SPEAKER_03

Hi there! Welcome and welcome back to Dweep City, where nerdism thrives and storytelling thrives, with your host none other than me, Star Jackson. In this episode, we're talking to a very special friend, Dante Majors, voice actor, artist, and a lover of Pete. We dig into a lot of nerdy stuff, his journey on voice acting, and what it's like to be expressive and being vocal about being expressive, especially on social media. I love talking to Dante, and I hope you guys loved listening to it as much as we did recording it. Now, without further ado, let's go ahead and talk to Dante. Hi guys, welcome and welcome back to Tweed City. We have a special guest in the building. Um, this voice actor has a deep resonant voice, known for his um artistry, digital artistry. He's a singer, and also um loves Mr. Pete from Disney. And I can't wait to get into that too, because I got to know. Um and he is a Canadian signed with A B Square CNT agency, and is just an all-around amazing person. Dante majors in a building.

SPEAKER_00

Hello!

SPEAKER_02

How has your game been going? I want to know uh uh what you've been up to.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, uh things have started off a little a little like um a little slow and steady. And um I only submitted like a couple auditions just um just to ease with myself. Um and uh some of them were just like a little short auditions that I just uh sent. I mean I just uh sent them a little uh a few minutes uh before I um I stepped in here.

SPEAKER_03

Oh cool. How how did they go? What do you think? How do you feel about them?

SPEAKER_00

Um honestly, um I recorded them while I was on an empty stomach. So I think they weren't my best, but I feel like they kind of worked because I I I just like at least got that confidence today.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I honestly feel that. Like whenever I used to do tests in school, they would be they would always make sure like they're like don't do it on an empty stomach, because then you're gonna be thinking about like how hungry you are while you're while you're like doing it. So I definitely understand that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I mean like um I came across like um I only did like uh two of the auditions because like one of them um was in my deeper range or but I I I just couldn't even do that on on an empty stomach for some weird reason.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Oh, I'd love to get into that. Like, so how did you know like you had like a deeper range? Did you just like try trying new things?

SPEAKER_00

I think I've always had a deep voice on me. It's just um I just uh naturally I barely speak with it because like um I think I don't know, it's it's kind of long story because like as a kid I kind of like avoided um trying to I was like afraid of like my voice getting deeper probably around like 13 or 14. Um which um I look back at how I sounded, I still had like a child's voice up until I was like 17.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

And like um pretty much I was just uh I got comfortable with my voice getting lower, so I just uh kind of flexed it with uh with doing voices, but then um eventually I got into voice acting um around my early twenties. Oh eventually that's what I did.

SPEAKER_03

Oh cool. So you were like, you know what? I have a deep voice and I I'm going to flex it. I'm going to try I love that. I remember like growing up too, like I would be afraid to like uh like d developing it's a it's a lot as a t as a kid, as a teen, like going through all these things changing in your body, and you're just like um uh this is different, and you don't want to be different because you want to be in with the kids, but then you could when you get older you realize you're like oh you know what? I like this, I like me. So I lost love that and I love how you like show show it so well. Your range is insane too. Like I just I love we're on a project together too. Um and and I remember hearing your uh your character uh on the project, and I was like, what? I remember I was like, I didn't even know like that that was even you, so that's really super cool. And so you said you got into voice acting in your 20s, so did you feel like how did that happen?

SPEAKER_00

Did you just like see something online and you just jumped into it, or it slowly got to me, because like um I uh watched some Disney Afternoon cartoons uh as they were like posted on YouTube right before Disney yanked them. Um around the early 2010s. I saw shows like Darkwing Duck Tailspin and Goof Troop, but then eventually um that was my first time witnessing them. Uh but um I saw like uh DuckTales and and um Chibado Rescue Rangers like way before that, and and um back then I wasn't really a Disney fan, but I just watched it when it was available. Um then uh when I was um around the mid-2010s, um when I was starting to get into my twenties, um I um started these little things where I just uh do voice do some silly voices uh on a series of videos. Um some people um who probably know me probably heard of something called if Pokemon Talked. Oh so um I just like um make the Pokemon talk. I originally I did all the voices, but now I just uh I just do some of the voices. Um well like um like um several of the starters, even if even in their first evolutions, as well as Pikachu in those.

