What's up everyone? And welcome back to the Breakthrough Reel. As always, thank you for pushing play. Um yeah, how's everybody doing out there? Me? I'm a little off schedule. This is my third time recording this podcast. Um, because today I am doing my first movie narration. And to me, there's an art in narrating a movie. It's some of the the things I love to listen to podcasters do, is just explain the movie, go scene by scene, you know, break down some move some scenes and character and what they're feeling. So yeah, it's kind of been hard, you know. You kind of get in your mind and tell yourself, uh, you kind of just pick it apart. But yeah, that's why I'm a little off schedule today for you know uploading a new episode. Cause, you know, I've been critiquing myself a lot. Um, but on top of, you know, just narrowing my first movie today on my podcast, um, I wanted to talk about, which is gonna go into why I'm narrating this movie, uh, I want to talk about uh something that's kind of been bothering me. And that is, you know, the movie theater. You see it everywhere. Everyone says the movie theater experience is dying, or no one goes to the movie no more, or it's too expensive to go to the movies. You know, you hear all kinds of things. Um, but you know, let's be real, a lot of good movies are being overlooked. And you know, I'm guilty of it too. I've overlooked the movies. The movie I'm talking about today, I didn't even bother going to sit in theaters and seeing and and to to see. And, you know, watching it at home, it would have been a great theater experience. Um nobody's really going to theaters like they used to. Um, it's not just because tickets are expensive, it's because damn near everything ends up on streaming in no time. Like, no time at all. I didn't see Superman, but guess what I was watching yesterday? And it seemed like it just came out. So it wasn't a big deal that I missed the experience. Um, you know, even talking to friends and you know, seen on the internet, like what they can do because no one's going to the movie anymore is, you know, re-release old movies. There's so many old movies that people want to see on the big screen that people are too young or missed out on and didn't get to see that experience, you know. Um to experience it on the big screen. So I think that that'll be a good thing to do to get people back in theaters. But at the same time, you know, like I said, you you wait a few months and you can catch it at home in your bed where you can eat a full dinner and then say, hmm, that was good, and then go shower, clean your kitchen. Like it's just way too convenient to miss a movie, and it's right on streaming in no time. I can remember being a kid, and I swear my perception of like when movies came out is so odd because it took so long to get on VHS and then even longer to get on cable. So some of these movies that came out in like 1989, I thought were new because I wasn't seeing them until they were on VGS VHS or on cable, you know, everything took a lot more time. Um, but on top of that, we are not getting a lot of original films in theaters anymore. Studios are scared, so it's remakes, sequels, franchises. Meanwhile, streaming is packed with great movies, too. You can sit at home, save your money, and still get a quality film. That's the culture now. But here's the thing sometimes an original movie does come along. I mean, I've been in the theaters this year with my number one pick for the year, which is weapons. Then we had centers, you know, original concept films that are just blockbusters because people are interested in new stories, you know? Um but yeah. Like, but even the good movies still get overlooked, and that's where today's movie comes in. We're talking about Mickey 17, and let me tell you, this movie deserved better. Like, it really did. Alright, um, let's talk about the director and the cast. First off, the film was directed by Bong Jun-ho. Yeah, the same Bong Ju ho who gave us Parasite, an Oscar-winning masterpiece. The man is like seriously a visionary. Um, he's also fun watching him in interviews. He's just such a sweet guy with just like a great personality. Um, you can tell he's pretty fucking fun on set. You can just tell he's really loved, also. Um, he also said that he knew Robert Pattinson was his Mickey right away. He said that Pattinson walked into their first meeting and he was like, There he goes, there's Mickey, done deal. Um, and let's talk about the rest of the cast. Um, Robert Pattinson, who plays Mickey 17 and 18, and trust me, he makes them feel like two totally different people. Then the boy can act. I'm always pretty impressed by Robert Pattinson. Then we got my boy Stephen Ewing playing Timu. Timo, excuse me. Not Timu. How awful of me to say that. Um, it's so wild to see him play this slick, slimy shyster of a snake of a character. He's so good though, but it's different from what I'm used to seeing him play. And then we have Naomi Aki as Nasha. Um she's pretty much like the heart of the movie, if you ask me. The backbone. She's a fighter. Honestly, she carries like a lot of the soul of the film. Um, and I kept watching and wondering, where have I seen this girl before? I've seen her in a totally