SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the Mid Majors podcast with a real hoop talk happens, unfiltered and unapologetic. I am one of your hosts, Takara, and with me I've got my girl Courtney, and we are the Mid Majors. If this is your first time viewing this show, do us a favor. We have been trying our best to keep up with all of the portal T's. So hit subscribe, turn your notifications on. We are doing the best that we can of staying on top of it, honey. Some of the times they just gonna have to be butched in together, okay? So um had some family time over the weekend. My mom came in town, she's been here for six days, so spent some time with her yesterday. Um, so we're doing the best that we can. We are working on the WNBA free agency list. So we'll be recording about that later, right, Courtney?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we will, and pause. Yeah, had to order my baby food.

SPEAKER_00

Go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

Christian, come here.

SPEAKER_00

No, probably. So we will be diving into the WNBA free agency later today. So again, subscribe, turn your post notifications on, because we're gonna be diving into that. We also will be doing a WNBA draft live show tomorrow night at 7 p.m. So be ready for that too as well. But um, honey, the portal, the portal has thrown me for a whirlwind. I mean, I can't speak for y'all. Um it's hard to keep up, man. It's hard to keep up, and it's like literally happening by the minute. Y'all got a little spoiled last week. I was trying to get them all as they happen, but honey, it's a lot. The goal is to get to a point where we can do that. The positive thing is we just got us some support.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So we got a lot of support. So like I said, it takes a village. Um, we're doing the best that we can. We appreciate you guys for sticking with us and understanding that it takes time. Um, all with that being said, before we actually get into this, sorry. So if you are a member, join the membership. I have posted a behind the scenes of what it takes to make this show work. Um also will be posting because we're working on call-ins. We're still trying to get that down where it's not stressful during the show. So I'll be posting kind of what that looks like too as well in the members only. So if you care about behind the scenes, we'll be posting like different stuff that me and Courtney talk about off camera and stuff like that too, as well. So get ready for that. Sea Lake Boom. We just had another. Somebody else. I just got a break-ing with the with the portal. Um Ayana Patterson. She committed to Kentucky. And it's funny because I literally, my um, is she is she from Indiana? Because my homeboy literally was just telling me about a girl who was leaving. So she's going to Kentucky, 6'2 sophomore.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not mad at that.

SPEAKER_00

Me neither. Kentucky needed some people. I've been waiting for the side. They needed some people. I've been waiting for them to enter the chat.

SPEAKER_01

They needed some people, and that's a good pickup for them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

See, I'm like more excited about some of these like players coming from these, like, like, I mean, coming from UConn, UCAT to you. If you got to UConn, you got game.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

So I really want to see her. Like, I I just I love that. And I think somebody made a comment. They was like, because I said, go somewhere where you know you're gonna play. And it's like you don't know, but at the same time, like it we always talk about what what it is that you want for your career. Yes. And are you willing to wait your turn? Are you willing to get it up out the mud? Like, you know what I mean? Because you could go somewhere else and play immediately. Yes, you know what I mean, but you chose to go to UConn, which ain't nothing wrong with that, because UConn is UConn. But you could have took your ass to UK and and played immediately. That's what I'm saying. And I'm not saying that for Ayana Patterson, I'm just using that as an example. Yeah. Um, so I'm I'm excited to see a lot of these players that didn't get a lot of minutes at previous schools to see what they will be next season.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Also, too, just with you saying that, so like if you're new here or just if you didn't know this, period. We had, I had told we one, me and Courtney got asked a question about when it came to certain players. They asked us as players, does your coach tell you if you're not going to play or not? Do you know that? Do your coach tell you that you're gonna get recruited over? Yes, they do. I can only speak for my my experience and what my coach did. End of the day, like that's a thing to me as a player. Like I said, I can only speak, and I I'm sure this certain things don't change. End of the day, you know who's going to Net Portal or not for the most part. You're not as a teammate, you know who's not gonna be there, more than likely, who the coach, if they rotten the player's ass all year and they tell them they're gonna get recruited over all year, you know for the most part. Okay. Facts that doesn't, you know. I mean, my coach threatened to recruit of me every year. Was that true? No.