SPEAKER_03

Oh cool. So it was like like a fandom thing?

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, basically.

SPEAKER_03

Oh cool.

SPEAKER_00

And then that's what um is eventually uh sorry, um at um Oh no, okay. And then as soon as um the uh the pandemic uh hit, um I was eventually deciding like, you know what? I think I might make this voice acting a thing now. Well, uh a little before that, I saw a video from uh I think you heard of Anna Brisbane. Yeah, like uh Brizzy Voices. Yeah, uh there was a video um uh which there's a video she did like uh back in 2019 um about like how to get into voice acting. And um I took uh I took her advice there and um and I was I mean like I was kind of like unsure if I should actually make this move, but eventually I I did in 2021, and um that was my first time going professional, and um all I had was this USB mic right here, uh which I currently use for like Discord chats and like um and like uh podcasts and stuff. Um but uh now a professional mic and I had that since my first year.

SPEAKER_01

And um my mic too.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. And I managed to um well with my USB mic, I just managed to uh book my first uh my first uh audio drama podcast, and uh this got me an IMDB credit just on my first year.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow! So your first one and you gotta I that's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

I know, right? It's it's just surreal. And um eventually having my my current mic, my AT2020, um, I got that later that year. Um I don't think I booked anything during that year with my current mic, but um with um the same mic I have right here, um I did also book my first animation roll. Or my first two animation rolls.

SPEAKER_04

Um That's so cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because my first animation role was um uh it's still ongoing, it's still like uh in development, but it's uh it's called Belforts Traveling Circus, and um I voice one of the villains, uh Madman Jr.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And um I'm not sure if uh the creator's gonna get back to this, but uh there was just a little short uh back in like a few years ago. Um my second animated role was uh something called Manny and Nigel. Oh and I voices Big Baron and Nigel. And um I looked back at this and I realized that um that uh Manny, the smaller dog character, was voiced by Nathan Wagner. Oh wow Which I did not know until like years later. It's like wow. That was like my and that was actually my first year voice actors, like, wow. I didn't know that was Nathan all this time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah!

SPEAKER_03

It's like oh wow, I didn't even know we were in the same project. That's cool.

SPEAKER_00

I know, right?

SPEAKER_03

Did you did you do any like um theater or anything in school?

SPEAKER_00

I actually never got a theater background. All I did was um yeah, all I did was actually take some uh voice acting uh classes um online workshops. And a few ADR workshops as well. And um also a bit of singing lessons, but I dropped out of that after like um halfway through because like um as I was um almost completed, but the thing is um I was near broke during that time, so I just uh dropped out of voice. Yes, but I learned something from it and voice acting helped.

SPEAKER_03

That's good. Yes, getting like all the classes that you like I feel like classes are so necessary to really like um um deepen your understanding of voice acting and to really like get into the like the meat and potatoes and like um to really get those really good raw reads. And and it's fun to like connect with um other voice actors and um directors and and mentors and and stuff like that. It's like it's like a triple whammy, but they are super expensive. Well, some of them are like actually affordable, but for the most part, like they can wreck out the money.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes, I've uh tried to avoid the expensive ones as much as possible because like um yeah. I remember getting broke the second time in my life, and hopefully that will be my last time getting broke. And yeah, I was like depressed and everything during that time. That was only like last year that happened. At the start of last year, even. Yeah, because like um Um, I remember the last workshop I took. I mean, uh I've seen a workshop with like the same person teaching, and it was only like under a hundred. But this one was like near three hundred.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_00

And it was the same length.

SPEAKER_03

And for one class?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, yeah, it was it was one class, yeah. As far as I remember.

SPEAKER_03

And but um I feel like with those, um, even though they're a lot, like you get like a lot of of of information from them, and it's and then they're fun too, but yeah, they can be a little bit a rack out the money, but they're worth it. And I noticed so.

SPEAKER_00

It was um It was I mean, like um honestly, um the workshop was enjoyable, but like um I was able to get like um some some valid points and um a fun read from and some fun reads for it, but uh the problem is it was hella expensive.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. So did you always um um do classes or um um when did you start doing classes?

