rounders. So I think uh it ended up being a great thing for Logan. Obviously, good great feel-good story, but you don't as the Browns, you don't pay a guy that much for the feel-good story. So it brings to me hope that they're gonna keep uh keep Logan. I think with the Miles Garrett trade, that actually probably helped Logan a little bit, just opening up some spots on the line. Obviously, we filled it back in with Jared Verse, but um I think that yeah, he may not be a three-down guy his uh his first season, but everyone uh that I've read on Logan Fanos just said he was an absolute steal of the draft for special teams, if nothing else. So I think uh we'll see plenty of Logan on the field. Obviously, Spencer is gonna be our starting left tackle, so excited to see him go out and represent and protect the Cuban.

SPEAKER_00

I'll be watching Browns way more often just to see Spencer.

SPEAKER_01

He was the best part of Utah football last year, him and Caleb Lomo. There's a reason they both went um in the first round, obviously, and that was just like the cherry on top to an epic Utah season. I mean, yeah, not exactly what we hoped for, but uh they were so fun. Just so fun guys to watch.

SPEAKER_00

And uh, I mean that old line was unbelievable. And uh, I really do think Spencer will be a guy for for y'all. I think he'll be a talent in the NFL. Um, and I'm excited to see him cut his chops this year. Um now on that, is there any other draft moves that you feel really strongly about that really bolstered the team?

SPEAKER_01

So obviously our wide receiver room was like the worst in the NFL last year. We sucked. We had our Harold Fannon, our tight our rookie tight end was like our leading receiver, which is never really the position you want to be in. Yeah. You want a wide receiver one. Yes. So uh Casey Concepcion sounds like he's been good panning out kind of like you'd expect from a first rounder. Denzel Boston sounds like he was the steel of the draft. He is by far and away the most talked-about draft pick rookie. Everyone's saying he's on track to be a bona fide starter. He's by far the best rookie, um, and that includes Spencer Fono. Everyone says Spencer Fano's looked good, but Denzel Boston, I'm super, super pumped about. Um, and then Emmanuel McNeil Warren, uh, in the in the defensive backfield, super excited about him. He's been injured, so there hasn't been a lot of practice how to finish. A lot of yeah, mini camp action from him. But uh listened to a podcast about him, and he sounds like a dog and just the best kind of guy.

SPEAKER_00

So do you know from mini camp is Boston gonna be playing on the outside, going kind of being your outside guy?

SPEAKER_01

It sounds like Boston will maybe be the outside guy. Isaiah Bond. So for those of you who don't know Brown's lore, we were gonna draft Isaiah Bond first or second round last year, and then he had all that off-field stuff where he got arrested and things, and so we picked him up as an undrafted free agent, but it was like in July or August, so he ended up kind of not going through training camp or a lot of the preseason games. Um, and so he was good last year, had a lot of deep balls, some sweet passes and some sweet catches rather from Shadur Sanders, but uh wasn't like outstanding. He has apparently just shocked everyone with how good he is. He's really expanded his route tree. So I think we may end up with him and Jerry Judy on the outside and Dunzel Boston as kind of like a go up and get it guy. Um but it I think that we have several a more dynamic wide receiver room for sure, though. Definitely more options. We have Harold Fannon, obviously, that's uh an outstanding tight end receiver. Um, and so yeah, we have some people who've been good for us in the past. Cedric Tillman, who's gonna be like fighting for a spot this year because we have so many, so many options of wide receivers. So definitely from that perspective, of just like, hey, we're gonna be able to generate some offense. And it sounds like um Quinchon Judkins has been outstanding. Uh, like they say he is moving like they can't believe in practice. And so I love it. Coming off a broken leg, that's something you love to hear. So I mean, yeah, that's all you could hope to hear. Yeah. So I think I think the Browns' offense will be a little bit more dynamic this year. I we have so many rookies, I can't say that we'll be like an offensive superpower, but we'll at least have some offense. We'll score more than 17 points in uh in a game, most games, I think. And then defensively, it sounds like there's maybe some worries at uh cornerback, kind of depth-wise, but uh and obviously you kind of have some things with Miles Garrett leaving and Grant Delpit and Denzel Ward getting older. So uh we'll see how that goes. But I think overall, super excited about the offense, just to have an offense.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I love to hear it because that's I mean, I I feel like generally, Jeff, you're giving off a pretty positive feeling that it things are moving in the right direction. Like you said, you're not expecting fireworks necessarily, but hopefully just going the right way. And I think that is a good segue into our last segment here. We're gonna shoot our shot. Given uh this feeling, given what the Browns have done in the offseason, these moves they've made to kind of make a more dynamic run. Right now, the Browns are set one, just for the folks, they are ranked as one of the easier schedules, uh schedules in the NFL. Just I mean, obviously they they finish low, so they get and one of the worst teams in the NFL, you tend to get a easier season the next time, but their over-under is set at six and a half wins. So if you are a betting man, what are you taking on six and a half wins for the Browns going into the 2026 season?

