SPEAKER_02Have you been have you been like kind of keeping up with that and just like looking at pictures and videos or any of that stuff?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the earth is round.
SPEAKER_02It is definitely give it up for the round earthers. It's definitely a globe and not a flat circle. Um, but man, give it up for the round earthers. Did you watch the little YouTube video of when they named the two craters?
SPEAKER_04Oh, they named them?
SPEAKER_02Uh well, they found two new craters. One of them they named after the intrepid, which was uh the vessel to get them. Um and then the other they named after the wife of one of the astronauts, Carol, who passed away. She's been a part of this journey for the past like ten years or whatever, and she passed away, so they um they decided they wanted to name this new crater after her. And I'm telling you, this is some tear-jerking emotional shit watching it, and they all like just start crying and hugging, and it's just the sweetest thing, man.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, look at look, it's falling down, it's about to touch down, homie. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04We're watching it live. We are watching the splashdown from uh with the NASA folks coming from going around the moon. They've traveled further than any human has traveled away from Earth. And uh these four people, I I'm I couldn't be more proud. Um, man, we'll give it up, give it up for uh this is crazy shit.
SPEAKER_02Give it up for us.
SPEAKER_04Come on, y'all. Come on. Where's my crowd at? I thought I had a little crowd here, yo. I don't know what y'all are doing right now. Um, me and Booze got a lot of, hey, we got a lot of shit to talk about, Booze. I don't know. I got my my little list is uh is alright this week.

SPEAKER_04In and around. It's in and around.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, I'm sorry. We're deploying.
SPEAKER_04Oh, there it is. It looked like a little that parachutes are starting to pop out.
SPEAKER_02There it is. That's one chute, there's two. You know the can the candy dots? That's what it kind of looks like. It looks like a candy corn.
SPEAKER_04You know, it does. Without the core, without the it's the same shape. It looked like a teardrop.
SPEAKER_02Uh-oh, uh oh, uh-oh. Is that the water or is that crazy? Pretty fast.
SPEAKER_04Are they not gonna deploy another parachute or something?
SPEAKER_02I'm sure there's gonna be a bigger one here. Oh, yeah, they yeah. Let's see.
SPEAKER_04There'd be a couple more. It's got engines flying in from they look.
SPEAKER_02No, look, man, is that the water? I'm sorry, guys. This is like a car chip.
SPEAKER_04They're going pretty fast. It's like the old day drop. It's like the old day travel. You can't get your mind up. Look, you can't look away. Yeah, they can't.
SPEAKER_02Like 3,000 miles an hour. Oh, here we go. Freaking insane. They still go through the clouds.
SPEAKER_04This is wild, man.
SPEAKER_02I don't think I've ever watched a live.
SPEAKER_04That can't do anything. It looked like a rock.
SPEAKER_02It looked like uh Oh, oh, wait, there we go again.
SPEAKER_04Oh, they let it go. The bigger ones. Oh, that go to two three big. Three big ones.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04Wow. Are they gonna inflate? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're coming.
SPEAKER_04Are you serious? We are watching the uh Splash Down live. You are listening to the best podcast from New Orleans, Louisiana. It is roaming the street. Whip boo! Booza lead. Give it up for us. If we got Automas 2 landing right as we record, give it up for us.
SPEAKER_02Now they chill. Now they chill.
SPEAKER_04Now it's now they coast it now. They good. It looked like us in Jamaica when the last time I went and we did the parasiling. Oh, hell yeah. Yeah, they're gliding in. Yeah. And this little capsule. Wow, how cool.
SPEAKER_02Nothing is like so hot.
SPEAKER_04All right, let's get to the show, man. That's exciting. That's exhilarating, man. Give it up for the uh the NASA crew. I was looking at the club. They uh they made it home safe. That's the coolest shit that can ever happen uh uh for human beings, I think, to be able to go around the moon a couple of times, see Earth from the moon, and see the moon, like uh at the you know, the dark side and all that other shit. So uh we are glad y'all are here. Welcome back, y'all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, welcome back, guys.
SPEAKER_04Welcome back.
SPEAKER_02I hope you had a very exciting week. Did you have a good week?
SPEAKER_04I had a great week, Booze. How was your week?
SPEAKER_02Mine was very eventful.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was great. I actually got to work on a movie this week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah? I did a little day drinking. Oops.
SPEAKER_04Hey, give it up for Boozy. You know, but you held it down. You held it down for for me because uh it was no day drinking for me. I just uh went ahead and worked on uh a movie. That's a crap I love. Um shout out to uh yeah, and it's I'm great, you know. I don't want to I'm gonna toot your horn. Don't want to toot my own herd, but uh come on, y'all. Uh I love what I do and I do what I love, and that's why I'm doing this show because I love it. If ever y'all wanted to contribute to our show and what we're doing, uh we are a a podcast that's uh strictly dedicated to like people who like um restaurants and bars and food and pop-up. We love yeah, and food, and if you like having a good time and just knowing what's going on. And if you like to travel and shit like that, like roam in the streets with booze is uh is the best podcast for you to listen to. Uh and we recommend y'all go on to our Instagram, booze tell uh tell them about it.
SPEAKER_02It's it's you know, you're already listening, so you know roam in the streets with booze. That's our Instagram. You can always WB.
SPEAKER_04We like we like the Ritz WB. If you spell it, it's an acronym for Rome in the Streets with Booze is RITS.
SPEAKER_02Officially in the water. It is touchdown.
SPEAKER_04Let's go. Hey, they made a splash. Give it up for the NASA crew.
SPEAKER_02Everybody is safe. At least, you know, at least we hope they're not jello inside that pod.
SPEAKER_04Nah, they should be alright. Everybody will come out breathing, uh, press oxygen. Releasing the steak uh from somewhere in New Orleans. I want to welcome y'all to the best podcast in New Orleans. Uh, my name is Rome Enterprise. Once again, I want to uh introduce my beautiful, wonderful Rosie Ray co-host, Ashley Booze. Give it up for Ashley Booze, y'all.
SPEAKER_02I am not the astronaut, but I'm a smart ass.
SPEAKER_04Hey, we gotta turn that down. We're gonna turn that down. But hey y'all, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome back.
SPEAKER_02Welcome to Earth.
SPEAKER_04We turned up. The astronauts just got back. Come on, give it up. Stay booze, stay boozy, stay boozy. Hey bonafide, or you bonafri.
SPEAKER_02I like them bonafries.