SPEAKER_00

Did you do them recently or while you were when you first started off with voice acting or I started um the um this very same year I started professionally back in 2021. So also it's gonna be like my fifth year doing this professionally.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh! Time is flying, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I have to know. Um, so what got you into the loving um Pete?

SPEAKER_00

Oh boy. It was all the way back in my first year in high school.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um I was discovering like um my first um sorry, I was like, um saw this, I first saw his compilation of like all the Disney villains on like YouTube, but then I just came across P like, I want to know more about this guy. And I was like, oh, I I forget he's I forget he's kind of a thick guy, so I was like, uh I don't know. And I don't know how to put this. Um and I just thought I'd I'd search more about it because I forgot he was like um he was this epic and that thick as well. But um and um I eventually watched uh Three Musketeers, uh McDonald's and Goofy Three Musketeers, and I was blushing like crazy when when I saw him on screen or heard his voice even. I was like, oh my goodness. Well, actually, um I was feeling like, oh, I think I kinda like this character. I think I'm starting to fall in love. I think he might be the first male character I've I've fallen I fell in love with. And yeah, he became my first male animated crush. And now, I mean, even to this day, I still I still blush after 15 years. I s I just like get all flushed.

SPEAKER_03

I love him. Do you think he influences you like your voice acting?

SPEAKER_00

Um, yeah, pretty much. Um, I think. Um speaking of, I I have a Pete Flush with me right now.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, it's so cute.

SPEAKER_00

I know, right?

SPEAKER_03

It's so cute. It's very detailed.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes. The stubble. It just it just um it goes well with his character.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, and he looks so like a distinguished gentleman.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes. He's in his uh Goop Troop outfit, and um that's one of the other adaptations of Pete I just like fall in love with. As well as um his house-of-mouse appearance, I just I just blush every time he's on screen. Oh my god. Well, really, every other appearance I I I blush whenever I see him, and or I just say, It's Pete, my beloved Pete, my husband. I'm just like that. I know, right? And um, yeah, um, but um, out of all the versions of Pete, I I just get the most flustered over Three Musketeers, Goof Troop, and um his uh appearance in uh House of Mouse.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, cool. Did that like influence you into becoming like an artist too? Like how did you get into art? Or was it were you artist first, and then um you like transferred to voice actor? Or I was I I thought it's so cool. I looked at your art on um your um your website and you're so good. And I saw like a lot of Pete art too. Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, there's gonna be more later on. There's gonna be more later on eventually this year. After all, I'm still uh working on my goofsona, and hopefully I'll actually get it done t later today.

SPEAKER_01

Yes! Oh my gosh! I'm excited to see.

SPEAKER_00

And hopefully I'll I'll actually have some proper sortpete art ready.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's the name of the ship, I I call it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh cool. And then for like um the art, um, um uh, do you have like a because I know all artists have like a specific style. Um, what would you say your art style is like?

SPEAKER_00

Um, pretty much mostly I've gone through like a cartoony style, like a well, um it's hard to describe because like um uh most of what I've been doing has been taking notes from like um some of the uh Looney Tunes stuff and uh Lunatons content and um the Disney Afternoon as well. So I mean like um I've taken one a couple courses that were um that were um done by uh what's uh Dave Alvarez um that he hosted and um I've taken a few notes from there whenever I draw.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. And then so um did you draw like where when did you start drawing? What made you want to uh draw?

SPEAKER_00

I've been drawing since uh my childhood, actually. Since uh I want to say grade one was the first time I've done, but um it was it was all stick drawings back then, but like eventually I grew out of the stick drawings by I think grade two. And then uh Oh okay. I just um my art was kind later on was more kind of in an anime comic style, but then eventually I just started this um Um I just eventually got to like a cartoony style around the 2010s and um also I also I also grasped this uh like this uh fantasy D ⁇ D style as well that um I haven't done in years, but I hope to get back to sometime.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's another style I've got. Have you ever thought about Yes, have you ever thought about like doing like your own like um I don't know like webtoon or anything like that? Like uh illustrating or anything?

