STILL TRANSFORMING | Part 16 | Manuel Magana

Continue our conversation here with Romans and the verse that I mean we've shown it enough throughout the whole year from the since the year started that uh my prayers that some of you are just memorizing it because you've looked at it so much already. And the first part of it, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, is where we continue to highlight as we move forward, and the renewing of the mind will lead us to prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. Next verse or next translation, I got new living translation or the voice translation. Do not allow the world to mold you in its own image, instead be transformed, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you'll be able to discover what God's will is and wherever God and whatever God does. Sorry, I might have to get my eyes checked. You will be able to discern what God's will is and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete. New Living Translation. Do not copy the behaviors and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think, then you'll know what God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. And I'll stop there with three translations. This is part 16, right? We're in part 16 of something we're calling still transforming. Today I uh we've been highlighting it. I don't know if I would say I've really just kind of cemented the whole sermon based on the importance of the Bible and renewing our mind. We touched on touch on the word of God and we adjust fellowship with God and time with God and intimacy with God and prayer and worship at home, all these things that will help change the way we think because we need help with the way we think. And I was meeting with a friend of mine this past week, and we started getting this topic of of how the church as a whole, the church as a whole, should daily be examining the way we think. I've been telling you that thoughts become actions, actions become habits, habits become a lifestyle. But the lifestyle that you see in front of you of others, the lifestyle that you live, good or bad, it all began with a thought. And we see Paul expressing the need to renew the mind, to be conscientious of the way you think, and to realize that the way you think is not always good. Listen, you can be saved and still think wrong. Say amen to that. I know you may be shocked by hearing that sometimes, but you can be saved and still think wrong. Can we be honest? How many have had a wrong thought the past week? Raise your hand. If you didn't raise your hand, then you're better than all of us. It's fine. You can still be saved and still have wrong thoughts. And we're gonna read today, or I'm gonna kind of introduce to you today something maybe regarding the Bible that is very practical and very simple. But I just hope maybe a new revelation of it, maybe a little bit regarding the Word of God, a new kind of thought behind it, will kind of begin to steer you towards this thought of my thinking does need help, my mind does need help, and I want to kind of start to open your eyes a little bit more for this week and next week, too, of how important or how it is that God's word is so vital, even more so, vital, to this process of renewing our mind. So let's go ahead and pray, and I'll throw out a thought to you. Father, we thank you for today. We thank you, Lord, for every word you have to say. According to Acts 2.42, it is received gladly. According to Acts 19.20, it will prevail. And I pray, Lord, now that use the you use these lips of clay to speak your word without error and with excellence, according to your desire. For we've gathered to hear the truth of your word and not the opinion of man. So I ask you now, Father God, that even as I stand here, the Spirit of my Father speak through me, according to Matthew 10.20. According to Jeremiah 1.5, you'll watch over every word to perform it. According to Isaiah 55, 11, your word shall not return void. And I pray now, Father God, that Lord, as we have ears to hear and a heart to receive, that the seed of your word take root in our lives, and we shall see the fruit of it. I give you honor and glory for all that you want to share with us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Now I've kind of seen this through the years and working with teenagers, I kind of noticed this at times too. And I think everyone can be guilty of it. And I think sometimes if we're not careful, we view the Bible, the actual Bible, the Word of God, that we can view it just as like inspirational words. Or even as some unfortunately would probably look at it as religious literature. It's kind of like it's great, it's cool, it's the Bible, it's the number one selling book of all time. But I will tell you from experience that if you just view the Bible as inspirational words, or even worse, as just religious fodder, listen, you're not gonna renew your mind that way. It's not gonna happen. Put on the board. There should be a foundational truth we believe as we renew our minds. And that foundational truth is this the Bible is the very words of God given to humanity. Here, see what