Day twenty-five.
SPEAKER_00Day twenty-five tea.
SPEAKER_07Free tea spot on food.
SPEAKER_01Thirty days of free tea in Mary Hernandez Park.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god. Hey.
SPEAKER_03Can't see me as easily with your umbrella hat, can you? How are you feeling?
SPEAKER_01Pretty good. Yeah. We just gotta sit in that chair for six hours. Can't be that hard, right?
SPEAKER_04Cue challenging montage. I can't take it anymore. Miles has got the poncho on.
SPEAKER_01Oh it stinks. With the umbrella hat, this is gonna be too much. This is starting to get wet. Starting to get a little cold. You know. My hands are cold.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh. Oh fuck. What time is it? One.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03One hour in.
SPEAKER_04Jose. Oh.
SPEAKER_02I love the rain. It helps you reflect on the pain.
SPEAKER_07Ooh.
SPEAKER_02It get ri it gets rid of stains.
SPEAKER_01This is off the brain. Oh. Off the top. My head is looking like a mop.
SPEAKER_02Ooh. There's no time to waste. TikTok.
SPEAKER_07What do you got? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Is that the Bushwick pigeon flock?
SPEAKER_07Ooh! Coming down.
SPEAKER_02You remember when you were a kid, you just like jump into puddles? Man, that's so fun. It's like a free water park almost. So you can come up with so many games in the rain. In the rain. And you won't go insane. You see so much beauty in the rain. Sometimes you gotta like step outside and then feel it like touch your skin.
SPEAKER_04How does it feel to come out here in the rain, Jose, and still see Miles? Happy because if he could do it, anybody could do it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah! Like even if it's like boring down, you're gonna try to do it every day this month. That's right. Not try. Well you're doing it, you're doing it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know, sometimes you gotta go through discomfort to make you know to make things happen. And he's going through a discomfort right now.
SPEAKER_01Love you too. Perfect time for tea. I know, seriously. Might be like five minutes because uh limited dexterity. Yes.
SPEAKER_02You know, his hands are like you know, you know, they're turning into ice a little bit, but hey, he's still serving tea, and look at the price side. He's about to get people walking up to him and saying, You're doing this out in the rain? That's incredible, man. We're about to donate like $50 right now just because we believe in this shit.
SPEAKER_03I mean, did you see the smile I had walking up to you?
SPEAKER_02That way this comfort teaches you where your potential is. It pushes you to the limit. You know what I mean? Like that inner tiger or or or lion or or or dragon within you that like unleashes Paige?
SPEAKER_01Like I feel very like stiff and tense right now. Like when I stand up, my my legs are like sore almost. And like that energy just has to go somewhere. Like I could I feel it right now. I want to scream at the top of my lungs.
SPEAKER_02You could dance in the rain? Yeah. Remember dancing in the rain? You ever watch those movies? People just like dancing in the rain and stuff. Why?
SPEAKER_05In the cold and in the rain and in the discomfort. Just sometimes the sillies come out. What do you think?
SPEAKER_07There's no pain.
SPEAKER_01I think it's like you lose control a little bit. Like the the part of you that's just going about your day-to-day in a very high-functioning way. The artifices disappear. Being in the extreme cold, it's like you need to kind of reanimate yourself before you freeze.
SPEAKER_05Gotta melt it down with a little bit of rhythm.
SPEAKER_02I want tea. I want tea. I want tea. Ooh! You must be gone!
SPEAKER_06You're changing your mind now. Tell me about freestyling. Tell me about rhyming.
SPEAKER_02I said rhyming?
SPEAKER_06Yes. Why? Why rhyme?
SPEAKER_02Because it's fun. And it kind of helps you creatively voice how you feel. You gotta release it. Just like the rain. Don't got no pain. Don't got no pain. It's all in the brain. I don't got no fame. But my fortune is the people around me, and that's my game.
SPEAKER_06Greg and JW are back. They got a bag of food. A bag of soup. And you know what? He don't got money. He don't gotta pay because he's got Fran's name, Greg and JW.
SPEAKER_01So good. Wait, what's this bottle bomb? We can't tell you what we are. Wow.
SPEAKER_00Camellia's back. How hungry are you? Oh my gosh. More food! Oh my gosh. Let's also noodles. No way. Yeah, and some homemade bread. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Amelia, you're the best. Thank you so much. So sweet and how are the noodles taste in the house?
SPEAKER_02Amazing. It's the best noodles I've had in a while.
SPEAKER_04Oh. Joy and Arnie. I brought you. Oh my god! I brought you miso soup. Miso soup, more soup is dry.
SPEAKER_05An overwhelming amount of love.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Tears rolling down his face. Like backwards. I don't know. I'm overwhelmed too. So sweet.
SPEAKER_01Core three.
SPEAKER_05Oh my goodness. How are you feeling, Miles?
SPEAKER_01This is unbelievable. I'm I'm I'm overcome.
SPEAKER_03That's so sweet, you guys.
SPEAKER_07I really needed it to be a room on the table.
SPEAKER_02I had Ola tea. I had soup and we we had rhymes.
SPEAKER_01Just to like be out here serving tea and have all of these people who I know in different ways in my life come with arms full of like hot soup and cookies. So touching. Alright, tea time. Earlier today there was a lot of soup. So many people around me, it felt like a coop. It's like bumpers in the bowling alley. Like I feel like I would just be in the gutter. But the rhyming kinda keeps me bouncing back and forth. So many people, what's the difference between me and you?
unknownOoh.
SPEAKER_04Like a gutter. Don't gotta stutter. We out here in the cold. Ooh, ooh. I'm about to be bold and stir the tea. Don't gotta be crazy. Come on.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to sing no treble clefts. I'm just out here trying to do my best. Serving tea, man. This ain't no crime. I'm just out here trying to rhyme. What would you do if you really could drop it all down and open up the hood? I saw my man Errol and I saw my man Nate.
SPEAKER_05What time is it?
SPEAKER_01It's 6 01, so we're one minute late. Oh closing up shop, no more tea today.
SPEAKER_076 01. It's 6 01.
SPEAKER_01I'm dropping the mic. That's all I gotta say.