SPEAKER_00

I haven't thought of that yet, but um maybe potentially. I mean like I have like um some old uh series I've done as a child that I potentially want to bring back. Actually, I I definitely want to bring back, but um yeah, like um I'm just trying to find the right time to do it.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. That's that is the thing, is like time. That is so cool. And then um I think you do you stream?

SPEAKER_00

Um, oh, I actually never streamed really that much, actually.

SPEAKER_03

Never, yeah. I feel like um with streaming, I feel like because there's like a lot of artists that um they they'll stream and then while they're streaming, they'll like do the art. I feel like that would be so cool.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. I mean, I haven't uh thought of that yet, actually. I've um attended um a few streams or been invited to a few streams, but my own stream I have not done yet, actually. But um I hope to do it at some point because like um I'm starting to get more confident because like um I remember like um going live once on TikTok and I was just really nervous and really less talkative, and uh yeah, I just cause sometimes I'm just like um a person who isn't like really talkative, especially when I'm on my own.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um usually um um I usually have someone else uh try to have someone else with with me as much as possible just to help keep the chemistry going.

SPEAKER_03

Right, like especially because I'm streaming um now as well, and when I first started, it was so I was so nervous and I was like, I hope I have stuff to talk about, and um this is so like it and I did YouTube, so it's got a kind of like it's like a YouTube video. I try to like put it in my head like it's like a YouTube video, but it's live and you can't edit anything but and stuff, but um I realize like the more like you do it and the more like you know you're just yourself, the better like it becomes, and it just it's just so fun. So yeah, I definitely understand what you mean. Like it it can it like the nerves can be like get to you, but um that's pretty cool. Like, so you streamed on TikTok before, that's really cool. Um, do you ever post like your art on TikTok or anything like that? Oh do you post on TikTok? Rarely do you do content or anything, or you just like scroll?

SPEAKER_00

Uh sometimes I scroll and sometimes I just post the stuff I I do on YouTube and uh Instagram. Usually if it's like uh a role announcement or if it's uh or if it's just a random video I I did on YouTube. Like recently, um uh recently I did this video. Uh you know that I mean how the Major Digital Circus uh dropped uh one of their episodes. There was a previous um video I did right before the um the episode dropped. It was like reverse. The uh the Three of Busketeers opera the operas tomorrow night, but it didn't as Pete. And um honestly, like um uh I'm surprised people loved my Pete so much. Yes, because like I I get like because like I still get a lot of stage pride doing that voice.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm still trying to overcome I'm trying to overcome it now, but like um like I get really nervous when doing his voice for multiple reasons. I mean like it half the time it just feels like I'm whistling while I'm doing it. Um I specifically get more nervous when imitating how he sounds in like Kingdom Hearts and and most other media after that, but like I can hear some differences, but like how he sounds in Google Troop and Three Musketeers, I get less nervous, but like still I was practically nervous. Um but another reason.

SPEAKER_01

What do you do to help with the news?

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, um I try to think the same thing where I um I just try to like um breathe in, breathe out, just to um and uh not overthink too much. So I I do the same when when singing as well. Because I get ultra nervous when doing that too. And um, yeah, so um the other reason why uh I get nervous when doing Pete's voice is uh because I have a crush on him. Although the weird thing is, although the weird thing is I have a a big crush on Foggorn Legorn as well, but I got no problem doing his voice. Uh but I have like a bigger crush on Pete. And um and I've and I've been have a crush on him for like 15 years now.

SPEAKER_03

I love your Pete.

SPEAKER_00

It's crazy. Honestly, thanks.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it's yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And as you mentioned before, um uh when you asked uh what influenced me about Pete or something, um, does it influence my uh any of the voices I've done? Um there is a voice I've done on like um there's an audio drama called like um Songs of the East Coast, and um I did this uh and um uh they wanted me to do this voice that was similar to Pete, so I just uh went ahead and did it. And also, um And also um uh this character right here actually.

SPEAKER_01

Oh he has his own pillow! Oh my god!

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes, and this is my first ever merch of a character that I officially voice.

SPEAKER_01

That is so cool!