SPEAKER_04Alright, give it up for our pop-up for the night. Well, it's not a pop-up, uh, it's a full-blown one of the one of the cutest uh diners places I've been in a minute, man. Oh that's well done. Well done. Give it up for bona fide, bonafide. Yeah, we'll talk about it later. Don't give it all away right now. What's up, booze? So you was talking, we were talking about our week. How your how your week was?
SPEAKER_02Mine was good. Uh, you know, baseball's in full swing, so Oh, see what she did there?
SPEAKER_04Give it up for booze. She said, baseball in full swing. I see what you did, babe.
SPEAKER_02I probably some uh killer plays and you know, just the the game the other day with uh Adele robbing three home runs and then his team winning one-nothing. Like it's just man, baseball's so beautiful. It's romantic, it's like it's just good. Nah, it's chess, baby, but like smart and good and fun.
SPEAKER_04You gotta be smart and you gotta think of the next couple plays ahead. You know what I mean? Just like life. So any of our young listeners, um, if you you know, if you're young and you trying to figure out how life works, you always gotta think two or three steps ahead. You know what I mean? All the time, all the time, because uh life moved fast, and um that's what I think adapted me to farming. And I wanna I wanna just take a shout out to uh take a shout out. I wanna take a moment to shout out uh River Queen Greens.
SPEAKER_02You didn't even say right that time.
SPEAKER_04I did. I said River Queen Greens and Lake Tilly Acres. If y'all looking for fresh food, if y'all looking for farmers uh market uh grade uh vegetables, meat, eggs, you know, chickens, ducks, shout out to y'all.
SPEAKER_02And maybe I'm gonna start making some pickles with some of your own.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, cubes are in the ground. You know, cucumbers are in the summertime, so if you have your garden out there, right now you should see at the garden shops that there's cucumbers available and peppers and maybe eggplant. Like, yeah, now's the time to plant that stuff and get it in the ground um and reap the benefits during the summer. So uh shout out to all the summertime crops. Cucumbers, I wanna give you a bundle of them. I'm gonna see what you're gonna do. Uh the last ones you made will fire you. They were good, right? Uh they will fire you, so I hope you make another one. I'm gonna make some more.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna I'm gonna talk to uh um I'm gonna talk to Paula. I'm gonna talk to Tali. What up, Tyler See if she can give me a few pointers. We've become very good friends.
SPEAKER_04Just add more garlic, that's all it is.
SPEAKER_02We've become very good friends.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, just amble garlic.
SPEAKER_02You know what's really funny though? Because I told you about the trip I'm taking to Chicago uh in a few months, and I'm going with our good buddy Charlie, and uh he was telling me the other day he went to go get his hair cut, and he was talking to his barber, and he was telling his barber that he was going on this trip, and you know, he was going with with his friend Ashley, and uh Derek went, booze? He's like, What the fuck? You know her too? He's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. My wife sells her pickles. He's like, This is insane. So, like, look, we're we're reaching all corners of we're hitting the little barber shops uptown. So, look, we're around, guys. Find us.
SPEAKER_04Come on now.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna keep eating them pickles and keep going on vacations and I'll get extra pickles on that chicken sandwich.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, let's go, let's go, let's go see Rome in the building. Booze in the building. See, roam in a building, booze in the building, roam in the streets with booze. Rome in the streets with booze. Let's go. We welcome y'all back. We appreciate y'all coming back to hang out with us. Come on, that's kind of cool.
SPEAKER_02I wanna I wanna give a quick good luck. I wanna give a quick like good luck to our friends, uh the the the team uh all-stars and Rodney Beals and everybody at Hogs for the Cause this weekend.
SPEAKER_04Hogs for the cause, raising that money for good luck.
SPEAKER_02Go out, guys. Go eat, go try everybody. I'm gonna give another little selfish shout out to the team um Pork Choppatoulis. Oh wow. That's a bunch of my family. My cousin Brent and Megan and Amy and Walker and the kid. Like the kids help out. Like my friend, my cousin Megan and her husband Wheeler, their son, uh does little cooking videos online. Absolutely. It's so cute. It's just absolutely adorable.
SPEAKER_04You know a lot of people, and I bet you are inspiration behind all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02I doubt it.
SPEAKER_04Give it up for uh all of the young chefs and inspiring uh farmers. Come on, boozy.
SPEAKER_02I didn't do it.
SPEAKER_04Come on, man. But Autumn is touched down, and this is uh uh we surpassed 2,000 downloads. We want to appreciate and take the time to say thank you to each and every one of y'all.
SPEAKER_02Come on, Julian, Jalisca, baby, Harry, Tanya, Diamond, Dave, and Jesse. Thank you guys.
SPEAKER_04We couldn't do it without y'all, but uh this is us just chilling, man. What's happening?
SPEAKER_02Oh, you know what's you know what's happening? Something really exciting happened uh just right up now. Um Audubon, the Audubon Institute just opened up their new park uh in Woldenberg Park. They're calling it Gold Ring Wolden uh Woldenburg Park. So it's a brand new green space on the riverfront. So now there's like like two and a quarter miles of just straight riverfront access.
SPEAKER_04Um What does riverfront access mean? Can we uh can we have a a birthday party? Can we get married out there or what? Yeah, sure. Oh, okay. It's public space.
SPEAKER_02You can do anything in a public space except for loot axe. Uh loot axe. But it's basically from like the um the aquarium down another like like I said, two and almost two and a half miles of just park and uh, you know, open space and it's it looks really, really, really, really dope. So it's gonna be a really great addition to uh the city and just a tourism attraction too, because you know it's it's great to have these really cool open spaces for people to just explore. And the the the river's as janked as as it is, it's a beautiful thing.
SPEAKER_04Like no, what do you mean, Jacket? It's like it's like one of the best the most the reason it's the reason our city was like here, man.
SPEAKER_02Do you remember that you remember that story from a couple years ago that guy was trying to evade the cops and he jumped into the river and swam two Algiers?
SPEAKER_03Wait, I don't know how the hell you did he swam up river?
SPEAKER_02He swam across that fucking river across. I'm telling you, he made it, dude. I'm telling you, he made it.
SPEAKER_04If y'all believe booze, you can write us.
SPEAKER_02This was a few years ago. I don't have all the deets, obviously, but it definitely happened.
SPEAKER_04Look, write us in. Look, tell us a story you heard. Um, something you know that we don't we haven't heard a Roman, anything, like a ghost story, anything. Write us in at Rome in Booze at Yahoo.com. Look how good I got it. Look, I got it.
