Welcome to the Mid Majors podcast with a real hoop talk happens, unfiltered, and unapologetic. I am one of your hosts, Takara, and with me I got my girl Courtney. Hey. We just watched a blowout today. We did. But my first question is who pissed off Cody McMahon today?
SPEAKER_06Man, what?
SPEAKER_07Who pissed us off? I told you the first thing I said on my notes, as Cody goes, old Miss goes. Because you know what we got? We got a super speeder. Absolutely. We got a super speeder. Absolutely. I said if Cody is playing well, old Miss plays well. And that's just that. Like, nobody wanted to guard Cody today from UT. I mean, hell, she was going full steam, downhill, like a runaway freight train. And these motherfuckers was like, I don't want no parts. Move they ass out the way.
SPEAKER_05Sis was pissed off. Like, what was the Valentine's Day not T? What happened? What happened? But that's no, like, literally, Cody.
SPEAKER_07Cody plays like that every single game. She does. She do. She really do. Like, she really plays like that every single game. Um, she plays aggressive and she plays hard.
SPEAKER_05Now, I hate that she missed that last free throw, not to go ahead and get the 40 piece. Uh-cause I was pissed. I was like, come on, get the 40 on her. I know. But um I feel like with the scoring though, like, this it's gotta be this is career high for sure. I was about to say, I've never seen her score like that. So yeah, sis, sis was mad today. I uh what pissed her off? And 10 rebounds, a 39-10, double double. The fuck? Bro.
SPEAKER_07Cody. And I didn't even I didn't even notice. But the rebounds? I believe the announcer said that she's like second in the SEC in scoring, right behind Michaela Blake's. Oh, really? Okay. Let's double check that. But I swear the announcer said that.
SPEAKER_05Let's double check that. Cause it's yeah, probably. It's probably what she average then after today.
SPEAKER_07I think she was averaging like a lot of people. She's definitely 21. Yeah. 21 or something like that. Because Joyce is what, 20?
SPEAKER_05I think so, yeah. Dang, that's probably right. I'm telling you, these accolades for SEC is going to be tough.
SPEAKER_07Right.
SPEAKER_05For first team. First team. Like it's gonna be it's gonna be hard. Um, and it's like I have people who, you know, like I I hope that don't get left out, but probably are going to. You know what I'm saying? If we talk about seasons like your girl from Georgia who's balling, yeah. You know, she's she could probably get left out. You know what I'm saying? But if so, if you think about the season, if you think about what the team did, there's a lot of factors that come into that. You gotta put that in total in on all totality too. You know what I'm saying? But yeah, you know, but it's gonna be it's gonna be hard when it comes to those decisions that people are making. So too.
SPEAKER_07I mean, it's a tough conference. I don't think in I mean, this is me, but like that is a tough conference.
SPEAKER_05So before we get into this game and what we saw, let's talk about the tough conference. So yeah, y'all, y'all was mad at us again um last show. Some of you broke up with us, you know. We got broken up with you like us, but you don't like us no more. So are we breaking up? Let me know. Um yeah, which is so funny. No full-on commitment. No full on commitment. See, that's some of y'all's problems.
SPEAKER_07Y'all don't like y'all don't like titles. Y'all don't type of people. You get with somebody. We don't like titles.
SPEAKER_05We've been doing this show for six months. You get with me for six months. You know, I may have left something, I may have left my my bag in the living room and the floor where you ain't like it. So I gas to go. I may have left a little hair in the sink. I gas to go.
SPEAKER_07Okay, we're not another notch in your podcast belt. Okay.
SPEAKER_05We're not. Right. You know them two, you know that girl, them girls, or that or that, or that man, you just couldn't leave alone. We we dead. Okay. We dead. You might have left, but you came right back and circled back. You doubled back. We we them. That part. But anywho, back to what the point that I was making. We you know we always gotta talk a little shit. But anyway. That part.
SPEAKER_07I wanted to start singing that chingy song, but I just couldn't think of a word. I didn't really want to fuck it up.
SPEAKER_05Not thinking no chingy words.
SPEAKER_07Which one? I gotta leave something keep pulling me back, me back, china, yeah. That part. Yeah, that part.
SPEAKER_05That part, that part. But anyway, so if we talk about the SEC, right? If we talk about, so the point that I wanted to make this point and clear this up when it came to the whole bandy situation. Now, when I go back and I look at the schedules and I go back and I look at what's coming up for Bandy and Texas, when I think about as far as the number one seed. Now, I do think Texas is number one seed when it comes to the tournament. I'll go ahead and I'll attract that. I'll eat that. So that's cool. I do think that. After what I've looked, they beat South Carolina, they beat UCLA when no one else has. They've earned that right. Even though they done took a few losses, whatever. So the point that I wanted to make, and it's funny because me and you had that conversation, and I said, when it came to that loss with Bandy, that Bandy and Georgia game, I told you, I said, that game, I said, that game helped Georgia more than it hurt Bandy. Right. And I think the fact, because it was unranked team, unranked team, the fact that the next day, the AP, which the AP do be on some BS, the AP put Georgia in the top 25 because Georgia does have three top 25 wins, which now they do deserve that right after that win. Yeah, it goes to show that point, if that makes sense. Right, right. I feel like that's a valid point. And to my next point, when it comes to that, to the point I'm saying, that win helped Georgia more than it hurt Bandy. Look at the SEC standings. Who's where? Right. South Carolina, Bandy Belt, Texas. Yeah. The rankings didn't change. They didn't, it didn't change. So to that point, I feel like in that case now, if Bandy goes, if you look at the rest of the schedule, Texas has a Texas should win out the rest of this schedule, the regular season conference. They should do that. And who do they have out who do they have out there? Um it's I want to say Arkansas. Uh hold on, let me find it. Uh Arkansas. Hold on, girl. I just literally had all this. See, you caught me slipping. I was together. Then I wasn't. No, you cool. You cool, you cool. It's um Arkansas's next. Then we have. Who is it? Then we have Mississippi State. Okay. Then we have was it? Alabama. Alabama. Which Alabama's a tough.
SPEAKER_07They got Georgia.
unknownWho?
SPEAKER_07Texas. They got Arkansas, Mississippi State, Georgia. Georgia. Okay, so I missed that one. Okay. And then and then Alabama.
SPEAKER_05Alabama. Okay, cool. So I missed one. I must, I think, is that on a Wednesday? The Georgia one's on a Wednesday or something like that. I skipped it. Um, no, it's on a Thursday, on the 26th. I skipped that one. So if you look at who Bandy has, Bandy's got their work cut out for them for the rest of the year. Now, two seed, I think so. For the uh NCAA tournament, I think so. But Bandy has Kentucky, 16, Alabama, 25, Tennessee, 21. They have to win out for the rest of the because if you think about it right now, my opinion, if we think about the SEC and what we're playing for, right? We're playing for a top four seed. Right. Because we want that double by. You already beat up, you tired, it's probably injuries at this point. You know what I'm saying? Something's hurting. I don't care who you are. Something's hurting at this point. Right. You want that double bye in that tournament because of you want that rest. Yes. So that's key. So I think if you're playing for something right now, that's what you're playing for. So I just wanted to make that point and why I felt the way that I did. So but yeah. We're allowed to change our minds, people.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_05We do it all the time. We are allowed to do that.