different role in Blink Twice, which came out, was it earlier, like sometimes last year? It's Zoe Kravitz like directorial debut. It's a great film, but I'll tell you what, you're not ready for the switch up at the end. It's it's it's a rough movie once you find out what's really going on. It's a mind-bender. But I really enjoyed it. I really, really did. And then we have our boy Mark Ruffalo, who plays Kenneth Marshall. Um, he's a like a fellow politician, turned dictator in the movie. He's fucking pathetic, but dangerous. Sound familiar. Um, and he's but he's hilarious too. He's got these crazy chompers in his mouth too, but he's so good in it. And then we got my girl Tony Collette as Alpha Marshall. She plays uh Kenneth Marshall's wife. Um, oh my god, she's so unhinged in this movie, obsessed with food sauce, strangely, and just psychotic. So psychotic. And I think she's really the mastermind of the evil in the movie, if you ask me. Um, so yeah, powerhouse cast, a director who knows exactly what he's doing and somehow still overlooked, guys. Which is why I'm about to walk you through the whole damn movie, scene by scene, because Nikki17 deserves to be seen. Alright, so let's get into it. We're starting from scene one, all the way to the end, people. So take this ride with me. Alright. I'm so sorry, guys. Alright, we open with Mickey. Um he's on ice, he you can tell he's in pl in pain and he can't get up. We don't really know what's going on because it just opens right in on that scene. Um, and then we meet Timo. He comes down and he's kind of like, You're not dead yet. And Mickey's kind of like, no, he's like, You should be. So he takes Mickey's flamethrower, which he obviously dropped, and he's like, dude, like Mickey's like, dude, you're you're a dick. You're just gonna leave me here, and he's like, they're just gonna print you out tomorrow, anyways. And we're kind of like, what the fuck is happening? So he says, bye, Mickey, but he also asks him, and we're gonna hear this question a lot through the film, what does it feel like to die? Mickey doesn't answer him though, because you know, he's in pain. But Timo, I keep calling this man Timo. Timo. Timo takes off. He just leaves him, you know, just to fucking die, which is awful. Um, but that, what does it feel like to die? Will haunt Mickey this whole entire movie. And then all of a sudden, we see the creepers, which I kind of feel bad calling them that after we get to know these squishy little aliens that kind of look like, you know, like a glow worm with tendrils and not as cute, but then cute at the same time. They're like squishy aliens, they look pretty terrifying. Um, one is a giant mother creeper, babies all surrounding her, and she's slowly like just crawling up to Mickey and opening her mouth wide, and I'm like, well, this motherfucker's about to be eaten. Boom. We see Mickey being reprinted, naked, new body. They're uploading his memories back in him. That's his life over and over again. Um, and we kind of find out like this is what Mickey's been doing the last four years. Um, Mickey tells us this life of being an expendable is what he is, is his punishment. Maybe for a mess with a frog in seventh grade, maybe for the car accident with his mom, which you find out about later. He just blames himself for everything. He's really trying to rational rationalize why he's being used like this, why he's trash. And honestly, it's just heartbreaking. Um, so scientists run tests on him, radiation pain, near death, and we find out that we have this one scientist named Dorothy, who is just so sweet, and you could tell she really, really looks at Mickey, not like he's just this experiment, but I don't know, maybe a friend, you know what I mean? Um, and we have Arkady also, who's a total dick, but no yet humanity. He's one of the scientists, also works alongside of Dorothy and many other scientists. Um, so as we're meeting Dorothy and Arcady, we hear Mickey narrating. He flashes back to Earth. Earth is dying. There's sandstorms and desperation. Everyone wants a ticket on these colony ships. Kit and Marshall, who was play barborn Mark Ruffalo, rallies his supporters in red hats that say one and only. Sound familiar? Yeah. Uh Mickey signs up to be inexpendable. Um, Timo scams his way into a better job as a pilot, you know, because you know, he's a snake. He's a slimy snake. And Mickey, he gets the worst gig imaginable, dying over and over again. Um, so he we end up, you know, he ends up signing up to be an expendable on the ship, not really knowing what it is, because he just says he doesn't have, you know, any talents or anything. He even says he doesn't even have family or anything on earth. So he just wants to get out of there. Um we find out what the cycler is, and the cycler is just made up of like dead bodies, old food, just trash. And it's helped to make to reprint him. So he's just made out of all that shit over and over again. Um, so she's actually telling him about it. She's, you know, explaining how they're gonna he's always gonna remember, they're gonna keep his memories. So she makes him remember, she gives him this shot that makes him remember a lot of other things in his life, and I think he kind of repressed. And