SPEAKER_02Still ain't got one email though.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we haven't gotten an email yet, man.
SPEAKER_02In three months, four months.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you know what I got for y'all? Come on, y'all. Let's go. Fire it up. Uh, we need to get more emails in, and uh we appreciate y'all. Um yeah, send us a little email. Tell us something, a little weird story or something. I got a little story later I'll tell I'll share with y'all. Yeah, I got some other notes, though. There's a lot of shit happening in this in this great city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Uh, there's a whole bunch of shit. Oh, booze. I mentioned it uh, I don't know if it was last pie or the pie before, about us doing a happy hour somewhere to support somewhere to do, you know what I mean, like something that would benefit that that establishment. And I think I think we should go to Parkview Tavern before they close, because I think they could have a lot of things.
SPEAKER_02They only got a few more weeks, like six, seven weeks, maybe six weeks left, I think.
SPEAKER_04Six weeks.
SPEAKER_02Because it's not even that it doesn't uh they close out before the end of May, I think.
SPEAKER_04Oh sad.
SPEAKER_02So I know a couple friends that are gonna be out of jobs, and yeah, a lot of community is gonna be out of a a gathering place. And so yeah, we definitely should go see them. Uh, we'll definitely hit you guys up with a date that we're gonna go with.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna put together a date. We're gonna do uh a happy hour. So uh with uh um we'll do a happy hour when uh when the time is available and we'll figure out a date. But we gotta support Parkview Tavern. It's right next door to the barbecue joint on uh Carrollton. And uh, you know what? They're going out of business because the barbecue joint uh tried to take over. Well, they took over, they took over and they own it now, and so yada yada. So let's go and support that place. We'll do a little bit of uh happy hour over there.
SPEAKER_02Um that's why I said it red pine. I said fuck red pie.
SPEAKER_04All right, boozy. All right, last week I do want to remind y'all we had a great show last week. If you didn't uh if you didn't tune in, please go and revisit that show. Uh it was great. It was with the uh we went over to Jamba Clot with uh. Oh, it was so good.
SPEAKER_02We had a few friends go last week too, after we had mentioned it, and everybody said it was delicious. So that's that's always exciting. You know, we trend we're making a little bit of a difference and helping people.
SPEAKER_04We try to tell people. I mean, we know about it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I I was so excited when the place that we went today finally opened up. I was there uh they're they're soft open when they said, Hey, this is gonna be our our day that we're open, it's gonna be a line outside or whatever. And um, you know, my very good friends, our very good friends, Jeffrey Brienne, who owned Flower Moon, were like, let's go. Like, this is a new neighborhood business.
SPEAKER_04Jeffrey and Brienne give a shout out every single day. But you know what, too.
SPEAKER_02They got engaged last week. Uh, congratulations. They got engaged on Easter. Make it official now. Uh mom and dad are getting married. I'm so excited.
SPEAKER_03Don't shoot my friends.
SPEAKER_04I told you that's a celebration. That's a little shooting. We gotta get booze accustomed to this sound right there.
SPEAKER_03She's not used to I don't like it.
SPEAKER_04She moved out of the east.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's why we moved out of the east.
SPEAKER_04She moved out of the east a long time ago, so she'll you know what I mean. But we are here, and um you know what? Congratulations to anybody getting married around this time. It's a beautiful time.
SPEAKER_02Our friends Tanya and Henrik, they're getting married soon. I think at the Blue Bridge or like right on the bayou. Yeah, yeah, that they're getting married soon. And I'm super excited about them. I absolutely adore them. They are the sweetest people on the planet.
SPEAKER_04Love them, love them, love them. Boo's a lot going on. Uh, I know we're bullshitting and just hanging out.
SPEAKER_02Are you gonna talk about Bona Fride for a minute?
SPEAKER_04Uh no, not right now. I thought we always saved that for the end.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I wanted to, oh, we hit last week about the uh jambo clock. Uh, if you didn't listen to the episode, please go back and listen to that one. Um We will do a happy hour soon, I promise you. Uh, but in the meantime, this weekend, why are you listening to this? There's a uh the Hundo. The Hundo Rodeo Fest. What's that? Uh it's a rodeo in the Superdome. Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay. Bunch of yeah, Hondo? It's a rodeo. Hundo H O N D Okay. How do you pronounce that?
SPEAKER_02Hondo? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Hondo, that's what I said.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_02I wasn't judging you. I was just confused. I didn't know. No, it's Hondo. I never heard of it, so I was just trying to get an idea.
SPEAKER_04There's a whole bunch of shit. There's a Pontchatula strawberry fish.
SPEAKER_02I have had some fun at that festival. Me and my mom's fish.
SPEAKER_04What's up with the with the Ponchatula strawberry fish?
SPEAKER_02I mean, you got literally strawberries everywhere. Made into anything. So they make strawberry everywhere. Strawberry daiquis are the shit.
SPEAKER_04Oh, wow. Give it up.
SPEAKER_02We used to get the Virgin strawberry daiquiris when we were kids, but I'll get them now. Uh and they're just delicious. Those fresh Panchatula strawberries are unmatched. Uh they got like a little carnival area where there's, you know, like Ferris Wheel and Tilted Whirls and shit like that.
SPEAKER_04Alright, so there's carnival rise and shit. Alright, that's cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think one of the last times I went was with my ex-boyfriend. And man, we just cut up. We went with one of our couple friends, and we just cut up like we were 16-year-old teenagers, dude. That makes sense. We were stupid.
SPEAKER_04It makes sense though. That's what you're supposed to do at those kind of like a few years. Yeah, it was a lot of fun, man. Just a lot of eating. A lot of people grew up there that you didn't grow up with. You know what I mean? It's like let's just have fun. Yeah, it's like New Orleans, but it's a good time.
SPEAKER_02It's got it's gotten a little crazy the past few years. You keep seeing a lot of random things that have happened at the festivals as of late, and you're like, man, good or bad or what? Not good. Not good. Not good. I think it's just been like shootings like the last two years. Really? I think so. Definitely last year.
SPEAKER_04Let's not talk about that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, no, no. But it's a really great, it's I mean, it's the biggest thing that Ponchatula has. You know what I mean? The amount of strawberry farms that city has is just wild.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_02It's a lot. And I I drive a lot, so I've seen pretty much every back area uh take a drink of all of Louisiana. You know what I mean? I've hit every back road that exists in St. Tamity, Washington, Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. John, like Tanji. Any of them.
