The babies are balling. Let's talk about it. Welcome to the Mid Majors podcast where the real hoop talk happens, unfiltered and unapologetic. I am one of your hosts, Takara, and with me I got my girl Courtney, and we are the Mid Majors. We saw the babies was balling today. They were. The babies was hooping. We saw amazing basketball today. Um, y'all was sitting for us asking where we was at, honey. Sometimes you just gotta take a little break and just spend a little time with your family, and we did just that. Uh Courtney, how was your birthday before we get into it? I had a great birthday.

SPEAKER_00

I'm recovering.

SPEAKER_01

I know that's right. I know that's right. I I went out, I went out last night too, and I had a great time. So, yes. Yeah, the break a break was needed. For sure. For sure. A break was definitely needed. But um let's get into it. So we can get into let's see. Um let's start with the top of the day. North Carolina and Maryland. That was a great game. Um that was a great game.

SPEAKER_00

North Carolina can play. They can. They got they got real productive minutes and everything from everybody the the entire game. I feel like it was spread out. Um I'm trying to find it here and pull up day stuff. Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

They all you're fine. They only had six bench points, but I will say, like, they start in five. I mean, they played a lot of minutes, but end of the day, it's that time of year, baby. We gotta go with what works. Everybody's play is go, is go harder go home. So I don't know what to tell you. Um they they played today. Uh the the transfer number 17, uh, she hooped. The one from UCLA, she was balling. She came out being aggressive early. Um, I I liked what I see with that team. Grant did well. I I I they surprised me today. Uh they played for the floor. They played amazing. Uh I just I think that they just came out aggressive. I think that now what was the foul count? Because I felt like, well, no, the fouls wasn't what I thought it was. A Luchi went three for 11 from the free throw line, honey. Ooh, damn on damn Marilyn. I was like, I know you effing lying. Uh, I'll say that. But North Carolina had 16 turnovers. I mean, I and they still won by eight. I thought it was a a pretty solid game. I mean, they fought hard. I mean, it was a good game. Uh, it's not really a whole lot to really say because I started splipping back and forth.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I thought they, I thought both both teams played really hard, even Maryland. I thought, I thought they played hard until the end. Um, not until the end, but to the end, I felt like I just thought they just ran out of gas. Because like you said, like we're at that point in the season where it's like those starting five, they're playing about 35 to 40 minutes. Like you're playing the entire game. And I just felt like I saw a little bit, a lot, not a lot, but towards the end of the game, I just felt like they were making mistakes that they weren't making earlier on. Yeah. Um, but the real topic of conversation in that game is Brenda Freeze coaching up um the young player. A little bit. Yeah. And um, you don't know what she's like.

SPEAKER_01

She said it started balling after the facts.

SPEAKER_00

And you you never know. Like right now, it's going viral on social media about you know Brenda being tough on her. And I love that the player went into the media conference. She was just like, I I like being coached hard. I tell her to coach me hard. That's what I like. And that's what she does, you know. Period. So, you know, for the people that don't play sports, they might be like, What the hell? Why is she yelling in her face like that? Like, what is that? But hell, hell, Kim Cowell could take that's what I'm talking about. Exactly. That's that type of like, be better than what you're showing me right now. You know what I mean? So it was and it was effective.

