Hi there, everyone! Welcome and welcome back to another episode of Dweave City with your host, me, Star Jackson. Today we have a very, very special episode. We are featuring a dear friend of mine, but also voice actor, writer, project director, um, project creator, potentially, video gamer, streamer, podcaster, and so much more. KJ Burbank. KJ has been known for his sense of of of personality, of always being true to himself, always talking about what's on his mind and just being so authentic, so awesome, and so in my words, and our story RD words, so bright and shining amazingly, especially in the voice actor industry. In this episode, we talk about all things voice all things voice acting, as well as his his trials and errors during voice while being a voice actor. Um, some tips and tricks, and also some things that he might have cooking. Um, some things or two he might have cooking. We also talk about some fun stuff on the side about hobbies and and just yap about a lot of things. And I'm so excited to have um KJ on and to show you guys uh his personality and show you guys a bit of who he is. Um, as always, uh thank you so much for listening. And without further ado, without me yapping on about it, let's go ahead and talk to KJ. Hey guys, what's going on? And welcome and welcome back to another episode of Dween City. We have a very special guest in the building, Dog Lover. Um, loves the voice acting, of course. Um, is a content creator, streamer, you name it, he does it all. And also, my friend KJ Burpey!

SPEAKER_07

Oh, hello, you you got you got it down. You got it down. I'll tell the audience what I was just telling you. I like starred out. We got Star Hoodie, Star on the Eye, Star on the Hood. Um, yeah. I was not prepared for it.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I was I'm so happy.

SPEAKER_06

I was so I was too prepared. You know, it's it's it's crazy to be the interviewee.

SPEAKER_07

Like in comparison. I usually do the interviews, so it's like I speak both sides of it now. And I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh! How has it been doing um the the podcast? It's wait our I forgot. Wait, don't tell me wait, actually, um cut it out! Cut it out! Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got it, you got it.

SPEAKER_06

That has been you know, it started. I was so scared, right? The first the first person I had on was Sir Palo, and you know, I've been watching his stuff for so long, and when he's like, Yeah, sure, I'll pop on. I was like, oh, for real, like for real.

SPEAKER_07

This is for real, we're for real to this. So I like I had my friends with every question. I was like, okay, is this good or is he gonna like, is that what you got to do? Is that right?

SPEAKER_06

And eventually over time, it's been like way better, it's more chilled out. Um I I I really want to get some more cool guests on, and I have some stuff in the works.

SPEAKER_01

Um I've always I know you're always keeping busy, always like I I admire that about you.

SPEAKER_05

No, don't don't don't it's it's just ADHD, that's all it is.

SPEAKER_10

Help me! Yeah, help me, help me.

SPEAKER_06

It's uh I I did take a little break from from cut it out for a bit just because I had like audio files delete and I was like, technology's too hard, technology's too hard. Um, but it's coming back, it's coming back. Trust me, that's I can't give an exact date when, right?

SPEAKER_07

Just just someday.

SPEAKER_00

That I honestly feel that because it took me a while to actually get the this podcast going, especially because like of my really bad anxiety of actually doing it was like always in the way of that. So like I I definitely get you there, and then like having it organized and stuff like that, and um and wanting it to I want it to be consistent, like post at least once a week, and then I felt like I don't know, I was like in my own head thinking I don't know if I can do that or be able to do that, but I want to do that, but at the same time, it's good to have something to and just put it out there, but at the same time, I like structure, so there's just like a whole bunch of stuff in my head, and then I was like, you know what, this year I'm just gonna go ahead and do it and rip off the band-aid.

SPEAKER_06

I'm so glad you did, because that's that's so fun. We we have a lack of like we have Vikram who does um over voice or over the mic. Oh yeah, he does an interview podcast, but like other than that, you don't really hear from the indie voice acting sphere a lot of it. Right. And I like to stalk uh our our peers. I like to see what we're doing. I was watching I was watching like Patty's interview with you, and uh I was watching all of them, like Dante's and and Sean. Um, but Patty's for sure because we both started in the exact same Sean Mendem class.

SPEAKER_05

Um yeah, it was it was really cool to see to see him in there.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, so that's so cool. I know, yeah, I've seen you like you and Patty are close, and I'm close with her too.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I also the best.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't even know she did DD for that long, like 20 plus years. I was like, I don't even know the slightest thing.

SPEAKER_06

It took me like a long time to learn she even did cosplays, and I'm almost like, you know what it makes sense?

SPEAKER_02

It makes sense, it makes sense.

SPEAKER_06

It like correlates together. It does. Like you you you can always tell someone's a cosplayer, you know? Yeah, yeah, it's an energy, it's an energy sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

Um I used to be like uh I don't know if I'm a true cosplayer, because some most of the time I get stuff off of Amazon. But then um now I'm starting to like thrift and actually make stuff, so I don't know. And it's like, am I, am I not? But I feel like anything, if you just try it, you are that, so exactly.

SPEAKER_06

I I tried to when I went to Fan Expo Vancouver earlier this year, I like planned before I'm like, I'm gonna make a mud kip cosplay, because how hard can that be, right? Like you just do the ears and you do the tail, and then you just fill it with like stuffing and you're good. No, no, no, that's like that was the hardest thing I ever did. I like I had just a lump of like blue, and I was like, okay, this isn't working. I'm this isn't working, I'm just gonna get like a a Charmander hoodie because this just isn't working at all. I admire like cosplayer so much, especially if you're like making it on your own, because that is so difficult to do. Um yeah, I think it's a good thing. Especially so much. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, safe.

SPEAKER_06

I'm cheaper for like AliExpress.

SPEAKER_08

I can't!

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, I love that place. And they just take forever to get to you.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I think this hoodie is from there. I don't even know like what the words say, but we're locked in a it look cool. It looked cool.

SPEAKER_01

For real. This is like it looks cool.

SPEAKER_07

Hopefully, it's not like a lot of people bought it, so I'm assuming it's fine. If I can't read it, no one else can read it, right? So it's fine. It's fine. It's fine. I hope.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, I love it. Also, how did you get started in um VO?

SPEAKER_06

Yes. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's time.

SPEAKER_06

So it's time. Okay, okay, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Alright.

SPEAKER_06

So I was a young boy. No, um, I I always thought that like my end, like, end game, like my destiny would be Broadway somehow. Like little Canadian boy dreams being on Broadway. Um I was like, dang, I have a lot of time on my hands and I want to act now, but like what can I do? What can I do really? Um and I I realized how remote and accessible voice acting was. So I started with like a Logitech gaming headset. It was broken. Um I had like an open room with my bird in it, and I was like, I'm just gonna record on like Casting Hall Club and Backstage. Um and I found Sean Mendem's class in uh the voice acting server, uh voice acting club, and we just did like I think it was four weeks, um, one class per week, and we all just gathered in a big workshop, and he like taught us how to get in, how to like how to act, how to kind of like the basics of a voiceover, and that's how I met Patty.

SPEAKER_00

Um How did you find out about that? Were you just like watching cartoon one day and you were like, huh? I wonder what made you want to go into like looking for lessons.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, uh I just okay, so I started on Reddit because I'm Googling like a voice back from home, and then they're like, yo, you can get auditions on this site called Voice Acting Club, and I'm like, alright, bet. I joined that, and then Sean, like the day after is promoting his new workshop and is like, Are you a new voice actor? And you you want to do like a workshop? And I'm like, this is too good to be true. And I'm like, Alright, whatever, I'm gonna do it anyways. Like, I don't know if this is like a voice acting scam, like a common thing that they did. I'm just like, true.

SPEAKER_01

So it had that really actually worked.

SPEAKER_06

It did, and it it was one of the best decisions I've I've like stayed in contact with him since, and he's just like absolutely fantastic. He's he's great. I recommend uh meeting him if you ever can or doing stuff like that. Um but yeah, so I I wanted to do Broadway, and I was also like, hey, if I'm doing acting, I'm making connections like through voice acting, and then you just go up, because you know you have so many voice actors who also do Broadway, like Christian Borley, uh Jonathan Gruff, all these people. But over time I was just like, dang, voice acting is a lot more fun than like theater and how like I enjoyed it, and then I eventually like eventually I'm like, dang, I forgot how to sing. Uh because I haven't kept singing at all. And I I recently had someone ask me for a singing sample, and I was like very humbled, very, very humbled. I voice acting is where it lies, okay? We're we're not doing broadly anymore. That's not that's not what we're doing.

SPEAKER_00

Singing, dancing, and acting.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, we're not doing that no more. We're we're sitting we're sitting in a booth and we're talking, or we're we're standing in a booth. That's that's the most you're getting from me.

SPEAKER_00

I bet you could hold a little note.

SPEAKER_06

Like a uh because the Canadian, like the voice acting in Vancouver is all like kids' cartoons, pretty much. Oh they want you to be able to sing a little bit, like to like hold a jingle, like or because like kids' cartoons are always singing for some reason. Yeah, that's true. Like we're breaking in a song. So I I I'm gonna have to learn. I'm gonna have to learn. We're we're gonna figure something out.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, you can get a coach.

SPEAKER_06

I could, I could. And that's that's what I've been like looking into doing. Um it's just it's so hard to find one. It's so hard to find one.

SPEAKER_00

It's hard, yeah. Especially someone who can like who can really like hear the differences and like can break down it's hard to teach like to singing per se. Like with like um instruments, it's pretty easier because you can like read notes and stuff like that, but you have to hear the tone of the mu of the singing and then matching it and then explaining that. It's it's a little it's difficult.

SPEAKER_06

Especially with like you have to find a a singing coach who can help you as a voice actor singing.

SPEAKER_02

Like we're we're going like we're going like all the way up here, like how am I supposed to sing in this voice?

SPEAKER_08

And it's like it's like this thing in character too. So it's like it's just a whole lot of it's it's yeah, it's it's something we gotta figure out.

SPEAKER_06

I gotta figure out.

SPEAKER_00

Um I can't wait. I can't wait to see it. I'll be like, I next time I'll see like a project the year, and I'll be like, I knew it! I knew it.

SPEAKER_06

I remember, I remember, I remember I met him when he couldn't sing. I met him when he couldn't sing. Where were you?

SPEAKER_00

Where were you? So, um, so um to continue the lore. Um, so uh you went on Reddit and then you went to the workshop, I met Patty, and then after that, was that when you realized like, oh, I want to like keep doing this, or um, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I after that it was like a whole lot of trial and error. Um It's like, what am what am I doing? Um Casting Call Club now now I don't like I still recommend it, right? But it's like it's it's it's you know it's a slippery slope. Like I I'll you know, yeah, it's it I will give it credit for for helping me at the start of my career because I don't know where I'd be without it, right? Yeah, yeah. It's like one of the best resources for when you're starting out. Um and I just I was pumping out audition, audition, audition, and eventually I landed like my my first role there and it was paid. And I was like, okay, maybe I can maybe this is like something I can do, right? And then I just kept going and meet people through that. Um and then I recently signed with my agent, and I'm about that.

SPEAKER_00

It looks like I look like you were traveling, right? To go see this.

SPEAKER_06

So I'm um Okay, so I'm in Victoria, which is just like an like two hours out from Vancouver.

SPEAKER_02

So like it's not far, and you know, just I mean it's just easier to tell people I'm from Vancouver, right?

SPEAKER_06

Like, yeah, I look um and I was like, I I reached out to to agencies and I reached out to Red, which is the one I'm with now. They they've just cast for so much stuff I I grew up watching, and he responded. I did we did like we talked a bit, and then he's like, Alright, so you wanna come meet at my studio on like Friday? And I'm like this Friday, right? And I was like, um you sure? And then we we booked it. Um I took the ferry out and we met, and I was like, I was scared because uh like I've never done an agency interview and there's no resources online to prepare for it. Like I swear, nobody, like everyone gatekeeps it. Like no one tells you what's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_03

That's true.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and I'm quickly about that. Okay, all the all the resources I'm seeing are like from in-person actors who like on screen, and that interview process is so much different. So I'm like, you know, I'm just gonna have to wing it and we're gonna hope for the best. And I I wore like a red shirt and I was like, You can't go wrong!

SPEAKER_01

Like, red, red, so cool.

SPEAKER_06

They're there's studios on like an ocean dock, so you're on the water. Um and like the building's like tilting as you're you're in it. Um he was telling me that like some actors get seasick um just being in the street. Oh wow, but I got to see like his in-person recording studio that they use sometimes. Um just oh so cool. Yeah, it was so cool, and it was such a massive step. Um and I'm I'm just you know, I'm still like a baby voice actor, so it's like this is like this is where I feel like it's kind of starting to ramp up, and I'm like, oh, I'm excited, I've been wanting this for a long time.

SPEAKER_00

How does it feel? Because um you started in 2024, right?

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. Uh yeah, yeah, around there, like 2024, February. Uh and you when you start, you kind of have the mindset of like, alright, I'm gonna be with my agency next year. I'm gonna I'm gonna be with I'm gonna be recording in studio next year. I w I wanna I have all these goals, I'm gonna make memorials soon. Yo, you gotta be patient. It goes Yeah It goes well. It does not go to plan. Like it goes fast, but you need to like wait. Like you need to you need to like you realize that it's like the more you wait to perfect something, the sooner greater opportunities will come. If that makes sense. Like it's gonna take a long time to learn, but once you do, everything's gonna start moving, like I'll be a bit way too fast.

SPEAKER_00

Like Yeah, I was gonna say that because um that only wait, it's 2026 right now, four or five, six. So two only two years.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, two years and that's like faster than a lot of people I've I've met too. So it's like it's really you you gotta it's a long run. It's a long run.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's yeah. And and um is there anything that you feel like that was different about your journey besides like it going faster that may have gotten it to where it is now, you think, or that is a good question.

SPEAKER_06

That is a good question. Um I think honestly, and I think this is like kind of like not the answer that most people are gonna want, but it's really helpful that you should learn as a voice actor is marketing um in social media. Because when I started, I was posting every single day, like I don't know who I thought I was. I was posting like voice acting advice, and I had like one casting call club role.

SPEAKER_10

I'm like, voice actors, remember, remember to stay hydrant, remember, you need to like who are you? You you've like the rule isn't even out yet. Who are you?

SPEAKER_06

That like I was like following everyone, interacting with everyone, but over time you start to get the credits, and then the people that have followed you are like, oh cool, like you actually you've got to be like, No, what you're saying, yeah! Like I'm yeah, I'm not like an AI bot infiltrating space. Um and it's you just gotta post like semi-frequently, uh making content has helped a lot to like the I'm a voice actor, da da da.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes.

SPEAKER_06

It's like you just gotta like get yourself out there is the biggest thing because in the indie space, everyone knows each other. Like you hear it a lot and you're like, yeah, I know, but like no no. You like I've met someone and two years later I found out they're best friends with like another thing that I met. It's like you you just you never know. Um and if one person knows you and they're like telling you about like telling about Whoa, telling others about you Let me relax Telling others about you It could like be a year until they reach out to you like it's just post, just post, just post if you can.

SPEAKER_00

Cause I remember um I remember you you posting about um about something where it was like about the good thing about rejections is like um they sometimes they'll come back like a year later and then pick like I think we're w I I'm I don't know if I should say it now, but I think I know what you're talking about because the same thing happened to me around the same time you posted the stats.

SPEAKER_06

I can't even remember when I posted, but I can't remember when I posted, but if it did, then I'll then we are I'm so glad to move with you if we didn't.

SPEAKER_01

I was thinking the same thing, and I was like, are we in the project together finally?