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, I love the like the but oh my so cute That is so cool what does it feel like to have like your own merch it honestly just feels like like so like um surreal to even have that like um I have mer I think I have other merch um but I I don't if like have it with me but um I saw the shirt of a character that I voiced but um uh it's um uh comet from Takin on the Reins and I I still don't have the shirt for it yet. But uh um with uh Tommy Turkey um um I'm um I've been his voice since last year and uh he did have a voice before but um uh he and uh he dropped out.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Oh that's so cool.

SPEAKER_00

And uh the crater reached out at me and um Yeah and I I um I said um he just um asked if I if I um well he was looking for like um a voice for him and um um pretty much um I I sent in a take and um uh he and the and the um the rest of the crew log my take so I'm part of the cast now and it's and it got it and it got officially announced via a live stream from last year as well.

SPEAKER_03

Oh that is so like like exciting when it drops when it finally drops when you're in a project like you really want and you're just like it's out oh yes oh I was gonna say um do you oh yeah um from Segway from the the nervousness I do notice like um you post a lot about like how mental health and um and I would love to uh get into that and um see like what do you do um when you are like sometimes in a rut and like you feel like that imposter syndrome is getting to you what really gets you going again and really gets you like to push harder because I see like sometimes you'll feel bad and I love that that you share so much because we all go through this and you actually you know you you post it and you share it with others and you like let everyone know like hey like you know we I'm feeling like this and like a lot of people are like like I'm not you're not alone I feel the same way like um you just keep pushing keep going and I would love to like see where like um what do you do to like get out of that mindset and to stay positive and to keep going because you're you've been in a a lot of stuff and you're you're continuing to like show up and show out and I would love to like um get into that and get and pick your ring a bit what uh thing I normally do um it's uh it feels like it's different every time because while most of the solutions I just uh find a show that I enjoy to just you know uh I just watch a show that's um one of my comfort shows or I just rest um just to take my mind off things.

SPEAKER_02

That is so neat.

SPEAKER_00

And yeah um I've been in better health lately but um just uh the past few years um were not too nice to me especially after um I mean it's it I think it all started off um when I I lost all my grandparents on the same year. Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to hear that yeah it was it was honestly devastating I like first I lost my grandfather then my grandmother on the same month and then later that year my other grandmother passed away and um I just became this bitter like person that would just get into arguments with people and um whether it be online or in real life it made me less approachable pretty much and um I like I I get it I get it.

SPEAKER_03

I had a hard time hanging out with people during that time feeling yeah it's hard it's and a lot of people don't really talk about like the the what grief in entails in like going through that and it it's it's really tough.

SPEAKER_00

Very indeed um like um I still um gladly I still see them like in my dreams it's like um it's like they're still with me but um they are it's still like uh I'm I'm over the grief now but um it feels like I'm starting a new life now and um now that I'm like um in better health and um it's gonna be my fifth year in voiceover I'm I'm booking more often and um I'm being more open and uh not to mention near the end of this year I'm turning 30. And I hope all goes well because so far it's gone well.

