SPEAKER_15Oh, for the oh, that right there.
SPEAKER_08What I yeah, I'm prepared as usual. But you don't know, but you're not.
SPEAKER_15I'd like to go into my notes.
SPEAKER_08But no, but listen, y'all, um, so you know, uh, we always talk about jail. We talk about you know the serious seriousness of jail. And uh when you have jail in prison or or these um, you know, facilities where they house individuals uh to serve uh serious time, you know, a lot of times, you know, individuals don't understand what to expect once they want until they get there. And it's a whole different learning curve uh as far as you know getting adjusted and adapted to your new place of living where you're gonna be spending a substantial amount of time. Sometimes you're gonna be there for you know new years, and sometimes you're gonna be there for the rest of your life. We have spoken to individuals on this platform a lot of times, and there are individuals who, like I said, who have life sentences, or those who have served time and coming home. The one thing that they all have in common is the um uh post-traumatic stress syndrome. A lot of them are damaged, a lot of them are still trying to figure it out in society. A lot of the men are uh, you know, are and women are just you know still battered and damaged mentally from serving these uh serving time. So ultimately, once again, it's leading me to the the uh disclaimer. Uh Tells from the Jails is not designed to uh you know promote going to prison. Ultimate goal is to deter individuals from going to prison and uh deter individuals from you know losing their life to the streets. So that's what we're here for today. And I want to thank everybody who's been supporting everything that we have going on at Tells from the Jails because without y'all, we would not be able to do what we do. Uh, we do have another live event scheduled for October. It will be another sold-out event. We'll be uh, you know, we'll listen to tickets very, very soon for this um October event as well.
SPEAKER_15So, yeah, let's get to this, man. So I wanted to start off the day, man. Shout out to uh Tevin Former, man, guy that I'm getting real acquainted with, man. And he said something if a lot of you guys, man, that don't know Tevin Foreman is a boxer out of what Philadelphia, right? Correct, yes. And he said something that was profound to me in one of his videos, man, one of his reels. And I'm gonna play it over the phone. You'll just hear his voice and what he got to say is about two minutes and 30 seconds. And this starts, this right here is the start to even a law, a law-abided citizen life or a life of crime. And when I say this to start, meaning you have the choice. You have the choice. I want y'all to listen to these man's words clearly and hear what he has to say. I'm gonna play it for you with the phone where y'all can hear it. Let me turn it up.
SPEAKER_04People probably see me like, yo, I want to be where he is. But it took me a very long time to really swear box.

SPEAKER_08It really yeah, it bite up, it then, you know, certain things they'll block it on YouTube. But the message probably, you know, do you know what the message was that Ted was trying to play? The message was what was it about?
SPEAKER_15Um, I gotta go back and look at it again.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but shout out to Tevin Farmer, whatever you got going. But certain things uh um we when we uh when we we on uh the platform, uh they'll block certain things and they'll uh you know uh block you from being paid for your videos. You have like certain music that you don't own and things of that nature. So everybody on YouTube should they they know that. So with pauses, we can't play out there with just like a something that he was just playing, uh verbatim.
SPEAKER_15Um he was just talking, but it was a melody in the back. It wasn't no rap or nothing, it was just uh music.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, so they'll um they'll they'll they'll block it. But um, so yeah, y'all, we we had some great guests this week, man. And um, and uh, I know a lot of y'all was kind of tuning into a lot of the guests that we had this week. We had, you know, uh just recently released the freeway uh episode yesterday, and um it was a real powerful episode from uh from Freeway. We had a lot of good guests as well. Tech Siggo came through and uh you know shared the actual set with us, man, and it's and spoke about his experiences in jail. Um but like I said, everybody who who's who's been to prison, they have um, you know, they have they have the the post-traumatic stress uh syndrome. And a lot of a lot of people are trying to figure it out, man. And some people just take take longer than others. Um, you know, but it's up to the individuals. I had the family members, the friends, people out here who are uh supporting these individuals to come home and sometimes be be be patient, you know, uh with helping people get to a certain point. But ultimately, those who come home too, it's not an it's not an excuse for y'all to come home and use that as an excuse to why you can't succeed or why you or to why you can't try. You know what I mean? Uh we've all been tested with certain things in life, not saying that some worse than others, but if you have been to jail, that doesn't mean that's end-all-b doesn't mean that you are that far uh behind A-bars that you can't catch up because you can. We see stories like Wallow, uh stories like uh, you know, uh different individuals who came home from jail, uh Texago, uh Raheem, you know, he's he's doing his thing. You have a lot of people who come home who are trying to figure it out. Um but at the end of the day, like I said, do not, if you if you have spent time in jail, do not come home and think that you're too far behind the eight-ball ways that you can't catch up. That's just my opinion. How do you feel about that, yo?
SPEAKER_15Same thing. You know what I mean? Don't fall behind it, man. Do what you got to do. Stay out of jail.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Why do you think that um people that come home from jail, right? Um, sometimes they can get, you know, just they to get stagnant.
SPEAKER_15Why is that? They run out of patience. Motherfuckers say fuck sitting around seeing it through. That's the problem with me. I only could talk about me. But I think another person will go through that. But you know, your paces get short. Paces get real short, man. When you're trying to do right, when you're trying to do right, it takes long. Take real long.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Shout out to Doc. Shout out to everybody that's in the chat. Uh Darskin Beauty, James the Flames, uh, you know, who else is in there? You know, but you know, when we when we sit back and look at, you know, um a lot of the, you know, I'll just go, I'll just speak about the females that come up here on on the set. And the females speak about their experiences of spending time behind behind a wall. Uh, their experiences are a little different because it doesn't seem as as uh ruthless as uh with the violence, but they do they have experienced, you know, the actual the effects of of being around or being in places where their privacy is invaded, their you know, their livelihood is is uh at risk, you know. Uh, you know, they're they're going through their own things of being away from the family. But do you think prison is more difficult on men or women?
SPEAKER_15I can't tell you about women. I don't know how it is for women. I ain't never been over in a women's facility. I just can only tell you about a man. I can't I can't even tell you who who is more difficult for. I could only assume like women don't get no visits like men from what I've been hearing. I just don't know nothing about the women's facility. I you know, I'm not I don't think they over there wrecking like the men wrecking. Then again, they could be over there wrecking like that. I don't think they gotta go through protocol who told or who did not tell. I if I would had to make a guess, because I don't know, I would say men probably is going through a worse uh situation than the women do.
