3 months into the dad journey we rank dad chores, also soccer thoughts no one asked for

SPEAKER_04

Alright, let it loose.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, welcome in.

SPEAKER_04

Woo!

SPEAKER_00

Another episode. When was last year? How many weeks ago?

SPEAKER_03

It was uh it was early it was early June. There might it was uh I think you might not have heard that one yet. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

Or no, sorry, I'm thinking of YouTube.

SPEAKER_03

Oh come on. Yeah, the Raul's the only one that's on YouTube. I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_01

It's not a big deal.

SPEAKER_03

We'll we'll get it up there though. June 4th.

SPEAKER_00

So we're doing that. June 4th is yeah, that's not bad. We're back with a good uh good episode. We're doing dad chores today. We might we're gonna mix in a little bit of soccer. Yeah, I know the people want to hear my soccer thoughts all three hours. Viva la Mexico. Mexico looked good. Mexico does look really good, actually. They were lit, dude. Did you see Mexico City?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. It was it looks a good time. It's bumping.

SPEAKER_03

Um when you have your their entire population on a single sport, like it just makes for an absolutely electric environment. It is, which is like the case for the entire world. But like, yeah, it is awesome to see. Yeah, it is awesome to see.

SPEAKER_00

Not a soccer guy, I do like the World Cup. It's fun to be real.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a March Manis. Like, I'm not college basketball, but I love March Manus.

SPEAKER_00

It's fun knowing like the entire world is watching it too. Like that.

SPEAKER_01

And I love seeing the people in America, yeah. Like the the Norwegians and whatever. Yes, that's it's funny.

SPEAKER_00

I was surprised how much I enjoyed uh like seeing them in American stadiums. I was like, oh, this is cool. It felt really weird, but cool.

SPEAKER_01

It's like, what the like at Fenway, all the Scotch people.

SPEAKER_03

I felt like people were complaining about it to start, but I mean I think that's just people coming together and being Europeans. What's crazy, I had the realization yesterday when we were watching I'm not even gonna try the second part of it, but Bosnia and what was the other part? Yeah, H, whatever. Um I was thinking about it, I was like, this is their like this is their Super Bowl. Like this is they are all in on this specific which is kind of sad because it's like Which is like but cool and sad at the same time. But also like dunk that by the way, the good old USA, but like this was truly there.

SPEAKER_01

No one else is watching, and he, you know, there's no like yeah, there's no Bosnian, like that's like no, they I think they might like basketball, but this is their Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_00

Gotta ask some Bosnians, you know. All right, we can get into soccer, but I got a recommendation that we should start with a dad question of the day. And I kind of like a dad question of the day. I really like that. The smirk on your face right now leads me to believe this is gonna be I don't like it. I didn't this is good. I don't know if I should go with an easy question, like a fun question, but I'm going with a heavy ethical dilemma. Oh, yeah. This came up because of the Terry and Arnold news. Okay. Obviously, Tyrion didn't commit murder, but you know, it was walking down that path. So this begged the question. We fast forward 20 years from now. Okay. We're Tyrion Arnold. Your son commits murder. Okay, okay. Would you turn him in? Oh. I don't have to answer since I asked the question, but I need specifically. You cannot ask what type of murder it is. No, no, no. Like, or like the like you can't ask why he did it. Like, because then you're just gonna be like, was it justified or was it not? I'm not letting you get off that easy. No, it's not.

SPEAKER_03

This is like an adolescent. Yeah, have you seen the the show Adolescent?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's very similar to adolescent.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so you were truly like okay.

SPEAKER_00

Like it could be he could have done it, like it could be the reason why it could not be. That's not part of it. I can't even talk to him though. You yeah, it's just like you you know he committed murder. Are you gonna turn him in or not?

SPEAKER_01

And I tell my I can tell but I can like talk to him. You can like talk to my my wife, like I can tell Amanda. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Just make it shit. You know, you don't make the uh the tall stuff.

SPEAKER_01

That's bad.

SPEAKER_00

That's exactly why I'm asking.

SPEAKER_03

I'm really trying to run the two and delegate.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not that's not I want it to be I don't want to be on the same page it's on recording, it's on records above the pay grade, it's on record.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, that's a tough okay.

