The Dram Dialogues

The Perfect Blend: Whiskey Revelation

Jaemasyn & Jordon Season 1 Episode 4

Send us a text

The moment that left us speechless wasn't supposed to happen. What began as a straightforward review of Templeton Rye's 13-Year Hidden Stash Collection transformed into whiskey alchemy when we spontaneously mixed it with Old Fitzgerald 9-Year Bottled in Bond.

The Templeton Rye 13-Year deserves attention on its own merits. Priced around $200, this 108-proof limited release (only 3,456 bottles produced) comes in an elegant green presentation box that reflects its premium status. The whiskey's deep amber color immediately captivates, while its profile delivers rich vanilla bean, dried fruits, and a backbone of spice-driven oak. As bottle #629, our particular expression showcases the meticulous craftsmanship behind this MGP-sourced, Iowa-finished product.

Meanwhile, the Old Fitzgerald 9-Year Bottled in Bond ($130) represents the other end of the whiskey spectrum - a wheated bourbon with notes of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and butterscotch that drinks remarkably smooth despite its 100 proof strength. Both whiskeys impressed us individually, earning their place among premium offerings.

But something magical happened when equal parts of these spirits mingled in our glasses. The resulting combination eliminated the ethanol heat while creating perfect harmony between rye spice and bourbon sweetness. This accidental "bourye" delivers layers of flavor that unfold sequentially - warming spice up front transitioning into chocolate richness with a perfectly balanced finish. The experience literally gave us goosebumps.

Beyond our whiskey epiphany, we address the controversial practice of "bottle hunting" versus collecting. Our philosophy remains firm: whiskey exists to be opened, enjoyed, and shared. Every bottle in our collection - no matter how rare or allocated - gets uncorked and experienced with friends.

SPEAKER_01:

All right. Welcome, North Dedota Whiskey Lovers, and welcome to another episode of the Dram Dialogues. We are here at the uh my house again and the uh Speakeasy. Jameson's here as always, uh helping out. Hello, hello. Today we'll get into what we're doing in a second, but we'll go back and forth. We're live recording as well, video over on another platform. So we'll be answering back and forth on that as well as people pop in. But on this uh podcast here, what uh we're really gonna kind of cover here is a new bottle that we picked up the other day. This Templeton Rye, the 13-year, the Hidden Stash Collection, limited release. That's the number one. You guys have probably heard about it, seen it out there. It comes in a very fancy box. The box itself is expensive. The hidden stash collection. I just opened it, it's been sitting here breathing for a minute. I also picked up another cool bottle today. Maybe we'll crack that too. Old Fitzgerald Bottle and Bond 9 year 25 release. But yeah, we'll get into that. But anything we need to cover first, Jamie?

SPEAKER_02:

Anything we got a bottle share coming up.

SPEAKER_01:

Bottle share coming up. We'll have to change that location due to some unforeseen issues that popped up. I'll I'll make that change, but that'll probably we'll just host it at my house, and then we'll work on future locations for that as well. If you know of one, let me know. We'll get those locations put out. Um, we're still trying to do one a month. We got Whiskey Barrel Weekend coming up. When is that, Jamie? Next month? October 4th. October 4th. You can go over to our website. Should be pretty up to date. I'll re-update that. I'll take another look at that tomorrow. But that should be up to date as well. Let's see what else. Bottle share, whiskey barrel weekend. I shared a bunch of stuff today on the page as well. Yeah. So a lot of local events popping up. We got some people watching over live as well. If you don't know what we're doing, we're shooting one of our podcasts right now. If you don't follow us, Jamie, tell them a little bit where to follow along with the Dram Dialogues podcast.

SPEAKER_02:

You can follow on Spotify, Apple Music, or Apple Podcasts, YouTube. Nice. Buzz Sprout. All the major things.

SPEAKER_01:

All the major things. But yeah, we're gonna be doing the Templeton ride. It's been breathing here for a minute. So let's go ahead and pour that. And then I'll have to show some notes, pull up some notes and stuff on it. I don't know much about it. Let's pour this thing, get it breathing in these Glen Cairns here. We were just talking about the color before we darkness. It's so dark. The color is magical. We want to use your cool my pursuit bourbon glass. Pursuit Spirits glass. Maybe one day we'll be on their level. That's the goal. But thanks for everybody that's been following along, especially on this podcast. And a big shout out to Jamison here for doing all that work for us. Yeah, that's the bottle. It's a super cool bottle. It comes in this big green case. I posted a picture of it. We'll talk about it for a minute.

