Welcome to Ask Velvet. Now let me tell y'all something. This morning I didn't even need an alarm clock. I'm laying in my bed, already halfway awake, trying to decide if I'm gonna get up or not. And my neighbor said, Oh you up today because baby the arguing loud. I'm talking front row seat surround sound. No subscription needed. I don't even know what the argument was about, but it was loud enough for the whole neighborhood to tune in. And that's when it hit me. Living in the hood, you don't need TV. You really don't. Folks be asking me, did you watch this show? Did you watch that? And I'm like, why? I got live entertainment right outside my door twenty four seven. No commercials, no reruns, just real life. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes that entertainment can be a bit much. But other times it's just part of the environment. It's the stories, the people, the energy. You see life in real time. Me, I'll sit out on my porch, front or back and just observe. Not in nobody's business, but just take it in the world around me. Because whether we admit it or not, there's something real about it. It keeps you grounded. But this morning I had to step outside not just because of the noise, but because I needed peace. It was cool out, calm, like the kind of morning that reminds you to slow down for a second. And that's when I did what I always do. I prayed. See, before I check my phone, before I get into anything, I give thanks. Because the truth is waking up is already a blessing. Being able to breathe, to think, to move, that's not something to take lightly. When you start your day with prayer, it does something to your spirit. It centers you, it protects you, it prepares you for whatever may come your way. And I don't care what kind of environment you're in. Peace starts within you. Let's take a moment together. Heavenly Father, thank you for waking us up this morning. Thank you for the gift of life, for breath in our bodies and clarity in our minds. Lord, I ask that you cover every listener right now. No matter where they are or what they're going through, bring them peace. Quiet the noise around them and the noise within them. Give them strength for today, wisdom in their decisions, and protection as they move throughout their day. If they're dealing with stress, replace it with calm. If they're facing challenges, remind them that they are not alone. Lord, guide their steps, guard their hearts, and keep them safe. And most importantly, help them to remember that every new day is another chance, another blessing, and another opportunity to grow. In your name, I pray.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Amen, amen, amen. So as you go through your day today, remember this.
SPEAKER_00No matter how loud the world gets around you, you can still find your peace. Start your day with gratitude, start your day with prayer, and watch how different everything begins to feel. Thank you for tuning in to Ask Velvet, where real life meets real talk. And I'll catch y'all in the next episode.
