That wore me out, baby. I was like, child. And then, like I said, y'all told me to go live in the club. I was like, ooh, honey, y'all, baby, y'all are serious. Those days is over. Okay. I'm just barely there anyway. Hell. And they're tired as hell, needed to sit down. But anyway, um, so we had some great basketball last week, especially with watching the SC tournament. I have been watching the Mid Majors. Um, I've been seeing some good little, good little close ball too. I've been seeing some ballers. Um, hopefully we'll get some of the Mid Major ballers on the show for the uh series that we're trying to do. We are working on it now. But since we are talking about it, we do have a Mid Major spotlight. Someone actually sent this one in. But it's so funny because I actually had this one on anyway. I had this one like on my little radar. Um but let me share with you really quick. We have Francie Morris from the Stanford, from Stanford University. Um, freshman.

Sixth man of the year. Wow. Bald in the tournament. What conference is this? It's SOCON. SoCon. Okay. Um, SOCON. So we're going tech, we're going to the SOCON next year. So I'll be learning more about her when I Yeah, I can wait to hear more about that. Yeah, she's an Alabama kid. Um she had 22 points. Man, 22 points in the uh in the championship. But um, they got another freshman too. So hopefully, you know, she balls out. I think more than likely, they might give them from what I'm looking from back bracketology, Sanford, they'll probably be a 16th seed, maybe, and they might be facing Texas. But we'll we'll we'll see for that one. But um, yes, she is our mid-major spotlight, be looking for her. She's a freshman, so she got some years to go because she she's alright, she's balling. Um she's gonna stay? Yeah. Yeah.

I, you know, it's so funny. So like with me, with the mid-major, unless you come out as a freshman year in mid-major and you average in 30 or some some ish like that. You get what I'm saying? I'm with uh, depending on where you want to go, right? So I got a kid in mind. I got a kid in mind who we've discussed about what you might do, etc. And I'm like, you know, where do you want to go? Where do you think you can play right now? I think I can play here. Not really, not next year. I mean, you I mean, you gotta be honest with your kids. Yeah, you gotta be honest. You gotta be honest. If you want to play there, not next year, maybe junior year.

And I you know what? I think that's the conversation people need to have more often is like the honesty part of it. You know what I'm saying? Like, not because it looks good to other people, but yeah, is it a good fit for you?

Right, right, you know, and it's like you could you probably could go there, but are you gonna be happy with the results when you get there as far as you not doing what you know, accomplishing what you think? Because if we go from a skill set point, we come from a uh a physical point, you're just not there. Now you can go over here, you know what I'm saying? But maybe take the summer, go hard in the summer, work on this, work in that. Maybe junior year, you can probably get to that. You know what I'm saying? But yeah, so some of them that that's the case. I mean, that's just how I see it, honey. Um, but anywho, so we're gonna go over the uh top 25, the current top 25. Also, too, I don't know if we want to bring this up yet. I looked at a mock draft and I sent that to you, and maybe we can talk about that at the end of the show. Yeah because I was like, honey, I was shocked.

But anyway, but anyway, so when it comes to the seating, of course, we've got UConn, the number one overall seed. Um, so let me ask you a question. They're saying Texas, is Texas is supposed to be the three, well, if you look at the top 25, it's UConn, UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, right? South Carolina being the fourth seed, number one seed. Um do we feel like Texas should have been number two if you think about them beating UCLA and then beating South Carolina again? You get what I'm saying? As far as the SEC conference, the toughest conference that there is?

Do we think that I'm not mad at that? I didn't even like think about that, but I'm not mad at that. Like, you know what I'm saying? At all.

But I mean, if you go, if we go in off losses, you know.

Yeah, I think that's what a lot of the AP is, right? Oh, for sure. It's fluff. For sure. Um, but that's a good point. For sure. I wouldn't, I mean, yeah, the because the SEC is way tougher, you know. So if we're gonna talk about strength of schedule and all that, like, you know, SEC, hands down.

Um, so yeah, I didn't think about that. But yeah, I mean you could, you could. But I mean, it makes sense if you think of it. They've only lost one game. Right. So I mean, I get it, I get it. But if I wanted to be, if I wanted to say something, I mean, and then again, if you look at between five and six with Bandy and LSU, I mean, there's enough, but I mean, if you think about Bandy lost to Unranked Georgia. Exactly.

Oh, I'm thinking about the they just got blew out by Ole Miss.

They got blew out by Ole Miss, first round of the tournament.

Um, I mean That's why they dropped. Okay. In the fashion in which they lost. You know what I mean? Like if it was close, it probably wouldn't have moved, but facts. It was the way they the way they lost. Because Ole Miss jumped up six spots. Right. You know what I mean?

Right, right, right, right. Good point. Good point. Also, too, somebody, I think somebody at Compkins was like, I'm still waiting on the old miss and bandy recap. Baby, you're gonna keep waiting because that game was last week and I was outside. We talked about it though on the recap. We talked about it, did we though? I think yeah, we did for a little bit. We did we did, we talked about, I mean, we talked about it on the live. We talked about it on the live. We just didn't do a separate, we didn't do a separate recap for it because it was too close. Yeah, and it's like, yeah. Yeah. Um, I'll tell you another ranking. I mean, but then again, it's like, where do you put them? I mean, I felt like Duke, I mean, I guess Duke is probably number eight. I mean, they went up five spots too. So, I mean, you can't go up no further than that. I mean, Iowa's had a good year. I mean, like I said, you know, the way that Oklahoma has finished, even though they went out kind of bad in the tournament, you know what I'm saying? But I see what you're saying. The way they they dropped three spots, but for me, if I think about from what I saw from them at the beginning of the year when it like beginning of SEC conference, yeah, when it just seemed like it just wasn't gonna come together or we didn't know what was gonna happen. We hated the offense, we hated what everything that they did basically. Uh I mean the way they finished, I would say, is to me is a okay. I mean, yeah. Because it could have been worse, so yeah. Yeah. I agree. So they they finished kind of I think they finished as strong as they could.

