Day 14.

SPEAKER_00

Free tea. Take it up and spina cool.

SPEAKER_04

Same as Jenny.

SPEAKER_02

30 days of free tea in Maria Hernandez Park.

SPEAKER_04

I'm here with Juno. Hello. How are you feeling? Uh hot. It's really hot.

SPEAKER_03

It's gonna be a lot of loud, heavy breathing. You ready? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Come on. Come on. Come on. Tell me about the heat, Miles.

SPEAKER_02

Don't like it.

SPEAKER_01

Woo!

SPEAKER_02

Like everyone is like, oh, it's such a nice day. And I'm like, is it? It's hot.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, I'm gonna do one more. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean as a kid, I would cry every time the sun would come out because my eyes were so sensitive. I I just remember feeling so like overwhelmed by the power of the sun.

SPEAKER_03

That's about all I got. Thank you. The shade has really come over you. Mercy!

unknown

Mercy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you were suffering here, I'll be honest. Did you have body insecurities as a kid?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean I was a really late bloomer. I didn't have puberty until I was going into my junior year of high school. So I was like five foot tall when I was in like tenth grade. And for probably like two or three years, I like every time I looked in the mirror, I was like disappointed.

SPEAKER_04

During certain postures. I walk in and it stinks. It smells so intense. And you know, my classmates were really grossed out. But for me it was really the first time I had ever interacted with a body so objectively. It was like the first time that I had seen bodies truly just as a vessel. As a vessel to experience the life that they had lived.

SPEAKER_01

And angle this way? The other way, other way.

SPEAKER_03

Bravo! Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But it was obvious to me that these bodies, these people, they weren't still there. They weren't still in their bodies. There was something else that had left them.

SPEAKER_00

Hi, yeah, yay.

SPEAKER_04

And that day changed my life.

SPEAKER_02

Just the sheer density of this city means that we need to be intimate with one another. I've had several conversations here where people are saying things I I don't think they've ever shared to anybody before. It feels essential to practice non-judgment out of respect for the history of this place and this park and its people. It's an honor for people to share anything at all. Thank you for sharing your humanity with me.

SPEAKER_03

Check your phone. 559! I'll get it, I'll get it lined up. Yeah, you gotta get ready. Ten more seconds.

unknown

I checked my phone.

SPEAKER_04

It's six.

SPEAKER_02

Two weeks. Two weeks. Two weeks.

SPEAKER_04

He's dancing for the audio listeners.