SPEAKER_07I mean, like, let's be for real, y'all. Y'all wouldn't like us if we just praised everybody all the time.
SPEAKER_05They don't.
SPEAKER_07They want to watch that.
SPEAKER_05They don't. They some of them do. I mean, like, that's what I'm saying. They want us to praise who they like. Yeah. I mean, but so, you know, but but you know, honestly, though, since we here, shout out to our subscribers. Shout out to y'all, because we hit 2,000. We love y'all. Yeah. We love y'all through thick and thin. Y'all may get on our shit and talk shit. We still love y'all. We be like, look at look at her. Look at him, look at look at him. He was talking shit last week. Now he's talking about he love the show. We we be like that, but like, we ain't gonna switch up. So y'all, but y'all might say we might. So I don't know. But that's perspective. That's nor here nor there. But the mid-majors is here. We here, we not going nowhere, we doing this. So, but anywho, let's get to this game. We done got a little. That's I had to make that point. Yeah. Um, so like I said, when we get into tonight, Ole Miss and Tennessee child.
SPEAKER_07What's your the new the new uh yeah? Tennessee. Is it not the Tennessee that we used to see in with Pat.
SPEAKER_05So I'll start on what you just said. Um to your point, I'll say this. I don't understand how, and this is where I'm upset when it comes to what we're seeing right now with them. I don't understand how you don't take pride in wearing that uniform. Whoa.
SPEAKER_07That's a loaded statement.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And I love it because absolutely because if you think about me, right? I played I played at Tennessee Tech. People on this show didn't know who Tennessee Tech was, probably still don't know where it's at until I'm on here. Every show I'm on here was good. Right. You feel me? And shout out to my head coach, my head coach to Tia Master. She's actually the head coach at um UCF Central Florida. Um, I remember, I want to say that somebody else wore a different schools shirt or something like that to practice. And she lost it over that. And then, you know, that's when she taught us, and like I said, she came my sophomore year. She taught us the history of our program. She didn't play there, she played in Arkansas. She's actually an SEC great, Arkansas Final Four, Beach Tennessee, Shamika Host Call. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07I like where you're going because you're not. You get what I'm saying? So I get what you said.
SPEAKER_05She taught me the history. So she was the head coach. There's her first head coaching job. She taught me the history of my program. At the time, we were the 10th winningest program in the history of the NCAA. She taught me, do you not know that we have the most OBC wins in the history of the OBC? She taught me that. So that right there made me have pride in my school. When I go to my school and I teach that, I gave my speech, I give that to my kids, to them kids now. I can tell you everybody, everybody who's Jersey retired, I can tell you their name. Pam Chambers, Janet Holt, uh Emily Christians. I can tell you, I can tell you all these people. I can tell you what they did. I can tell you the history of my school. How can I do that at Tennessee Tech and have pride in purple and gold? But when you played, if you're playing behind Candace Parker, Shamika Hoskull, the Great Pass Summit, we can keep going and we can keep going, we can keep going. How many, how many national championships they got? How can you not have pride to stop on people on defense with wearing orange like that? How can you not do that? And that's what I'm saying. Like, sorry, I just had to word. It's some word. That's some real shit. That's some real shit.
SPEAKER_07Like, I didn't even want to cut you off. That's some real shit. I was just gonna say, like, then that's what Kim should go on and into the postgame saying. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, um, but at the same time. When do we when when when is it an appropriate time to look at coaching?
SPEAKER_05When is it appropriate time? We just dropped what dropped what three in a row? Yeah. Just dropped three in a row. What's her record? 16 to 8 overall, 8 and 4 in the conference.
SPEAKER_07I I I don't know. I feel like there are like there's something bigger going on there.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um and I'll be honest with you, like just watching them, like, I just don't, I don't think they really, the the girls really mess with the coaching staff like that. It's not a good thing. I already know what that look like. I know what that looked like. You know what I'm saying? Where, you know, you got a coach over there that's trying to coach, you know, trying to implement their system, trying to be, you know what I mean, whatever, but the kids just don't, it's it's it's just not a connection there. So it's like the coaching kind of falls on deaf ears. You know what I mean? Because sometimes it was it was some times where I felt like, you know, like what is going on out there? Yeah. What's going on? I was like, it's just a bunch of girls out there just hooping. That's what they're doing. You know, and and the announcer had to say, like, you know, they do a great job on offense. I said, this offense is bullshit. Fact. They just go it wasn't it was just going through you know, they set up a set, right? But then they just go through the fucking motions. Like you had somebody that was supposed to set a screen, didn't set the screen, but slipped the screen, but it wasn't even the appropriate read. You should have just fucking set the screen. So what are we doing? Yeah, you know what I'm saying? Like, people are just doing things for them, and that's what you saw towards the you know, as the game kept going, a lot of hero ball trying to figure it out. You know what I mean? When in the beginning, I feel like when they first started the game, like attacking the basket, going downhill in transition, that is something that is their strengths, you know what I mean? But like they couldn't stop Ole Miss on defense. Uh I I I don't even like let's just look real quick because I know it's probably though.
SPEAKER_05What was they what was their attempt to start somebody stop somebody on defense though?
SPEAKER_07Not even not transition, not half court. No, you're not. I'm I'm answering it. Not in transition, not on the dead ball, not in half court. They like did not care.
SPEAKER_05At this time, Courtney, where I saw what's the most important thing on the floor when it comes to basketball?
unknownThe ball.
SPEAKER_05The basket. Oh, okay. That's my theory. I always say the most important thing on the floor is the basketball. Oh, I'm not sure. I'm at the basket. Protect that motherfucker. Of course that too. But the ball first, you can't get to the basket without the ball. You can't. That's just my little theory. I always say the most important thing. When I think about transition, right? So if I'm thinking about transition, what do I want to stop? Right? The ball. Yes. So it was times where I've seen, you know, you might have guarded the ball for a little bit, but you pointed at somebody else and took somebody, and the ball went to the hole. The ball went to the basket. So you didn't protect the basket, or you didn't protect, you didn't stop the ball. So it's like when we're talking about that, like Courtney, to me, we're talking about basic fundamental things, bruh. We saw somebody throw the ball on the side under the basket of Ole Miss tonight, into the basket in a lady.
SPEAKER_07But but that's because they don't care. They don't care. Do they know? They don't care. I just don't, I don't think they I feel like, you know, in terms of like coaching and a team, you gotta have a coach that they like, especially if you're trying to win and go far and all these things, you really do have to have a some type of relationship with your kids that is beyond just, you know, on the court, but also like knowing my family and wanting to get to know my family and talking to like that, knowing who I am, what my culture is, where I'm from, like those things matter um for them to buy into your system and what you're talking about, right? And you gotta remember that this is a woman that came from Marshall that came to Tennessee. First of all, no disrespect, shout out to her for doing that. But in what I I'm and this is a serious question, I and I know she did great at Marshall, I think she might have been at a D2 or something like that beforehand, and they did great. Y'all correct me on that if it wasn't a D2, I know y'all will. But how does somebody go from that to Marshall and then get such a prestigious head coaching job at like the University of Tennessee? How does that like when I when and that's and I'm not even trying to be like disrespectful, but it's just that question don't understand that. Um she wasn't at Marshall long. No, she was not. I think she was only there a year, yeah.