SPEAKER_08Hmm. You know, and um women when they get up here, you know, do the emotional aspect for them to actually really even go even go through. Do you think that the prison systems uh design things a little bit more lenient for the for the women than they do for the men?
SPEAKER_15I don't know. Again, I don't know. I haven't been in a women's facility. I haven't even, you know, I have we have sit up here with women that, you know, tell us stories or whatever, but they stories sound just like the men's stories, uh except for the violence. They lock in like we do, they gotta go to commissary like we do, they get time, they doing their time. You know, I would I would assume it's the same except for the violence. I assume.
SPEAKER_08And, you know, a lot of times, like, you know, uh like I just speak about the the women in these in these facilities and things that they have have going on. Um it's like the people forget about the woman faster than they get forget about the men.
SPEAKER_15Yeah, that's what I've been hearing. I I haven't witnessed that per se. I don't know if you have or not, but I haven't I I don't know nobody or woman that I know personally that went to jail. So I, you know, these are people that I'm just meeting and hearing the stories about. But you know it'll come to you different from a person that you know. I uh do you know anybody that went to jail that's a woman came home?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but speaking about like I'm talking about off of the actual experiences, because what they come up here they talk about is they they they it seems like almost from the from the from the get-go, nobody's ride with them at all. Men, you have we have heard instances where as though the men have you know had a significant other who left, you know, left them alone or whatever the case may be, right when they got sentenced or left them alone, left them alone when uh after doing time, she moved on. But normally the women say they go in there really by themselves, unless they was married to a man. So I never have never heard a story of them. But I always heard what they said is like they go in there by themselves, and then automatically is like they're they're alone from the from the gate, and that's why they move on to you know the relationships inside inside the prison system, you know, from what they said, man. Um but ultimately ultimately the the effects of uh of jail are something that we're trying to deter. We're trying to help people uh to get past that and then and and avoid going to prison. But like you said, you know, it's so enticing the fast money, the the lifestyle, or to be able to obtain things at such a quick, quick rate that a lot of times we don't even pay attention to the consequences because we're so focused on uh trying to obtain, you know, uh, you know, comfortability, I should say, or or the whole thing is that too, man.
SPEAKER_15See, like you can't teach an old dog new tricks, man. It'd be hard, motherfucker, going there, man, 20, 30 years, man, coming out here well off into a big age of life, man. And then now you have to make a dramatic, shocking change to this, to the law about the city. Nine times out of ten, that shit ain't gonna work out, bro. And that's just my thought on it. It's gonna be a lot of men that fell at that task. All you knew in your life is a life of, you know, cutting corners, you know, crime or whatever it may be to land you in there. You go do 20, 30 years, you behind an eight bar, and then you 40, 50 years old trying to get it together. How many men do you think actually can get that right? Like the odds of it, like the odds is damn than for the ones that get it right. Yeah, see, it's easy to sit in one place and you know talk about the grind and made it to the grind and got accomplished things, and they've been on that and they never have been tested with other things that took them away for years that didn't try to come back and do it. Not to say it can't be done, but it's far less than none, far less than none, man. For the ones that hang in there, hold it out, man. Take my hat off to you, man. Kudos to you. But it's gonna be a lot of men that come home, and a lot of women that come home from doing long, extensive time, man, and just like they say, the old saying, you can't get a zebra new stripes. Motherfucker, just think about it. You teach a motherfucker 50 years that come home and you tell him that like your job ever all this man knows all his life is jail and crime. Do you know how long it's gonna take to rehabilitate him to put him on that path? Especially if he ain't got the proper support. And I ain't talking about financial, I'm talking about more emotional, mental, physical support, meaning I'm gonna take him and show you this way. But a lot of people give up, they ask questions, oh, how much time do we need? Or because they don't know nothing about that lifestyle. That's why you should stay far away from it, because you are never identified with that person ever. And I get that too. You don't know nothing about it, so you know you just you just never know, man. When you when you're coming from a when you have a law-abiding person that never been through them trials and tribulations, then you have a dude that did that for them to match the ominous on a dude that ain't never been in trouble before. If he can't maintain that, he feels as though there is a a cutoff extension to where's the limit of helping this person, then he might as well not even get into it because there is no timetable on when this man or woman is gonna get right. You gotta think, if you're being realistic to yourself, motherfucker just been out here 20, 30 years committing crime, get caught, 30 years in jail, 25 years in jail, 50 something when they come home, mid the in the 50s, even the early 40s or in the four or 40s. How much time do you think that motherfucker is gonna need to get on the other side of the fence?
SPEAKER_08I think that um, I think that for for me, I mean, I I I have it, but I I've I've seen a lot of people like that went to jail and came home. And I seen some that came home and hit the ground running. Um, and I seen some that came home and took uh more time than others to kind of you know get on on their feet. Um my observation from what I seen from those and those individuals that I seen get on their feet into those that are stagnant, um, I think it's work ethic. I think that is work ethic. I think that is preparation before you get out. I think it's preparation when you do get out. I think that those people who prioritize uh themselves first. Um, like we have I got we have friends, close friends, and that came home, hit the ground, hit the ground, got out here, tried to figure it out. But we have what I see from them, the ones that are trying to do something different. They're just putting themselves first and prioritizing, you know, learning as much as they can about stuff. And then ultimately ultimately, like you said, it starts really for people, individuals. I think that's it starts for when they inside the jail, starting to prepare themselves to get out here and be able to.
SPEAKER_15That's where it's supposed to start at. But for the one in jail, he don't know what he's going home to. You can apply yourself, take all the classes and all that. That shit don't mean nothing. All that shit that you put yourself through, and that shit ain't nothing of what you ready to go into. I just sat there and did it. I sat there and did it. I'm talking to you from truth, not from what I think or what I heard or what somebody called home and told me. Bro, you can equip yourself for so much shit, man. You doing 20, 30 years in penitentiary, man. You can equip yourself for all this, and when you get out here, you like an throne in a cold ocean. It ain't nothing that what you thought you was equipped. Like I told you, they don't give you the proper stuff to train yourself how to fill out an application nowadays and how everything is uh a digital, you ain't doing nothing manually on the paper no more.
