Welcome to the New Season | Becoming While Trusting God
Welcome to a brand-new season of the She Is Enough Podcast.
If you've ever felt like life changed you, this episode is for you.
After walking through grief, unexpected transitions, and seasons that challenged my identity, I realized something important: God isn't asking us to have everything figured out before we move forward. He's inviting us to trust Him while we're still becoming.
In this episode, I'm sharing why this season of the podcast is different, what God has been teaching me about slowing down, letting go of perfection, and finding peace in His presence. We'll talk about grief, healing, motherhood, faith, purpose, boundaries, and learning to embrace the woman God is shaping us into—without feeling like we have to earn our worth.
If you've been waiting until you're "healed enough," "ready enough," or "good enough" to step into what God has for you, I pray this conversation reminds you that you don't have to wait.
Because you are already enough.
Grab your cafecito, settle in, and let's walk through this season together.
In this episode you'll hear:
• Why Season 3 is centered on becoming instead of perfection
• How grief can change your identity—and your faith
• Why God doesn't ask us to have all the answers
• Learning to trust God one step at a time
• A prayer for the woman you're becoming

Hi, beautiful ladies, and welcome to the She Is Enough Podcast, the place where we remind ourselves that our worth isn't something we earn. It's something we've already been given by God. I'm your host, Jocelyn Ortiz, and like many of you, I'm learning what it means to trust God through life's unexpected seasons. This isn't a podcast from someone who's figured it all out. It's a space where we walk together while we're becoming. Whether you're navigating grief, motherhood, healing, setting boundaries, or rediscovering yourself, you belong here. We speak Spanglish here, Lo siento, Auelita, because we live in both worlds and both are sacred. So grab your cafecito, get comfortable, and let's walk through this season together. Abuelita, this is still for you. Hi amiga, welcome back to the She Is Enough podcast. If you're a returning listener, welcome home. If you're new here, I'm so glad you found this little corner of the internet. My name's Jocelyn, and this podcast has always been a place where we talk about faith, healing, purpose, womanhood, and learning that we are already enough. Not because we earned it, but because that's who God says we are. Today I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to press record. I've recorded this episode or a version of this episode several times before realizing I was trying to sound like the old version of myself, the version that already had the answers, but that's not where I am right now. And I think that's okay. Last year, if y'all go back to my first episode, I lost my grandmother, my abuelita, and then this year we unexpectedly lost my father-in-law. And grief changes a lot of things. It changes our nervous system, it changes our priorities, it changes what brings us joy. And people think that grief is simply missing someone, and it is, but grief also changes the person who's left behind. You don't just lose someone you love, you become someone you've never been before. And I think in this season, I'm learning and understanding who that person is. Shopping used to be something that I loved and enjoyed doing. And now that I look at things, I'm like, I don't really need them. And I feel like I value just time with my family. And one of my favorite moments this month has been watching my daughter in the pool have the courage and the bravery to swim across the pool without a life jacket, and her being so excited because mom and dad were cheering her on. And I find joy in that. And even in those glimpses where I'm finding, you know, little joys, I sometimes feel guilt uh because of it, but then I embrace it because joy is going to mean something different for me than it is for you. I've uh questioned whether I should keep this podcast because I wondered how I could encourage others while I'm struggling. And that's why I'm probably on version four of this episode. I wasn't sure if I was gonna continue with season two, if I was gonna start a new season completely, or if I was even gonna continue. I am in the midst, and maybe you've told yourself this. Um, I'll come back once I'm healed. I'll come back once I've figured everything out. But what if God isn't asking you to wait until we're finished? I kept trying to use the same tools that worked in previous seasons. So every time I kept recording, I was recording, trying to, you know, give tips and be able to like say, I'm here, and I'm just not in that season anymore. I kept trying to use those same tools that worked in previous sessions, so like goal setting, productivity, pushing harder, setting boundaries. And you know, I kept trying to fix myself at the same time as I'm like recording these episodes. And I'm don't get me wrong, right? Like none of those things are bad. Like I still use some of those tools depending on the day. They're just simply not what I need right now. And right now, God is teaching me to rest, he's teaching me to trust, he's teaching me to receive and be present. Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to become the old version of ourselves that we completely miss who God is inviting us to become today. So, welcome to the season. Welcome to this version of Jocelyn, the one who's learning, grieving, rediscovering joy and becoming. And to be honest with you, I have no idea who she's becoming. I it's funny how life kind of takes you in different directions. I I'm not a new year, new me type of person. And if you've heard previous episodes, you've heard me say this before, but I started this year with goals and intentions, and life is life, right? I think uh if you're still listening right now, um, you probably are lifeing or uh figuring it out, and that's kind of the season that I'm in right now. So I'm becoming, I'm learning who this version of me is. And um before I continue, I want to say a prayer for all of us. God, thank you for meeting us in the middle, teaching us to embrace the women we're becoming instead of mourning the woman we've outgrown. Thank you for all that you give us and for never leaving our side. For when things get so tough that you wonder if you're alone, but then you look to your side and realize that you're always with us. And sometimes in our darkest moments is when you accompany us and continue to tell us to just have a little faith, to just have a little faith that everything's going to be okay, that the storm isn't going to be the storm forever, that we're going to continue to blossom and we're going to continue to be maybe not the same version of ourselves, but a new version that is with you, that is by your side, and that never gives up. That we might get scared, that we might wonder what is going on, but we're never alone. So thank you, ladies, for tuning in. I want to set the stage, or I guess the intention of what this season or yeah, what this season of She is Enough is gonna look like. Um, I revamped the branding and revamped the cover um because I think it's appropriate to switch things up and realize that season one of me is very different than season three. Uh season one, I come from a place where I'm teaching. I'm talking about strategies that help me. I'm talking about faith. I'm talking about life is messy like spaghetti, right? And I'm talking about how I'm learning all these tools or I've learned all these tools. And we have a lot of fun, right? Uh, I think there were some uh deeper episodes, right? I think I talked about suicide prevention month and you know, my story with that, and I fully will continue to tell stories. Um, but I want this to be more of a chat, right? So come chat with me, come discover and figure out what we're doing. Uh have your favorite drink, right? I'm recording this at night, so I'm not having my coffecito, which I love. Uh, I am having a zero sugar sparkling ice. Uh, I think it's like cherry lining, it's delicious. Um, but yeah, this is meant to be kind of like a conversation. It's meant to be hey, come chat, let's figure life out together. Um, so yeah, going back to the branding, I switched it up. The photo that I put is me sitting on a couch uh journaling, and I'm not wearing shoes. And I I was trying to figure out what picture I was gonna use. And uh Chaz, which actually she took my photos the first time around where I'm wearing like the colorful dress. And when I was taking that picture, I was scared, honestly, because I hadn't kicked off the podcast yet. I had been recording, preparing, doing coaching. And I remember when she was taking my pictures, there were glimpses where I was like, okay, I got this, I got this. And I remember when she was taking this picture, I was like secretly like, okay, take a deep breath, take a deep breath, take a deep breath. It's okay. Um, and I couldn't believe that I was going to do this. I think one of the videos that I did in that photo shoot, I announced that I was she is enough was coming out. And I don't think Chaz knew like uh the name of it or anything like that. So I remember when she was recording, she was like, I could see the smile on her face. But I feel like it's that's kind of the vibe that's gonna be. Like, I'm not gonna be all put together in this season. Like, maybe I wasn't put together in the other one either, but um, I'm not gonna portray that I have it all figured out. I do have tools in my toolbox, and I plan to take them out, but it's really meant to just be really chill, like take your shoes off, or don't like it's supposed to be a conversation, and I want you to feel like you're sitting next to me on that couch and we're just chatting, we're just figuring it out, talking about different things, right? Talking about faith, talking about being brave. Um I'm being very brave right now. Uh, as I hit record, it's been very scary to think about where I was gonna go to next with this with this podcast. And I'm very glad that I'm here, and I'm very glad that I had bravery in this moment and that God gave me the courage to keep going. I listened to a beautiful message today at church, and it was about taking those courageous steps and taking having those 20 seconds of bravery to follow what God is intending for you to do, and He doesn't expect you to do it perfectly, He doesn't expect you to have all the answers, He just expects you to have faith and to just take small steps. So today is going to be a very short episode. I just want to let you know that I am coming back, not the same version I was a year ago, but I am coming back as me and who I am in this season, and we're going to discover her at the same time, and I hope that you enjoy it. I hope that you enjoy this new season, and if you're having a hard time right now, I will keep you in my prayers and know that each day is a new day. Each day is a new day to smile, to reset, and to know that there are gonna be hard days, even when we have all of the faith in the world. There are gonna be hard days and then there's gonna be good days, and we should embrace them, embrace all of the beauty and all of the smiles, and all the giggles, and all of the things that bring us joy. And I hope that you have a wonderful and amazing day. Thank you for joining me, and I'll see you in the next episode.
