SPEAKER_11

Right.

SPEAKER_10

But um, let's get to it. We had some good games today. Um, wasn't really a whole lot. There were some good games yesterday too. I I ain't gonna lie, I didn't really watch any of them. But the babies was balling yesterday. Um, Olivia Olson had 31 points. Jelani Cambridge had 22. Your girl from uh Miller, is it McMiller from Penn State had 40 yesterday? She did, she had 40. She went crazy. I was about to say upset USC, but yeah. Is it an upset?

SPEAKER_09

Kinda, yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Kinda is it's a game USC shit's not supposed to lose. Yeah. Um Suarez from TCU had 32.

SPEAKER_14

Oh, that's nice.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, Perry from Cincinnati had 27. She be hooping too, Perry from Cincy. Yeah, I put her on the parlay yesterday. So that I mean TCA you TCU ended up winning by 13. Um, but that game, that Michigan Ohio State game went overtime.

SPEAKER_14

So uh I know I might have to watch that one back.

SPEAKER_10

I might watch that one tomorrow. I started out watching it. Uh yeah, the babies was hooping yesterday. Um Lesson.

SPEAKER_14

And even in that, oh sorry, even in Michigan and Ohio State, um, like I was just looking at the box score, and um, it looked like Source had a good night too. Because remember, we were talking about her like last game, just like, man, like, you know, I just kind of wanted to see her a little bit more uh well, we thought she was gonna be scoring like more points and being more active in there.

SPEAKER_11

But she had 20 games, seven and four.

SPEAKER_10

She did have a good game. She had a great game. Um she did. She was four from twelve from the three. Um chance Chance Gray had a good game yesterday. So they the baby, the babies was hooping. But let's get into today. We had some SCC play today. That's what you guys like. Um, we can talk about kind of what's going on right now. Michaela Blakes is Michaela Blakeson. I mean, she's got 24 points in the third, halfway through the third child.

SPEAKER_14

That's crazy because I feel like I just looked at the score and it was like Bandy was up like five or something.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Yeah. She'll turn it on quick now.

SPEAKER_14

That was quick. Oh my goodness. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

South Carolina's blowing out Missouri. Joyce is having a good first half. She's got 17 points. Umke and Florida State's close. 33-29. Toby's having her. She got a double double in the first half. It's pretty solid.

SPEAKER_14

That's amazing. Yep.

SPEAKER_10

Yukon blew out Georgetown, 84-52. Oklahoma blew out Arkansas. Bless them. Um Kentucky, 63-56. They beat Auburn. North Carolina and Virginia was close for a little bit. Um, was close for a little bit.

SPEAKER_14

Girl, I was I had to pull up that UK game just so I could see the stats. Tony Morgan has seven turnovers.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_10

She'll throw it to the stands now.

SPEAKER_14

You can't do that now.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. She'll throw it to the stands. She's uh the second half of her season isn't going well.

SPEAKER_14

It's not. I I I want to say maybe she's hurt. I don't know. Remember that last game? Like she kept like grabbing her groin or her. That was something. It's something.

SPEAKER_10

Maybe. She, I mean, she a senior. She a senior. You know, you at this point of the season, you you've oh, you've been over-trained your last four years. That second, being a senior in that second half, it's going to come. It's it's tough. You really gotta dig in, you gotta rehab a lot, you gotta take care of your body a lot. It's it's a lot. I mean, yeah. Um, but hopefully she turned it around, especially going into you know what they have coming up. Yeah, absolutely. Um poor Auburn, honey. They 3 and 12, bless it. But that coat, that coach just came from Norfolk State, so hopefully he comes and Right.

SPEAKER_14

Is this his second year?

SPEAKER_10

No, he just got there. He just got there, okay. He just got there, his first year. Um Louisville beat Georgia Tech 69. They needed that win. They did, they needed a good little bounce back win. Um, but let's get into so the games we actually watched. We watched um LSU and Tennessee. And it's so funny because before I text Courtney, and before the game I text Courtney, I was like, watch, I was like, watch um what'd I say? I was gonna say watch Tennessee have a good game today and play pretty well. But it started out that way. But um, I guess we can just kind of go through notes. Yeah, definitely. Um I put lay great in the first, then what the fuck? Because it was three turnovers. It was three turnovers, yeah. It was three turnovers. And it's like with her turnover, now she bounced back before y'all get the before y'all get to type it, and I talk about the bounce back, but it's like, it's like with her turnovers, it's like I really don't be understanding. It's like legit go one on four and just close my eyes and throw the ball back to the other team's basket, or it's just I'ma just throw it. I'ma just throw it. I'ma just throw it. In an attempt to save it. In attempt to save it. Yeah. Yeah, make that make sense. Um Tennessee started was shooting the ball well at the beginning. They were. I will say that. Um I feel like at the beginning I felt like LSU was trying to play a little me ball with the slow start. Um, so that right there was kind of blowing me a little bit. And then you know what I Jada made that big shot at the end of the first, 20 to 16. But you know what I asked myself after that first quarter, I said, when will Tennessee shut down? Cause at this point, when I think about Tennessee and I think about Ole Miss, where they're at right now, because Ole Miss got beat by Florida today, Florida tonight. And uh, we'll see if your girls got her press conference by the time we're halfway through this and see if we can pull that up. But it's like with them two teams, Tennessee and Florida, I mean Tennessee and Ole Miss, it's kind of like if you playing against them, regardless of who you are, especially like Florida and Ole Miss tonight, it's kind of like, you know how like a shark smells blood and they just go for the kill. It's kind of like that with them two teams right now. It's like they bleatin'. Go ahead and just finish them off. Got you. I get what you're saying. That's how I'm seeing both of them right now.

