Tuesday's Community Prayer honors St. Gianna Beretta Molla.
Today's prayer is led by senior Madison Rambo.
Take a moment to quiet yourselves in preparation for community prayer.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
St. Gianna Beretta Molla was a normal young woman. She loved skiing, hiking, and spending time with friends. She studied hard, became a doctor, and cared deeply about helping others, especially mothers and babies. She shows that holiness isn’t about being perfect; it’s about loving well in the life you’re given.
When St. Gianna became pregnant with her fourth child, she faced a serious medical complication. Doctors told her that treatment might save her life but would endanger her baby. Gianna chose to protect her child, trusting God even when it was difficult and scary. She once said, “If you must decide between me and the child, do not hesitate: choose the child.”
For us today, her story isn’t just about one heroic moment, it’s about daily courage: Choosing kindness when it’s easier to fit in; Respecting your dignity and the dignity of others; Standing firm in your values, even when it feels uncomfortable; and Trusting that your life has a purpose, even when the future feels uncertain. St. Gianna reminds us that your life matters, your choices matter, and love often asks something of you, but it also makes you truly alive.
Good and gracious God, as we learn about St. Gianna Molla, we ask that You shower us with the same joy, courage, and deep love in every part of our lives that St. Gianna had. Help us to trust God with our future, especially when we feel pressure, fear, or doubt. Teach us to value ourselves and others, to stand strong in what is right, and to love generously. Pray for us that we may have the courage to make good choices, to respect the gift of life, and to become the women God created us to be. Amen. Saints of God, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
