Tuesday's Community Prayer honors St. Catherine of Bologna.

Today's prayer is led by Jade Spears, Director of Mission Integration.

Take a moment to quiet yourselves in preparation for community prayer.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

St. Catherine of Bologna was a woman who dedicated her life to God, art, and service. She was a nun, a writer, and a painter. She experienced struggles and doubts like anyone else, yet she remained faithful and used her gifts to inspire others. St. Catherine believed that even the tiniest act of kindness, helping a fellow sister, praying quietly, or creating art, was a way to serve God. Lent reminds us to notice small ways we can live out love and kindness every day.

St. Catherine painted and wrote not for fame, but to share God’s love. You might not be an artist, but Lent is a chance to use your talents, sports, music, writing, even your sense of humor, to brighten someone else’s day or make the world better.

St. Catherine practiced discipline, prayer, and simplicity. Lent challenges us to do the same: maybe giving up something we enjoy or adding a prayer or good habit. These small sacrifices help us grow closer to God.

Even when she faced difficulties, St. Catherine trusted God’s plan. In Lent, we’re reminded to lean on God during hard times and trust that our struggles can lead to growth.

What small act of kindness, sacrifice, or creativity can I do this Lent to show love for God and others?

Lord, help each of us to use our gifts for good, to be kind in small ways, and to trust You even when life is hard. Teach us to grow closer to You this Lent, like St. Catherine did. Amen. Saints of God, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
