Wednesday's Community Prayer reflects on Isaiah 50:4.
Today's prayer is led by Jade Spears, Director of Mission Integration.
Take a moment to quiet yourselves in preparation for community prayer.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In Isaiah chapter 50 verse 4, we read: "The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to answer the weary with a word that will awaken them. Morning after morning he wakens my ear to hear as disciples do."
This passage reminds us that God calls us to share His Word, to listen attentively, and to maintain a positive and loving mindset. God has entrusted us with the ability to encourage, uplift, and guide others through His teachings, rather than spreading rumors or gossip. Those who faithfully share God’s Word and live according to His guidance are promised a life of joy and eternal happiness in Heaven.
Reflecting on this, we should ask ourselves:
- How can I actively spread the good news of God in my daily life?
- How can I refrain from speaking ill of others or engaging in gossip?
- How can I love others as You love me, Lord?
- How can I treat others as I wish to be treated?
Dear Lord, even when it is difficult, please help me live according to Your Word. Strengthen me to love all people, even when it challenges me, and guide me to be a source of encouragement, kindness, and light in the world. Amen. Let us pray our closing response together: Jesus, Remember Me. St. Joseph, Pray for Us.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
