Manifestation feels stuck when control over outcomes and timing takes over the process. This episode explores why overthinking the how blocks alignment and keeps results from landing.

Most people assume they need more clarity, more effort, or a better plan. What really keeps manifestation from moving is the constant mental tracking of how and when it'll happen.

In this episode, I break down why trying to control the how in manifestation keeps you stuck in cycles of effort, frustration, and second-guessing. You’ll understand what changes when you stop trying to map every step and start recognizing what is actually yours to hold versus what is not.

I also talk about what aligned action looks like in real life, and how to tell the difference between movement that supports your direction versus movement that comes from pressure and control.

If manifestation has felt inconsistent, delayed, or confusing, press play to level up your understanding.

Intro
Welcome to Cue the Real, the podcast to get unstuck and manifest the life that's calling you. I’m your host, Lindsay Brand, a military veteran who built success in the private sector until the Universe guided me to something deeper, helping people move from stuck to fully aligned through manifestation. I blend neuroscience, personal stories, and the most practical tools to shine a light on what’s holding you back so you can manifest the life you truly want.

Hey Friends,
One of the places I see people get stuck most often in manifestation is when they’re trying to figure out the “how”. This is where most people burn themselves out. It’s a trap really, to get caught up in this situation where you figure out something you want and start plotting out every point to get there. But that isn’t what gets you there.
So today, I’m going to talk about how to let go of the “how” and the “when” of manifestation and why it is so important to do so to get what you desire.
Let’s cue the real.

Music

I’m gonna be real with you here as I always am. Letting go of the how and when of a manifestation is probably the hardest part of manifesting for me.
This is the part that feels the most responsible and ends up being the most exhausting.
It’s hard to not get caught up in the excitement of it all right?
You have something you really want to happen and you’re all about it. It’s on your mind all the time and you then start to try to figure out every angle to make this thing happen when that was never your role.
I like to think of manifestation like this: You have a destination you want to travel to. You know exactly what it’s like there so you plan the trip aka you have a desire.
Now, you know the destination but you don’t know how to get there. You don’t know the steps leading up to it. You have an idea of aligned actions you could take but not the route so you hire a trip planner. The universe is your trip planner. It knows all the routes and all the places and it has your best interest in mind. So, you leave the how and when up to your trip planner.
Now, I know many people struggle with the difference between taking aligned action and taking action that is putting pressure on the situation or forcing it to come unnaturally. I have also struggled with this in the past with wanting to control everything because it feels like the responsible thing to do. It feels productive, like you’re doing something to make it happen. But doesn’t it feel nice sometimes to not be the responsible person and know in your heart that everything is going to play out how you want?
Let me give you an example of aligned action versus forced action. Let’s say you go to this specialty grocery store every few weeks or so to pick up a couple of items you can’t get anywhere else. During one of your trips, you see someone that you think might be your special person.
So, you decide you’re going to shop there exclusively now to make sure you run into this person again. Even though it's out of your price range, not convenient, and only open certain days. You start adjusting your life around the possibility of them. That’s forcing it.
Now, if you continue doing your regular shopping at your favorite store that is affordable, near your house and open all the time, exactly what you want and need, and you go to this specialty store only when you actually need to and you just so happen to run into them again, that is natural. That’s taking an aligned action.
You are going through the normal motions of your life and things start popping up. You aren’t manipulating your life to make them show up. You’re living, and it meets you there.
Okay, so now that we understand why it’s not our job to figure out the how and when and what aligned action could look like, let’s talk about how to not obsess over mostly everything being out of your hands.
It can feel crazy leaving something this important to something else. This is especially true if you have trust issues.
I want to tell you what I do to keep my mind from trying to plan and force every little step along the way.
Bottom line: I distract myself. I don’t mean that I scroll on social media, watch endless tv shows, or any other unhealthy, avoidant behavior. I find something I am wholly interested in, something I thoroughly enjoy doing. It could be reading a certain genre, going to the gym more often, looking up a topic I’m interested in and then taking action on whatever it is. Taking up a new hobby, visiting new places. Whatever I’m interested in, I let myself be fully involved in it. So much so, that I forget what I was even obsessing over to begin with.
This is why the distractions you give yourself really have to be something you enjoy. You can’t just throw yourself into something time consuming because it’ll pass the time. It has to be something your brain will be fully submerged in and wants more of. Otherwise you’ll spend time doing something time consuming while you’re still obsessing over how and when your manifestation is going to come to be.
I don’t know about you but I would rather be busy doing something I love and am engrossed in and look up and realize I am at the destination than be looking around and searching and wondering and calculating my every move until I get there.
And I want to be clear that just because you distract yourself, does not mean your brain won’t think about it at all. You just need to be consistent in reassuring your brain that you don’t have to think about it, that you know it’s coming.
It’s like one of the things Abraham Hicks says about rockets of desire. As soon as you have a desire, a rocket is launched. That’s it, it’s on it’s way. In their words “it is done”. There is no reason for you to keep thinking about it because eventually, that rocket is going to come down.
So, when you have thoughts about it, reassure yourself in any way that you know will work for your brain. Some examples I like to use are:
If it’s mine, it’s already finding me.
There’s no competition on the spiritual plane.
Everything is always working out for me.
What’s meant to be mine, will be mine.
And, I will have this or something better.
And when you really let that idea sink in, you stop chasing and managing and trying to hold it all together. You finally get to live your life while it all comes together.

I hope you’ve been enjoying the latest episodes I’ve been putting out. The topics are really what I’m working through right now and have always in the past. Just getting them out of my mind onto paper and then out with my voice to you all, is so helpful and I just hope that it’s as helpful for you to hear these real life woes and struggles of manifestation and know that you are not alone in this in how you think and how you feel.
Please take a second to leave a review if this show is changing how you see your life.
And remember: Your job is to choose it, not control how it arrives.
Until next time.
