Hey everyone. Welcome back to Ask Velvet Podcast. I hope you're doing well and having an amazing day. On today's episode, I'm talking about something I'm really excited about. This month, I'll be participating in the Capitol Pride Parade right here in Washington, DC. And I cannot wait. This will actually be my second time participating in the parade. I walked in it last year and had an incredible experience. This year, I'll once again be joining Mayor Muriel Bowser's group. And I'm looking forward to celebrating, supporting the LGBTQ Plus community, and being part of one of the biggest and most colorful events in the city. So today I want to share why I'm excited what I'm planning to wear and what you can expect from me after the parade is over. Now, if you've never been to the Capitol Pride Parade, let me tell you, it's one big celebration. The energy is amazing, the people are welcoming, and there's just so much joy throughout the entire event. Like I said, I participated last year and I had a fantastic time. Interestingly enough, last year's parade actually fell on my birthday, which made it even more special. This year, it's not on my birthday, but that's okay because I'm still bringing the birthday energy with me. I'm planning to wear my birthday crown, my birthday sash, a colorful tutu, colorful socks, and colorful shoes. In other words, I'm going all out. If I'm showing up, I'm showing up in style. One of the reasons I enjoy participating is because I support the LGBTQ community. I believe people should be able to love who they love and marry who they want to marry. Love is love, and everyone deserves respect and the freedom to live their lives authentically. Of course, the parade is also a lot of work. It's a long walk, and I remember last year being completely exhausted by the time it was over. I actually needed some medical assistance afterward because I was so tired and drained. Thankfully, it wasn't anything serious. I just needed some help recovering from all that walking and excitement. So this year I'm already preparing myself mentally and physically because I know it's going to be another long day. But honestly, it's worth it. The experience, the people, the atmosphere, and the sense of community make it something I look forward to every year. I'll also be taking notes throughout the event so that when I come back on the podcast, I can give you all the details. I'll share what it was like, what I saw, how the crowd was, and all the behind the scenes moments that you don't get to experience unless you're actually there. So that's what I'm looking forward to this month. I'm excited, I'm ready, and I can't wait to participate in the Capitol Pride Parade once again. Make sure you continue following and subscribing to the podcast because after the parade, I'll be back with a full recap and all the details from the day. Trust me, you'll want to hear about it. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for your continued support. And as always, take care of yourselves, be kind to one another, and keep spreading love wherever you go. Until next time, I'll talk to you all in the next episode. Bye, everybody.
