Tuesday's Community Prayer honors Our Lady of Fátima.
Today's prayer is led by Jade Spears, Director of Mission Integration.
Take a moment to quiet yourselves in preparation for community prayer.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
When Mary appeared at Fátima, she didn’t choose powerful or popular people. She chose three ordinary kids. They were young, unknown, and probably didn’t feel “ready” for something so big. And yet, when Mary asked them to pray, to make sacrifices, and to trust God, they said yes. That’s what makes their story so real for us.
We have pressure to fit in, to look a certain way, to always have life figured out. It can feel like our worth depends on what others think, how many likes we get, or how perfect we seem. But Mary’s message at Fátima cuts through all of that. She reminds us: You don’t have to be perfect to be chosen by God. Your quiet “yes” matters, even if no one else sees it. Prayer isn’t about being flawless. It’s about being real with God. Mary invited the children into a life of courage, not comfort. They were misunderstood, doubted, and even mocked. Still, they stayed faithful.
That’s the challenge for us: Will we choose kindness when it’s easier to judge? Will we stay true to who we are when it’s tempting to blend in? Will we make space for God in a world that constantly distracts us?
Fátima isn’t just a story from the past. It’s an invitation right now. Mary is still asking for hearts that are willing to trust, to pray, and to love even when it’s hard. The Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Fátima tomorrow.
God, Thank You for the example of Mary, Our Lady of Fátima, who reminds us to trust You with simple, courageous hearts. Help us to say “yes” to You in our daily lives, in our friendships, our choices, and our struggles. Give us strength when we feel pressure to be someone we’re not, and remind us that our true worth comes from You. Mary, gentle Mother, walk with us as you walked with Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta. Teach us to pray with sincerity, to love with courage, and to remain faithful even when it’s difficult. Lead us closer to your Son, Jesus, every day. Amen. Saints of God, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