that's when we see baby Mickey being carried to the car, and you can tell it's his mom. And little Mickey is adorable, by the way. And there's this big red button in his car. You can tell this is just how he's remembering it. And he says if he just wasn't curious and didn't press that button, you know. So we see Mickey just bawling his eyes out in the next scene, and you know, the lady comes in and just puts a gun to his head and tells him to kill herself. She goes, This is what your life's gonna be. You dying over and over again. Um, so then Mickey makes his way to the cafeteria. Um, he also meets our girl Nasha in there. And um they have to ration food because we're trying to find this other planet to make new life on because Earth is dying. And you know, all the food's just crap and everything, also. So they have to eat the food's just colorless and just looks like brick and slime and slop. So um, they have to ration food. Like Mickey even tried to like sneak a tiny little piece, and this alarm went off, so he can't even get by on taking it. And they have to save calories also because you know they have no food, but they're also workers. Um then he meets Eyes with Nasha. She comes and she tells him to come sit by her, and she gives him a little piece of her food, you know. Um soon after, you can just tell they're falling in love. He's smiling at him. She's smiling at him, he's smelling at her. Um, and we can just tell, like, this is this girl, like they're falling in love. Um, and then we see montages of Mickey dying and just Nasha being there for him the whole time. We see radiation, suffocation, incineration every time reprinted. You know, our girl Nasha stayed by his side through it all. 17 versions. Um, Nasha's also she's a soldier, a cop, and a firefighter, just everything, a badass. You know, she's on a squadron on the ship. Um, and Kenneth Marshall also said, you know, they don't want them to have sex on the ship. And as he's making this speech about, you know, not having sex, Nacha and Mickey R making Sweet Sweet Love. Um, but in secret, of course. Um, and then we see them having like they have this little pad and they're drawing like these sex positions with these stick people on this pad. Um, and they focus in on like these different calls, like C3 and C brie. They're like silly little doodles. Um, and C three is called bring the baby, and the stick figure is like holding the person like a baby, but it's a sex position. It's it's kind of wild, but that'll meddle it later. So remember, C3 equals bring the baby. Um, so then we get a little closer look at um Kenneth and Alpha and their scheme um for rationing food and obsessing over sauce. Um, they also see, you know, the creepers that we met at the beginning as enemies. Um, and they tell everyone that they're lusting over human flesh, which isn't the truth. Creepers are smarter and more compassionate than the humans realize. Um, so um, we also meet this girl named Kai, and you could tell she has a like a crush on Mickey, but nah she's not having that shit, you know? So they finally make it to the ice planet, which Mickey has to be the first to go on there, and he has to go down there in a spacesuit and take off his helmet and and of course die, and they can so they can eradicate any kind of air and make the air pure for them to inhabit that planet. So to me, you know, even though Mickey is constantly dying through this whole thing, he's the fucking hero, man. Like he's making all this happen for the future. But at the same time, I know that Mickey feels like trash, you know. So after they clear the air, they're able to go out there um and look around the planet and see if anything's out there. Um, so they end up running to the creepers, and of course, you know, they don't know what they are. Mickey remembers them from earlier, but no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm saying that wrong. We're going into that scene. I'm so sorry. So they find the creepers, but they're the they're little baby squishy creepers, they're they're fine, there's no problem with them, but they're freaking out because you know, they just think they're aliens, they think they're attacking them. So Mickey and Kai and um the other squadron are trying to get out of there. So Kai's friend looks up, sees a creeper up in the ice from up above them, and she stupidly to me shoots at the ice, and the ice falls on her and fucking kills her. Like, excuse me? What? Like, why would you do that? So Mickey gets in big fucking trouble because you know he's the expendable, they don't want to lose any of the people of the just the people that aren't expendable. So Mickey gets in big trouble for that. Um, so all of a sudden, Mickey is invited back to the ship, and they tell him he has to go out there by himself to figure out what the creepers are. They tell him to go extract one and bring him back so they can do experiments on it. Um he goes out in there, and this goes back to the beginning of the movie with that opening scene where he had fallen through the ice, and you know, we you know, we think the creeper is about to eat them. But instead of the creeper about to eat him, they save him. They all band together and push him back to the top