SPEAKER_01

So six and a half wins is a super interesting line because you've got a really overhauled conference. Um Steelers are just not gonna be as good. Ravens got a new head coach, the Bengals are just the Bangles, they kind of are what they are each year. Um, and so I think we steal a few games in our conference that maybe people didn't expect us to, and we've kind of been the punching bag in the conference for a while. Um funnily enough, we are not favored in a single game except two home games where neither odds is plus money. So even those games are like 50-50. Yeah, they're pick me. Yes. So uh I that does not recommend taking the over on six and a half games when you have zero games that you're favored in. Um, but I think I'm gonna take the the Browns on the over.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Over six and a half. Um I think we can steal a couple on the road. We have the Raiders at home um in November, which I think probably get that one. We'll see if the Colts kind of have a meltdown again this season, if they can kind of be trending downwards in December like they were last year, then that one in January I think looks good. So I think there's a good chance that we win. I think the ceiling is probably nine. I would say the floor, honestly, is probably five or six. So five. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So you're gonna be close to a push is what you're thinking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think if we can steal a couple, we have a really hard time um at Pittsburgh. Uh, but if we could steal that one, that would give us a a good push. And I think getting some getting some luck over the Bengals, that's thankfully this year we don't start against the Bengals because the Bengals are always the best, like the first three games of the season. So I think that helps us that we play the Bengals a couple times late in the season. So yeah, that's that's my guess. What about you?

SPEAKER_00

Where do you think it's well I think I'm just doing a quick look at the the schedule here, and if I if I were to pick, I mean you yeah, you have some some that could be still, so you got uh Brown Saints. I mean Saints will see what they do, but Saints are getting four and a half. Obviously, we'll see how that unfolds. Bengals you get late in the season. I think that at the at Bengals is late in the season, so that's I think one that you could take. I think I'm gonna be with you on the over, but I do want to do a quick little blitzpix with you, Jeff. Alright, let's do it. I'm gonna go with you on the over. I think y'all's preseason, obviously it's preseason, so you're not gonna start all the heavy hitters. It's a brutal preseason. Bears, Bills, Patriots, absolutely stacked preseason.

SPEAKER_01

Although the nice thing is all of those teams, except maybe the Bengals, are saying we're going to the playoffs, so they're not playing their starters either, probably.

SPEAKER_00

You'll get, yeah. I mean, you won't get hardly any. I mean, maybe against the Bears, you get a series or two. Yeah. You know, if that. Um, but I agree. It that'll be really rookie testing, kind of getting the waters acclimated. But real quick, Browns, Jaguars at Jaguars. Jags. Jags as well for me.

SPEAKER_02

Browns at Bucks. I'm going Bucks. I am also gonna go Bucks.

SPEAKER_00

So starting out two loss, two on the road to start in Florida is tough. It is tough. That is tough. And two teams that are tough, right? Jags really crushed this last year. Bucks, I they're always kind of in it.

SPEAKER_01

Um especially at the beginning of the season.