SPEAKER_08They ain't giving you the proper education how things how long do it take you to learn how to fill an application on a computer.
SPEAKER_15Well, I'm just saying it don't take you long at all once you apply yourself to do it, but it's a lot of people that got short attention spans. What you think the ADHD is? That's real. If a motherfucker don't get on it and can't figure it out, he'd be done with it because he got a short attention span. But I got that. It's a lot of people that got that, but they do have but people don't do shit like how you do it. So I don't want you to make it be like, yeah, I accomplished this and I did this, so everybody can be able to find a bit. No, I'm not getting frustrated. I'm it's just a personal uh uh a Topic for me because I go through that. So it's not a frustration, it's passion. Okay. It's not frustration, it's passion. It's passion, but you don't nobody know.
SPEAKER_08You can't downplay me. No, I'm not downplaying you. And in my views, I'm not downplaying. Yeah, we didn't.
SPEAKER_15No, I'm not I'm not downplaying you. I'm telling you, a person can't see. I didn't downplay you. I said a person can't see that. If they didn't never been through that, did they expect and assume that a person should get it right? Like that, nah. Nah, yeah, a person should be trying to get it right and do that. But he this person this is a real live topic, bro. Yeah, it's a lot of men. Way more men that failed and succeed that come home from doing a lot of time, man. But way more men. But I mean, and you might be right. But if I'm sitting back and look at this, why you think the recidivation rate is so high, bro? Every 10 men they let out of jail, nine of them come back. That's crazy. Every 10 men they let out of jail, nine will return. Yeah, but that's a crazy. And you think a lot of them didn't try? You know how many dudes I was in R deck with and all that, and see them dudes actually planning, getting little joints, getting little, but shit ain't working out. Now, but granted, the the tool that a convict needs, his most valuable tool to him is not a gun, not a sword, not a pen, not a car, not a house. His most valuable tool that a person with a lot of time he's going to need is patience. He ain't got none of that. There's no way in the world he's going to say he's his absolute zero percent he's he survives out in society without return to jail, going getting killed. It is no way in the world.

SPEAKER_15Patience. Patience is your biggest weapon coming home from jail. Ain't nothing gonna come overnight. Motherfucker used to running up in banks. That should take what, 30 seconds? Come out of there with a couple hundred thousand or whatever you came out with, selling coke. That takes a couple seconds, you just sitting there and not do that. It ain't hard to sell coke. All you gotta do is have some good graders shit, and then you're out there and you're doing it.
SPEAKER_08It's all a person knows. But the thing, the thing I want to say is, because we because we because we we can we can sit back and look and say about a convict, right, who's been in jail for 20 years, and and say, like, all right, well, he um gotta come home and figure it out, which is absolutely positively true. There are some things he has to figure out. But I think that from my from what I think, and I'm not knocking what you what you say, but from what I think and from what I observe, I observe the fact that if a person really, really wants something and really, really, really goes after it, like it's like if it gives like a thousand percent and really want something, like I want to learn how to fly advocation, I want to learn how to figure out how to go on job interviews, I want to and do that and block out. Sometimes it can be bad company, hanging in, hanging in the wrong places, idle time. If you get disciplined in doing things that are right, because even people on the streets gotta learn who had even gone to jail, gotta learn discipline. The most important thing in life, anything that you're doing, is discipline. If you're disciplined and focus on what you want to do for you and what you gotta do, like forget everything, everybody else, forget the you know, friendships, and right now we still cool, we still friends, but I gotta focus on what I gotta focus on because I gotta make sure that I'm cool. I think that if any when people take take that mentality, because I had to do that on the streets, I had to take that mentality and say, I gotta focus on me and get me right and figure out things for me that way I can help everybody else. If you do that, a person focuses on that themselves and comes out every day with a plan, all right, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna write this down. This is tomorrow, I'm gonna tackle this task. It's all about preparation. If a person really prepares themselves to sit down and really want it, because this is it's all yeah, like you could sit out, sit back and talk to the person all day, all day about doing this, doing that, doing it. But a person is gonna show what they really want to do. And what they really want to do is what they're gonna do. They're gonna go out here. If they really wanna uh wanna wanna try and get a job and want to do it, then they're gonna they're gonna do that. But if they really, if they want to run the streets and they want to do this and hang this, that's what they're gonna do. So my thing is, I think that, and then speaking about the people that's out here in the streets who are already out here, every people out here because things change every day. They got AI now, the job education is just changing every day. Us as normal citizens who haven't gone to jail are still trying to figure out these new things and so forth. So you see in here, the technology is in the studio, all this stuff. You got you got you got two nephews in here, or two that that being here that came in here and just figured out. They didn't know how to do any of this stuff. You know what I'm saying? They came in here and plied themselves and tried to figure it out, and they did. It's just all about you, in my opinion, of what you want out of life and how you want to do it. Because uh an excuse is an excuse. And we can't be in it in the mindset of making excuses because people make excuses and they're making excuses and then they end up in back in jail. That's what it is. I think that's the for me, I'm not saying nobody in my opinion. I think that the excuse making, but we have podcasts like ours, other podcasts that are actually speaking to people about about um about not going back to jail. We're speaking to the masses about not going to jail. We had people call, I had somebody call me today just now, excuse me, before the podcast, before we came in here and sat down, I was talking to somebody about um, you know, uh the message, the positive message of tells from the jails and tells from the jails and and what it's doing and how we how they want to uh get it into these uh juven new juvenile facilities into into these schools and get the message out there because they understand that positivity. Um we have podcasts that speak in positivity with real life stories, people