SPEAKER_04It's insane how fast you get around.
SPEAKER_02Like I I've I You were you were past me earlier when you said I'm on Canal, I was on Bienville. You were past Canal. I was still on Biennale. And I still beat you here by four minutes.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. Like you got gas on your chest, I think. That's what they don't even go to the chest. The old timers used to say back in the day. Oh, he got gas on his chest. Look how fast he look how fast he drives. Look, look, look, look, look, look at that.
SPEAKER_02I honestly don't even drive that fast. I just drive efficiently.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Well, I believe you. I believe you, booze. Give it up for you. Um, I uh on the other hand like to take my time or whatever. So that leads me to uh, you know, sometimes just chill out and take the slow route.
SPEAKER_02You went, what, you went normancy? No, I went.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I did. I actually went normancy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's that's kind of my my go-to way.
SPEAKER_04Uh go in the go normancy, go over the bridge, you know what I mean? The only thing that it's no real clog up over there.
SPEAKER_02Not normally. You can get some you can get some nasty shit around five o'clock.
SPEAKER_04Whoa, booze. I saw D Max was back open.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's a new Southern, it's a new, like almost country. Is what is it called? Total Southern or something?
SPEAKER_04I have no idea, but I saw it was open. I said, hey, I wonder if they 24 hours.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I haven't really looked into it. I just saw one person post about it recently, and like it was a lot of country music, which isn't normally my favorite, but you give me some old 90s country like Brooks and Dunn in Alabama and I'll fuck around with it. You know what I'll fucking do.
SPEAKER_04And there's no karaoke. I know they had karaoke at one time.
SPEAKER_02Come on, neon moon. Or or the what's the Alabama? I'm in a hurry to get things done and I'm gonna be able to see how it's like a shit.
SPEAKER_04If y'all see if y'all can see how I'm looking at booze right now, like I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
SPEAKER_02Come on, bruh. I'll introduce you to some shit, bro.
SPEAKER_04Country music, huh? Alright. We country enough.
SPEAKER_02I don't like country music though, but only 90s country.
SPEAKER_04Only 90s country. I don't like country, but only 90s.
SPEAKER_02You can't give me that shit. You can't call the shit that's around right now country music. This shit is garbage. There's a di there's like a uh there's a thing at the Deutsches house this weekend. That's right, Saturday, and they're like doing docs and races.
SPEAKER_04What is it, the German fashion?
SPEAKER_02Doch and dash at Volkert.
SPEAKER_04German Springfest.
SPEAKER_02Volkertfest or whatever.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I saw that. Man, I'm gonna go see some weenies racing around like a bunch of maniacs.
SPEAKER_04There we go. Some dog, some weenie dog racing.
SPEAKER_02They're so cute. Why are they such cute little dogs?
SPEAKER_04They are, and you save one if you don't know about that episode. Uh little Roo uh the little lost Weenie and Bradley.
SPEAKER_02Yes, 17-year-old lost weenie.
SPEAKER_0417 years old. It was crazy how old that dog was. I knew it. You you called it, but I was like, uh, it's not that old. You was like, yeah, it's at least 30. You said 13.
SPEAKER_02I said I said probably 15 plus years old. And then you had me question it, so I was like, uh at bare minimum 13. I was like, this dog is old. Yeah, I actually saw a little thing today. There was a toxin that turned 21.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Hey, who who was it? You know his name? I know I don't.
SPEAKER_02It was just on it was just on the internet because I like so many dog and you know, animal posts and shit like that. So half of my algorithm is just like cute dog shit. And me and my friend Jen over at uh Homedale uh are just sending shit back and forth all day, every day. Yeah, yeah. Because she had Dachshunds, I've had Dachshunds, so I have a soft, soft place in my heart. Yeah, for some sauce.
SPEAKER_04Well, Max is pretty cute too. Max is his best. Give it up for Max. What up, Max? Max, you got the screwdriver tour tonight, huh? He's got one. I bet he's got it somewhere.
SPEAKER_02You got him off the couch now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Max Amelia.
SPEAKER_02You making him go find the same pickup. You know where it's at now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but definitely see that and be like, what the fuck is that? All right. So yeah, back to it though. Uh, Boozy, a lot going on. The splash down just happened. Uh, y'all witnessed that with us. Uh I don't know how y'all weekend been or whatever y'all doing. I hope y'all had a great week. Um, if you haven't made time to go to our Instagram and follow us on Instagram in uh in the bio, there's a link. And you can uh go to our Buzz Sprout. There's a page on the Buzz Sprout where you can leave a voice message. So leave us a voice message message. Leave us a metrics. Uh leave us a voice message and uh you know we'll put you on there if we like what you're saying or if we don't like it. Like Boo said, we'll put it on anyway and just clown you after. Um so yeah, so feel free to go to our buzz route. It is connected to our Instagram page, which is Rome in the Streets.
SPEAKER_01Woo-doo!
SPEAKER_04Yep, on Instagram. Just how it spells is just how it sounds. Uh please join us. Become part of the family, become part of the entourage. We need y'all to survive. Uh, we can't do this without y'all. We only do this for y'all. So, uh, booze. Um, the strawberry fest, did we talk about that?
SPEAKER_02We did, we did, we did.
SPEAKER_04Oh, uh, did I mention there's a giant puppet festival this weekend? Yeah. So the there's a puppet like festival. Um let me see, I got some info on that. Uh there's a puppet fest that's happening. Um what is it? Uh this Saturday and Sunday, I wanna say. And uh it's called the Octopus of Dreams. It's a giant puppet show by Sierra K. Uh, and it's showing uh at Den of Music, which is 42 Architect Street. Y'all you know where Architect Alley is? You know what that is? It's it's the little bridge, it's like right around the corner from Mimi's. So the old Mimi's uh shout out to Honors. Uh it's called Honors now, but um Yeah, Architect Alley is a dope spot and I guess it's happening over there. Uh tonight, but I I heard about a puppet festival that was happening. Uh I didn't know much about it. You think my mic is static?
SPEAKER_02No, yours sounds sad.
SPEAKER_04It's because it's because of your mic though.
SPEAKER_02But I mean I wasn't even talking, that was weird.
SPEAKER_04Yours is static, too.
SPEAKER_02Uh I'm just gonna hold it like that. I don't know what's gonna drive me to the biggest.
SPEAKER_04Anyway, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Uh we're having a good time. And what uh besides the puppet puppet festival, uh there's uh a couple other things happening, booze in the city. You know French quarterfest coming up.