SPEAKER_01

It was effective. It was effective. It was look what happened. You know, at the end of the day, like, Brenda Freeze is a great coach. Brenda Freeze. She's been successful at Maryland, she's had a long career. End of the day, people like that, she knows what to get out of who. And look what happened, look what she got out of her player from that. So, I mean, just has all has off to North Carolina, Maryland, uh, hell of a season. Great, 20, it finished 24-9. There's not really much to say. McLean had 12 and 14. She was a monster on the boards for Steels. Um, I mean, North Carolina just they was just aggressive, man. Um, that's pretty much all I gotta say about that one. Let's get into Michigan and NC State, honey. Michigan looked good today. Michigan looked excellent. They look great. Excellent. I'll tell you a key thing. Sorry. Um you talk about having your teammates back. Olivia Ma'olson struggled the whole first half, had zero points, struggled. But stuck with it, kept going hard, kept shooting. Salah Swords was balling, shooting the ball well. Michigan plays defense. Michigan plays defense. I felt like they had they had Zam in a frenzy. Zam finished with how many turns? Zam finished with nine turnovers, they had ball pressure. I've always said I think that they play good defense. They play good team defense. Olsen, super speeder today. She came in with 27 points in the second half. And that's what I be talking about. When you a good player, man, like you can sometimes it goes that way. Sometimes your shots not falling. You literally got to stay in the game. Like, that's toughness. That's how it's not about what happens, it's how you respond. That's how you finish the game out. 27 points, remarkable. Remarkable.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, like, this was the first time I really I feel like I'll be honest, to really like sat sit down and watch Michigan, you know what I mean? Um since the beginning of the season. I definitely was a believer today, especially in their defense. I thought that half court three, two, like press defense thing that they were doing. That run and jump thing they was doing as soon as Sam crossed half court and they was picking their dribble up, just throwing that motherfucker, just throwing it. You know what I mean? Yeah. I was waiting to see some type of adjustment from NC State's coach. Because I mean, at one point at the end of the second quarter, they went, you know, six of their last seven possessions, they all were turnovers. You know what I mean? Like, so it's like, what are we doing? Like, why weren't there any adjustments made that we got to six turnovers in the last seven possessions? Insane. But at the same time, they had an injured team, right? Like one of your primary ball handlers is out. You know what I mean? So, like, you're trying to do the best you can. But Michigan was just a better team today. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I felt like it was a whole lot of when it came to that press. I felt it was a whole lot of watch um Zam with the ball and see what she does. I mean, and then I guess rightfully so, because the fact we're coming off a person uh who just had 30 last game. But I mean, she can't do it all. They had 22 turnovers, NC State as a team. 22 turnovers. Michigan only had six.

SPEAKER_00

That's 10 of those in the first half.

SPEAKER_01

10 of those in the first half. That's the ball game. Um Salah Swords, she's turning it on at the right time. Uh she was for a while. Bruh. A slump for a while. She looked excellent today. She shot uh four for 10 from the three. Um they should as a team, they shot 33%. But she was just being aggressive. I felt like she was taking what the defense gives her. She took care of the ball. It was so many times in that game where we talk about half-court execution, right? And you know, she's a sophomore. It's plenty of times where, you know, she got the ball, held the ball, got the team in the offense, told everybody where to go, organized the offense, boom, execution. Stuff like that is what's going to matter at this time of year in the NCAA tournament.

SPEAKER_00

And I've been talking about that like the entire season. Like, especially a lot of the teams that we have covered have been the SEC, but that's what I always say. I say, when you start playing some of these like more fundamentally sound, more disciplined teams, it's gonna take you having to have that quarter awareness to be like, we need to slow it down. Facts. I need to slow it down, we need to run an offense, we need to set something up, I need a basket right now. So um, yeah, you're absolutely right.

SPEAKER_01

Camille Pierre, she got a turnover in a crucial time of the game, child, where she threw the ball to the player. I'm like, right in front of the referee. I'm like, child, y'all be y'all gotta be better. Uh it was a couple times. I felt like Zam was just holding on to the ball a little too much, but nobody was cutting for real, for real. You know what I'm saying? I felt like it was a whole lot of standing and walk and walking, but because I'm kind of like with you on the adjustments. Like, yeah, where the where where's the what type of press break is this? Like, I'm confused. Like, what me, like what are we doing?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe like five of them, they just came over half court and picked it up. I'm like, what are we doing?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah, what are we doing? But I like what I saw from Michigan. Uh if Michigan, if they keep that up, honey, honey. I agree. It was good. Um, let's get into so Ole Miss and Minnesota. Before I really get into what I saw, I want y'all to know in the comments, was Cody fouling? Because I missed it. Like I said, I was in between trying to watch so many games at one. Same. It was she fouling? Let me know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I missed the, and it's so crazy because she must have picked those fouls up quick as hell. She did because I see within like the first three minutes. I was like, I turned it on, it was like five minutes left in the first quarter, and I'm like, why is she in the game? And I check ESPN and she got two fouls. I'm like, that was fast as hell. So I mean, they couldn't have been like crazy fouls. I mean, I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Like we talk about when it comes to adjustments. Yeah. And you know, if you it's unfortunate, but it's the truth. If you get a team who's overly aggressive and you get a team who's not as aggressive, who who what was how's it gonna go? And I feel like it was a whole bunch of calls in that game where I was just like, child, like but I hate I hate the way that her season had to end off that last charge call because that was questionable, but like that was some BS to me. I didn't like that one.