need to see it. But I just think that if we all come together and everybody just stay focused, we can accomplish everything. I think the issue, main issue, is that we don't, for one, we don't really stay together all the time. And people, you know, you know, don't have the patience to come out here and really try to make something happen. I think that starts with you. Focus on you. If anybody come home from jail, anybody watching this, watching this, right? Even if anybody from my opinion, anybody out here on the streets that been out here, you know what I'm saying, people, places, and things is very, very important. Focus on you. Yeah, I'm from West Philly and I got friends out west and all. I don't go down there, I'm shame to hang down there. And it's not because I'm not uh I I don't I don't have I don't love them or I don't or I don't uh care about them. It's that what I why do I have time to waste to sit down and talk about stuff that I don't need to talk about like five five days a week. I gotta I gotta I gotta figure out what I gotta do. I gotta figure out the things in the morning, and then you can say, oh well, you got so much going on. I got stuff going on because I got stuff going on, if it makes any sense. I'm trying to do different stuff to keep things going. I'm not sitting around shooting the breeze, talking about stuff, doing stuff and hanging out on places I shouldn't hang out because I have I have things that I want to do. You know, I mean that if that makes sense. So I I just would advise anybody to you know put yourself first, man. Focus on you, do what you gotta do for you. Something is is moving for you, if something is moving in the right direction, give it your all. If you see one thing, one thing going in the right direction, I don't care if it's like taking a half a step, give it your all. Go in there and just figure out as much as you can about that one thing. You know, I did it. I did it. I did it. You know, man. And I and I and I once I see one thing going in that direction, I I just I just kept going and giving it my all into that direction. And it it it it it'll pay off. So we gotta get out of the fact that a matter of uh making excuses. I got you see, you see people in wheelchairs. I know I know a guy, I know a guy, I'm keeping I know a guy right now that's in a wheelchair that can't even walk. This guy owns like a hundred and something properties. He can't even, he can't even walk. And he and he and he got a messed up hand. Whereas though he can't even, like he can't even write really. He can't even, he gotta he gotta do hold a cell phone with his left hand. And he's out here, he can't walk, can't do nothing. And he owns over a hundred properties. You know what I'm saying? So for me, I'm like, damn, I see him. I ain't I ain't got no excuse. I got I got a friend that's in jail that's in Phoenix right now. He in feet he's in prison. He's in prison right now. He owns multiple home care agencies and he owns properties. He's in jail.
SPEAKER_15Did he start this one while he went to jail or did he start this before he went to jail? In jail, why while he was in jail? Oh, he started all this, this whole enterprise he had in jail. Yes. Oh, okay, all right. Well then, yeah, he's doing good.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he did it, he did all this, he did all this, all this in jail. And this another guy, I know. Well, he had he had he had he had matter of fact, he did have a few things going on. But but he uh now he has things, but he's in jail. He got life in prison. And um he has he has multiple home cage. Actually, interviewing Lamar, Lamar Ogersby. That's my guy Lade. Lady has a lot going on out here, out here while he's in um while he's in prison. I got another guy that's in prison that owns properties, owns businesses while he's in jail. So it's just it's just a matter of just applying yourself and just wanting to do uh do things. I just in my opinion, in my opinion, I just think that it all boils down to you. But anybody watching this podcast, anybody trying to obtain things, man, you know, listen, listen, yo, sky's a limit, man. You know, uh you know, sky's a limit. We sit, we we can sit here all day and make an excuse why we can't do. I bet you if it was a fire in this building right now and in on in all the windows and doors locked, we would find a way to we're gonna pick up a chair and bust these windows out and try to get out of here. We're gonna jump three stories, break our legs, and try to get up out of this fire. So you gotta have that same mentality when we trying, when you're trying to make it, you're trying to be successful. You can't sit back and think that, you know, and and put all these things in front of yourself, like these put these obstacles here like they can't be overcome. So if you're in jail, you're coming home and you're trying to be successful, like stop making excuses. Stop, just stop with all that, yo. Don't come, don't come making excuses. Don't sit up here and I can't do this, I can't do that. Nah, man. We it's 2026.
SPEAKER_15So everybody that's out here not getting it right is making excuses. That's what they're doing. Yes, that's what you're telling me.
SPEAKER_08Nine time out of ten, yeah.
SPEAKER_15Well, that boy.
SPEAKER_08Or or or or or or whole world is making excuses. If they're not making excuses, what they're doing is they're holding themselves back by it. Because I know niggas that try and just I'm like, damn.
SPEAKER_15He's trying like shit.
SPEAKER_08Nobody never, nobody never, nobody, nobody who tried never never obtain, don't obtain nothing. Not saying that everybody who's out here trying, I mean they got they're gonna be driving to Benz or driving to Bentley or Rolls Royce are gonna have a hundred properties. That's not always the outcome for everybody. But they're able to provide for their family. They got a roof over their head, you know what I'm saying? They got a car they probably driving. They may got a they got a job that pays them every day. It's all about obtaining something. You know what I'm saying? We can't sit, we can't look back and look at these people, uh the Kardashians or Brian James or this person over here and think that everybody's gonna have $100 million. That's not reality. That's not now now that's not now we we can all make it and be successful, but everybody is not gonna be able to probably get to get to that level. And that's okay. But as long as you're able to get out and do something that you want to do, be able to have a job and provide for your family and be able to go out and try to make something happen. That's uh that's the key, starting somewhere. So if you're watching this podcast and you and you're about to come home, or you got a loved one that's about to come home, you know, like when they come home making excuses, man, like we we're not, we're not doing that. Or you can't read. All right, go to school and learn how to read then. You can't write, we're gonna cut you on this program because there are programs that are free that you can go and learn how to read and write. If you can't read and write, but you can't get frustrated and say, Man, I'm quitting and go back to the streets.
