SPEAKER_01

Hi everyone, welcome back to Dance This Podcast, the monthly mix with Zoe Francesca and me, Jessica Bay, the podcast where you can find great songs to dance to. If you remember from last time, every month we're going to a little catch-up of what we've been up to this month. So this is the month of May. Everything we've been doing in our dancing lives. What have you been up to, Jess?

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, I'm not gonna cut in front of you first, actually. What? What? She don't know what's happening. Ha ha. Um so I know we don't do the what is it? What's the thing called?

SPEAKER_01

Foundation files.

SPEAKER_00

Foundation files in this, but I have got something. What have you got? You've got to close your eyes. What then?

SPEAKER_01

What the oh my gosh, she's off into a bag, everyone. What is this? If the I I hope it's a brownie or something for edible from Lidl. Okay, this is YouTube exclusive. Keep your eyes closed. What? Okay. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think this is technically a dancer essential, but it's an essential to me and it's a present to Zoe. What? You're gonna open your eyes, yes, it's a big box.

SPEAKER_01

It's a big box, guys. I have no idea it ready. Free two one.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_01

What is it? A kettle! A pink pink! Oh my goodness! A pink kettle! Oh Jess, no wonder why you bought a massive bag.

SPEAKER_00

I said to Zoe, I was like, I'm not going on the road without being able to have a cup of tea, so I was like, I'm gonna get a kettle. And I was like, I'm not getting a colour scheme button, but then I saw that and I was like, okay, I'll get a pink one.

SPEAKER_01

It's amazing. It's a pink kettle because we're taking the camera. You can have a hot chocolate. It's got a little mirror on the top as well. You can like just check your face while we're out on a bar. We're going to marry with get our mirrors in, doesn't it? Brilliant. Oh kel. Yes, I love it. I thought you said you're going to get a small one. It's bigger than my actual keys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. To be fair, the price of it, I thought it was going to be quite small. And then when the box turned up, I was like, This is incredible. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh my gosh, I love it.

SPEAKER_00

To me though, tea is essential. Um, so that would go with the foundation files, personally. Okay, just keep you hydrated. Well, just caffeinated, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, together. It's so cute. Yay, thank you. How cute. So that'll be coming with us in the van. Yes, we have to say we are, we've made the executive decision to take a break for a few weeks. Just about three weeks. Only three weeks, yeah. While we move the caravan. So we've been talking about it a lot, I've mentioned it a few times, but we are actually moving it. We've got some places lined up. Shall we say where we're going?

unknown

Ooh.

SPEAKER_01

No. No. Sorry, keep an eye out. No, no, keep an eye out. We've got two trips lined up in the van with some exciting guests. Can't wait. Cannot wait. So we're taking a little break while we go around the country. And then bulk on the colour. Yes, definitely. Uh so the kettle will be coming with us in the van. And yeah, just keep an eye out on socials because we're gonna vlog everything. The kettle will be coming with the phone. I know it's cute. I love it. I love the pink colour. Thanks. If you'd have got green, I would have said this is not coming in the van.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I was just gonna be like, no, I'm sorry. Like, I'm not I'm not spending more money just to get a pink or a yellow or a blue kettle. Like, we're just gonna have a white one and you've got to deal with it, and we'll have another cupboard. And then I saw that and it was only a couple pound extra, so I was like, Perfect. Let's get the pink one. Perfect.

SPEAKER_01

So, so so cute. Love it. So, yes, we're still going to do uh content on social, so keep an eye out with that. Keep an eye out for that, and then we'll come back with the monthly mix before all our exciting interviews after being around the country. I hope it's not this hot while we're travelling around because it is boiling today.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it ends up being a weekend when it's like a heat wave. I'll be like, sorry everyone, bring your fan. We can all have a fan.

unknown

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but didn't we have that thing last year of it gets a bit loud when you've got the fan on?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. We'll have to get the little hand ones. Oh, but they're like phonography. That'll make a cute video as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, we'll do a bit of that. Do a bit of that.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, anyway, we digress. What have you been up to this month?