SPEAKER_01

I mean I mean, China, like, she has like a whole story. Like, y'all remember China? She came on and did the uh live with us. Um, but you know, uh, like I said, when I got to school, the coach had recruited five freshmen and five junior college players. He had been telling China and the rest of them the whole time, I'm I'm recruiting a whole new team.

SPEAKER_00

Keeping them on their toes.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? Like, he recruited a whole new team, but China was like, oh hell no.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Y'all gonna have to see me.

SPEAKER_00

And so was I.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? Exactly. And that's a boost for me. That's that's the response you should have. You get what I'm saying? Like, so yeah, like, no, they absolutely tell you, or they tell you in the exit interview what it is that you need to work on in order to see the floor. Yeah. Um, and I think that's kind of like a conversation. I feel like, you know, Bella's dad had talked about when he said that we had a meeting and we were talking about playing time and what that's gonna look like moving forward, and what it looked like moving forward was that she wasn't gonna get any clock. So let's go ahead and get in that portal so we can go somewhere we can play.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, or not going to be a priority. End of the day, like, I mean not priority and not play.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that the same?

SPEAKER_00

To me, yeah. Okay. I mean, so kinda, but no. So what it what is a priority mean? Yeah, what is that? Go ahead. Does a priority mean me getting all the shots, me taking 15 shots, me having the green light? Is that your priority as a player, or is your priority or your expectation to me to get my 20 minutes? 20 minutes is still a solid, 20, 25 minutes is still a solid amount of us. Where you gotta be impactful. To me, when I hear priority, like a player like who I was, am I going to be the priority on this team? And what's the offense gonna be ran through? Is the offense gonna be ran through me? It's not okay, well, let me go somewhere else because I I feel like I'm the player where the offense should be, ran through me.

SPEAKER_01

That's a great, that's a great. I didn't I didn't look at it like that, but I can understand that.

SPEAKER_00

But I think that's I mean Or just say like you, you know, you say all the time, like I wasn't like a star player. But if you in your eyes of Courtney being a priority in offense, my prior priority is for me to be the starting point guard. My priority is for me to run the offense, to set my teammates, teammates up for success. My priority is for me to play 30 minutes. The everything a priority to you has to be in those guidelines. You know what I'm saying? So it depends on what your priority means to you. Now, some people, they may not, they may think, they may think that they're a bigger priority than what they should be. Not saying in this case, but a lot of the times it is that. But, you know, like people always been saying the whole time, the grass ain't green on the other side.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean, you know, you always play with them people who, and like I said, I'm not talking about anybody no case, but since we're we we're discussing priority and what that means to each player because it can be different, it can mean different things.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like you got you, we all had a teammate who who wasn't who who they thought they were better than what they were.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We all had that, and it was like somebody has to tell them that. Yeah, it should be the coach. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, what's I guess we can kind of start by the recent ones. The Paul twins, they went ahead and went on back home. Shout out to Valerie Barnes, uh Barnes, shout out to you. Um, she's one of our subscribers. She said that maybe like as soon as they announced, she said that she thought she could see him go back home. Um, Rutgers also got Jayla Lampley, the sister of Lola, who was going to LSU. Uh, so that that's pretty dope. So they they've got some they got some good ones coming in, some pretty solid ones. I I want to see how they build over there.

SPEAKER_01

Same.

SPEAKER_00

Um LSU. They've got who did they get? They got Layla Reynolds. I Layla Reynolds is to me is going, we talk about priority, right? I think that the priorities of that team, to me, Michaela Williams, Lay. If we talk about offense, the priorities to me. I think that if we talk about priorities coming in, Layla Reynolds is a good fit to the priority of that team, if it makes sense. Not somebody who's gonna be coming and expecting a whole lot of touches. You know, she's a role player. Yes, yes, I see that.

SPEAKER_01

She's a role player.

SPEAKER_00

I see that with that one. Um, they're saying Jada Williams is on campus. She's there for a visit this weekend. We hopefully we hear something about that within, probably, could be today, could be tomorrow. Yeah. We'll see how it goes well. Uh let us know y'all's thoughts on that one. Do y'all feel like that? If Jada Williams comes, do y'all feel like that's an update, an upgrade from Jeddah Richard? Let me know what you think. From the truthful. Anybody heard where Liv is going? No. I haven't. We had speculation of what we thought. Yeah. Um, Kamora Johnson was on South Carolina's campus this weekend, too. I don't, I don't see Don letting her get away.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, they they need that.

