It's kind of like what Riley, the violinist, and Miles and the T stand are doing, are pretty similar. They're offering a space to gather and to experience the moment together.

I had just gone to Arkansas. I came back to New York and had sort of like a post-trip slump. I was like, fuck, should I move back home? I went to therapy right over there on the corner over there. And my therapist was like, stay curious. Walked out the door, got some food down the street, and then walked over into Marie Hernandez Park when I saw the tea stand. So I sat down too, chatted with Kaylee and Abby, and then uh proceeded to hang out with them for the rest of the day until 4 a.m. Like even just putting the mat on the ground, inviting people to like stick around. Like it'd be one thing to just like kind of give out tea, and people be like, oh, a nice warm beverage as I walk around. But it's like actually the tea is you know symbolic for something that touches you a little deeper.

I feel like I have witnessed people get relief from this space, and I've also witnessed people get such relief in silent and obvious ways over there on that side of Maureen Hernandez.