SPEAKER_00

Baker and yeah, like they're always kind of rolling. So um, yeah, I think that's a very tough start. Panthers at Browns, Panthers were looking a little better. I think you could steal that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's one I think at home. It's our first home game. Uh, we start six of nine on the road, and so having a game at home, having a win at home, I think that's important. I if the Browns don't win that one, then maybe the under is a better bet. So I think that one's probably I gotta go Browns because I took the over.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Steelers at Browns. I think this one is, I mean, Pitts favored, like you said, minus three, but I think that one is attainable.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's one I think we probably steal one there. Um, the Steelers are so untested, and so uh it it that may be a little bit of ugly football just because of what both teams are, but I think that's one we can get.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Steelers are very interesting right now with their whole shift and change, and it'll be interesting to see what they do. Um Browns at Jets, I'm going Browns. I think they take the Jets. Never bet on the Jets, unfortunately. They as good as as Jane says, their branding's the best, but it just stinks that they stink. Yeah. So hey, they but they may get the Brandon Source B sweepstakes, so you know. They might, they might. They need it. Ravens at Browns. I think that one's a tougher ask.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's one I think we'd probably drop at home.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I I think Ravens probably take that one at home. Browns at Titans. That's an interesting one. I feel like Titans are very roller coaster trending up, but I I do feel like it's kind of luck of the draw. Which Titans are you going to get?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Browns lost a bad one to the Titans last year, one we shouldn't have lost. So I'm taking the Browns to on revenge game.

SPEAKER_00

I like it. And I I do think that is it, that is a good pick. I think that is one that could be stolen. Browns at Steelers. I think Steelers it's hard to beat the a team twice. I think they probably keep it in the loudhouse.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know that the Browns have won many, if any, at the Steelers Stadium, so since 1999.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so we're at four wins so far. Four wins. Getting into November. So Browns at Saints, I think that was one that you could probably get. Saints are still kind of figuring it out. I mean, I like obviously I'm a big fan of their head coach. He came from Philly. Uh, but yeah. That one's one I would take the Saints.

SPEAKER_01

Are you taking Saints there? Okay. I'm a Shuck. I think I'm a believer. I'm a Shuck boy.

SPEAKER_00

So you're I know. Is that really what they call him? I don't know. Mia Kimes does. So I that's too funny. Shuck boy. That's like LFL. Totally. No, it's too funny. Uh Texans at Browns. I think Texans. Yeah, I think that one's not gonna go well for the Texans.

SPEAKER_01

Or for the Browns, rather.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Texans I think are tough. Raiders at Browns. Yeah. This one's the only one I like.

SPEAKER_01

The Browns. The Raiders. I I don't know that they completed as significant a rebuild as the Browns did.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that it is tough. I think they have talent. Raiders have talent, but it's a lot of unknowns right now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Starting a rookie QB or Kirk Cousins, I think the Browns probably have the edge a little bit just because of how well our draft picks it.

SPEAKER_00

Especially if the defense for the Browns can gen hold. Right. If they can figure it out and be cohesive, I think that's uh a good one for for the Browns to try to hit. So we're at five. Bengals at Browns. What are you picking there? Taking Browns. Taking Browns. And that's late in the year. Bengals always fighting the injury bug. I think that's a good pick for the Browns. So that gets your six. Yeah. Falcons at Browns.

SPEAKER_01

And this one I have to take the Browns, particularly because it's Kevin Stefanski coming back. So yeah. I know we have a revenge game, but uh I think.

SPEAKER_00

But also Falcons, I feel like have had a lot of ups and downs too. They've had a lot of turnover. Bijan Robinson, an absolute beast. Generational talent. Bijan's incredible, but I feel like they've had QB health issues. We'll see if uh and if you get one dimensional against the Browns, the you're in bad shape.

SPEAKER_01

I think our defense is just such that you can't be one one dimensional.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and if Jared Verse plays the way he, you know, he we know he can play, I think he he's a threat against that run game for sure. Um so yeah, I like I like your Browns pick there. Brown's at Giants. I think that got us to six or seven, probably. I think that's the one. So that's your seven.

SPEAKER_02

So you hit your over. And are you at eight? Um, I am a eight, I think, because I picked one you didn't.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Browns lover. I love this. I know. I'm being generous to the Browns here. They do lose to Giants, though, I think. Yeah, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, I don't know on that one. It's so late in the year and Cam Scataboo. It's late, though. Yeah, Cam. Can Dart be stay healthy? If Cam and Dart are playing in that game, it's 100% Giants. If they're not, I don't think the Giants have a chance. The Giants just looked like a shell of themselves once Dart and Scataboo went to the game.

SPEAKER_00

No, that is that is very fair.