SPEAKER_03

Um uh I I would probably turn them in. You would turn you would turn him in. I I think I would. I don't know. I I I think I mean I just love my song. You know, it's tough because like in this specific scenario, you you you don't get any context whatsoever.

SPEAKER_01

I think like if I had a little bit of context, it would be yeah, because there's like if he's doing it in self-defense, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But like in my mind, it's like if you kill somebody and you're living with that guilt, whether it was justified or not, like that's going to consume you at some point, whether it's tomorrow, whether it's like 10 years from now, 50 years from now, at some point that that you just can't bury that forever. And so, like, my hope would be if he goes to prison and has that time to like rehabilitate himself. At least you're really what I'm saying. That's what they're sending right. The other piece of this is the clips that I'm seeing coming out of prison, it looks like kind of a decent time. I'm not sure. I'm not gonna lie, bro.

SPEAKER_00

They got both and white-collar one, they got phones collar.

SPEAKER_03

They got phones in there, they got all the drugs they need in there, man. Like, it's just a bunch of boys having a good time.

SPEAKER_00

I did see where the fire festival guy went to prison. It just sounds like a great, like like a LinkedIn enclosure for a period of a time. Like you make it.

SPEAKER_03

It's like yeah, just like tougher rehab.

SPEAKER_00

Um that wasn't supposed to be part of the uh dilemma. It's a good I mean, it's a good question.

SPEAKER_03

I'm trying to justify it in my head.

SPEAKER_00

You're still sitting on the fence over there. I'd say no. Let me call it. Let me call it. I said no. I said I would not do it. I was just like, I I like I think your role as a as family is to like protect, yeah, kinda. Like, I couldn't be the one, you know. Like I could try and talk him into turning himself in, but I would not do it myself.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Which is, you know. That's a good point.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know that's a great point. I can't it just there I I like what you're saying though.

SPEAKER_00

I get what you're saying, though. You're not wrong. Like, you're like if he did it in a good way, like if he, yeah, not if he's just a cold-blooded murderer, I'm like, okay, then you definitely gotta be like you're definitely like it's not the right thing to like not do it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And it would be like in a way, it's like he's my responsibility. I raised him. Yeah, like he, I I've contributed this person to society. If he's out here killing people, all right, I'll I'll raise my hand and say, hey, yeah, this one's on me.

SPEAKER_01

I because I I think I would lean towards your side because I feel like if I committed murder, I would turn myself I couldn't, I would turn myself in. Like, yeah, I couldn't live with that. So I wouldn't want to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_03

There's some sociopaths out there that could live with murder. But then at that point, it's like But I I don't want to, I don't want to be anywhere near those people.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Well, that was the question of the day. All right, one of you guys gotta bring it the next time. Okay, yeah, definitely. For the record, my dad said he would turn me in. I was a little yeah. I was like, come on, he didn't even hesitate. I turned you. I was like, come on, man.

SPEAKER_03

No questions, just even if he thinks you did it. I I have a lot of suspicion of this guy over here.

unknown

It was my son.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, that's good.

SPEAKER_00

But before the

World Cup Thoughts

SPEAKER_00

the the dad chores, I do want to go back to football or soccer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you've been watching a lot, though. You've been watching a lot, watching a lot.

SPEAKER_03

I I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_00

I got some thoughts. Uh you Nick, you're the soccer expert.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna lean a little heavy on us. Uh what's the red card?

SPEAKER_00

First of all, did they cut down on flopping? Did they like because I watched the US game? There's a play. I don't know if you guys saw it. Yeah. The guy definitely got tripped. Like and he fought through it in the in the like box or like whatever. And I swear in like past years it would have just been the immediate or whatever, but they're like, he didn't fall naturally. Right. Like he sold it, so they just didn't call it a foul. I just there's Is that new? Because it was great.

SPEAKER_03

And I feel like there has been but you're questioning the calling of the flop. No, no, no. They didn't call.

SPEAKER_00

It was like legitimately a foul. But they're still doing it though. But they didn't call it, they didn't call it because he flopped.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they've stopped it.