SPEAKER_02:

That'd make a cool shoe box. Get some Templeton rye shoes. Might be onto something.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't know what these little gold things say in here. Do they say anything? Templeton. Virgin Oak 13. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

You could use them as a ball marker.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you could actually. I saw the little card in here. It says the hidden stash collection. It says in 1929, the local bank in Templeton, Iowa, survived the crash thanks to the town's famously secret revenue source, their hidden stash. In 2006, the legacy that saved a town inspired a revival, led by descendants of the town's original whiskey legends, and now in honor of the strength of spirit of Templeton's residents, we're proud to share some of our finest stash that has been patiently aged for 13 years. And to kind of go along with that. Very nice box. Yeah. So it says here under some notes that I've quickly found. The Timbleton Hen Stash Collection, 13-year-old rye, is the most ambition expression yet. Their most ambitious expression yet. Bold, refined, and nostalgic with 13 years of maturation and American oak. It delivers a nuanced balance of caramel sweetness, oak spice, and rye grain backbone. Ripe for rye lovers looking for prestige and depth.

SPEAKER_02:

You can the in the bottle, it looks like straight caramel. Yeah. You can definitely see it.

SPEAKER_01:

Some legs on that. Crafted as a limited release number one tribute to Templeton, Iowa. As we talked about, the whiskey is produced and bottled in Iowa using MGP distilled raged 13 years. A bold blend of age and provenance. So distillation in Indiana, final bottling in Templeton, Iowa. I'm not gonna read the notes yet, because I like to try to guess those. For those people that are just joining in on the live video up there, we're shooting the podcast, our next podcast episode, so you're seeing it first up there.

SPEAKER_02:

And these are numbered bottles. So there was three thousand three thousand four hundred and fifty-six bottles of this produced, and this is bottle six hundred and twenty-nine.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, sweet. I did not notice that. Nice catch. Where'd you see that at?

SPEAKER_02:

Right bottom corner.

SPEAKER_01:

Right bottom corner. Oh, looky there. And it is 103-proof. 103, 108-proof, actually. 108. Was that an eight? Yeah. The lights hitting it. Yeah, shoot you glasses. 108 proof on that. All right. Well, let's get a nose on this thing. What do you think?

SPEAKER_02:

I get alcohol. Yeah. For the first few waves. I definitely get caramel.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, say hello. How are you? Nice to meet you. The Kentucky Reach Around. The Kentucky, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Boy, I don't know that nose. You gotta let it grow on you.

SPEAKER_01:

I've been smelling it for like the last two minutes, so Usually after that first sip, though, kind of then we'll revisit that nose.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. It's hot for sure.

SPEAKER_01:

No warm-up pours or anything. It's actually really good. It's it's really good. We'll break it down in a second. You know, I I can usually tell right away whether, at least with my palate, if it's a yay or an A. This is very good. I am getting my least favorite note. Cherry. There's a lot of cherry on it. There's a lot of cherry on it. Hey, those people up there, if you haven't, if that are in on our live video as well, we're shooting our next podcast. So you guys are getting the first view of that of our podcast. We're uh we're doing the Templeton Rye 13. Templeton Rye 13. The bottle I just got and shared about the other day. Yes, I open all the bottles I buy for those wondering. We can also talk about that. Yes. Let's see here. Nose. Alright, let's talk about nose for a second. Vanilla bean.

SPEAKER_02:

It's a lot of ethanol up front.

SPEAKER_01:

A ton. Again, fresh crack. Yeah, it was breathing just for a minute.

SPEAKER_02:

A lot of spice up front. A lot of spice of rye, though.

SPEAKER_01:

I think I get more of the vanilla bean than anything. It says on the nose, you get a bouquet of rich caramel, vanilla bean, and dried fruits. Maybe picking up that dried fruit as well. Softly balanced by spice-driven oak. Craft reviewers call it impressive and charming.

SPEAKER_02:

It is spicy and it is oaky. For sure. I don't know if I get any vanilla.