SPEAKER_15But you know how, see, we can't the conversation would never go cross with you, correct, because you don't you haven't been through it and you don't know nothing about it, and that's a fact. It's hard for an older person. It's hard not to say it can't get done, but you're gonna have a lot of older people that don't make it. We know it's hard. All right, if you want it like wanting what? Like like it bad enough you can get it. Nine times out of ten niggas that's coming home 45, 50, you're not gonna become no millionaire. But but is people coming? Everybody comes. All that that that's not happening. So a million a millionaire is end all be all? No, that's not end-all be all, but you goddamn damn near near it. SPEAKER_08Whatever, whatever it is you listen, if you listen, man, and I'm not knocking Burger King of McDonald's. If you're working at if you're working at Merc, if you're working at Burger King of McDonald's, you're on time, you coming in to work every day on time, you come in to work and you smile, you're putting the best foot forward in McDonald's. And if you get another job at the McDonald's, you do the same thing there. And then you do this, do the same thing there, same thing there. Like, people don't understand. Like, I like I left the streets and I and I started working. I worked at Comcast. And if anybody that know, I was in com worked at Comcast and I worked in um uh customer service. I didn't know nothing about customer service as far as you know learning how to, you know, system and and I know how to sell stuff, but I didn't I didn't know I didn't understand Comcast. I didn't really understand things like things of that nature. But I got there in Comcast, and what I did, I went to I won, I won a business champion joint every year. And I went over to the sales of retention, and everybody watching that know what that worked with me and these place there just facts. I went there, I applied myself every day, learned the system. I didn't know, I was, I was from the streets, I didn't know nothing. I knew I knew supply and demand, I knew quality, I knew all this stuff from the streets, but I didn't know how to how to work, I didn't know how to use a computer, I didn't know none of that stuff, but I got in there and I sat there and I and I learned and I figured out. So I went through my trial tribulations too. But they got this thing called called President's Club in uh at Comcast. It's Comcast Business Center. I won it every year. I won it every single year, but I didn't get it by, and everybody who knows know I came to my first year and won it. But they they, you know, every year I was there, and they had something called the called the shark tank at Comcast. I was in the Shark Tank from my first month there. But it all comes from you applying yourself and learning yourself. And then I left Comcast and I applied those those things that I learned from the street, and I learned from the business aspect of Comcast, and I implemented it into my daily routine as business. So I feel like anybody can accomplish anything. I don't feel like I don't feel like there's nobody better. I don't feel I feel like everybody can be a millionaire, but it's it's just up to you. It's up to you. If you if you believe that you're gonna be a millionaire, go ahead and go do it. You know what I'm saying? But if you want to be a bummer, you want to you want or you want to if you want to be a drug dealer, there's a lot to come with that. If you want to lay down and give up, it's a lot to come with that. But as long as you have breath in your lungs and opportunity out here to make something happen, man, ain't no excuse, man. Every day should be your day together, try to make something happen. I feel like that. Like I'm not, I can't really, I can't depend on nobody to do nothing for me. You know what I'm saying? I can't depend on nobody to do nothing for my children. I can't depend on nobody to do nothing. I can't. If if if it falls, if I fall off, even if I may have people that may want me that may want to help me, I can't look at it like like they're gonna help me. I gotta go out here and put my best foot forward every day and start making excuses to why I can't, I will learn it. Like we sit here, right? These phones, people know how to work. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. So you can't take that time that you on TikTok, put the phone down. Come home from jail, put the phone down, bro. Put the phone down, sis. What you doing? You know, figure out how to do a business plan, figure out how to, you know, learn a business, learn a trick, whatever. Put the phones down. That's the problem. We got the phones in our hand all day, like just looking at everybody else succeed and start not looking at ourselves trying to succeed. We know more about somebody else's life and what they got going on on their page. You know what I'm saying? We were looking at, you know, girls looking at men and men looking at women all day on Instagram. We know everything about her, everything about him, but we don't know nothing about how we how we're gonna get to a dollar. We gotta focus and take the time and opportunity and then play and apply it so that we can be successful. Do not feel like you cannot become a millionaire. Do not feel like somebody is better than you because they got money. They just work hard to get it. So, you know, I just think that anybody coming home that's watching this podcast and that's seeing what we got going on, ain't no excuses, man. If you can't read or write, bro, learn how to read the right system. If you can't, you know what I'm saying? You don't know how to, you know, if you come home with these phones, I I just talking to a guy came home for doing 40 years. Talking to him for 40 something years. Know what he said? I'm just learning how to work this phone, man. I didn't take me time, but I'll I'm I'm figuring it out. He figured out how to work that phone, and he just did 40 years in prison. So it can't, so so you you you make an excuse why you can't follow a job application, why you can't be trying to find why you can't be somewhere to try to get a job every day, why you can't be applying something every day is an excuse. It's an excuse, man. And and nothing wrong with having a nine to five, man. There's nothing wrong with that. A nine to five beats a 10 to 20 all day. So we want to either we want to be successful or not. And success doesn't always mean you gotta be rich. It doesn't mean that. Success is mean that you had to provide for yourself and your family, however that is. You ain't gotta have a million dollars, everybody gotta have a Bentley, everybody gotta have Rurals Royals, everybody gotta have a Hellcat, you can have a car. And you taking care of your family, you winning. You're winning. You know what I'm saying? And if you out here breaking law, you're losing because eventually something's gonna happen to you, you can go to jail. You'll catch a bad break. It's inevitable. And then what happens is now your family really gonna be in a bad space because you're in jail, you're not out here with them. So that's just how I see it, man. Well, you know, what advice would you have, you know, for people that's coming home, young? What would you what would you say to them, the people that's coming home? Or what what would what advice would you have to them? Like, you know, because you came home and went back, what would what do you think of some of the child tribulation that maybe? From the beginning, patience.
SPEAKER_15That's the only advice I got. I don't have no other advice. If you ain't got that, then I don't know what to tell you. You know, I don't stop a man from what he's doing. If you see fit, you ain't got no patience, you're gonna go do that, stand on what you do. My whole thing is stand on what you do. Don't implicate nobody if you're taking the wrong curve. But in order to have, you know, success in a law-abiding citizen lifestyle in an older age after being incarcerated in the hell with all that, you know, people say making excuses is not an excuse, it's a fact. Man, a lot of shit comes with a motherfucker that's doing a I don't know too many successful motherfuckers that's coming out of jail after doing 20 and 30 years. I'm not saying it ain't nothing, but they ain't in abundance. Yeah, you know, where you could be like, damn, or you you mentioned Waller. Wallow, one of the like kooks can we say behind him? A lot of dudes, man. Like who?

