And we are gonna go into our live reaction of episodes 1157 and 1158 of One Piece, the most recent anime episodes. And we're gonna wrap up today's episode with Amaga's chapter review, chapter 1180. I'm just ready to get into this anime, but yeah, we got some we got a few things to talk about anime world news, so let's dive straight into that.

I got some good stuff to talk about. It's it's nothing uh too crazy, but got some good stuff to talk about. Alright, first things first, Tagorobati, the hit manga, has been begun rolling out teaser advertisements across Japan. The billboards feature artwork alongside the date 427 and a message from a message from Japan. A new era is about to be carved open. The hype is real. The hype is real around Kagorobashi. I'm excited for it.

For sure. I haven't tapped anywhere yet. Uh the hype is real, and the disrespect is crazier. They are going so hard about this anime. They is dogging one piece out. Like, yeah, this is they really believe this is the new era. You know, standing on all ten toes. The fans are going absolutely insane with the slander and the comic sections, which you know I support, but come on. We're not dethroned in one piece. We're like, come on. Yeah. Let's be good guys.

Like I said, I I've always I've read the first like 25 chapters of Kagurabachi, and then I kind of started wearing off from it. But honestly, I do expect it to when it's animated, if it's done right, I do expect it to have the same type of effect as a Jujutsu Kaisen. I I I really compared the two. Um, Kagurobachi has that dark feel to it. It's the techniques seem pretty unique and pretty uh pretty cool. And then it definitely has that aspect of just boxing to it. And I think all of the I've seen some comparisons to, well, not comparisons to solo leveling, but people already talking about it, rivaling solo leveling. And yeah, I just expect it to have like those type of impacts when it first is released because from what I read and the hype I've continued to see throughout, you know, the chapters being released with the manga, it's pretty live. It's pretty live, so I'm excited for it. It's on uh shunner jump, right? It's on shunner jump, yeah.

Yeah, I I really think you'll like it. I think it's gonna be a hit. Um I'm not really I'm not fully caught up, obviously, so I can't really be in no argument of where what it's really gonna compete with in terms of numbers, but I do expect it to do well once it's animated.

It was a completely different vibe to how people view anime. I like that it's becoming more mainstream because more people is comfortable to it, but I still I still miss like the the special niche of real fans. Now I feel like it's a lot of a lot of fake fans that just Oh boy is it.

Um I hope this all this funding just doesn't uh oversaturate the the genre.

And I feel like as long as it continues to do that, it's gonna be hard for it to get oversaturated. Um I just hope it continues to increase the variety of good quality shows instead of like we get a lot instead of some shows missing so much, especially highly anticipated shows mangas, there's been a lot that just don't hit and miss, and people just fall off and stop stop watching and talking about. So hopefully there's more just overall quality throughout. I mean, we get a lot of good quality shows now not complaining, but if they're trying to in what seven years they're trying to target $37 billion annually, like you imagine they have to be putting out some crazy stuff, so definitely but it also, I mean, it does just say like the overseas market in general, so it could also be, you know, merch, all the other stuff that come come with you know the anime. But blockbuster productions, I mean we're seeing a lot of a lot of anime trying to go the movie route, so it makes sense. Yeah, usually it takes a lot of money to make those good quality movies.

Alright. Ben Beckman's new voice actor is Steen Itiro Miki, the same legendary voice behind Kisuki Urahara from Bleach. The smooth, calm, and dangerous tone fits Beckman's aura perfectly, which is why so many fans made the connection instantly. I'm not gonna lie, I love it. I love it. Yeah, I can't lie, that's that's tough. I can't lie. Keithke is one of the most like charismic, nonchalant type vibes, but he he's he's him. He's very smart, he's strong. If you know Bleach, you know, you know, you know how good Keiskey is in that aspect. And it does fit Ben Beckman's vibe from what we've got so far. So you know, he he seems very, very laid back. His whole crew kind of seems very laid back and chill. And they know they like that. But Stanks right hand, man. I I think that's a good that's a good voice actor. It fits his character. I like it. Definitely. Um you need to catch up. We we got some, I think we got some bleach news later. Yeah, we do have some bleach news later, but I've been watching, I've been watching. Okay, okay. We'll talk. We'll I got a little bit more to say when we when we talk about that, but bleach.

The third world war.

In one scene, a straw hat Jolly Roger appears in the background for just a moment. I seen um screenshots. I have not started The Boys, I will be watching it this week. Well, not just the final season. I haven't started the final season yet. I'll be watching it this week. But I seen a screenshot of um the straw hat Jolly Roger in the background, and then it also looked like a Kuma paw print in another frame. But so is it is it like same universe type thing they're going for? Same universe as One Piece? Yeah, I guess I'm saying like I think it's just like a shout out to the to the show type thing. Uh it would have it when did uh the new season come out? But like the boy, the boys almost like it technically takes place on Earth, so it could just be like one piece is a thing, like people are fans of one piece. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, okay. I thought you meant like same world, the boys is not not like that, but like our world and like Okay, yeah. Um, what what were you saying though?