SPEAKER_01:

No. Well, no, I get the vanilla bean. I can get the vanilla bean. I don't, I'm not getting any caramel, which I normally would. If we can get dry fruit, but yeah. I don't know. Those guys up there again on the Facebook. Oh, other platform side. We're shooting our podcast over here. I don't know if I can say that word or not, but I said it. Shooting a podcast over here as well, but you guys up there are getting to see it first. What do you think, Jamie? What do you think? Another sip there.

SPEAKER_02:

It's still hot. Oh, dude, I'm loving that. It's very spicy, like spice warm.

SPEAKER_01:

That second sip is money. I get the cherry in there.

SPEAKER_02:

Like the before you take another drink, you get it. You get it. It takes a while.

SPEAKER_01:

If anybody knows anything about my palate, which these guys do, is that cherry is not my thing. I do not enjoy it, which they say doesn't make too much sense because I like a lot of buffalo cheese products, which are heavy and cherry. But it's blended well. This is not overpowering in cherry. Let's talk about the palette real quick here. The palette is this says the palette is layered and well structured, deep rye spice. I get that on the second sip. Like right away. Oak tannin, that's definitely there. Dried fruits. Like I'm assuming. Sorry, that I looked up. Oak tannin, balanced sweetness and hints of dried fruit and gentle floral notes. I'm getting more of that cherry on it. So the dried fruit and the maybe that's floral notes I'm picking out of there, too.

SPEAKER_02:

I definitely get the cherry. I don't know if I get any floral notes.

SPEAKER_01:

That deep rye spice and not oak tannins. You can taste and smell the spice. A third sip. Oh so good. That is good. Wow. I'm impressed. And the finish on it, let's see. My my finish, I get that lingering spice back there, but I still that dry fruit really holds on with that cherry flavor. Let's let's see what they say. With the finish is long, warming, smooth with lingering oak spice. Okay, yep. Uh grain character and subtle rye warmth. You definitely get that rye warmth on it.

SPEAKER_02:

The baking spice warmth. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

The finish leaves a subtle herbal Christmas before Christmas crispness before fading gracefully. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

That's funny. I thought it actually said Christmas, and I was like, when I saw that bottle though, I go, that makes sense. That's Christmas bourbon.

SPEAKER_01:

It looks like it. So this is the rarity is the first in the Hidden Stash series, very limited. Best for sipping uh neat. As you should. Right. Artie. I don't see anything wrong with this. An Idaho price on this. What what what MSRP Idaho on this was what did I what did I say I paid first? Do you remember? Was it under 200 or right at 200?

SPEAKER_02:

I think it was a little under 200.

SPEAKER_01:

Just under 200. You know, for here, uh us here in Idaho, they have to sell it at MSRP, so that's what we got it for. We didn't have to I don't pay secondary anyways for the most part. Well, really, at all. I hate it. You know, every once in a while we'll go into Washington so close, we'll go into Washington side and pay those syntaxes over there.

SPEAKER_02:

That's our secondary.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, with the bag tax and everything else they have they have over there. But yeah, under 200 bucks for this, I'm not mad at that. There's some bottles in here that I spent a lot more on that I wish I could have tried first. But while we're sitting here drinking, let's let's just go into that with the uh do I open my bottles when I buy them?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, yes, yeah, as you should. As anyone who drinks whiskey should.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and just like we talked about with Artie in that last episode, we we is there some bottles I'm not gonna open and drink by myself? Yeah, I have some of those. I'm not against drinking them by myself, but I would much rather open them with friends. If you look around this room and the bottles that I've posted and everything, and the reason I bring this up is because it gets asked a lot, and with Idaho being a control state and all this stuff, you know, and with rumors going around and whatnot, and you hear a lot of it from the store owners, store managers, whatever. Won't call anybody out specifically. But you know, they picture me, and I'm sure we have people in our group that are this way, but whatever. And but me and least like the main core of guys, the five, the six of us, who we open our bottles, we share those bottles. I've got over here, you can't see them. I got Templeton Rye, just for example. I just bought that for 200 bucks. Could I, you know, we opened it, we're reviewing it. So if you guys see it, you guys can go out there and buy it. We're not sponsored by anybody. Nobody at all. Nobody at all.

SPEAKER_02:

But that can change one day. I'm saying that we're not, you know, we're make sure you go to North IdahoWiskilovers.com and subscribe to our weekly newsletter.