SPEAKER_05So it's like for me too, I asked that qu I've asked myself too, who did she know?
SPEAKER_07Or facts mean that in my notes, I said, I feel like she I don't some like watching her these past couple games, especially after the whole like you know, quote unquote quitting thing. But I mean coaches have been calling their people out, right? Like, especially too late. But it's like, man, like is she in over her head? I don't know. I think in my notes, I said, like, they just need to clean the house and start over. Like, and I think it's just because I have this vision in my head of what Tennessee should look like, you know, like if if you look at a Yukon, that's what for people that grew up with Tennessee and like really know what Tennessee basketball is about, women's basketball is about, like, we should be looking at Tennessee the same way we look at Yukon. Like, that's that type of thing. Now, although we not don't have the, you know, we don't have the Pat Summon. Uh summon. Pat Summit, God rest her soul. We don't have her, right? Yeah but it's just like, what are we doing to like get that culture, get that back?
SPEAKER_05Let me ask you a question though. So we talk about we talking about Kim right now. What about Kelly? Harper? What about our?
SPEAKER_07No, and I'm talking about, and now I'm just all of them.
SPEAKER_05All of them. To my point, I've made this stat before. So our class, our class, that 2008 high school class was the first class at Tennessee to not go to a final for the whole four years. And that was the last that was when Pat Summit was done. Right. Like that was when she was done. So it's like we can say Kim all day, but Holly, Kelly, it's been unsuccessful.
SPEAKER_07So who is is it the is it the AD? Ooh, no, I mean, I mean, I don't know. Like, who's doing the hiring then? I don't, I don't know. Like, so if you don't want to put it on the coaches, then is it the hiring?
SPEAKER_05Because I just feel like it's it could be the hiring, but also too, when we talk about this, if we talk about we talk about tradition, right? We talk about pride. You got Kelly Harper, Kelly Cherry, I think it was it was Kelly, is it Holly? Is it not Holly? Is it Holly? Girl, I don't know. A girl, you know who I'm talking about, child. Yeah. Hold on, let me let me look up the damn name. It's Kelly Harper. Because I told you I had uh, yeah. Yes, Kelly Harper. I'm tripping. I I know somebody named Holly Cherry, that's what, because it was used to be, whatever. Kelly Harper, right? Why wouldn't you, as they should have, somebody who's been there, somebody who knows what that program means, somebody who's been successful at that program, you have to give them that opportunity like they did. You get what I'm saying? So it's like, but you know what I'm saying? So it's like I felt like they tried that. So what is it? Like you saying, what is it?
SPEAKER_07Hey, I I don't know. They gotta get something to to buy in, they gotta get some kids that's gonna buy into the system to whatever coaches bring in. I don't know. And then you gotta remember too, uh, you know, the way that Kim even like even something as simple as just the way that she substitutes, right? A lot of kids are not they not used to that type of play. They're not used to that system. You know, and that's what I'm saying. Like a lot, I don't I don't so if you if it and I'm not like trying to bash her coaching style. What I'm saying is that if she if she's doing something like that, that's kind of like out of the norm for a lot of schools, yeah. It's like what else is she doing that is a little bit out of the norm that the girls are not buying into? Right? Um, and that was a thing, and I just know that from firsthand from when my I got a new coach, my junior and so and senior year. The way he went about things were completely different than what we were used to, especially the girls that were there with my old coach. I mean, like it just was a complete like night and day type of situation where it was just. Like I it I'm not I'm not doing it that way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I wasn't taught that way. I don't want to do it that way. Like, and I ain't even trying to be disrespectful, but I just don't think like in a good example is like who is the young lady that got hurt on Tennessee? Y'all know y'all would um You talking about the uh one of the twins?
SPEAKER_05No. Somebody tonight in this in this game. Girl, like I said, you know, I was in and out. Okay. Help us out, y'all. Help us out, y'all. So you know the number?
SPEAKER_07There was a um, I don't. I if I see her face on um ESPN, I can uh anyway. If y'all watch the game, y'all know who I'm talking about. Yeah let me see if I can find her. Let me now it's not it wasn't Barker. Hold on. Um, nope, I don't think it was her.
SPEAKER_05Nope. Let me find you. Nope. And I'll take the shit out. Nope. Robertson, Sybil, Jersey. No. Wait, who the hell is that? I don't know who that is.
SPEAKER_07She had like blonde, like kind of like a I don't know these. Like like um, like, no, it wasn't Hearst. Nah, Hearst was Bala.
SPEAKER_05She was whoever that was.
SPEAKER_07It might have been, I don't know. Anyway, y'all it's y'all let me know. But there was a moment, like, something happened. It looked like she might have like like just kind of like snapped, like hit her head and her neck went back a little bit. Anyway, she was like laying on the floor, like laying on the ground, just kind of laying there. And one of her teammates is like trying to like help her up, like, you know, and she's just like, no, like, and she's just laying there. She's just laying there. And they're like the girl, you know, and the refs multiple times were like, Yeah, you know, waving to Tennessee's bench, like and she never came. Nobody came out there, bro. She might have laid on that ground for a good like 20, 20 seconds. I'll say 20. I don't want to be, I don't want to over-exaggerate it. It might have been longer than that. But it was just to the point where she was laying there and the the refs really was like, you know, like, come on. And nobody, like, like no trainer was out there, no coach, no nothing. So then, you know, they the girls help her up. No coach, still, nothing, nothing. And next thing you know, you see her walking to the back. And I'm just like, if that's not an example of like, I honestly, like, I guess they can say that she was hurt. Like, yes, like I say she was hurt, but I didn't see any trainer, anybody following her back there. Anybody like, you know, hey, like, what's going on? How you feeling? What's hurting? No, that was just like, you know what, I'm done with this game.
SPEAKER_05I feel you. I feel you, but I have questions. Because you well, and I know you got the teammate who's always hurt. That ain't nothing wrong with.
unknownI didn't see.
SPEAKER_07I didn't see the play. I didn't see the play, bro. I can't say that. No, no, what I'm saying is that they were going after a loose ball, right? At first, I was like, bro, ain't nothing wrong with her. Ain't nothing wrong with you, girl. Ain't nothing wrong with you. Gotcha. But then they slowed it in slow motion, and her neck did kind of like like snap back a little bit.
SPEAKER_05She probably could have been hurt because I don't think it's a little bit more.
SPEAKER_07Or at least just like, just, I mean, it but you know what's crazy? It don't even matter. It's just the fact that she was laying on the ground for like 20, I'm just gonna say 20 to 30 seconds.
SPEAKER_05I feel you.
