Wednesday's Community Prayer reflects on Psalms 113:4.

Today's prayer is led by Jade Spears, Director of Mission Integration.

Take a moment to quiet yourselves in preparation for community prayer.

In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In Psalm chapter 113 verse 4 we read, “High above all nations is the LORD; above the heavens his glory.”

High school can feel like a place where grades, sports, social media, friendships, and fitting in determine your worth. It's easy to become focused on what others think or to compare yourself to the people around you. Psalm chapter 113 verse 4 reminds us that God is greater than all of these things. His glory is above every nation, every trend, every achievement, and every opinion.

This verse encourages us to remember that God is the one who deserves our highest attention and respect. When we put Him first, we begin to see our challenges from a different perspective. A difficult test, a disappointing game, or conflict with friends can feel overwhelming, but they do not define who we are. Our identity comes from being loved by God, whose power and glory are greater than anything we face.

Knowing that God reigns over everything also gives us confidence to make good choices, even when they are unpopular. We can stand up for what is right, show kindness to those who are left out, and remain honest, trusting that pleasing God matters more than gaining approval from others.

As we go through our day, remember that the God who is above the heavens also knows each of us personally. He cares about our hopes, struggles, and future. When we keep our eyes on Him, we can face school, friendships, and life's challenges with courage, humility, and hope.

Lord, thank You for being greater than anything we will face today. Help us to keep our focus on You instead of worrying about what others think. Give us the courage to make choices that honor You, to treat others with kindness and respect, and to trust that You are guiding our lives. May everything we do bring glory to You. Amen. St. Joseph, Pray for Us.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