SPEAKER_02That's next weekend, man. That's gonna be the Holy Girl of Shit Shows. It always is, it's so much every fun though. Like, it really is such a great freaking time. Like, I just love you gotta put your tennis shoes on, guys, because you're gonna do a lot of freaking walking. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04You gotta walk around the quarter and enjoy it. It's a lot of people. You gotta see all the shit. And uh what else we got? Um, oh, hogs for the cause. Did we mention it?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Yep, we did that's this weekend. Um might we might as well, we talked about the splish splash, the splash down.
SPEAKER_04Splash down.
SPEAKER_02And the splish flash, the old Washateria on uh invited St. China's now the Bonafried uh chicken pop uh chicken restaurant, which man, it like that is the perfect addition to that stream, man. You've got uh now bona fried, you've got layuzes just around the corner, you got uh Dega, the conseco. I mean, everything's just kind of right there. A thousand figs.
SPEAKER_04It's all right there. Um boozy. I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_02Alright.
SPEAKER_04Be gentle though. Be gentle, be nice. There you go. Hey, say room and booze. Say room and booze. See she plug back in. But it does plug back in. Hey, see she plug back in. Plug her back in. Plug it back in. Uh we're good now. Alright, no, that's better. Hey, give it up for booze for making it work.
SPEAKER_02This thing just hates me. I think I have too much electricity.
SPEAKER_04We talked about this almost a year now. Booze, can you believe we almost been on uh on the satellites? But where do we start? August? Yeah, it's gonna be a year in a minute, girl.
SPEAKER_02We eight months in? Crazy. Oh, anyway, so Miss Bone Fride. Bonafride. Uh they're at Bona Fry truck on Instagram and everything. Um I'm telling y'all, this is hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches you're gonna you're gonna eat, period. They've um I got to sit down with B, who um she and her husband, Steven, um, own the place. They own the food truck. Um, they started out as a pop-up in 2014 and um did the truck for about 10 years, and they finally got the opportunity to do a brick and mortar, and I mean it's it's hella good, dude.
SPEAKER_04It's the nice thick it is thick thighs, save lives. If y'all not ready for a real chicken sandwich, don't even go.
SPEAKER_02I think they've got six or seven different variations of how they do their chicken sandwiches. So I got a sweet one. Mine's called the special, so it was like a sweet heat. You got the Mac, which was this kind of Ramalade.
SPEAKER_04It was a plea, yeah. It's a play on a big Mac sauce. Come on now.
SPEAKER_02There's a honey mustard, there's like uh a hot aioli, chili oil one, like hand-cut fries. These are the best hand cut fries I think I've ever had. Like they are seriously phenomenal. They they do it right. Like, you know, when somebody takes the fry and throws it in the oil and that's it. That's not the way to do fresh fries. You gotta do that double fry. And uh I'm I can't they didn't tell me that's how they did it, but I've watched enough food shows and you know, eaten enough French fries in my life to know that you gotta do that double fry. You fry it first for a little bit of time, blanch it, and then you know, and then fry them again, and you get the perfect crispy.
SPEAKER_04They were just telling it was hand cut too.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you, they just crunched so perfectly. The only thing I could have had was some malt vinegar. I'd have torn it up with some malt vinegar. Yeah, kind of how I Five Guys is the only place I know that has malt vinegar for their hand, hand cut fries. That's like a UK thing. I'm gonna tell you what though, it is so.
SPEAKER_04That was the that was the restaurant, the place I was about to name. I was like, the only other hand cut fries that can fuck with those is five guys.
SPEAKER_02And five guys ain't got nothing on bona fry. Nothing, nothing.
SPEAKER_04Give it up for bona fry. Yeah, they all gotta get over there.
SPEAKER_02I I got like I said, I sat down with B. Um, and I want to go ahead and just roll to her for a few minutes. Um, she just kind of gives us the story of Bonafride, and it it's honestly kind of awesome. So we'll we'll take it away to B.
SPEAKER_04Yep, let's go to that interview.
SPEAKER_02All right, guys, we are here with B. She is the uh one of the owners of the world-famous Bonafrink.
SPEAKER_00Hi! So you started out as a food truck, correct? Yes. We started off as a pop-up while we were building our food truck back in 2014, way before the chicken sandwich wars, way before the Popeye's chicken sandwich, way before any other chicken sandwich businesses were in New Orleans. So we are the OGs of the chicken sandwich game.
SPEAKER_02And a true masters of it, I might add. Um, so you did the truck for 12 years.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's still we we did the truck for about 10 years. We opened, we opened our pop-up in um, oh gosh, probably February of 2014. Then we opened the food truck in February of 2016. And so it took us about 10 years to get the restaurant open. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_02And you're here in the Bayou St. John um neighborhood. Oh, yeah, right on Esplanade, right on Washateria.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the Shadowia. I've already called it the Shadaria, but it was uh its real name was Flish Flash. Yeah. It was owned by our friend Kevin. And when he knew he wanted to close a laundromat after it being in his family for probably 50 or 60 years, he knew that he wanted to give the building to someone he trusted, and he contacted us and asked us if we wanted to open a bona fride. My husband goes, Oh, isn't that a funny joke? And I was like, I'm not joking. I'm doing it.
SPEAKER_02Like, yeah, I'm doing that. That's amazing. Um, it's I mean, well, it's absolutely wonderful. You've just opened within the past two and a half months, right? January 10th.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So this is our third month now. Yeah, April, right? March, April, yeah, three months today. Three months today. Yeah, happy three-month anniversary.
SPEAKER_02A whole quarter of a year.
unknownWe've done it.
SPEAKER_02Um, I love it. And it's absolutely wonderful. So you still do the food truck. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Um, for festivals, we're bringing it back to uh the streets very soon, but it's just we're in all hands on deck for Jazz Fest right now. Preparations for Jazz Fest and the First. You're right in the middle of Jazz Fest, like we just said. So we are right in the official block for unofficial.
SPEAKER_02And you know, Bonafride, and you know, where I work over at Powell's just on the other side. So it's just it's probably one of the most fun neighborhoods for two weeks out of the year, right?
SPEAKER_00Oh god. It's I was just talking to someone about it, about how it's such a uniquely New Orleans experience to be in this neighborhood during Jazz Test. I was completely unaware before we before we started coming, and it was just so it's it's magical. There are so many vendors on the streets, there are grass bands playing, they have the porch sessions across the street from Layuz's, and we are right on that exact same walk with them. We did our food truck here last year, and getting to spend that full two weeks on the truck with the people in this neighborhood. It's it's like nothing I've ever done anymore before. And I'm like a Mardi Gras baby. You know, the food truck we're in Mardi Gras constantly. And Mardi Gras is its own unique. It is its beast. And it feels like a little mini Mardi Gras almost.