SPEAKER_07And the refs were like, hey, somebody, and not the coach, not a trainer, I feel you, not an assistant coach. Nobody came out there just to say, like, or just be like, hey, are you okay? Like, it wasn't like it was late game or or shit, it's not even like football where you get hurt and you gotta sub the fuck out. Like, you get what I'm saying? I don't know, like that part. I was just kind of like, okay, yeah, something is something is up. And then the way she like walked past Coach Yo at the end of that game, bro. Something is something is going on. Something is going on.
SPEAKER_05Did did yo say something in a in a press conference? Or but I I don't I don't know. You know, I don't know. I don't know. Um I don't know. But so her her press conference is up. Okay. You wanna roll it? Let's watch it. Let's roll it. Uh let's let's see, let's see what it is.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, coming into the game, we talked about uh going in the paint and limiting our vowels, and we didn't do that tonight, and it really really hurt us.
SPEAKER_04Uh just cutting like damn was pretty unstoppable tonight. Just where did you feel like the execution was lacking with her and kind of the game plan coming in?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, game plan coming in was put three or four people around her, make it really hard for her to get to the rim. Um we fouled her way too many times. She scored any type of way she wanted to. Um, a lot of it was in transition, and we just didn't have bodies in front of her.
SPEAKER_02Okay, what were the half-time adjustments you were hoping to make, and why do you think that they played out how they did?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, uh, we wanted to just get back in transition. Again, try to get feet in the paint, try to stop them at the rim, stop the fouls, um, continue to push pace on offense, so really working on guarding the ball in transition. She's pissed.
SPEAKER_05She's mad as hell. She's mad, she's mad as shit. She said we did have a game plan. She she's mad as shit. But uh, carry on. Carry on.
SPEAKER_04What do you feel like has been like a consistent or consistent problem with this team's transition defense? It feels like sometimes it's just not they're not organized enough or it's not getting back. Just what do you feel like has stuck out to you?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think uh being willing to go over and take a charge, being loaded to the ball, having multiple people. We struggled tonight guarding one-on-one. Um, and again, kind of like our game plan in Texas, we wanted to be in those gaps. We wanted to play uh team defense as a unit. I think when it comes out tonight, it didn't matter. I mean, when they did it in the half court, they did it in the full court. But when we're going in transition, we needed more people.
SPEAKER_07Pause it. Because first of all, first of all, this is a young lady that was on the ground and nobody came out to check check on her.
SPEAKER_08That was Cooper.
SPEAKER_07Yes. Cooper had 30 tonight. I think that was her. I think it was her. You said it was something. Maybe it was she had like, it was like, maybe it wasn't. I feel like I see on her ponytail. Maybe it wasn't. Y'all, y'all let me know. I thought you said somebody blonde, bruh. Well, not blonde, but like she had like like it might have been, it might have been.
SPEAKER_05I think I know what you're talking about. It might have been Cooper. It might have been Cooper. Cooper had 30 tonight. Cooper had 20 something. What?
SPEAKER_07No, no, I think she was still in the game. Let us know for sure. Which young lady is.
SPEAKER_05The shit was a blowout, so it was younger than don't charge it to her heart, y'all. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but anyway. That's why we're asking you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, keep rolling. Load it to the ball um and to be physical on the inside and to do it fouling.
SPEAKER_02Can we surprise at all that the team fell into that big of a deficit after it looked like they might have turned a bit of a corner after the Texas game?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, I I think we we rallied. I think we didn't have I think we we fought towards the end. I think we got to off to a really slow start offensively. Um, and then our offense wasn't really the problem. It was getting stops.
SPEAKER_05She's sick of their ass, bruh.
SPEAKER_07I mean, look look at Cooper. Look at her. I already know what that looked like. She's done. She's done. I already know what that looked like.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_07We could pull a side by side of my last, my last interview like that, the last game I senior year. I look just like that.
SPEAKER_05Bruh, Kim is finna go in the locker room and explode, bruh.
SPEAKER_07They gonna explode. The girls gonna explode.
SPEAKER_05Everybody's going to explode, bruh.
SPEAKER_07Everybody's gonna explode.
SPEAKER_05Carry on. Carry on.
SPEAKER_04Um, Z has kind of struggled since having this really strong Georgia game. Just what do you see from her where she needs to maybe adjust to get back to being a consistent producer for you guys?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think we need to get her more looks early and then um work on being physical at the ram when she's on the inside, um, or putting her on the outside and then creating space for her and letting her go kind of like she did against Georgia. She was driving more from the three, um, and we've she'd been posting up against the zones we've seen.
SPEAKER_02So, do you feel like there's been kind of a common theme between these road losses, or has it kind of been something different every single night?
SPEAKER_01Um, it's it's been the same thing. What Coach Kim said, just uh transition or defense, downloading to the ball, zone play.
SPEAKER_04Uh Kim Lauren had a really nice night for you guys instead of the loss. Just what did you like about what she did and just how Lauren did have a nice night.
SPEAKER_05Hurst. Yeah. Yeah, she Lauren did have a nice night.
SPEAKER_03How she's continued to develop. Yeah, I thought she was a great spark for us tonight. We were on her about not shooting versus Texas, and she went out there and she shot the ball with confidence. She rebounded well, she was physical on the inside. Uh I thought she looked like she belonged on the floor in a big game, and I was really proud of her effort tonight, and hopefully that will carry over.
SPEAKER_02Right. Just with the short turnaround coming into the game, how do you feel like you guys handled it and what's the plan with another game on Thursday?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, we have one more at the end of the stretch, and then we'll have a day off after. So we have to regroup again. These we're knocking these out here, so just gotta take what we need from this one, and we're knocking these out as crazy.
SPEAKER_07Am I tripping? Look at their faces, bruh.
SPEAKER_08Look at Kim's face.
SPEAKER_05Am I tripping? Bruh, am I tripping? We're knocking these out, bruh. The season, the seat, we're ready for the season to be over.
SPEAKER_07If Kim's face was like a meme, like the song that would be over, it would probably be like if a woman's fat up.
SPEAKER_06Am I tripping?
SPEAKER_05Is that not crazy?
SPEAKER_07We're we're knocking these out. You know what though? Listen, I'm let me let me get up off my girl, bro. Like she just had a baby not too long ago.
SPEAKER_05I was gonna ask you that question. Let me get up off the girl. Is she the one who had the baby? Is she the one who had the baby and took the job and then returned? Okay, cool. I had to make sure. Okay, cool. She just had a baby, bro.
SPEAKER_07Shouldn't you get your money fist? Because listen, that that that in itself is hard. That in itself is hard, okay? That's a whole lot of adjustment that you gotta do. But also, you know what? Y'all brought this up because that's why she pissed off, and I wouldn't take care. But I'll I her family is probably with her. I'm gonna assume her family's with her. But it's still the principle behind it that I'm spending my time with y'all away from my kids and my family. Because I love basketball and I want to make y'all better. And we at the fucking University of Tennessee. Almost back to your point is I shouldn't have to put a fire up under your ass. You at fucking Tennessee. Hey, Candace Parkership, Candace Parkership. Yeah, but it's just like, bro, that that's one thing as a coach that pisses me. Like, like I told you, my husband coaches, and sometimes like his teams be bullshitting, and I'll be mad. Like, bro, this nigga ain't been home. Like, you know what I'm saying? He been like, sorry, just take it out. You some getting a little heavy. You know what I mean? Like, he's at the school practicing and all this stuff. Like, it's uh it's it's a sacrifice to do that. You get what I'm saying? And it's so so to get people that you know come in and don't care or don't have that same care, like I can I can understand why that's frustrating.