SPEAKER_00

Um I hated that. But you know, but it's that, but it's also like, bro, like she's the best player on the team. Are we you really called them quick little fouls on her in the first quarter like that? And granted, I did not see them, and they might have been like fouls. So, right? Like, I don't know if they were fouls, but if I'm if I'm comparing it to what I saw in the game today, I felt like there was a lot of like just touchy touch fouls that could have just been like let them play, like play on that type stuff, you know? Um I thought Minnesota did, I thought they did walk Ole Miss down. Yes, they they walked down. I think for me, and I I send this to you in a text message. It's like since we've covered the SEC a lot and we talk about the SEC a lot, I always say like the SEC has some of the the best talent, you know what I mean? Um super athletic, super fast. They want to get up and go, they want to take quick shocks and they want to do all of this niche. Go, go, go, go, go. And that's what makes them so exciting to watch, right? Especially when you watch them uh in season. It's so exciting and it's so fast, it's so exciting to watch. But it's like, you know, when we get to these more disciplined teams, like we just talked about, yeah, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Are you gonna be able to guard for 30 seconds? Right? Right. Because you're so used to being the SEC and and y'all y'all hold the ball for 20 seconds, just dribbling, and then at 10 seconds you're trying to create something off the dribble, right? And that's my offense. And then you go down on defense and you're so used to that in the SEC, you know, quick shots, real quick shots, 10 seconds in the shot clock, I'm making a shot, I'm I'm shooting it, whatever it is, and y'all down the other way. Well, hell, you playing a team that don't play like that. Facts. They're gonna run some screens, they run off screens, they curling, they doing flare cuts, all types of stuff. And you gotta keep that up for 30 seconds. I thought it was a lot of like breakdown in defense with Ole Miss because Minnesota ran that offense, you know? Yeah. Um, and then I also thought like late game, I thought like just Ole Miss took some bad shots. Yeah. Um, and there were moments that I just thought they needed a more precise bucket. I was looking for better execution. So like I think it was that last, that last ball screen. I want to say uh Sienna came off that uh high ball screen. It won't even high ball screen. They they set that ball screen at damn near half court. So I'll just be like, what the fuck? Like, what why are we setting the ball screen way out here? But okay. But you know, they hold it for 20 seconds, they come up set the ball screen, and then you just come off the the screen and give me some bullshit ass shot. And I'm like, is that the best we could have got? Like, you know what I mean? We talking about late game, tie game, 61-61, and that was the best executed play that we could get.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You get what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

No, 100%.

SPEAKER_00

100%. It's just kind of going off what you just said earlier, it's just like as we get further into this tournament, those little things matter. That execution, like being fundamentally sound, those little b details like that from the players and the coaching staff. You know what I'm saying? Um, I again I hate that uh old Miss season ended like that. Obviously, you don't want it to end on a buzzer beater like that. And that was a hell of a shot. It was a contested shot. Okay, I always like to say it was good defense, but better offense. Better, yep, better offense. And ain't nothing you could do about that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You talk about, and you talk about too, just what old Miss Neaton plays. First and foremost, I do want to say I felt like Ole Miss was well coached today.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I felt like at the end, when the uh when they went down to that timeout that Coachio did in that play that she drew up to make the pass get on the for Lattimore to drop, excellent play execution. You're gonna need to do that too this time in March. Excellent play. I loved it, thought it was amazing. But you talk about needing a basket. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Pause. I'm so sorry. So what you just said about Coach Yo drawing that up for Lattimore, right? We need more of that earlier in the quarter, or we earlier in the half. If you can do that late game, why are we doing that more when we need a bucket earlier? You get what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