SPEAKER_02It definitely is. People coming from all over out of town, but it's also a very locals experience, and this is a very local neighborhood where people have lived here for generations. And the great thing about this neighborhood is they do, for the most part, really welcome in the newbies. It's been working with arms.
SPEAKER_00It really has been. Um there was a little bit of like side-eye for a second because you know the laundromat closed and this was a real resource to the community. But you can't stop somebody from doing what they need to do for their own life and Kevin had to do what he had to do, you know, and he was just he was done. His um well, I shouldn't say that, but uh I understood to say that. Yeah. It was it was his time and he wanted to step back. He's a video game designer. He he inherited this business and he wanted to run it for other folks, but um oh gosh, I keep getting closer and closer to saying this thing. His brother passed away. Okay. And so I just don't want to like talk about his brother passing away without him, you know what I mean. But um, God bless him, keep them. But whenever he decided to close, it was, you know, the the neighborhood missed them. And so there was a little bit of a side-eye being like, hey, like what are you coming into our space a little bit? But as soon as we started to do our outreach, started to meet people, started to bring the truck out for all of these different community events. Open arms. Open arms. Everyone has been so lovely and so wonderful. We have people coming in uh every single week for their weekly bona fride. We live a couple blocks down, and there's this one woman who is like, we call her the Mara Esplanade. She keeps being like, Where is everybody? Where are my neighbors? And she'll fuss at them for not coming.
SPEAKER_02Oh look as soon as you as soon as I actually DM'd you about it. Um once Jess Fest is over, you're gonna revamp your hours to um more hours.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna be including Wednesday. Okay. We're gonna stay, we're we're gonna listen to what the rest of the neighborhood kind of does and follow form with them. So our hours are gonna be very similar to like Cafe des Gains and Wayuza's. We're gonna do Wednesday through Sunday. I'm still debating on whether or not doing a Wednesday lunch is gonna be the right move or not, but we'll definitely be open Wednesday evenings for sure. So let me know if y'all want a Wednesday day, if y'all are gonna come out for lunch.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, heard it here, guys. So please come out uh visit B and her husband, I believe. Steven. Um come see them and patronize burnofied. It's absolutely the best chicken sandwich you're gonna find in the city. Thank you. Well, thank you so much, B. I really appreciate taking I appreciate you taking the time with us. It's no problem. Feeding us to the point of combustibility.
SPEAKER_00And you got that lavender lemonade. I do. Let's talk about it. It's so good. I'm obsessed with it. I I'm a real lavender lemonade kind of girl. I feel like it's the most sapphic drink in the world. Could be more sappho than that. But um, I uh we're trying to figure out what our signature cocktail is gonna be still, because we have our liquor license now and we're playing with some things, and I'm leaning hard into that lemonade. You should because it is. You definitely should. But we're talking about a blackberry lemonade as well for Japanese. Could you just just just uh you know change the fruit for the season? Yeah, yeah, because that blackberry is so good too, and it's a little less divisive because some people don't like the floral of lavender, and blackberry is just universal. Like, it's a little like what is this? What am I tasting? It's delicious, but what berry is this? So we're probably gonna do a blackberry lemonade for that. I can't talk about it. I can't wait. Yeah, especially with our Fest After Dark collaboration that's coming up. Yeah. Oh, I can't wait.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so we got some ticket giveaways. Oh my goodness. Well, I can't wait. Everybody, pay attention. Come visit and uh follow Bonafride.
SPEAKER_00Is it tell us your um Instagram handle? Everything is at Bonafride Truck. B-O-N-A-F-R-I-E-D Truck. Sounds great. Thank you again, B, so much for me. You're absolutely amazing. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02How lovely is she? Is she just not the best?
SPEAKER_04Give it up.
unknownI can't.
SPEAKER_04What a great interview. Who's you so good at interviewing? I already know.
SPEAKER_02Um, it's a it's just really great to have another um wonderful neighbor in the neighborhood. Um BSJ is such a special neighborhood. Um, it really, really, really is.
SPEAKER_04It's and when we say BSJ, we mean Bayou St. John, give it up for Bayou St. John neighborhood. People who live on that bayou area, man. What a great, what a great neighborhood. It's unmatched, what a great neighborhood.
SPEAKER_02Come on, it's I mean, just the beauty of it, all those, you know, the Oakline Streets, Esplanade and Ursuline are just and then you've got, you know, like I said, all the little restaurants and um little Mexican restaurants still there. I haven't been there in forever.
SPEAKER_04Which one? Um we just went to El Pavo Rio. I mean you're talking about the El Pavo Real, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um no, the one right there on Esplanade. Um, I forget the name of it, but I haven't been there in I think it's still there, I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_04Um, you're talking about uh I know.
SPEAKER_02I why can't I think of the name of it? Oh man, I'm gonna hate myself for that. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's right next to Conseco right now.
SPEAKER_04All of y'all should be yelling at y'all radio right now. You know what are we talking about? Uh Santa Fe.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Hey, Rome got it, give it up for Rome. In the Bell, like how did I beat Booze at a Jeopardy question? What's the rest the Mexican restaurant on Esplanade? Santa Fe.
SPEAKER_02The Bell isn't also really great. That's a little London pub style place. They finally got fish and chips. They finally got it. They didn't have it for the first like a year and a half. They were open. I was like, how are you gonna be a little London pub but no fish and chips?
SPEAKER_04Come on now. And you know, we're gonna come over there and talk about it. Uh, if you want to reach out to us, reach out to us at Rome. The letter N Ooze B O O S at Yahoo.com. Come on, now give it up for us. Come on, booze. We got that shit going on. Uh, one one little thing I gotta take care of a little business. Uh, if you wanna um sponsor with us, if you want to become a partner with us and you want us to To represent your uh your brand or your uh your establishment or anything you got going on if it whether it's a festival, you want to send a shout out to your uh your hubby or your wifey for their birthday or they they your uh your anniversary or whatever you want to do, send us a little email at Romeinbooze at yahoo.com. Uh and we're gonna keep it going for y'all. And we're gonna get uh and again you can go to our Buzz Sprout and leave us a voicemail uh memo and we'll play it on the show if y'all, if y'all good enough, if y'all funny enough, if y'all fly enough, if y'all sending enough love, come on, huh, booze? Let them know. Yeah, come on, and uh y'all come on as Smokey would say come out! Oh, I love smoke. I'm in Smoke Dog, man. That's my dude. Um, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's my Monday partner, man.