of the ice. So Mickey's like, I'm still good meat. Like he just feels rejected even by them. They wouldn't even eat him. But it's not in a bad way. Mickey just took it bad because he's like, why didn't they want me? Why didn't they eat me? You know? But Mickey's like, and they're just sweet, you know? The aliens aren't these monsters or anything like that. They're just sweet, squishy-ishies, you know, that's all. Um, so obviously everybody thinks that Mickey's dead. Remember, Timo found him down there and was like, hey, you're gonna be dead in a little bit anyway, so I might as well just leave you. That's why I'm not gonna rescue you. So Mickey sees a vehicle driving by on the ice plane, and he jumps on the back of him and it's going back to the ship. So Mickey makes it back to the ship and um sneaks back in, takes a shower, and goes back to his quarters, and he just falls into his bed and boom. We have Mickey 18. Oh shit. And we can already tell that Mickey 18's a little different from our Mickey. He seems ah, he doesn't like if you look at Mickey 17, Mike Robert Pattinson's so good. He plays Mickey 17 as like, I don't know how to describe it, these innocent eyes and his sweet face. But then you look at Mickey 18 and he just has death in his eyes. He's have like a funky tooth also how that's how you can tell them the part but mostly it's how Robert Pattinson plays these characters which is so fucking amazing like two totally different people two totally different people um and in that we also find out that um multiples are illegal um we go back to why multiples are illegal because the guy who made the human printing machine which they found unethical on earth so that's why they can only do it in space that's the only place it's legal because the guy who helped make the human printing machine was a fucking psycho killer. He was multiplying himself and he had alibis because of course they were all him you know but he would still go out and kill so they were like how do you charge this person they're the same person but they're not the same person. He's an alibi do you just jail the one that's the alibi do you jail the ones that's the killer and even as they're they have these two multiples from the guy who created the human printing machine um he makes a third of himself and guess what he's doing fucking out there killing people so multiples are illegal and if they are found out they will be exterminated you they are not allowed to fucking have a multiple at all it's just not allowed. So all of a sudden um Mickey gets invited to have dinner with the Marshalls and it's kind of weird because they were yelling at him earlier for accidentally getting that girl killed then sit him out on that ice by himself to retrieve one of the aliens and it all just isn't making any sense. So they're in there and remember I told you this bitch is like insane about getting the right they're they're trying to make the right kind of foods you know real meats and not just eat on the crap they've been making um so our boy Mickey just is just chomping down this food and she's asking how the sauce is and I'm like what did they do to the food? Like this is another experiment to take our boy out. You know what I mean? But you gotta remember that everybody thought that Mickey 17 died when he went out on that excursion in that ice so of course they don't they reprinted them they don't know that 17 still alive um so they also invite Kai to the dinner and he's telling Kai how he's sorry about her friend dying and that she is the perfect specimen to um get pregnant and populate the new world in which she says my just a uterus to you you know like he's just trying to make this pure strong race for this new planet. So then all of a sudden our boy Mickey starts choking and falling over and puking and getting rashes and here comes the scientist this is all a trick. This is all a trick for him to try the food and it's killing him because she's fucking trying out new food so they can have new food for the planet but it was it's all fucked like everything's a test for this man. Every nothing's safe so they shoot him with this drug and he gets better. So Kai takes him back to her quarters and here goes that question again she makes him some tea she sits down next to him and she asks him what is it like to die still doesn't have an answer. You know he pretty much just says it's scary every time even if he knows he's coming back it's scary um so um Mickey ends up going back to his quarters because Kai tries to make out with him by the way because she's got a little crush on our boy Mickey and he ends up leaving because he is committed to our girl Nasha and he goes in there and Nasha already knows Nasha knows that Mickey 18 is not her Mickey Mickey her Mickey 17 so she's super excited and you could tell Nasha's kind of acting weird and she wants to have a threesome with them and Mickey 17's kind of like what is going on when you're acting weird you know like what is going on what's happening and we end up finding out that we saw Timu early uh I keep calling this man Timo. His name's Timo y'all we saw Timo selling drugs this drug called Oxy earlier and Nasha is high off oxy which I think is a strange thing to be happening. I