SPEAKER_05And for me, Courtney, that's why I didn't want to coach. I'm gonna be honest. I love my husband too much. If I'm keeping it a buck, I love my husband too much for this to sacrifice my time with him and my love for him and give it to somebody else.
SPEAKER_07That don't care. That don't even care.
SPEAKER_05I I I sacri I I love my husband. But then again, y'all let us know. Y'all let us know. Because it's like, to be honest with you, I'm confused. I don't, I don't know what it is. You know what I'm saying? For me as a player, for me as a player, wearing orange enough. Wearing orange and the little the little baby blue would be enough for me to stop somebody on defense. That would be enough for me coming from a mid-major school, I can tell you that. That would be enough for me. Thanks. So I don't, I don't, you know what I'm saying? So y'all let us know what y'all think it is. Because we just tell you, as hoopers, what we, you know, what we grew up watching, but we'll carry on.
SPEAKER_03Get ready to your next scout.
SPEAKER_04Do you feel like during the game tonight that you felt the same togetherness of the last couple games? Did you feel like maybe you guys lost some of that this game, or did you feel like you guys were still kind of giving the same effort?
SPEAKER_01I thought we gave the same effort. We played through the hard stretches, like I feel like we played as hard as we could. Like we played.
SPEAKER_05That tells me a lot. Well, they faces no saying that she thinks that they played as hard as they could. That no, it tells you a lot.
SPEAKER_07That tells you, and then you look at their faces. She's like, I can't even look y'all in the face that she says it's live.
SPEAKER_05My person who has 30 feels like we played it as hard as we could when we didn't get stops on DC. With like 45 uh paint points, and we let somebody else come and get 39 and drive what they wanted to do. We played as hard as we could. So go ahead, carry on.
SPEAKER_02Right. Similar question. Do you feel any better after this one? Because it didn't get as out of hand. You've made that little comeback at the end. I know you want to win every game, but did this one feel any better just because it wasn't as ugly as some of the other ones?
SPEAKER_03I mean, it could have it could have got there. So I'm I'm happy that it didn't get there, but no, you're not happy with any loss. We obviously wanted to come in this one. This is when we we wanted to win.
SPEAKER_04Or just in your mind, what's kind of the biggest thing that has to change with, you know, obviously if Texas and there's even three ranked matchups to end the season, like what really has to change in those last three to maybe still win and you know add another one?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think our our transition defense is gonna be the biggest point of emphasis, box out, second chance points, and doing it without fouling are gonna be really important in all of those matchups that we have left.
SPEAKER_02What do you need from her for the rest of the season to get her good back going?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think that we didn't have great offensive flow at the beginning and just being patient and taking what comes to you and playing within the offense. I think she'll be fine. Um, I'm not too worried about her production, her performance. I think she'll bounce back.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. Thank you. So let me ask you a question, Courtney. Hold on, wait. Oh, hold on. We got what's the name? Hold on. Yo came on in my background, so I had to cut that out. Um, but I I really don't I really don't care what you got to say. Uh if I'm being honest. Um, so let me ask you a question, Courtney. How often, as a you're a you're a D1 college athlete, right? You were, you know, we throwback. How often do you work on transition defense in practice?
SPEAKER_07All the time. All the time. All day, all the time. I mean, transition defense is is is so y'all like usually like certain stuff like this is broken down into sections. It's like a it's a section type of thing. You know what I mean? So that when we put it all together, it's like one moving piece. Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's a section, a section, a section, and then in that section on defense, it could be just the rotations, you know what I mean? But at the same time, offense is working on their stuff too, but defense is working on rotations, yeah. You know, we're working on two things at once, yeah.
SPEAKER_05You know, um, real quick, I want to add when you're saying what it's broken down in sections, right? In a in a in a practice, and the thing about it is the key point in that is you're being stopped. If you got a good coach, I can't I can't speak for everybody, you're being stopped if a mistake is made and being corrected and why that was a mistake, right? Intra in that. If you got good coaching, that is happening for you to learn and understand what not to do. Right. So go ahead. Right, we're stopping it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't want to see you be an all-American against some walk-ons or facts guys playing in the rec league. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05In a D1 track, in a D1, and we talk about being major, I can only imagine the high level, but exactly. My coach came from an Arkansas great, went to a final four.
SPEAKER_07So everything you said, like you need to stop, and we're gonna do it again. But it's all in sections and in repetition, yeah. You know, so that when we put it together, it's one working machine. But, you know, as you go on, like now we're doing five on five. Yeah, so we should be working on transition. That's something that you do all the time. At least 30, 45 minutes. And I I mean, nobody wanted to stop Ole Miss today in transition.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_07Nobody. No, nobody wanted to guard in the half court, nobody wanted to stop anybody in transition. Um, it was just it was it was bad all around, all the way around. And um, I I hate to I hate to see that that Cooper thought this was their best. That they thought they played hard. You know what I mean? If anything, that just g like you said earlier, it just kind of gives you that that tells you everything you need to know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You get what I'm saying? Like, that tells you everything you need to know. If you thought that was your best and that you played hard. Exactly. So there's that.
SPEAKER_05That's you play hard with Nagar, because you know your assignment, you know your assignment was Cody McMahon. Matter of fact, it's three players that low-key, who you know your assignment was, who did more than they job today. Cody McMahon, I know the assignment wasn't 39 and 10. Whoa. Five assists. I know that with I know with uh Chris, what's the Christine? I ain't gonna try to pronounce her last name because y'all be on my ass when I when I mess these kids' names up. 16 and 5. I know that wasn't the assignment. Then Lattimore, I know the assignment wasn't 14 and 12. So you tell me that's your best?
SPEAKER_07It's a sad, it's a sad situation. But you know what I will say though? I hope that they can like because you gotta remember, we ought to go back. SEC is the best conference in women's basketball. It's it's one of the it's one of the toughest, y'all. It is the toughest, it's the toughest, yeah. It's the toughest. So like I can't even count Tennessee out. I mean, like, you're like, it's the SEC. You know what I'm saying? Do I wish they would have played harder? Yes. What I'm saying is that do I wish they would have played harder? Yes. Do I say they could surprise some people in a tournament? Yeah. None of them teams in the SEC are teams that I would sleep on, period.
SPEAKER_05I love you, Courtney. I love you, Courtney, but after what I've seen the last three games, and you know, like I said, I feel you where you come from because it is the truth, but I love you. And you know, me and you was always on one accord. And after what I've seen the last three games, after the person who had, shit, I got mine. The person who had 30, shit. I did my thing the last two games. Shit.
SPEAKER_07Stay with the like I played hard.
SPEAKER_05Shit. I mean, we played our hardest. And we know defensively, you missed all them assignments with the top three players.
SPEAKER_07Facts.
SPEAKER_05Somebody almost went for a 40 piece, they missed the free throw, but you saying we play hard and nothing changed from Texas until today. Facts. I don't know. It's giving put a put a put a fork at them. I don't know. It's giving putting it.