SPEAKER_06

Hopefully. Um but we like we have worked together too. I mean, oh yeah, we did um um uh I want to talk about that for a second because there was something so upsetting that I just learned recently, okay? Oh, I have the lore, I have the lore, I have the lore, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so I'm gonna get explain context for people confused because they're probably like Okay, oh yeah, yeah. So mean me and Star and like a bunch of other people, we voiced like dubs. I don't know, are you still working with them or is this like No Okay, me, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I can feel like I ran, I ran for the wind. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

It's we were voicing, we're dubbing over these cartoons that are 3D and sometimes 2D. Um for a big channel, like a big, big channel, they had a couple million. Um we're voicing like one to two a night. And we're like, our deadline's like you have two hours.

SPEAKER_00

Like Yes, and then if you don't submit it, they will at us in the in the main channel. In the main channel, it's like public humiliation.

SPEAKER_08

Hello? Like I'm like, okay, I'm sorry, I'm I'm sitting in the house.

SPEAKER_06

I'm sorry, I just I just broke my leg, but I'm going to the booth right now. I'm like, we're like, okay, good. Yeah, so that was we're voicing for that. And again, another thing It's so stressful. It's stress, but also, I guess we don't get credited. Like, fuck, I guess we don't get credited. Like, I guess, I guess, sure. You're getting like I think the most viewed video had like literally like Yeah, we're pushing like I don't even know, maybe this is dramatic, but like over like 10 million for a video or something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And it's like, no one knows who you are. Like it's you get a few messages where it's like, is this you? But like we're not getting credited. Um and the pay's a little nuts. Um, so be careful with like brain rot channels like that. Be careful. Um it is really good experience to learn dubbing, but just just you know, like it's yeah, I do stuff to learn it. Um, but just long term, just care for your health over over everything else and like your your mental state of voicing kids' brain rot.

SPEAKER_00

Um because you start realizing like at some point I was like, I don't know if I like I want to record that. Like some of the stuff I'm gonna do. No, I know I'm not recording that.

SPEAKER_06

And for kids to watch?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

It's like I at one point I'm like, damn, I'm a I'm an actor, this is what I'm doing. Like, so that that's that. Like now you guys have context of what we were doing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um they deleted all the videos. I was going back and they deleted, I don't know, I have no clue. I I was looking back and I'm like, where are all those videos? Because like I was orange, I was orange, and that was like that was a big rule for a lot of the videos. They deleted it all. And then also, what about the Timmy Timmy animation? Timmy animations is gone too. We all just got new. I don't know where we're gonna be.

SPEAKER_00

It's like if it never existed!

SPEAKER_06

It's like, what is happening, guys? Uh I'm sure you're not losing money by just keeping the videos like out there. Like And it's if for for the Brain Wat is still up, but guess what? Okay, so they do a 2D cartoon channel as well. Like, you know the one I'm talking about, right?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

That's on Amazon Prime now.

SPEAKER_07

That's on Amazon Prime now!

SPEAKER_08

We could have been on Amazon Prime for taking me back to take me back. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I uh we did 3D, like we I only did like one or two 2D ones, and maybe it's on Prime. I don't know. But what are we doing on Prime?

SPEAKER_08

Really?

SPEAKER_06

Like, I don't okay, so if you voiced for the 2D ones, there is like a 90% chance that you're on Prime too. So that was something I learned. That was something I learned, and I was very shocked. So I guess died at the sacrifice of Amazon Prime Brain Rot.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, I gotta go check it.

SPEAKER_06

I I say go check it out later and like watch the episode C.

SPEAKER_01

Buddy, by the way, if that's true.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, hey. I know it's brain rot, I know it's brain rot, but like guys, please, please, please, it was it was definitely interesting for sure. It was, yeah. It really was.

SPEAKER_00

And and it was very like high pace. We would we would have to do record like multiple scripts per week and then have it out on a certain like uh the same day almost.

SPEAKER_06

Like sometimes even like I'm recording, and then it's like four hours later they drop it in the morning, and it's like Yeah, I'm getting this through the audio engineer to the director to the YouTube poster. How are we doing this?

SPEAKER_01

How do you guys live?

SPEAKER_06

How do you live? And it's like five and they post on multiple channels too. How is this?

SPEAKER_04

Uh uh I don't get it.

SPEAKER_06

And it's like actually high quality work too, which you wouldn't like to expect. It's like uh actually good. And um, yeah, it was it was such an experience, and and then the scripts they give you, it's like they give you a certain amount of words that will not work. It just won't work.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, especially when you're matching it with yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

One second, one second of screen time, and the script is like, and then I was walking down a long dark hallway and then I saw you. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_08

What do you mean, please? Please. Can I slow it down?

SPEAKER_06

Like, can I cut words out and it's like st uh it's just you end up sacrificing like the acting just to be like, and then I walked down dark dark hallway, and then I saw you, and then I walked, hey, hey, hey, yellow spokey, hey, what's hey Spooky? Like I can't breathe. It's a constant state of like dissociating when you're recording. It really is! It's like Right, I guess I did it. Like I I guess I guess that's done. I'm going to bed. Like, I recorded those.

SPEAKER_00

And then you wake up and then there's more lines waiting for you.

SPEAKER_06

It's like, okay, now I gotta report record for um a a salt and pepper shaker, I guess.

SPEAKER_08

Great. Like great.

SPEAKER_06

This is the light. This is so this is like if you're a new voice actor, you're gonna have to go through like a period of this, like, most likely. Most likely. And I think it's such good character development. This is how me and Star are so like locked in, right? Like we've drama bonded through Spongebob.

SPEAKER_00

I will I love our scenes together. It's so good. I remember like the screaming scene um with the with the girl that like is a a microwave. Yeah, microwave.

SPEAKER_07

Microwave.

SPEAKER_00

And then they've killed you, I guess.

SPEAKER_07

The brutally murdered star.

SPEAKER_08

I and then I Oh no It was so good.

SPEAKER_06

And it's like, wow, okay, again, uh what is like okay, the kids are watching this, but like, what is their emotion right now watching Orange Sprunky microwave your head off?

SPEAKER_02

Like Oh my god, this is awesome. This is awesome.

SPEAKER_03

I wanna watch it again!

SPEAKER_06

Mom, mom, look, do you think like a kid ever cried to their mom that like he died? I'm sure that happened. We're like really long.

SPEAKER_00

I always wondered because I've been seeing like the little um they have like little plushies and stuff. I didn't even know that was a thing either until I saw it on TikTok. I was like, oh, that's a character eye voice. Like playing with them. I didn't even know that.

SPEAKER_06

It's like we're we're like little brain rot toys, and like I I think that like we're one of the biggest um brain rot, like chimpanzee bananini, like a brain rot kind of voice like matches. Cause like those videos did well. Like they didn't know.

SPEAKER_00

And I think he was they were from like um another the country for sure. I think our director, he didn't speak um English uh pretty much like that well, and so that was a little bit of a a barrier too, but um it was it was really, really high pace.

SPEAKER_06

It was it was it was something, and I I you know what I don't regret it. I don't regret it at all. Like I genuinely that was so much fun too because there's some scripts where it's like it's just that's where you get to have fun because it's like it's so dumb that I'm not gonna put this on my I'm not putting this shit on my side. Like I we're gonna be killing people on my site. So I'm just gonna have fun. Like, you know what? I'm just gonna have fun. There's nothing I'm losing. Until I had like a message being like, are you orange Sprunky and Sprunky just murdered all his friends?

SPEAKER_00

Like, uh and it's so funny because your voice voice is so distinct and you can't. It is.

SPEAKER_06

I can't escape it.

SPEAKER_01

Like, no, no.

SPEAKER_07

I'm Timpancini Bananini. I'm I'm I'm trippy troppy, I guess.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I'm sure guys, but you I can't escape it.

SPEAKER_01

It's like, is that KJ? And you're just like, uh no.

SPEAKER_06

Checking the server, I'm like, great, great, okay, so okay, so we're in this together. We're in this together. Because you was like, there's like big actors voicing on that too. Like, at least when I was, I was noticing notable people in the in the sphere, and I'm like, okay, you know what? Right. You know what?

SPEAKER_07

We're all making money. Right. Right. Hey, we gotta eat. We gotta get experience. I'm sure this will pay off down the line somehow. And it's a good storytelling.

SPEAKER_00

I remember the the scene that um we did because the scream, I literally got that from you. I used you as a reference because you have like iconic screams, so I was like, I want to try something. And I love how we bounced off each other, and then I was like, oh my god, I I had to like um screen record it and save that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I remember you posted about it, and I was like, this is just so like a high energy. I love it. And it's so cool. I didn't know that you like studied my scream for it.

SPEAKER_00

We're similar, but also opposite, but also the same at the same time.

SPEAKER_06

We're our voices blend really, really well. Like, I'm I'm editing something right. I mean, something's in the works right now with me and Star's voices, and uh and it it sounds really good. I'll I'll send you a sneak peek later because I was showing some people um the the the dog skit. That's that's all I'm gonna say. Yeah, to be continued. But we we play off at each other really well, and it's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

It's like we feed each other like more energy and more.

SPEAKER_06

We're like little goblins.

SPEAKER_08

Like, more, more.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's like it's nonstop, and it's uh I love it so much.

SPEAKER_00

Oh we we definitely have to like like do like a project together where it's just like that full like it I feel like it'll be like similar, like Tom and Jerry, but like Oh my god, you're so right, you're so right.

SPEAKER_06

That would be so perfect. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, okay, that's a goal. I'm putting that on my another.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And um, I also uh wanted to talk about um um um um oh yes! Um, so when you first started, you you never showed your face. No. And I thought that was wonderful marketing. Because on top of your amazing voice and voice acting, you were also mysterious. And it was so curious to see who you actually were. And when so whenever you would post, I'd be like, who is he? And then you like looking up more. So I was wondering, did you use that at like was that a tactic, or you just was like, ah, I just didn't feel like nobody my face?

SPEAKER_06

So it was like a mix of both. Um, I'll admit, like, I I didn't think it through that hard, but like, you know, like okay, this is a terrible reference, but like dream, you know how it's like he built everything up to his face reveal? So it started off a mix of like, dang, I low-key don't want to show my face because like yo, okay, when I started, like even now, I was like, okay, no one wanna see this yet. No one wanna see this yet. Um, I started off animating, and then I'm also like, hey, if I'm showing my voice to an art piece, like a fictional character you're seeing, um, then you can kind of picture how it sounds connected to maybe your character if you have one similar, like you know, I'm like my avatar is the most basic, it's just me as a cartoon version, and it's like that's most of the characters I play too are just like just like nerdy guys. So if you can see that my voice aligns with something like that, and you also you remember an animated character more than like a face. But it got to a point where it's like I okay, if you are a faceless voice actor, it's definitely possible, but like it's n it's gonna get to a point where it's you should show your face. You should um I used to attend workshops and not show my face. Um and a lot of advice I get from coaches was like, you're you're gonna have to show us your face because I wanna remember you. Like I wanna like I need to know that like you're like a real person. The real person. Yeah, and also it's it's professional. Your agent's gonna need a headshot. Um if you're going to conventions and events, you're gonna need a face that they can use. Um and I guess some people just said it comes off as unprofessional.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't agree because I was the Facebook voice actor, and it's like you I still have to do it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, but I still worked on like notable stuff while doing that. Um but it got to a point where I'm just like, okay, I need to show my face. Uh hold on, I'm also gonna turn on my fan. Um yeah, no, it's not. You can't hear me. No, no, you're good. Um it got to a point where it's like, yeah, it just makes more sense for my career, and also I don't want to be faceless anymore. I like I don't want to be faceless anymore. Um because I also had like people being like, oh my god, maybe he's like fine behind the screen. I'm like, no guys, no, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_07

No, no. I I'm show my face before anyone gets like high hopes, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, fangirls and everything. I voice on like horror projects sometimes, and the comments that you get on those projects are like the nastiest people that you don't read them, KJ!

SPEAKER_08

Why are you reading them? Because I like it It's like the comedy they're like Oh my god, all the way you gotta peek.

SPEAKER_06

Sometimes you just gotta like Yeah, I I I always read the comments of stuff I'm in. So it's like you hear it's like, oh my god, the blue murderous bird is so hot sounding, and it's like, guys, no, no, please, please, no, please. I don't wanna catfish, I don't wanna push your face. I'm gonna then it also opened like more cut like content opportunities as well. Um I really, really wanted to do the I'm a voice actor trend when it was popular. Um but no, I I I kind of revived the trend. I don't know if you noticed that. Like I did it again like like a year after its relevance, and then I started seeing people do it again, and I'm like, Do it again! That's what I'm talking about. We're fine. Um we're fine. I was like, that's what I'm talking about. Like I revived this trend.

SPEAKER_08

You're hilarious!

SPEAKER_06

I saw like big voice actors doing it again, like like recently after I posted mine, and I'm like, uh-huh, you didn't follow me back. You didn't follow me back.

SPEAKER_00

I've noticed that too. Like when you post, it blows up. Like I've seen like voice actors from all over the the sphere like um interacting with you. How does that feel like when you post? Does it feel like really like heavy on your shoulders? Or is it just like whatever? Like, I got this. Like, how does it feel?

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna I'm gonna use this as another PR training moment to some people. Um Alright, alright. Here we go. First of all, first of all, I was a little suspicious about a recent casting call that came up um relating to a very popular company. Um Disney. Disney posted a casting call on Twitter. Oh, and I posted, and I'm like, guys, I'm a little suspicious. Like, why are we posting on Twitter? I've just never I knew people who were like auditioning for them daily, and it's like, okay, first of all, everything's kind of union. Like, and then we're like, why are we casting through Twitter? And then also, like, it was just weird to me. And like, you know, I was suspicious.

SPEAKER_00

Same! I didn't I did you audition? I didn't ask you.

SPEAKER_06

I'm a Canadian, I couldn't, I couldn't like it go and I was like, Okay. Um I didn't Yeah, it's it's I I I shouldn't have done it.

SPEAKER_04

I shouldn't have done it.

SPEAKER_06

Uh I posted and I'm like, guys, I'm a I'm a sus. And uh and then I I go and I vacuum. I start vacuuming my house, okay, right? I'm like, okay, page by um I opened my phone. My dubbing director at Disney had commented. I it got like it was literally pushing like 10k views by the time I'd opened Twitter again, like an hour in an hour. And it was still ramping, and I was like, yo, oh no, oh no.

SPEAKER_10

And it was like I had vague tweets coming up, and I'm like, no, no, no, it's it's begun. It's begun. I'm like the next like voice actor drama, it's begun.

SPEAKER_06

I've been so good for so long. Hey guys, I understand it's okay to be suspicious of this, but this is like I've seen trust oh no, oh no, and then I joined a call, I joined a call with people later, and there was like a voice actor that in the industry, and they're like, You probably shouldn't have posted that, and I was like, oh god.

SPEAKER_01

So And in your head, you were just sharing stuff.

SPEAKER_06

I was just being like, I was just being stupid. I was just stupid, yeah. I was like, guys, it's a little sus. Like, I'm sus. I'm sustained.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_06

Me posting Twitter.com and then I was like, okay. It's I it's I've definitely got to a point um within this year of just posting like less, like a less, less off the head. Like less off the head, just dumb things, and like definitely not engaging in like Twitter drama. I had a time, I had a prime, I had a prime. I was like, I got I'm having my fair share of like little arguments, but like we've calmed it down and we've matured. Um because it's only fun for so long, and then you're like, we're just such a small community. Like, it's I don't want to argue with anyone and um and also people remember the thing, okay. So with posting and having like a lot of reception to that, especially with like Twitter and Instagram, those are my two biggest platforms. Instagram were on like 13k, and I'm like, I still don't fathom it. And it's it's a thing of like you always forget that people are going, like people you don't even know, like that are very high like profile, are going to see this and you don't think that's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I've I've literally been like I reck I got recognized in person at Fan Expo, and they were like, I you're like the Twitter guy, and I'm like God damn it! God damn it, I'm the Twitter guy.