SPEAKER_00

Um, what have I been up to this month? Should we go in with the song? Yeah, I can't. Should we go in the song? I don't know what your song is. What you don't? Oh, sorry, I've not oh sorry, she's not lined it up. So my song this month is so much better from Legally Blonde. I wonder why, Jess. Tell us why. Um so I'm currently uh choreographing an amateur group's Legally Blonde, which is super exciting. The tickets have just gone on sale, um, so check that out. It's Bright Light Theatre Productions, um, they're based in Harriga. Oh, I think they're based in Harriga. I think they're based in that kind of area. They do a bit of stuff all over the place, but that's where we're rehearsing. Um so yeah, so much better is my song for this month. That's like got my favourite song of the month. I wasn't really like that big on Legally Bond before. Like I'd seen it once like another amateur group do it, but I hadn't really like properly it's it's not been one that I've like, I've gone home and listened to the soundtrack load, and like it's not one that I know a lot of. So it's obviously like this past month, it's all I've been listening to on repeat just to kind of get it in my head. And this is the song that I just yeah, this is the one that I keep having on repeat that I genuinely like love. I don't think I've heard it. It's so much better. Legally blonde ensemble. It's so good. This is like Elle's big song. It's like end of act one. Bam. Should I skip it in a little bit? Yeah, it's only like 30 seconds.

SPEAKER_01

It's cute, it's cute. Is it kicking even more?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. It's like the end, like it's like the end of act two. So act two is that act one. How many acts are? So yeah, it's a good one. Aww, fun. It's very like cheese happy. I got a bit like oh, I feel like a bit cringe saying this, but I did get a bit cringe. So when we did the audition day, the girls who wanted to audition for Elle sung that song, so like that was like it was just playing all day that day. So I was like, oh, I actually quite like this song. So then that was like me listening to that on the way home. And when we were at the auditions, um Will was like showing me, Will's the director, he was showing me like the um the brochure that they've kind of been given, which had like all the information for the show and stuff, and then there was like my little headshot and like choreographer, Jessica Faye, and all this. And there's a line in the song, and this is where the cringe there's a line in the song, I was like sat listening to it on the train on the way home, and it's literally um seeing my name um wait, what was it? Seeing my name in black and white looks like I'm doing something right, and I was like, Oh yeah, that's really cringe.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sorry. But I was like, You never have a little cringe moment I normally have a cringy one.

SPEAKER_00

I love it. I feel a bit silly.

SPEAKER_01

That is so cute!

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, I was like sat on the train like Well done, that is so fun.

SPEAKER_01

So tell us, is it like you're doing the choreography for the ensembles? Are you doing all like putting it all together, working with the other directors?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so it's kind of like a mix of both of those. So just basically anything where he wants like actual like dance movement, I've just kind of been doing, but yeah, we're just working through it like a routine at a time. I'm not used to only having like a three-hour rehearsal for like a full routine to just kind of smash through it, like usually at DSL when we do the show, it's like a seven-week course, so it's literally like we do it once and then we just forget about it for like until we basically start putting the whole show together. Um, but yeah, we did Oh My God, you guys last week and then last night we started on What You Want. That's my favourite song from it is a good one. Yeah, it's a big one though, so that we've having two weeks to do that one, thank goodness. Um but yeah, it's looking good. But yeah, tickets are on sale, so go and look. Yes, we'll link it below so you can come and I've already got um half of DSL that's taking up like two rows on a Friday night. They're like, yeah, they've already started booking those tickets. Oh, that is so funny you're gonna be that you're gonna wear pink to go watch it. Well, I'll probably I don't know whether I'll be backstage. I don't know. I should ask it. So I don't know if I'm gonna watch from the front or you should watch one from the front. I can only do it once. I can only go once. Oh no, so I'd rather yeah, but I'd rather be like backstage with the floor.

SPEAKER_01

With them, like the buzz from a show is so good, so so good. Okay, maybe you can watch it the time you film it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah, you'll see it when you do it, yeah. I'll be out front then, probably. That is very true.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, exciting. Love that. Um, well, guess what? I did this well, guys.

SPEAKER_00

I taught a Tracy Beaker dance class. She rocked up to the studio the other day, but she snuck in. Like, I didn't actually see her arrive.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, she does you.

SPEAKER_00

She does that. Um yeah, I had to go and like look halfway through. I was like, I want to see what she's wearing because I thought she's got to be on brand, and she was in a red top.

SPEAKER_01

I did wear a red top and my hair was a bit fluffy, but I didn't fully do the Tracy Beaker look.

SPEAKER_00

She shouldn't have been full on that.