It's pretty good. It has The Voice is one of those those shows, for me, I feel like it just has everything. Like it has everything in terms of what you look for in the show. Like it got great action, funny comedic moments, some like actual like romance bonds and stuff. Uh intense, like, not I won't say like scary moments, but like intense moments. It's a it's a pretty complete show, I'll I'll say. I'll say, and it has some some weird moments, some real weird moments too. They don't shy away from that.

It was my autocorrect, it changed it, but MAPA, CEO, confirmed that since the studio 100% funded Chainsaw Man, all profits are being reinvested directly into the company. The capital is being used to improve the production environment, settle rights management, and nurture the next generation or animators of animators through internal training. I think that's pretty fire. Um, we've we've known MAPPA to be a powerhouse for some time now. You know, they they've made their mark with a lot of good animation, uh animated shows and stuff so far. So, and we know Chainsaw Man is a is a bigger one that they've produced. So seeing that they funded it 100%, it it honestly surprised me because Chainsaw Man was hyped before it was even animated too. So seeing that they 100% funded it did catch me off guard, but they're putting it back into the studio, so we can only expect peak.

Just like touch up on we don't have to review it the same way we do the One Piece chapters, but you know, just touch up and if we're what reading the Black Clover manga, see what it's like, and then once the anime starts coming out, see see how it's tying in and how it flows together. Because I'm pretty sure the manga in the anime is gonna be like pretty neck and neck in terms of releasing, so we'll be able to kind of experience differently than how we're doing One Piece, you know. The stuff we're getting now in the manga for One Piece, we're not gonna see probably till 2027, 2028, maybe animated. But um, yeah, I'm definitely excited for Black Clover. Left off in a really uh Yeah, we did peak moment. So, and it's been years. I really don't even know how many years exactly off the top of my head since he's been for Black Clover. But damn, I miss it. I honestly may have to rewatch when it comes to. I started the rewatch when you start first started Black Clover, and then I just died off because I was still in like the very beginning stages of my One Piece rewatch. I'm actually I'm in Wano.

Alright, last but not least for our anime world news segment. Bleach, Thousand Year Blood War, the Calamity is hitting U.S. theaters on June 25th, 2026, for its final part theatrical release. Now, I know you're not caught up on Bleach. Hopefully, you get caught up soon. Thousand Year Blood War is going crazy. I just I rewatched everything within the past few weeks. I don't know why. I was just with it coming out this year. I got excited. I was like, let me just rewatch Thousand Year Blood War. And then how much is out of that? I didn't say too much because like I really want it to be a fresh experience for you. Some of these fights that we got set up, I'm excited for it, man. I'm really, I'm really interested to see how the hell they're gonna beat you. I think that's how you how you say it. And but if you know, you know, I'm not gonna get too much into it because Ja, I really need you to tap in and catch up because it made me, bro, I was rewatching these Thousand Year Blood War, and I was pausing it and going on YouTube and pulling up different moments from like original bleach, just because it sparked memories in my head, and I do I was just like, like, it's just fire. And I feel like bleach as of late, since new gen's been coming out and stuff, like sometimes it flies a little bit under the radar on respect. People still talk about bleach, don't get me wrong. Thousand year blower is doing his thing, but like I just feel like you just it flies a little bit under the radar, like I said.

I'm gonna I'm definitely gonna be in the theaters June 25th. That's that's someone's birthday. I may go in celebration of whoever birthday that is. You sick and said just just to do it. Apparently, in the manga, there's a weird scene that's supposed to be coming up next season.

And it's is there's a scene in the purge where like people are helping each other, like they're jumping someone together, they knock them off, and instantly turn on each other. And um, so yeah, I'm definitely uh I think that is what boosted that episode for me, but pretty much the same, like still early early in the arc, so we're not getting too much of like the nitty-gritty, and we're a little bit spoiled. We kind of know what's to come, so like once it turns up, it doesn't turn down. Um, which that'll be coming soon. We'll be getting some good episodes soon, especially because they have to wrap things up by a certain point since they're doing things in parts now instead of just releasing episodes. So overall, it was good, like you said, one-to-one. Um there are some of these scenes I agree with you that I just don't remember. This reader request says is by Honey Liquor, and it says Vegapunk modifying Zeus to ring candy instead of water. Um, do you have any initial thoughts looking at this uh uh cover cover art?

