I'm Michael, and this is my wife Ashley, and this is the Jesus, Michael, and Ashley show, podcast, I don't know, what is this? What do you call this?

SPEAKER_01:

I don't know yet.

SPEAKER_00:

I don't know, we're still figuring it out. This is Palmer, so Palmer's part of the show, he might be in a lot of our shows here, and we also got our little Jesus here. But, so, where we'll go on to, this is our first video, right?

SPEAKER_01:

Yes.

SPEAKER_00:

So, okay, cool, so we're excited about it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, excited, a little nervous, but it's good.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

UNKNOWN:

So...

SPEAKER_00:

I think what we wanted to do is talk about our faith, like where it began, and yeah, how did that begin for you?

SPEAKER_01:

For me, I used to go to church every other Sunday, maybe, when I was a small girl. I was baptized Catholic when I was... a little baby, um, just off of, you know, just my parents doing it. My grandparents wanted it done. So, um, so we, so they got it done. Um, and I would say my faith didn't begin then. Cause I really wasn't into it when I was a kid. I thought it was boring. So, you know, what about you?

UNKNOWN:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Um, so, uh, believe it or not, I grew up Seventh-day Adventist, so, uh, don't judge me. Um, they believe in a lot of, uh, good morals, Christian values. They believe in the divinity of Christ, pretty much all the main points, except, um, they had a couple little different things where, um, they had like other prophets that they thought were like LNGY. I've probably never heard of her, but she wrote a book. She was a person, um, back then. But anyways, um, I grew up Christian and had a lot of good Christian morals and, uh, you I had Christ in my life. Probably up until moving here to Las Vegas, which is where we live. That's when I stopped believing. Honestly, I went through a five-year breakup. I'm sure those are pretty hard. You've gone through year breakups. I kind of wanted to... I kind of wanted to, I told myself like literally, like I'm gonna just go and experience like life and just like do like whatever, party, have a good time, try things that I shouldn't be trying. And

SPEAKER_01:

I feel like a lot of us have

SPEAKER_00:

been there. Yeah, I'm sure you've been there. Yeah, I'm sure you've been there. I've been there. And, you know, and I was just having a great time, a really good time partying. We're going to music festivals. But before we even met, though, we were both partying, going to music festivals. And that was like our thing. We were like EDM kids, you know, and like house and techno and house and bass house and all the different things like that was really fun. Anyways, so moving on. So who influenced your faith? Like, was it like your parents or dad? Who

SPEAKER_01:

influenced my faith?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. You. Oh, me. Oh, well, truly, I guess I did. He did.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. But I'll get more in on that a little bit later on in here, but it was him. It was him.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, definitely. About two years ago, I got back into my faith, and yeah, that's a whole, like, different thing, so.

UNKNOWN:

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00:

The way I got back into my faith was, believe it or not, was believing in Satan again. So, yeah, I know. It's actually... It's like I

SPEAKER_01:

never heard anyone say

SPEAKER_00:

that. No, it's actually a thing. It's actually a thing. People are like, well, I see there's evil in this world. And that's kind of what I was doing. I was seeing the evil in this world with politicians, celebrities... all the different things, and just how we can't work together, countries up against countries, rumors of wars, things like that, and how greedy and selfish people are, and just how you can just see that we're flawed in some way. Something is pulling the strings in the background and causing us to fight and cause division and dissension with us. Yeah, so I think that's what made me start to believe in Christ again.

SPEAKER_01:

All that stuff is happening even more so now than it ever has been. The deceiving, the lying, the division. Division is a huge one right now. Yeah, it's huge. I'll just say God would never do that. So it's got to be Satan. So I can understand how believing in him would– not believing in him, but believing that he is real would kind of make you think.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. They say God's– he doesn't cause division or he doesn't cause– He's the God of clarity and he doesn't cause him. He's not the God of

SPEAKER_01:

confusion. That's nice. I like that. I feel like I haven't heard that. The God of clarity. Yeah. That's beautiful. Yeah. I like that.

SPEAKER_00:

And then, yeah, you just see like, it's like Satan's like, he's like the prince of this world. Like he's ruling and pulling all the strings. And yeah. So that's what I saw. I saw that. And I'm like, I got to get back with Christ. And I started to get back with Christ. It felt good. And you know what? When I read the Bible when I was younger, I heard all the stories. I'm sure you heard all the stories like Daniel and the lion's den and things like that. I heard about that. Just all these different small stories. I was going to say... and other stories of the prodigal son and things like that. So finally, I started reading the Bible from a truth aspect as a grown-up, actually reading it myself as a Bible instead of hearing what other people tell you. Everyone has an opinion about the Bible or religion and things like that. I started reading this right here for myself. And the more I read it, the more it made sense and the more truth it made sense. It just was speaking truth to everything that's going on in life of the evil in the world and that there's a beauty in this world too. And I just, this is like making more sense the more I read it. And no one reads the Bible. No one actually reads it. But when you read it for yourself, you start to find, like, this is making sense in a world where there's no truth. You know? Yeah, exactly. Well,

SPEAKER_01:

you know, Jesus is truth.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. He's the way, the truth, and the life. Yeah. And there's no greater story than love, than Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. And it's something just beautiful. And to that, that speaks truth to me.

UNKNOWN:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

All right. So going back to that question, you said, or the question is, how did you get back into your faith?