SPEAKER_14

I thought, so today I thought, I'll be honest with you, I thought I thought Tennessee played, I thought they played hard today.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, it wasn't bad.

SPEAKER_14

You know. I I I really do. Um I said, um, I probably said it's it's the best that I've seen them look effort-wise in a while. You know what I mean? Like, so I was happy to see that from them. I agree. Um, I said I I really wanted to see better execution uh from Tennessee in the half court just to get back in the game, especially uh when their three-pointers weren't falling. I feel like the past couple games that I've watched of Tennessee, I feel like they always start the game off good, even if it's halftime.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

The third quarter is their kryptonite.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

I mean, it always takes them out the game in that third quarter, but I always feel like they always do a great job in the first half because they do a good job of balancing both the drive and the three-point shot. You know? I feel like as the game goes on, I feel like they start to settle and they start to drive less. I feel like that was like their bread and butter. Because I mean, if let me see how many points they had in the paint. Because they're so long and they're big and they're athletic, um, especially their guards. I felt like they really can't get to the basket with these. It's the same story. Um, I do feel like they missed a lot of easy shots in the paint, too. Like they have to finish those. Um, but that is something that I I wish I would have saw more from them. Um what else did I say about them? I also thought like sometimes it's like I'm waiting for Kim to make like an adjustment of some kind. I'm like Cowwell? Yeah, yes, Kim Cowell.

SPEAKER_11

Hello, what's up? I didn't use recording. Okay. I'm good.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_11

Okay. Um, sorry. What'd you say? Okay. Go ahead, Courtney. Um I was what was I saying?

SPEAKER_14

Oh, sorry. Um, no, it's okay. Uh, that sometimes I feel like like I'm waiting for Kim Cotwell to like make adjustments. Um what adjustments? I I'm not sure. It's just something that involves going towards the like like so. If I said adjustments, I would just be like, okay, like our threes are not falling, right? Like, okay, y'all, drive it to the basket. They have yet to really stop you going to the basket. Go to the basket, finish strong, take it through the contact, or get to the free throw line. If I'm trying to get back in the game, I feel like sometimes those adjustments that I'm looking for from her. Um, it's like they're right there in the game. You know what I mean? Like they're they're right there. And then they'll go, like, you know, like, or what was this, the second quarter? They went on a 16 and 2 run.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

You know what I mean? Yes.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

And it's just like, what I and that's that's that's what I mean. I guess I'm just looking for like something to stop the bleeding. You know what I mean? What adjustments are being made to stop the bleeding? Now she could be doing the adjustments and they just not listening because we know that that happens as well. That could happen. You know what I mean? Um, but I thought I thought Tennessee did a good job of um in the first half of controlling the pace. Um, but I think LSU kind of owned that pace in the second half. Um, so for LSU, I thought LSU had a good game. Honestly. Truly. I thought they had a good game. Um, I thought they cut the turnovers down in the second half. I thought they rebounded better in the second half. Um, I thought they played to their strengths, which were like they played fast, they got out in transition, um, and they put themselves in a position to get to the free throw line. Um I have to give a shout out to Z. Yes. Um, because I thought she played great. And I just don't think people really realize how hard it is to play out of position, but also play out of position in the SEC. And as opposed to not be and being undersized. Yes, and that's what I mean. Being undersized, being a freshman, and you battling with some of the best big girls in in the country. Like, you know what I mean? Like, yeah. And to be able to be effective on the court in the manner in which he is, I think that's absolutely amazing. Um, and I definitely would like to see her on the floor more often. Um I don't think she turns over the ball. I think she plays hard. Um, she battles, she got hard. You know what I mean? All these things. It's like, shoot, roll with it.

SPEAKER_10

Roll with it. She should be playing a minimum of 25 minutes. And it's like, even in today, I feel like in the first half, it's like she's looking good. Yeah. But it's like, I don't know if Moki forgets about her on the bench or if she gets they forget about her. I don't know. But it was like, it was one time she was. I don't know if they don't want to play her and because Bella played a lot in the first half too. It's like I don't know if they don't want to play them three together, the freshmen together. You get what I'm saying? Maybe, but you know, I I don't, for me, I feel like why not give it a try? Because also, too, you know, and I know, at the end of this, at the end of this year, at the end of this time of the year, it's also time for you to start working on next year.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, yep, you are so right.

SPEAKER_10

It's it's time for you to start working on next year too. So I feel like I would like to see them in spurts more. I would like to say that. Yeah, uh, I agree. But I feel like Z's the one player. If we think about a player getting credit all year who deserves it from everybody, I feel like she gets a lot of credit too, like from fans, from social media. I feel like everybody likes what she's doing. So, and you know, that's that's not hard to please people.

