Welcome back everyone to Ask Velvet Podcast. I hope you're doing well. On today's episode, I want to talk about something I'm really excited about. The upcoming Capitol Pride Parade here in Washington DC. This year, I'll be participating in the parade, and I can't wait to experience all of the excitement, energy, and celebration that comes with it. If you've never been to Capitol Pride, it's one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the city, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate love, diversity, inclusion, and the freedom to be yourself. I also want to let my listeners know that if you can't make it to the parade in person, you'll still be able to follow along with me throughout the day. I'll be posting photos, videos, and updates on my Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channel. So you'll be able to see the parade in real time and experience the festivities right alongside me. Before we talk about this year's parade, let's take a moment to appreciate the history behind Capitol Pride. Capitol Pride has been a tradition in Washington, D.C. for decades. What began as a way for members of the LGBTQ community to come together and celebrate their identities has grown into one of the largest pride celebrations in the country. The event honors the progress that has been made toward equality while also recognizing the work that still remains. The parade is more than colorful floats and great music. It represents visibility, acceptance, resilience, and community. For many people, pride is a chance to celebrate who they are openly and proudly. For others, it's an opportunity to show support as allies and stand alongside friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors. What I love most about Capitol Pride is how it brings together people. You'll see families, community groups, organizations, businesses, performers, and people from every background coming together for one shared purpose: celebrating love and unity. As someone who will be participating in the parade this year, I'm looking forward to seeing the floats, meeting new people, taking lots of pictures, and simply enjoying the atmosphere. Events like this remind us how important community can be. And again, if you want to see everything as it happens, make sure you're following me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. I'll be sharing videos, behind the scenes moments, and my personal experience throughout the day so you won't miss a thing. As we get closer to Capitol Pride, my excitement continues to grow. Whether you're attending in person, watching online, or simply supporting from wherever you are, I hope you'll take a moment to appreciate what this celebration represents. I'll be back after the parade with a special episode where I'll share my experience, the highlights of the day, and some of the memorable moments I witnessed during the celebration. Until then, stay safe, be kind, celebrate who you are, and don't forget to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for live updates and exclusive content from Capitol Pride. Thank you for listening, and I'll talk to you again soon.