SPEAKER_01:

We'll take a sponsorship, that's for sure. But I'm gonna look around in here, Jim. What have I got? I got plant's gold up there straight from the barrel. It's all open again. Got the full lineup of weather. Including the CYPB, it's open. What what else? Oh my fits, my all the remisses, reemuses, the Elmer Teeley, the the Jack 14, the Jack 14, Jack and 12, right there, all open. Little book. All the 1792s. All the 1792s, the bookers, Elmer Lee's, the Elmer Teale, Blood Oaths up there. Everything I buy gets open and shared, and and that's what it's all about. Like just today. And another bottle I bought today is Old Fitz over here. Uh, I'm not against opening up trying that right now on this show because I have the eight year from like two years ago in the old fit seven, the bottle and bond. Is that what they are? Yep, which is a great bottle too, which is fantastic. And and I got this bottle. Like what I'm not happy about though, is how much in price, which doesn't bother me because I don't like it. But Elmer T. Lee went up$50 a bottle. I saw that. For our area. It was like you can get out the door under$40 for it, and now it's over$80. For a 90 proof.

SPEAKER_02:

And it's a good 90 proof. But is it a$90.

SPEAKER_01:

No, it was it was perfectly priced in my opinion, right at$40. Say$45. That's perfect price range for that bottle. I know Artie is gonna have a hard time paying that when he's a$100 proof.

SPEAKER_02:

He's even said he liked it. There's a good price for a 90.

SPEAKER_01:

Right. You know, yeah, open my bottles. None of my bottles get sold secondary, none of my bottles get sold, period. Yeah, I mean, I I know there's a lot of rumors going around there, and if people hear them, let me know. But we wanted to kind of debunk those. And you guys will see if you come to the next bottle share here.

SPEAKER_02:

You gotta show up to see.

SPEAKER_01:

You gotta show up to see. Yeah, we can't have one person show up. Uh, you know, bring a bottle to that bottle share, but there's not a bottle if it's not currently open, then you can't open if you're gonna be here and you want to try it. Like, feel free. Yes. Well, let's get some more thoughts on this Templeton Rye. That's why we're really here. After it's been sitting here, opening up, obviously, just like anything else. Oh, it's so good. I'm gonna leave that right there for a minute. And we're gonna open this. Because I'm dying to try it. Yeah, yeah. Look at that. I just bought this down at the self tea store. I'll say that. Just bought this down at the self tea store, and we're opening it right now.

SPEAKER_02:

The tops are so cool.

SPEAKER_01:

The tops are sweet.

SPEAKER_02:

They are on all the Fitz models.

SPEAKER_01:

Whiskey World, Idaho store managers, Idaho State Police, whoever. I opened the bottle I just bought. And I say that, and we are in no way at all under any sorts of watchful eyes or that we know of or anything. It's just unless you're a weirdo. Yeah. It's just something I gotta get the windows. Just gotta get it off my chest because I don't like hearing it because I try to be positive and you know, follow the rules and everything and want to do things the right way. And I don't like being brought into that, you know, under the into that secondary market flipper category. It's just not who I am and who we are here. Old Fitz9, bottled and bond. Right out of hunterproof.

SPEAKER_02:

It smells 100-proof, but it doesn't really have a not really getting too much of a nose off of it. Very mellow.

SPEAKER_01:

Again, fresh crack, just bought it today. It's gonna be, yeah. The color on that too, though, is just about as good as that Templeton rye. Oh boy. Oh boy. I don't know. If I had to compare these two, which is kind of unfair, they're not necessarily the same thing. They're pretty close though. And it wasn't meant for us to compare these two each other, but that old fitz is the first sip of that to me was in my opinion better than the Temple Tendra. That could be the cherry note. Um we don't know.

SPEAKER_02:

It's definitely blended better. I think it it it's a lot smoother. The flavor you can definitely taste all the flavor. I gotta look this up now.

SPEAKER_01:

Two totally different things though. I mean, you you got a rye and you got a straight bourbon whiskey here. Bottle and bond. Obviously two totally different things, but that is outstanding. Old Fitzgerald nine nine years twenty twenty-five. Again, I got this bottle at Idaho prices, so get no secondary, no Washington price with their taxes. Let's see here. No brown sugar, red fruit.

SPEAKER_02:

Brown sugar. I get like walnut.

SPEAKER_01:

You taste walnut like some kind of not leather hint of caraway or milk chocolate. Hay. Hay I can definitely get growing up on a farm. Our live session up there cut out for whatever reason. But that's fine. They don't get to see the whole show. They gotta go to the podcast to finish it.