Like, but um, because in my head, I'm like, how would Zeus not doubting that that Vegapunk would be able to modify Zeus in any way, shape, or form, but like instead of that, I know this is a fun way to portray it, but like I'm in my head, I'm like, if we are gonna modify Zeus, I need him getting stronger, which Zeus is already pretty strong and gives Nami such a big buff. But it's just like, come on, Vegapuck. I need you. It's final, it's final saga time. I need you, like, if you won't you're gonna modify Zeus, make him better, not rain candy.

Well, let's get right into the chapter. Um, if y'all are new to this, uh, I just go and read the full a full summary that I typed up of the whole chapter, and then we go down page to page, and Ja leads us in breaking down each page and stuff, and I give my feedback as well. So let's dive straight into it. All right. 1180 Omen. In an instant, Emu jumps down from the top of the castle and appears in the middle of Western Village, demanding to know who the king of Elbath is. Dory and Braggie rebuke him, saying that Elbath has no king, but Emu ignores them as he notices Summers being held by Gerd. Without anyone even seeing him, Emu swings his weapon and cuts off the tips of Gerd's thumb and indexed fingers to free Somers, and causing Gerd to fall back in shock and pain to the rage of everyone present. Summers reclaims a still heart as Zoro confronts Emu, asking him if he is one of the Knights of God. Emu does not reply, but Hajruden says it doesn't matter as he is already an enemy for hurting Gerd like that. As he moves to attack, Stanson warns him to stay back because they do not yet know what Emu is capable of, and he ends up kicking him out of the way of Emu's attack and losing his right leg in the process. All the giants try to stay back from Emu as Zoro uses King of Hell, three sword style from Goku Onigiri to attack Emu, but Emu easily blocks it with his tail before following up with an attack of his own called Omen, which sees him conjure a small black flame that blasts Zoro away. Chopper's worry. Seeing this, Hajrudin attempts to attack Emu again, but Emu defeats him with another omen and leaving the village covered in black flames. Emu then bestows an omen onto Somers to his delight as it heals him, and the two split up with Emu ordering Somers to finish the job. After they leave, Zoro is told to get inside the buildings that have not transformed and gather up the injured and unconscious children. The sight of unfolding carnage left Jarul speechless for a moment. Later, Jarul issues a warning to the rest of Elbath about Emu's presence and that his power is greater than the Knights of God, which means everyone still cannot relax yet. As he flies, Emu notices Gunko in Ragnir's ice block and fires a black ball of flames at it from the bottom of his weapon, causing an explosion. At the left, Gabon sees Emu's hockey and senses Emu's hockey and says he has never felt it before, not even at God Valley. Meanwhile, Loki ends up charring the frozen food at the Walrus School. To Lukey's displeasure, for Loki reasons they cannot afford to be picky right now, especially since both of them sense Emu's hockey and need to eat quickly to recover. Need to eat to quickly recover. Back with Sanji's group, Jinbei, who senses Emu's hockey as well, fears he may try rescuing, try to rescue killing him. And sure enough, Emu cuts killing him loose from the tree and bestows an omen onto him to heal. Outraged, Sanji attacks Emu, but he easily blocks his kick with his own before kicking him away and causing another explosion. Then, Loki confronts Emu and demands to know what he wants with Elbath, to which Emu answers that he seeks Harold's killer, referring to him as his servant. Enraged, Loki rejects his statement, calling Harold the king of Elbath and not Emu's servant, before proclaiming that he is the killer that Emu is looking for. Emu remarks to Loki that if he had not been there, all of his trouble would have been avoided, prompting Loki to angrily respond that he has to deal with him if he wants to bring more harm to Elbath. Man. So a lot happened in this chapter in a very uh short amount like time span. Definitely.

So we got Emu front front and center. The last chapter we seen the front in the reveal. This chapter leaves off with the rear view looking over LBF. Not too much in the beginning, um, every it's just an entrance. But we get uh another look at uh emu's design. Um my own head canon right now is most of the tattoos emu has is like nothing but besides like the eyes on the hands. And last chapter we only seen he had uh an eye on one hand, but this chapter confirms he has uh both hands, yeah.

Um the one thing that really caught my attention was just like the the line tattoos that he has connected to his two hands. They both end at the collars, but they're connected also like the only other part on his body where we see that line tattoo work is connected to his other eye that's that's covered that's been covered up. So I was just wondering if um there's some correlation to that, like the two tattoos on his hand being somewhat connected to his special, like a special ability in this uh left eye, what it appears to be. Yeah, but um you know, a lot of mystery. I've I've heard people say, like, what if the skulls are are some of you know um people he's he's defeated? What if that staff used to belong to Joy Boy? Just I've heard I've heard stuff around the community um from last chapter. Yeah. Um, which I wasn't I wasn't too sure about, and it made me think, but I I I really like this design. I think it I think it's cool. That's still not what I expected, but I think it's a cool villain design.