SPEAKER_01

No, not even voice actor could arrive, man!

SPEAKER_06

And then I also have so many people like I joined a server with like a bunch of uh animators in the space, and they're like, You're the I'm gay guy from that one skit that I saw in voice acting, and I'm like, boom, oh man, oh man. It's it's great to be recognized. It's great, and it's like not a like it doesn't feel real.

SPEAKER_00

It's very surprising, right?

SPEAKER_06

I'm still shocked because it's like you've people that you've looked up to being like, I actually know you, and it's like you don't.

SPEAKER_00

Or if they repost anything that you have, like that really gets I'm like I don't do, I don't say anything, but um, I'll run across the room like I can't believe they saw my phone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but uh you know online I'm just like playing the game.

SPEAKER_08

We're oops, we're oops.

unknown

We're oops.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's it's so insane when you get recognized too, and then like you don't really know. Some people I've I've talked to um at con specifically, they're always sometimes they they tell me that they're afraid to even follow me. Or like one of like, I don't know. It's so interesting.

SPEAKER_09

I've never heard that. That is like a new level. Like, and you're like the least scary person I know, so it's like I was terrified.

SPEAKER_10

Star was so intimidating when I first met him.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I was so terrified. Right. And I I noticed, like, because like with you as well, my reach on on there is is pretty like decent um as well. And I and I don't really realize how many people see me versus like people who um follow me per se. So until I go to places like that or like even like outside like where I live, because I live in a small place, people recognize me that I've never met before in my life, and it's just like I'm like, how do you it's it's really like mind-blowing, but also a little bit scary in a way, but also cool.

SPEAKER_06

Because I'm I'm not PR trained, and then I'm like, once I I kind of my agency, there's kind of just like a a talk about like social media, and it's just like you know, it's like be careful, because like news sites are gonna use your your stuff that you post now, especially if you get like a big role, and I'm like, right, so I'm going through all my social media and I'm like doing like freaking stuff, and I'm like, I'm going back to 2024, like earlier on this, and it's like you see me talking, it's like I just got done recording in like a live like a live session for like four hours, and I was tweeting that in like 2024, and it's like you're not fooling anyone, no, you're not. When I was just starting out, I I would like tweet stuff being like, Oh, I just got out of like a four-hour live session. I am drained, I'm drained. Bro, no, you are you just recorded for like an hour. You recorded for an hour and you recorded an audition. You've not done a live session yet. You're not fooling anyone. Relax. So I'm like deleting all these tweets and I'm like, it worked to get me out there, but like sometimes I was just like straight up lying, bro.

SPEAKER_00

And I'll be honest, I was just straight up lying. Honestly, the the um what is it called? I think it's like something where it's called, like, where like um social media has this this way to wrap you in and like she wanted to keep you there, like the algorithm, and then it gets you to the point where like you're almost like obsessed and you wanna like post and like and like um what is it called where people are like on it all the time. There's like a like doom scrolling, yeah. Doom scrolling and and um being um a person that's on there online all the time or live their live their life on the internet, who lives their life on the internet, something like that. That's what it's goal, that's what the goal is for it to do. And like yeah, when I first got on Twitter, my main purpose, like my only purpose was to s find the community, because I went through from Bang Zoom auditions, and everyone was telling me download Twitter, the community is on Twitter, and I was like, okay, and then eventually I did, and then I I finally did it, and I that was the main reason. And then when I got on there, anything voice acting-wise, I get obsessed with. So when I saw that the community was on there and it was voice acting, I was obsessed with being a good thing. Yeah, like we can nerd out together.

SPEAKER_06

We had their father, because it's really hard to like meet voice actors or or see voice actors kind of anywhere else, like we discord. Nobody gets us like us.

SPEAKER_00

Like, how do you tell like a like you know your friends, oh my focus brite kind of wants to do they're like, Where can you talk about it?

SPEAKER_06

I I voiced I voiced uh um a little character, like a little character, cool. Yeah, yeah, cool. And then the other voice actors like send me the series now, send me the timestamp. I'm I'm the biggest fan. It's like see, thank you. Because it we're like a weird community where like we're all super passionate, and there's definitely a fan base for voice actors, yeah, but it's not that big. Like it's not like we're not on like on-screen level status, we're we're like the weird niche, like you have to be a nerd to know us. Yeah, yeah. Most people, because you're an actor, you don't hear someone say a voice actor, like most of the time. So it's like you gotta find the community, you gotta find it, or else it's really hard to be known. And unfortunately, like posting to Twitter and like Instagram has changed my career in that kind of way. It has.

SPEAKER_00

And then, but you don't wanna like be too obsessed with it because that's how I was, and then I had to come to a realization because I remember at one point I was on there for hours and hours, and I'm like, um, I'm I was spending more time on that than I was doing like being in the craft of what I was on there for in the first place.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, exactly. It's it's so like uh unreal to be like posting about voice acting, meanwhile you're not. It's like, yeah, I'm talking about voice acting, that's all I'm talking about, that's all I'm reading about. But I do not doing it. Yeah, like I could I could get a voice, like a life-changing role right now, and I'm just doom scrolling.

SPEAKER_00

Um definitely had to redirect because like I sub um I'm not um now it's the opposite. I need to force myself to get on there more. But um I'm glad like I have it's like sort of a balance now. So it yeah, the for sure. It's it can sometimes it can definitely swallow you up if you're not careful. Like it'll change it sometimes. The internet can change you into a person you knew never thought you into.

SPEAKER_06

That's exactly it. Yeah, and that's why I just say like definitely post, but be careful, y'all. And like I don't be like me. Don't even mention like Disney or big studios, just be careful. Um then you learn more stuff as you as you go from like other people, and it's like actually you shouldn't post about like studios you're a fan of, because then they might not hire you. And it's like, well, what what I've messed up? I'm blacklisted from everything. I I can't stop talking. Um so it's it's easy to get caught in the the posting trap, like you said. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And it's always good to be like authentic too, and just be yourself, like uh it's like that's what I did since day one, and I'm so happy um I did that because I don't know if you heard of Crispin Freeman. Yeah, he his his podcast. I was listening to his bo I listened to that like three almost three times. I'm like like by the book, and he always says like um if you like once you started posting and stuff, be authentic because you wanna be uh a rock star, not a pop star. Pop stars are always in the trending stuff, always doing what what's um what's going viral, and it's really exhausting and tiring to want to have to like meet up with that. As for a rock star, you you just yourself and people just come to you because you are who you are, and you don't have To force anything, and you know, it it's longer too, rest of the life type thing.

SPEAKER_06

So I was like, that is such a good way to word it. That's I never even thought about it like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's so um intelligent. I was like, you know what? Yeah, and and and it's hard to be yourself online too, because you know, you you you subject yourself to people who are you're going to get haters eventually uh if you don't have them already that aren't vocal, and you'll get the ones who are vocal. And it's it's a lot to have on one person, you know, like reading stuff about you, even though we shouldn't be reading comics.

SPEAKER_07

We should be reading like you do, and I'm not gonna stop, I'm not gonna stop, kiss on me. Kiss on me, kiss on me, I don't care.

SPEAKER_00

Like I read in brain rock comments, like some criticism I like though, because I'll be like, oh, I never thought of that before. Like, maybe I could do that, you know? And then there's one where just like play no play no hate, but okay, I guess.

SPEAKER_06

Shall I sure? Uh yeah, it's yeah. It's it's definitely like yeah, that that's I that was I can't believe how you word it. That was so good with like the rock star and pop star thing. Um and also like okay, this might be like a little a little shady, but like I I really do emphasize being yourself, especially in like the voice acting community, because Okay, I have a lot of friends who've done this, and I I've did it in the past too, but like no more hey voice actors post sometimes. That's all you're posting, and it's like, hey voice actors, eat eat green apples to get rid of mouth clicks. They're hey voice actors drink water. I've posted these things in the past. Yeah, same. After a point, it's like you just see tiring. Yeah, it gets recycled a lot. Like I've seen that like from three new voice actors since, and it's like, yeah, I know what you're doing, and it's but it's like how are we supposed to talk about you? Like when when we mention your name in like a call with voice actors, and it's like, have you seen this new voice actor and stuff? It's like, how are we supposed to describe you? Like it's it's hard to do that when they're posting just straight advice or they're posting like just what they do. Like, we know that you're a voice actor, and that's like a massive piece of advice I got was like when someone asks who you are, like for whether it's for like an interview for a project or it's like an agent or it's it's anything like a director, don't say I'm a voice actor. Because they know that's why you're there, right? Like they know you're a voice actor. It's just like you know, I I travel the world. I here are some of my passions, here's some things I like. Right. If you didn't know I was a voice actor, I wouldn't be here. Like I that's why I'm here. So you know it's just really important. Yeah, it's mixed in. Yeah, and G knew he gave fantastic advice. He's like, I'm known as the Twitter dad. Like, I'm known as the dad, and he he posts about his foods, and he's like, his food always looks so good, and it's that's how you know it's like like how are you supposed to no one can no one really goes that one voice actor, that KJ that only posts about hey voice actors, that that dude, he only like he the way he was talking about green apples was so fire. Like the the way he was talking about hydration, facts, facts. He's the most relatable guy I know. I I drink water too. We're gonna get along great. Like it's do something, at least have something that shows who you are a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, right. And then hey, Phyllis actor thing, it it's um, I can see like it is nice to do and like have fun, but you don't wanna like do it too much to where the point to where it feels like you have to be like like it feels like you you it's like a chore, like you're required to do it. And that like it stems from what like uh Christmas Brevet said, like you wanna like make it like if you think about it and you wanna post it, just post it just cuz, not because you feel like you have to to try to like you know fit in in something, and you know, listen to his thing.

SPEAKER_06

Like, oh my gosh, yes, he's like, I I know about him, I just I never listened to this gyms. I swear facts, like you're sick.

SPEAKER_08

This is really good. I've definitely listened to that.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's so insightful. Every single episode, and he's he's interviewed so many um um voice actors and really gets like gets into the nitty-gritty and details, equipment. Um he talks about equipment because he's really into tech technology technology stuff. Technology, yeah. Yeah, and he's really like it's just amazing. I I tell everyone, I remember when I first started out, um, I was referred to to listen to that podcast, download Twitter, and um and uh and take his class as well and to network, and that's literally I was like, okay, uh I wrote and then they would and it got me this far. So I'm like that's another thing with being a voice actor is like always taking advice, even though even if it might not work out, the advice specifically might not work out for you, just to take it and try it and see if it works, anyways.

SPEAKER_06

It never hurts to do something new and to explore a new route. And uh it's it's one like a lot of people are like, I really wanna do dubbing, but it's like I don't know how and I'm scared, and it's like then you gotta you can learn it, like you can learn it right now, you can like practice right now, you can take a workshop's like one of the best ways to learn it, really. Um, because it teaches you like the terminology and the beeps and everything, and um it's it's you gotta break out of that mentality of like I want to, but I'm scared, and just do I want to, how do I? Like it's like look at me, like philosopher poet, like it's like it's true, it's it's you gotta get over that fear fast, especially in this industry, because you you're really expected to do stuff last minute that you never could have expected, where it's like even when you're recording in the booth, they're like, Hey, can you try this voice or can you act like this type of person? And it's like you gotta be quick on your feet, you know? It's like or we're dubbing over the animation once it's done, um, just for like sound effects and you know, stuff. It's like, oh shoot. Okay, we're doing that now. Yeah. So you always gotta be prepared. No more fear. It's so hard. We're all anxious. So hard. We're socially awkward. Yeah. We're all probably bullied in like some form of school. Yeah. We're scared. We're scared. Um, but it's okay because the people in calls with you were as well. Right. We are all losers in like the most loving way possible. We are we are awful, but I love it.

SPEAKER_00

And but that's what makes us unique in and that's what makes us so creative and like outside of the box because you know, not everyone can think like the way we do. So I feel like all actors are a little bit crazy, at least.

SPEAKER_06

We're all yeah, we're all little nuts, and it's it's honestly once you get over the fear, you start getting to the okay, how do I get like crazier than this person? How do I get nerdier than this person? You're out nerding the nerd in a call. It's not even about like fear anymore. Like, I've I've been in calls with like directors, and we're just talking, it's like, you know, do you know this character? We're trying to reference that, and it's like, I know I love that show, I love that show too. The way that he does that is so funny. It's like, yo, wait, we're we're we're paying right now. Uh-oh. Like, we gotta get back to work. So it's it's re it's really of have fun. It's it's all it is. It's just we're all having fun with the none of us are judging each other on acting. Like it's just do it. We all do it. Yeah, we're we're all in our booth looking dumb. We're all like like yelling and screaming at the wall. It's it's okay. You could do the cringiest thing, and you'd still have people like dying laughing and like. Yes!

SPEAKER_00

And that reminds me, how did you come up with um like the animation? Um, I remember the first one that you did. It was like a voice actor animation. What what made you like you just woke up and was like, I have an idea.

SPEAKER_06

I have an idea. Um, okay, I I gotta like go deep in my brain. Okay. Um because this was a while ago, the first one I did. Um I think it was I genuinely think I was like either on Instagram or YouTube or something, and I'm like, these skits are so funny and they always do like so well. And it's like, how can I go? Oh yeah, yeah, I was faceless when I first did mine. Okay, so that's also why. There's a lot of trends that you like you couldn't participate in being faceless, and like ideas that you'd have in your brain for like skits and content, and it's like, how do I do this then? Um and also it's a way to like network with like and meet. I hate saying network, oh my gosh, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Meet you. It's a way to I'm the same way. I'm like, I don't like you.

SPEAKER_06

It makes you feel like like an office and it's like yeah, and it's it's also sounds transactional, but it's a good way to meet and befriend like animators because like I still talk with the ones that have like worked on the skits that I make, and it's like it's it's it's such a good way to meet people, and um yeah, so I I recorded that and home and it was just improv. It really was. I was just like, Oh no, what do you mean? I I did that. No, you can't, I'm gonna kill you now. Like, and then it's like I I edit it together and I'm I'm like, this sucks. Like, this this is bad. This is not funny.

unknown

What? Really?

SPEAKER_06

You thought it sucks? I uh okay, every single like skit or video I made, I'm I'm very harsh about it to myself. We're our own worst critics for sure. Exactly. So I post it, it's done, I post it, and then it's like boom on Twitter. I was like, boom, oh okay. Um it did really well, and then I'm like, okay, well, I can do a part two, and then I did a part two, and that went mega boom. Like that one did way better than the first one by like, I don't know, maybe it was like 7k likes or something like that, and I had like people I loved following me from it, and I'm like, okay, so this is the way, this is the method, and it's a way that I can like act, not only act, show that I'm acting to a character, uh two characters, because I voice everyone in it most of the time. Yeah. Um, a way to know who I am, a way to gain an audience, um, and a way to just like creatively express yourself, because it's hard to do that without like sometimes you just want to nerd out with people, and it's right. Watch my cartoon, watch my little cartoon. Um and it's yeah, it's it's just so fun. Like, I it's fun and I love doing I need to do more, uh, it albeit it's very expensive.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I was gonna say, did you did you find did you look for someone to did you know when you thought of it that you wanted somebody to animate it for you? And did you do are you still going with like the same person, or do you usually go with somebody else um for a different one?