SPEAKER_01:

So I never I feel like I wasn't really ever into my faith, really. But this is kind of where I wanted to get into pretty much how I got into my faith in general. And I said that was you. And that's because last year, almost a year ago now, we were on our way to Burning Man, which is a huge, huge,

SPEAKER_00:

huge festival, huge

SPEAKER_01:

festival type event. Out in the middle of

SPEAKER_00:

nowhere.

SPEAKER_01:

A lot of partying, a lot of things of that nature. But on our way there, he brought up God. And we talked for... I feel like we talked a few hours on the way there.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, she was hitting me with some hard

SPEAKER_01:

questions. And I was, because I didn't... I kind of had... I felt like I... I wasn't sure if God was real or not. I didn't really believe in any of that stuff. It took me asking some crazy questions, and I'm sure a lot of people have, and kind of testing it out, asking those hard questions. We went through Burning Man, and on the way back, I think we talked about it more, I think. I remember us pulling into the driveway, finishing our conversation about God, and I remember us specifically, we talked about marriage, and we got engaged there, too.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah, we did. We talked about that. We got engaged at Burning Man, y'all.

SPEAKER_01:

We talked about marriage and what that truly meant. It's not just just getting married for the paperwork or for the love or for whatever the worldly reasons are to get married these days. It's, it's a covenant between the three of us, you know, just like this podcast, Jesus, Michael and Ashley. So I kind of started thinking about it probably on the way there. And that's how I kind of got into my faith.

UNKNOWN:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

We've just been running with it, honestly. She's given me a lot of support. It's like Jesus is leading me because I'm further along in my faith than you are, I would say. You're following me, so I'm following Jesus. You're following me. We're all holding each other's hands. I like to

SPEAKER_01:

say Jesus is leading the way. Mike is holding... jesus's hand and i'm holding mike's hand and we're all just going along you know and honestly i think you know that's kind of how I don't want to say that's how it should be, but I feel like that's kind of how it should be, especially if you're married. Yeah. The man's the leader. And so we kind of have that dynamic in our marriage. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely. So, yeah, we've been just running with it, reading this more and more. And we had a couple of experiences we want to share with you guys, but I hope to be in another video.

SPEAKER_01:

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, definitely. Definitely a different video. It's a long, long,

SPEAKER_01:

fun story.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, fun stories. It's spiritual attacks, geez, but they're real.

SPEAKER_01:

Spiritual attacks and other actually really beautiful things as

SPEAKER_00:

well. Yeah, absolutely beautiful things too.

SPEAKER_01:

So right now, how is your walk with Christ right

SPEAKER_00:

now? It's going great, y'all. Honestly, I have so much more peace in my heart. I know you could say that you have peace in your heart too. I'm not worried about tomorrow because the Bible teaches that the day has enough worry as it is. And why worry about tomorrow or the next day or the following day or just because like, your lord god like he's going to take care of you and make sure you have what you need throughout the day and provide for you and things like that and so when you have peace um and also you just know that uh jesus is christ and lord you know that he's returning you know he's going to return and you know no matter what happens going forward like i just know in my heart and that's what faith is is knowing believing in something that is that is real but you can't tangibly prove But it gives me peace knowing that he's coming back, and I really do believe he's coming back soon. Yeah,

SPEAKER_01:

I would say... for me, that's also how it started after talking with him about God, you know, a year or so ago. I realized pretty quickly that believing in him gave me so much peace. I was a worrier, a lot, you know, anxiety for a lot of just random things. And that was my first testimony is, you know, now that I, have God in my life, I'm less worried, less anxious. I barely, I still worry. Right. Um, I think, you know, that's just something I'll continue to work on with God, but, um, I just worry so much less because I know that God would never put me and my family through something that we couldn't handle,

SPEAKER_00:

um,

SPEAKER_01:

with him. Um, so, um, that's, that's kind of where I'm at too. Just kind of, just kind of tagging along after him and I make little changes as well. And as I go all the time, all the time right now, because there's a lot of changes to be made.

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely. So our walk with Christ is going great. We definitely want to share some more testimonies with you. We have some really crazy stories to share with you. But again, it's for another video. But we're here to honestly just like spread the good news. You know, if what we believe, me and you believe is true, and we believe it's like 1000% true, because we felt God in our lives and the different things that have happened recently in the past two years that we want to share with you. We know he's real, we know he's coming back. with certainty and if we believe what we believe why wouldn't we share it with you our friends and family and you know that's because when you spread truth that's love and if you know I want everyone to know Christ someday because he's the way the truth and the life and you know at the end I believe honestly everyone's going to face Jesus as a judge this whole life that we're living I think it's a test I really believe It's all a test. And when this life is over, it moves on to something else. And you're going to have a review of your life. But anyways, I believe that if he's also can be your judge, but also your, your redeemer. So he can also be the way it's like, kind of like, it's like he washes away all the sin or all the wrong that you've done. It makes you purified and spotless like he was. So anyways, we believe what we believe and we want to share the good news with the world around there. And so this is just the first of like many episodes. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. It's, it's kind of, you know, when you're a child of, of God, it's kind of part of your duty to spread the word about him. And we hope we can just hit even just one person in a video, you know, anything, anything at all that sparks anything in anyone. That's, that's what we are looking to do here. Yeah. Cool.