He even brought up, you know, the the when he was talking about Needhager, like, oh, there was a rumor all those years ago where there was this giant crew with the with the with this giant beast that followed them and and the captain was bigger than the rest of them. I I don't really it's like he knows stuff and then he doesn't know stuff. Um but yeah, I'm with you. It it definitely was weird saying that. That was the first thing he asked, like who's the king of this land?

Obviously, before when we before Emu's reveal, we only seen pretty much his Nomi reversity when he was uh taking over people, but this omen seems to be an actual uh like physical attack, and this black flame. I mean, of course, my my my mind goes to Amateratu, and I'm just wondering on like what significance this black flame is gonna have. Because obviously, we know with Naruto, and I'm not trying to I I hope it's not you know stealing directly from Naruto, but just using it as a reference right now. We know that though those flames specifically don't go out until they're finished burning everything that you know is burning. So um having the devil's fruit in in emu and and using uh a black flamed ability, I would expect it to have a specific effect that we haven't seen before in the show at least. And how it ties into his um covenants that he gives out and stuff, and and clearly fixing we're giving these people boost and in healing Somers and killing him later in the chapter. It definitely is a pretty OP move right now. Yeah. But like I said, is it like we said, it's it's kind of expected from who we expect to be the final boss, the the big bad of the series.

Yeah, so it's just I feel like there's there there's there's levels and there's steps to each journey, and I feel like this is a big like this is almost like a Saba Odie type experience for the for the for Luffy and the crew. It's like because we hear Frankie saying, we're a Yanko level crew, like it's it's it's easy now, and it's like this is a wake-up call, like, and you know, up until Saba Odie, every everything was coming smoothly for the Star Hats. They were winning, they were beating everybody they encountered. And it was like, hold on, y'all aren't ready for the new world yet. This is like, hold on, y'all aren't ready for like the final war yet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where, you know, Luffy's becoming more comfortable in his his sun god form and stuff, but still not ready. And I think this is the humbling they need. I I really don't feel like you could get this type of humbling or set up for a real lock-in from everybody without someone coming easily. Chapter's uh I'll give it a Yanko because this panel is for me, it's panel of the year. Loki's living up straight to all the hype. Um I'm not a fan of emo because I'm I don't like villains that much, and he's over here no diffing like crazy, and I just can't handle it, but yeah.

I'm a I'm a I'm a villain guy. I like villain. So um I'm not a fan of how emu is. I don't like how he handles a lot of situations thus far. Um he moves like a like a punk a little bit, but from what I the display I'm seeing, like where he's actually showing up, like I do like he's standing 10 toes. He's like, I bet I'll pull up. You know, enough of this possessing, enough of me controlling from the shadows. I'm gonna pull up, and then we'll, you know, we'll go from there. And now he's actually standing 10 toes and putting on display true raw power. I do really like that. Um, I'm a villain guy. I do, you know, of course, always want for the most part, I'm a big like heroes coming out on top, but I do like a good villain. I do like a well-written villain who is strong, poses an actual threat, and forces whatever said hero to have to overcome like the true evil power. And I feel like we're getting that from Emu so far. So I do like the aspect that he's one no different people. I didn't feel like they're ready for that type of fight. Um, because like Luffy didn't show that he could even beat the gore, say, even one of them, like with just Saturn. He he never showed that he was on that level yet. So like I don't expect him to emu to pull up and him be able to to put up that much more of a fight.

Another level of you know, you you know how in the fight with Kaido, how it took Luffy to be able to realize what he had to do in order to hurt Kaido and then further on defeat Kaido and his growth throughout that fight. I want him to kind of have an instant with Emu to where like he senses something that he needs to tap into, and then emu flees, and then he's like, hmm, what was that? I need to figure out what that was because that was actually gonna actually put harm into emu. And like emu, that'd be the reason emu leaves. Like he realizes that Luffy's tapping into something, he's like, Alright, I gotta go, because if he continues on with this fight, he'll be dark Nika. So it could be, or like I don't know, but I'm re I'm really liking everything I'm seeing from from uh Emu so far. I think I'm gonna give it a Yanko as well. Umus pulling up, standing on business, getting blitzing all the what three main battlefields that we've seen so far, and he's leaving his mark and this final final two panels with his face off with Loki is pretty uh pretty exciting. I hope I hope Ragnir and Loki make it out of this battle. Yeah. No one talked about the potential of re losing Ragnir. Ragnir sacrificing himself or something. That would be crazy.