SPEAKER_06

I go with somebody else for each skit. Um for various reasons, also like I like to employ like like people that give money to like artists that I love, um, and also meet artists that I love as an excuse to reach out and be like, hey, I I know you're an animator, do you want to animate for my for my skit? Um I've had directors animate some where it's just like they're really good like animators, and I'm like, hey, I I love your art style for this. And also it's a way to like not overwork an artist, and also to have variety because like what if one person doesn't like the art style of a specific video, they can still watch any other one. Um yeah, right? So I the first one I did was just with like a really close friend of mine, and I was like, hey, can you draw this? I have this idea, it'd be it'd be cool if we drew in there, like, yeah, sure, da da da. And then the next one I was like looking through TikTok, Instagram, and I just gotta watch like animated skits. Uh and then I reached out, we connected, um, and then it's just since then it's I've like made posts occasionally too, so people can comment their reels. Um But it's pricey, it's a pricey, pricey uh thing to do, especially since I'm not making money off of the skits that I make. It's just for fun and passion. And also like, if I am to make money off of it, it would be long term from someone finding me through it and getting a job. Like, like it's like planting a seed, you know, or it's like, um, I've had people follow me and then reach out a like a year later being like, your skit was so funny, my OC sounds like you in this one skit. And it's like, boom, boom. That's how you get it. That's how you get it. Boom. I made one dollar off this animation.

SPEAKER_05

But it's it's expensive.

SPEAKER_01

I'm picking up what you're putting down.

SPEAKER_06

I'm picking up what you put down. I recommend making skits to anyone who can. Um but yeah, it's it's very expensive. Uh, and I have to put aside a lot of money to specifically pay for it because the skits that I do are like a minute long as well. Yeah. Um so that's why they're in black and white, and that's why they're line art and like choppy, like, and they're so good. Yeah, it's we're not doing color. I've I've discussed rates of color and realized that is no. Astronomical.

SPEAKER_08

We're not doing astronomical. Uh, I'm gonna go homeless. Um we're not getting colored. We're getting it. Disney with the black and white.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, let's uh we're getting line art, and that's my signature style, guys. That's that's always been the plan. That's how it's because also if I do color now, it's like no one's gonna associate it with the old skits, and then it's gonna have a higher production value. So I'm gonna try and post to YouTube more, um, and then hopefully actually be able to profit off of them so I can make more. I'm not making them to make money. Right. You're never gonna make money off of content creation, really, because you just put back into it. I just want to make like cool shit. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I want to make cool stuff for people to watch and enjoy and like um hopefully inspire people as well. Cause I've seen people make like little animated skits since, and it's like, yo, that is so cool that you've like watched something and enjoyed it enough to want to do something like it, and that's like one of the highest compliments you can get is inspiration.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that is very true. Getting getting anything, say somebody saying that you inspire me to do this, and then like seeing them do it and like telling you.

SPEAKER_06

They like succeed from doing it, and it's like oh, the greatest comedy. I'm I'm your father.

SPEAKER_10

I'm I've raised you now. Like, go be free, be free. And they they start doing better than you. So okay, pull back, pull back, fall back. I will still be number one, but you can be a sponsor.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's literally how like it feels. It's just like heck yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm proud of you, like you're like you, like, like you've known them all your life and stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Like Yeah, it's yeah, we're like, yeah, I I'm your mentor. Uh I'm a PR manager. I I good post, good post. Yeah, I'll repost it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Have you done marketing or anything like that? Or you just no, like you just like you just watch and you observe and it's it's I was a very, very chronically online child.

SPEAKER_06

Um I have been online basically since I was like a fetus. Like I had an iPad when I turned like probably eight. Okay. And we shouldn't do that for our kids. Uh iPad kids! As a victim of the iPad kid. Uh I we should not be doing this to future generations. Um But I that that means I've Okay, like lore, here's lore. Um I've been viral on other accounts that no one knows about that's like faceless as well. I've had like yeah, I went viral when I was like 13 on TikTok, and I had like a video that blew up and got like a few million likes, and and I had like fan accounts, and so I it's it's it's just a matter of I've learned over time what does well, why it does well. Right and also like learning how to navigate apps. Um and it's it's I took a few marketing for voice actor like workshops with people where it's like they discuss how to market yourself as a voice actor, but like going through it, I was just like, dang, I already know half this stuff. I'm gonna do this all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Through experience.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so it's like I could do a marketing voice actor class. Honestly, I was like, I can make a quick buck if y'all want more skits. Yes. I'm very scared to do any sort of teaching. I I do not feel like I'm I'm ready for that, but also if I did, you already know. If I if I did like a little workshop that was like, even if it was free and I was just like the free workshop, nothing is no strings attached, just like teaching people what I know. You'd see someone post on Twitter, why are we letting voice actors? Why are we guys?

SPEAKER_10

Hey, I'm just noticing something. Be careful, vet your coaches, vet your coaches. We're letting anyone teach people now. It's like I'm I'm not getting involved. I need to have like I'm gonna be in Marvel and then I'll do a workshop and I'll still be scared.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I'm gonna wait. I've seen enough. I've seen enough. I've seen enough. And that's another thing of learning. You gotta read what's going on, what people are tweeting about. Cause like it's yeah, it's uh I don't know anybody.

SPEAKER_00

That is true, because sometimes like I'll be off for a long time, and then I'll come on, and then I'm like, what's happening?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, what is happening? Why are we angry? Um what like okay, who are we mad at? And we don't know because everyone's vague tweeting. We don't know. What is that? We're mad at the world.

SPEAKER_00

You make it's you gotta be careful because if you make like a regular tweet when something is happening, and then people are like, How can you say that? And then you're just like, wait, what happened?

SPEAKER_01

Well, that is true.

SPEAKER_06

It's good to be aware. It is. You can you can you could say something a little wrong. Like, I remember I said some I can't even remember, it was like a long time ago, but it was like baby's first like Twitter uh controversy, I guess, where I just I said like a typo, I guess. I didn't word something right. Um, and I was like, I can't remember, but I I said something and it just typed out completely like it's hard to retone through text, right? Right. So I like said and I was like in a praising way, and they're like, This is not something we need to worry about. And I'm like, oh my god, a Genshin voice actor just blocked me after voice acting for like five months. I've like, I it was when I was new, and that's that's why I'm very careful with what I tweet. Very careful.

SPEAKER_00

Um me too. Like, that's why I have so much anxiety posting. That's why it's hard for me to be online to post because that's a big reason why.

SPEAKER_06

I don't I don't think anyone blames you because I'm still scared and I've I'm still scared. I like since since that Disney tweet, I am terrified of like okay, so cool. I'm I'm blacklisted from Disneyland. Um Alright, cool, cool. Mickey Mouse has just blocked me on Instagram. Nice, but it's the fact that I had like okay, when you you blow up and it's the the amount of likes to views that that tweet had, like, I had a bunch of people liking it, but then I had like people from like Disney or like uh other companies commenting that weren't liking the tweet, and it's like, y'all, please, God, I'm sorry, forgive me. And I literally like replied to the tweet, and I'm like, guys, this came out a lot worse than I meant. I just want you guys to be careful. I just want you guys to be careful. Yeah, right! Still kept going, and no one likes your your little tweet at the bottom. No one likes your reply. And I'm like, alright, delete, delete, we're done, we're done, and we're never gonna talk about this again.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. It's so like nerve-wracking. It's like your heart is like bursting.

SPEAKER_06

It's absolutely terrifying, and the fear of tweeting does not go away. It doesn't. Especially when I'm posting like skits, because I'm like, I'm watching it the night before, and I'm like, dang, this is not funny at all. And then it goes, it goes and then it gets like a few thousand likes, and then people are like, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. And it's like, why do you lie? Why do you lie?

SPEAKER_07

I guess I'm funny. I guess I'm funny than it is.

SPEAKER_00

You just never know how it's gonna like how it's going to, what's the word? Like, react or like that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And sometimes you think it's like the funniest thing you've ever made, or the funniest tweet you've ever made, and then you get like two lines of the bleed bleed to I've embarrassed myself like that.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta work so hard on that. And then the ones that you're just like, you know, I'm randomly just gonna post randomly. It's just like boop, boop, boom.

SPEAKER_06

I'm from things like go viral, and then you're like, dang! I just spent like like a 500 on an animated like three-second skit, and then it's that does like poop, and then I I I post like it is sunny outside, and I get like a 10,000 likes. Are we serious, guys? Are we kidding? He speaks to me. He knows. Oh my gosh, Mike Peep, I'm so sorry. He's like, I sa as someone who sees the sun, this is the a correct tweet. This I agree with this too fully. It is absolutely sunny. You're getting my follower, like, and then you tweet about voice acting, they're like, Unfollower. I don't know who you are. You're not the sun guy. You're the sun guy. You're supposed to be. It's sudden, you gotta find a balance, y'all. You gotta find a balance. That's why my skits are always somewhat related to voice acting or content creating.

SPEAKER_01

It's so relatable. Oh my god. Thank you. Yes, it's like, oh my god, I feel that. Yeah, it's it's pain.

SPEAKER_03

It's just pain.

SPEAKER_01

It's pain. We all go through.

SPEAKER_06

It's yeah, I'm so glad that people related to that. I had like like voice actors that I'd like watched growing up message me being like, I relate to this still, and I'm like, no, you don't, but I really appreciate you.

SPEAKER_10

No, no, you don't.

SPEAKER_08

No, you have like five reels, but I I still I still appreciate you reaching out.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's it's so funny. I I also wanted to get into because you were you were very open um about being uh female to male, trans, and I wanted to get into that on how um it helped you in the industry or or anything that like you've been going through, how um what it's like um as uh being an LGBTQ plus.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, totally. Um it's it's it's okay. Um it's hard to answer, but like you know, a lot of people when you're gonna be able to do it.

SPEAKER_00

Or your experience in general, you know. Yeah, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_06

I do have an answer, I just try to try to word it right. But like Yeah, yeah, to When you start out, um you kind of get told where it's like don't mention this, like because people might like you have the the worry of like okay, what if there's like a homophobic casting director at like a studio that you love, which is like a real possibility that like you sh it's it's unfortunate, it's like devastating that it it is a possibility. And you I was told by like um people that I asked, or it's like should I talk about this? Like, because I I I want to express it, like it's such an expressive industry, there's so many people like here, and it's it's also it is important because as voice actors, like what do we bring to the table? What experiences have we gone through? Um and there's a lot of trans characters that are needing to be cast. Um that's true. It's it's it's very hard to understand what it's like. Uh and like the things you go through, the things people say to you, you don't know unless you you are like I transitioned very young. I was like, I started publicly just cutting my hair and like presenting as mail at like 14, 13. So I was young, young, yeah. And it's I uh I've gone through middle school and high school as like a trans person, and I've also been through middle school as so like uh people didn't know in high school, people knew in middle school, so you see both sides of it. Yeah, you can say like Hannah Montana, like oh, it's like like uh it's it's terrifying You could have someone that you've known for like three years and then they find out and then they cut you off. So you need to like you need to know uh the nuances of how people react to that, and then unfortunately, there's also um as voice actors we can play controversial characters too, where it's like we don't agree with them morally. Um but how do we portray that realistically? And it's like based off real people that you've met and know. Um so it's everything's an experience, and I think it's really important to mention who you are. Like we we we have to live life hiding who we are most of the time in like public situations and stuff like that. If in this community and industry, when you can share it, like do it absolutely, you're gonna meet more people. I've had like um I've had people reach out being like, hey, I'm I'm casting for a character, can you send me all the trans voice actors that you know? And it's like, yeah, we all know each other, so I'm sending over like lists, and it's like I'm being sent in these lists as well by other people, and it's like we're we're a community in a community. Yeah, I love that. Yeah, and it's it's just there's so many benefits to uh not only for your mental like health of being public about it if you're comfortable and like on your your stuff, but also it's just it's more about you, right? Like it's it's not your personality, but it's a really good glimpse into what you've been through, who you are. Um yeah, and it's it's it's really cool. I I love how loving the industry has been to me. Like I've I I was really scared, especially with like looking for representation. I was like, okay, this is like a now that I'm getting the chance to uh potentially work on union stuff and like record it in person. It's like, how do I is this actually gonna like okay? Indie is really easy to say, like the indie space was really accepting. I had no issues, but it's harder to be like, the industry though could be a lot different because there's little things in the industry you don't know. It's like it's like kind of a messed up industry, the acting industry. Um I've I will not lie and say that it's like a perfect industry, but um, it's just been absolutely wonderful. Uh it's no problems at all, and if anything, you're getting more opportunities that match you better as a person. Um and also ones that you just like there's a smaller talent pool for some of them, so you're low key like if you're casting for a trans male character in a project, you're not really like there's not a lot of other people auditioning for that role.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so it's like you have more than getting like a young fancy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So it's not that that sounds like so greedy, but you know, it's like it there's lots of benefits to being open about yourself, right? And it's just more stuff for people to know about you.

SPEAKER_00

That is so awesome. Oh my gosh. I love I'm I'm I'm happy to hear like it it's it was like not a bad like a bad experience in the industry, cause um or at least in the indie space, because um from what I've experienced as well, like uh the community is very accepting, very open with all c like all everything. And I've never ever experienced a community like this one. So I'm into Pride Parades and I've the the voice acting community is way funner.

SPEAKER_10

Like we are way gayer. We are we are really we really are such an open community, really, and it's like you kind of realize like, oh, we all kind of are a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Yes!

SPEAKER_06

So it's it's one of the most you don't have to feel scared at all, like it when you're in the space, like to talk about it. Because you if you grow up in a space and you've been like people aren't supportive of you, um you kind of have this mindset of like, okay, everyone's gonna think you're different, everyone's gonna think you're like weird, but no, like it's it's uh it really helped me relearn how the world treats each other, you know? Like when you're in when you're like growing up and you're you're getting teased, right? Like of course it would be, like, um you kind of think like the whole world's gonna be like that, and then you realize that it's like, no, really, that's just a little bit of it. Um my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

That was me in middle school, and middle school was really rough for me. Yeah, and like too. I I don't know. I I I hope one day like we can I don't know if it's like that now, but like maybe more like resources and stuff like in schools that can help kids. Cause through I feel like middle school, high school is like the hardest phases. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Even if you're not like part of like any community, you could be like the coolest thing ever. You're not like a it's you're gonna get bullied for anything, bro. Your shoes are tied. I will speak to I will continue, you cannot silence me. Um but yeah, you could have like an untied shoe, or you could be short, and you're getting bullied like your entire eyes school and you're getting called like the craziest things that you like you you could have never expected. So I don't understand it. I just the world is not evil, I promise. And like voice actors are a really good way to learn. Of course, we have a few evil voice actors, um, those who shall not be named. It's a there's a little bit of evil in here in this space, but like it's it's really such a beautiful space for people, and we're all awesome. We're all awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and such hard workers, everyone is too, which I I get inspired and fueled by seeing everyone's story and seeing like where they come from and where they are now, and like going through like the journeys together. It's like such a beautiful thing to me.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it really is, and it's like if you don't have passion, like only everyone in this industry has passion, like it, like no doubt. Because how can you have passion and love for something if you're constantly getting rejected and you're still going? Yes, that part really in it. Like, we're really in it and we love what we do. And it's like it's hard to be mad at like and mad when you're doing something that you love so much and you're bringing magic into it. And it's like you can't be angry when you get out of a recording session for like recording a puppy, right? Like, I'm recording a puppy that's like flying around on a magical train. Like, I I cannot be angry at the world. I have nothing to be mad at. Like even when you do get mad, you go back back to it eventually. It's like I I'm mad, I'm mad, but I'm I'm also like, what am I really mad at? It's like it's it's really getting over rejection um will be the biggest thing for you. Um it took a while. Like, I used to think that like rejection will always be devastating. Like I always thought that like no matter what, like every single loot role you lose, but it's like no over time you really just grow to be like, uh now if I lose a role, I'll still watch the project and see who got it and be like, Yeah, that's why they did that. That's what they went with. I didn't understand that thing at all.