SPEAKER_02:

Buy and you only can listen to it if you buy a t-shirt.

SPEAKER_01:

Buy a t-shirt.

SPEAKER_02:

North Idaho Whiskey Lovers.com.

SPEAKER_01:

North Idaho WL.com.

SPEAKER_02:

Let's go back to these notes here.

SPEAKER_01:

Palette. Rich, sweet profile with dark cherry. See, I'm not getting the cherry.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't get any dried fruit. I can pick up cherry in anything. I think it's very, it's very rich flavors. I definitely get the chocolates.

SPEAKER_01:

Rich, sweet profile with dark cherry, caramel, blackberry, brown sugar, and leathery oak notes. I get leather, sugar, chocolate. I don't get any honey, butterscotch, and apple pie are also mentioned. I could see butterscotch. Yep. Butterscotch for sure.

SPEAKER_02:

I definitely don't get does it say blackberries? It says blackberry.

SPEAKER_01:

I definitely do not get blackberry. A mellow, medium, long finish with prominent red fruit notes, vanilla, and a developing spice. Yeah, vanilla and spice for sure. For me.

SPEAKER_02:

I can see the dark cherry. The more you do, it kind of tastes like it, it kind of smells like a fruit cake.

SPEAKER_01:

Crushable, it says the bourbon is described as crushable, meaning it's very easy and enjoyable to drink. To me, a crushable seems like uh Coo's Light or something. Not PBR. A PBR, not so much this. Like this is a sip and enjoy. To high schoolers, it may seem crushable. Yeah, you you can crush that if you're in high school. But no, so we've had two very good drinks in front of us. Both just bought within the last what week. That's implementon rye 13-year. If you can find that bottle at well, if you find that bottle MSRP, it's definitely get. I I wouldn't pay too much over MSRP for it. Same with these old fits. The old fits, you know, that's Idaho prices, what,$130, whatever it is. You know, that's a solid price point for that. I wouldn't pay much over MSRP for it as well. I it it's hard for me to say that because you're easy for me to say that, I guess, because I don't pay for much over MSRP, period. But if that's your jam and you're, you know, you can only find it for secondary prices, I guess. More power to you. But for me, MSRP is the way to go.

SPEAKER_02:

Or maybe unicorn auctions. You can even find under MSRP.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, sometimes.

SPEAKER_02:

I prefer the finish on the Templeton. I want to revisit both of them right now.

SPEAKER_01:

But I prefer the nose of the Fitzgerald. I again two totally different things. I love the rye. The Templeton rye flavor. Just tried it again. Absolutely fantastic. Mix them.

SPEAKER_02:

Mix them? That's what I just did. You mixed them? It tastes like a Did you make a boo-raye? It tastes like a little mini infinity bottle. It tastes like a like a spicy fruit cake or like a spicy German chocolate cake.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, well, I get a lot of I don't know if this is allowed in the whiskey world, but we just mixed Old Fitzgerald Bottle and Bond with the Templeton Rye 13. Let's see what we got. We're pioneers. Holy crap. That enhanced the rye flavor to me.

SPEAKER_02:

You get the spice.

SPEAKER_01:

The spice a lot more spicy.

SPEAKER_02:

The after isn't as bad.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

You get this, it's layered. You get a it's burning spice up front. Up front, and then it mellows, and then it's like the baking spices, and then it goes right into that chocolatey sweetness. Definitely milk chocolate for sure.

SPEAKER_01:

Dude, I seriously got goosebumps. Holy cow. I might start mixing more. What in the world? I'll mix them for you. That I don't think was supposed to happen that way. But if old Fitzgerald and Templeton need to do a collaboration.

SPEAKER_02:

I think it'd be cool if you saw that anywhere in the whiskey world. Oh you don't see it. And maybe for obvious reasons, but I mean they make if you could take a they make buoyes, but not like not like we're talking about here.

SPEAKER_01:

Not like an old Fitzgerald and a Templeton, not like a collaboration. I have a couple boo ries, but they don't taste anything like that. Knob Creek, I have one. I know that.

SPEAKER_02:

With with little they're all little age statements, though, right? I believe so. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. This is a 13 and a nine year.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, if you could take, if you could combine years like that, get companies start working together to give you, they just dump half the bottle even into a container. Or

SPEAKER_01:

We're gonna work on trademarking that, but um that might that might be something I wonder what the difference would be to do it like in a Jack like a Jack 14 and 10. Like would that would that make a drastic difference or is it the it's gotta be the buraye that's doing it?

