Intro

Welcome to Cue the Real, the podcast to get unstuck and manifest the life that's calling you.
I’m your host, Lindsay Brand, a military veteran who built success in the private sector until the Universe guided me to something deeper, helping people move from stuck to fully aligned through manifestation.

I blend neuroscience, personal stories, and the most practical tools to shine a light on what’s holding you back so you can manifest the life you truly want.

Hey friends, most people chase money like it’s a finish line. They hustle, they plan, they stress, yet it shows up in unexpected ways, or sometimes, not at all. Why does that happen?

What if I told you it’s not about effort or discipline? There’s something deeper at play, something happening inside your body, in your nervous system, that decides whether money can flow to you or not.

Money doesn’t respond to how hard you work for it. It responds to how available you are for it. And availability isn’t a mindset, it’s a state.

Today, I’m going to show you what the saying “money is energy” really means in the first episode of a three part series. You’ll see why chasing numbers doesn’t work, why feeling safe matters more than thinking positive, and a tiny, actionable way to start noticing where your money is stuck.

By the end of this episode, you’ll never think about money the same way again. First, we have to start with something most people overlook entirely.

Let’s cue the real.

The First Signal
It feels kind of nuts that it's taken almost 100 episodes for money to show up here on this show. But I only ever talk about what I feel called to talk about and that could be what’s happening in my life or what pops up in my mind naturally. Lately, money keeps appearing, so I’m answering the call. This week, each episode is going to be about manifesting money in a three part series. This first episode is specifically about the energy money has.

So, let’s start with a truth you might recognize. Money shows up in ways we expect. Money shows up in ways we don’t expect. Sometimes it comes fast. Sometimes it takes its time. You put in effort. You follow the plan. Still, it’s always different than you imagined.

People often think they’re blocked from money but they’re just loyal to the emotional identity they’ve always carried around it. And money tends to stay consistent with who you believe you are, not what you say you want.

That experience can feel confusing, frustrating, or even exciting to some people. This might be the first time some of you have even considered how money arrives and it can make you pause and wonder “what is really happening here?”

Before we dive into what makes money move, let’s take a moment and check in with yourself. How does thinking about money make your body feel? There’s no right or wrong answer here. Just notice. Let yourself observe without judgment. This moment of awareness is the first step.

This is where the episode begins, with curiosity. With attention. With tuning into what’s happening inside you. Feeling it sets the stage for understanding how money flows.

Because money reflects the energy you carry, appearing differently depending on how steady or curious you feel in any given moment.

When people say “money is energy,” what they really mean is: money mirrors your certainty. It mirrors how safe you feel having it and whether you treat it as stable or fragile.

If you treat money like something unpredictable, it will feel unpredictable. If you treat it like something that slips away, you’ll experience it that way. Money often follows the emotional pattern you expect from it.

It shows up in small decisions, the way you consider a purchase, the way you invest your time, and in those moments, your feelings guide what unfolds.

Some moments feel easy and expansive while others are not so great, but those not-so-great moments are signaling where attention and alignment need care. For instance when I say “rent” or “car payment” or “water bill”. I bet most people have a negative feeling in their body as a response to those things.

If you shift your mindset about them though, you can change how you feel. More about that in a bit.

Clarity and curiosity shape the way money moves, and awareness of your feelings gives insight into the patterns that are influencing results.

A Small Shift Can Change Everything
So, noticing your energy is step one. The next step is choice. You can experiment with small adjustments that send a clear signal to yourself and to the Universe that you are ready to receive.

Start with something simple. Pick one financial interaction today. Maybe it’s paying a bill or thinking about a purchase. Before you act, pause. Take a breath and notice how your body feels. Then, deliberately bring curiosity or ease into that moment. Move through it with attention instead of rushing past your feelings.

Let’s use one of those examples I mentioned before so I can show you how to do this. Let’s say your rent is due and it brings you not-so-great feelings because it’s your biggest expense and having that much money coming out of your account is uncomfortable.