SPEAKER_00

Or it's like Yeah, it truly was like the best fit for that character. And then like Chris is Revit uh says again, like, there's only one person, they can only pick one person, and the odds of that, like out of hundreds, like, and then and especially when you get feedback too, that's always like a good thing to hear. It's like you did so good, but like it wasn't fit for the part, but I have you in in my books, and I'll refer you. Like, that really like helps a lot too.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, it's it's awesome, and it's it's you gotta like kind of learn to love rejection in a way. Yeah. Sure, you'll audition for like a project that like is your absolute dream job in the whole wide world, and then that rejection will hurt. That'll hurt. I'm not saying that will hurt, but I'm saying like it's it's you get over it way faster, and then you you learn the like beauty of it in a way where it's like, we made it really far, even to just get the opportunity to do something like this, and now someone new hears me and knows who I am, my audition. Um, and again, it's the being reached out to a year later kind of mentality where it's like, hey, they might hit me up later, it don't even matter, they might hit me up later.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And even so, even if not, like I did my all, I did my best into it and growing and getting better.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. We just we're just having fun. So there's like that's why there's no anger really from anyone. I haven't had like genuinely a bad, bad experience with anyone in this case at all. It's it's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

And um, I wanted to see, because um you did theater while growing up, right? So did you do in an elementary school as well?

SPEAKER_06

Like super young or so I did elementary school, I did like a hell of a lot of stuff. I did uh sports, I was doing choir. Choir was like my number one. Um and then when it bled into middle school, I don't even think I had like Okay, I definitely did element like okay. Uh I don't think I did theater in elementary school, I don't think we had the program. But like in preschool and stuff like that, we did like plays and performances, and then into middle school, we did like actual professional, like like theater, like musical theater shows that like like people would buy tickets and come see. Um so I've been doing that. Like uh I did that in middle school, I did that in high school as well. Um as an adult, it's a bit harder to find like the time and also the placements that will take you in, because they're like they don't play. They're like right now, and I'm like, I don't know why I didn't I I everyone got a role when I was in school. Like we our teachers would cast every single person who auditioned. So even if you did really bad, you're getting like a small little roll, right? Yeah. They don't do that no more. Yeah, they don't get participation awards anymore. I'm not built for this. Yeah, it's it's a lot more pressure, and it's just like I don't think I'll I'll have that same enjoyment now that I've done voice acting and know like it's a lot more expressive. It's harder to move your whole we still move our body a lot. Like I'm I'm all over the place, even talking normally to you. Like, hello, hello, let me grab you. Um yeah, bring my camera closer. But um it's I I definitely want to do more theater. Um it's just hard. It's hard. Like we are our schedules are so trash and appreciate it. It's like we find out in like two days if we're go traveling out to Vancouver to go record for something where it's like I can't even I'm struggling to balance like my in-person job like mixed with like uh it's hard to to juggle it.

SPEAKER_00

Like uh and then you want to do more, you want to put more time into that, but you know, the bills still gonna gotta get paid.

SPEAKER_06

So it's just like exactly when you have like directors being like, hey, we're doing a promotional thing, we're gonna be doing a live stream for like three hours, and it's like, can you can you join three weeks from now? I don't know. I don't know, dog. I really don't know. We're gonna have to play it by ear. Like, I I I I'm gonna have to tell you the day before. Like I really don't I was looking at you at the interview. I'm so sorry, I like I'm so bad with scheduling. I was like, I don't know, I don't know if I can even like do this, but it's like we're good, we're we're set. So it's it's hard. That's why another reason cut it out has been a little bit of a challenge lately to to do. Um but I I couldn't be more grateful at the same time because to be busy um in the voice acting industry is to be working, which is a blessing in and of itself. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then um you're your family owns a museum? Yes, yes, you're how how I saw the I saw the picture and I was like, that is so cool.

SPEAKER_06

We've done like okay, so I have like here's a picture of our Yeah, and you know what is actually crazy? That like my family's met a lot of actors and people in the industry through dinosaur bones. Wow. Which is like a really weird thing, too, because it's like I guess actors just love expensive, like expensive self-effects.

SPEAKER_07

I guess you guys are buying it.

SPEAKER_06

We want a dinosaur bone! Yeah, right? So I've been to like celebrities' houses that I I won't even name, but it's like you wouldn't believe it.

SPEAKER_00

I saw the one um with you as a baby with Learn.

SPEAKER_06

And you're just like Yeah, it's it's it's so crazy. I had like a a celebrity offer to babysit me once because my parents were like going out of town, and I was like, yo, what is the world? What is what is the world? So I just want everyone to know I'm not a Nepo baby. If I could if I really locked in, I could probably be out there right now, but I'm I'm doing the hard grind. We're doing this. The hard grind. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How did your parents get into that? But they like, they're are they what is it called? Um, it starts with an A. Enthous. Paleontologists or artologists. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, okay. They're they're actually not like my dad. Um, he started with fossils when he was like very young, when he was around his twenties, and he met other people who were in the dino bone industry, which is kind of how you you get into it, right? Yeah. He didn't go to school for it. Um, but you like dig around the world and you're like finding fossils, you're putting it together, you have like a group of people working for you, assembling like dinosaurs. Um it's like yeah, just like it, it's we have a little museum here now. Um I sometimes I go in and I like help with the gift shop, but you know, again, it's like it's really hard to balance all of it together. Um sometimes they have me wear the the mascot costume for like events, and then I'm just wearing like a massive dinosaur outfit. I know it's hot in there. Yeah, yeah. Which is awesome. What a good stress reliever of like chasing people around in a dinosaur suit. You really realize how much you needed it after. You're like, oh, I needed this, I needed this real bad.

SPEAKER_00

Do you have like a little like air filter in there? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like dinosaur costume. It's like, it's the closest I'm getting to Disney now, because I guess I might be blacklisted, so like it's like the closest I'm getting to my mascot. Um, but it's it's like I it's a it's a crazy thing. No one really believes it at first, and then I've also met like animators who are like, hey, so I I had a friend tell me, you're the dino guy.

SPEAKER_04

You're the dino horse actor.

SPEAKER_06

And I'm like, yeah, I you know what? But the thing is, too, I've grown up in a family of like dinosaur fossil collectors, right? Like, oh like we have a things for bone museum. And when you grow up around that, it's like, yeah, yeah, I guess we I guess we just it's not normal to you guys. So it's like I always when people ask me like dino facts, I'm like, guys, I'm gonna have to like text my dad real quick. I'm not quite sure. I'm not quite sure. I I I it was an awesome brag as a kid because my family would do like presentations for schools. Oh so I get to be up there with my family and I'm like, yeah, here's me holding like a a mammoth tusk casually. I'm like, so it's it's genuinely one of my favorite things to to tell people because they always freak out and we're we're the voice acting industry, we're we're nerds. Um a lot of people love dinosaurs. A lot of people I need to be more locked in with that. I need to learn more facts because I have people asking, like, since they're nerds about dinosaurs, they know like the good questions toward ya.

SPEAKER_01

Well, like I just know their bones. Hold on, yeah, hold on.

SPEAKER_06

That's what that's not that's it's but it's giving me like the opportunity to travel around the world and dig um like in the world.

SPEAKER_00

I was just gonna ask you, yeah, do you go dig?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I do. I the recently in like 2023, uh was the last time I went out and I went to Wyoming. Um, and my dad knows someone who owns a quarry on like a big mountain, so we got to like literally dig up fossils. I digged up vertebrae of like a dyno, and you know, it's it's so cool. You get to travel. I love traveling, and then to dig up like bones, and it's it's really, really cool, and it's uh it's it's a lot of work. Uh work um but we we also offer things where it's like people can pay um our museum and then we'll take you out for a dig. Like you to our quarry, and you get to like dig too, and it's I wish I got to do it more often. It's it's a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_00

And um, what's like the most like memorable moment you had from um that you would you would think with like the dino just growing up around dinos? Anything that really sticks to you, your mind?

SPEAKER_06

That's that's a hard question. There's a lot, right? There's a lot, right?

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness. I can um I well, what is your I wouldn't know what's your favorite dinosaur? Dinosaur?

SPEAKER_06

I was so basic. I really, really love like duckbills. I think they're like so skilly. Duckbills are also triceratops, pterodactyls. Sabes don't count as they're not a dinosaur, but they're prehistoric, and I love them. I think they're the coolest. Okay. Yeah, they're oh my god, I just we need like we don't need them back, but they're really cool saber-tooth cats. I was about to say, we need them back. Oh my gosh, yes! Like they're really cute. They're really cute. And we have like um a skull replica of like a saber-toothed cat at our museum, and their teeth are just crazy. Huge, right? Yeah, yeah, and we have real mammoth like fur, like wool at our like thing. We have like dinosaurs. We have like we have one of the most completed T-Rexes ever traveling the world right now. Um wow. Yeah, called Victoria the T-Rex. Um Victoria. Yeah, exactly, right? When you when you Google it, you could see like she's traveling around. We have like some in the Melbourne museums and all this stuff. It's it's really awesome, and it's it doesn't feel real, you know. Like it I think the best thing of it was was growing up, like with that, because I was the coolest kid. I was the coolest kid. I was really the coolest kid. Like, like, hey guys, yeah, my family owns the dino museum, kinda. Yeah, yeah. Cool, yeah, yeah. So who wants to be my friend? You know, like who wants to be my friend?

SPEAKER_08

The line starts here.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, line starts here, and then you have like all the kids going on. It's like, yeah, yeah. And then they ask me a dino fact, and I freeze up. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I should have studied for this. That's my dad. That's my dad. I don't know. Speaking of excursions, I know I saw that you want to go to London. I do. I do so bad.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I originally was gonna go in May. I don't know if that's still happening. Um, but Sean Mendem's out there. There's a lot of other people I want to meet, like Sarah Nightingale, um Chloe Eves, uh Kitty Harrison, like uh all these incredible people that are in London. I have so many friends too, like my friend like Keen and Jim and like all these people. And it's like I want to meet like directors, I want to meet my friends, I want to meet like people I'm a fan of. Um, I want to go to London so so bad. Uh and if I do, I'm gonna be meeting everyone and and not shutting up about it ever. I've also I fell on my turbine. Okay, we're gonna hold on. Um we I'm like with Vancouver as well. Uh I realized how little people I actually met in person. Um since signing with the agency, um I've reached out to a bunch of voice actors um in this industry there uh and like with the agencies and stuff. And I'm like, do you want to meet for like coffee next time I'm out there? And they're like, I've already had people reply being like, yeah, sure, let's do it. So I'm gonna be meeting like lots of people, and I'm very excited and anxious about that. It's gonna be fun. I'll let you know how it is. Um but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Do you want to go to any more um places, like cons or anything like that? Anything like you've you've been looking forward to or considering.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna manifest something. I'm gonna manifest something on this. Oh, let's do it. Yes, be a guest at a con so bad. Yes, it's gonna happen. So bad. I I like I I hope so too. It's just like fan expo would be awesome. We we know like the people who own Fan Expo, and it's like Yeah, uh oddly enough, through dinosaurs, which is crazy, right? We were going to Fan Expo and I was like, I actually know the the owner of Fan Expo. He reached out and it was like great, okay, cool. I guess like I guess I guess then we got like a little tour when we got there. It was really awesome. Um so I definitely wanna con there. I wanna I wanna just like you know, I I just wanna talk, like I love stuff like this. I wanna talk to people about like like acting and what I do and like to me because I've had people recognize me at Fan Expo, so it's like that enough had me like beaming the whole day. I was like, you actually know me, that's crazy. And I take it for my feet. Yeah, right? I I get in this. Headspace a lot where it's like people follow me, but like do they actually know what I do? Because I follow a lot of people that I don't really like keep up to date with all the time, right? Yeah. So I always had this like kind of fear of like, okay, I I'm known, like I'm known. They know KJ Burbank, the voice actor. But like, do they know what I do? Do they know my work? Do they know like my content? Or is it just like a kind of follow because we're in the community kind of thing? So to actually know that like people knew I existed in that thing was like very shocking. Um I wanna go to MCM Comic-Con because I want to meet Tomska. I'm the biggest fanboy in the world. I want to meet some Ed's World people as well. Um I I yeah, I want to go to London. Um MCM, I want to meet like some of the Amazing Digital Circus cast because I've got to talk to some of them. And uh I I if you know Star, I mean Sky Reddit. I mean I keep mixing your names up, Sky Star. I know, like Star Sky. Sky is the sweetest in the entire world. Like, it's I love Sky too. Yeah, yeah, the voice of Ribby for people who don't know, and she's also in like.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I'm so happy for her.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I she's she's so deserving of that. I I want to meet like if they're doing like amazing gentle circus panels, I want to go out and meet her and meet like other people there too. And it's I just want to meet people. I just want to meet more people. And that was a big goal on my my goal list for this year was to like meet like a hundred new actors that like I haven't met. And it's like that isn't even crazy. Like when you when people hear that, they're like, a hundred? A hundred people for real? That's not that hard in the space. It's really not. Like when you meet one person, you're basically meeting five. Like, hey, let me introduce you to my friends. And I was like, okay, I guess, sure. So it's like I literally went to when I was at Fan Expo Vancouver, I was like talking to people in the artist alley. Um and I met this girl, and then she's like, Yeah, I'm an animator at uh like at one of the Vancouver like animation schools, like one of the big ones, and they're like, Do you want to come to our our parties? Right, I'm going to a party with all animators.

SPEAKER_07

Hello? I'm like a goblin here. Like, let's go.

SPEAKER_08

Hey everyone, hey!

SPEAKER_07

My business card just fell out of my pocket. No, oh no, no, someone's growing. Hello, hello, hello, hello.

SPEAKER_06

Guys, I swear I'm not like a I'm not like a goblin. I want to make real connections. Oh, oh, oh, let me let me get my phone out and my business card's just right on the screen. Like, oh, oh, what time is it? I can't read the time. I say I but generally just to be like offered that alone is being like, do you want to pull up to our like animation parties? I don't even animate. What do you mean? Sure, yeah. For sure, I guess. Yeah, so it's you learn, you meet so many people just from meeting one person. They like I showed them my Instagram and they're like, Yeah, you're cool, you want to come? Yeah, bet. Let's do it. And it's like that was a good animation school too. That's like um Wow Oh my gosh, this one of this is like Sekina or something like that in in Vancouver. And it's they they they're good, they're good. So I was like beaming the whole time. Yeah, it's you meet so many people, and I I just want to go to if I have the chance to go to a con, I'm gonna go. Like, I'm gonna go kind of.

SPEAKER_00

Yay! I will I will hope to meet you at one. I would love that. Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh, my mother. I want to do a bang zoom audition sometime too. Everyone's gonna do it. I just want to do it. I just want to say I did it, right? Because it's like everyone's done it, right? Everyone's done it, so I need to say I've done it.

SPEAKER_00

Um it's so amazing. Yeah. Once you get off stage, you're gonna be like, I can't believe I did it, but I'm glad I did it.

SPEAKER_06

And it's like MomoCon, that's another con I want to go to. Oh, yeah. There's lots of like creators there as well, and it's like I'm weirdly connected with like the creators in the indie space. I think it's because I make the animated skits. Like I've got invited to like these servers with just a bunch of animators, and it's like, yo, I guess we're all gonna meet, and stuff like that. And they're all like, we're gonna do this in LA. And it's like, guys, no. LA wait. Oh no, I'm asleep.

SPEAKER_10

Oops, okay, we're good. I rubbed my eyes.

SPEAKER_08

No, no, and then I start disappearing. Oh my god, I just killed Star. It's from the scream.

SPEAKER_06

I was so weird. But yeah, it's so I definitely want to go to as many cons as possible. If you want to see me at a con, people watching, people watching. Yeah, and my KJ. Recommend me to your local convention if it's not in America or US. Recommend me to Canadian conventions. Yes! Yeah, I I want to do snowbad. I think that would be awesome.