SPEAKER_02:

You'd have to figure out like you'd have to find one that was more on the sweet side, and you'd have to get one like the rye where it's spice, because then I think it levels it up.

SPEAKER_01:

But I think if you dump two sweet bourbons together, I think it's just gonna be you'll have to title this episode like stick around for the till the end for a surprising stick around for the mix. So that's a$200 bottle and a hundred and thirty dollar bottle, a nine-year-old fitz and a thirteen year Templeton that we just mixed together and made. I can coption.

SPEAKER_02:

It's good. It's good. It's great. I would actually prefer this over either of the first two that I tried. I mean, they were great, but but together?

SPEAKER_01:

What in the world? I'm just gonna make sure that it wasn't a one and done thing, you know. Let me try this again. Maybe a little bit more. How's that sounding here? Oh yeah, there we go. Perfect. All right, let's see here. I I just report equal parts, old fits nine, Templeton Ray thirteen. Shut the front door. Shut the mother front door. Dude, that's one I kid you not. That is one of the best things I've ever drank.

SPEAKER_02:

You get the it's so layered, is why I think it is.

SPEAKER_01:

It's way layered.

SPEAKER_02:

That that is crazy. I think I'm I'm not a huge fan of spicy, but I think or or rye in general, that's that spice from rye. And but you add it with that and it just it cuts it completely. I mean it's there, it's noticeable, but it's not like burn your, it's no ethanol. You don't get any more ethanol. No, it's gone. Oh, it's sweet. But then you get that oak spice at the end, though.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm not gonna be able to stop talking about this.

SPEAKER_02:

It's great.

SPEAKER_01:

That is no joke. Legit. Stick around, folks, for to the end of this episode for that shocking result. Temple Templeton and Rye, Old Fitzgerald 9, you guys made fantastic products by themselves, mixed for whatever reason. Jamie got a wild hair, decided to mix it, and it works out fantastic. That that may be frowned upon, like adding ice to your whiskey or mixing it with Coca-Cola or something, but you like what you like. You like what you you drink it like you like it.

SPEAKER_02:

That's right. And it's and then I think drinking whiskeys like the bottle said, straight up, dry, neat, is the preferred way, but definitely. I don't think there's any specific way to drink whiskey.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't drink my whiskey any other way. And I'm not saying that it's the right way. If you put ice in it, you put ice in it. You drink it like you like it. You guys sit on the patio though. You guys, yeah, don't be next to me when you do that. I'll make fun of you. But I'll tell you what, one thing I the one time I added, the one first time I added anything to my whiskey other than drinking it and eat was that Taylor back there, the uncut, unfiltered, was like 134 proof. I I don't know what it is. It's high proof. It's hot. I liked it, it was hot. Buddy of mine said, add some water to that. I said, Absolutely not. I'm not gonna do that. Well, I did put a little droplet, add some water to it. It enhanced the flavor in that bottle so much. One of my favorite bottles, and every time I'll put a little drop of water in it. Other than that, uh usually nothing. Other than if I'm having uh what old-fashioned, obviously, a single cube, a single, not a bunch of crunched ice or something.

SPEAKER_02:

Sonic ice. We don't want sonic ice and old-fashioned people.

SPEAKER_01:

So good. Well, again, for those local here, and that'll be uh here in this episode. If you're local, whiskey barrel wicken, huge. Whiskey barrel wicken is pretty huge up here. It's like the second. We have two big whiskey, uh, real big whiskey events up here. We have Whiskey Barrel Weekend, of course, and then we have Oh, what in the world? Sip Idaho Sip Sip Sip Idaho North. I had to mute myself because I wasn't sure if that was it. Yeah. Sorry, Rochelle. And in fact, they just had their big, I believe they have the big Boise one, their original. They'll give the big one.

SPEAKER_02:

Coming up this week.

SPEAKER_01:

Was it is it coming up or was this last week?

SPEAKER_02:

Or was it this last Saturday?

SPEAKER_01:

I think it was just last Saturday. But they do an outstanding job. Lots of people. But yeah, Whiskey Ware, Barrowican's huge. Usually that is makers, for sure. It's usually there. Big makers mark presents. I can tell you they posted it.