You can't pit on with you to everybody else. You gotta that's just that comes with patience for me. Patience and learning. Like, damn, you know what? I do got that. That comes with patience. SPEAKER_08We just went to an event, right? We went to an event um with Dot. Dot was there, uh, me, uh, you know, bunch of guys, people that that that that came from jail, did a substantial amount of time. It was a bunch of people that was there, and they all did time tall. Like people did the real time too, just like you. 20 years, 30 years, 40 years. And it was a full order auditorium, people that was there that that had a story of uh coming home and and and not selling and trying to do the right thing. No, no, now if everybody millionaires, and everybody no, like I said, is that's not may not be true. But if you believe you can do that, you can probably be a millionaire. You can probably do, I believe you can do it. You know, I done seen people do it come from coming from nothing, coming from sleeping on floors and and put themselves in a position by hard work. I done seen people do it. But it just it just a matter of you putting yourself forward. But I but we was there in the in the place, and we was there, and it was people that had they um uh culinary uh people with chefs, and uh it was one one person who was actually even a lawyer. It was a lot of stuff, people out that I met there that that actually watched the podcast and was talking to me about their success stories, and um minus people from all over all over the United States. So I seen that auditorium, I seen that, and I seen people there that actually have done it. And I be with you every day. I see you, I see you go through the show because I see you trying. But I'm saying I seen people who have done it, and you can be like a success, like you are motivation to everybody that's coming home that see you, that see what you have going on. You know what I mean? But you gotta keep you gotta keep pushing for yourself, and then also you gotta understand a lot of people is watching you and watching and see what you do, whether see whether you
SPEAKER_15But that ain't gonna get them no success. Whether you watch a man or not, you got to want it.
SPEAKER_08But it's motivation, yeah. But it's still motivation. Like it's like it's like if you if if I'm if if a person looking at uh a person who has a who has a gym and I can be out of shape, if I'm watching this person and I see him going to the gym every day, and I see him trying every day, maybe he can motivate me to want to get in shape. You know what I'm saying? Or if I'm around, if I'm around somebody every day and I'm seeing them every day, I see you every day, you know, trying to do something, trying to learn business, trying to be a better person, trying to, you know, trying to do different things, trying to just learn as much as you can. Eventually you're gonna rub off on me in some in some non-duity, in some way, shape, form, or fashion. Some good quality is gonna rub. And then also vice versa. Bad qualities rip off on you too. I'm hanging around somebody who just getting high all day, drinking all day, smoking all day. I'm gonna matter of fact, let me let me take a sip real quick. Let me nobody's too strong for that. So we gotta be careful for that too, as well. Because you gotta be careful who you hanging with, and they say no. You hang with somebody who's getting money, see them getting money, you got a nice car or whatever case it being, and they say, No, you you you trying to sell drugs, not tainted that way. So it works in so many different ways. But what I'm back to what I was saying is if you see somebody consistently doing something, watching somebody be positive on a positive note, like people watching you do your thing being being positive.
SPEAKER_15Here go that. If I come outside, just me coming outside, I'll be one of the biggest podcasters in the world. Man, get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. Just by me coming outside. Why do you why do you have why why do why do you have a why do you have a negative demeanor? That's not a negative demeanor. I'm just saying, get out of here with it. SPEAKER_08Say somebody wants to meet you that you never know who you might meet out there. It might be, you know, you haven't we heard stories about people who uh been in certain places and ran into certain people by being in the being in a in a right spot at the right time, not on duty. You seen people go certain places, you like that. I'm I was one day I was here and I met this person. Yeah, but when you yeah, I you know, this is something totally new to me.
SPEAKER_15I ain't with the the meeting new people. I've never been with it. This is not something I wanted to embark on. Like when you when you got that, you know, it's just I got a gift at telling stories. That's it. That's what I looked at it as that. Now it can get larger than that. Something that I never came from. See, this is what motherfuckers got to realize. This is not something that a motherfucker wanted to jump at. You obtained to be this, and then you be good at it because that. No, you stumble, a lot of people stumble across things because they got certain gifts and certain things. Now they gotta conform to that to do this. Um that's not me. I'm not a people person unless I'm with my friends and family members. I'm stand off, but that don't make you a bad person either. But in this world, you gotta go to basketball games, you gotta go out, you gotta smile. I don't be liking to do that. I don't, and I'm not saying that it's wrong for the next man to do it. But I I'm never with one of the persons, yo, yo, what's going on? Yeah, mingling. I ain't never been on that. I've never been on that. And for you've been knowing me all my life. I'm not ever been doing that, unless it's with the guys. But yeah, that's bad. Or anybody that I know. Not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing.

SPEAKER_08So, so what so what you what you now gotta look at is this is that's just a part of the game. You know what I'm saying? If it's a part of the game, you're saying I go everywhere and be out all the time, but certain pick certain events, certain events that that may be beneficial, just never know who you're gonna run into. You know? So you gotta have that mentality that you that you want to meet people, meet different people, and so forth and so on. Because like people might want to be meet you. Like people, when we were there at the event, people was asking where you was at. They don't, you know, people people don't want to really see me. The ass where I'm at, to what? To shake my hand and take a picture with me. That's what they wanted to do. You didn't, you didn't never you weren't there to see it. So I can't say what it would happen and what would go what would go on, but you never know. Once again, until you apply yourself. It's like if you if I stay in the house all day, it's a missed opportunity for me. I can't stay in the house all day. Because I feel like I'm a missed opportunity. I can't uh, you know, sit back and not, if I had something I gotta do, I won't be able to sleep. I don't know, I just program myself. I got something I gotta do. I'm not gonna be able to go to sleep until the task is done.

SPEAKER_08So I find myself up at one or two o'clock in the morning completing the task or uh doing something because I I just can't, I I can't function if I don't have it done. You know what I'm saying? I don't, but that came over time of me trying to obtain certain things. If you want something, you gotta go all out to get it. You gotta go all out.
SPEAKER_15Whatever it is, you gotta go all out, man. You don't think everybody wants something in this world and tries to go out and get it? I don't think nobody not wanting nothing.