SPEAKER_14

I'll be honest with you, I can't wait to see her next year like actually playing like in her position. Yeah. To be able to have that experience in the post, but also in on the wing. I mean, it just kind of opens her up to so many avenues, like even like at the next level. Yeah. So like I'm excited, I'm definitely excited to see her next year play in her true position.

SPEAKER_10

The big thing too is what's really hard. It's hard to guard the post.

SPEAKER_14

Yes.

SPEAKER_10

Defensively is where it's really, really tough.

SPEAKER_14

Without fouling.

SPEAKER_10

Without fouling. Yeah. When you're out of position. That's that's when it's hard.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, absolutely. Um, I thought Malaysia had a great night. She did. I thought Malaysia had a great night. Um I said she did what she usually does, but but I thought she she really helped her team today. Yes. You know what I mean? She really helped her team today. Um, and that showed. You saw it. You really saw her impact on the floor. And even though she had those three turnovers or whatever the case may be. At the very beginning. The the good that she did in the game outweighed those other things, right? Yeah. Like it was just kind of like, girl, like you were all over the place, but you was playing hard, she was making good passes, you were doing, you know what I mean? She was in the game the whole time. And I and I love that for that's that's great for LSU. She's playing like that going into the tournament and into the SEC tournament.

SPEAKER_10

You know what I say? I say, it's like the old school saying, right? It's like, it's not about what happens, is how you respond. Yep. So she got the little, come on over here, honey.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Come on over here, real quick. She got that, came in, made two threes. Yep. You get what I'm saying? So it's like, it's literally, it's not about what happens to you, is how you respond. So, like, if we talk about responding, she responded excellent today. Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

With the response. I thought so too. I thought so too. And you know, you know, I gotta give a shout out to to Michaela. Girl, I was gonna ask you. I was gonna ask you. So when I made this note, I don't know if she had more than this, but I said, I said, and last but not least, Michaela Williams. Thank you. And in all caps, thank you. Okay. Yes. When I wrote this note, she was 10 for 16 from the field. 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists.

SPEAKER_10

Finish with a double double, ten rebounds.

SPEAKER_14

Finish with a double double. She can do that every night. Yes. But and I and I and I expect that from her because she can do it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

But you you saw her, but and I don't know if you saw it, but I felt like it. You know how we talked about like maybe you only took like eight shots, right? Yeah. It seemed like you was everywhere. Fact. Presence. Presence. I felt like I saw Michaela today. She we knew she was on the floor. I knew that she was on the floor today, and that's that's what I'm asking from her. You know what I mean? Because she has to do that. And to end that, I said, and and also to piggyback off what you said too, to respond. I said, and as Bob Knight would say, the bench is the greatest motivator. Facts. So I don't know what happened in that old miss game. You know, she sat down that whole second half. Kim got in her ass. Face. And here we go. You know, because that next game, she was shooting them shots. She was aggressive.

unknown

Face.

SPEAKER_14

Where they played, Mizzou?

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

Mizoo? And I think she had 20. Didn't she have 20 in that game too?

SPEAKER_10

Let me go back and look, honey.

SPEAKER_14

I feel I feel like she had a good game though. Um, but I'm I'm happy to see her being aggressive as well. Um It's time. It's time. It's time. It's time. It's time. It's time.

SPEAKER_10

So we had talked about early in the season, we said if we could get the big three, 20, 18, they should be averaging about 18 apiece. We said that. So today we got 20, we got 18. We got, let's even say across the stats. We got 20 and 10 from Michaela, which I think Michaela, if I've assists, she's capable of this.

SPEAKER_14

Yes.

SPEAKER_10

Every night.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Uh Lay, 18, 6 rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and two steals. She's capable of this every night. Regard to me, and I and people talk about I want to see, we talked about how they blew the last team out, Missouri out, and this, I want to see them against ranked teams. Yes. I want to see it too, damn it. I want to see them play like that too against ranked teams. Um, but even for me, the point that I'm making is what I j the stats that I just said, I still feel like they're capable of this against anybody. Yes.

SPEAKER_14

And at this point in the season, though, like, and it's it's like you have to do it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

You have to do it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

If I mean, like if you're if you're trying to win a championship and that's that's that's your goal, that's the team goal, yeah, then like you have to do it.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

Um, and I think as teammates, you have to hold those players accountable.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

Like, you know what I mean? Like, you have to like hold hold them accountable because they are the ones that are gonna carry you, carry the team across to the other side. Yeah. So they need that support and need all of that stuff, you know what I mean? So um, I love seeing that from her. Um I don't know how long I'm gonna be up, but uh, you know what? I'm listening Madison might have 20 and 10 tonight.

SPEAKER_11

She might.

SPEAKER_10

Okay. Honey, she might. She might. Um let's talk about uh I really like Jada Sybil from Tennessee. Yes. I really like I really like Jada Sybil. And she's a freshman. She's a very promising freshman. She's a freshman. That's a promising freshman. Now, well, she had 17 and 8 tonight. Sis might be packing in bags.