Let’s think about it differently together. Rent gives you a place to sleep, a place to cook food, and a place to shelter you from weather. It gives you a place to be, to live, feel safe hopefully, and call your own. That changes things right? You’re no longer thinking about it like a number or a big number. You’re thinking about what it brings you and the emotions from what it brings you. And those things I mentioned, safety, shelter, sleep, those should all be bringing in good emotions and change your mind about how you are spending your money. You can even go further and think about how you are paying a landlord who can then use that money to pay for their livelihood. They probably have a family to feed, their own place to pay for, kids going to college etc. What they can do then, is an extension of you.

Now this isn’t about pretending rent feels amazing. It’s about removing the moral charge from it.

Most people unconsciously label money leaving as “bad” and money arriving as “good.” But money is neutral. It’s movement. When you pay rent, money is circulating. Circulation isn’t loss, its flow. And flow is what you say you want when you say you want abundance.

If you only feel expansive when money comes in but constricted when it goes out, you’re signaling inconsistency. And money responds to consistency.

Tiny shifts like this create real momentum. Changing the tone of one interaction rewires how your nervous system responds and how your emotional energy flows. The more you are able to do this, the more the effect multiplies.

The key is consistency in small moments. This is the part of manifestation that I really love, because anything could pop up in life and give you the opportunity to start acting differently, to start making different choices. And each choice becomes a data point, showing you what feels expansive and what creates friction inside of you.

Working With the Stories Around Money
Okay, I know some of you are thinking, “That’s great and all, but what about these negative thoughts and beliefs that keep coming up that I can’t seem to move past?” Those stories carry energy. They show up as worry, pressure, doubt, many different things. The goal isn’t to fight them off, it’s to work with them.

Some of those stories weren’t created by you. Maybe you grew up hearing that wealthy people are selfish. Or that wanting more makes you greedy. Or that money creates distance between people. If any part of you believes wealth changes you for the worse, your system won’t fully allow you to hold it.

Start by saying what your story is. Maybe it’s “I’ll never have enough” or “I always overspend.” Say it to yourself and notice the emotions that come up. Then, ask yourself: “what is this story trying to teach me about how I handle money? Where does it come from?” Childhood, past experiences, patterns you’ve repeated, all of it has shaped this story.

Next, I want you to experiment with shifting your perspective. Take the same story and add context or a fresh lens. For example, “I always overspend” can become, “I care about my life, my comfort, and my experience. I can make choices that honor that.” Small changes like this reframe old energy and create space for new ways of relating to money.

And here’s a harder question: Are you devoted to wealth, or are you casually hoping for it? Devotion doesn’t mean obsession. It means you’ve decided money is safe for you. It’s allowed for you. It doesn’t make you better than anyone and it doesn’t make you wrong.

You cannot expand into something you secretly judge.

Each time you practice, your nervous system begins to trust that money and your energy can coexist peacefully. Over time, these stories become data points too, rather than roadblocks, guiding you toward choices that feel expansive and aligned.

Money responds to certainty more than effort. Not forced certainty. Not hype. Calm certainty, the kind that doesn’t flinch when money moves out of your account.

If you’re feeling called out in this episode in a loving way, send this to someone who talks about wanting more money but still feels weird about it. We’re not shaming the desire for wealth anymore. We are normalizing it.

To wrap up, today, you stepped into your energy around money, noticed the stories that show up, and played with small shifts in perspective. Those moments will start to change how money moves in your life, even if you don’t see it immediately.

Money moves when your internal state stabilizes.

Remember your practice: pick one money-related moment today, a bill, a purchase, or just thinking about savings. Pause and feel it. Notice the story attached. Shift your perspective and move through it with curiosity. Every time you do this, your nervous system learns a new way to respond. Consider it an opportunity to show the Universe who you are.

Let me be the first to remind you that change happens in the ordinary, everyday moments of life. That’s where transformation lives.

In the next episode, we’ll layer identity on top of this foundation work and you’ll learn how to turn your awareness into a practical step that gets money moving your way.

I’ll see you in the next one.