SPEAKER_03

Yes oh my gosh yes of course like honestly I know they're they're they are definitely with you and um they are so proud of you. I just know it I feel it and um thank you for sharing that um as well um it's it's definitely like uh something that needs to be talked about more and and um and I just love like that throughout it all like you you still keep going and you keep pushing and you're like authentically yourself no matter what and um I really do uh appreciate that and I I really um I um admire that about your your qualities uh as a person and I'm so happy and grateful to have met you and um been joining you on this journey um as a VA because it is not uh easy so yeah that's uh amazing you are amazing thanks so much I remember seeing your posts I mean on like uh Twitter and uh your your posts were just so are even to this day so full of life and full of joy and sunshine it's just like um it puts like everyone in in a good mood thank you thank you that that that um thank you so much I really appreciate that like um stop it I'm gonna cry um it can get us emotional too let's get a little something um more up B so uh what other hobbies do you like to do um besides our I know you're artists I know you're a voice actor artist so what is something like maybe surprising that we don't really see much from you or haven't um seen uh from you at all or just something that you like to do like for fun oh there were some hobbies I used to do but like um not so much anymore um uh there was um well uh there was some times where it just would kick around as soccer ball as a kid but like uh that kind of um died down a bit uh since the pandemic hit um but um um but um if any other thing I could think of I can see the oh I think I you can see the toe doll back there. Um if anything else sometimes I just uh sometimes I like to go on nature walks and um um even though um uh even though I I can't really drive so I just walk sometimes is there a specific place you go when you'd go on your nature walks um just some or just random places just some random places specifically like like parks where um you can see ducks in the pond it sounds so peaceful yeah um but also um probably one of the other hobbies I do feed them I do um rarely sometimes um well usually in the usually in the um the ponds that are just filled with ducks I would um I would feed them yeah and um the other um the other hobby um I do is um perform covers on my YouTube oh yes I did see um one with um um um it was uh almost like not almost there Princess Tiana um thing uh I forgot what cover that was from um Disney oh yes um uh when we're human uh and um I got this I got this thing as uh Louis and that's not yes uh when I was listening I was like okay not see oh I listened to it more than one time oh my gosh so tell me about the process of that when when do you like know like oh I want to do a cover on this like do you just do you like search for stuff do or do you just like um think about it and then you're just like I w I I want to do that today.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes um I just uh look at a song um from like uh something and um it catches my attention and I think of potentially I'll cover it and uh sometimes I just look back at um films I've seen years ago in my childhood or my teen years and um or even like um my first time seeing it um I'll just um years later I'll just think of like you know what I think I'll cover this song and uh the thought of of covering Princess and the frog um came to me as Lewis is like my favorite character in the film and Princess and the frog's like my favorite film as well. One of my favorite films be coded um if he was nicer and more musical yeah and um I got to do like yeah and I and I got to do like another song um like um earlier this year um for uh on the like uh for last month on uh Black History Month but also um uh on the day of uh Mardi Gras and um I got to say and I I sang this uh this other song as Lewis which was like a which was a song that was originally for like um that was just a um a song sung by the cast of Princess and the frog and um I covered one of the songs that um that Lewis sang and it was like pretty much the songs just by Lewis.

SPEAKER_03

And um it was suggested by a few friends since um they liked my when When We're Human covers so much and you give it like a collab uh yeah I mean like um When We're Human was a collab but uh this other one I did from last month titled uh I Was Born to Blow This Horn um it was just a solo song and um just to show off my um my saying voice a bit more yes and um and um I still doubt myself insane and people were just like speechless and amazed by my performance why do you doubt yourself I just uh I just uh sometimes uh don't think um my voice is as strong sometimes or or like uh it won't be as accurate as like the original for what I hear inside but um I feel like um I'm just my own my I mean like um this happens to a lot of people but like um pretty much um they're they're you're your own your own worst critic yeah that's true yeah and um that is great and then like I love that the fact that even though like you you feel like that you still try and do it anyways and it becomes amazing so and then I was wondering so where do you see yourself five years from now where do you where do you would like to be where would you um like to your future self where do you see what would you tell your your past self as well uh five years from now um for my past self I would um I would say um um uh uh to uh take things slow and um um talk to more people and um if you really want to do this uh voiceover thing um I suggest to uh keep watching the stuff I I did from like um my teen years I mean just as a fair warning you might um get flustered over Pete I love that and then um so do you have any tips or tricks for the ins aspiring voice actor anything that um you wish you would have known when you first started out or anything that um that would help you or anyone out there for the um aspiring voice actors um I would s uh it's uh gonna try my best here um oh yeah take your time anything at all even if it's like something small you know I would say just um go ahead and get out there and and do it if if this is really something you want to do um just give it your best but also like um well give it the best and forget the rest like um well as in like uh as in like a as in like send it and forget it's like uh sending out a a resume to like a job pretty much right right and um the more you book the more doors open and soon you're gonna take out that aspiring and voice actor and just become voice actor yes that part right there guess what um I remember seeing that a long ago um someone said you're not aspiring you are a voice actor if you're going out and you're doing this you're working hard at it like you are putting in the work you are a voice actor no aspiring you are I love that I felt aspiring back in the late 2010s but I just I just uh felt the the confidence that I was a voice actor as soon as I started going professional and um um but then I started to fully accept it probably a couple years ago at least yeah sometimes I just um you sometimes I just feel like um yeah because like um you're gonna experience like um imposter syndrome yeah I mean you you you might experience imposter syndrome or probably likely because like a lot of voice actors go through it. Mm-hmm like literally I think maybe yeah right and it's it's just like it's just like I don't know why it's like that like why do we like it's it's something with the mind we just like uh and and we we it's like we try to challenge our ourselves so hard and and push ourselves so much and I feel like that's good to do but also at the same time we don't even compare ourselves to anyone else but ourselves because um we are not them and um they are on their own journey and we are on ours and and we're we're actually doing this together and um I feel like banding together especially with like AI and everything coming out um I feel like it is like the but the best thing that I love from this community is that we we we love we stay how we feel. We put it out into the universe and we're there for each other and like I've met so many amazing people just like just from you know just talking and Just being ourselves and um and it's it's it's hard it's crazy that we we do like our mind is like that. But I feel like at a at a certain point like um it's a way to we can just like spin the narrative and be like man, I'm we're we're here, like we're grinding together, we got this together, and like it is whenever that creeps in, it's always good to like have that mindset of like that I've come so far from the beginning of when I've of when I started to now, and you know, and you never know who's watching you like during your journey the whole entire time, and it's really like a big self-discovery thing, all that good stuff. So uh yeah, the imposter syndrome, it I feel like it it's man, bump and pause her syndrome. We got this. Y'all got this out there, we all got this, and um everybody will have their ha get their roles and everything in due time. So I feel like everything happens for a reason. So yes. We're on a little tangent.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, one time you um you go through uh imposter syndrome, um you um it goes away eventually and confidence builds back up and you're at the top of your game.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, for sure. And so, with um a little a little fun on the side, if you were a superhero, um, what kind of superpower would you think you would have?

