Day 9! It's a sunny day with Miles back behind the stand. Sounds include mostly Tara: an Easter egg hunt, Snakes n Ladders and that 'which hand is the rock in' game. Until tomorrow!
Today's day nine.
SPEAKER_04Free tea!
SPEAKER_02Thirty days of free tea in Mary Hernandez Park.
SPEAKER_03Hello, hello. Happy day nine.
SPEAKER_02Happy day nine. It is that time. Noon o'clock.
SPEAKER_03Would you consider yourself a playful person?
SPEAKER_02I think so. I don't know. It's also like I'm mirroring a lot. And a lot of the time I'm mirroring kids. And that's a great way to learn how to be playful.
SPEAKER_03How old are you, Tara?
SPEAKER_04I'm five years old.
SPEAKER_03Tara, what do you think about T?
SPEAKER_00About four. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04What does it sound like? You wanna hear it?
SPEAKER_03Okay, test, test, test. Why do you play?
SPEAKER_04Um, what else am I gonna do? Not play?
SPEAKER_03I don't even know when I could look.
SPEAKER_04You can let it be. What? You tricked me!
SPEAKER_00Play is like not knowing. Play is like I might fall out of this tree that I'm climbing up right now. Play is fear. It is you like you face fear in play.
SPEAKER_03Tara, what the what's she doing up there?
SPEAKER_04She is she swam through a branch.
SPEAKER_03She went all the way up to the tree.
SPEAKER_01I just I think about Tara and her need to play because she's very like, we can't cross the street unless the the the the white walk sign is there. But then she like blossoms when she plays. She's like so creative and like like let's make this, let's do this. And then she's just so in it, she's like, come on, sit with me, do this, dupa da da da, you know? And it's like, oh yeah, like you're having fun in the moment.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I see the pigeons. Yeah. Yeah, should we go to the pigeons?
SPEAKER_00Like it when an orca jumps out of the water. What for the first time? Where does it think it's gonna land? What does it think is gonna happen? And I think kids can play a lot because we don't have senses of fear. And it's fear that stops us. Like, I don't even know you.
unknownI don't even know you like why did you have to say that?
SPEAKER_04It's just it was like why you gotta say that much.
SPEAKER_01That's what it's like to be a child, is like to learn and to be curious.
SPEAKER_06Well you bring out the your childlike self, it brings out your your creativity.
SPEAKER_04What if should we play? Hmm. A cardboard dice. We can play with it. Yeah, let's play.
SPEAKER_01We should play to to get out, to get out of our head and create a new reality.
SPEAKER_04So first you roll the dice, you go how many, and then the snake makes you down, the ladder gets you up. How many steps?
SPEAKER_00The earth is something like deeply serious and earnest, and play is like something such a fun and exciting way to like access that seriousness and earnestness through like humor and imagination.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, like taxes. But yet we have to play. We have to play soccer. We have to dance. And we have to play basketball to just like feel connection to our homies and and yeah, get really present. What else do you want to hear?
SPEAKER_04I wanna hear a friend swinging. Swinging? What do you think? Good.
SPEAKER_03You wanna feel the bark? Sticky. Sticky.
SPEAKER_04Scraping the leaves.
SPEAKER_03Some dogs do, some dogs don't.
SPEAKER_04No, some dogs um just want to be quiet. Look at that dog.
SPEAKER_03Guess what the dog's name is? Mr. Lee. Mr. Lee.
SPEAKER_04So so let's do some great sounds.
SPEAKER_03Some what?
SPEAKER_04Great sounds. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the runner? Did you hear it?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I want to see if there's any more tea left. There's a little bit. Do you want some more water?
SPEAKER_00There's a little table to set up and like.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's so tasty.
SPEAKER_00Cute things to put everything in. And like I played tea shop as a kid. I played tea stand as a kid. Kids put up lemonade stands. That's play. This is a lemonade stand. I didn't play. I've met so many people today and had so many beautiful conversations because we're playing.
SPEAKER_02Well I hope people start hanging around. Oh, oh. People hang. That's part of the mission.
SPEAKER_04Is there any more tea there? Let's check.
SPEAKER_03There is. You want a little bit more hot water for the road? Yeah? Yes. Bye. Is it hanging here with you, Miles?
SPEAKER_02Best day ever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah?
SPEAKER_02Best day ever.
SPEAKER_03Well, how come?
SPEAKER_02I think the pancakes.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're literally making pancakes.
SPEAKER_06You want some pancakes? Ooh.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, it's not being carefree. Because that makes it sound like there's not care and love involved. It's like a love of fun and humor and laughter.
SPEAKER_01You're in the middle of packing up, I don't want to have something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we can do that together. Right? Bouncer.
SPEAKER_01T stands over for another minute.
SPEAKER_02Another minute. I appreciate you. You need some drive carry off. Look at you around. Yeah, come on back.
SPEAKER_03Day nine is done.
SPEAKER_02Best day ever. Yeah? Yeah. I think we can end it after this. It's not gonna get any better. We're gonna have to decide whether we really wanna keep going with tomorrow.
SPEAKER_04What? Day nine.
SPEAKER_02Alright, we'll do it. Woo! Yay! No, day we're I mean double digits. Okay, I'm here with Ziggy.
SPEAKER_03Hello! You're the one taking over the tea stand tomorrow.
SPEAKER_05I I know I'm I'm really eager and and ready to to sip on tea, to talk about tea, to tea with others.
SPEAKER_01I'll see you tomorrow.
