In this episode, Tony delivers a powerful reframe on a word most people run from: failure. Instead of treating failure as a setback or a sign you’re not ready, Tony shows how failure is often the exact catalyst you need to grow, gain clarity, and build the resilience required for long‑term success.

Drawing from real‑life experiences and the patterns he sees in entrepreneurs stuck in “analysis paralysis,” Tony breaks down why waiting for the perfect moment is one of the most dangerous forms of inaction. He reminds listeners that progress is happening even when it’s not visible—and that the process itself is shaping your character, your confidence, and your legacy.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

• The Power of Process

Why the journey matters more than the outcome, and how unseen progress is still progress.

• The Cost of Inaction

Tony explains why staying still is a “silent risk” that drains momentum, peace, and purpose.

• Action Over Perfection

How taking small, imperfect steps builds confidence faster than waiting for clarity.

• Living Your Legacy

Why leading with integrity, consistency, and courage shapes the next generation more than any achievement ever could.

Your Challenge for the Week

Tony challenges you to take one imperfect action toward the thing you’ve been overthinking. Don’t wait for the perfect plan. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Just move. Because clarity follows action—and confidence follows consistency.

Hey, hey, hey, what's up, y'all? It's your boy TP, Tony Proctor. And I want to open up this episode by telling you something simple, but something very necessary. You are not failing. You're actually figuring it out. I'm gonna say it again. Let me say it again. You're not failing, you're figuring it out. Listen, this one, this is for my folks that are showing up. They are doing the work, they're putting in the effort, but they're asking themselves, why does it feel like I'm not getting anywhere? Why does it feel like I'm not like I'm not moving? And if you've been questioning your progress, if you've been, oh gosh, please don't. But if you've been comparing your pace, wondering, like, did I miss something? Like, yo, this episode, haha. This is for you. Let's talk. Let's talk. So there was a season in my life where I was grinding. Like, I was working days, I was working knives, I was starting bits. Like, it was, I was doing, I was doing the most. I was doing the most. But the progress felt slow. Like, I wasn't just coasing along. I wasn't slacking. I was doing everything that I knew to do. And I was still wondering, like, is this enough? And and in that space, ee golly, in that space, I started asking myself some dangerous questions. Like, am I even built for this? I'm too old to still be trying to figure it out. But now, as I look back, like, it wasn't failure. It was actually foundation, truth be told. It was me learning to lead under pressure, starting to build that leadership muscle, if you will. During that time, it was me learning to trust God without a clear blueprint. You know, the old saints say, seasoned saints, let me get it right. Like if you, if you, if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. So learning to lead under pressure, learning to trust God without a clear blueprint, and learning to walk while the road was still being built under my feet, bruh. Like it you you just you just gotta make it do what it do. And so in that moment, I didn't realize where we were going. I thought some things were a delay, but who knows that delay is not denial. Delay is not denial. I want you guys to forever remember that we've been saying it, and sometimes we just kind of, oh delay is not denial. Like, but no, like say it, say it with your soul. Know that, okay, I may be delayed, but I'm not being denied. And so listen, let me let me just be real. Like, instant clarity, that's that's not real. Instant gratification, that that's that's that's it's it's partial. I'm not gonna say it's not true. There's some partial, like, yo, I want a milkshake, and so instant gratification, I'm about to get this milkshake. Now, at my age, all of that dairy is probably gonna do something to my system. And so I'm gonna have a delayed reaction, but that instant gratification, that's not what we're here for. I'm sorry, I started thinking about milkshakes. But listen, nobody really has it all figured out. Not the person that's on IG, not the coach that's out there in Colorado making it do what it do. Like nobody has it all figured out. And growth, growth is really loud on the inside, but quiet on the outside. Like a lot of people say, you haven't seen me, you haven't heard from me because I've been working. And so I'm gonna let the fruits of my labor speak louder than what you guys have seen me during my absence. And and that's real. And the truth is, is