Oh my poor dejected mourners,
Lift your eyes up to the sky,
Lift your gaze up to the cross
On which they lifted Him on high

But behold the cross is empty !
Go and seek Him in the tomb,
For His friends have laid Him safe
And sound in death’s dark womb.

What, it’s empty? - Then where is He? -
For they sealed and marked His place !

Without a single trace !

Have you gone to see His Father,
For He promised He’d go home,