SPEAKER_00

They need that.

SPEAKER_01

That's the one thing about South Carolina. They're gonna have a good point guard and they usually have a good big.

SPEAKER_00

And they go in after Jordan Lee.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they're going after Jordan Lee, too. And they go in after the day. I like that.

SPEAKER_00

Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

Reload.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, man. That you talk about getting better. That's a get better.

SPEAKER_01

That is a get better.

SPEAKER_00

That's a get better, especially if they get both of those.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Coach Yo's doing her thing.

SPEAKER_01

Coach Yo, shout out to Coach Yo, man.

SPEAKER_00

Coach Yo's doing her thing.

SPEAKER_01

Man, what if I had to pick somebody right now that has announced people that have committed to her program so far, to me, she's winning so far. Yes. You know, now we haven't gotten the rest of the girls. We have speculation on where they will go, but nobody has like said where they're going. So that could change. But right now, to me, I feel like Coach Jill kind of snuck in there. Are some of these people I had no idea that she was already like on the radar with them.

SPEAKER_00

Y'all bear with me, honey, as I pull up the list. Um, let's see, who did she get who did she get committed there so far? It's uh oh, we said we talked about Talasia Cooper.

SPEAKER_01

We talked about Talasia Cooper. Um there were some people in the comments that were saying that Jada was was taking a visit to Ole Miss. Um Jada Richard was taking a visit to Ole Miss. But then there were people in the comments saying Sybil was taking a uh a visit to Ole Miss. So, I mean, you talk about a reload.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Maybe if Ole Miss, oh Ole Miss might f around and be like, we are the SCC.

SPEAKER_01

If you want to leave the SEC team where you can't come over, they are the TCU of the STC.

SPEAKER_00

Facts. Let's see. They got, let me see. I haven't seen. They've got Rachel. I cannot pronounce this girl's last name. They've got her coming in. She says she got a good basketball IQ. Let's see. Nisha Godfrey. Got her coming in. Um, let's see here. Maya Anderson. She's coming in. Let's see. Emily Howard. She's coming in. Y'all like I said, let us know who we miss, y'all. But I I I think that she's not done. Because she's been talking her shit, honey, online. She been talking her shit. She sure has. Also, Coach O? Coach O, but I mean, she did like another one. You know. No, has she? I didn't, I haven't seen any of them. It's like, so like when I was in school, well, we were in school, the thing was when this is like when Twitter first like popped off. So the thing was like you couldn't say who was on campus, but you'd be like, We got a little birdie in the nest that like they would do stuff like that. Yeah, but uh, you know how that go. But uh, yeah. So also, too, real quick, something somebody made a comment because we had talked about the Tennessee girls getting the mid-major players and how we thinking it is going well for them. And I had talked about how they're gonna be proud to be there, and somebody made a comment and they said, Um, good luck with that, essentially. And if they were meant to be P4, you know, whatever, they would have been there in the first place. Not necessarily, and let me tell you why. That's why you see a whole lot of these girls who did go to the big schools, for example, Arkansas, for example, Tennessee. We got a couple of them, you know. They me and Courtney said this before too. They probably couldn't play there to begin with. Someway, somehow, they slid in. A lot of these players are late bloomers, and that's what I like about the transfer portal from a mid-major standpoint. Because, like, for I can talk about myself again. So, for me, going out of high school into Tennessee Tech, I was not a bigger player than what I was. I was a mid-major player. Um, didn't have a left hand, couldn't really shoot a jump shot. By by the time that sophomore year hit, going into junior year, your girl was ready. You know what I'm saying? So it's like a lot of these players are late boomers. And I think that people have to don't really understand that as much. Now, because the the comment was they're bigger, faster, stronger. If you can play, you can play. I don't disagree with that, but that's why we see a lot of these players who are at these bigger schools going to Murray State, going to mid-major schools, because uh they probably they got there and it was a different ball game. Right. And then to the mid-major we go. But I just wanted to point that out. Like, for example, like Zaza, Zaza Walton from George Mason, she's going to West Virginia. West Virginia had a hell of a season last year. She averaged 18 points a game. Now, if you see so a player like her, you asking, how now how they and recruit when mistakes happen. So you ask, how they miss out on on her? Who's that?