don't understand why they put that in there that still confuses me because she's such a stand up character and for her to just be high on drugs in the middle of the movie was just like it just threw me through a loop I just did not understand like why that was happening. So as Nasha's getting freaky with both Mickeys Kai walks in boom um Nasha chases after her because she's like she can't fucking tell you know what I mean if they find out they're multiples they're going to exterminate them both so she's going back and forth with uh with Nasha's going back and forth with Kai and Kai's like um well you can have 18 and I'll take 17 which is what like Nasha's like fuck you bitch like no Nasha actually says they're both mine they're both my Mickey they're Mickey period and at the same time simultaneously we're having a conversation between Mickey 17 and 18 and Mickey 18's asking what did they want with him at the dinner and Mickey told them you know it was just another test they tried to kill him again and there and at the same time we see that um Mark Ruffles character Kenneth Marshall has like this late night talk show going on it's like this propagandish talk show if you ask me and um Mickey 18's asking him so so what did you do after they tried to kill you and treat you like that and by the way in that scene when they didn't think that the drug was going to help Mickey um Kenneth Marshall was going to shoot him in the head just blow his brains out you know what I mean which is fucking wild um so as my as Marshall's propaganda talk shows on TV um they had excavated a rock um from the ice planet so they're lasering it open just to see what's inside um and as this is happening like Mickey 18 is just going off and calling Mickey a loser you're a loser this and that like I feel like this scene is so great because I feel like it's the internal struggle of a person I've been there where I felt like I should have stood up for myself in some way said something not let someone treat me like shit and then later on I'm fucking cussing myself out for letting allow that to happen. Because guys I can get really mean with myself I know I can so this like it was just the internal battle you know what I mean but into this it you saw two people but they're the same person. So to me it was just representing the battle in the brain on how hard you can be on yourself yelling at yourself cussing yourself out Mickey 18 says you're a loser and Mickey 17 goes maybe I am a loser so Mickey 18's like you know what we're gonna kill this motherfucker we are going to fucking kill um we're gonna kill Kenneth so Mickey 18 grabs a gun and he's going down to the cafeteria where they're shooting that propaganda TV show. So on the way down he passes Kai and Nasha still in an argument about what she saw and um they all chase after Mickey 18 because he's going there to fucking shoot Marshall and we cut to the scene where they're um lasering open the fucking um they're lasering open the the rock they excavated and two little baby creepers pop out chaos ensues everybody's running everywhere candethmarsh sees Mickey 17 he goes expendable like you grab grab the fucking creeper so Mickey so the little creeper baby crawls up and starts chittering and chattering with Mickey and some for some reason Mickey can communicate with them also it's wild and he finally grabs it and they get it in the bag and then all of a sudden another one pops out the ice and they shoot it up they kill it they just sh like hammer they shoot it all up and Mickey 18 gets a shot off at Marshall and it just like grazes his cheek but now they've all been subdued Nasha subdued Mickey 17 Mickey 18 and they all end up in the prison on the ship so while they're in there Timo comes in with this little lackey and he's telling Mickey how because I don't I did not go into this little side story um in the beginning but Timo I keep calling this man Timo I must be stopped Timo got Mickey into a lot of trouble on Earth four years before they ended up on the ship by taking out a big huge loan from this loan shark from this guy named Darius Blanks and Darius is a psycho if you don't pay him his money back he will fucking kill you in the worst ways like chop you up he loves to chainsaw motherfuckers so um that's one of the reasons why Timo and Mickey ended up on the ship because they're going far far away from Earth you know they're in space they don't have to worry about paying this guy back and uh Darius Blinks ends up finding um Timo and Mickey and he's like hey you know this guy is sadistic he wants me to film me chopping you into 10 pieces and send him the video and that will make him not want to kill them anymore. So Mickey 18 kind of comes in and he's like you know just kill me you know like look at like look at Mickey 17 like he don't deserve it blah blah blah so he goes but you have to give me some of your oxy some of your drug so Timo tells his little funky that gives Mickey 18 his oxy so as the little idiot's handing it through the can the cage Mickey 18 like knocks him out and then Nasha grabs his gun and takes him out and she takes down Timo also and gets out of the cage and she's about to fucking chainsaw Timo but Mickey 17th of course being the