SPEAKER_01

No, you want a worn jeans to dance in the house. Oh, hell no, no way. So basically, I do a divas class once a month at DSL, and we were just talking in the group.

SPEAKER_00

For context, it's usually like Ariana Grande, yeah, pop divas. And that we that's what we mean by divas.

SPEAKER_01

We were just chatting, and we were saying, like, I can't remember what we were saying, like our favourite songs came up in conversation, blah blah blah. And then this song came up, I can make my work on you. And I was like, Do you know what? Tracy Beaker definitely classifies as a diva, absolute ultimate diva. So we were like, let's just do it. I was I asked Katie first. I did say, Katie, we've had an idea. Katie in the studio, um, can I do Tracy Beaker for the Divas class? She was like, um, and then all the all the like students were there, they were like, Yeah, we really want to do it. And she was like, Okay, and I was like, the votes are in. It was cool, I loved him. Well come. No, it was good to be fair. It was a good like bounce, like it's quite cool and bouncy. Is that your song for the month? No, that's not my song for the month, no.

SPEAKER_00

I did not pick Trace Beaker. So this is your favourite song of the month, remember?

SPEAKER_01

Right. Do you want to know what my favourite song of the month is? It's actually hilarious. Melissa! I've drunk as are we doing that today? Do you do? Yes, let's do it. We're going to a hand it. We're going to get drunk and be outside with us in the sun. This, right, do you know what? When a song comes up on TikTok and it literally, you hear it so many times, it fully gets stuck in your head. Like it happens with all the pop songs, like lots of Megan Trainers' songs. You hear little snippets of it, and then you just get them when you play the song, you're like, This is such a good song because you know that bit. And it's a really clever technique, I think, if you want to get your song in the charts or like people to know your song. But this song coming up, yeah, 100%. I'm drunking that. And I think it's because it's sunny. I have having it non-stop. Yeah. Okay. So I also have just been to Greece, it was in the sun. I was like, I'm drunking that. Like, it's just oh, it's just so good. It's quite a short song. I was like, I want more, but it's just vibes on vibe. Just keep I have been. That's why it's my favourite song of the month, because I keep playing it non-stop. So that's my song. That's my song for the month.

SPEAKER_00

You just sang it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm drunk and stuff. Get me an apparel. What else have we been up to? We went to Scotland. Oh, yeah, we did. I thought about that. Girling Pop, I actually made notes this time. Made notes. Made notes. Yes. So yeah, we went to Scotland for a gig in what where the hell is it? Dundee. Dundee. Dundee and Edinburgh. Lovely. The cinema had a nice little. It was the same gig that we did before. So we've done that trip before. We know where we're staying, we know what's what. Like it's just it's just fun and girly pops are always fun. We've got a new layout for the Taylor Swift 35 minute section. Yeah. Which I actually have my head around with the costume changes and blah blah blah. So as long as it's 35 minutes, you're fine. Yes. However, I did stand on the fan and drop it, which was highly. Yeah, I didn't see that happen.

SPEAKER_00

Because I was smooth picking it back up again. Well, when you said I stood on the fan, I thought there was like a fan, like an actual physical.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, like one that keeps cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I wish there was more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. I thought there was one of them at front of the stage, and I thought you meant you knocked into that, and then Lauren was like, no, she fully like tripped over the fan. And I was like, Oh, you mean like the fan veil thing? And she was like, Yeah, and I was like, Oh, I didn't realise that. Yes. I thought you tripped over something, then dropped it in the process.

SPEAKER_01

No, I stood on it. So they're like But then didn't you do it again or something?

SPEAKER_00

No, I just did it once. No, but didn't you like go to step on the material again or something? I it was like in the way.

unknown

Hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Not that I know all. I think Lauren says she must have looked over or something, and then you'd kind of like you were going to step on it again, so she was like, Oh god, she's gonna do it again.

SPEAKER_01

But you must have like it's really annoying to stand on. So they're like the fan, the hand fans, like they keep you cool, but they've got a long trail on the end. Yeah, they're like what belly dancers like use. Yeah, they're so cool. They look so effective on stage art. All the videos.