SPEAKER_00

Like, so I was like, this is great.

SPEAKER_01

I think unless it's egregious, I feel like they've done a better job. They basically were like, you don't get to call because you flopped. Because you flopped. Yes. Which one do you remember what it was? Was it the U.S. player? So it was the US, right? It was the US game.

SPEAKER_00

He's like, it was the guy, the same guy who got Ballow. Yeah. And like he definitely got tripped, but like they said he didn't fall naturally. But anyways, I was like, that was great. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. That's good. I don't don't ask Steve about the flopping. I I tend I'm I remember the conversation.

SPEAKER_01

I barely remember that, but yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I remember the conversation at Kristen Zoe's wedding. Shout out Kristen Zoe, recently married. Um, where it was just it, I cannot, I don't under I genuinely don't understand why it has to be like a complete, like dramatic meltdown every time as soon as they hit the as soon as they like why why the face, why the cover, why the rolling, why the the smacking on the ground? That is I that's what I just like dude. This is so performing.

SPEAKER_00

The US goalkeeper in the last game, the guy got tapped and he acted like he had a concussion for five minutes. That that does that is like what what is that charge?

SPEAKER_01

There should be a charge against that. Like if you flop, if you if you're rolling around like, oh my gosh, I'm in so much pain. Like you they should have to sit out like that.

SPEAKER_00

They should find players. NBA should do it too. Yeah, they should find players.

SPEAKER_01

If you're doing that, you should be fine. And it's so annoying. It's like, dude, you're not.

SPEAKER_03

They yeah, then they literally get up like Yeah, they're and they look around, okay, didn't get the call, get up, and then you they're sprinting back down the other way.

SPEAKER_01

I think they should.

SPEAKER_03

That that that as an expert, I'd say hate it. That part of it kind of yeah, perturbs me.

SPEAKER_00

But so now that we're the new commissioners of soccer, can I run another rule by you? That'll change too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Bosnia.

SPEAKER_00

All right. All right. We don't wanna we don't wanna uh there's a red card decide our Bosnian viewers. Our Bosnian viewers. All right, if you're listening to this Bosnia, they probably don't agree with you. I'm sorry guys, but you get a red card, right? You want to know what soccer needs? Soccer needs a power play. Yeah, that'd be awesome. The one player down for the whole game, way too punitive. Doesn't make any sense. Power play. Yes, you're down you're down three players for five minutes. Three ballers, yeah. That would be awesome. No ballkeeper. A penalty kill. Let's trick the next kill in soccer. It would be great. Yeah, it would be electric. It would be electric. I like what you're addicted. You should that's what I'm saying. I got ideas.

SPEAKER_03

They love it. They love it. Yeah, I mean, yeah. I don't know. I I feel like the more I watch it, the more I I can appreciate it. Like it is uh in a way, like an acquired taste. Like it's very like methodical, it's it's very like I don't know. Yeah, it things take a while to evolve, but like when the the peak hits, it's it's pretty epic.

SPEAKER_01

When the defenses aren't parking the bus and bringing like they're dropping like 10 or 11 players, like especially the worse, the not as good countries, that's like they just try to retaliate like they go on. And it's that can make for a tough one. If they're general genuinely attacking both sides, that's that's great.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean it was it was it was great action, and it I like again. I have I've grown to uh really been enjoying it.

SPEAKER_01

Um favorite teams besides the US. Obviously, I think I might know yours. Mexico, maybe Viva.

SPEAKER_03

Um I don't know. Maybe maybe it's maybe it's basic, but like I I just like Mbappe. I like he seems like kind of a stud. I mean that's fair. I think it or I don't know if they're on either side of the bracket, but Argentina, France seems like a uh a suitable. I don't I like that was one of the best finals.

SPEAKER_01

I don't feel if you guys remember the yes, yeah, last last year.

SPEAKER_03

Or not last year.

SPEAKER_01

I mean PKs. PK, yeah, why not? But it was like it was like 3-3. It was man, that game was nuts.

SPEAKER_03

I was um I've been watching more of this uh Erling guy. I like the way I like the way he runs scrubbing. I sound like that Erling guy, he's like the one of the most notable.