But also, too, I think that you I think, okay, so let's say this. I think also too, at the end of the day, if we talk about what Michigan did, it's certain your coach can't always bail you out. Players gotta make place this time of the game, too. Players gotta make place. You know what I'm saying? Just like I talk about Salah Swords. Let me slow it down. The coach, I ain't gotta do a timeout for that. Now, I'm not saying that she didn't need a timeout, but also too, like sometimes your coach can't always bail you out. You gotta be able to do it. But I will say this also, too, it's kind of hard. We talk about, you know, you need your offense. We need our offense to go through somebody if we need a bucket. It's hard when your best players on the bench can't be off and on, off and on, off and on. That's an adjustment to make too. But also, too, if we talk about something else we've always been talking about during the season. If you see they call it Tic Tac fails, what do you have to do? You gotta adjust your game. You gotta shoot more jump shots, you can't back people down. You can't, it's gonna be hard to drive. You gotta use your jumper. You get what I'm saying? So I mean, when it comes to that, that's just what I think. Like I said, y'all let us know in the comments. What's this fouling? Because I missed the first two. I didn't think the last one, and it goes to show too, like I always say, too. I feel like referees let the kids play, know the, know the game, know the situation. You got the best player. It's three, four, four minutes left in the game. You got your best player who's trying to make a move. Do we really want to call that? That's knowing the game. Like, call the block. But I don't know. Like I said, y'all let me know what y'all thought. I thought it was close. I like I said, the the charge call and the block call has been a struggle all year. I just saw one with Duke and Baylor where uh to uh Telea Scott. It was a charge. They called a block. It it's been it's the hardest calling basketball. They, I don't know, training, whatever. Y'all let me know what y'all thought. But like I said, I'm like you. I hate to see the game end that way. Um, shout out to Minnesota. We can't take away nothing they did because they just stayed, they stayed steady the whole game. Stayed steady the whole game. They didn't look because they could not give down, kept fighting, and sometimes that's all that's what it's all about. It's all about who's, you know, it just comes down to it. And it came to a last second play. They made a tough shot. Like you said, good defense, better offense.

SPEAKER_00

I think this is like a uh an example of having that, like, those first couple games at home, kind of pulling them through. I think being at home on their home court with their fans really pulled them through that game. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. Good point.

SPEAKER_00

Shout out to Minnesota for that.

SPEAKER_01

Good point. Um, okay, let's see here. We got Oh, we got the Tigers. Hell of a game by the HOA.

SPEAKER_00

Heck yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Hell hell of a game by the HOA. The HOA came to play. Big Foe was Big Foe. Michaela Williams was aggressive, was going to the basket, making shots, making tough shots. Uh uh LSU started with an 8-0 run. I felt like Big Kate was securing the rebounds instead of letting the rebounds go off her fingertips. I felt like she would have good energy. I felt like she was going at the loose balls. I felt like with LSU today, I felt like the energy was there. You get, but home court advantage. We had something to play for. It's Big Foe's last game. I we what they did today, like I've been saying, we want to see you click at that right time. We want to see a certain level of dominance in March. Can't carry that over. It was a great team effort today. Yes. Amazing. And that's good defense.

SPEAKER_00

Even looking at the, you know, like the stats, this is what I'm talking about. It's like, it's community ball, but the HOA stepped up. Yep. That's that's what I'm talking about. I'm I'm all for the like I said, I'm all for the community, but the HOA needs to lead the charge, and I feel like they did that today. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

The bench came in, solid gave solid minutes. Bella came in, kept came in being aggressive. Uh Amaya Jorner came in off the bench 18 minutes, still had a double-double. Uh Grace came in, gave you good minutes. Uh Jada made tough shots. Zakaya did what she always does. I mean, LSU had how many, I want to say at one point, now it this was in the first, in the second quarter. I wrote down the timestamp. At 534, they had 16 points off turnovers. That's what I'm talking about. Remember when I talked about when they played against South Carolina, how you have to capitalize off those turnovers. If you want to have a chance, give yourself a chance to win the game. Because remember, it was a couple times it was three on two, didn't score, maybe got a little excited. If you play like that, that's dominance. That's how you put people away. That's when you because we know, you know, once they once they get a good lead on you, they get the feeling good, they have five, and everybody pumping the crowd up. You know what I'm saying? That that was an advantage for them today. But take 10 of 10.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, even even saying that, like, because remember I texted to you, I was like, you know, we have five and laughing when things are going good. Always, right? See, that's the thing with LSU for me. There've been plenty of times where things are like, you know, they have a couple of possessions where things just go, you know, crazy. Yeah. You know, now they're yelling at each other, and now they're rolling their eyes, and now they, you know, is mad and all this other stuff. So it's like I want them to be able to kind of like push through that, that, that, that when it's not everything isn't clicking, right? But being able to like stay together and still push through to, you know, make the right plays and make the right decisions and not go on some spiral where I didn't threw the ball out of bounds three possessions in a row, and now I got a charge and a foul, and it's like a snowball effect of a thing with them. You get what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

No, 100%. But I'm putting that, you know who I'm putting that on? I'm putting that on big foe today because you see the leadership that we saw today. You saw when it was going, you saw the level of leadership that we saw with her today. When it was going good, she making her shot, she threw the. I want to see that when it gets tough too, all the way through. That's what I'm talking about with that.