SPEAKER_14

I mean, she was she was uh Kiki in a little bit too much with them at least two players.

SPEAKER_10

Is she transferring? Is she going on? Is she? You know what I'm saying? I really I like her a lot. Um, let's talk about so Big Foe went three for nine from the free throw line. She's a liability right now at the free throw line. It is literally all mental. Like she's mental. She's in her head so bad over free throw. And it's and like, and you know, it's like they're saying that I didn't realize I thought she was shooting the free throw higher than 71%. Like, 71% is not the best, especially a guard, like at all. But it's like right now, like, I really hope that she gets out of this mental block because maybe next week that three for nine ain't gonna cut it.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, it's not gonna cut it. But you know, I've been there before where I've been in like in a slump with the free throws. And it is it's it'd be in your head. It's almost like you have to like sometimes like mine was so bad, it'd be like, I know I'm about to miss these motherfuckers. Like, that's how in a slump that I was, you know what I mean? Yeah, I'm almost surprised that motherfucker went in. Like, you know, like damn, you know, that's how much I was in my head about it. It's mental. You know what I mean? Like, so she gotta find a way to shake that off. Yeah, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_10

I'm kind of like you two, like, I think we've all been there. Like, but it's like, I think it comes with one, I feel like that's something you can also like. People tell you practicing and free throws practice. I feel like you can practice too much on those because it even becomes more mental if it makes sense. I feel like that's like I told you, like me, like when I went to sleep, I switched that routine up. I had to, yeah. Sometimes you gotta switch it up. Like if you're thinking too much, like I said, one dribble is going up. You know what I'm saying? Because it's something, and that could be it. You know what I'm saying? But she's mentally in her head. Now let's talk about before we get on to the next, because uh Kim Codwill's press conference is up. Okay. Um let's get into let's talk about Grace's apology.

SPEAKER_14

I don't who I don't even know who made her do that. Who made her do that? Who did?

SPEAKER_10

Did but you okay, so I thought about this.

SPEAKER_14

Or did they just ask her during the game or during the interview and she just, I don't know.

SPEAKER_10

Um I call it kind of like the the tail end of it, you know. I mean, even if she was made, I'm not I do do we the the question, do we feel like apology was warranted? No. No, even Cody McMahon said it wasn't warranted. You get what I'm saying? Like it's not that deep. But if if it was a situation where they did make her apologize, which me, I don't think they did, you know what I'm saying? If they did make her do that, that's a part of what I'm talking about as far as taming that beast. Oh, okay. You know what I'm saying? It's part of that taming, yeah, teaching. It could be that, you know what I'm saying? So I either way I'm not mad at it. You know, you know how.

SPEAKER_14

You know how the bad kids, the bad kids and they take uh a mouth, something like that.

SPEAKER_10

You know if you see like a little boy with his daddy, he got his hand over his head in public, just hold him the whole way, like you be like, that's how you hold back. You gotta, you gotta guide, uh not saying that she's a bad kid, but I'm saying like if it comes to what I said about as far as you gotta tame somebody like her attitude. It's that it could be, you know, it could be all across the board that we're taming. So we're gonna make you know what I'm saying? And then look about how she responded today. 13 points, 9 rebounds.

SPEAKER_14

And you know, now that you say that, that makes I I understand that, right? Because we're we're in we're at the end of the season, we're going into the tournament, yeah, and little things like that, you lose a game. Absolutely. You know what I mean? So I mean it's probably more of a thing like, hey, you can't be doing that right now. Exactly.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I mean? Exactly.

SPEAKER_14

You ain't got you ain't got enough skin in the game for the ref to just look the other way.

SPEAKER_10

Exactly.

SPEAKER_14

You know what I'm saying? Exactly. Michaela Blakes can do something like that, and we're gonna turn around, right? Exactly. When Angel was playing, Angel's gonna do that, and I'm gonna look the other way. But you're not there yet.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. So I love the maturity. You know what I'm saying? I love the maturity of that and the growth of that. So, you know what I'm saying? It could be either way. You know what I'm saying? But either way, I liked it. Let's um let's see what oh what old Kim got to say. Sorry, no. And then let's see what your girl got to say too before we get into that. Hold on.

unknown

Yeah, I got one.

SPEAKER_10

Who you pulling up first, Kim? I'm pulling up Kim since we owned the game. Pulling up, oh, oh, Kim got well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I thought we looked pretty good in the first half, and then when we came out, they really picked up their effort on the offensive glass, and I think they had 14 second-chance points in the second half second half, and we didn't have any. And that was really what a lot of our offense was coming from in the first half. So a big swing in the game for us, but a great environment today for their senior day.

SPEAKER_04

You and you and Kim shared two long embraces both before the game, after the game. Anything you might share as to what she may have said to you, what you may have said to her.

SPEAKER_01

She can share that if she wants to.

SPEAKER_03

What was working in the first half? How were you all able to get a couple leaves in the first second?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we were sharing the ball, we were moving the ball as a team. Um, again, I think we were doing a really good job on the offensive glass. They obviously made the adjustment that that was harder for us coming out, and they really picked up their effort uh at the ramp, and we gave up a lot of second chance points, and we gave up a lot of offensive rebounds. I mean, there were a couple possessions where they got three or four in a row on us.