SPEAKER_01

Erling How Holland?

SPEAKER_03

Uh Holland, yeah, whatever. Uh yeah. That guy seems like a stud.

SPEAKER_00

He'd be a good tight end, I feel like.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he I mean he he's a he seems like an athlete. An absolute freaking athlete. Um, I guess one of my questions is do you think this is the moment where soccer really picks up in the US? Like, do you think it like I just it's always gonna have to compete with real football? But like does it become more major? It'll never become that. You don't think so? Not no, not even with all four years.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it and then it fades into it.

SPEAKER_00

I'll be honest, like, I've enjoyed this World Cup or another World Cups. I'm not watching the MLS next year, you know. Like, I'm not gonna Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's the other thing too.

SPEAKER_00

Well, like I do like I do think there's a gradual, like, I appreciate it more, you know. But like it's just I still don't think it'll happen.

SPEAKER_01

It's something that's tough to imagine. The nation events are just so much more like they're playing for their countries. It's it's a bigger, like it's a bigger deal on the fans, you could see too. Like, that's way more fun than just the standard than just manual. Oh yeah, Premier League, what's just that?

SPEAKER_00

Well, my snobby American take too is like I don't want to watch a league that is not the best in the world, right? So like if I was gonna if I was gonna be a soccer guy, I would be a Premier League guy. Yeah, like I wouldn't, you know, but like it's that's what most people do over the difficult. But it's like I think that's what like a lot of us like, I just don't wanna I'm not gonna put in the effort. Like, even if I like like soccer marginally more, I'm not gonna start putting the effort to follow a league in another country.

SPEAKER_01

I think it could yeah, I think it could pass up hockey, like I hockey's not a big, but like maybe I don't know, probably not baseball. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like it could be in that yeah, I could see it taking over hockey and hockey in like 10 years, you know, 20 years.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's tough to say. It's tough to say. I mean, it is very I mean, it you see the the audience that it has, and it truly is remarkable to watch. Like every country just locked in on this stuff.

SPEAKER_00

But I think it depends on if they're gonna take my rule changes seriously or not. I think it's worth I think it's worth proposing to the commission. Right, right. Don't get me started on the clock. I'm not gonna talk about the clock because what's wrong with the clock? Everyone has the same opinion, but it is I don't mind the clock. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I know if I'm going to watch it, it's gonna come out to like roughly an hour and a half, two hour watches. It's not like football where this quarter could be uh an hour, yeah. You know what I mean? Like it it's just 45, maybe and some change, and then you run it back.

SPEAKER_00

That's that's just ridiculous.

SPEAKER_03

From a convenience standpoint, I I I can appreciate it. Scheduling from scheduling things.

SPEAKER_00

It's so I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but there's nothing it's just like the added time, there's always like an extra like here if something big happens.

SPEAKER_03

Here's my thing like stoppages. Like, I just like part of the NBA for me has gotten to where it's like I just don't want to see a foul at this point because I just don't want to the flow of the game just is completely abrupted.

SPEAKER_01

Don't you love the no commercials? I mean, I just like showing up these damn hydration prinks that kind of ruin that, but that I'm not that has American capitalism written all over it.

SPEAKER_03

But um, I don't know. I just uh again, I just like sitting down, okay, 45 minutes, and then what the half is like 30 minutes and then or 15 was it? 15 minutes. I think it's 15, and then another 45 minutes.

SPEAKER_00

No stoppage is is really nice. It is it's a very like slow of of like football and such. But it is basketball's yeah, they they gotta fix that end of the game. Football's at least consistent throughout.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, basketball the the end of the year. For the most part until it's then they're yeah, but it can be pretty it can be pretty frustrating.

SPEAKER_03

So I don't know. I don't know. But like what you should clue everyone in on how much stoppage time, like it shouldn't be like a oh, there's ten minutes now left. Like I I there should be like a running timer, like okay, realistically it's gonna come out to about seven minutes.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_03

Like the stop, like the stoppage time, my understanding is like the ref is he has his own like little stopwatch. Yeah, there's like a fourth remote. Why can't we get insight into that stopwatch?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's you could just use a stopwatch.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm saying, but like it's up to his judgment. So, like, why it's not enough.