SPEAKER_02:

Did they post it? They posted who's gonna be in their main ballrooms.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, because I was messaging to them yesterday, or I'm sorry, Thursday. And uh they didn't quite have it all nailed down yet. But we have that coming up, bottle share coming up. That'll be at my house. Then we have Up North Distillery on Thursday, has an awesome guy named Koach. He's gonna be out there singing. I'm planning on being there. Hopefully, I can make it. Just lots of great stuff. Uh free bottle tasting coming up at the Saltese liquor store. North Star Spirits putting that on. That's with Pepper. James E. Pepper.

SPEAKER_02:

Which is an amazing product, too. Their decanter is one of my favorites.

SPEAKER_01:

Decanter's the best. They have 1776, a whole bunch of products. Get out there and hunt. I mean, get out there and look around. We call it hunting. Get out there and look around the liquor stores. You know, you're not going to find a bottle if you're not there looking. If you want to find it at a great price, get out there and look. I picked up my daughter from school today, ran straight over to the liquor store, and found the old fits. I was out running errands the other day, walked in, found the Temple Tenray. Just we get zero inside information, mainly because that's illegal here in Idaho. You just gotta get lucky. The store I walked into today, oh, I think I said where I got it, still tea store. They had everything out there Baumburgers, Shanks, Elmer T. Lee, the old fits, Blantons. Top floor from benchmark, or I'm sorry, benchmark foolproof. Bookers, caribou, a bunch of other stuff out there. Just gotta get out and look. Now Idaho changed the rules too, where we used to be able to buy one of each allocated item. Now we can only buy one period for the day.

SPEAKER_02:

Maybe it doesn't.

SPEAKER_01:

I thought I read, I thought someone shared something that it was I'll message him tomorrow again and see if they have that dialed in. I know for sure makers will be there. Rainfire's gonna be there. Rainfires are local here to Warley. They're in Warley, Idaho. They're gonna be there. I'm sure up north distillery is gonna be there. Danny Warren from Warren Reserve Bidders. He'll be there. Who else? Blanton's usually has some sort. Not Blanton's, I'm sorry, Sazerac Company. Buffalo Trace usually has some sort of representation there. Jim Bean will be there. Jim Bean. Yeah, go over to the Cordelinkasino, not Cordlang Cassino, sorry. What is it called? The Cortland Resort. Go there too, though. You can go there too, though. But you go to our website, like Jameson said earlier, Northeidaho WL.com. Um we have the links over there.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, the links. And check out the merchandise page.

SPEAKER_01:

Please check out the merchandise.

SPEAKER_02:

It helps us out buy bottles like this to share with you guys.

SPEAKER_01:

I'll be honest, the merch page. We've sold like a total of 10 things, and it's been up there for well over a year. I have the stuff marked down so low on that that you talk about profit margin, there's not anything there. We want people to get on there, buy our brand, spread it around, and then yeah, all that money is gonna go right back into the page and growing the page even more and putting on more events and buying bottles and sharing and whatever else they can go towards. Maybe one day Idaho will say, Hey, guess what? You can sell, but that'll probably never happen.

SPEAKER_02:

We can dream.

SPEAKER_01:

I can go 10 minutes the other way into Washington and get it, but oh nice dream. Do that again. Oh, there it is. Idaho, if you're listening, let's make something happen. But uh anything else you want to add, Jamie, before we get off of here?

SPEAKER_02:

I think that's it. I think just Whiskey Bara Weekend's the biggest thing coming up.

SPEAKER_01:

Whiskey Barrow Weekend's huge coming up.

SPEAKER_02:

And make sure to get your tickets because they sell out fast.

SPEAKER_01:

Very fast. But support local, always support local. Go to your local mama pop bars. You know, we have a lot around here that we love, we enjoy them. Just continue to support local. That's our biggest push, no matter where you're listening from.

SPEAKER_02:

Most every every one of our listeners so far is Idaho. Is Idaho? We have two people in South Carolina for some reason. Hey! I was looking at it the other day.

SPEAKER_01:

And over on one of our other platforms, if you see my post the other day, most of our followers are from Istanbul, Turkey. United States, we're catching up, though. But if you can get over there and make Istanbul number two, I would greatly appreciate that. So, all right, guys, until the next one. Thanks for listening and listening to us rambling, and we'll uh we'll talk to you later.