SPEAKER_00

Coach Bree Andrews with WBRZ and Baton Rouge and Michaela Williams had 20 points, five assists. Just what made it so difficult for, I guess, to guard her today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she she's a great three-level scorer, and we had a hard time staying attached, and she has such a nice mid-range shot that we weren't really able to get connected to it and just shoot shot right over us.

SPEAKER_04

Kim, I know you've talked about fouls and putting an emphasis on the defensive end of the floor. How would you just assess how the ladies did tonight?

SPEAKER_01

It was better than it has been. Still needs to be a little bit better. Um, a little undisciplined fouls at the rim, and we're we're stuck in a hard place. Sometimes we're trying to block shots at the rim and they're coming away with and ones, and sometimes we're standing there not even moving our feet and they're getting a clean look. So we have to find that balance. I think that's really been the detriment of our team is guarding in transition, and when teams put their head down and go, and we have to find a solution to that.

SPEAKER_03

How did my laser for Wilde make things difficult on you all tonight? And I'm looking forward going into Vandy. What are some ways you can maybe build on what you all did tonight and go into that game?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think kind of to that point, she's one of the best players in the country at just putting her head down and getting to the rim. And she can just get right by you, and you can have you can be in your gaps, you can give her a step, and and she's shooting the ball wetter better down here, down the stretch as well. And we're gonna go play a team that has two great guards as well. And so we talked about that in the locker room going into our next game of really we talk we call it two dribble wars, make them pick up their bounce and two dri two dribbles, not going where they want to go.

SPEAKER_06

Scott Raveli with the Baton Rush Advocate. Uh Coach, do you have any have you had any comment or do you have any comment about what Andrea Carter said uh about your program uh last weekend?

SPEAKER_01

I haven't made a comment yet. I think that it's fair for the most critical people of this program to be the people who have built this program. I agree.

SPEAKER_10

I agree. And we haven't made a point on that yet. And obviously, I'm gonna keep playing, but I love this response because I 100% agree because I feel like I can say whatever the hell I want to say about Tennessee Tech. Okay. I feel like I so I I love where she's going with this.

SPEAKER_01

And it's hard for me to get upset with a lot of critique when I'm my biggest critic and I know that things aren't going the way that they need to be going, and I don't not leaving work every day happy and satisfied and patting myself on the back. No one in our program is. We have a program full of love, we have a program full of honesty, and we know that, and I think that that's why they've been able to be be so resilient through this.

SPEAKER_04

J I'll ask you a question. Uh, just what was Kim and the coaching staff's message in the in the locker room at halftime and and how would you just sort of assess how you guys handled the last 20 minutes of this game?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I would just say that um we would go we were supposed to go out there and just, you know, um get keep it the same way as we did in the first half, you know, just playing hard, you know, offensive rebounds, rebounding, playing together. And that was basically what she said to keep it together and keep going out there and playing hard.

SPEAKER_05

Um briefly on the perimeter shooting, I think you have at least four in a row with double digit made threes. How do you are you happy with with that approach and that that rate? And how do you rec if you are happy with it, how do you reconcile that with the overall results you've been getting?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was funny. I told my staff after the game, had you told them because we shot the season we started the season not shooting well, and I said if you would have told me we would have been hitting 10, 11 threes a game over 34%, I would have told you we would have they would have been translating to wins. Um part of it has to do with how our schedule has stacked up this back half of we're playing some of the top teams in the country, a lot of them on the road. And part of it is our defense has taken a step back.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you.

SPEAKER_10

Thank you. I agree with that as far as the defense taking a step back.

SPEAKER_14

Literally a step back. Yeah, Bandy, they next game. I'm like, Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. And that I yeah. Is it I is it their next game? Let me see. It it I think it is Sunday. They made it seem like it was the next game. Yeah. It's at home. I mean, it's at home, and uh, I mean, shit. Michaela Blake has 30 again, guys. I mean I don't. I was just looking.

SPEAKER_14

She's 32. Okay.

SPEAKER_10

Five minutes left.

SPEAKER_14

Five minutes left in the fourth. She's got 30 again, guys. 50% from the field, y'all.

SPEAKER_10

Six percent from the free throw line. She got she be turning that bitch over too, boy. She's in the she's another one who turned that thing over, but honey, I I I take 32 and five. Okay, me too. Any day. I I take the five with the 32. I take it, honey.

SPEAKER_14

And any day.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, she got 30 again, guys. I mean, um, so yeah, uh the Andre Carter comment, like I'm glad I love her response from that and just what she's saying. I think that she has every, she had every single right to say what she wanted to say. Because I get that. Because like she said, I I and it's like when we talk about too, right? When I always, when we went on the soapbox and we talked about just taking pride in wearing that uniform. Yeah. You get what I'm saying? And it's like too, and it's like with her, you know, she probably has way more inside than we do. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And she's probably done a whole lot more than we are. You know what I'm saying? So I mean, I feel like that's somebody I'm listening to, and somebody who, oh, that's your opinion on it. That's how you feel. Cool. Educate me. And I mean, I feel like she has every right to say what she wants to say. You know, so I agree. Um I love that response. But um, so old miss lost to Florida. I saw that. Um I watched the fourth quarter. Yeah. I watched like the fourth the fourth quarter. Man, what's the name? I think it's like what I just said. Like, old miss is old miss is blood right now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

It's a tough stretch. It's a tough stretch for them and Tennessee. They bleeding right now.