SPEAKER_01

But you know what though? A lot of that stuff now, it's like they it's it's it's some of it's based off potential. Yes. You know, they they have somebody that you know they're not as skilled as as this person, but we talk about physicality, height, all that stuff. They see that and think, well, we can make her into this. Yes. Right? Because she has the size and the physicality, even though she's not as good as her over here, but she has the body and what we need, and we can make her that. But sometimes it don't happen that way. Yeah. What you get is what you get, and that potential just doesn't come to fruition. Okay. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

And they said they gotta work a little extra hard in the web rooms.

SPEAKER_01

And the one thing you're gonna get from a mid-major school is that we know how to work hard. That that's you know what I mean? Like, respect the mid-majors used to be in the underdog. I don't really expect anything less, especially from those. The thing about Kim Codwell and the people that she's recruiting, she's recruiting people that fit her system. So I feel like the people that she's recruiting, she's gonna put them in the best possible situation to be successful because they're gonna buy into her system.

SPEAKER_00

And sis got sis got this is pro sis got last chance. This sis is sis is gambling, okay, at this point.

SPEAKER_01

I she is, she is, but like I said, if the ship is sinking, go down swinging and get the people that you know that you can be successful with. Period. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Like talk about expectations.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. You know what I mean? Like you got people that, and that, and we talk about that all the time. A lot of that is just buying into the system, buying into the program, buying into your coach and what they're telling you to do. Yeah. You know what I mean? And if you don't have that, then it's not gonna work. So at least if you go you can get the people that can mentally lock in, because a lot of the stuff is mental into the system, then hey, I think I think you got a chance. So I mean, again, I'm still excited to see what Kim uh does next season for Tennessee, um, especially with all the heat she's getting. So girl, turn it around. Yeah, and turn it around with those mid-major players.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we're we're wishing, we're wishing sis the best. We we really are. I mean, we really are. We're wishing sis the best. We want we want to see you do well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But for the sake of the program, we really have to be.

SPEAKER_01

Same, same. Hey, can you do me a favor, Tekura?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Can you turn your mic up?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Hold on.

SPEAKER_01

Can you turn it up?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, hold on. Let me see. Oh, can you hear me now? Is it better? Yeah, it's better now. Hold on, let me go look somewhere else. Hold on. How about now? That sounds a lot better. A lot better. Okay, I just had it too low. Okay. Alrighty. So, yes, wishing sis the best. We'll see, we'll see how it goes. Um like I said, I'm just kind of skipping around, y'all. Like I said, it's kind of all over the place because you jump back and forth the way this list is set up. Uh, Kelly Smallwood from UAB, that's somebody I watched. She averaged 14 points a game. She's going to Mississippi State. She's a 5'9 guard, a mid-major baby. Come on, man. Come on, mid-majors. We wanna win. We wanna see you win. We wanna see you. We wanna see you. Who?

SPEAKER_01

Carnegie.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Yeah, she another one. Carnegie, she's going to Iowa. Iowa. And that's that's you know, I thought about with Chit Chat. That's gonna be a nice little backcourt. Yeah, it is. That's a shooting backcourt, too. You don't think they're used to shooting like a lot of threes anyway, and having people who can shoot. Um so Danny, and Danny can do both. Danny can go through. Chit Chat could, I mean I know.

SPEAKER_01

We I mean we talked about it, and it's like they needed athletes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They needed athletes um and they needed somebody that could like score.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Just flat out score. Yes. Um, I'm still interested to see what the pitch was. I I want to know what the pitch was to get her to commit to Iowa. Is there a pitch or was there a bag?

SPEAKER_00

I think one, if you talk about what, probably both, but I think about what Iowa think about the culture of what Iowa women's basketball has become since that baller has left. You're gonna come here, the the games is gonna be sold out, you're gonna have a crowd, you got people are gonna know who you are, you're gonna have support.

SPEAKER_01

They respect women's basketball.