SPEAKER_00

You just really got to kind of open your arms up to be able to do it, otherwise, if they're too close to the ground, like yeah, you've just got to you've got to figure that out, aren't you? It's hard to do that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I haven't got me back with that yet, probably, because I stood on it when it was going up, up, so I properly did my hand up. At the same time, my foot was stood on it, so it just came out of hand. Oh yes, I didn't trip or anything, I just went up and I was like, oh, it's on the floor. So I like boom, quickly picked it up and carried on. And then I was like, you have to like really use your arms, it's full on arm workout. But that was pretty though. It does look so so so cute. It looks really cute. Um I feel like that's it. I feel no, I wanted to mention I did a taught a burlesque Hendoo, and today at the Hendoo, we're going to a Britney dance class, and I'm excited to see it from the other side. Yeah. I've never been to a dance hen party before. Taught loads, yes. I've never been to them. Same. And it's funny because I'm like, I only know what I've done.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But like, we can get some inspiration. I'm intrigued. I've got my Britney t-shirt ready. I'm excited, I'm excited. And we're also going with a lot of people that do dance and don't dance. So it's a whole mix.

SPEAKER_00

So it'll be as good.

SPEAKER_01

And I think there's a lot of us as well. Going with a Britney tribute as well. And we're going with a Britney tribute. So this is gonna be fun. Very fun. We'll have to do a TikTok as well. But yeah, I'm excited to see it from the other side. Yeah. One more thing. Oh, I went to this is slightly dance-related, slightly not, a closing down sale of lots of props. I just have to mention it because I was having the best time ever. It was literally a woman who owns a like parties company doing all the decoration. I bought the nicest backdrop for this caravan, like if we go to events, it's like rainbow discs. Oh, I should have got it out, I'll pop it on our stories. It's so nice, and I got like I got a little telephone for Lauren's Sabrina show. Like, I just could have spent a million pounds in there, but that was definitely highlight of the month because I mean I should have been there for about half an hour, had things to do, but I was there for about three hours. I was like, do I need this pink grass? No, yes, no. I like just couldn't decide all these things, but uh what a lot oh it was so fun, what a day. Okay, next is hot takes, industry hot takes. Have you seen anything in the industry this month, Jess, that you're like, ooh, dance related?

SPEAKER_00

The only thing that I could really think of this month was not even like if we're talking performances, not that strictly, but we know the presenters now.

SPEAKER_01

Strictly, we know the presenters.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, why is that not even on my list? I absolutely forgot about that.

SPEAKER_00

That was my only kind of thing that I could think of the other day that I was like, Yes. We know the presenters' thoughts. I was very like, depending on who the presenters are, I'm tapping out because I don't I don't know if you can't say this on the podcast, but I wasn't very happy about all these pros being knocked off. Like, I wasn't feeling that, so I was a bit like they make too many changes and they make the wrong decision with this presenting situation. I'm out, guys, you've lost me. Sorry, sorry. However, I will still give it a chance because I really like Emma Willis, I like Josh. I was a bit like random choices, but obviously, they've obviously done like a lot of chemistry testing and stuff behind the scenes, so it's like even though you might be like, oh, but this person, but this person, they might not have worked well together with and they might not have vibed with other people that they were getting in, whereas this dynamic obviously must have been something that they liked. Yeah, but I'm interested because I love Johannes as well, so I'm like interested to see what they do with him because everyone's kind of saying that he's probably gonna be doing like something behind the scenes.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's because they've never had three, so you'd think Emma Willis is replacing Tess, Josh is replacing Claudia, like the funny role, and then Johannes, what's he gonna do? But it we don't know that it could be the three of them doing it together, like it'll be really interesting, the first one to see the setup and the dynamic of how they're working it. I really wanted Zoe Ball, sad that's not happening. However, yeah, Emma Willis is great, Josh is funny. The little videos of them three together that they've been putting up, like it they've got a good fun dynamic. Josh was like, Look at these two looking so good, and I look like this, like it's funny. I like I quite like it already, like the little dynamic. And I think the fact that Johannes is there makes it so strictly that it's still keeping it, it's not changing too much.

SPEAKER_00

Does that mean he's not still dancing? I think again, we just don't know anything yet, do we? Because he was announced in the pro lineup. Yeah, he was. So then my other thing is I reckon he's probably gonna be doing the pro dancers because they film all that over summer, don't they? So he'll probably be in the pro dancers. I'm gonna assume that he's not having a partner. It'd be weird for him to have a partner and also be presenting. I don't know how that would work. So I'm gonna assume maybe his contract has changed because that's been rumoured a bit with some other people, hasn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. I'm glad Catch is back. Yes, did not like that rumour. Yeah, didn't like that one. And yeah, sad to see those guys go, but it's not as many as were rumoured, so we're okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we're okay.