SPEAKER_00

That's an watch.

SPEAKER_03

It's not a complaint. I just want to know, like, okay. Why they don't or you know, I can't like being a grab beer like that when you're like six, it's just I get down for five.

SPEAKER_00

It feels like it feels like a guy being like yeah, 10 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

I felt like well, that guy fell down there, that guy fell down there. Okay, yeah, that's about 20 minutes.

SPEAKER_00

I do like the idea though of a guy being like, hey, you are like like grabbing your ankle way too long here. That's gonna be 12 minutes of stoppage time for that.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah, it should be doubled for whoever's trying to stall. Yeah, I agree with that.

SPEAKER_03

That's and that's a funny thing.

SPEAKER_01

A little uh not right.

SPEAKER_03

That's the funny thing with like the stalling is that I just I don't know why or this is like a core memory of mine, but like when the US was going against like Ghana, yeah, yeah, yeah. Where like they were up a goal for like and they literally melked it every single drop. It seems like there's nothing they can all do. Yeah, yeah. But then you're on the other side of that yesterday, and I'm like, you know, take your time, Polisic, bro. Like it is like equally the most infuriating thing in the world, but it's also just like, yeah, you have you have to do it, like it's part of the game, it's literally part of the game. It is, it's like 100%.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's that's my other, I think, nit of watching this is like there's no like because scoring so hard when the good team got gets up by a goal, especially two goals, yeah. It's just like the it's completely over. It's over. Yeah, it's like because if they decide to just play like people, like it's just like the game was over.

SPEAKER_03

Unless some freak thing happens, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like the US when they scored the first goal yesterday, I was like, Well, this is over. There's no way we lose. The red card obviously made it like injected some drama. But yeah, but in general, yeah. Without that, it was like there's no way that they're gonna lose.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know how they solve that. It just seems they just bring all the people. Yeah, I mean, you don't solve it, it's just that it's just the way of the game, yeah. But it's annoying.

SPEAKER_03

So as our as our local soccer expert, I hate that. What's your official statement on the red card?

SPEAKER_01

I don't like that you brought that up. I have to because this is this is this is my power went out and I could not watch it.

SPEAKER_03

But you watched it obviously on Twitter or something.

SPEAKER_01

I no, I only heard I I had a busy day. I had to figure out the whole power thing.

SPEAKER_03

You can't pick up your phone and look at the most important call in the in recent history.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have a call on it. I'm sorry. I power out, I couldn't call it a couple of years. I gotta be honest, it's a resident.

SPEAKER_00

I gotta be honest, as the guy who's watched you know, like five soccer games where I've like intently watched it. Yeah, that that I think is the most mad I've ever been watching in soccer games. It seemed like it seemed like absolute yeah, bullshit. Like it just seemed well, first they were like, pull it up, right? They just watch it. I'll watch it while you take it. It's a red flagrant two suspension. Yeah, it's that's what it felt like. And it was like clearly incidental. The guy obviously lands on his ankle, like I can see it being a penalty and all, but like it clearly is not like the severity of something that should be a red card. And then I had no idea about the whole you missed the next game thing. Yes, that's the worst. That guy's uh you know, he's our best player. Yeah. So good. I know his name. Yeah, what is it? Balogan? Balogun, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Balogun is a sick name. He was filming, he was legitimately super good. Oh, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, yeah, so I didn't know that. I was pretty I was like, this is garbage.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

How many other players do you think you could name on that team? On the US team? Uh I think I can name it. You can name the LeBron James at Soccer. Freeze the goalie. I s I remember him because he was being a little concussion baby, pretending he had a concussion. And I can name Freeman. We got one of the Packers. Packers' son is on uh Antonio Freeman, Packers Legend, his son is on team. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

What about the man that scored the the second goal? Oh uh that was the only one I have, so that's why I brought that up.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, that was a great goal. I don't remember his name though.

SPEAKER_03

I think I think it's Tillman. I was gonna say Hillman. I was gonna say Hillman.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man, Xavier Tillman.