SPEAKER_00

I agree.

SPEAKER_01

I tell you something else too. With LSU, I want to say that I saw an amazing shot selection with them today. Okay. I I thought the shot, I mean, they shot 56%. I thought the shot selection was was fantastic. I mean, Kate was three for five, Z was four for six, Jada, Jada was three for seven, Michaela was nine for 15, Flaw nine for 13, Grace 1 for 3, 3 for 3, 2 for 5, 1. Lay was 1 for 5, but I mean, you know what I'm saying? She didn't have the best game, but she didn't really have to. You know what I'm saying? She came in, had a which also, too, a point that me and Courtney had talked about. Lei came in, because you know, we make a joke and we like, okay, when the turnover coming? When she came in, she did have a turnover initially with the charge. However, that was not her fault. I understand LSU and their philosophy of them wanting to get the ball and go. I get that 100% transition, but I don't like to get the ball and go when there's three defenders already. Because at the end of the day, you can tell the scouting report is that. When it's certain teams, you got certain transition teams, the scouting report may be two people get back off a rebound. Right. And I think in that case, you saw that that was the scouting report today. Two people get back each time they were back, but we still want to throw the ball ahead and put her in a position where she's trying to go one on two, one on three, whatever. And sometimes it ain't always the best situation. So that turnover was on her teammates. That wasn't on her. And they did her, they did that to her twice. So it's like, I don't like that. Sometimes get the ball to the guard who's right in front of you. Let's come down, especially when the offense was going your way anyway. Let's set up, let's make a play, let's be smart, let's get better. And today was the day where they could have done that.

SPEAKER_00

This is a game that you do shit like that in. You get what I'm saying? Because, you know, moving forward, uh, you can't afford to have Malaysia have two fouls. Exactly. You get what I'm saying? Like, can't afford to have her sitting on a bench. So, you know, I'm I'm sure that's something that's gonna be addressed, you know, before the next game.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, is that uh Bailey Moppin had zero help today, but honey came out, honey came out was shooting them jumpers, child. None. I mean we

SPEAKER_00

She's not gonna be able to sustain that the whole game. At all. At all. And she couldn't, you know. But did her best.

SPEAKER_01

She did her best. 92% from the free throw line from LSU. That's great. I I mean, I 39%, 7 for 18 from the three. I thought the shot selection was immaculate today. The rebounding was 44 to 27. That lets me know they're being aggressive. Only had 10 turnovers. That's a stat for that team. Only 10 turnovers.

SPEAKER_00

It is.

SPEAKER_01

Only 10 turnovers. Flaw had one. Michaela Williams had one. Lay had two. Kate Caval. I mean, your guards took care of the ball today. They did.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, no, they took care of business today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the guards took, I mean, excellent. I mean, like I said, I just like the energy and the hustle.

SPEAKER_00

Same. And it's been an up and down type of season for LSU, so if you you you're happy to see that at this point in the season. So, like I said, I like I want to see that same energy, you know, next game. Like, I want to keep that same momentum, like going into the next game. For sure.

SPEAKER_01

And because they gonna have to, honey. You got Duke. You got Duke coming up. If Duke finishes this out against Baylor, which I don't like the effort. I'm not, I'm not, I'm done watching this game because I don't like the effort that Baylor has whatsoever. They're not hustling, getting back. Duke just on a mission too, honey. When I tell you Karen what best out them babies.

SPEAKER_00

I said the way Kara been talking lately, it sounded like she on a mission. Like she just she's just exuding, like, we we we ready for battle. Yeah, like the way she's been talking, like, you know, like 100% effort out of the out of these babies.

SPEAKER_01

100% effort, okay? We got Texas coming up. Like I said, Duke and uh LSU, I that's gonna be a good one. That's good. I'm ready to, especially with the way these both of these teams played today. They both look good on an even playing field, if you ask me. I'm gonna say as of right now, but Baylor looks so bad. I'm gonna be honest, as far as effort-wise, they just look, it's one bunch of one-on-one ball. I'll say that. So this is gonna be a really good game. Like I said, LSU got the first one by landslide. We're we're looking at two different teams with Duke and who they were when they met up the first time. Gonna be a hell of a game, man. I I'm ready to see it. Like I said, same. The same effort from LSU. If they keep this up, hey, they keep it up, they on their way. They on their way. For sure. Um, but that's pretty much we want to do a quick read.