SPEAKER_04That's your little partner. That's my Monday partner. The Monday, the Monday crew. Shout out to the Monday crew, the Monday nerds, the Monday nerds.
SPEAKER_02Insane, man. I love it so much. I've lost a few of them over the years, but uh I'm I'm gonna be losing a new one soon. Makes me kind of sad, but trying to think about it.
SPEAKER_04Oh no. Uh how are you predicting this? How do you think that's the thing? Well, he's moving.
SPEAKER_02I know he's I know he's moving. He and his part his wife are moving. Yeah. Uh to be closer to family. Because, you know, we're at the age where our our parents are getting on the older side.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02You know?
SPEAKER_04I'm witnessing it now, and I'm like, uh man, I'm at this point.
SPEAKER_02I know my stepdad's about to be 81.
SPEAKER_04Wow, 81.
SPEAKER_02Yep, next month.
SPEAKER_04Yes, indeed. Give it up for the 81-year-olds. Well, I'm gonna top that one, booze, and I hate to do this, but Jell's grandmother is turning 93. Shout out to Mimi. Hey. So this Saturday, Mimi is throwing herself her own birthday party, and uh, yeah, we're gonna turn up and booze. I hope you show up. You gonna show up? This Saturday? This Saturday.
SPEAKER_02Why didn't you tell me before now?
SPEAKER_04I don't know. Why should this guy tell you? Why you gotta ask me? Why thought you I was bad. You said they be lying. Shot fired. You see how they be lying?
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_04Come on, now y'all supposed to know that kind of stuff. Mimi turned in 93. Give it up for Mimi. Uh you want me to show up?
SPEAKER_02Is it like a uh all black party? You want me to show up in white?
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, don't do that again, you asshole.
SPEAKER_02If y'all don't know that story, oh my god.
SPEAKER_04She is such an asshole.
SPEAKER_02I am the biggest asshole.
SPEAKER_04Give it up for booze. That's my girl. My mom fell out laughing. My mom thought that was the funniest shit in the world. It was ridiculous.
SPEAKER_02Your wedding anniversary.
SPEAKER_0425? Come on. Wait, hold on. Look at me. Look how good I look.
SPEAKER_02So here's the quick thing.
SPEAKER_04You wanna say 25 years married?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Is it 20 or 25?
SPEAKER_04Or come on now. It's only 21.
SPEAKER_02Well, the party was 20, right?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm saying. That's what I was. I was like, wait, no, it wasn't 25.
SPEAKER_04See, you're see, she's been in the space shuttle. Give it up for boozey. She's been in the space shuttle. She done went to the moon. She a little lost. She a little lost.
SPEAKER_02Um, that was you. Um, no, so they had their 20th anniversary party at uh Bobby Beer Garden.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02And on invitation they sent out, you know, it's a it's an all-black party. We're all black.
SPEAKER_04She thought it meant all black people.
SPEAKER_02I was like, all I did was look at where it was and what time it was. I had been out in the sun all day doing something all day, and I was like, I'm just gonna wear this because like it's super comfortable, and it's this white, like, this motherfucker should have been a white party. Show us in this beautiful, like, green to white gradient dress, and she's like, Are you fucking kidding me right now? I was like, girl, I was like, you need me to be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_04If y'all would have seen her red that booze turned and oh my god, it was worth it, it was worse than Kool-Aid, man. She was the yeah, she was really rosy red. I always said my rosy red co-host, but she was really rosy red that night. We'll give it up for booze. We had a great night that night. I don't want to linger on on that. Uh it was great, man.
SPEAKER_02I just kept saying I was your token white friend. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because I'm I don't I I don't consider myself your token black friend, though. I think you got funny. That's a joke, I think. I think that was funny. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Obviously. Yeah, my mom thought you were her lap, man. Come on now. All right, hogs for the code.
SPEAKER_02Completely unintentional, too.
SPEAKER_04Like, yeah, it was, yeah, it was, and it was no, we couldn't believe how embarrassed you was about it, but it was nah, we could, but it was like, I was like, she's so mad at me.
SPEAKER_02I was so upset that Chao was gonna be so mad at me.
SPEAKER_04Chao was fine, man. Give it up a shell, give it up a shell, and all the rest of y'all.
SPEAKER_02And then we went on vacation later that year to Colorado.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, y'all too did. Y'all did, y'all did.
SPEAKER_02Um I was just thinking about that trip. Oh man, that was a fun time.
SPEAKER_04What a great, what a great uh time we had that night, man. Oh, booze, there's a bird uh migration festival in Grand Ow. You know about that? Well the birds migrate they have a festival for it? And they have a festival for it, but all of the I think all of the uh the tours are sold out. So if you go up there, like what kind of birds? All of the birds that migrate from South to North, North America, South America, the the great flights.
SPEAKER_02Like the hummingbirds are around right now too. They make a hella journey.
SPEAKER_04They make a so they they they've been studying this shit for years, and like apparently grand all has been smart enough to build the festival around it because I guess they land right on that yeah, the tip. I think there's time to stop though. If you've been flying for that long, like right at the tip of Louisiana, yeah. Get all those fresh shallow fish, too. So I I get it. Um, but there's a big bird migration thing that's happening. If you're lucky enough, it's not this weekend. It's not this weekend.
SPEAKER_02Grand Isle is trip.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I bet it is.
SPEAKER_02That place is wild. It's it's like lawlessness down there.
SPEAKER_04Oh, really? I think the first one I went was uh what was it? Was it was it cutoff or I think I went to cutoff and cutoff ain't that bad compared to Grand Isle, like I mean in the terms of distance.
SPEAKER_02Grand Isle is literally the end of the earth for Louisiana. It's the end of the earth.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's happening uh April 25th and 26th. So give it up for uh Grand Isle. If y'all interested in that kind of shit, like if y'all want to watch bird, if y'all love birders, take a drink. Y'all wanna uh be a birder and go and watch that shit. Um but April 25th, 26th, y'all go out there and check it out. Um I'm sure it's a great time. If I'm if I if I find time, I might drive down. Uh I'm not.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna tell you right now. That's the middle of Jazz Fest.
SPEAKER_04There's no way that's your time to make your money. No way, no way. Who's gonna make that paper?