we're highlighting, see what we're trying to pour into your heart today. It's the very words of God given to humanity. This is God, this is God speaking to you. This is God telling you. This is God trying to put, get ahead of myself, but his thoughts into your mind. I'll say it another way, put on the board. The word of God is the words of God. And hear me carefully. We need to watch out in our lives. Look at me, because sometimes the words of people become more important than the words of God. The words of a boss become more important than the words of God. The words of uh people are people or parents can become more important than the words of God. And I know parents, you're instructing your kids and all that, but I'm reminded of what my parents told me one time. They said, Manuel, the most important words you'll ever hear are the words of God. And all the parents say, Amen to that. In other words, they were trying to tell me when God speaks to you, it's more important than even when we speak to you. God's words are more important than teachers, than presidents, than kings. All of those people can speak and listen and look. Those words will never be greater than the words of God. This is God speaking to us. And I'm convicted that when we truly believe that Scripture is God speaking, hear me. This is not Him giving his opinion, this is not Him giving His suggestions, this is Him speaking truth to us. When we realize this is God speaking truth to us, then I think, and I believe, and I've seen it in my own life, then reading His Word is not a religious duty. When you realize this is God speaking to me, His word leads to life-changing encounters. Your life can be changed by the word of God. And maybe today some of you are having trouble believing that, but we're gonna break through your doubt today, and I'm gonna hopefully place a little conviction in all of our hearts to understand that we will never again look at the Bible as something I think about, but we see the Bible as the very Word of God speaking to us, and I cannot live without it. Like I cannot do life without it, I cannot be without it. Because when we see the word of God as God speaking to us, and this becoming, when we open it and read it and study it and meditate on it, ponder in it, we begin to understand that this is me encountering God, this is me having encounters with him, this is me getting to know him. You know what happens? The authority of the word starts to take place, it starts to come into our lives. The promises of God begin to hold power in our lives. The commands of God give us wisdom in our lives. And when we open our Bible, when we realize that God is speaking to us, that this is his authority, this is his promises, this is his commandments, I have wisdom being poured into me, power is being poured into me, that as I hear God speak through me, my life can be changed and my mind can be renewed. So I tell you today, when we see the Word of God as God speaking, that this is where I encounter Him, this is where authority is encountered, this is where promises are encountered, this is where wisdom is given, this is where commands are sought and followed, this is where encouragement takes place, this is where I am being uh joys being given and hopes being given and loves being given. This is through his word, as he speaks to me through his word, there's more happening within me than I could ever imagine. Church, that is when encounters begin to take place. That is when this word begins to take root in your heart. And that's when your thinking can change. That's when your mind can begin to be renewed. Because I've said it through the weeks and I'll remind you again listen, renewing the mind is not just thinking more positively, it is replacing human thoughts with godly thoughts. Because you can think well, I just want to think well. I want to think godly. I don't want to think better, I want to think godly. And how many know there's a difference? There really is a difference. Um, many good people pass away every day. And it's sad to think that even good people still end up on the wrong side of eternity. They were a good man, they were a good father, they were a good woman, they were a good mother, they were a great son, a great. Sure, I I want to believe that, and I'll believe that. But the problem is that when we stand before God in heaven, you may think good. I'll say it like this. I know we'll hear those words, well done, my good and faithful servant. But why are you called good, just as they asked Jesus? Why will God call you good one day? Why? Ever have thought about that? Why will God say, Well done, my good and faithful servant? Why will he call you good one day? Because he doesn't just see you, he sees Christ inside of you. And it's not you who's good, it's Christ in you who is good. How many want more of Jesus to be shown through their lives? How many truly want, like, I, God, it's Jesus shine through my life? Then you don't want just good thinking. You want godly thinking. And you know what you need for godly thinking? You need the word of God. You have to have the word of God. Hear me. If this is God