SPEAKER_01

Very fair. I I'll probably ride with you on the Giants just because I really want I love Scataboo and I love Dart. I just want them to be successful, but um that's that's one that scares me to pick the the Giants for sure. That's not what I'm betting on.

SPEAKER_00

No, that that is a very much so where are they gonna be? We'll swing that line drastically as we get closer. Um especially if Cam can't keep it with his as rough as he plays. Um Browns at Ravens. I'm going Ravens there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, see, I'll go Ravens here, but I'm actually gonna switch my last one, my last Ravens game. Because I think Munkin gets Ravens at home, his old team, get a little revenge game at home. Okay. I think you you actually may steal one. I may I think you split with the Ravens, you split with the Steelers. Split with the Steelers, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I like it. I like that from you. So we're uh I mean you you clear eight. Now we're at yeah, now we're Colts at Browns. You already said Colts at Browns was a potential one you could take. I think I will take the Browns. Honestly had a huge up, but then I feel like they fell off drastically.

SPEAKER_01

They paid their QB, that's for sure. I I think that the Colts or the Giants will be one that the Browns win. I'm gonna pick the Colts because I feel a little more comfortable and I again want Dart and Scattaboo. But I think that it's one of those two that you win.

SPEAKER_00

And uh I'm gonna ride with I think Indiana Jones. Fair. It's hard to cheer against him, especially if it stays healthy. Oh yeah, absolutely. Um and then Browns at Bengals late in the year. I think that's I think that's really again gonna be are they healthy? Bengals are what they are. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think that those three games, Giants, Colts, and Bengals, are all very winnable games if the teams are as unhealthy as they have been historically. Um So I'm gonna go I'm gonna go Bengals. We kind of snatched one last year from the Bengals, which was unfortunate for our draft picks, although it ended up not mattering. But uh I think the Bengals may be the ones who keep us out of the playoffs in that game.

SPEAKER_02

That's the pessimistic Brown fan in here.

SPEAKER_00

I think I think for me I'm going I think you I before I think I picked Browns to win at home with the Bengals, but I think the Bengals win at home against the Browns if they're healthy. I think the if they're healthy is the big piece there.

SPEAKER_01

December games are real hard to predict because you you have a couple QBs go down. And I mean the Browns are in the same boat. You have you have Deshaun Watson who's injury prone, Shadur Xanders gets injured, all of a sudden we're playing Arkansas rookie QB, and it does not look good for the rest of the season.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it does yeah, it just goes off the rails. Um, no, I love it, dude. That was a lot of fun. I'm excited to see. I think there's some very gettable games there, despite not being favored. Um, it'll be be fun to see how that unfolds and if Browns can kind of put something together with their offense. Um, you've hung out with me for an hour. So before we say goodbye, Super Bowl prediction. Way too early. Way too early. Who is it your current favorite to be the Super Bowl winner for Super Bowl 61?

SPEAKER_01

You know, I I hate to be that guy, but I'm gonna go with the Rams. I want to see Miles get one. I still love Miles, even though he was not the most uh excited about being a Brown for life. Um but uh I yeah, no Cleveland to Canton for us, but hopefully Super Bowl in LA for for Miles. And I I mean that team just looks freaky, like that yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, I think uh that is not a bad pick at all, and I would have been surprised, honestly, if the Rams were not your current favorite. I think that is uh how a lot of people are feeling. They are fully loaded. And you can tell they're doing everything they can top in. Yeah. Yeah. And they're making the moves to make it as good of a possibility as possible. So um, no, I love that pick. We'll uh see how that unfolds as we dive in. But Jeff, this is an absolute blast, dude. Yeah, thanks, man. It is awesome. Absolute blast. Thank you for coming on. And uh, like we always say, we appreciate everybody. Thank you. If you've listened this long, we love ya. Please uh tell a friend so you they can join us on the bench. And let us know in the next one.

SPEAKER_01

Comments how many always how many wins you think the Cleveland Browns are gonna get.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, there you go. Yeah, tell us tell us what you think the Browns are gonna do. The Brownies, the Dog Pound. And uh, like always, dude. I hope we get some dog pound fans listening. But to sign off, we say stay hydrated. Stay hydrated audios.