SPEAKER_10

Finishing them. They are. Um Liv went crazy. I saw that. I saw that. 28, 6, 8. She had five assists too, but they were just taking it to them, man. Like, just taking it to them. I don't, I'm gonna see if your girl got a little press conference that she's doing. But what do we think about? And you know, we talked about like last time too, when it was uh, you know, Yo was talking about how she don't think it's fair if they drop, if they get, you know, which they ended in the top 25, which they did ended up going back two spots. Um, Kentucky ended up staying. Mm-hmm. Bandy ended up staying where they were at, but they won. You get what I'm saying? They ended up winning. But it's crazy, like Kentucky got a one today. The person who got beat dropped, I mean lost again today. You get what I'm saying? So it's like maybe there's that when it comes to predictions, maybe that's just calling it how they're seeing it. Right, right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I don't know. Um, we're gonna pull up the uh SEC standings too. Okay. I don't know, do they have this up yet? I don't know if they have Coach Joe's up yet. I don't see it. Um we'll pull up the SEC standings because so this is good that somebody asked what we meant when we said what a double by was. Okay. So I thought that was a really great question. And I'm like, that's I I and also too, y'all, if you kind of because we have some people too who's kind of like new to basketball as far as watching basketball, if it's things like that that you don't understand, like, um, shame on us for assuming that you know those things. Because I mean, that's a that's a good point for us to explain what we're talking about with that. So please let us know if it's something like that you want us to explain further, because we would gladly do that. And then I will pull up, I'll find the bracket too. But um, so this is the SEC standings right now. South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt, LSU. Honestly, I'm really proud. I'm really proud of LSU, Oklahoma, Kentucky, kind of just where they because Oklahoma, baby, it looked rough for a little bit. It did.

SPEAKER_14

But they had a stretch, too. You know, they had to be.

SPEAKER_10

Besides South Carolina, you know.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah. They had to be a good one. The one OU game was enough. Don was like, Don was like, I bet not see it again.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, that that was enough. Um I bet not see it again. So just like with Oklahoma, like I said, it was kind of looking a little rough for Oklahoma, but then they've bounced back and they've made their way up to a number five. Which, if you would have told me that was gonna happen, I wouldn't have believed you.

SPEAKER_14

There's there's definitely a team that's gotten better.

SPEAKER_10

For sure. Yeah. For sure. And Tennessee, they just baby, they they back there with Alabama, Georgia, New York.

SPEAKER_14

But you know, though, I have like I like how many SEC teams do you think are gonna like make it to the tournament? The Sweet 16, like and all that. Let's see. Because even though like I'm thinking, so if if I'll use like I'll use Tennessee, it's just like they're on a bad stretch right now, but they've had a tough schedule. A lot of the teams in the SEC, especially playing in the SEC, the talent is just different, and that's just it is what it is. It's just a tougher conference. Um so when you're playing that every single night, is that a benefit for those girls and those teams in the SEC once we start March Madness? You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_10

I feel like you're playing the hardest if you think you're playing the hardest basketball right now. You know what I'm saying? Like if you think about you playing your hardest, and you know, and that's the thing about women's basketball, and it's unfortunate, like, and that's why I never really got into doing like brackets, because it's like we really don't be seeing upsets for real until maybe the sweet 16. We don't we're not gonna, you know, like the men's, you might 16 might catch a one, 15 might catch a two. Yeah you get what I'm saying? Like, we don't really see that as much. But I'm gonna pull this up right here, um, real quick, so y'all can see what I was talking about when it comes to um a double buy. A double by. So we took when we meet when we say a double bye, so it's the top four teams in the SEC. So it's South Carolina, it's Bandy, Texas, LSU. They don't have to play these first two days. So they get extra rest and they're not playing until Friday. So it's key, it's a good thing when you do your work early because you got South Carolina, who they're gonna play the winner, whoever the winner is between, you know, you got 16, 9, 8, and whoever wins that game, more than likely probably the nine seed, um, nine and eight, and they done had to fight for their lives, whoever, you get what I'm saying, the night before, and then it's a quick turnaround, and then here you are again.

SPEAKER_14

So, like so I was gonna say that, mention that, being that how close those games are. Because that's why that buy is so important, because they're playing like on a Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday. It's like back to back to back to back. So you want that double buy.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it it it m it makes a difference. It makes a difference. And the thing about it, like seeding really does matter. Like, we can say that it don't, but if you think about it, like LSU's number four, right?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_10

LSU gonna have a catcher. See, Oklahoma right now is five. Who they did beat, who looks like a totally different team than what they played them last time. Yeah. So you had Oklahoma and you got who whoever this is gonna be, honey. We'll say Oklahoma gets there. So they first game, they might see Oklahoma in the first game of the tournament. Yeah, a team they blew out, but we like we said, they look like a totally different team than when they played them. Right. You know what I'm saying? Not saying they can't beat them again, but it's a different team.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, I mean, of course, definitely not gonna well, hopefully. Kim's not gonna let them go in with that attitude, though. Who's seven?

