SPEAKER_01

What then championship bro?

SPEAKER_00

Championship bro.

SPEAKER_01

Championship first off.

SPEAKER_00

You'll have to take the lead on this because I've got the limited knowledge.

SPEAKER_01

I do keep checking it every now and again, but well so commentary are pretty much Premier League now. I was thinking that they need 11 points, that's it.

SPEAKER_00

I was thinking with what is that that's that's to go all to get promoted. Yeah um I was thinking they'd dead if they didn't drop that because they were like 14 points ahead of something stupid one point.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they had a bad period just after Christmas.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so if they didn't December and January if they didn't drop them points, they'd practically they'd be promoted.

SPEAKER_01

They'd probably win champions, yeah, yeah. Mad how it's like gone from because they just flew away, didn't they? But I think Lampard's gotten back on track now. They're they're they're out of it. Then you've got Middlesbrough who are second with 71, Ipswich 69, with a game in hand, Millwall 69, uh Hull 66, Southampton in sixth place with 63, so there's three points between sixth and third. Then you have Wrexham who are also on 63, Derby who are three points behind on sixty.

SPEAKER_00

But I think Derby's I think they're going too far, don't I? I don't know, you know. For playoffs, are you talking what you're talking about for we're talking automatic promotion here? No, no, I'm talking about playoffs for.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well, do you want to do wanna right let's start so automatic promotion?

SPEAKER_00

Automatic automatic, I'm saying Cov. So I think it's too far now, and then Ipswitch. You still think Ipswitch? I still think it's switch.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, you know, bro. I think it's I don't know. They ain't considering everyone had them as like champions before the fucking season. I know, yeah, but it's it's a tough league, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

And I've I've spoken to people have said that they're just not when they play Cov, they're just you just have that even though Cov are top, they just said there's just leagues levels above them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because they've just come down the uh Premier League anything. But it's not exactly how they've got the whole team. But if you look at their last five games, I've got a mayor, so they scraped a one-nil win at home to Hull, who are in the top six. Yeah, but you drew Are you scraping a win against other they let in a last minute goal against Stoke, which cost them three points. They beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, but everyone's beating each other Wednesday. So who do you think the stuff? And then they drew with Millwall.

SPEAKER_00

So who do you but yeah, Millwall and so you they scraped a win against the team that are fourth, and then they they drew with the team that have they drew with a team that's fifteenth.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. They lost points to the game.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you but I don't think, like you say, Hull are in and around it, you said that yourself. And then Millwall. Millwall are the ones that could get automatic promotion.

SPEAKER_01

I think Millwall will get second order. Yeah, yeah, really do.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't mind I'd love Millwall in the Premier League.

SPEAKER_01

Never been in.

SPEAKER_00

All at Bristol City when they were last year.

SPEAKER_01

Was that in the 90s? Nah, nah, nah, nah. There was in the playoffs. Um no no no no. Oh, I thought you meant going up. This I'm on about the last time they were in the playoffs, Barnes were doing it about um five seasons ago, six seasons ago, but then they just dropped off. But yeah, you normally get that like one team that sneaks into the playoffs that didn't mean to be there. Bristol City last year, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They're still not they're still in around playoffs, don't they?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think they're no, I think they lost to Sunderland. They they got not Sunderland, yeah, in the playoffs. No, I'm on about this season. Who? Bristol City. Bristol, oh mate, they're well off it. They were up there, they were up there. I think they're like 16th now. Oh, okay. Yeah, they're well off it. But yeah, I think I think for me, Coventry and Millbour. I really do, and it'd be funny if West Ham go down as well because all these years it's just been West Ham and then Millbour, then it'll be Millbour. West Ham. How funny, what a turn uh turn of events. But yeah, I think them and them.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I honestly don't think either I think Ipswich, if they go up, sort of Kieran McKenna's still there, he's sort of got an idea of what it might take if he could potentially. I know it's a big ask if he could though, he sort of he did I obviously Ipswich were miles off it, but I don't think they were a bad team. I think they were very unfortunate. Well, the Premier League, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They lapped was getting him a few goals as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, very unfortunate. So I think you know, if with the right investments like Sundon have done, then you can't say, Well, I'm not gonna be able to do that they spent money though, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I don't see spent money last when they went.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know, yeah, I know. Um I don't see yeah, but they didn't spend money well.

SPEAKER_01

I mean they I think they did because when they got Liam Delapin, Calvin Phillips, they got him on loan. Okay, sorry. They got um they got they've done good business, they got Liam De Lapin for 15 million with a relegation clause of 30. So no matter what, they were going to double the money if they were to get out. So they were doing the right sort of business, they were getting in decent players.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, fair enough. We just didn't work, but uh I think they were very unfortunate. They drew a lot of games, didn't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did, yeah, they were drawing merchants, man, at one stage, they were drawing a lot.

SPEAKER_00

But I what I'm saying is so potentially if they go up, but I don't think Millwall will stay up, and I don't think Covid's stay up. But I say this, I've had Sundance to finish rot bottom. What a what a turn of well they say that they did really well. I mean, they've not really doing as well at the minute, are they? No, they started off really good, they were like six foot one players. Other than the win against Newcastle recently, which Newcastle are a bit hit and missed this season, apart from being at home as well. Yeah, so since Christmas, they've only won against teams in and around the relegations, they've drawn a lot of games, they'd be like Leeds, Burnley, do you know what I mean? So they've dropped off massively, they're safe anyway, so it don't matter.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So so for you then it's Coventry, Ipswich, first and second. For me, it's Coventry, Millwall. Now, who would you think is uh gonna be in the playoffs? So for you it would be between Middlesbrough, Millwall Hall, Southampton, Brexham, Derby, and I'm gonna throw in Watford, even though they're on 56 points, they've found a lot of form recently. I'd say Norwich and Birmingham are out of the equation now. There's no, I mean, you'd have to win a lot of games and have results go your way, but the teams that are in the top six are it did, yeah, it did. But I think teams like Southampton Hall, Millwall and Winchwich, they're holding their own man, Met Wexham as well, they're winning a lot of games. Derby always keeps sneaking a win. So I've I'd I'd I'd go as far as up to ninth with Watford. So what would you say top top this is where topics?

