Canadian Bandstand

American Bandstand was an iconic television show that ran for almost 4 decades,  making it one of the most successful shows in television history.  First Aired in          Philadelphia in 1952 it was a weekly feature until 1989. A Top 40’s music show, Hosted by Dick Clark, it was the first show that catered to a Teenage audience.

It featured the newest music, the latest dances and live performances by the artists, which, in the days before the Internet & Cable Video shows, was the only way many of the audience could see those artists perform.  It even had a segment that allowed the Teens to rate the new songs. 

In this show we’re going to take a listen to some of the Canadian Acts that          performed on this legendary show.