SPEAKER_00

What other goals do you want to hit this year?

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh, I have the list.

SPEAKER_00

Yes! Give us the list.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna give you the list.

SPEAKER_00

That way, when you manifest this manifesting, and it's actually gonna happen. I mean, it's already gonna happen anyway, so.

SPEAKER_06

There's been like so many tweets I've made where I've like manifested stuff into existence that same!

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's I'm like, it doesn't work, and then I was like, let me try it and see.

SPEAKER_06

And then boom. It's so embarrassing the first time because you're kind of like, okay, I'm low key like, but open mouth, I mean, closed mouths don't get fed. That's true. Exactly. You got it, and also I'm embarrassing myself every day. Like, uh, I'm just gonna tweet anyways. Yeah. We're fine, we're good. My goals for for 2026 were get accepted to a Canadian agency, boom, boom, um, go to a convention, boom, boom. Um okay, no more booms for a long time now. Yeah. Get a commercial reel. I haven't, but my agent kind of like made me one where it's like he had me record some commercial reads and then he just put it on their like database and collaps like put it together. So that works. Maybe I don't have to spend that much money. I'm so glad because I don't want to s I don't want to spend money on a commercial reel. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's expensive. Um they rack up.

SPEAKER_06

They do, they genuinely do, and it's like, if I don't need it, yo, I that's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Especially when like Yeah, no, no, you can That's literally we're like here. We're like locked in. Yeah, like especially when like you make one and then like you you outgrow it and then you have to pay to make another one. Yeah, it happened to me twice and it sucks.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and also like the only reason I wanted a commercial reel was to because everyone said you need one for an agency, which like you you definitely should um like 90% of them needed one. But the red is one of the the top ones in Vancouver, and they didn't need a commercial reel, and I was very shocked. I was waiting for him to ask. I was yeah, I was waiting for him to ask. I was like, oh god. But no, they just put it together for you. So semi-boom, we're not sure. Um voice in a project that's union. I really, really want to, really, really want to. Uh voice in a game that a family member enjoys. Um Okay, big manifestation here. Okay. Work with Tomska, Meat Canyon, Marco Cardenay, or Jamie R. Those are all animators and content creators. Um Tomska doesn't animate, but he's a content creator, and I just, oh my god, please, please, please. He knows who I am. I had a friend go to MCM and he had recorded a video saying hi. Um he was like, if I have anything, I'll I'll reach out. And I was like, please. Oh my god! Is that enough? I literally was like running around my room when I got that video on my thing, I was freaking out, dude. I was I was freaking out. I'm the biggest fanboy. Thomas Scott, I love you if you're watching. I love you so much. You never know. You never know.

SPEAKER_10

He might be, he might be.

SPEAKER_06

Um voice act for a Halloween prop or an animatronic. Um I did see that you did you're a scare actor too. Yeah, yeah, I didn't houses growing up. That was like like basically all of my like all of my life until I was around 12. Uh because COVID no no, then it would have been like 14 or something. It's uh I'm not sure, but we did it and we shut down in COVID. Um and we just didn't start back up again since. Um so it's I miss it, but like I definitely want to like be able to voice for a Halloween prop right on a trunk. I feel like that would be the coolest thing ever. Um and then also voice act for a toy, which I don't know how I don't know how people are voice acting for toys. Genuinely. I don't know if it's an agent thing. I I've I've been meaning to ask my agent. Because like, where do you audition for toys? Honestly, like my agent casts for like Hasbro and Mattel stuff, but only the like the animated stuff. Like, like it's like I haven't seen anyone voice for toys.

SPEAKER_00

They reached out to me. So I'm thinking like maybe they they have like a casting Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

I I saw your brats, it's like the coolest thing ever, by the way. Like suddenly like a Brad bad boy.

SPEAKER_00

Insane, insane. Yeah, but I think they they they pick a casting um director, and then they probably go and look and find someone, or they go through agencies too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe. I hope, but like I really want a voice for a toy.

SPEAKER_00

Is there a specific to toy or just any toy?

SPEAKER_06

Any toy, like a like a like any toy would be awesome. Kids' toys would be funny, just because like I I have a little nephew as well, and I'd like buy him a toy and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, that would be so cute. Um Yeah, right?

SPEAKER_06

The closest I've got to that is like a build-a-bear where you record your own message, but that that don't count. But I I okay, if I had to pick like a dream toy company, oh my gosh. No, I can't.

SPEAKER_00

And there's so many, too. There's so many. I can't. And your your voice would go perfect with like um maybe like a I would I'm picturing like a bear, like a little, like like I don't know. There's so many that you can you can do.

SPEAKER_08

I would love yeah, I would love to, guys. Hello if you're if you're a casting director. Hello, I'd love to. Yes, but KJ.

SPEAKER_06

Bear would be so cool, actually. I love that.

SPEAKER_00

Um my gosh.

SPEAKER_06

Record in studio, and and let me just say some. Let me just say some.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, let's see.

SPEAKER_06

Very, very soon. I'm allowed to say this too. Like, very, very soon I'm gonna be going to record in studio for the first time. Um I can't say what it's for, and I can't say like, but it's like I I'm allowed to mention that I'm going to travel to record in person. So I'm not gonna need NDAs. Please do not please do not hurt me. Like, I know that people on Twitter are gonna be like, be careful with your NDAs, y'all. I was watching an interview today and someone broke an NDA. I did not. I did not. I did not. I did not.

SPEAKER_01

I did not Oh, congratulations! Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

I'm so I'm going in person, and you know what's really stressful because I don't know what to wear. Um, I like a lot of my stuff is like I've I've been buying outfits specifically for when I start like going into the Oh you're like me.

SPEAKER_00

I do the same thing. It helps the performance. I swear it does.

SPEAKER_06

It does, but also like I wear a lot of jeans and baggy clothes, and that's gonna pick up on the mic. Um so I had to buy like actual like professional clothes that isn't loud. So I think it's a challenge. Um and I also wanted to be like, how do I like show my personality? Like but I I don't want to go in looking like business. I want to like be like me, but like not too unprofessional.

SPEAKER_03

Right, like a balance.

SPEAKER_06

So I've been like actually watching um a really good advice I recommend for people if you're like going in studio, you just want to learn what it's like um doing in stuff in person. Um watch YouTube videos of behind the scenes uh for recording for stuff. I love watching like you know, My Little Pony was recorded with like my agency cast for that, and it was recorded in Vancouver. Um I go on YouTube and I'm watching like all of them record in a studio and they're like in the same room. Lego Ninjago's cast in like Vancouver as well. So it's like I watch the behind the scenes of that stuff and it's publicly available, like you guys can do it too. And it's watching what they wear, um, their distance from the mics typically, their like the how they move their hands away from the mic without it picking up. Like there's a lot of little things you can pick up, like it's a lot of little things.

SPEAKER_00

Um that is smart. Yeah, that's that's what I do.

SPEAKER_06

And it's it's also just exciting because it's like, oh my gosh, I hope I get to be like in one of those videos someday.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes. And I saw you did directing too, like a little bit of like casting. I saw that too.

SPEAKER_06

I've done casting for it's uh like I okay. Um I cast uh it's my opinions on casting is like I I love acting. Casting is a little not my favorite. Um it's a different skill. I love yeah, I love recommending people for roles. Like I absolutely love that. It's and you know, that's how I got a really great connection through that was being recommended, and it's that's fantastic. I love doing that. I do that a lot. Like you'd be surprised at like how often as voice actors we have to recommend people for stuff. Yeah, even if they the project is done auditions, sometimes they still want recommendations, and it's like, alright, sure. Or they want people to like vet. Like sometimes they send me the auditions and they're like, Do you know any of these people? Can I get your thoughts? Um, so that's what's why you should be careful with what you post on on like Twitter and social media. Um, because if I see your audition and I don't know who you are, I'm gonna find out and I'm gonna go think I'm I'm seeing weird stuff. I saw people repost very proudly, um, not very um safe for work stuff, and it's like, okay, y'all, like you can you can be a free, like you can be freaky on like your private account, your personal account. The amount of artists and animators that I know that have alt accounts that are working on like professional stuff, but have like their own alt account for like you know, and as of like it's I know like it's like okay, you're you're like that's funny, but also like guys, we need to like not do this on like our voice account, especially if it's like their voice like type is really good for like kids' projects. That is like you need to be careful, you need to be very, very careful. Yes, you will not get hired if you like that's a thing too, is like even now I've done like recently I did a role in a horror game, and my lines were very like descriptive of like violence and stuff like that. And I I've I chose not to post about it because if I have a kid like casting director for like a kid's show, like going through my school and it's like yeah, you just talked about like murdering someone I don't want to do. Like, I don't want the kids to find that, I don't want the news to find that. Right, exactly. Yeah, so you gotta be be careful with with that kind of stuff. Um but casting, it's just really hard because it's like I'm busy, I'm busy, and it's like I'm going through and it's like I love I have ADHD as well, so we already know. I think everyone watching is like diagnose me through through the thing. Um so when I'm like doing casting directing, it's like okay, I'm listening. Another thing too, another advice is like a lot of people do the exact same read. A lot of people, and it's it's great how connected we are with our minds and like how we perceive writing. But it is very important that you change it up. And I got that advice a lot from like casting directors and like coaches when I was learning. I didn't really like I don't know, I didn't really listen to it that much because I'm like, well, my reads might be different. No, like guys, it really is like I was going through casting for an animated series, um, and I'm like listening through and it's like, okay, that's the same one as last one, so why would I cast either of you if someone else has the exact same voice but a funner like performance, right? Yeah. And it's like you can like some, yeah, it's it's it's really hard because it doesn't stand out, and you want to stand out because like your voice could be perfect, your acting could be good, um, but you can have someone else with a perfect voice and perfect acting. Uh you can have someone with a with who didn't have a perfect voice, but their acting was so good that it fit the character in a way that you could have never expected. That like that's what happened for one of the characters, and it's so it's it's kind of exhausting to like listen through the same thing if you have like over a hundred auditions for one role. It's like, okay, that's it, we're just doing that again. It's the same as this audition. And it's like, you know, it's kind of forgettable, and it's also but I also like when you hear those golden performances, you really like it's something like that.

SPEAKER_00

It sticks with you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And if you're a voice actor and you you get the opportunity to cast for something, I say do it just at least once. Because it helps with your acting.

SPEAKER_00

You get that outside perspective.

SPEAKER_06

You get you see what it's like in their shoes, you see what your your peers are doing, like you're you're seeing like what are you typically competing against? Um, and you'd be shocked. Like, there's like big name voice actors that are like their auditions were just like the same, like same kind of monotone, or just didn't read the character specs. Um, didn't read the scene. That was like that. That is very important too.

SPEAKER_01

That I noticed, like, read everything and like guys, please.

SPEAKER_06

I know it's like I know we're all bored and impatient, and I know that we've been used to be. I I've I've been guilty of it so it's like back to back, but like you sometimes like it's like a tiny thing, it's a tiny misdirection, and it changes.

SPEAKER_00

Knowing the story is so important and like and like it like so many reasons why it's so important to know what you're auditioning for, but like with the indie scene, and since we a lot of us we record not in a live session, when you're in a live session, you like it's explained to you because we're all trying to save time, we're trying to cut costs.

SPEAKER_06

But like um when you're doing it remote on your own time, and they sometimes indie directors, because none of us really know what we're doing, right? Like we're we're just basing off like with industry, they have writers, they have people who know who to do this stuff. When it's indie, it's like you could have like some guy who it's his first project ever, and they're gonna write a lot of stuff, and like albeit a lot of it's unnecessary information for us at least. So it can feel overwhelming to read. Um so I understand why some people skip through, but like you you really shouldn't. You really like do not do that. It it's it shows. It shows that you don't know what's happening. Um Yeah, so casting directing is is really it's I'll enjoy doing it. It's just like I don't do it as often as I could. Uh just because it's it's difficult, it's really difficult. Um and it takes a lot of time. Like you're like a minute per audition, and it's like if you're getting a hundred, that's like an hour of just one character, and then there's like 12 characters, so it's like you're guys. I have my own job to do. Like you have short lists, and then you have to do like callbacks sometimes, and it's like you can write box out. They expect the casting director write the docs lots of the time. So there's a reason casting directors is its own job, um, like in like industry stuff. For indie stuff, we kind of just do everything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, thank you for that insight. I remember when um I did um I did the the mic giveaway, like I think last year. I think it was last year. And it was I was experiencing the same thing too. It's crazy how like our our minds are sync like that. We think the same thing for every like set our each or the the the specs that we're reading. It's just it's really interesting. And then you get that one where it's just like pops out, and I feel like cause like they put their own their self into it and their experience and their own spin to it, whether it be like pre-life or anything like that, that I feel like a good way to to help with that is like think about the first thing you would do if you s if you read it, and then see what you can do to not like make it different and make it your own. I I usually I do that when I read an amazing thing to do.

SPEAKER_06

It's it's like one of the best things to do. And it's yeah, because it's it's almost like most actors are playing just a human, like they're playing like a human for the first read, where it's like you're just playing like the average Joe. Like, what would the average person do? It's your first read, it's like you haven't absorbed the text, and a lot of the time when you're cold reading your first read, you have to use that for like especially for like in-person sessions and like um like uh in on calls and stuff, you have to like cold read back to back to back to back. So it's gonna be your first read most of the time. Um you gotta learn how to like change it up, like get like that energy in there, and then you realize how fun it actually is to just be fucking weird. Because they can always dial you back, right? Like they can never exactly. So it's like if I'm doing something crazy, I'm doing just like it doesn't even match at all. They're like, okay, relax, but like you're in the same zone, and it's like, okay, so now I got an idea. Um that's uh it's so much fun. I I yeah, so so casting is its is its thing. Um I just don't want to I don't want to take away jobs from casting directors who who would enjoy it more, so I to like recommendations if I have the chance to recommend people. Um I'm too scared to open a roster because I I know there's also I've seen Twitter discourse where it's like um be careful yourself to uh what have you cast? What have you cashed for? I guess I can't even say I can't even say what I've cast for, it's not out yet. Um you don't have to apply to my roster. Just believe me. Either do it or don't. Like do it or don't. Um but I I also I don't think I'd open a roster because I want to know like personally, each person I recommend. I want to know like how you project. Yeah. I like to personally recommend people, so that's that's that. Um Morgals is oh, okay, there's a few more I'll quickly read out. Um voice in a VR game. I want to voice in a VR game. Yeah, like that would be such a blast. And it's like I have a VR headset, so I'd just be like up to myself and be like, hey. That would be trippy. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, it'd be like oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, right? And I think that's like so cool. You don't you don't really get like I don't think I've ever gotten an audition for a VR game. Ever. Like in like the two, three years I've been doing this, I've never got like I've never even seen one. I've really never even seen one. So Yeah, same here. Yeah, right?

SPEAKER_00

I wonder, maybe because they go through some maybe they go through something else.

SPEAKER_06

They probably go through agencies because they're like that's a lot more production to make a VR game. Yeah. Like you gotta have a team. So I'm assuming it's probably an agency thing. But like, meh, I don't know. If anyone sees one, send it to me. That'd be fun. Yes. Um get a live action ADR credit. Uh oh. Um, kaboom.

SPEAKER_02

Boom.

SPEAKER_06

Um it's for I'm allowed to say it, there's there's no contract or anything like this. Um I got to record for for a live action ADR thing, which is so much fun. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I'm allowed to talk about it, y'all. I'm allowed to talk about it. Um but yeah, it's it's just not fully out yet. So I'm not gonna say the name yet. But when it is, I'll let you know it's it's so it was very hard. You know, like very hard. I've I've done another level warmups. Yeah, I've done anime dubbing warm-ups, I've done an auditions and like um workshops and stuff, and it's like that is so much different. You gotta like, bro, you gotta look at their lips and you gotta run.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly, too, yes.