SPEAKER_00

What happened yesterday?

SPEAKER_01

What happened yesterday?

SPEAKER_00

Georgia, Georgia lost yesterday.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, oh yeah. Oh, we didn't cover yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

Let me go back. Georgia lost yesterday. Uh, man. Georgia lost their overtime to Virginia, but Virginia was balling. Virginia was balling. Virginia was a bigger one. She was hooping.

SPEAKER_01

She she's a monster, boy. She she's a beast. Your girl uh Smith from LSU, she she put it on them, started out eight for eight from the field. She put it on her yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Samaya, right?

SPEAKER_01

Samaya, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she was hooping too. She was hooping yesterday. Uh let me go back and look. I know the biggest thing is USC and Clemson. That was a that was a big thing. Because you know, Clemson had hit uh uh basic, it it was a game-winning shot at the end of regulation, but it didn't count. She didn't get off in time, you know, so you went into overtime. But um, we we knew that was gonna be a close game, but USC uh pulled that one out. Yeah. Hannah Hidalgo, go ahead. Sorry, how do we feel about Iowa having no AC in their gym?

SPEAKER_01

I did not see that. You didn't see that? No. I when I tell yesterday, I watched as much as I could. I watched as much as I could. Uh, but I like kind of checked out yesterday. I was like, let me just try to focus. I was checked out.

SPEAKER_00

I just kind of did like little hype.

SPEAKER_01

A little bit and stuff. I w I watched I watched uh uh Audi Crooks go completely insane against Syracuse with a loss. Like completely insane. 37 points. Jazzy went insane yesterday too with 31 points. Uh she went insane. But uh, girl, no. I know you effing lying. It's the last game, right? So they on to the next. Yeah. I was like, I was like, oh AC. I know you. I paid too much money, honey. Y'all playing. Okay. Play to too much money. Notre Dame and Fairfield. Fairfield. Like I said, Hannah Hadalgo, honey. She was everywhere. She on a mission. Yeah, she was she was everywhere. She's gonna have to really be on a man. Ohio State, babe, baby. That's gonna be a that's gonna be a tough one. They they're gonna battle. West Virginia dominated yesterday against the mid-major. Shout out to the mid-majors always. Uh Kentucky. Tony Morgan did she's having the game yesterday that I want her to continue to have for the tournament. I want her to continue to be as aggressive as she was, handle the ball, same, distribute the ball, rebound, score the ball. She did exactly what I mean. She she now she another one too that gonna turn it over by four or five times for you. She gon' she gonna she gonna throw that thing in the stands. She she's gonna do that. She's gonna do that.

SPEAKER_00

First of all, the whole Kentucky team will do that. They absolutely will do that.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, 16 turnovers the the uh entire game. Peggy McDaniel can play. I feel like that's a little low for UK. So I mean that's just my bad.

SPEAKER_01

Low-key. Pei McDaniel shut up to the mid-majors. I tried to get her on the show, but uh, I don't know what happened there. But she uh she was a hooper. I knew she I knew she could play though. She balled yesterday, she did the best that she could. She didn't shoot the ball great from the three, but she can she can still hoop. Kentucky I rebatted them 46 to uh 38. Man, was it yesterday when South Carolina beat the hell out of Southern? They did. That wasn't a game, baby. That was blessed they hearts. We ain't got nothing to say. Shout out to the HBCUs, man. Shout out to the city.

SPEAKER_00

I ain't gonna talk no shit. Because if Moorhead was playing South Carolina, we would have had 34 points.

SPEAKER_01

They did us like that last year. They they did us like that last year.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Listen, you do the you do the best you can.

SPEAKER_01

Did the best you did the best you can, honey.