SPEAKER_01

Uh talking of TV shows, news that just came out. So you think your dance is not being renewed? Now, I haven't watched it for years because it's like an American thing now on their channel. Like, I don't think we can watch it over here. Yeah, but everyone keeps posting, it's not been renewed. Like um, Richie, who's one of my favourite dancers who's ever on it, posted about it. Blake McGrath posted about it, Jeanette posted about it, everyone's like posting who's been on it, saying, Oh, that's so sad. And I'm like, oh my gosh. I loved so you think you can dance. I loved the setup of it where it was like they learn a style, perform it, learn a style, perform it, learn a style, perform it. Like different styles. That is, I would love to go on that show, like showing their versatility. I love that. Except it's all partner work, I'd probably just whack them in the face all the time because I haven't really done much partner work. I would love to be on that show. So I know it's just been cancelled, but I already need to start a petition to bring it back to even though I haven't watched it in years.

SPEAKER_00

Um we need it to come back. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder why. I don't know. It just was they were just saying I haven't looked it up properly, but everyone was just saying that it hasn't been renewed. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, oh, I loved that show. Oh my god. Did you watch it? I watched the UK one, I think, when that was on. Absolutely. Because was that what um Matt Flint was on? Mmm, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

But I watched the one with Arlene Phillips, Nigel, Sisko Gomez, Louise, Red Knapp, Catholic.

SPEAKER_00

I also get confused between that and Got to Dance.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you see, I never watched Got to Dance because that was on Sky, and I never had Sky.

SPEAKER_00

Honestly, I can't remember what the difference between them both, to be honest. That's why I'm a bit like I can't So you think your dance is where they had a partner.

SPEAKER_01

So you think you can dance? They had a partner, and they each week that partnership learnt a different style and performed it. Whereas Got to Dance, I think, was like Britain's Got Talent, but a dance version.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Slightly different.

SPEAKER_01

So you think your dance just loved the scripts and things. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, that's sad to see that go. Another thing, Eurovision. Did you watch it?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't think you did. It's just gonna be a short section there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm not gonna. That was on my thing of like that has happened this month, but yeah, I don't know how much to say about that. Cause I don't, I just don't I've I've never been, I think you're either one of these people where your family was like die hard into it when you were a kid, so that's like now your life. Like, I have like friends that are like, oh, I'm having a Eurovision party, and I'm like, is that a thing? Like, oh okay, like I just we never really I feel like it was maybe on in the background, but it wasn't like a Eurovision, yeah. Like we were never that bothered about it. So yeah, like I've heard the songs, but I've not actually watched the performance. Yeah, Lauren was playing them all in the car, didn't she?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when we went to a gig we had them all on, and some of them we was like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

But we were just listening to the song, so then Lauren was making me like Google the people because we're trying to picture what all the people looked like. We were like, right, okay, what's the vibe of this person?

SPEAKER_01

Love it, and we like occasionally would print them out and like give scores and stuff, but not like have a Eurovision big party, but it's always like been on in like we've watched it in our house, so yeah, I would have watched it, but we were at a wedding abroad, so I couldn't. But I've watched some of the performances of some of my favourite songs. A lot of them are done this year, were done in like music video style. So like the one that won was great. Bangaranga rang that one, yeah. They won. Um the video it was like shot like a video, so she was like towards the camera, and then Yeah, but don't you think everything's done like that now?

SPEAKER_00

Like, look at Coachella, like a lot of people complaining about that, and the fact that they're performing to the video and it's not to the live audience. That's true at that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I liked it for Eurovision. Yeah. I was like, ooh, I love that.

