Day 20! Sounds include David, thoughts on relationships, and mostly laughs. Until tomorrow.

Let me know what you think of this episode.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Day twenty.

SPEAKER_01

Free tea. Big it up and split up.

SPEAKER_02

30 days of free tea in Mary Hernandez Park. Day 20. We've entered the twos. We've entered the twos.

SPEAKER_07

What eggs did you get? Oh Sunshine Farms Organic Medium Eggs. 429 at Green Valley. Only organic? Only organic? Oh yeah, sorry. I couldn't do better than that. You gotta get uh organic pasture raise. Pasture raised. It's the last of my savings.

SPEAKER_06

You guys know each other?

SPEAKER_02

I mean I'm here setting up the bigger.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

But we uh what do you think of David?

SPEAKER_07

I think David is a great big brother. Yeah. And he knows what he wants. What do you think of Liz over here? Oh, she's great.

SPEAKER_02

That's the white.

SPEAKER_06

I like how she feels like. What's the most important relationship in your life, David? Okay, maybe. So it's like a group of people walking my shelf.

SPEAKER_07

Running, walking, dancing. It's kind of like we get lead in. Being able to forgive my shelf. Design with.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, it's supposed to be good?

SPEAKER_06

How important are relationships to you?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's the most important thing. And that's what this is all built on. It's all like it the reason it's not a business is because we care more about relationships than money. Care more about people than profit. Of course. We've got to do that.

SPEAKER_06

What do you think of this budding relationship you have here with the tea stand?

SPEAKER_04

I think it's uh yeah, I think it's a um you know, it's kind of like a poly type of thing, like the tea stand, you know. It's like I can see other tea stands. If I went to another tea stand, like I wouldn't feel like and I hope you guys wouldn't feel uh offended if you're not sure. Would you miles? Not at all. Yeah. Please feel free. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Do you feel like the tea stand in some ways has taken over the other parts of your life?

SPEAKER_02

Definitely. Yeah. And I welcome that for the most part. It's great. I I I I do love it. This is like my favorite thing to do.

SPEAKER_01

But also, I have a life outside of this, increasingly little of one, but what you m you laughing at me my pain.

SPEAKER_07

I was just started laughing, I guess, when he started saying increasingly little time. Like this is this is you're just stuck here.

SPEAKER_02

At the tea stand? Yeah. Let me out!

SPEAKER_07

So many people start to help me. He's my pal mouse, okay? I met him at a on a Craigslist act.

SPEAKER_06

How do you infuse fun into the tea stand miles?

SPEAKER_08

Oh there's a little bit. Wait. Is this a video or a little silly?

SPEAKER_02

Like I'm sitting in a little chair and there's a tiny little table, and there's a tiny little spoon with a tiny little teacup. So it's it's all pretty cute. There's not a whole lot of like thinking involved.

SPEAKER_06

What is it? What are you looking at?

SPEAKER_07

Who is that? Is that you? All you need is a fan video.

SPEAKER_06

You like your little brother? He's just hilarious. Why bike, Miles?

SPEAKER_02

It's the only way to get from A to B with so much T. I used to freestyle a lot in college.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah. I feel like I Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. You got any songs about bikes? Like bicycles or uh of course and just rode them. Really?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Let me figure out what what about bikes? Because I rode it, but I gotta have your input.

SPEAKER_03

I mean how beautiful riding a bike. Oh beautiful. The backs on they ride. They ride through Maria with uh you guys got any more uh things I got uh free free wheel.

SPEAKER_00

There are free wheel bikes you I don't care about it.

SPEAKER_02

For me, the most fun, honestly, is when someone behaves in an absurd way. I collect your fingerprint when I can't do the cleaner. Like I've had some of the most memorable and fun moments at the tea stand have been when I'm interacting with people who we're just on such different pages, and I'm like, can I get to your page? Can I feel what it's like to be you for this brief moment? Like I remember this one guy he came up super slow. He was moving like a snail. So painfully slow. Like it's like five minutes leading up to this moment. Finally, he gets to me, and he hand he's already holding a cup of coffee, and he hands me the cup of coffee, and he says, Please, sir, one cup of tea. And so I close my eyes, and I'm like, I am now transmuting this cup of coffee into the most delicious cup of tea. And we kind of wait there with our eyes closed for like 20 seconds, and I open my eyes, and his eyes are still closed, so I'm like, okay, I close my eyes again, keep waiting. And then after a minute, I tenderly extend my hands out and offer him what is now a cup of tea. Oh yeah. And he says, thank you so much and walks away.

SPEAKER_08

Alright, bye David. Bye David.

SPEAKER_06

Talk about theater kids playing sports because we're all theater kids and we're terrible at sports. Okay, cool. Yeah. Okay, ready? 5 6 sexy eight.

SPEAKER_05

One, two, three, three.

SPEAKER_06

What do you think of his curls here?

SPEAKER_05

His curls? I was just thinking about it.

SPEAKER_08

I would sense that. Are you sure? Yeah, five, six, sexy, eight.

SPEAKER_02

And the mystery box. How can we forget the mystery box? It's so fun. And it it's it, I think that's very like that comes up every single interaction, and I think that's a big indicator of like what's going on here is not taking itself too seriously. And we can really lean into that if you want.

SPEAKER_08

Obviously, mystery box.

SPEAKER_02

People care so much more about the experience. Like they pay way closer attention, they're smelling it, they're like all their friends are like, oh, can I try? Can you guess what it is? And even if it's the most like ordinary run-of-the-mill tea, it's still this like source of excitement and curiosity. And I choose from one of the three. Yeah, you can see. Are they the same? No. Well, probably not. It's like beginners' minds, you know, like you're experiencing the thing for the first time. Just because you don't have the name and the name brings with it the expectations. I also I feel like I get bored. And I'm just like, I've had enough of giving the same answer. So with this person, I'm just gonna say something weird and see if they respond. What's yellow tea? Yellow tea is very similar to green tea, but it's slightly different.

SPEAKER_06

With the boredom, you could be scrolling. Instead, you're joking around with strangers.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, way better. Way better. Way better than screens. And there's like it's also sitting in silence with strangers is also like solid. Eight out of ten. As much free tea as possible. Six oh one. Six oh one. Shut it down. The tea stand is closed.