SPEAKER_07Like, I'm trying to give them some some hope, just saying, like, listen, man, like y'all just get you can't just get down right now. The SEC is hard. And if anything, like y'all get more preparation than some. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, y'all kind of been prepared for this the whole year. You know what I'm saying? This the second half of the season or whatever.
SPEAKER_05Prepare for this for the whole damn history of the program. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean? It's just, um, you know, I I wouldn't count them out. I'm hoping that, you know, I I don't know. I don't know what I don't know what needs to happen. I don't know what needs to happen. It's just, it's just, like I said, it's just a disconnect between the players and the coaches. And you can you can see it.
SPEAKER_05Well, I'm gonna say this too, and I want y'all to know this is a real thing, and it's unfortunate. Wanting the season to be over is a real thing. It's unfortunate. It's a real thing. Wanting to be done, and I'm over this shit. That's so true. It's a real thing. That is so true. And as a person who wants to, who wants to win, who wants to make it to the top, I've been in a locker room where I've seen that. And I've known what it, yeah. She's ready to go ahead and be done. Go ahead, we might as well go ahead and leave. I've I've seen that. But it's like end of the day, like, we don't know. Like you said, we don't know. The questions are is it the players? Is it when is coaching being held accountable? We don't know. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, y'all let us know in the comments what y'all think it is.
SPEAKER_07Absolutely, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But we can't shortcut, we can't not give credit to uh Ole Miss because Cody McMahon did her thing. She reached 2,000 points tonight, super speeded on that ass. Yeah. Yeah. Reckless driving is just gonna go to damn Tennessee, period. As a damn suspended license is gonna go to Tennessee.
unknownPeriod.
SPEAKER_05Suspend that damn license, bruh. Because end of the day, like I said, I love my program personally. And it's end of the day, like I'm a type of person where like you ain't you don't mean nothing to me if it makes sense. When it comes to on an even playing field, like when it comes you, you get what I'm saying? Like, but Tennessee's a program where like me wearing wearing orange should be just enough, bruh. Yeah for me to stop somebody on defense. Again.
SPEAKER_07The way that people look at Yukon should be the exact remote. It should be enough. It should be enough. Like it really should. And I think that's great. The example you gave earlier about like, you know, just a coach like teaching you guys about the history of Tennessee Tech. Um, and I'm a sending her, bruh. It makes me it makes me wonder if they really do understand the history of of Tennessee. And like really, like, are they really in the community, like talking to some of these people that were around during the Pat Summit era? Yeah. You know what I mean? And like what it means to wear that jersey.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um, it's not that they don't have the the pieces to be great. Um, they just get in their own way.
SPEAKER_05How involved, but let me ask you another question because we see how involved when it comes to UConn and they alumni, I value the shit out of what they have. Like, I I'll I look at that and I'm like, damn, like I want that for my program. Because, like, you know, them jokers stick together. Yes, they do. You get what I'm saying? Them jokers stick, and like I said, the only thing, it's like when it comes to UT Tennessee, it's like, do we see that? Maybe it's not as loud. You get what I'm saying? Like, maybe it's not as we see. But why not though? But why not though? But why not? Why not though? But they got they got the one girl come, they got a big recruit coming, y'all. Um, Jesus. I can't think of who it is right now. Y'all go ahead and put that in the comments too. And and she got an Adidas deal. So you know Candace Parker did that work with her position with Adidas. You get what I'm saying? So it looked like you know, Candace doing her part, what she can, but it's like I feel like we don't see more of what we should, or maybe we don't know. It could be private. I don't know. I know I do my part. You get what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? So it's like we don't see that. We don't know. But um, anywho, we spent a lot of time on that, but it's okay. It was worth it. Uh it was definitely worth it. That was good points. Let us know, y'all, if you how y'all felt about that segment, because I felt like that was some of our best work. Pop your shit. I felt like that was some of our best work. Absolutely. You know, I do we give do we give Cooper a a speeding ticket? You know, I wanted to until that damn press conference. Until she said that she.
SPEAKER_07I just don't think we should be giving like a ticket. Did Tennessee anything?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I don't think they get good. I don't think the team should get good. I feel we're giving a super speeder out. We giving it to Cody McMahon get a super speeder. We're giving that shit out. That is what it is. Um That is what it is. But before we get into the next games, we are going to take a quick little break into because we do have a mid-major spotlight. Yes, we do. Um, we've got Taylor Taylor Chirik. Hey now. Yes, we do. We got Taylor Chirick from Montana State. Okay, Montana. This is one that I missed because sis had a triple-double late January. Sis went ahead and put a uh, let me find it, a 31, 11 steals, and 12 rebounds on that ass. So this is one that I missed. Um having a good little season, great season, averaging close to 19 points a game, I'm pretty sure, but we gotta give her this one. Um, she's a guard, 5'11, big guard, big guard, sophomore. At that we we love an underclassman. Um so we go ahead and give her the mid-major spotlight. I love that. Love that. But um, anywho, so let's see what's next, honey. Let's uh let's talk about the games for this week. All right, what we got?
SPEAKER_07Uh Wednesday, we got Baylor, Texas Tech. Mm-hmm. Ohio State and Minnesota. I haven't seen Minnesota play at all.
SPEAKER_05I need to watch. I I have plenty of time. I have plenty of time tomorrow. Um TCU plays Houston, honey, this 1 and 13th. UConn playing Villanova. They played together, they party played once, haven't they? Yeah, I think so. And what was the I'm not even gonna ask. Uh Michigan State, who's 18th in the country, plays Northwestern. Not really a lot of traction, but Baylor and Texas Tech will be a decent game tomorrow. Um, I can't tell you who I think. Y'all let us know. We got we trying to be better guys about spreading out, but according to y'all love the SEC, honey. Like, y'all don't really care if we ain't talking about nobody else. So we gotta go with what y'all care about.
SPEAKER_07Y'all, I love the SEC too.
SPEAKER_05Me too. Me too. Me too. Um, so Thursday, we got uh, you know, we need to talk about Duke more. We do, we do need to talk about it. We need to talk about Duke. We need to tap into Duke more. So I'ma tune in tomorrow because they're doing great things. They're 14 and 0 in the ACC. Shout out to Carol Austin because she's bringing that program back. We need to tap into them more, we need to give them more respect.
SPEAKER_07Um, I mean, absolutely, because we talked about them early in the season.
SPEAKER_05Yeah right?
SPEAKER_07And it wasn't good, it was bad. And we watched uh what, two games? Yeah, and it wasn't good. We watched two games a day. And it wasn't good, and it wasn't good, and I was like, oh my goodness. But hey, I love to see where they at right now. This is exactly what you want going into the conference tournament and March Madness. So I agree with you there. Turn up there.
SPEAKER_05So let's we're we're definitely gonna start paying more attention, y'all. Um, so shout out to the Duke fans after if there are if there are any. Uh that's crazy. Because you know, they they another men's basketball team.
SPEAKER_07Men's basketball, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Oklahoma and Georgia. That's gonna be a good game.