sweetest guy he is tells her to stop don't do it and here comes Nasha's um crew like her captain and you know remember she is like a police officer on the ship and they come in and they stop her. So as they're all walking back into the cavitier where uh Kenneth is um he's telling them that the creepers are all surrounding the ship and they won't go away there's like just tons of them just surrounding the ship mama creeper medium sized creepers and little baby creepers of course so they tell them that they're gonna gas all the creepers on outside of the ship which they don't deserve they're not doing anything they're not acting any any kind of way but they hear that little baby creeper that they have on the ship screaming and crying and that's where they surround the ship they just want their family back. That's it. So he she nasha just tells them like you're fucking taking over this planet and it's their planet and you're trying to eradicate them and they're not even dangerous. So at that time they're by the cycler you know where they dump all the dead bodies and everything like that. So he puts a hook inside that little baby sadly and hangs him over the fire and lets it go. But our girl Nasha who's a hero comes and she catches it with her mouth and she's just holding on to this little baby creeper on this hook why it is like hanging over the cycle over the fire. So they tell so they tell uh Mickey 17 and 18 that they must go out there and collect 100 tails off the little baby creepers and whoever gets a hundred first wins but Kenneth also shows him this detonator and it has a red button and a white button and it has a 17 and an 18 on it and whoever if they step out of line boom he's gonna just gonna fucking blow them up so before um so they send him out there with their machetes and everything and before they go Dorothy our girl Dorothy comes and gives Mickey 17 this translator because she saw him communicating with the little baby creeper and she tells him maybe it'll work maybe nothing has to happen. So we cut back inside and they kind of see them just walking through the creepers and of course Elfa's weird ass is being terrible and she's wondering why they're not collecting tales and she just wants to she wants to just blow them the fuck up anyways period and as this is all happening um Nasha's captain tells his um friend to start recording everything because they know this is all wrong. What they're doing what the marshals are doing is just psychotic and wrong and he knows that now which I was thankful for because I was like why aren't you standing up for your friends you know what I mean you know Nasha um so Mickey goes up to the big mama creeper and she tells them you guys killed one of ours and the translator you can hear what she's saying you know and she's saying you killed one of ours so we have to kill one of yours and Mickey 18's like so a life for a life even if we save baby Luko who was the one hanging over the fire one of ours still has to die and she goes yes if you all if you guys cannot give me baby Luko I will kill you all extinct all of you so they all the creepers stand up on their back legs and their tendrils are out and they're screeching and Mickey is holding his ear like it's so fucking loud and she and Mama Creeper tells them your eyes will explode and your brains will explode so at this time you know Mickey looks at him and he goes this is punishment and this is Mickey 17 also still trying to rationalize why this is his life and he says to Mickey 18 this is punishment for what I did to my mom. I killed my mom if I did not touch that red button she'd still be alive Mickey 18 goes you know it wasn't the button you know it was just a car accident it was an accident and there's one of those you know mind fucks again it's what you do to yourself. Like Mickey 17's walking around with so much guilt in this movie constantly that he's trying to say all the bad stuff that's happening is because all this bad stuff he thinks he did but then you know that rational part of your brain who I feel that's what Mickey 18 represents and he's telling him no it wasn't our fault it was an accident so Mickey 17 starts running to the camera because they have a camera out there they can see them you know Alpha's watching and Kent Marshall Nasha and uh Nasha's captain everything is watching and they're wondering what what's going on so Mickey's kind of like saying you know uh he's saying the C3 C3 so Elpha goes what's he what the fuck is he doing so she goes he's saying C three so Nasha understands bring the baby that's one of their sex positions which is strange that it's the saving grace of all this Nasha's trying to tell them so Kenneth Marshall's like fuck that I want to go out here and make it look like I want peace they want they're gonna fake like that he's trying to go out there to you know make peace with the creepers and but they're really just bringing the bazooka to blow him up just to make it look like he's this stand-up guy. Um so Kenneth Marshall goes out and for his pretend you know peace treaty and all the creepers just start piling up on each other you know you can't because he's trying to get the big mama creeper. So they're all just swirling around and