SPEAKER_00

It's televised, so that's always been a thing of that, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

So it's a bit different, I guess. I love that it's like a concept, like uh the song and the outfits and the all matches the concept. Like some of them are wild, but lots of them this year were like very commercial, like quite a lot that I could see like do elite for performances. That didn't they? Yeah, listening. And like if you watch the dances, it's Like, go and watch them. I haven't watched it all. I didn't watch it all. I've watched my favourites and some others. Um, but lots of them were like, but I was like, this could be a dua lipa set, like the terms of a bit of the song and all the dancing and like the set of it. Yeah, the one that won was proper like a music video until like two and a half minutes in. You didn't even know she was out on a stage. It was like the choreography was a bit weird. It was really cool. I liked it. But my song for the month. It's not the winner. Okay. It's Germany's entry. You're on fire fire. You're a layer. Oh yeah, we like something. That one, that one is so good. That's another that I could have had for what I'm loving right now. I've had that on so many times. Yeah. It's so catchy. It's like a pop song. Like, I know that like Eurovision is all different styles of songs. But that one is like that could be in the charts as a pop song. I love it. Probably would be one. Well, I hope so. We'll be them out. I'm listening to it. I'm adding to the numbers because I've had it on all the time. It's so good. Fire, fire. You're layered, layer. Yeah, and like the dance as well, like that. Like their costumes were so good that that's one that could be like a Jew Lee purset, like, oh, really good. So that's my song for this one. What's your song for this one?

SPEAKER_00

Um my song. It was a bit like, hmm, what do I put in? But then I was like, it's not exactly, I guess, dance-based, but I've put in Runway, Lady Gaga from Deadwise Prada 2.

SPEAKER_01

Good one.

SPEAKER_00

Because we did go and see that, and as much as it's not a dancy film, like, spoiler alert, there is obviously like a special guest appearance in the film. Spoiler alert. But yeah, but I liked that sort of thing. So that's a good one. Yeah, and I've been doing it in commercial or past fashionable.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, I saw that was good. I loved it.

SPEAKER_00

That's good, I like the song.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a great song. Did you see? You did see, because we've been talking about it, decadance.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh guys, if you haven't heard of decadance, get to know, find them online. They are Leeds based, it's like an older generation company, I would call it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like a collective.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's a bet word. Collective. And they do the big trends, they do fun, viral videos. They've smashed it with this one. Guys, the people that have commented on this video, Harris Gabel, what the hell? Who else was going to be?

SPEAKER_00

Literally, I went into work and I was like, Alex. I was like, Linda? And then she was like, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Alex who works at DSL runs that with I can't remember what the other Megan. Megan. Yeah, sorry, Megan. Yeah, Alex and Meg run decadance. Um, works at DSL and Linda from Traitors, that's so good. Commented on it. Like so many good people commented on it. Steven from Traitors, but yeah, Paris Gabelle. I was like, oh my god. What? Jedwood. Jedwood. They've just smashed it. But yeah, they do amazing vibe videos. So they did one too, runway in like a shop where they were in blue vintage. Putting on all these different outfits and like they are just a vibe. I was like, I need to be in that when I'm older. That better still be going. But yeah, that is a good song. Yeah, good one. Good one. Good one. Oh, we haven't played them. We have not played. I don't think you played your last bit. Um bye, bye. Oh, I love this bit as well.

SPEAKER_00

Is this Antigone, is it?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, it's just called Sarah. Um, and then yours was Runway. That's not how it goes. Might show up late, might be on time. Just wait, I'm coming. That's is that written about me?

SPEAKER_00

Wait, is this a song about us? So us, not me. Okay, so final section. Zoe's come up with our question this week. Um Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Favourite ensemble song from a musical. I wanted to do something musical, but I was like, a favourite song from musical is way too broad. So we've done ensemble dance number. Yeah. So we're gonna guess what each other said and then give our own answers. Do you want to guess my first? Yes. I've guessed which I you have put it in before, so I'm not too sure whether you'll go with this one. But I've put seize the day from Newsies.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it would be that, obviously. However, I didn't put that because I was like, it's already been a song on the playlist, I wasn't gonna get it. So I've gone with my second favourite. So if you want to put in an honourable owner. Ooh, um I mean, in saying that, to be honest, my second and favourite, they probably all come from newsies, but I I try to stay away from newsies.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, right, okay. So I was gonna say something from Hamilton, but I don't know what the songs are.

SPEAKER_00

No? Yeah, I shouldn't know what the songs are, no. Oh, I don't know then. Don't know. Go. Moulin Rouge, backstage romance.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I should have known that. I should have known that.

SPEAKER_00

Have you seen Moulin Rouge? Yes. But it's just like the actual, like, just the choreo for all of that bit is just the ha way it like builds, like, because it's literally like five, six, seven, rah, rah, rah. It's so good. Great song. Yes. What style is it like? Just like a It's just very jazzy like commercial, is Moulon Rouge, I think. Like with a bit of like kind of that flamenco-y kind of I don't know, not that song.