SPEAKER_06

Why are we chewing? How am I supposed to do this, y'all? How anybody's panting, you gotta pant to their neck, like their movement of their neck is like. Oh my gosh, yeah. Animation's so much easier because they just so much hard.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, animation.

SPEAKER_06

They don't want to spend money on animating lip sync. They're just going to be like, yeah, so it's it's so easy. It's so easy. It's not easy for live action, and especially since when you have to speak faster to get the full line out, right? Which happens a lot for people who don't do dubbing, our lines are typically longer than the like what the other person's saying, because when you translate it, there's more words that get added in and context.

SPEAKER_00

Um And even animation, like what animation dubbing is hard.

SPEAKER_06

Well yeah, like it's all like everyone knows we've done it, but like for for like a 3D animation, um it's you'd like still like it's they still have lips and like they still have like in cartoons and stuff, they still have lips and it's the timing and it's it's really out of balance everything. So live action's a whole new level, it's a whole new like a challenge to do that. Dang, it was fun though, because you really learn where it's like you never really have to replicate what they're doing with their lips, like when when it's just like a cartoon, but when it's a person, you're you're learning more acting stuff through doing it. Um that was a lot of fun. And then I have a few more, and then I'll finally be done this list. I have and or meet 100 new voice actors. I was telling you about that. Yes, on the progress to that. Voice act in any capacity for a dream indie studio, like glitch, chocolate chip animation studios. Pymations, Pymations, please! Yes, Pymatians! Like, oh my god. If I ever got the chance to like voice on Ed's World, the thing is, I like Oh, I want to try to get Matt on for like um cut it out, but he's just he's just so busy and stuff. I'm I'm still trying. Um I want to like I want to be on Ed's World so bad. Anything, even just like one second, because I I again I grew up watching that kind of show, and it was like what introduced me to indie animation as a whole. Um Paul Tervorde, I love him so much, he's one of the best animators like I know. Like I I I don't know him personally, but my first animator ever. Like my favorite, favorite animator is Paul Tervoard, who's genuinely incredible. If you don't know him, you gotta check out his stuff, he's amazing. Um the last one's just like avoiding overworking myself and taking on too many projects. Because like last year, and like I'm still so new to this, right? Where it's like, yeah, credit matters, but I've got to the point in my career where it's like, okay, now I can actually be selective with what I want to do, and like you can always be selective if you're a new voice actor, by the way. Like, please be selective. Yes, don't be like me. Don't be like me.

SPEAKER_00

Um it's always good to know what you're you're go getting yourself into, and you can decide if you want to do it or not. Like exactly. You don't have to accept every single thing that comes your way.

SPEAKER_06

Please don't don't be like me. Like I had this kind of mentality where it's like if I'm consistently booking, consistently working, then I'm getting better, and then I'm posting all the time, but it's like, no, it's you drop in quality like with your own performance because you're just so overworked or tired, yeah. Tired, you're you're taking on things that necessarily you don't like you don't really feel passion towards. And it's like if I don't if if an indie director is like here's the thing, here's my kind of like mindset. There are thousands of thousands upon thousands, like millions of voice actors, right? So if a director's coming to you specifically, and like out of this whole world is coming to you, and they don't know each other personally, like it's very it's a big thing of trust, and it's also like an honor, it's a huge honor, right? And it's it's like you chose me out of anyone. So if I'm not feeling the same passion and I can't bring what I know you need and deserve to your project, then I don't wanna take that away from you. It's not right to the director, it's not right to anyone who worked on the production. If I if I can't like give my love into the project, then it's not fair. So I want to do stuff that like I I firmly believe in and that I I really have a connection to or passion to. Um and that really rebounds with acting.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And it makes it even like the performance better when you actually like Yeah, I'm I'm trying to give my best to everything, right?

SPEAKER_06

So if it's like yeah, it's something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, uh and you're almost done with the list, and we're like what, four four months in of almost five?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, oh my gosh, yeah, and it's Wow, I it's it's really surreal, and I I I knew to be a little less hard on myself because last year, like my 2025 goals was. Yeah, it was like five it was like my first year as a voice actor, so I I made my goal list, and I just I had too much expectations for where I'd be at the time, which is great to have like a a shooting for the stars kind of like mindset where it's like you're yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's like to be ambitious is what we all need to be in this new space. But it's like I I was a little too hard on myself for not being there when it just wasn't actually like humanely possible to be in that spot yet. Like I was like, I want to have my reels, I want to be with an agent, I want to be traveling, I want to be like all this stuff, but it's like it was not possible at the time. Like I tried, it wasn't possible. And it's like no one, like I don't know anyone who's really gotten an agent in their first year. Like I it's it's like a lot of work and it's a lot of trust and stuff, and it's yeah, I even I struggled and I have like these credits and different stuff. Like I struggled to like uh get a response and like I had to still work for it, and it's you know, it's like it's a lot of pressure still, and and I know back then if if I was getting these opportunities, I would not be ready. I was like so it's take it at your own pace and and don't be hard on yourself if you can't get these like crazy goals that you want to do.

SPEAKER_00

And it's so rewarding when you actually get it from doing all that hard work.

SPEAKER_06

So Yeah. Like just take your time, take your time. I know we all have this like mentality of like I need to get this done immediately, and then I'll be famous, and then uh and then I'll just like you know, it just just you know, even you could voice in a project and like two years later it'll go viral from like a random stuff. You never know, yeah. Like I've like the Genshin cast didn't even know that the game was gonna be popular, they thought it wasn't gonna be popular. Like I've heard interviews of like actors on Genshin saying that like when they recorded it, they didn't think it was gonna be popular at all. And now it's like the biggest game that everyone wants to be in. Um That's crazy. So it's yeah, it's like when you just just go at your own pace, do what you want to do, uh, and don't be hard on yourself at all. Yeah, yeah. To have fun. Because if you're being hard on yourself and not having fun, why are you doing it? Like, we don't have to do this. This job is it's more work to work in this industry than to to to do anything else. Like, that is so true. Five-hour marathon and have more things done than I would have in voice acting five hours and voice acting five hours screen.

SPEAKER_00

That's so funny now you say that because I recently did my taxes, and then they was like, Well, you spent more money than you did when you then you got profit from it. And they was like, oof. And I was like, Yeah, but I love it.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, like, but I needed to be spit though. Because for the love of it. Yeah. I just mean I got like I got like 5,000 likes.

SPEAKER_06

It's like forgive me. We're not none of us are really making money. None of us are really making money.

SPEAKER_01

And we're the happiest we can be without it. And we're happy about it, right?

SPEAKER_08

We're crazy, we're crazy, we're crazy. After enough time, you stop caring about money and you go cry. Who needs money anyways? I'll survive on air. Yeah, this$10 an hour is gonna do me good.

SPEAKER_06

It's it's we're we're we're managing, bro. We're managing, we're managing. Be selective and be selective and do paid projects is another thing for me.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, unpaid projects. I transitioned last year to that, like just straight paid projects, but every like I'll it's uh selective with like unpaid. Like if I see like they're really, you know, dedicated and it looks really put together, then that's different, but I've been mostly going towards paid because I'm trying to like get to that point where it's like, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, like I actually I actually want lunch next week. Right. Like I need and if the thing is, especially like if I'm traveling to Vancouver back and forth for like recording in person. That's money. I need to start, yeah. It's like I'll be making money from the the voice acting I do in Vancouver, but like to get there in the first place, I need to have stuff set aside. So I've set like emergency money for like you know what's crazy? I don't have emergency money in case like I go homeless, but I have emergency money for voice acting in case I can't travel to Vancouver.

SPEAKER_10

Like, I am so I'm such a mess. Like, I'm such a mess. I will be I will be homeless and I'll be like, okay, I have like I have like enough to to travel to Vancouver then.

SPEAKER_06

I have enough money. Yeah, like I I that really just clicked in my head when I said that. Like, I didn't want to have a true voice actor. I don't have savings put together for that. I have savings for voice acting. But guys, it'll pay me off in the long run. I'll make like a dollar profit next year.

SPEAKER_00

And before we get out of here, I wanted to see what other what hobbies do you like to do besides everything that else that you do? Um something that you do that some may not think that you would do that you don't really talk about or anything at all. And I noticed like you're tatted. Oh thank you! And I like your piercing here.

SPEAKER_08

Thank you.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh, we have like industrial than like industrial here. Yeah, I'm gonna be here. I love piercings, I love tattoos. I'm very like alternative, which is why I I was like buying clothes to look more professional, but not like not me. Um but I okay, okay, okay. I love clay. I love working with clay. Oh I make like little creatures. I actually I'm meeting um I'm meeting someone and I made a clay hamtaro sculpture. I'm trying to do it. Oh my gosh! Which is so like pottery? Like it's like air dry clay and like uh like stuff like that. It's so hard to see, but it's like it's so that's not gonna still be. There we go. That is so freaking cute! Yeah, and I've made like I've made clay stuff for my agent, actually. Um I made a container and then he cast for like My Little Pony Sonic and like Lego Ninjago and all this stuff. So I've made like a container, and then when you open the container, it shows like the characters that he's cast for inside it made of clay. Yeah, yeah, so I love making clay. I've always loved making clay. Like a I learned in middle school we had like a curricular program where we worked with clay. Um which introduced my love to it, and I've made like like change holders, like ring holders, like uh incense holders, all this stuff, and it's like it's it's so it's so fun, right? Because it's like we need an escape. Like well, it's so easy to only talk voice acting when you're a voice actor, because like the crazy job we're doing, we're nuts. Um and it's all we do. It's really all we do a lot of the time. It's like we're either answering emails or we're we're working in a studio, we're we're doing stuff, we're thinking about what we're gonna do next, we're studying for a role. So you gotta find an escape, and I find that through um either like I love watching movies, I love making like clay stuff, I love um I like to doodle. I don't do it like that much, but I doodle like all the time when I'm like bored or studying or something like that. Um I love I play a lot of games. Uh I love Overwatch, I love Minecraft. I'm in an Overwatch page right now. I've been like uh playing Overwatch with friends a lot. Um I oh my gosh, what else do I do?

SPEAKER_00

Um I also feel like it it enhances like voice acting in general when you have like a life outside of voice acting. Like it's not fully in. Like and then it'll like make you a better voice actor because like you've been doing other stuff.

SPEAKER_06

And I know this sounds like crazy that that to like people watching this, I I don't know if this is like a normal thought, but like when I was looking for for jobs, I specifically was looking for a job to like survive but also make money towards voice acting. But I was like, okay, what job would I meet the most interesting people that I can study while at work? Um so I went That was me! Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. We are so afraid So like really everything is tied to voice acting. I work at a skate shop part-time, and like that was such a goal, like such a such a good decision because like I did the same thing.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like it's so smart. Like it's like it's such a smart idea.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, studying people, and then it's like you're you're interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Every personality, I'll be like, oh, that'll be good for a character like this. Let me store that in my end. Yeah, it's and then it would help you get out of your comfort zone too. So like I was very shy, and like it was hard for me to start talking to people. So as a first receptionist, I had to make myself talk to people, and then you know, on top of that, like that is crazy. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_08

Because I thought I was crazy, like the way I was talking about it, right? I was like, we were on the same link, the craziest.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, we're we're nuts. And it's it's like the what so what I do.

SPEAKER_01

Everything is connected to it.

SPEAKER_06

It is, it's all connected, so it's like you gotta find a way to make an escape, even though it is connected.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_06

But I work like sales, and then I work at a skate shop doing sales, so I'm meeting like the craziest people you you'd think, right? Where it's like skaters and like it's like uh I I'm say I'm doing sales, so I'm talking to everyone constantly, and a part of my job, they literally tell us to have conversations with people, learn about who they are, so you can sell more. We're kind of it's evil industry.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, the sales industry is evil, but like the commission is it commission or just conditions. Yeah, I used to do something a little something like that. It was it was terrible. It was so bad.

SPEAKER_06

But it's like it's really great for for studying, and also you need to talk to people uh that aren't okay. It's like I this sounds kind of weird, but like you need to talk to people who aren't in the creative industri industry at all. Um because like yes, you can talk to animators and like artists, and you know, all my friend group is in the industry somehow, whether it's like voice acting, game dev, um, animators, uh storytime things, YouTuber content creators. But it's like you need to talk to people who aren't as well, because it's like you will kind of brain rot yourself into thinking that everyone is the same. Like, we're all very energetic people, we all like we all do this, but it's like when you meet like construction workers, it's like you want to be able to uphold the conversation with them, right? And you want to like learn who they are, and it's like it's easy to get lost in this kind of like fake reality when you're so online in a way where it's like oh, we're all known, we're all kind of like known by people, we're all like like influencers kind of thing, where it's like it's it's so different than like having a genuine like conversation with some people, you know what I mean? Yeah, so I I really recommend like if you're not working another job, like and you're just doing voice acting, which like congratulations if you are because you're you're making it big. Um then if if you're doing uh voice acting full time, you gotta find like something to get out there, whether it's like maybe join a local theater thing, maybe like do classes, just do something not related to acting and meet like normal people because we're not normal. Get out there, yes, right. Yeah, we are we are crazy people, just like all linked together through the world. So it's you gotta yeah, I I really recommend meeting like aver like it sounds weird saying average people, but it's like non-creative people. Yeah, non non like art obsessed people. There we go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um people exactly because it's it's it's really hard to not talk about like I challenge people like in the space to not talk about art for like a day, and it's you literally have to physically hold yourself back for like a long time because you realize how often you bring it up or like how often it's connected to other stuff, or it's like and you don't want it to control your whole entire being in existence.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_06

You're more than that. We're so obsessed with what we we're genuinely like genuinely we're all obsessed with what we do, even if you don't think you are. Auditioning every day and getting rejected every day is not normal. Like we're not normal. We're obsessed. And it's like when you're obsessed, you want to have a personality, you don't want to be like just acting. Because like you do you don't want to talk only acting because people around you are gonna be like, I don't care, I don't care, Kill me. It's like I've literally been through that where it's like I'm very moving like oh here, I'm playing internet micro celebrities, and they're like, oh my god, shut up, I don't care. Like it's like I'm sorry. Talk about like political economics. Like that's theory. So you gotta find like you gotta find yourself. You gotta find yourself. Because if you only know acting, then your characters you play only know acting, and it's like you know what I mean? So it's yeah, get out, get outside, guys. I know it's really hard to do. I don't do it often. Go outside, touch the grass. Um at least try, try somebody. It's it's too hard sometimes. Sleeping in bed is so nice. I know your bed is so covered. I know you're watching this, either you're watching this in the corner of your screen, you're playing the game on the other monitor. You're you're watching YouTube with your drawing. Yeah, you're you're watching YouTube, you're doing something. You're doing something. I know you're not outside. I know you're either you're sleeping in your bed, you're sitting with your phone like this, and you're you're watching with your head on the pillow. I know what you're doing. Get outside right now. Immediately.

SPEAKER_03

Go outside.

SPEAKER_06

Go outside. Pause the video. Go outside.

SPEAKER_05

Take us outside with you.

SPEAKER_06

Wow, it's gorgeous outside. This was a good decision. Take us outside with you. Bring your phone, sit down in the grass. Wow. You know, hold on. This is so gorgeous out here. It's so gorgeous. Oh my gosh! It's so gorgeous out here. The sunshine on my skin, the sunshine on my skin.

SPEAKER_08

I love it. Go outside, go outside now. The presentation was everything.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, thank you.

SPEAKER_06

It's immersive, right? It's like so immersive. Oh, the sunshine on my skin. It's so beautiful. This is my outside, guys. To be who I can't.

