SPEAKER_01

Welcome everybody to the Bunku Show with Professor Cuckoo and Jim Bro. And in today's podcast, we're uh like always, we always want to talk to the professor, and I guess something's going on here.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, all right.

SPEAKER_01

Dancing to the banana, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Banana.

SPEAKER_00

No, yeah, we are the we're the best dance crew.

SPEAKER_01

The what? The best dance crew. The best dance crew? Oh my god. Alright, Professor. You got jokes today. But no, no, for real, for real. And and in all sincerity, what are we gonna be talking today? Oh no, man. I talked too smooth. Seriously.

SPEAKER_02

It was at this moment he knew. He fucked up.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. You don't know what are we talking about.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man, this yeah. Okay. The duck, huh? The duck. What duck? I don't see any duck. This duck. What duck? I don't see any duck. You know what? Run. Alright, alright, alright, alright. So we're stuffing looking. Uh I I okay. I guess why why the duck, man? Why are we bringing the duck? I I I actually have not seen the duck for a minute and it's coming out. Why? Why, Professor? Why are we talking about the duck? The viewer wants to see the duck. The viewers, oh man. So we give them the duck. Alright, well let's let's talk about the duck. Okay, so um fun facts about the duck. Uh so tell me. I you know what? I have a curious question. Yeah. Why why the ducks form a flying B? A flying B? B, B. B is in Victor.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you mean talk about V? Yes. Oh, okay, okay. Flying Flying B? I was saying how duck and B fly together. Oh. No, okay, okay. Anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, alright, alright, alright. No, no, no. For for real, for real.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay. Now, uh, there are a lot of things about you know about duck flight.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Right? So you know how they one of the things is that it's very good for like uh devine flying in that shape is very good for saving energy.

SPEAKER_01

Saving energy, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, conserving energy.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Like for example, like the the the the duck that are in the front, that is in the front, right? Uh flying. Uh it actually saves the energy of the for the duck that are on this behind him. For like 20 to 30 percent.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, okay, okay. Yeah, that's pretty interesting. That is interesting, okay. Yeah. So what about what about I know they have like a rotation going on. What is that all about? Rotation? Yeah, rotation.

SPEAKER_00

Like like when I'm dancing. Oh okay.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's it's it's like talking to like a Donald Duck.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so alright, alright, alright. No, right, my mustache is in my mouth again. Okay, okay. Alright, so rotation, right? Rotation. So, for example, you know the duck there in the front? Yeah. They're leading the pack and stuff like that, like save trying to help uh saving energy for the other duck, right, when when they're flying.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Right? Uh and that duck gets tired too.

SPEAKER_01

The duck gets tired too?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the leading duck gets tired too. So they have to rotate.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, alright. So just so they they have to rotate most of the time, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh like they have to rotate because you can't just have the leading duck keep flying in the front and spending a lot of energy, but then the other duck just chilling. Oh, okay, okay. So just like like I'm dancing, like rotating, and you should be dancing and rotating sometime too.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, okay, so what what about what about the range? The range of of them flying from one destination to another. I I heard it's pretty far.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, the range is like like for actually like uh the duck, they can actually fly like about 300 to 500 miles per day in a single day.

SPEAKER_01

That's a lot. That is a lot, that is a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and they they can actually migrate, you know, throughout the year. They can f they can fly thousands of miles, especially when they migrate. Oh man, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's uh so I'm assuming they have to have a big appetite, you know, before they fly, right?

SPEAKER_00

They kinda have. I guess they have to, you know, they'll be they have to be going to the buffet first. Oh my god. And then they what? They if they have to fly, they have to hmm, flying all that range makes sense to me. You know, that they have to like, oh actually, if they can fly that far, maybe we instead of like buying airplane ticket, we can just buy a duck. Just buy a duck and then we can fly to another country.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so we so so so what about um when it comes to communicating through with how do they communicate in what way?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, duck is quite interesting, they're quite actually quite social, socialized. They socialize, they're quite social with each other.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so how do they socialize?

SPEAKER_00

They allow them to communicate and also when they're flying in that particular pattern that we were talking about, also allow them to communicate with each other better too in that pet particular pattern. Okay, okay. Right? So it's pretty interesting, isn't it? It is, it is. So you know, like uh you want to learn how to communicate with each other using the duck weight?

SPEAKER_01

Sure, what's the way?

SPEAKER_00

Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack. Okay, your turn.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you mean like that weight?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, kind of that way. Got it, got it, got it. Um, okay, what about uh you know there's uh there's just something that I was gonna say. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So I heard a lot of Jeep owners, like I have a Jeep. Yeah, something about the duck, the the rubber duck. They'd be like people placing ducks. What what is that all about? Like who who started it?

SPEAKER_00

Oh somebody called Alison Pelleman.

SPEAKER_01

Alison Pelaman, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So why did like Paleman? My accent got this.

unknown

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Cool. So so why did she start it?

SPEAKER_00

She started it. The whole point of starting it, she was starting it as like what as a way to uh spread kindness. She was as an act of kindness for her.

SPEAKER_01

She did it.

SPEAKER_00

That was nice. That was really nice. Um she did it in the year 2000. 2000? No, no, no, 2020. 2020. I was flying too much uh with the duck. So then now I kind of kind of getting a little bit memory lost over here. Yeah, 2020.

SPEAKER_01

2020, I see.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so you know, and also too, you see a lot of Jeep owner like putting the duck uh on the Jeep to kind of signal to other Jeep owner that like, hey, Nice. Nig? I mean Nice Jeep. Okay, alright.

SPEAKER_01

So it's it's kind of way like giving appreciation. Yeah, okay, for all Jeep owners.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and giving other like Jeep owners.