SPEAKER_00

This is where I'm not gonna sit here and be like I like I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I think Well, who would you like out of them teams then? Well because there's obviously teams that you like. I've got a soft heart for some teams, and there's teams like Stokes City that I absolutely hate for no reason.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think there's a team in the Premier League that I've got a soft spot for. Really?

SPEAKER_01

I like Notts County in the I like Notts, can't I?

SPEAKER_00

Um atta it's mad, right? But I'll go Southampton.

SPEAKER_01

To win it all?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, only because I remember years and years and years ago when um you know when these dodgy sites you can get football shirts from.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Was it Letitia one?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, I don't know. It was like a it was like a relatively new one. It was like they had under underarmour and it came and it was all wonky on the piss, but I don't know why I just chose Southampton. I've no idea.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like when you play a FIFA and you just like you think, oh okay. Randomise it. Yeah, I think they'll kick about and you go to a South Storm.

SPEAKER_00

I think that was what it was, it was the first, you know, it was the first one, and I was just like, mmm. So I don't as it was obviously Snide, so Yeah. So I always buy my Spurshirts proper.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't buy a Snide one.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't think you will either, to be fair, you do spend a lot of money on. But anyway, so we're drifting here. So you've gone with Southampton to win the playoffs.

SPEAKER_00

If I could choose a team that I'd want to go up out of the championship, yeah, it'd be um one up Wrexham. No, I'm not about the whole championship here. Oh okay. If I could pick a team now to go it to no, it'd be West Brom. No West Brom. Yeah. West Brom for my grandad. My granddad's a West Brom fan.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you've mentioned a few times. I never would have guessed.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah, so I'd yeah, I'll do that for my grandfather.

SPEAKER_01

I'm joking, I'm joking. But um alright, and so you'd have West Brom.

SPEAKER_00

Just because your grandma's a villa fan, mate.

SPEAKER_01

I know, yeah, it's a fucking tragic, ain't it? It's it's one of them. Um but yeah, so you've gone Southampton. I think with their run of form as well, they've only lost once this year to Hull uh away at home. I think it was 2-1 or something, or 1-0, I can't really remember the score. Just about if I but yeah, they're they're trajectory. I think they're the most informed team anyway in the Championship.

SPEAKER_00

I'll probably go if other them, I'd probably go Wrexham purely because they haven't. Do you want Wrexham in the Premier League? But they're only because they haven't been there, it's not as they've not been there.

SPEAKER_01

It's the okay, this Hollywood fairy tale thing, it's been good as it's gone. They've gone back to back to back to back so far, it's never been done. Right? Imagine they go back to back to back to back to back and they're in the Premier League. Okay, it's not fairly. Bro, the trajectory on that is wild.

SPEAKER_00

You don't know though. I do, they ain't gonna win the fucking Premier League.

SPEAKER_01

Has there ever been a time in League One where a team has come up and won it? From from your memory? Well, the Premier League, League One, Premier League. There's no team that's gonna be. Has that ever happened, yeah? Can you I think Cluffy did it with Derby. With Derby. Come up and won it.

SPEAKER_00

Come up from Division 2.

SPEAKER_01

Would that have been the last one of your to your knowledge?

SPEAKER_00

I've I might more than likely. I don't know, but I'm sure I'm sure Cluffy did it, and I think he might have done it with Nottingham Forest as well.

SPEAKER_01

So what that would have been around the 60s, 70s, 70s. Late 60s, late early 70s.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he got obviously got he won the European European Cup win 77, didn't he? The first one. 77 and 78, they're the two years they were. Was it 78 and 79? No, but what I mean is because obviously he got into the Champions League through winning, so that's what you know, but the year he did. Yeah. Because that back in them days, you got in the Champions League European Cup. European Cup, yeah. By winning the league, that was it. There was no top four finish, so that's how you'd work out. Oh, okay. There would have 100% been more times where teams have gone up and but even so, like that's a fucking stretch.

SPEAKER_01

It's unheard of. In Premier League history, anyway, then it's never happened. Imagine Phil Parkinson getting promoted and winning the Premier League, yeah, and Arsenal coming second again. Scums.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, I'm not I'm I'm but it's just yeah, it's the same as if Bristol City were in there, it'd be nice because Bristol City never been in there. I'm saying Millwall really, so a London club.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for you it wouldn't be Mill War. Uh Hull are just a fucking boring team for me. Middlesbrough again, another boring team, can't be arse of them. Derby.

SPEAKER_00

I'd like to see Derby back in there, only to see if they can beat their uh just quickly, I seen them I seen them a meme that made me laugh, and it was only fools and horses, you know, when he goes to Hull. And they go and he goes, Where are we? He goes, Hull, and he goes Hull like that. Yeah, ow. And it said it's Tottenham fans next season.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no. Lincoln as well. Lincoln away. I seen someone put in their Google Maps Lincoln Lincoln Away and said someone reports saying, At least it's a straight road just north. You haven't got to go anywhere, it's literally just straight up the M1, yeah. Fun times, man, fun times so you've gone with uh Southampton, yeah. I think I'll go with uh Ipswich, because I don't think they'll be in the top two, so I think Ipswich Commentary, Millwall, and Ipswich for promotion and you've gone Commentary, Ipswich, Southampton, or Wrexham. Sound