speaking to us, this is amazing. If this is God saying, hey son, I want to talk to you. That's amazing. If this is God saying, come here, I want to share some thoughts with you. Why would we back away from it? I want to try to just to kind of for this week and next, kind of just start to kind of get your mind into this place and your heart into this place to understand. To have a special or uh a very specific outlook on what the scripture is and why the scripture is so beautiful. Second Timothy 3.16. You probably heard the scripture. All scripture? Can you say that with me today? Say all scripture is God breathed. Think about that. All of it. It's God breathing it. And is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Bible prepares you to live. The word of God, the scriptures prepare you to be, or they correct you, they'll tell you what's wrong, they give you backbone, they establish doctrine in your life. Why how why is all this happening? Because of the first line. All scripture is God breathed. God breathed it, God spoke it, God said it. And in other translations, it's very simple. The New Living Translation, all scripture is inspired by God. In the New King James Version, all scripture is given by inspiration of God. And I as I was reading these words recently, I started to think to myself, and I think it was just like a spiritually motivated question, because I never thought of this question in my life. Where else have I read these words given by inspiration of God in the Bible? Where else have I seen these words? Because it kind of started to bother me a little bit. Where else have I seen these words that scripture is given by inspiration of God? Where else, God, where else? And I started to look and I started to wonder, and I was like, okay, well, let me take a little deeper look, go to the next slide. We started to look at it in the Greek, and the Greek word in the New Testament is this word that I'm gonna butcher Theopnous the Supposus. Yeah, that word. And and uh, if you took Greek, come talk to me later, okay? Like, like what what is like and I started to think, like, where where where else where else have I seen this word? Where else is this word at? And you know what I came to find out? It's nowhere else. It's nowhere else in the Bible. That word, that word is nowhere to be found else in scripture. It's the one Greek word that is used one time in the New Testament. This phrase given by inspiration of God, this is the only place you'll find it, is in reference to the word of God. The word of God stands alone on how it came to be. The word of God is unique in the sense that it's the only thing in all the world where we can say God inspired it, where God was the motivator behind it, the influence behind it. You are creation of God, you are creation of God, you are creation of God, you were molded by God's hand and shaped by God's hand. But hear me, but scripture came from the inside of God, his word came from within him, out of him. It was influence, motivated. What you hold in your hand, what you hold dear to your heart, the word of God, nothing else in the world can hold the title of as inspired by God. And it blows me away to think about that. That God says, I will give this unique description to only one thing in the entire world, and that is my word. That when you hold your scriptures in your hands, realize that is inspired by me. That hear me, I spoke that, I breathed that, this came out of my mouth. Again, you were created by the hand of God, scriptures came out of the mouth of God. And I tell you today that what was created by the hand of God needs what came out of the mouth of God. You were created, your body is here, but you know what you need? You need the word of God. You need what came from the mouth of God. If there's ever been a time in life where I hope you realize that you need God more than anything, it's right now in this moment. Yes, you were created by him. How many are grateful you were created by him? I was created by him, but it doesn't stop there. I just wasn't created by him. I need what's within him, I need his word. I need what was inspired by him, and the only place you'll find what was inspired by him, what was breathed by him, the only place you will find it is in scripture. It's in the word of God. Church, the scriptures came to be only because of God. That's it. Nobody else could have produced the scriptures, nobody else could have written the word, nobody else could have inspired the Bible. That's it. It's only because of God we have the Bible. I'll say like this if God does not exist, neither do the scriptures. That's it. And I want you to grab the power in that, the thought in that. This does not exist if he does not exist. And and and we're and I'll get a little ahead of myself again, but uh any big movie people out there, you love movies, you know what I mean? You hear of directors and writers who write movies, and you think to yourself, man, that that movie probably would have never came to be if that person hadn't thought it in their mind or or pictured it in their mind. And that person is given praise, they're they're they're acknowledged. A