they're all climbing on top of each other and Mickey 18 kind of gives Mickey 17 this look and I'm still like I kind of figured that he was gonna sacrifice himself because remember even though they have baby Luko in there and they can give it back to the Mama Creeper they still shot that one little baby creeper and Mama Creeper ain't playing hey y'all kill one of ours one of yours has to die so Mickey 18 goes running after the vehicle that Kenneth Marshall's on he jumps in there and he's taking him down he's holding him down he's punching him then we cut back inside and um Nasha's captain finally grabs the fucking rope so Nasha can talk and she's like it's the baby we need to give mama creeper the baby and as the captain is holding onto the rope she uh Elpha grabs a knife and cuts his hands and baby creeper almost falls into the incinerator but our girl Nasha's fast as fuck you know like I said she's a firefighter and a police officer and all that she catches the baby creeper and she's taking it outside as fast as she can to the mama creeper. Um cut back to um Mickey 18 having Kenneth Marshall down in the vehicle and his hands hovering over the button the 18 he goes you're scared and Mickey 18 goes of course I'm scared to die you know but he looks at Mickey 17 and he looks at Nasha as Nasha's giving back the baby creeper to his mom and boom he blows up him and Kenneth Marshall takes himself out takes out Kenneth Marshall Elfa sees that also and just sobs because bitch you and your evil husband are finally going the fuck down y'all have been awful this whole movie um Mickey 17 and Nasha hug as they watch the big explosion so then a title card comes up it says six months later and Mickey's narrating that they all spent about six months in jail and they had the pro marshals and the anti marsh Marshall's fighting, you know, another thing that we can we can relate to in this world. But Nadia ended up running for head of a committee and she won. And they are on the ice planet. It's safe for them to breathe. They're gonna make life on it, and they're having the ceremony to blow up the human printer. Um, so as Nasha's making her speech and saying how she's so fucking happy to spend her life with Mickey Barnes, um, we go inside of Mickey's brain, and this is part of a movie I don't understand. I don't really understand. I think it was just maybe, you know, this guy is traumatized, you know. He died 17 times. So we cut to Mickey back near the cycler, you know, just looking into the fire where he was, his dead body was dumped 17 times. And he hears something above him, and remember, what's above him is the human printer. He goes up there, and guess who's up there? Elpha. And he goes, You're alive? Because the rumor had it is that Alpha was sent to a psych ward after Kenneth died, and that she killed herself. And she goes, I'm alive. So she starts beeping and booping on the human printer. And we're like, Who the fuck is she making? Like, who's coming out of there? And boom, it's Kenneth fucking Marshall. So he's like, Mickey's like, no fucking way, no way. Uh-uh. And he's like, You're not real. And she goes, touch me, I'm real. And Mickey goes, I asked myself, what would Mickey 18 do? And he goes, fuck off. Boom. And we're back at the ceremony. It was just all in his head. And they tell him to fucking push the button because Mickey gets the glory of blowing up the human printer, which is like the bane of his existence, pretty much. Mickey hits the button and boom, he blows it up. He gets to move forward in his life after all this time, he finally gets his happy ending. You know, and still, I told you that Mickey has a problem with guilt. And even in that moment, he goes, he feels guilty for not giving the other Mickeys a chance to live and grow, you know. But he tells himself it's okay for him to be happy. Finally, he understands that. And we cut to black. And the title says Mickey 17, and they switch to Mickey Barnes. And that's the end. So yeah, that's Mickey 17, a crazy, emotional, overlooked gem, incredible acting, visionary directing, and a story that hits deep about guilt, growth, and what it means to be human. Um, if you skip this in theaters, don't sleep on it when it comes to streaming. It's on HBO Max right now. Trust me, it's like worth a watch. This is one you need to experience. So, yeah, that was Mickey 17. So, what guys what do you guys think? Like, what movies have been overlooked? What is your idea is to get butts back in the seats in movie theaters and make the movie theater experience what it was. It used to be such an experience to go to movies. Like, just think back to 2019, like with Endgame and 20, was that 2021 with Spider-Man No May No Way Home. Like, that's all just so like dying so slowly. It's just a sad thing. I love the movies. I will always go to the movies, it will always be an experience for me. So yeah, but that's our show, guys. Um, thank you for listening to me narrate my first movie. It's a little choppy. I'm still not the proudest of it, but it was fun, and I can't wait to do more. I'm probably gonna do at least one a month. Um, my one next month is probably gonna be something spooky and bloody. So get ready for that. And as always, guys, thank you.
