A Little Background Noise…..A Whole Lot Of Love

Welcome back to the Ask Velvet Podcast. I'm so glad you're here with me today. Whether you're listening on your morning commute, relaxing at home, or sitting on your own front porch somewhere, thank you for spending a little bit of your day with me. Before we get into today's episode, I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with all of you. If you have been listening to my podcast for a while, you may notice that every now and then you hear a little background noise. It might be the television, it might be little voices, it might be laughter, footsteps or the sounds of children just being children. If you hear those sounds, I want you to know exactly what they are. Those are my grandchildren. As many of you know, I'm in a different season of life right now. My daughter and my grandchildren have moved back home with me, and our house is full again. That means it's not always quiet. It means life is happening all around me. Finding a completely silent place to record has become a challenge. Now I know some people would say, why don't you just record late at night? Well, I could. Like many of you, sometimes I just want to sit down, relax, and let my mind rest for a while. Some evenings, by the time my grandchildren are asleep, I'm ready to call it a day myself. So most of my recordings happen early in the morning before my day gets started. Other times I record whenever I can find a quiet moment. But life doesn't always pause just because I'm recording. And honestly, I'm okay with that. Because what you're hearing isn't just background noise. You're hearing life, you're hearing family, you're hearing a house that's filled with love. This season has taught me patience, flexibility, and the importance of making room for the people we love. I have always believed that as long as I have a roof over my head, my children will always have a place to come home to if they need it. I refuse to let any of my children become homeless if I can help it. That's simply who I am. Has it changed my daily routine? Absolutely. Has it made recording my podcast more challenging? Without a doubt. But has it also reminded me how blessed I am to have a home that can provide safety, comfort, and love? It certainly has. So if you hear little voices in the background from time to time, I hope you'll smile right along with me. Those sounds remind me that I'm living through a season that won't last forever. One day the house will be quiet again, and I'll probably miss hearing those little footsteps and those little giggles. Life has seasons. Some seasons are quiet, some seasons are loud, some seasons stretch our patience, but every season has something to teach us. So thank you for your understanding, thank you for your patience, and thank you for continuing to support the Ask Velvet Podcast through every chapter and every season of my life.