SPEAKER_01

Let's let's make sure when you say Jeep, we're talking about more about Wranglers. Because there's Jeep and there's Wranglers. There's a Wrangler. There's a Wrangler is the difference between a Jeep, just so we can get that cleared up. Did you know that? Wrangler is different than a Jeep? Well, yeah, it's it's the same model. Like I actually I shouldn't say the same model. I think it's it's it's it's made. It's it's okay. This this sucks because I I seems like I don't know my cars that much, and I don't, but so there's a Jeep and there's a Jeep Wrangler. A Wrangler is more like you can it's like you can go off roading, you can do more things with it than just a Jeep. A Jeep is like more like uh kind of like a like a like a regular car compared to Wrangler.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I'm making sense, but I thought I thought I thought Wangler is a jean. Oh my god. It's a brand for jeans, right? Wangler? No. Haven't you heard of that name? Wangler?

SPEAKER_01

No, no. Jeans? No, no, no. Okay, all right, let's let's just get let's get back. Well, facts about the the ducks. Let's let's let's get into that. Okay, go to the waterproof. What is that whole situation about water?

SPEAKER_00

Waterproof! Oh actually, they have a an oil gland that like near their their tail.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that oil glands secretes oil, right? And that oil can spread throughout spread throughout the feather and make make the feather have a coal of oil on it. So it becomes like allow them to be like dry, keep them dry, and then for insulation.

SPEAKER_01

Makes sense, right? Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Why it makes so much sense to me, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it does make sense.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so you know, like just like oh where's my oil? Where's what? Where's my oil? Your oil. What did he say? That I like kind of create the lap.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, okay, what about flying speed? Flying speed? Yeah, the the the way how they fly. What's their speed? Do you think they fly fast?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, they can fly like they can fly like about uh like up to like 60 miles per hour. 60 miles per hour. That's crazy, man. That's crazy, man. So see again, remember earlier I say there's a bit instead of like taking airplane, I'll I'll just like buy a duck. Now, here instead of driving, I'll buy a duck too. So I can just like go everywhere with a duck. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Um save gas. You know what? I I guarantee you that there's something that you did not know. What did I not know? So, wasn't there someone that actually created from flying from seeing a duck, like the wings, how they created the the the plane, the whole structure of the plane. Uh-huh. Did you know about that?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know about that.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, the doctor cuckoo doesn't know about this, huh?

SPEAKER_00

Professor Cuckoo doesn't know a lot of things.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But if you think about it, I don't even know my name sometimes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. No, no, but if you think about it, like a plane, the way how the plane is, you know, and how the feathers are, the structure of the duck feathers is almost similar if you think about it.

SPEAKER_00

That makes sense. Right? Where did you get those information from?

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Did you make that up? I'm just saying, I was just thinking about it. I mean, I could be wrong.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay, all right. We gotta find out sometime. Sometime.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what did what did ducks eat? What does duck eat? Yeah, what did ducks eat?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, they eat they ducks are omnivore.

SPEAKER_03

What?

SPEAKER_00

What? Omnivore. You know what omnivore is uh no, what's omnivore? Uh omnivores are like uh the type of like type of like uh like living things that actually eat both meat and plants.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so that's what they mean. Oh yeah, so like eat both meat and plants. Yeah, so they can eat both. You know, you know how you know how it's like certain type of like organisms they can only eat plant they only eat plants. Some organisms only eat like meat, but like they like the the the duck are amnival.

SPEAKER_01

What about what about when it comes to temperature? I know the ducks fly certain seasons. Why is that?

SPEAKER_00

It's not they fly certain seasons, they have some pretty good ability to regulate their temperature. You know, it's pretty interesting. You know, like uh especially their feet.

SPEAKER_01

Their what? Their feet. Their feet?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, their feet. Their feet does not have nerve and doesn't have blood vessel. Oh so what does that mean? That means they can sleep in photo like really really cold water. Wow. Not sleep in like I'm saying they can swim in cold water because because their feet don't feel nothing if they swim in cold water, right? Can you imagine that we have that ability?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool. Yeah, that's pretty cool. I agree. What about the accent? The accent? Yeah, their accent.

SPEAKER_00

What accent?

SPEAKER_01

My accent? Their accent, the way they talk.

SPEAKER_00

The way they talk? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They have found some they have did some study that they found that like uh duck actually have accent. Kim? Yeah. Have you like do we have any duck that have accents? Like I have accent, you have accent. Do we have all have accent?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Like duck has has actually had accent. It's pretty cool, isn't it? Right. What about what about uh change gender? Change gender. What change gender?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, oh change gender. The gender change? Yes. Oh, it's quite interesting. Do you know that female duck actually just have one functional ovary? Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, interesting.

SPEAKER_00

So technically, if there's something like uh like a disease or like uh if the if the ovary gets too old and the the ovary doesn't work anymore, that duck functionally working like a male after they do the ovary.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, there you go. Professor Soul, well, that's her cue. Either way, that was great facts about knowing about the duck. Yep. Um, and like always, I want to say mahalo, thank you for everybody watching our show and listening to it, and you know, just uh supporting us and supporting Professor Cuckoo here. Um, but I mean this is Jim Bro saying to you guys, you know, stay strong, stay healthy, and stay stay strong, stay healthy. And I lost my point of dude. Um and um you mean stay ducky? Stay ducky, I guess that that would be another way of saying it. And you know, like um I guess if Professor Kyuku has anything to say, this would be the perfect time to say it.

SPEAKER_00

It's Professor Cuckoo, not Kyuku.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, all right, all right, okay, anyway.

SPEAKER_01

So what's going on here? But no.