SPEAKER_02I got too much going on. I need to make them papers.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you gotta.
SPEAKER_02I finally went to my CPA today. I was like, I was cutting it close.
SPEAKER_04Do I get some or do I owe some?
SPEAKER_02Oh, I don't ever get anything back. I don't get anything back. I haven't gotten anything back in 13 years.
SPEAKER_04Shit, man, we gotta change that.
SPEAKER_02That's not there's no possible way when you're a 1099.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it is hard.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, take a drink. Hey, come on now. Y'all listening to the best uh podcast coming out of New Orleans, Louisiana. This is Rome in the Streets with Boo. All right, you already know what it is. We are so full from the meal we had today. And I think that that uh I think that that chicken sandwiches knocked it out of the park. Did we mention we mentioned the STEM fest at Xavier? Oh shit. I almost forgot about that. So Xavier's doing a STEM fest, which is a science festival for the youngsters. If you're interested in science and learning different things about science, uh bring the kids out. I think that's uh this Saturday and Sunday or maybe just Saturday. Um Saturday. Uh today that you listening to this pod. Um the STEM fest will be out there, Xavier. Uh and don't forget the m the bird migration is uh April 25th through 26th. Uh the Masters was on today. I saw uh Rory giving them hell. Rory McLaroy giving them hell out there on the city.
SPEAKER_02So you wanna you wanna know a quick random secret?
SPEAKER_04What's up?
SPEAKER_02Masters weekend is the number one weekend for vasectomies in the United States.
SPEAKER_04Hey, why is that? What's the deal?
SPEAKER_02Because they can just sit there in Ice There Balls and watch golf all day.
SPEAKER_04It makes sense to me.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you, I know these things.
SPEAKER_04Booze, only you know this. Yeah, but yeah, that's look it up. Nah, that's that's probably true. Oh, just imagine getting a snip. You get the snip, right? You sit on your recliner, three straight days. You're like, well, babe, what are you gonna do? Oh no, I'm gonna just watch the Masters. I'm gonna watch Rory.
SPEAKER_02For three straight days.
SPEAKER_04Destroy these guys.
SPEAKER_02And then it's fine, they go back to work on Monday.
SPEAKER_04I think he's eight or nine under by now. Give it up for Rory McLaroy. He's uh he's busting his ass out there right now. I think he'll this will be a second uh green jacket if he wins in a row. Uh, which is dope. Which is dope. Give it up for that, man. That's that's fire, man. I'm so good at golf um that one time I got what? Why you laughing?
SPEAKER_02You know golf is an acronym?
SPEAKER_04For what?
SPEAKER_02Gentlemen only, ladies forbidden.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you, I learned that a long time ago. Back in like Scotland, where it was. Gentlemen only.
SPEAKER_04What does that what is a gentleman? What does that mean? Gentleman only. You're gentle?
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying. That's what I heard. I could be wrong, but you know. I've heard I heard that when I was a kid.
SPEAKER_04Well, I don't know. I don't know if I buy that one. Anyway. We'll confuse the audience in the meantime. Hey, like like the disclaimer said at the beginning of this, like, nothing is real. We just bullshitting, we just talking. Just hanging out with y'all. Um we appreciate y'all. So, uh with the masters, uh, I have a really funny story, man. One time I was uh I was trying it out, like just trying to get acquainted with golfing. And uh I didn't know that the word I thought four was something that you just say when you play every time you hit the ball. That's not every time you hit the ball that you say four. It's only when your ball that you hit goes into a dangerous area where there's other people that may be in in range of yeah, in range of getting hit by your ball that you just hit. So you yell four so everybody can like be a be aware that there's an incoming ball from I don't know where. No. If you yell five, you'll get looked at uh whatever, booze. Did I fall for that? Um no, you yell for you yell four, and uh you shoot three. You write down two though. Y'all will get that later. Hey, you are listening to the best podcast. Uh shout out to the man uh the masters though. Um I'm hoping that uh I'm hoping it all worked out for Rory and uh whoever else that gave it a good shot. What up, boozy? You look tired. What's up, man?
SPEAKER_02I'm so full.
SPEAKER_04So full. The chicken sandwich, we talked about it, huh?
SPEAKER_02Ate that whole damn thing.
SPEAKER_04It was so good. The fries, everybody had a oh, booze! Another thing. A pirate gathering is happening in the French quarters.
SPEAKER_02That's typical. That's a French quarter, man.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04So it's a pirate gathering. That's just like a secret. It's a secret pirate gathering. You don't know about it. I know about it because uh as you can tell by my mustache.
SPEAKER_01You are in the loop.
SPEAKER_04I'm in the loop. I'm in the Rome group.
SPEAKER_02You are in the loop. Oh, man, and I've got the booty. Yep. Yep. I think it's about time we get out of here, home slice. What do you think?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You got everything new?
SPEAKER_04Two weeks of Jazz Fest.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_04Oh, speaking of Jazz Fest, I just want to shout out real quick. Booze, I know you're sleepy, but I want to shout out uh partner of mine, uh Jazz, who passed away about two weeks ago. Um shout out to Big Jazz, uh Jazz Man, and we're gonna hold it down for you. Uh I think his service is tomorrow. Hopefully I can make it. Uh, but yeah. Besides that, happy birthday to Mimi making 93. Hey.
SPEAKER_03She's such a singer.
SPEAKER_04You already know what it is. Mimi is the best. She's making 93 and she's DJing her own party tomorrow.
SPEAKER_02She's DJing her own party.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she has her own CDs that she put in a CD player that.
SPEAKER_02That's fantastic.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So if y'all want to sponsor us and uh be partners with us, please get in touch with us. We all get out of here. Booze is sleepy, she had a long day. She went to the Hogs for the Cause or something.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, I just had to I had to go run across the lake to do my taxes and medical.
SPEAKER_04Across the lake should be like going to Metary for you right now.
SPEAKER_02It's just like on I mean, Slide L is I it's so easy. I've always looked at the trip from Slidell New Orleans in parts. So it's like you got the bridge, that's five minutes. You got no man's land, that's five minutes. You got the east, that's five minutes. You know what I mean? So it's like I look at that drive as just like little five-minute increments, and it always just goes by so quickly. So I don't I don't know. The causeway's the worst.
SPEAKER_05Just you got it.
SPEAKER_04Alright, booze, we're gonna let you go. But uh, I'ma just remind y'all, uh, French Quarter Festival is coming up. Our boy Pal is playing that you got the jokes.