lot of times they're celebrated because that movie was amazing. Who could have thought of that? Who could have written that? Who could have, who could have came up with that? It truly was just that one person who could have came out with such a story and such a production. And I tell you today, the amazement people have on this world for others should be even greater for the word of God as well. To think to ourselves that nobody else could come up with what is written in here, nobody else could have developed what is written in here, nobody else could have inspired it, motivated, written it, spoken it. Church, there's only one person who was qualified to say this is my word, and that is God Almighty. And if it's God's word, I need it in my life. If it's God's word, his words, if it's God's words, I need it in my life. Touch three people and tell them you need it too. Touch three people and tell them you need it too, you need it too. The last one tell them, especially you. I heard about you. We'll love on you here, I promise. Ponder on this just a moment before we go any further, just one more time. Ponder, can you ponder on this with me? The scriptures are a result of God's existence. This is not if he is not. How could I view this as just a book when it would never exist if he doesn't exist? And I think to myself, God forgive me. Forgive me if I've ever taken this lightly. Church, it's God breathe. Out of his mouth came the word that is written in front of us. And I tell you today, yes, man wrote it, but God spoke it. Yes, men and authors are writing the scriptures, and Paul takes credit for much of the New Testament, but even Paul would have to tell you, these aren't even my words. It's the words that God told me to write down. Moses opening up the Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy, and he's writing scriptures and writing the Pentateuch and writing what we see as the first five books, but even he would have to admit and confess, it's not me writing, I'm just writing what he is, hear me, telling me. All of these minor prophets writing and writing and writing and writing. Hey, what are you writing there? And all they could tell you back, I'm writing what he is telling me. It's him speaking, it's him sharing, it's him telling me what to write. You look at the apostles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the gospels, a few of them who are apostles who. Or writing these gospels for us to see the life of Christ lived out, and even they would have to admit, yes, I followed Christ. Yes, I followed his life. Yes, I was documenting things, but truth be told, the one who was telling me what to write was God Almighty. It was inspired by him, motivated by him. It's because of him that I write this down because it is him telling me, speaking to me, and that same God, think of the same God that was speaking to Moses is trying to speak to you too. You think about that? The same God that was speaking to Paul is saying, Hey, I'm speaking to you too. And that blows me away to think, God, hear me, what you shared with Moses, you want to share with me? What you shared with David as he was hiding in caves and running for his life, you want to share with me? God, what you were what you were telling the prophets of old, you want to tell me? Church, God is wanting to speak to you and I every single day. Through his word. So never again look at the scriptures and think, well, I guess God was talking to these guys, and they wrote it. God was talking to you, so he wrote it. He wrote it to speak to us, to speak to you and me. These are the words of the one who created us. Hear me. Do you understand? This is God speaking to us. God pouring out his heart to us. God sharing his thoughts with us. This is God giving us insight about himself. This is God telling us the secrets he wants to share. This is God speaking to us every single day. Church, the Bible wasn't just for the men of old. It's for us today as well. He's pouring in, sharing, giving insight, encouraging, blessing, speaking, instructing, commanding, telling you how to live, telling me how to live. Everything we need is within the word of God. Take heed to it because this isn't just anyone speaking. This is God speaking to us. Give the Lord a hand clap today. See, as we go through these, I just pray that maybe a little conviction starts to arise in us a little bit. That we start to think to ourselves, have this happened to me one time, a long time ago. Thank you, Holy Spirit. I made a call to a friend of mine, and I called my friend because I happened to see my friend at the same mall I was at. I was sitting down in a store and I saw them walk by. So I was like, oh, let me call them because they were like standing in front of the store, they didn't see me. And I called, and I saw my friend grab the phone out of the out of the pocket, and I saw my friend look at the phone and then just put it back in the pocket. And I was like, oh no, you didn't. Have you ever seen, have you ever seen anybody ignore you? That takes a whole nother effect on you. When you see them ignore you, like, whoa, like I am not that important. Like, and