SPEAKER_10

Who's seven? It's uh the Tennessee seven. I just had it. It's Tennessee seven.

SPEAKER_14

I don't know.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, I think it's old missed in Tennessee. So Tennessee seven. So think about it. If Tennessee now, Tennessee could let another one slip. I don't know. Like I said, right now they're bleeding. They could mess around and play, think about it, they could mess around and play Vandy Sunday, then mess around and play bandy again Friday. So it's just the way it works. But that's the I just wanted to show that kind of what that means and what that kind of what that looks like. Um, so it's important to do your work early because you're gonna need that rest, honey. Yeah, yeah. You're gonna need it. I'm gonna look to see if I can find Coach Yo one more time, honey, and then we can go ahead and call this a rap. Uh we missed you guys, man.

SPEAKER_14

We did. I was like, man. Um, but it was nice to have a little break though.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah. I needed a little, a little, a little, a little break. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

I guess we'll figure out what game we want to do live this weekend. Let's see. Let's see. We gotta kind of um so next week, honey, the schedule gonna schedule. Uh the schedule gonna schedule next week, baby.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah, because the tournament starts, the uh, what is it, the SEC tournament start next week?

SPEAKER_10

I did not know that the ACC tournament was here. I know, you text me that.

SPEAKER_14

You said you was gonna try to go, right?

SPEAKER_10

Uh I'm gonna try to catch, depending on, you know, how ours, how we work with this, I'm gonna see what I can catch. And um, now Friday, y'all. Friday's gonna be the quarterfinals. We're gonna have to see how Friday's gonna work. We might have to catch the early ones. I don't know if you what your schedule is, Courtney, if you're working from home, what you doing, we'll have to just play it by ear. Cause uh I'm gonna decide. Monday and Friday. Do you okay? Cool. Yeah. Because I'm I'm outside, so we probably have to kind of go early, the early games, and kind of see how they go. Okay. And then we'll figure that out. Um, yeah, this press conference ain't coming up. But we can um we can probably we'll I'm sure to be up tonight. We can probably record again tomorrow and then revisit this.

SPEAKER_11

We can record tomorrow.

SPEAKER_10

We'll do that and we'll figure that out. Uh see, how's what's the how's what's the name's up? How's Kim Moky's up? And then Kim Moky's be long as hell, honey. They be catching her a whole for 25 minutes, baby. Yeah, uh, yeah, what's the names ain't up?

SPEAKER_14

Maybe she ain't feel like. Oh, hold on, hold on, hold on.

SPEAKER_10

Hold on.

SPEAKER_14

I just I would be so mad if I had to do that after we lost. I'd be like, Hold on.

SPEAKER_10

First of all, I thought Hold on. Let's see if this is it. Cause why she ain't what press or post game at Florida? Why she in the locker room? We're gonna see what this is about.

SPEAKER_09

Florida came out and played with in a tremendous amount of energy. I was worried about this game because they had been playing high-level uh basketball um throughout, just not figuring out a way to win. Um, and they were able to do that tonight, and so you know, credit to them. As far as my team is concerned, I was just really disappointed in our our uh presence. I didn't feel like we showed up ready to compete. Uh right now, this is the time of the year where teams should be desperate to win, and I just didn't feel that desperation for my team. Um so that's something that I will have to look at and figure out how to um correct. Defensively, we did just uh an awful job. My team is used to scoring a bunch of points, and uh a bunch of those points were on the bench. Uh, well, didn't even play with Sierra and then Tasha hurting herself earlier in the game. So um, you know, we gotta get back defensive-minded and figure out how to be stingy and just gut these games out until we could get people healthy, and uh and then uh we really gotta hone in on to the identity to to dictate and disrupt.

SPEAKER_07

Coach, do you have an update on Latasha? Spring. Um, when she did go down, what do you think was it that kind of changed that made things even harder for you all going through the rest of that second half?

SPEAKER_09

I mean, I mean, it was evident one less person that can score the ball, but uh there's no excuse. Like at the end of the day, we still can defend. You know what I'm saying? Like, you don't have to score a lot of points to defense early in the year, and and Syria is the head of that. We used to be a defensive team. And now, because we've been scoring a lot of points, we really got excited about that, and that's just not our identity, and it can't be our identity right now because we have people that are out, you know what I'm saying? So it's just disappointing when we're out here and we're not defending at a high level, we don't even have a chance to win because our offense is not playing, so we gotta get back to who who we want to be, our identity, and uh come out and be better defensively.

SPEAKER_07

Uh, I wanted to ask you about the shirt that you all were wearing today. Um, I thought that was a pretty powerful message. I just wanted to ask what it means to you to be able to represent the history of Ole Miss in that way.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, I mean, it means a lot. At the end of the day, like I'm I'm grateful for it. Um, you know, I uh I don't really have much to say on it right now. But it but but I am grateful and and hopeful I know I'm the first, but hopefully I I won't be the last.