SPEAKER_01

No, but it's all got like Latin. Can you see it anywhere, or do you have to go see it on stage?

SPEAKER_00

I think there is. I feel like they did it on like Britain's Got Talent or something like that. Okay. I'm sure there's definitely you can watch it online. I've definitely watched it after I'd seen it. Yeah. I think it was on Britain's Got Talent, or it was on some like Saturday night show. Okay, I'll try and link it below. Yes, it's like different to the version in the film as well, because obviously it goes into like toxic bad romance, like obviously it's called backstage romance. It's clever. It is very clever. Even further, even clever.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's really good, it's really good. It just reminds me of Leighton.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh my gosh, yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah, how good. Yeah, that was so good.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna go over them all, and then like, yeah, that was really good. I loved that. Yeah, great soul. Cool. Good choice. You you're not gonna guess mine.

SPEAKER_00

Well, no, because again, I kind of went down the same route as what I was like thinking. I was like, you're not gonna have said cats again, surely. Eh-mm. So I was like, I'm not gonna go with cats. But then I was like, you also haven't seen them. So I was like, but then I don't know whether you would have just gone from with a song or whether you would be like picturing and picturing. Yeah. What's what's my favourite musical? We will rock you. But then I don't I don't know any of the music from We Will Rock You, so I wouldn't have actually gone down that route. I was thinking more jazzy and I would have said like soul block tango or something. Ooh, okay, no, I feel like that I've heard that song so many times.

SPEAKER_01

That's just not in my thoughts now. Um it's actually one vision from We Will Rock You. Yeah, I would have never guessed that. I don't know. So sorry, let me just preface this with I love this musical so much. It's so weird. Why do I like all the weird ones? It's not a weird one. It is a weird story. Oh, I don't know the story. Oh, it's very weird. It's very weird. Songs amazing, weird story, but I love it. I love it. Like a lot of musicals. True. I uh saw it when I was in school, blah blah blah, and then our final uh performance at school, like our final show, was we were rocky. Yeah, loved it, garga tops, and then we got to be the Rocky ones as well, the Bohemians. So we got to like do both, which is like I feel like both my personality. It's like clean lines, very jazzy, is all the first bit, and then the second one's like full on rocking out. Like it's just oh my gosh, those two are like, I just love both those kind of characters. So I fell in love with it then, and then when I went back to teach at my school, I got to choreograph the Real Rocky. So it was like however many years later, six, seven years later, um, went back to cover a maternity cover and ended up choreographing the show, and they were picking it. I was like, please be something I know. Yeah, please. And they picked We were Rocky just like by chance. I was like, oh my gosh, full circle moments. Then I got to choreograph with all the students the full show, which I just loved. And this song, ding ding, din ding ding, din ding d's got such a build, and I can just picture, I'm gonna play it to you in a second. I can just picture standing at the side, like d like getting ready to go on, and then it's too excited. It's like such a good, everyone's completely in sync. They're all like robots. Robots, they're not robots, but they kind of are. Um story sign, yeah, it's a bit weird, and they're literally like all in sync, all doing like clean jazz line kind of choreo robotic art. It's so good. So it starts with I'll play the little build bit. Yeah. It's like building, there's clapping, it's like, come on, and then it's like put a lot of this today. A lot of this. Oh, dunno, dunno, vision. Oh, yeah, I do know this song. Oh, it's so good, it's so good. It's like a bit rocky still, but it's so like neat and clean and oh, I love that. That's definitely as soon as we said on somebody, boom, that's what came in my head because it's all stage, and when you see it on it's not there anymore. The West End. Um, it's like two different levels. Yeah. There's all these lights on the back, it's like a wah moment, and it's just so good. So that's definitely, definitely in my list. Oh, that was fun! That was fun, I love that. So, check out all the playlists on Spotify, and we'll be taking a little break, but you've got three weeks to catch up on all the episodes that you've missed. Yes, and then we'll be back with some exciting news of where we've been on road and dude. How it went with the caravan. Wish us luck. Keep your fingers crossed, everyone. Yeah, she's still not trying it yet. It's gonna be fun, it's gonna be so fun. We will see you next time. Thanks everyone, bye. Bye.
