Welcome back to Ask Velvet Podcast. As I always say, I'm going to keep giving you life updates. And since it was my birthday, I wanted to share a little bit about how I spent my special day. I woke up feeling incredibly blessed, thankful, and grateful to see another year. When birthdays come around, a lot of people have big plans. They want to go out, party, celebrate, hit the clubs, have drinks, and be surrounded by a crowd of people. But this year that wasn't what I wanted. Did I do anything spectacular for my birthday? No, not really. And honestly, I'm perfectly okay with that. This year I spent my birthday doing something that felt just as valuable. I rested, I relaxed, I enjoyed my space and my peace. I spent most of the day on my couch and out on my front porch. I took naps, I cleared my mind, and gave myself an opportunity to recharge mentally, emotionally, and physically. It was a quiet day, but sometimes those are the best days. As I've gotten older, I've realized that going out and partying isn't always as appealing as it once was. It's not just the crowds or the noise, it's everything that comes with it. You have to get dressed, make sure you look good, figure out where you're going, deal with the traffic, deal with the crowds, and then spend a lot of money. Let's be honest for a moment. Going out for drinks can get expensive quickly. You can easily spend fifty, sixty, or even close to a hundred dollars on drinks alone. Then you add food to the bill, and suddenly you've spent far more than you planned. Sometimes it's just easier and more affordable to stay home, enjoy your own space, and if you want a drink, have one at home without paying restaurant and bar prices. And I have to admit, I enjoyed not having to get dressed up. I enjoyed not having to rush anywhere. I enjoyed not having to impress anybody. I simply got to be myself in the comfort of my own home. There was something refreshing about sitting on my porch, enjoying the fresh air and appreciating the quiet moments. Those moments reminded me how important it is to slow down sometimes. Of course, I also spent part of my birthday doing something I truly love, working on my podcast, this podcast. Now that I have listeners who enjoy hearing my thoughts and stories, I find myself constantly thinking about new topics, new conversations, and new ways to connect with all of you. So while some people may have spent their birthday at a party, I spent mine reflecting, relaxing, and thinking about the future of this podcast and the conversations I want to continue having with you. As I wrap this episode, I just want to say that birthdays don't always have to be grand or expensive to be meaningful. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself is rest. Sometimes the best celebration is peace, quiet, and gratitude. This birthday reminded me that happiness doesn't always come from being out in the world. Sometimes it comes from simply being comfortable in your own space, appreciating what you have and taking time to recharge. I am thankful for another year of life. I am thankful for my home, my peace, my health, and for every person who takes the time to listen to this podcast. Thank you all for continuing this journey with me. More episodes are on the way, more conversations are coming, and I look forward to sharing them with you. Until next time, take care of yourself, appreciate the simple moments, protect your peace, and remember that sometimes the best celebration is simply being grateful to be here.