SPEAKER_08No, I think that people people when first the first sign of of uh uh what what I say, uh the first sign of rejection, it makes people, ah man, I joined. Like the first thing a little I agree to that. Oh yeah, if uh it's two it's two miles away. I agree to that. Ah man, I can't, hey man, it's uh man, I gotta be there at six o'clock. I mean, I man, I'll be trying to chill. It it is is it's the mental aspect of you. Once you, once you, once you fight, fight your deal with it. That's I said start with yourself. Once you defeat yourself and get rid of the negative aspect, whatever it is that that's within yourself, it's gonna lie to get out here and like and stand on on two feet a little different, have a different mind state. You're gonna you're gonna see more people, you're gonna see more things, you know, on duty. You will see more people, you're gonna see more situ more um, you know, people that's trying to do the same thing you're doing, or people that probably can help you get to the point where you're trying to get to. Um, all these different things are out there because everybody's trying to find, you know, opportunity. And it's out there. It's not it's not in the house. Opportunity is not in the house. Opportunity is not in the hood of uh North Philly, South Philly. It's not there. It's not opportunity is not sitting on the corner kicking it with our friends talking about what we used to do. You know what I mean? What's Carl say he talk about what you used to do? All that all that stuff don't matter. Let's talk about what we what we're trying to do, what we're gonna do, and how we're gonna do it, and how we're gonna get there. That's what makes sense. But these networks, like even these circles, these these events, and like you got the live event. We had a hell of a time, and it was a bunch of people that we see in the chat and we talk to on the phone, but we never really met people, individuals face to face. When we got out there and met uh met people that that watched the podcast, that that watched the videos, that you know, that that show us love, we feel like it was right at home. Like I feel like I, you know, we hugging people like we like we know known for 20 years. Like they was, like they was blood relatives, but this is the uh the aspect of going out and trying to do something. You know? And you can be uh uh, you know, look at look at look at look at look at these guys, man. Joe Rogan. If you want to look at people that's um African American, look at the top 10 had uh uh Joe Button. He worth 27 million dollars. Joe Budden had a drug addiction and he was in jail. I think he was I think he was in jail. I think he had he I think he was on crack. And you come from back from being on crack, you ain't I ain't never known him to be on no crack. He came back from being on crack to be worth 27 million dollars. You know what I'm saying? That's not nothing, that's not nothing to scoff at. That's not you know what I'm saying? And they just they just released that that uh what's the boy of a other guy, uh uh Charlemagne the guy worth about 30 million podcasting. And so you know, whatever it may be, there's opportunity out there for those who want it. And I always use people that's close to us, like no, that's that's that's close by. Like I and I I use Wallow as an example because I seen Wallow when he first came home when he was doing, and I called Wallow and helped him, you know, well, I paid him to do commercials for my my certain businesses that I had at the time. And this around time, Wallow was taking $300 of a video. But he was out here. He had he had a little he had a uh a van, like a little minivan. Pulled up in his minivan, hopped out, you know what I mean, start talking about the business. $300 and now went from that $300. Now you can't Wallow wouldn't even look at you. You can offer Wallow $300, you're gonna look at you like you're crazy. But you know, that was that was his his his grind. I just remember because I was I remember that aspect because I was actually one one of his supporters and paying him to uh do commercial smart business. So and he applied himself, and as as are you applying yourself, but you can never feel like you're doing enough. You know, never can feel like you're doing enough, man. So yeah, y'all, we need to um, you know, um let everybody know, man, that um opportunity, man, is is out there. You just don't never know. So you can't you can't never just say I'm not gonna do something. Especially if you ain't got nothing going on. Like if I'm chilling in the crib and I ain't got nothing going on, it's not I is a it's an event whereas I know people are gonna be there that's maybe maybe able to help do certain things. Excuse me, I'm gonna be there. I'm gonna be there. One of my one one of the things I did in business, I did it um and people didn't want to do it. So on a certain thing, I was like, yeah, I was like, I was I had an idea of doing something, and I decided to do it, and it worked and it paid off. But I was hearing people say, No, I don't do this, no, I don't do that, man. No, no, no, no, no, man, it's gonna be this. First thing is everybody try to look at is the is the is the negative aspect. Man, it's gonna be man, it's gonna man, you gotta do all this paperwork, you gotta do all this, all that, and now now, now, now the opportunity is there, and and people who didn't even help have an opportunity to to to uh uh benefit. So I'm a firm believer in just going out here and trying to do it if you will, you gotta you want to put your mind to do doing something, do it. Don't listen to all the the next the yourself, the mental aspect of yourself, the devil who's gonna be trying to tell you, oh man, that joint's gonna be hard. You gotta travel over here, you gotta do this, do this, do that. You know, it's just like I had I I've had um business opportunities of people in other states. Our people opportunities do stuff in other states, and oh man, it's it's a long distance and this is too far. But they sitting on the they sitting in the hood on a block. And then as soon as they go to jail, now something everybody wanna wanna wanna uh want to do the right thing now. Like, nah, man. No. You you should you you should you should have been thinking right at that time. You know? So take advantage of the opportunities that are in front of you. Well for you, yo, you know, and once again, how does it feel? Like you, you, you now dude, you you you you you just sit back and you don't really understand the power that you have to be, you know, because there's so many people that's watching you, man.
SPEAKER_15I don't have no power, Feek. I'm a person that know how to talk. There's a thousand people that know how to do that. You yourself that sit right here next to me know how to do that. I do have no talk. No, you just know how to talk. I've just been in a place that you haven't been to and I know how to explain it to where the listener understands it. That's not no fucking power. It's not a power. No, it's not no power.
SPEAKER_08You you you you but that's that's a that's a negative thinking. How? It's a fact. What I'm what I'm saying to you is if it's negative about seeing that's not a power. If and this is this is me just speaking. If if everybody had a gift or had the same gift or had the same ability that you that you have, then people will be will everybody will probably be in the same position as you or where you at. You're here because you have a gift, you have a talent to do certain things. Think about it. Let's it's it's it's what I just saw something other days, it's like 3,000 podcast, 3,000 podcasts started every day. Something like that. How many podcasts that is? Now how many podcasts that is? That's a lot. That's a whole guy. That's a lot. And then and then for your podcast to be what? Top 10% on Apple Podcasts, uh, 10% out of all podcasts in the in the in the United States, well, basically in the world, Apple Podcasts is worldwide. You know, top 10% uh people people are watching your podcast all around the world. Then you got over 200 through three 300 people right now watching the podcast because they want to hear what you got to say. You don't think that's a blessing? You don't think that that's a that's a that's that's uh that's a gift to to to you to want to you know do more, to want to push the envelope a little more, to want to be better in so many ways, because now people is watching you like damn, if if black can make it, damn, I can make it. He did 22 years. That's that's the next thing they be saying if you keep pushing the envelope. Damn, he did 22 years, came home, but now he's doing me, I can do it. Same thing they saying about this person or that person. I don't want to keep name dropping, but they saying, but no, they're gonna be saying the same thing about you. You have a gift to do something, whether it's storytelling, whatever it may be. Everybody has a special gift. I don't believe there's no person that's not born with something, a gift. They have a gift, whatever it may be, man. Some people can fight, some people can look at I I hate to say it, look at look at uh uh Floyd Mayweather, look at uh Terrence Crawford, look at uh Jeron Boots Ennis, look at uh Jalen Hurts, look at LeBron James. Everybody's born with a gift, no matter what it may be. Look at you, you get your gift, you know? Look at uh Dr. Dre, look at you know, the people that just have so many different gifts. You got Jay-Z, you got all these people that have a gift. Meek Mill, people from our city, we just see to have a gift to put something in place, and not to mention, and and the and their fields are very, very competitive. And just that they're willing to go to XML and put the work in in order to be obtaining success. And it's about how bad do you really want it? Everybody not gonna make it to a certain level, but it's how bad do you really want it? For me, that's how I see it.