SPEAKER_00

Good job for making it there.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_01

Tomorrow? They play tomorrow, right? We'll look. We'll look. Do we before we I didn't even UCLA, they came on a little too late for me, honey. I uh I didn't check that one out. But I didn't even watch the Iowa, I didn't the Iowa game, people was hit me up about it because it was a little close. It wasn't even I didn't even really look at it. Let's see. Tomorrow. And we'll we'll touch base. Like I said, Baylor finna come on in 15 minutes, so we'll touch base about that one too. Tomorrow, Louisville, Alabama. I got Louisville on that one. I got Louisville. Alabama playing good though. Um, Virginia, Iowa. Virginia's playing well. No, the game's still the game still is in Iowa. Well, we still in the round. Yeah, the game's in Iowa. I know you lying. With uh when L A C. You gotta play through it sometimes. You know what? AAU built you for that. You play in a little gym. AAU did built you for that, honey. Nah, anyway.

SPEAKER_00

Facts, facts.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Kentucky got West Virginia. Woo, that's gonna be a that's gonna be a good one. Syracuse, UConn.

SPEAKER_00

Syracuse. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, hey. Michaela Blakes was Michaela Blakeson yesterday with 23 points at halftime. My God. Yeah. I I watched it and I was just like, she Sasha Washington had a good game. Um yeah, Illinois, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and USC. South Carolina's gonna be too much for them, but wishing wishing USC the best.

SPEAKER_00

Wishing them the best.

SPEAKER_01

We might try to, we can look into, we can see about doing a watch party for uh I was looking at that one. You let me know what your USC and South Carolina.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Yeah, we'll do that one. That's fine.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I was thinking. That one or Illinois and Bandy. Y'all let us know what y'all think will be the better game. Y'all let us know. Um, and what's gonna be the better game? Not your favorite team. Yes, y'all.

SPEAKER_00

What's gonna be the better game? The better game. No, what they now they what they're gonna say is like, listen, we could just start off with the seven. We can. We can switch to the eight. We can do that. We'll give South Carolina five minutes. If they up 20, we're done. Yeah, just gonna stick to the Illinois game.

SPEAKER_01

Bandy come on at seven. Damn, I wish Wilson wasn't so uh uh I work from home tomorrow. I I would like to I would have liked to date no their name in Ohio State.

SPEAKER_00

Oh tomorrow. That's at four o'clock. It is at four.

SPEAKER_01

Would you want to go live at four? You let me know your schedule. Cause you know me, I'm flexed about. But I don't need people, I mean they might honey, they be on the live from the games. I don't know. They might have it on their phone, they be sneaking at work. I don't know. You know, so you we'll figure it out.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I wouldn't mind. Um, yeah, I wouldn't mind.

SPEAKER_01

Y'all let us know. Y'all let us know. Like I said, we could do that.

SPEAKER_00

We could do that. Christian got baseball tomorrow at 6 15, so yeah, we can at least get the you know what I mean.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we can figure it out, or we can do a recap in between the day or whatever. Um, Oklahoma, UCLA, baby, that's too late at 10 o'clock, honey. I'm because like I said, Washington, I'm gonna take a little nap before Washington and uh them folks, honey, because baby, that's 10 o'clock. But y'all let us know, like I said, what y'all think. The better game, not your favorite team.

SPEAKER_00

Better game.

SPEAKER_01

Um, because Illinois and Bandy starts at seven. I know seven is usually rough for you to get started at seven.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but uh James has spring break this week, so Okay. Uh that's that's helpful. Uh so yeah, uh, let's just play it by ear. I mean, if I had to pick a game that I wanted to do live, it definitely would be the Notre Dame in Ohio.

SPEAKER_01

So I think that's gonna be a a good one. But like I said, we can uh we'll figure it out. Y'all kind of let us know y'all's thoughts too as well. But um the babies is balling today. The babies is hooping, the baby it's March, the baby got the babies got the March in their veins. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's a it's about to get real now. It's getting real. The the play play is over now. You know what I mean? Like it's it's it's it's we down to the nitty-gritty of the some of the best teams in the country. And really, some of these games can go either way. Either way.

SPEAKER_01

As of right now. But we from here on out, baby, it ain't no, it shouldn't be no more cupcakes. Yeah, shouldn't be no more cupcake, honey. I well, I don't know. Maybe for some we'll see. It's a couple ones. It might be cupcake. USC might have a little cupcake tomorrow, maybe. But last, you know, the last time I said they had a cupcake, and then what happened? Exactly. Yeah, it might be a few little cupcakes, but it's finna start getting real, real, real and fast. But um, yeah, this was fantastic. Uh fantastic day of basketball. Y'all have a good day. We'll see y'all pretty soon. Y'all have a good one.