I was like, I I wanted to call back, but I didn't want the risk of being ignored again, and it hurt any more. And I was like, I saw them ignore me. Like they ignored me. Like that, that I was like, oh. And later on, I actually ran into that friend at the mall again a little while ago. And like later, I kid you not, like 30 minutes later we crossed paths again. And I said, Oh hey, I called you like 30 minutes ago. They're like, oh yeah, I was busy with some stuff. I was like, you were just standing there looking around. Don't you dare lie to me. I saw them ignore me. How many times a day does God see us ignore him? I saw you ignore me. That Bible's been sitting on that kitchen table all week. I see you ignore me. That Bible's been leveling out your coffee table, God forbid. I see you ignoring me. The Bible looks pretty right there where you said it on your dresser. I see you ignore me. I see you ignoring me. And you know what I'm learning? When we do, because I'm guilty of it, when we do, we're ignoring some beautiful things trying to be spoken to us. I mean, beautiful. Notice some of the beautiful things that Psalms expresses about the scriptures. Put the first one on the board for me. Psalm 19, 9 through 10. The laws of the Lord, that's the word of God, God speaking, are true. Each one is fair. Hear me. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. That's that's that's scripture. You want to see a little bit more? Psalm 119, 103. How sweet your words taste to me. They are sweeter than honey. Same chapter, 111, verse 111, God's word translation. Your written instructions, your words are mine forever. Hear me. They are the joy of my heart. God, this this is this, God, this brings me so much joy, God. This right here. This is this church, it's Him speaking to us. I got one more for you. Same chapter, 162, New Life Version. I am made happy by your words. Like one who finds great riches. I was doing laundry the other day. My wife does laundry most of the time. I don't put her on blast. Just what I'm saying right now. She usually does the laundry 99% of the time. Don't chastise her after service, okay? Okay. I was doing laundry and I found a 20 in one of the pockets. You ever do laundry and find money in one of the pockets? And you're like, Jesus, I don't know where this came from, but I'll take it. It was probably my money from back when, but whatever. Like, I found it. And I was like, I really got excited. I got happy because I found money in my pocket. And David is here saying, Greater than the greatest riches you could ever find is the word of God. This is greater. See, see, see the beautiful description, see the beautiful, the beautiful things that are said about the word of God. Hear him. They are more, go back to the first slide, I have you're doing great. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. Next one. They are sweeter than honey. They are the the words of God are the joy of my heart. I am happy by your word. Nothing, nothing, food, nor riches, nor fame, nothing, hear me, is more precious than the word of God. Say amen to that. Nothing is more important than the word of God. Nothing is to be treasured more than the word of God. And I'll throw a one more word to you. Nothing should ever be more valuable than the word of God. It's valuable. The value of the word cannot be compared to. You can find jewels and diamonds and riches cannot compare to the value of the word of God. Got the greatest deal in my life when I bought this car, does not compare to the value of the word of God. I have the greatest wife, the greatest husband, wonderful kids, does not compare to the value of the word of God. I got I got the promotion, I got the job, does not compare to the value of the word of God. Got the dream home, does not compare to the value of the word of God. David is saying all of it, all of it compared to the word, all of it is meaningless. Nothing is more valuable than the word of God. This is greater, this is mightier, this is more important, more precious, more to be treasured, and we value God's words more than anything else. That is why. What makes the scriptures so valuable? What makes them so valuable? What makes the scriptures so valuable? Simple. It's because they are the words that have come out of the mouth of God. Hear me? If this came out of my mouth, it's not as valuable. This came out of your mouth, it's not as valuable. But because it came out of his mouth, nothing compares to it. Because it's out of his mouth. Church, these words are too precious to ignore. These words are too important. These words are too important to neglect. These words are too valuable to reject. So, question for all of us, and it's not on the board because I don't want to offend you with it. Because I believe I know your answer. Question for all of us. Do you value the scriptures? Do you really value the word of God? Do you value it? One of my favorite stories to tell, this is gonna sound funny. One of my favorite stories to tell at a funeral, I know that sounds odd, but when I'm ministering, there's a story I like to share, and it has to do with how much something is