SPEAKER_00

Like first you go to Georgia. What do they care about at Georgia? SEC football. They don't even care, they barely care about the men's team over there, the men's basketball team. So, I mean, just be and if we like we talked about too, like we always talk about, whether it depending on you going to mid-major or you going to a school like Georgia until that usually who's not ever gonna win the conference, who hasn't won it in a long time, go to Iowa, who's usually they was a number two seed in the tournament.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Had a good year, you know, went to the finals. Uh, went to the finals, I mean they got blown out, but they went to the finals of the conference of the Big Ten conference. You know, look at that.

SPEAKER_01

Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. Are you with with okay, you got Chit Chat for Iowa. You got Carnegie that just signed to Iowa. Are we still sold on Audi at Notre Dame?

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I was ever sold on anyway. I feel like the comments is sold and like the the media is sold on that. That you add that addition to Iowa. To Iowa, the half-court offense. And and and and Danny, Danny, to me, Danny doesn't have a whole lot of crazy speed. Danny's a slow the game down. You can win that way. But with the rivalry, with that, does she make that move? We don't know. Stay tuned. Um, let's see. Naomi White, she averaged 20 points a game, which I know we just talked about Tennessee from northern Arizona. Um, I think I've watched her like once she's going to Tennessee. End of the day, you gotta give 20 points a shot, 20 points a game. 5'9 is a nice size for a guard. Go ahead and give her a shot. Go ahead and give her a shot. Um, who else, honey? Who else have we missed? I'm trying to go through here, you also bear with me, honey, because it's literally so many. We're going through a list of 1,500 people. So, child. Who are we waiting on? We're waiting on Audi.

SPEAKER_01

We're waiting on Liv. Waiting on Liv, waiting on, I mean, waiting on a lot of people. I mean, even though we said Kamura is on a visit with South Carolina, she hasn't announced, Jordan Lee hasn't announced, Justice Carlton hasn't announced.

SPEAKER_00

I hear Joyston, Justice Carlton. Could we get, she from California, right? Could we get a UCLA? Is she from California?

SPEAKER_01

She could fit UCLA system. Or you think Juju will slide in there and be like, hey, ooh, get on the phone. Get on the phone, Juju.

SPEAKER_00

Get on the phone, you know. Get on the phone, sis. Because you know, they have the that's just like with South Carolina. Like, you know how they they paying attention to people's likes and stuff like that. Right, right. They paid attention to South Carolina. Everybody following this person. Everybody went to follow them.

SPEAKER_01

That's because they done told them, hey, you need to follow them right now. Because we need them. Everybody follow them. Now, let me see. Okay. Oh, and they give you that pep talk. They do. They'd be like, listen.

SPEAKER_00

We got such a such thing. My fault, Jessis Carlton's from Texas. I'm tripping. Oh, she's from Texas. Jordan Lee, I think,'s from California. My fault. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

But go ahead, what were you saying? Oh, no, girl wouldn't say nothing.

SPEAKER_00

We were talking about how the talk that they give you when they get in the city. Oh, the talk that they get. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

When you got a big recruit coming, yes. Like you, you do, you do it all.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, it's a we really want this girl. We really want this kid. Takar you the host. See, just see where she show her a good time.

SPEAKER_01

Just don't get in trouble. Don't get in, don't get in trouble. That was our code. She's like, listen, just don't get in trouble. And if you get in trouble, call me.

SPEAKER_00

Make sure she can make her meetings tomorrow. Right. You know, but you gotta fill the recruits out too, because some of them you gotta you don't know. That's true. That's true. Yeah, you gotta fill them out because some of them ain't what they do. Uh let's see here. We're still going through them, y'all. Anybody? Let me go on the IG page and kind of see. A couple of these recruits, like the Pado twins, we actually heard about that yesterday. But we waited to make sure it's too confirmed. We heard from a source that it was true, but we waited to see. Um let's see here. I'm really enjoying the WNBA free agency. I can't wait to talk about that. Oh, uh, let's see. Rashonda Jones from Michigan State. She's going to Arizona State. Uh, I didn't even I didn't even know she was in a portal. It's it's literally something.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's it's it's a lot. I honestly, y'all, like, we talked about this, how we just kind of grew like very fast. And listen, next season we're gonna be more prepared.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. It's like, oh, it just hitting us from the left. Maya Anderson, the one to go in the O'Meal. She's from uh I mean, she's from San Jose State. So that's good. Uh oh, here's a good one. Gianna Corbett from Chattanooga, a mid-major, she's good. She's pretty, she's pretty good. She's going to Miami. She averaged 50 points. She's 6'1. 6'1. Like, 6'1 guard. And that's the thing. A 6'1 guard, how does she get it? But you know what though?