that the the middle of that, the the part that feels uncertain, the part that is frustrating, like that's where the real transformation is going to happen. It's during that middle space where you're learning what matters. You are you're learning to build character, you are refining your rhythm. And listen, it it's it doesn't look impressive while it's happening, but it doesn't make it any less uh valuable. I think about this. Let me paint a picture for you. You are out in the garden, if you will, and uh you may think that you're stuck, right? But you're really you're in the soil. You've been planted. Uh and growth doesn't always look like movement. Sometimes it looks like being rooted, or it looks like settling, or or or maybe it's it's it's preparation. And and so listen, my pastor, PB, Pastor Brian Bullock, the Union Church Charlotte, that's my guy. He said he was talking about seas in the ground, uh, and we in this series called Launch Season. And he was like, you know, sometimes you may feel that you were buried. And so if you're buried, it gives a a line of being dead. But indeed, you were actually planted. So that same dirt that we go under, if you will, when we're being buried, that same dirt is where a seed is placed so that it can be planted. Listen, when he said that, I about wanted to jump on the stage, jump back off the stage, and take a lap around the building because that was that was intense. Like sometimes when you are in your space of going to the next level, it gets dark. Like when you are grinding, you got your head down, you're making it do what it does. It is dark. And while it's dark, you're in that middle space where you're you're making it, you're putting in the reps, you're doing the work, you're doing the practice, you're making mistakes and realizing what is it I need to tweak. Like all those things are happening. Anytime we look at a movie, when somebody's in the lab, usually the lab is going to have dim lighting. Because you there's something that's happening. We can't quite see it yet, but something is happening in that dark room. But when that thing is done, we bring it out and we turn all the lights on. All the lights are coming on because we want to be able to see that. And so again, I I keep going. He said that to me, I was like, yo, I've got to, I gotta remember this. Like, it's dark. But because it's dark does not mean that I'm buried. It doesn't mean that my dream has been buried. It doesn't mean that my relationship has been buried. It actually has been planted. And there's some growth that is happening. And in due season, everyone is going to be able to see what has been happening in the dark is now going to come to light. I had an old mentor of mine that said what's done in the dark will come to the light. Different iteration when it was told to me way back in my youth, but it is indeed the truth. And listen, that being in the dirt, it doesn't mean that you're done. Uh that it doesn't mean that you're that you're off track. It might just mean that God is developing something that's about to break through. And you're learning how to carry your calling without cracking under the pressure. You are figuring out how to keep showing up while you have so many questions and not enough answers. Like all these things are happening, and I want to let you know that that's not that's not failure. It's it's it's figuring out. It is it's it's formation. So listen, I want I want you guys to hear me clearly. You're you're not behind. You're not too late, you're not off track. You're actually becoming. And that becoming is not always neat, but it is indeed necessary. You're not failing, you're figuring it out. And so hopefully this episode has reminded you that you're right where you need to be. You're right where you need to be. And, you know, there's somebody in your circle that you're like, yo, this is what I've been trying to tell you, but I want you to listen to this dude, Tony. Like, just hear what he is saying. Um, share it, share it with them. And and again, I want you guys to hit me up on on IG. Like, blow up the DMs. I'm I wouldn't try to respond. Blow them up. Like, tell me, like, hey, you know what? I'm not, I'm not failing. I'm I'm actually figuring it out. And and I want to hear about that. And I want to know, like, where you're figuring it out. But I what I don't want you to do is to quit while you're in the middle. Because in the middle, that's where it's happening. Keep building, keep going. Let's make it do what it do. All right, guys. I appreciate you guys. Again, hit me up. Let me know if this episode blessed your heart. Subscribe. Let me know how you're feeling. Let me know what else you want to hear me talk about. Let me know if you want to come on, because I would love to have some folks come on in here and let's have some conversations. I appreciate you guys. I'm out.