SPEAKER_07It is gonna be a good game.
SPEAKER_05That's gonna be a good game. So I wanted to do a live with that game, but Courtney has obligations uh with the children.
SPEAKER_07I'm trying to get my son to the MLB, y'all. As she should. Hey.
SPEAKER_05Hey, only thing I want is some tickets for real, for real. I don't want nothing else. All I want some tickets. I got you. I'm trying to be in like the little the little champions lane. I got you. Okay, cool. That's the I got you.
SPEAKER_07Listen, my son's gonna be like, Ma, can you like just turn down just for a little bit? That's cool. Tell me when what's the season again? Uh it's about to start up. They're about to start like uh like kind of like I guess like I guess it's their quote unquote individuals, like how we do, like before the season starts. Okay. So like just like little workouts like here and there. It was supposed to start last week, but not just waiting on availability. But it's just Coach Pitch, though. It's just Coach Pitch right now. This is last year, Coach Pitch. They wanted this team to stay together because they are really good for their age.
SPEAKER_05Send me, um, do me a favor, please. Uh send me my little homie's favorite snacks, and I got him a little care package for the season coming. Girl. Go ahead and send send that for me, please.
SPEAKER_07Listen, he loves icy's.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_07Umcy's, I can't put that in the box. Listen, he likes um like the McDonald's Icy's. So I need to send money. He likes money. Because kids cost money. I got you. That's all they that's all they like. No, I'm gonna get it. I got you. Yeah, I got you. No, but those are his favorite. He loves icy's, he loves Dave and Busters.
SPEAKER_05Damn. So homie what homie needs a debit card, is what I'm hearing.
SPEAKER_07I'm thinking a Visa gift card. Okay. He likes he likes V-Bucks and Robux. Yeah, girl. You talking about snacks. Little snacks. That's light, that's light work. Snacks it iterated light work.
SPEAKER_05Okay, damn. So bruh needs a debit card. He needs a bank account. That's what I told him.
SPEAKER_07I said, Christian, you you better make it. Okay. You better make it.
SPEAKER_05Um okay. Well, we worked that out.
SPEAKER_07We got high standards. I got him.
SPEAKER_05We'll work that out. I got him. Um, I I got him. Uh, Oklahoma and Georgia. This is a game. I I won't. I Georgia could get this one. They can. Based off what we play, it would be great for them to get this one. Again, another one that's gonna help them. It's good for Georgia to go ahead and get it. And they can get it too. They can get it. They can get it right now. They can get it. It's an opportunity there. They definitely can get that one. Um Texas, AM, and Tennessee. At this point, um Texas AM, I went why. NC State and Duke. I'm going. We like I said, we need to pay more attention to Duke.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But I'm gonna go with Duke on that one. Of course. Iowa and Purdue. Iowa, Jesus. I'll go with Iowa. Texas and Arkansas. Arkansas, baby, honey, they ain't won a game, boo. I just want y'all to get one. I don't I don't think you're gonna get it. You ain't gonna get it with Texas. You're not gonna get it with Texas. I hope that you get one. I say that. South Carolina, Alabama. I'm going with the game cards. Um, unless you and O Miss.
SPEAKER_06Where are they playing at? Oh Miss. I'm going with O Miss. Damn. I'm going, Ole Miss. Damn.
SPEAKER_07Well, dang. They got that girl. One of the like the girl that got hurt. You don't I don't know if you saw it, but there was a girl that got hurt for O Miss. And I feel like she's a crucial, like, role player for them. She averaged like nine points, like five or six rebounds. You get what I'm saying? A good defensive uh player for them. Um, and that's something that they like, you know, lean on is their defensive ability. Yeah. Um, but they're playing at Ole Miss. Um, I'm gonna say Ole Miss because man, Cody is just like I I like they literally are gonna have to get her in foul trouble.
SPEAKER_05That's the only thing I'm for sure of. I'm for sure with Cody doing her thing. Let me tell y'all something. Yeah, Courtney, you know when I know. Cody is when you're playing against a strong ass guard, bruh.
SPEAKER_07It's nothing you can do.
SPEAKER_05It is nothing you can do. There's nothing like that.
SPEAKER_07Like, let me say this while we on it. The one thing I feel like she's gotten better at is not because they she knows that now. Like, I mean, I feel like she's proud, but I feel like she's better at it. Take a charge. That is something that is on her scalp. Like, like when she's coming at you full force downhill, get ready to to take the charge. But I feel like in this, she can make a little move. She can make a little move, she slows down, yeah. She'll slow down, you know, jump stop, pass it, or whatever it is. Um, and I think I think that's great because she draws so much defense. Um, if anything, because we've had to question the heart of LSU, not saying that we've seen a lot of in the beginning of the season, like now it's better. Like, oh Miss is the type that like they they just gonna be like they at you the whole game. Yeah, Cody's gonna be at you the whole game. I feel like they they want the smoke, like they're very aggressive on defense, they're aggressive on offense, they definitely ram it down your throat. So I'll be interested to see how LSU responds to that. Um shit. I'm I'm I'm you already know what I'm gonna say. I hope I hope Michaela child. She's I I honestly she she is the I I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Sometimes Courtney, you just gotta just quit talking about it and let people do it.
SPEAKER_07I feel you. I ain't got nothing to say. I feel like do you feel me though? I of course like like I guess what I'm saying is that like am I am I sounding crazy to think that like Michaela is that like no piece that could really like take LSU from like here to here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you get what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Like, I just I feel like she can do that. Um we're gonna pull up something.
SPEAKER_05So I don't I don't know. We're gonna pull up something while we're talking about this. So we're gonna pull up these SCC standings. Let's let's get into it. Um LSU, old miss in Oklahoma got a one out. We talking about a buy now, so you need your top four to get a double bye. Damn, and Tennessee's still right there.
SPEAKER_07It's crazy. That's what it's is, yeah. It really can be anybody's night, any night. Any night. It can really be anybody's night.
SPEAKER_05Anyway. Is this even updated? It gotta be. Um, it gotta be. Um, so Georgia's fighting, you know what I'm saying? Um, but we're gonna see, honey. So who you got?
SPEAKER_07Who you got?
SPEAKER_05For their game? Yeah. I got the tigers.
SPEAKER_07You got the tigers? Why? Why? Like, or just tell me why you think they just I think they're coming off a loss.
SPEAKER_05Uh true. I think they're coming off a loss, a tough loss. I think with them, you get what I'm saying? Unfortunately, I think it takes for embarrassment. It takes for people to question them. It takes for people to talk shit. And sometimes it shouldn't do all that because that's a whole lot of energy. You know, I think Flager, you know, Flager's hurt a little bit, you know, after you know, her missing them free throws. So I mean, I think they come to play. I think they gotta be, I think unfortunately for them, they gotta be, they're a team that gotta be smacked in the mouth, smacked in the face. But at what point was it gonna take for you to do it your own yourself? You do it on your own. You get what I'm saying? So I feel like it shouldn't take all that. So I mean, I'm going with LSU.
SPEAKER_06You want to be with LSU?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm gonna go with him. Okay. I'm gonna go with him on the road. Like on the road, okay. On the road, I'm gonna go with him. Even though, I mean, old miss should feel very good after that loss. I mean, after that win tonight.