SPEAKER_01

I think that's that's like I feel like we talked about this, and I think who talked about it? Was it uh Maggie Dugan who talked about it? Yeah. How um that mid-majors are just are more than just a uh stepping stone to get, you know what I mean? Because, you know, we talk about Brooklyn Meyer, we talk about Maggie Dugan. They could have definitely been in the transfer portal and on to somewhere else. Yeah. But at the same time, with the way recruiting is, a lot of these girls aren't getting recruited out of high school, especially if you're not like some four, five-star, like, you know what I mean? A lot of a lot of coaches are recruiting out of the portal. Yeah. You know? So will some of these girls that have the talent that probably could have gone to P4 but just didn't have that backing, you know, they got a scholarship to go to Chattanooga. They got a scholarship to go to George Mason, you know. And then they put on, and because coaches are recruiting out the portal, here we are. Yeah. You get what I'm saying? It's almost like the new high school in a sense.

SPEAKER_00

Like something else, too. When we talk about some of these players who average two and three points who don't go to the bigger schools, let's talk about package deals. Because some of these players really can, if she comes with me, she gonna make me feel more comfortable, or I really want to play with her. That can happen too. Even though we know she ain't gonna play. If they go, they'll take coaches a take a player to get somebody else all the time. Oh, yeah. All the time. Um Ellie Bruegeman from uh Lindenwood, she's in the OBC. She's going to Oklahoma State. She's a shooter. She she's pretty solid. Oh, that's what's up. She's 5'11. She's pretty solid too. I've watched her a couple times. Um, let's see here. Y'all let us know. Alexis Bordes, I watched her too from Duquesne. She's she's 15 points a game. She was a freshman. She's she was pretty solid. Um, they had, I don't think they've announced where she's going at yet, but she wasn't bad either.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. And you got to think about it. What didn't Anisa Morrow go to Duquesne? She went to uh DePaul. DePaul, you know what I mean? But she's like a mid-major player that like how? Under well, her undersized. She was undersized. She was undersized. But hey, she made a shake. She made something shake. Exactly. But I'm talking about her name is stamped in LSU, like women's basketball rare. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I'm talking about coming out of high school, they probably like, like I said again, it was I mean, but you're only about five, you know, you're not really. Can you really do that in the SEC? You know what I'm saying? But with her, it's like a she, if we if I had to say of why that girl wasn't at the next undersized, she just went and bald and showed out and then, okay, that's a stud. Bring her over here. Exactly. Um that for the most like I said, y'all let us know in the comments the ones that we may have missed. Y'all, like I said, it's been, we've been fighting for our lives, honey. Trying to. We've been fighting for our lives for sure. And and we're not done. Um, TCU, they've got some, they've got some good ones. Avery Helmstead from Utah. I watched Utah a couple times. I don't she's 6'1 freshman. She averaged five points again. I don't really remember her. Um, I don't really remember her. I want to say TCU got somebody. Oh, Laney Grant. Lane Grant from uh North Carolina. She's going to TCU. Oh, yes, I did see that. She's a uh she's a good one. I did see that. She's a good one. She's going to TCU.

SPEAKER_01

Um North Carolina just got a good pickup too, didn't they? They got uh ACOT from Oklahoma State.

SPEAKER_00

They got her. Yeah. Laura from Stanford. She got Laura from Stanford, she's going to TC, TCU. Uh yes, a four-player, power forward. Yeah, so it's a couple big ones that we just waiting on for real, for real. Um, like I said, honey, y'all let us know. I wonder who's gonna get Skylar Ford from Marquette. I like her. She's a good one. She she should be able to land somewhere pretty good. Like I said, y'all let us know what we miss. Like I said, we're doing the best of it.