valued. Maybe you've heard it. If you've been to a funeral, I ministered at. And he was like, I'm just a little worried about something though. And his mom said, Well, what's going on? It's expensive, mom. Like it's expensive, like it's a lot of money. Like they're just it's expensive, but you know, hopefully, with you know, scholarships and some financial aid, I mean, I'm gonna have to worry about it, I'll get a job. And while they're talking, the mom looks outside, and the father is in the driveway. And what you didn't know about this father, and I'll tell you now, is that this father owns a 1966 Shelby Mustang, and it's in the driveway, it's in pristine condition, perfect condition. I mean, this thing is just it's it's just valuable, it's just it's beautiful car, original this, original that. The dad takes care of it. He puts parks it in the garage, it's never outside. He drives it once a month, maybe. This is this is this is his dad's the dad's car. Everyone knows that's dad's. And mom, as she looks outside and she thinks, son, don't worry about it. Like you, your dad and I, we we can help you, like we'll figure it out. He's like, Well, I don't want to put pressure on you. And mom said, No, no, we'll we can help you out. We'll do it. We'll do whatever we need, son. And as she says that, the son looks at him and says, Really, mom? Really? She says, Yeah. In fact, as she looks out the window, says, Why don't you go ask your dad? Go go tell him that you know, if he needed to sell the car, he'll tell you. He's willing to do it, he'll do that as well. Whatever we need to do, just go talk to him. Okay, I'll go talk to him. So he runs outside. Hey, dad, and he tells him, I'm looking through some college stuff. And the dad tells him, Hey, son, don't worry, we're gonna get it done. We'll get you through college, we'll help you, we'll do whatever we need to do. We love you, son. I love you. And the son says, Really, dad? He says, Of course, son, we love you. And the son says, Well, mom said that you could probably sell the car to help with college. And the dad looks at the son seriously and says, son, I don't love you that much. No. Sorry. Some of you men may feel some ways about some things in your house, too, right now. No. Why? Because that car was valuable. That car was so valuable to the Father. That car was so valuable to this man, and I tell you today, he wouldn't trade it for anything. So I ask, are the scriptures valuable to you? You may not think you we do, but we do at times. What do we trade the scriptures for at times? I love you. I love you too, Pastor Say. I'll be the first to admit, we trade this for sleep sometimes. We trade this because we're in a hurry in the morning sometimes. We trade this because we're just had a long day. We trade this for Netflix, we trade it for Hulu, we trade it to go do whatever it is we want to do, go shopping. We we we trade it for so many things. Be honest with let's all be honest with ourselves. We exchange God's words for other things at times. And I say this in love, and I'm the first one guilty of it. In that moment, we're not truly valuing his word the way we're supposed to. And here's David expressing to us that his word is finer than the finest gold, sweeter than the sweetest honey, the joy of my heart. I'm made happy by your word. Why? Because God, they're the words out of your mouth. So today I tell you, to all of us, me first, if the scriptures are truly valuable to us, should we not be searching them? Should we not be pondering on them? Should we not be meditating on them? Should we not be desiring them? Hear me, look at me, like that father with that car in the driveway, taking care of it, giving it attention. Are we giving his words attention? Are we turning to our ear, hear me, to not what man is saying, but to what God is saying? Are we showing just how valuable his word is? Put it on the board because if we truly believe, if we truly believe the Bible is the words of our God, it's the words of our God spoken to us, then we should be consuming these words every day of our lives. Every day. And as we consume them, hear me. There'll be evidence. There'll be evidence that shows that God's words are being put into our heart, that they're transforming our mind. There'll be evidence that shows that I cannot live without God's words. I need his words, and my life will show not my character, his character, not my love, his love. My life will begin to show that I am a product of what he speaks and what he says. And I tell everyone today, hear my heart. Let's never see the Bible as a casual thing. Let's never see the words, the words of God as something, just a simple casual thought. Church, let's treasure the word of God. How about this? Let's believe the word of God. Let's receive God's words into our hearts, into our minds daily. Receive the Bible as God's voice to you, and let that voice begin to change you, disciple you, speak to you. Let that voice that is speaking through his word, let that voice, this voice, begin to change the way you think, change your mindset, begin to replace old ugly thoughts for new godly thoughts. Let this word