SPEAKER_00

Um, funny enough, I made it I made a superhero that was super. Funny enough, um, I did make a um a superhero that was based off me as a child uh years ago. And he just had and he just had like um energy-based powers, but um pretty much the character was me, but like um I decided like to bring that back this character, I just um instead of using me as it's gonna be like a a different type of kid. Um that's uh I mean a different type of person of color kid um that uses energy powers and uh has a different name and uh slightly different personality and um just an all-around different person.

SPEAKER_03

And he uses energy powers, so like he uses like um electricity, or was uh how does he use the powers? I'm so cute.

SPEAKER_00

Um well it's um it's uh it's hard to explain. It's it's like um a mix of like electricity, solar power, it's just like uh it's like um plasma or something. It's it's um something like you see out of like um like um out of like the Pokemon games or Dragon Ball or something.

SPEAKER_01

Oh cool. So like that's a kind of inspiration.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's you have to outfit um I did uh give him this outfit that was like um uh yellow with a red cape. And um it was kind of based off this children's book, this children's book I've uh read back in like uh first or second grade. Um but I made a few adjustments. Oh cool. And um when I have this final version out, um he might have the same outfit I I used from before, but uh all I know is cause gonna it's just gonna be a completely different character.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Cause like back then it was just me at 10 years old as a superhero.

SPEAKER_03

And that's where it all begins. Uh I'm excited to see the see it. And and is the the hair a certain way a little steepy. Um do you have like a little bit, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um still like uh debating on it because like um I'm still kind of thinking I should dye my hair at some point. Um, what color? But uh I was thinking like because I like this color so much, purple.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes! Like the whole thing purple or like purple highlights?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I was thinking the whole thing purple, but I'm I I gotta find some time to like uh look for some guides and stuff on how to do it.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Cause you want do you want it like um like a deep purple, light purple, violet?

SPEAKER_00

I was thinking like a like a like a deep purple is probably like my vibe.

SPEAKER_03

I could definitely see that on you.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes, um, I could kind of see that in my um my sona as well. Except um my Sona currently has like dark hair like like mine here.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

And um for the uh for the character um as a superhero, um, this character um I think has like shorter hair or like almost like a fade, even. Oh I'm still debating on the hair scalp, but those are like one of the two options.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That'll be a showstopper for sure, but either one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03
