Hello, and welcome back to another little episode of DDI Dance Diaries. So today I wanted to jump on and have a chat about something that is going to be a huge part of this year at DDI, and that is our 10-year anniversary show. I'm actually so excited. It feels crazy to even say out loud, to be honest. 10 years of DDI, like 10 years of dancers coming through the doors, making friends, confidence growing, families becoming a part of the family. Like there's just so many amazing things and memories along the way. And this show is really just going to be a huge celebration of all of that put together. So I know that show time is one of those things that comes with lots of excitement, but also a lot of questions from parents. How does it work? How long will they be there? What do we need to pay? What costumes do they need? So I thought we could have a little chat through everything today, and then you will all receive a little show pack in your emails by the end of the week. Alright, so the show day for the majority of our dancers, show day is going to be an all-day DDI experience. Like all day. So from the mint from the morning right through until after the show in the evening. Okay, so because obviously we are up in Glasgow at the Armadillo, which is just so crazy. Um we're gonna make it an all-day experience for the kids, okay? So the kids will be with us most of the day, we're gonna have rehearsals, and then obviously they can get ready, do some more hair and makeup, all of that stuff. Batch backstage excitement, and of course, then the actual show. So it's a long day for our team as well, but it's genuinely one of our favourite days because there's honestly nothing quite like seeing everything come together. The buzz backstage is always amazing, but uh I genuinely believe that this year is gonna be like and a whole new level, okay? So the show fee this year is going to be £45 per dancer. Now, that again is basically because we are gonna have your dancers for the full day, and then obviously we're in Glasgow, we're at a bigger venue, and with that becomes comes bigger costs, as we know. So, that is gonna help us cover everything that is involved with having your children with us for the whole day, and to make sure that the whole experience runs safely, smoothly, and yeah, it's just gonna be incredible. The your child will also get a beautiful medal for taking part, and yeah, there's gonna be lots of little hidden surprises for the kids through the throughout the day because we want to make it something that they remember like from the minute they were dropped off in the morning right through until the evening. Um, so we've got lots of like surprise visits coming and all of that, so it's just really really exciting. Um, our tine's are gonna be slightly different, so we don't need them for the whole day, um, because we know that show day is a lot, but when you've got little legs, it's even it's even more, so yeah, we're not gonna have them for the entire day, they'll only be required for half of the day, um, and we will give you all specific timings and information in your pack that you will receive at the end of the week. Excuse me, so costumes. We obviously we we pride ourselves on the incredible costumes that we manage to source to get the kids onto the stage, and we to make it as simple and affordable as possible, we always hire our costumes, okay? So rather than parents having to go out and find them, buy lots of bits that potentially will never get worn again, we always hire out our costumes. So this year it's going to be £12 per costume. So if your child is in three dances, it will be £36. You know what I'm saying? So £12 per costume per class. The comp kids have already paid their comp high, like their comp costume higher, so you do not need to pay that, it's just our recreational classes that will pay the additional costume higher. Um, and yeah, that we actually really love the fact that we're able to do it this way because it shows show costumes can add up so quickly. And I know from speaking to lots of different dance business owners, and like loads of different schools do it differently, and for me, I just feel like this is the best way, and it is just keeps the costs down, and it means that we are not like we don't need to find somewhere to put all these costumes at the end of the show. Do you know what I mean? We can just give them back. So really excited for that because Ashley and I are going to go and view the costumes next week. Um, now that we have made our run in order, which is so exciting, and Miss Jodie is she's on it, she's gonna create a big narration so that the show has a story because we love a theme, as you know. So, yeah, we're just honestly so excited for you guys to see this. It's it's gonna be incredible. Um, okay, next part is we need you, okay? So, this is where you guys come in. We are looking for some volunteers. So, putting on a show of this size takes a village. Now, we'll need some amazing parents helping behind the scenes, helping us with things like looking after groups of kids, costumes, like just keeping everyone where they need to be, and just helping us run the day as smoothly as possible. Now, you do not need to be a dance expert, you just if you can help a group of excited dancers stay together and aren't scared of a little bit of backstage chaos, then we need you. So we will share more information about volunteering and exactly what we need. But if you would like to be a part of our day with us, please let the team know. Drop us a wee email, Hayley can write down your note of interest, and that would just honestly be so great. Um, we've obviously got a very large team of coaches now, which is incredible, but we do need a little bit extra hands with just the fact that we are going all the way to Glasgow and we've got lots of kids now, so yeah. But this is honestly going to be so much more than just a show. Like, I just want to finish off this week's podcast episode by saying that this isn't just gonna be another DDI show, like, this is not going to be like any of the rest of them. This is 10 years, right? So there are children in our school right now who weren't even born when DDI began, and like these kids are like there's people with us that have started since they were tiny, and they've grown up inside our school, and they're just now incredible little athletes. We have got coaches who were once dancers themselves, the friendships, the families, the memories, the stories-like all of these things that have been created because of this little dance school that has honestly just been such an incredible decade, and when I honestly think about it like that, it just makes me so emotional, and I just cannot wait to see it all come together. Because honestly, like I want our dancers to remember how they felt standing on that stage, and I want our families sitting in the audience to feel so ridiculously proud of choosing DDI because honestly, like, look what we've built. Like, I hope our team look around and and on the day just be they're like, Wow, I'm so proud to be a part of this. DDI has never just been about teaching children how to dance, it's about the confidence that we help build, it's about the belonging, it's about the friendships, it's about giving children somewhere that they can feel completely themselves. And this show is going to celebrate every single bit of that. So, DDI family, it's time we have got to get ready. There will be lots more information coming your way over the next few days, but for now, I just want you to guys to get excited because after 10 incredible years of dreaming big, we are going to the armadilla. I'm actually so buzzing, and I hope that you can tell how excited I am. It is time to celebrate a decade of DDI. So, I will speak to you guys all soon. Happy Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Speak to you later.