You know what I'm saying? If I think about just like the conference and the losses that they took in the conference, what they did, the lot the ones, the wins that they did get in the conference. I mean, you know what I'm saying? So I mean, if you think about it that way, because I mean only only two teams that beat South Carolina and they were one. Right, right. Uh so I mean, there's that.

Yeah. I mean, like, it looks I mean it looks fine to me. I I mean at this point does it matter? It don't even matter no more. It doesn't at this point, like, you know what I'm saying? It doesn't. Um, because I mean, hell, we starting over. Facts. It's zero zero at this point.

Hannah's Hannah's been playing great, man. Yeah. And she has to. Remember, we said that in the beginning of the year. You know what I mean? Like, she has to take 30 shots, 20-something shots. Didn't we say that? We did say that. We said that. I mean, like, you know, if it's not 30, we just she just has to look for her shot all the time. Yeah.

But you know what though? I will say with them, I feel like, I mean, with her leadership, because at first, you know, a couple, maybe like a maybe a month ago, I was saying, like, can't I was questioning, can she lead a team? Right. You go by herself. I mean, they should have beat, they should have beat Duke.

I felt like at the end, I felt like she took a bad shot, took a three, not realizing how much time she had. Like she should have drove. I think she had a better chance. So I think that was a missed opportunity. I think for them, I think that they have really come along in the season. And I think I might like their chances. I ain't saying no final four. I'm saying absolutely not. I'm saying maybe a sweet 16. I could definitely. Depending on where they're at, because at first I was just like, honey, it's gonna, I don't know about the exit. I don't know about it.

I didn't know either. But they have they have come a long way. Like a long way. I mean, and that's that's and we always talk about this is like this is what you want to see from your team going into the tournament. Yeah. Right? Them playing better, them feeling confident, um, going into the tournament. Um, so yeah, I mean, looks good to me. Um we still doing selection Sunday? Absolutely.

Um, obviously Tony Morgan. I don't feel like she finished the season as strong as she started. Same. You know, um, and then obviously the record. I would I could say that about Hannah. I think Hannah's had a phenomenal year. Um, but you know, politics and all that stuff go into it. Notre Dame hasn't had the great the greatest season. They've kind of been up and down all season.

Um Raven, I'll or I'll go to the uh people that I didn't pick. Um Olivia, great point guard. I love Olivia's game. I love Olivia, Olivia. But if we talk about conference, you know, like I just feel like conference-wise, point guard-wise, the SEC is just tough. So it really would be between for me, Raven and Rory. Me personally, I feel like just Raven had more of an impact on her team than Rory. Not saying that Rory hasn't had a phenomenal career. I mean, she beat the Steel's record. Um, what was she? MVP of one of the tournaments that they played earlier in the year.

Like, she's had a phenomenal career. So before people get in the comments coming at me about it, okay. What I'm saying is that I feel like Raven stepped up in a lot of big games. Um, she made big shots, her leadership. Um and uh yeah, that's that's who I'm rolling with.

If we talk about, let's talk about, let's think about the winners of the past, right? Of this particular award. I'm gonna pull this back up because I took it down. If we talk about the winners in the past, last year, Paige Beckers, the year the let the first the three years before that, Caitlin Clark, Paige Beckers again, Sabrina won it three years in a row, Kelsey Plum, Mariah Jefferson, Mariah Jackson, Odyssey Sims, Skylar, Schuyler. I mean, I ain't going no more further, but even if we go off the last, hell it was the same people, if we go off the last six, where if we think about just the impact those players they had on the team, if you think about what type of caliber player that the award has gone to.

But that's but you know, but you know what's funny though? The past five, like the look, you could go. Okay, you said Paige Beckers, Paige, Caitlyn Clark, Caitlin Clark, Caitlin Clark, then Paige. All non-traditional point guards, okay? So they should just have a scorn point guard category, and then they should have a, you know what I'm saying? We'll get to that next. Oh, okay. Because it's like, you know, like they aren't like traditional point guards. You get what I'm saying? So, I mean, I'm still going with my pick. I think Raven should win it. I just feel like she just had more of an impact on her team this season. Yeah. Um, I I think she's gotten a lot better on offense with her shot. Um, her defense is always, I mean, she's defensive player. What is it? Conference. Conference, defensive player of the year. Because you know, they got on me last time. They said they actually won the SEC championship. I know on my bad, y'all. They they lost the tournament. They were the SEC championship.

Um, but yeah, I just think Raven had a I I I just if I'm looking at this year and what Raven has contributed to her team this year on top of the obstacles that they had to overcome with injuries um and adding new people to the team and all of that, and still be able to lead her team um to only three losses in the uh regular season um and still uh the SEC uh champions. Like I just that that would be my pick. Okay. You know, that would be my pick.

Okay, if we go off the past winners, if I look at the list and look at the the familiar, what's the word I'm looking at? If you look at the what they choosing, you get what I'm saying? The pattern. The pattern there, we'll say that. I don't, I mean, do I think Raven has a chance if we talk about traditional point guard? Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. But if we go off of what they've chosen before, yeah, Olivia or Hannah.