Your first event that you had was sold out. That means that you are doing something good. Meaning people who are gravitating, gravitating towards you because they want to see you win. I'm I'm almost positive there's nobody in this podcast in this chat that's watching tell some jelly that don't want to, that's not rooting for you, bro. It's I will I will be, if it, if it, if it's listen, bro, I don't I don't think it's nobody that's in this podcast that's not rooting for you to be successful. They see your struggles because you you you wear your heart on your sleeve, they see it. But they want you to keep pushing. They don't want you to be like, oh, I make an excuse. They know what people would now if something happened like, yeah, you know, black went back to jail, nah, nah, devastating that would be the people, because people, these people this chat look at you as family. You like their brother going to jail. Or some young boys in here, their uncle's going to jail. You like their uncle going to jail, or even somebody might look at you as a father figure. You never know. Who's a lot of young guys that walk up to you in the streets that that walk up to you and say, yo, man, I I've been watching your podcast. We were just today, walking, walking past, and people were stopping us and talking to us. So you got all these people in this in the world that's rooting for you to be successful. So you gotta weight of the world on your shoulders, really honestly. You don't even see it. The weight of the world, people is depending on people are really actually watching to see what you do. They're watching to see how far you can take the journey, how far you can, you know, uh push the needle. How many people you can help? We just had a guy calling from calling from prison with 170 years. He's trying to get out of jail with 170 years. What do you think he would do if he had an opportunity if he was in your position?

Um my mom been paying lawyers after lawyers after lawyers, um, motions and all types of stuff. And when y'all, you know, when black acts be, you know, when black tells his story, it kind of give me a sense of you know what he's going through. So when y'all say pick up that phone when blah, blah, blah you know, that pick up that phone mean a lot. I try to answer every call because I didn't know it was like that. You know, I've never been there, I don't know, you know, and he tried to dumb it down. I guess he tries to make it like where it's not as bad. Well, you don't stress y'all. And I'm yeah. So he'd be like, Oh no, it's this, it's that, it's not that like that. And I'm like, hmm.

And I just, you know, that makes me open my eyes, like, you know, we need to answer this call. We need to make sure, you know, things are right. And you know, he got a nephew because I got a son, and he always be like, Uncle, you know, when you gonna come home when I'm gonna see you. And I think like we just don't know, you know, we always be like, you know, Uncle gonna be home soon. And then, you know, when you try to lie to kids and tell them, I was like, Oh, Uncle is in the camp. But now they, you know, he got older, he'd be like, What's DOC? He'd be like, What's this? You know, so now he's starting to like, okay, my uncle is a rats, you know, incarcerated. And I'm like, Oh my god, it hurt so bad, and then it hurts so bad when he's ready to leave and he's crying. And then him and Aunt Sissy, man, and um and he he he passed away today. I can't really say enough say enough uh about him. And uh Bucking, I know he's a diehard Eagles fan, diehard Sixers fan, anything Philly, Flyers, whatever. And um I never seen him wear no other things other than Adidas, man. I say that about him either. Have you ever seen him wear Snipe wear anything other than top tens or shell tops? SPEAKER_15Like a one that's one one sign of a strong man, one sign I could I could give you a lot of them, but one sign of a strong man is not one that are always quick to get back in confrontation or argue back with you. One's a one that'll sit there and listen to everything you got to say. And I have a problem with that. I'll be the one that wanna gabbrow off at the mouth. But as long as I see it as a problem, that's a step to recovery. See, a lot of people don't even see it as a problem, but a one attribute to a strong man, this is not that doesn't make him this one attribute doesn't make him a strong man by itself, but when one can sit there and shut his goddamn mouth while someone is telling him something about himself.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, and I agree a hundred percent. Yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_15And that's one thing that I got to take personally, you know what I'm saying? Because I I look at my life and say, damn, what don't I don't I like? Like that I got my brother sit over here and tell me shit. I'll be ready to knock his goddamn head off. But at the end of the day, when I go sit back in my room and I sit back in the confines of my own comfort of just me and my thoughts, I can't lie to myself, I can't argue with myself. You need somebody else to do that too. So I gotta be brutally raw honest. I'm like, damn, okay, he was damn sure right. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_16Yeah, and and you and you gotta be honest, yeah. Especially with yourself, is that because you can't lie, you can't you can't lie to yourself. Because you know it's a lie.
SPEAKER_15If you lie to yourself, you know it's a lie.

SPEAKER_08Yeah, man. You know, uh someone says to you, man. You know, listen, sky's limit, man. You could be, you can you can accomplish whatever you want to accomplish in life, man.
SPEAKER_13Yeah, you gotta put your mind to it.
SPEAKER_08And stay focused. And every day you pick you pick uh uh a goal or target, and you just do whatever you whatever you gotta do to get there, man. I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_08Stay focused, man. Every day is an opportunity, man. Don't take it for granted. Don't take your freedom for granted. Don't take your you know your time that you have for granted. Don't take every breath you take, don't take it for granted, man. Because it's gonna be a time where you when you when you when you can't breathe and your life is over, and then you know, that's it. But leave a mark where you can, man. Stay focused.