SPEAKER_00

Any more questions for Coach?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, coach, um we saw a career diet from Tiana.

SPEAKER_10

How is it how do you feel about Tiana's baller right now?

SPEAKER_03

She had to say that. Sorry. She is not into a bigger role tonight when like you mentioned Latasha was hurt.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, I thought Tiana did well. I thought she came out and competed. Uh she's future. The program, you know, she's just a sophomore. So she's one of the future pieces, her, Sarah, um and some of the others. So uh just a great great opportunity for her. Um, at the end of the day, things that we do out here has to impact winning. And so if I know Tiana, she's not excited about scoring 25 points and us losing. So we have to figure out a way to win.

SPEAKER_11

Oh.

SPEAKER_10

Well, bleeding. Yeah. Bleeding. Yeah.

SPEAKER_14

That's all you can say, man. And they injured too.

SPEAKER_10

It's some it's hard.

SPEAKER_14

A lot of hurt pieces, too.

SPEAKER_10

It's rough. It's like even with us, like Tennessee Tech, which I mean, hell, like, even with us, man, we got a senior on our team who's an all-conference senior. You know what I'm saying? Like, with her, she said, she set out. We finally got a damn win today, honey. Bless us. But um, Reagan, um Grimes, Reagan Grimes, like, she's injured. Like, when I went up there, I saw that shit. Like, is she gonna last? You know what I'm saying? For the rest of the it's it's tough right now. It's like you really do have to, you gotta take care of your body, and you really got to find it. Like, you gotta find it. And you gotta look, it's part of how is your coaches, how was your coaches practicing right now? What are they doing? You know what I'm saying? Like, are they taking it easy in practice? At the end of the day, like, especially if you think about the conference, right? You done played everybody at this point. You already know what who's gonna do what. Yeah, yeah. You get what you know who gonna do what. You get what I'm saying? Like, you know these teams, so it's get your shots up, get your rest. Like, that's what it's all about the summits. They're bleeding right now, man. Bless her heart. It's uh it's hell, it's hard on the job to come out there and lose and I gotta talk to y'all. But um facts. But anywho, so there's that. Um, let us know. Y'all take a look at the schedule this week and kind of let us know what y'all want to do as far as what games you want us to look at. Michaela Blake's finished with 35. Jesus. I mean, what is it? 11? That's 11 30-point games. Five in a row, something like that. Four in a row, we don't know.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Jesus. The girl is bad. I don't. The girl. And just a sophomore. People ain't scored 30 their whole life. She just does it damn near every game. She's averaging 30 in SEC play. I mean.

unknown

Fuck.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_10

Fuck. But uh, well, we'll just end on that note. Um, we gotta give out real quick, we gotta give out um who's getting speed speed and tickets speed tickets for uh LSU real quick. I'm gonna give uh Malay to me, I'm gonna give Lei a super speeder. Same. I'm gonna give Lei the super speeder.

SPEAKER_14

Yes, super speeder. Michaela gotta get the uh speed ticket. The speed and ticket. Yeah. Um who would be reckless driving?

SPEAKER_10

Who was reckless driving today? We can give Flager suspended license for them damn Miss Free Throws. Okay. We can give her that.

SPEAKER_14

Or we can give her reckless. We'll give her reckless. Suspended is like you ain't even where where freak is you at? We'll give her reckless. Yeah. Give her reckless. It's reckless that you guys that made it.

SPEAKER_10

Let us know which one. Yeah, y'all let us know which one. I'm with you with what you said though. Uh Lynn McGill, we gotta give her super speeder today against old miss for the 28th. Michaela Blake's. I'm not even, there's nothing else to do.

SPEAKER_14

She needs like her own special ticket, like a golden ticket.

SPEAKER_10

Well, we might have to leave one. For real. Super speeder of the year. Yeah. We're gonna have our own awards, okay? Because what the sh what the I just be watching like, and I and I I watched the, I didn't even catch the game, and I'm just looking at the stats like, who are you you just gonna do this again? Um, but yeah, that's the ones that we gotta give up right now. South Carolina is giving. I didn't even pay attention to this game. What which one? They balling, though. Joyce is doing her thing. Uh Ocott got 20 and 13. Hey, she really she a force to reckon with right now. Okay. Yeah, she's a for she's a force in that, she's a force right now. I'll let it.

SPEAKER_14

That's I that's what I'm saying, right? Yes. Am I making sense now? Yeah. Am I making sense now?

SPEAKER_10

You should be doing this. Exactly.

SPEAKER_14

Yeah. I make sense now.

SPEAKER_10

We only asking for 20 and 10. We feel that you're capable of it, damn it. I mean, if you're 6'7, then yeah. Yeah, we expect it.

SPEAKER_14

I mean, she's I don't know if she's 6'7, but I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_10

She's a big girl. She's a big girl. She's a big girl. Um, but um, so go subscribe to the show, please, if you haven't already. Um, we appreciate y'all for rocking with us.