SPEAKER_01

I thought I I'm interested to see where Zam is going too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they okay. There we go. So Zam, they said that she had visit to Louisville, she would be good. I think she would be good. She's a Louville player. She's a she's a good Louisville player. She would be good. I think so too. Um who else they say that visits?

SPEAKER_01

Who else they got? I think Prawl, did she go on one to she with the one? She would be good too. She would be good at Louisville, yep. She would be a good one too. Um and I think Jeff Walls is such a good coach. I think. Like, I love that. I love that combination. I'm not mad at it.

SPEAKER_00

I want Jeff to turn the corner. Jeff's got what, two final fours? Maybe. I want to see Jeff. I want to see Jeff turn the corner to get over the hump. I feel like he's been in like in a hump of sweet 16, Elite Eight. Like, I want to see him turn that corner. Because I mean, that's a great program.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm still trying to look through. Let's see. Iowa State got somebody, honey. Maya Babbitt from Kent State. A mid-major. Like I said, Iowa State, buddy, it's a hot spot.

SPEAKER_01

Iowa State, Tennessee. And you know, and you know what else I thought about too?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of that, it's like, you think about it. Like, I remember that post we saw. Um, she was singing that, uh, the coach was singing that Whitney Houston song. Um, you know what I mean? They was wanting like 300.

SPEAKER_00

Laugh choo choo. Because they was averaging two points more than 300,000. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It makes me think. It makes me think, like, are like, are some of these mid-major players like asking for the same amount of money?

SPEAKER_00

From what I'm hearing, from what I'm hearing, yeah. They are, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Because I'm like Well, because if you're averaging, so my thing is like, if you're averaging two points asking for 300K, and then I got a mid-major over here that's averaging 20 asking for 300K, it I for me personally, I'm gonna be like, you know what? I'm gonna, I'm if I'm if I'm gonna pay 300K, I'm gonna go with the proof of people, somebody that's already done it. You get what I'm saying? You're already averaging 20. If I get you to my conference, I'll take I'll take 10 from you if it ain't 20.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we just got a new one. Pit transfer, Michaela Johnson is has committed to UCF. Oh, that's the guy.

SPEAKER_01

Ain't that the guy that just went up there? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah, that's Gabe. Um, but the uh Emily Howard, the girl going to O Miss, she has 6'5 centers, so she's 6'5 post from Mountain from the Mountain West concert from Boise State. That's the one that I mentioned earlier. Um, hold on, hold on where's she going? Oh miss. Oh, miss.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I thought you were talking about. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

So right now, if we talk about today, Ole Miss is in the lead.

SPEAKER_01

Ole Miss is in the lead.

SPEAKER_00

Oh Miss is in the done.

SPEAKER_01

And they're not done. They're in the lead. Shout out to Coach Yo. I don't know what you I don't know what you're saying to them girls.

SPEAKER_00

They got scores. I mean, they get let's see. Let's see if it converts. I mean, I I trust the coach. That's what it's all about. I I'm trusting the coaches. Um but for right now, y'all, like I said, we are having a WNBA draft watch party tomorrow. I'll make sure that you guys go set your notifications on for that. We will be recording the WNBA free agency. Well, because that's that's another thing too. So, like people say they want us to do a mock draft. It's hard to do a mock draft if we talk about needs like with free agency going on. Because it's like we don't know. You it's hard to say who needs what when like, for example, we already talked about Angel Reese being an addition to Britney Grindner. Brittany Griner up out of there. You know, so it's like it's hard to it changes, it's changing. So it's kind of hard to do that. I do like Skylar in Chicago though. Yes. We'll talk about that on the W. Oh, we're gonna talk about that later. We'll talk about that later. Y'all, y'all be tuned for the next episode. Yeah, we'll talk about it for the next episode. But uh for now, uh, Tennessee Tech, I'm not gonna, I I have my own personal things. Uh because I was we we got a couple. But I'm uh anyway. Uh y'all have a good one. Y'all have a good one. We'll see you guys in the next episode. Like I said, make sure you go hit subscribe. Go shop the merch, go hit you some merch. Y'all have a good one. Bye guys.