SPEAKER_10

Like, right after this, I'm going to bed.

SPEAKER_07

I'm such a hypocrite. I'm not going outside after this. Hell no. I'm gonna watch when this interview comes out, I'm gonna watch it on my screen, and I'm gonna be playing video games, and I'm gonna be talking to my friends about acting. I'm not gonna listen to any of my advice.

SPEAKER_06

Don't listen to like heed my warning, but I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it. Heed my warning. Don't be like me.

SPEAKER_01

And that will make them want to be like you even more. Why do you say that?

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna get we're gonna get so much KJ clones. It's what is enough? What is enough?

SPEAKER_10

Oh my army.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

My army You start floating in the air. Scariest moment ever. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. And um, before we before we head out, is there anything that you would like to say to any aspiring voice actors, podcaster, um, director, um, content creator out there that really helped you along your journey or something you wish you would have known while you were doing your journey, or anything like that?

SPEAKER_06

Um that's that's so that's such a good question, and it's so hard because like um I'm not really someone you should listen to advice from. But something that like, okay, um take your okay. I'm gonna do it in little categories.

SPEAKER_00

Anything that like you think you like like dang, I wish I would have known that. Or like, oh, that would have helped if I knew that beforehand, or like that would have been like helpful for me. Like Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I'll I'll I'll put this in sections, okay? Alright, raise your hand when it gets to you. We got thumbnails. Voice actors. Okay. Voice actors, listen to my warning about social media posting. Um voice actors, take workshops, take classes, as many as you can, because again, that's how I met like Patty and all these amazing people. I've met like daily. It's been like a career changing thing is taking workshops, meeting people. Um if you're a faceless voice actor, I I I d uh definitely like listen and and if you're a commenter, give your opinions on like what we were talking about because Or message me, just message me like and just be like, Hey my voice voice actor. 'Cause it's like it's yeah, it's it's definitely an interesting thing there. Um Go outside, like I said.

SPEAKER_02

Get the job, like I said.

SPEAKER_06

Get a job, people. Get a job. Um, don't rush your career. Again, yeah, it's like a lot of the stuff I said is like what I believe for the voice actors. It's like, don't rush your career is the biggest one. Because even though I got told that by a lot of people saying, like, don't rush your career, it'll be slow. It'll be slow. I was like, Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_08

I uh Yeah, okay. I got I you do it now.

SPEAKER_06

Um no, you're it's gonna take longer than you realize. Like these two years have flown by, genuinely. Like, I I feel like I started voice acting like yesterday. Like, I it's it's so insane, and it's yeah, so that's my voice actors little warm-up thing. Um casting directors, I I appreciate you. I don't know how you do it. I don't know. Just keep doing you, yo. Just keep doing you. And uh my advice for casting directors is to cast me. Um absolutely for content creators. Um, I I can definitely give a little more input on that too, because I guess I am too. Uh um Right?

SPEAKER_01

It's like, oh yeah, I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Be okay, it's it's really easy to say that you're gonna like post consistently and like do everything like back to back to back and to like have all these ideas. But like careful with burnout, guys, careful. Like, like cut it out like it was like definitely tricky to like edit all the interviews and then like go back and all that stuff. Like be careful, don't burn yourself out. If you don't want to do it, like this, you're only really what we're doing is just for ourselves as content creators. Like I'm posting this for myself, and it's like we're not making money, we're doing it for ourselves. So if you're not gonna post and you need a break, no one's gonna blame you. They're just gonna hope you're okay. Yeah, yeah. And it's like as a voice actor, again, this ties into voice acting too. Like, I I d I took like two years to take my first little hiatus from voice acting, and that was when I was at like the low, low point where I genuinely like needed to do it. Like I had to. And it's like, I I wish I wasn't so strict on myself because I was really worried. Like, if I go on hiatus, um, I'm not gonna book jobs. Maybe people are gonna think that like, you know, it's unprofessional, or maybe people are like I could get like an opportunity from like a dream job in that time when I'm away.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like guys, you know, it was it's all in the head. It's like it's like you think everybody's watching you and like they are like trying to keep up with you. They're like, oh, they they haven't posted any any role announcements in a while. They're probably done and like they're probably no, like they're nobody like it's hooky, take a break, you'll like Tony O'Connell.

SPEAKER_06

If someone is watching your socials to that extent, then that means they're a fan of you. So like the only thing they're not thinking in a judgmental way, they're like, oh my gosh, I wish there was more. This is so funny.

SPEAKER_00

Right, or how are they doing? I wonder how they're doing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

If someone hates you, they're blocking you, like straight up. You're getting blocked. Like they're not caring if you're not posting role announcements. Um the only people really keeping up with your stuff are fans of you because social media is massive. You don't have to no one follows someone they don't like and they don't want to follow. It's like it's just a click of a button, right? Like it's yeah, so people watching you genuinely care about you. Um take breaks if you need it. They will understand. They will understand. They will be I'll be a little sad, I'll miss you. Um but yeah, just and with content, um it's easy to get burnout as well. Um so if you're not feeling the creative juices, then don't force it. You can like, again, it's part of the going out and experiencing things because ideas will hit from random things. Like, I I cracked my ankle when I was walking down the stairs once, and I was like, what if I did a thing where a guy like got his leg bit off by a shark? And I was like, like, it's you just get weird ideas from like nothing, bro. Like it's you're you're just getting like dumb stuff. So just live. Just live life, it'll come to you, and like content is the best kind of content. Like it that's why I'm I have stuff coming up, but like I'm not posting stuff that I don't want to right now, you know? Yeah, because you want to love what you do. We're doing it for ourselves. Yeah, I'm not sure. That's that's my advice for for those people. Uh cosplayers, keep doing it more, more, more, more. Um else am I missing? Who else can I give advice to? Um, retail workers, I'm sorry. Um especially around the holidays. Yeah. Um if you're a chef, keep cooking because it's really good. Uh send me samples. That's my advice. I'll review it for my social media. I swear.

SPEAKER_01

Um, give me all the samples.

SPEAKER_06

Free samples. Oh, podcasters, that's what I'm forgetting. Yes. And I guess I can give this like direct advice to you uh as well, Star, because like you should have a lot of people. I'm a little veteran here with like interviews. Oh. It's it's like I know it's like it's gonna be hard to like edit going back and stuff like that. And it's like uh when I first started, I was nitpicking everything. Like, if there was open gaps of like too much space between combos, I would trim it because I was like, oh, I don't want awkward pauses in my in my interview. I don't want like um people to get bored midway through, so I kinda like slimmed it down as much as I could. I just let it play out, like it's like let it be an honest conversation because people are watching interviews and it's like those cuts are kind of jarring going back, like you know, stuff like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Uh I also I prepared scripts when I was doing cut it out for like questions I definitely wanted to ask. And it's like, I recommend doing that, but don't overdo it because that makes the conversation robotic. And it's like that was definitely for me. So if you're a podcaster as well, like star, you didn't do that at all. Like you were like, it's fucking amazing. You're a great podcaster.

SPEAKER_09

Amazing podcaster.

SPEAKER_06

Um but it's like at the point where it's like I would like you'd seem I'd be like reading here while they're like answering a question, I'd be reading a way to like tie a question into a thing. So it's like it's just be in the conversation, be in it. Because we're having a conversation, we're not like this isn't a personality. Yeah, this isn't like a an interview to like get something. It's like we're generally just talking and being like we're having- Yeah, and I took it too corporate at the start. That's what I I made. I was like, I definitely like was like, okay, I need the viewer retention to be good, I need to like cut it down so people watch it fully, I need to cut the awkward pauses because I don't want people to think I'm awkward. And then I also like prepared all the questions. I'd I'd watch every single video of the guests I was having on, and some of these people have been posting for years and years and years. I didn't want to be like, and I also would like there was a point invite people that you genuinely enjoy, even if they're not like clout, like don't have clout or like internet popularity kind of thing, or it's like because if you're inviting guests on just because they have the big following and you're not actually like a fan of their work or interested in what they do, why are you interviewing them? Why that part basically like stars It's inauthentic? Yeah, it's it's like I don't know if this is the same for you, but when I was interviewing, it's like I just wanted to talk to the person. Like I I did so it's like if I like what you do, I want to talk to you. And it's like I didn't care if anyone watched or not, because like I I know. I wanted to have a conversation anyway. I just wanted to talk to me. I wanted like I wanted you to feel like you could speak to me about yourself. So it's like if you're bringing on people just because they have a big following, it's not really fun for either of you. It's not fair to the guest as well, because it's like you want to know what they do, you want to know who they are.

SPEAKER_00

It's not like you don't like you're getting something out of or anything like that.

SPEAKER_06

Like, exactly what it is, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, right. Like, I just I don't know. Like I l I get what you're saying for completely. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And if you have ever any questions about like podcasting interview, I'll do my best to answer. Yeah, because I've I've done I've done like a handful of them, and I've I've gone through the the ups and lows of like accidentally content corrupting and stuff like that. So it's like it might happen someday. Be careful, be be warned. Um but have fun. I I've loved it so far, like like watching your stuff. So thank you so much! Yeah, I was just so excited to be on here. Thank you for having me, by the way. Thank you for coming. Oh my gosh. Like I love talking about like just the world and my perspective on it and stuff like that. Because it's like, you know what? I like talking, I'm a talker. Me too.

SPEAKER_02

So much. You're so much fun.

SPEAKER_06

Like this was long overdue. Like for you to start podcasts, like your personality, that's like it's so perfect. We bounce off each other so well. Like, this was perfect match, perfect match.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we need it. We need to like we need to come up with something, uh get some more project together. I don't know what, but I I like our dynamic. No, we we've got it now.

SPEAKER_06

Like I can't wait for the day that we get to like meet in person and then also like record in person. It'll happen someday. We're manifesting that too. We're gonna record in person together for the day in the studio. Manifest! That would be so awesome. Yeah, thank you for having me. Like, this is this is just blue button. Is this the longest interview yet? Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

I think so. Yeah, for me. Yeah, let's go.

SPEAKER_08

Let's go, let's go. Easy, easy, star boom, starboom, let's go. Thank you, thank you for having me.

SPEAKER_07

Like, thank you. Yeah, it's my star hoodie. That's I there we go.

SPEAKER_01

I love the face on it.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I know, it's so cute.

SPEAKER_08

It's so cute. I don't know what it says, but it's so cute. So cute. Let's spray that it says something like cute.

SPEAKER_06

If it says something bad, let me know. I'll I'll let it on fire. I don't know. Word.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. No, I'm gonna be careful to wear it. Voice actors, PSA. Read what your hoodies are saying before you wear them. I did it again.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. I cannot wait to like like do another project with you and just like scream together. Yes, like just do something crazy emotional.

SPEAKER_06

Like Yeah, we we be screaming. Um be screaming! We'd be screaming, and some something's coming up as soon as just animation takes a long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and stuff like that. But yeah, some some.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh my gosh. Well, thank you so much for coming on, KJ. This has been so awesome. Like, oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, my face hurts from smiling so much.

SPEAKER_06

I'm like, I'm supposed to be oh, I was I was meant to come in here all mysterious and ominous.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's pretend like you were mysterious the whole time.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I should have. Okay, so next interview I do, um, I will I'll act super mysterious and and evil. Yes. I don't want anyone to have a clear perception of who I am. So, you know, I'm I'm the Numa, no one knows who I am.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for inviting me to your interview. Uh seems like something I dabble in.

SPEAKER_10

I'll start. I'll start I'll have like the lights off. This is thank you for having me to interview today.

SPEAKER_01

Set the ambiance.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll have like an evil orb that I ponder that. I'm getting my answer.

SPEAKER_06

I'm getting my answer.

SPEAKER_10

I start floating out of you.

SPEAKER_00

My cheeks!

SPEAKER_06

Right, okay.

SPEAKER_10

I'm starting to hold all of you guys hostage.

SPEAKER_06

Like, baby.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, I love this. I um we definitely have to have you back on. And I can't wait to do like a like a where are they now? And see what you like see all the goals that you hit and future goals and stuff. It's gonna it's gonna be pretty good.

SPEAKER_08

That is a really good idea. Definitely, definitely bring me back whenever that is. Heck yeah!

SPEAKER_07

Awesome. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, and then um for anyone who wants to follow you on your journey and and hit you up for projects and stuff like that, where can they find you at?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, okay. All right, so so go into your browser. Everyone watching right now, go to your browser. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Go to your browser browser right now.

SPEAKER_04

Go K J B-U-R-B-A-N-K dot com.

SPEAKER_06

Go to contact. Contact me. And then go to my social media that's linked on my site at kjburbank.com. There's kj burk on all socials. This is on all socials, it's it's KJ Burbank V A. Um it's like that on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, that's all I use at the moment. Uh I don't have TikTok. If you see me on TikTok, that's not me. Please. Oh, okay. Um, I used to have it, but I don't anymore. My account's deleted. So if if you see me on there, you see my content on there, it's not you. Yeah, let me know. That's not me. Um I I have Twitter, I have only two accounts, which is the Cut It Out account and the KJ Burbank VA account. That's it. Okay. Um Instagram's one account, one account only. If you find anything else, that's not me. Yeah, like I for Instagram, I have to clarify that because that's my biggest platform, and a lot of my friends have like fake accounts made. KJ Burbank VA only. That is that's all it is. Nothing else is me on Instagram. Do not get your like account robbed by me. Um if you are willing to sacrifice your credit card information, do it to KJ Burbank VA. That's my record. I would love it. I would love it. Um otherwise, do not give it to anyone. Do not give it to a scammer. Give it to me. Give it to me.

SPEAKER_10

Okay!

SPEAKER_06

Do not get scammed. Let me scam your screen. You'll be donating to a car. Yeah, so when you get a scam message on Instagram, that's really me. That's really me. Just make sure it's the right account, okay? There we go. And other than that, I oh, I have Blue Sky, but I don't use Blue Sky. Don't follow me on Blue Sky because I don't use it.

SPEAKER_00

I did a little bit, but I stopped too. I need to.

SPEAKER_06

I did it because I've got the time to follow the Everyone's like, we're leaving Twitter now, and I'm like, I guess. I posted on it twice, and I'm like, this is just too much.

SPEAKER_00

Um it's a lot. It's handling handling socials is a lot of work.

SPEAKER_03

It is. But it's fun.

SPEAKER_00

It's fun. It's fun, it's fun work. Having content creating in general is fun work. There's a lot that goes into it. Like, it looks fun and it is fun. Make it fun.

SPEAKER_06

Like, make it fun work.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

And then what? I'm just like double checking any other socials that I've forgotten about. Um, um, yeah, you can follow me on Tinder. Um YouTube. Oh YouTube, I have okay, yeah. So I have YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, that's it. That's it. Um I love it.

SPEAKER_08

They're just gonna go on Tinder like where is he?

SPEAKER_07

Right, right. Where is he? Where is she? I'm the director of Disney and I need to beat him so I can kill him now.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I'm on nothing else.

SPEAKER_07

If you do find me on Tinder, please let me know, because that's like weirdly concerning. Because I'm I don't think anyone should, especially if you're not from where I am. Like, if you're from like LA and you see me on Tinder, do not add me back. Do not add me. That's not me. And let me know. Let me know. Let me know, please. Like it that that is terrifying. No one's no one's using me as their Tinder, but this is not something we have to worry about.

unknown

First thing.

SPEAKER_07

If you want to make a Tinder account of mine, okay.

SPEAKER_06

Forward all the contact info you get, forward all your likes you get and send them to me. We can collab. Yeah, that's uh yeah. How do we get here?

SPEAKER_01

Like, how do we oh my god, I felt like this. How do we get here? Oh, I can't. I'm screaming. You're so funny. You didn't even be a standard comedian.

SPEAKER_10

SPEAKER_06