SPEAKER_07I mean, you want to see your best player playing like that. You sure do. For sure. Uh you know what I'm saying? If anything, I I I I just like who's I don't know. Jada, Jada might do it. Jada might do it. Jada has like you think Jada has she got to, she gotta bounce back. Michaela got a bounce back. Michaela gotta bounce back.
SPEAKER_05They, you know, so I didn't really, it's hard, y'all. Like sometimes, like, it's certain things, like it's it's hard. Like, if you don't watch a game a couple times, and that's why films are important to see everything. But a lot of people saying the Raven Johnson just went ahead and locked Michaela up uh last game.
SPEAKER_07I ain't doubting it. I'm not doubting it either. I ain't doubting it. But see, you know what, I had a proper thing. But you know what? That's see, and that just brings me back to what I had said in my my last video, right? Yeah, like, yeah, like like Michaela Blakes didn't score in that first quarter, right? Yeah, but you actively saw her, you saw Michaela Blakes that game. You saw her, you knew she was on the floor. You knew that she was on the floor. That's what I'm looking for. It may not be like all the the you you may not be hitting your shots, but hell, at least you taking them. You get you get what I'm saying? You giving you giving your team a chance. You know what I mean? Like, so that for me, it's like, okay, yeah, okay, she she locks you up, but are you trying? Or are you just like letting her guard you? Well, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_05I'm guarded. I'm gonna say though, I think that me and you, like, me and you really legit come from a standpoint of like we done played a whole lot of basketball. You get what I'm saying? We be knowing people who be on some, like, we be knowing that energy, bruh. You get what I'm saying? It's like some of the times, it's like the stuff that we be talking about, it be energy that you know what the energy is, or like you be like, yeah, I done seen that before. You know what I'm saying? So it's it's like it's kind of like that, like she done, like she done scored her little 20, she done did her job, and you know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, we I'm not saying particularly about that situation, but I'm saying just in general, but um, I mean, I don't know. But I I mean I'm I'm going with them. That I I I honestly like I really do believe in that team.
SPEAKER_07Like, I truly do, but not saying that I don't believe in Ole Miss, but oh no, but they just but I agree with what you're saying, like because like like I said in my notes, and when I have watched them, who do they play? When they play Vandy. It like Cody has to have a good game. Uh absolutely. So if Cody doesn't have a good game, Ole Miss is not gonna have a good game. A good game for Cody is 22, 25. It's it's it's some numbers. As Cody goes, Ole Miss goes. So it if I'm LSU, I would like my main focus, my entire focus, main focus is how can we slow Cody down?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean? Like she can't have 20 something. I give her 15, but she can't have 20 plus. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_0515 to be good. 15 to be you did your job.
SPEAKER_07They gotta do something with her, but like just Cody Cody is so aggressive. Like, I mean, I'm talking about like she just that she is she she at your throat the entire time. That's the entire time.
SPEAKER_05That's a weight room assassin. Man, that's that's a weight room assassin. Like, she's doing some stuff in the weight room that like you did. Y'all do like an endurance test, like how many times you can do 95? Yeah, yeah. Stuff like that. Yeah, that's a she might have dwell of them. It might have been a we she if she shouldn't do 95 pounds. Let's put 115 and see how much she can get out of there.
SPEAKER_07Because 95 is not a powerful.
SPEAKER_05We're gonna be here all day. Yeah, she she's one of them, which is uh the an amazing compliment. Yes, that is an amazing compliment.
SPEAKER_07That's an a compliment. She's she's one of them. And that's the thing. If if LSU can keep them out the paint, yeah.
SPEAKER_06LSU wins it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Ole Miss, the majority of their points are in the paint. The majority of their points are in the paint. Yeah. I just worry about LSU's, like, because it's been times where their toughness and mental toughness has been questioned.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean? So um that's the thing I'm worried about for them. It's just that that toughness and mental toughness to like push through, oh miss, punch you in the mouth. Because they're gonna do that. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_05I think that I think that this, I think that LSU, like when LSU breaks down and play defense, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's gonna be a good game for them. Like, I think this is a game where they should feel the need to break that. Because like I said, we're talking about seating at this point, but that comes down to your upperclassmen understanding what that means. Not everybody else probably understands that. You know what I'm saying? Especially you got big freshmen, but I do want to see more minutes from the people who deserve it on that team. I want to see that. I'm gonna say that. I want to see more minutes. I wanna see whoever I wanna see with whoever's playing good today. I want to go with today. I'll say that about that. But uh I agree. We're gonna, I mean, we gonna we're gonna see how it goes. But um that's all I got. That's all I got too. That's all I got too.
SPEAKER_07So we'll catch y'all on what? Thursday, right?
SPEAKER_05I mean, you you busy.
SPEAKER_07Do you want to do I said Wednesday? Thursday. I don't have nothing on. Well, Wednesday I got baseball. So I was just saying, I will I'll I'll be I I can watch the game.
SPEAKER_05No, so Thursday was I was trying to do a live Thursday. You were trying to do the Oklahoma and Georgia game? Yeah, I think that that's a big game for both of them.
SPEAKER_07It is a big game. I just don't want to go live for that shit.
SPEAKER_05I'd rather watch it separately. I feel you. You want to do so, like, let's do, let's see. So Sunday, old miss in South Carolina is going live. I mean, shit, I keep scrolling, girl. I mean, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Bandy. You want them to pick Michigan State, Minnesota? I'll just Michigan and all Michigan and Iowa. We can switch it up and take a break from we can go to the Big Ten. You wanna let them choose?
SPEAKER_06Damn.
SPEAKER_07Um I let's just we'll just play it by ear. Damn, we see it. Let's play it by ear. We gotta make a decision. No, if it was my decision is I would rather go live for the LSU and Ole Miss Game. I just think that's a good matchup. Like I think that's a great matchup.
SPEAKER_05Are you gonna stay up till nine?
SPEAKER_07I could stay up till nine. Now it'd be till when it gets to like 11.
SPEAKER_05I'm the game almost sober then.
SPEAKER_07I know, but then we like be on live and then we gotta record after I gotta get up at five.
SPEAKER_05Like it's gonna be a little bit more than a little bit, you know.
SPEAKER_07But you know what? You know, once I get like have me a little drink, I'd be like, I be ready.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we're gonna be next. We be ready to go. I'm down with it. I got time to get me a little nap. I'm down with doing that one if that's what you want to do. But we we gotta make our decision, bro. We gotta make our decision. We do, we do, we do. We're gonna let y'all go by Wednesday. I mean, by the time y'all watch.
SPEAKER_07You know what? You know what? Let's just, you know what? Epic. We're gonna go live on Thursday.
SPEAKER_05No, we're going live on Thursday. LSU O Miss. We'll go live on Thursday. 9 p.m. We're gonna have some lemon pepper wing specials. Y'all know how we do. We're gonna have a let us know what flavors that you want if you want a new flavor. We're gonna have all the specials you know how we do, okay? Yes. But um, we out of here. Y'all have a good night. Peace out.