have its root in us and let God's words hear me. Let these words even challenge you. Let these words correct you. Let these words put some conviction on you, because we need that in our lives as well. Say amen to that. But at the same time, I smile. Let these words comfort you as well. Let them guide you as well. Let them encourage you as well. Let them bless you as well. Let them put a smile on your face as well. You need vitamin B. You need the word of God, the Bible in your life. We need it. And it will do all this for us. I'll say it like this to close. Put on the board, simple. Let God's words renew your mind. That's what happens. His words renew your mind. So look at me from here on forward. It's not a book renewing your mind, it's his words renewing your mind. It's him speaking to us, not just any words, God's words. So, church, indulge in it. Be blessed by it. Be encouraged by it. Be instructed by it. Hear me. Be renewed by it. Be renewed by it. I'll say it this put it on the board. The renewed mind is not built in a moment. I've learned it is built verse by verse. That changed in my life when I thought about it. The renewed mind is not moment, it's not moment by moment. It's verse by verse. Look at me. Today's verse, let it do something special in your mind. This week's verse, let it do something special in your mind. Next week's verse, let it work in your mind. Let your mind be renewed, not moment by moment, not even day by day. Let it be renewed verse by verse. Why? Look at me. Because every verse is God speaking to you. It's God speaking to you. Y'all have heard people say this before, and I'll remind you again today. Sometimes people are like, God, I want to hear you. God, give me the 10-year plan of my life. God, speak to me, God. God, I need to, I need to hear your voice, God. I need to know your voice. And God's like, it's right here, bro. It's right here. It's right here. Him speaking to us. It's right here. Let this renew us. Church, a renewed mind is built by the words, words of our God. And I smile before I close to tell you that. I think that's amazing. That it's the words of God that are renewing my mind. What? His words, him speaking to me, that's renewing my mind every day, if we're allowing it. Let's not ignore it. Let's not put it to the side. I'll even give you homework. You come find me. I'll give you homework today. Write it down. Read Psalm 119. Read it this week. It's 166 verses, man. That'll keep you busy for a while. Read it. I'm serious. Write it down. I don't have another board. Read it. Psalm 119. Read it. I'll give you homework. I'll help you. I'll throw verses and I'll start doing that. Marty, make a note for me. Make a note for me. I'll start throwing verses and say, here's your homework this week. I will be a teacher up here saying, here's your homework this week. To guide you and tell you, let's read this and let's read this and let's read this. Why? Because this is why, this is just, I hope if you learn anything, just take this with you. Why? Because here, even more important than hearing this crazy five foot nine Mexican speak to you today. Five foot nine in a good day, it's a good day today. Can't lose with the Jordans on, that's what I say. Even better than this crazy guy up here speaking to you is God speaking to you. Sweeter than honey. Better than the finest gold. Gold. Better than the richest. His words. Let's not ignore him speaking to us. Psalm 119. Get busy with it. You'll see a theme. You'll see what's going on with it. And you'll see, and maybe next week you can come to me and tell me I figured out the pattern of Psalm 119. Because there's a very simple theme and pattern to it. Hey, look at me. And then we'll pray. Enjoy the word of God. You know why you should enjoy it? Because it is the words of God. Bow your head, close your eyes, lift up a hand. Worship team, come up. Actually, no, worship team says, I want to pray for you too. Father, I pray today, Father, with their hands lifted today. Ah, yeah. Let our ears be open to your words, God. Let our ears be receptive, let our hearts be receptive to what you are telling us, God. It's you speaking, it's you sharing, it's you inspiring, it's you pouring in, it's your words, God, that are taking root in our hearts, Father. And I ask you today, Father. Yeah. You ready? May we be convicted. When we're ignoring it. May we be convicted when we put it to the side. May we be convicted when we do not show how valuable it is to us. May we be convicted when we begin to value the opinion of others over your word. May we be convicted when we begin to value the counsel of people above your words. Lord, I pray today we're hungry for your words. We're loving your words. We're satisfied by your words. Ready? We're renewed by your words. We're changed by your words. Father, I pray today, your words, Father, are doing a great work in our lives. Help us to read. Holy Spirit, help us to understand. And hear me, even if I don't, even if I have trouble understanding it, God, it's still a joy to me, Lord. Holy Spirit, I thank you for your help. Be our teacher. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