SPEAKER_03

Tillman. Um uh I maybe I have one in Eric Adams. Eric Adams? Is that a ex-may or I think there's an Anderson in there somewhere.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

There's an Anthony Robinson. Anthony Robinson. Anthony Robinson. Anthony Robinson. Uh yeah, desk is sick, he's on the right. McKinney's uh where does Balogun play? I think he plays in I think he's in the French league, Ligoon. Legoon's Ligoon? Ligoon? I think he's for like AS Monaco or something. I don't know. I mean he seems like a stud.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how I'd not heard of him. Like I why he needs a better PR. Like, why why do I know who Jose Eltador is? This guy's way better.

SPEAKER_01

Soccer needs a PR in general, I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_03

Well that part of the failure of soccer as well is like the who's the they're calling him like baby goat. Who uh Lamin? Yo Yamal. Lamin Yamal, yeah. Apparently he's like the He's nasty. He's like the goat already. Baby. Not a baby, yeah. Baby goat. He's like 19 years old. Exactly. You never have you even heard of that name? Take a guess. That is like the one of the the number one most marketable players that they have right now.

SPEAKER_00

You know what else thing about um our boost Balagon is he had the wider stringerings. You did? Yeah, he had like the he had like the D.Va wider string. Nice study. Yeah, the stud, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that.

SPEAKER_03

I love hitting the silencer twice after the no-call goal and then again for the actual goal.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah, they got some swag.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I I would agree.

SPEAKER_01

I like this team.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, what do we what do we think of the uh players from the oh gosh, I hate the play.

SPEAKER_00

What do we think of the uh sorry, where is the guy from? So Spain. Spain. Yes, he is. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um country country roads to close it out every every game. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Is it corny? Is it corny? I think it's a little corny. I don't think it hits when you're in tech Levi Stadium to me. Like the West Coast is not jamming out the country roads. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I still like it, but I I like it too because I love that stuff. I can go on either way, though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, yeah. It is a little bit corny, but it it's kind of cool. I would prefer Dixieland Delight or Freebird.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Love me so. Oh, yes. Freebird. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You gotta get a song that like people can sing along to, which I think like it should be like living in the USA.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I I like, you know, it should be like Born in the USA Born in the USA. Party in the USA.

SPEAKER_03

No. Um no. No, I I I heard uh Born in the USA is like a deeply like anti-American song. What? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what.

SPEAKER_03

But but everyone, yeah, but no, he was joking. Like classic America is just like, oh, born in the USA. Hell yeah, brother. No, it's like, yeah, it's pretty bad.

SPEAKER_01

The other thing about that song is they have like a ton for different countries. What do you mean? Like Born in Canada.

SPEAKER_00

There is, there really is.

SPEAKER_01

Someone told me this, unless someone was lying to me. No, someone showed me this. There's like multiple versions. Born in Canada.

SPEAKER_00

Next next game.

SPEAKER_03

Gets the people going. Yeah, I don't know. That's my curmudgeon, by the way.

SPEAKER_01

Germany freak uh penalty kick takers. And that the ones who didn't step up that forced the defender, the center back, Ta, to take it and blow it over the net.

SPEAKER_00

I saw a uh tweet that said something. I don't know if it's true. I find it hard to believe it's true that like they asked three people to take it. That's what it said, and they said like no. And then the guy takes it. They made the defender. How are you in the World Cup of soccer? You get that opportunity and you don't want it. How do you think that's it? I don't know how you can be that elite at your sport and also that afraid of the moment. That doesn't compute to me. I don't need I don't get it. I don't get that. That's bad. I did not know that that happened. Go take the pen. Like, I wouldn't know a single like basketball player, even if they're like nervous, who's gonna be like, yeah, I'm not gonna shoot the shot. You know, like that's that was that was the shot in general. Especially a penalty kick. Like that's like that's above a 50% success rate. Yeah, no matter who you are, if you're in there. That was crazy. You cannot be afraid of that.

SPEAKER_03

That's soft. They deserve to lose. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

They really did. No, 100%. If that's the case. They had two people miss, and oh man. Yeah. Awful game.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's been fun. I've been enjoying watching it for sure.

SPEAKER_01

I love the times. I don't know. I th is that different this year? It must be because the times that the games are on.

SPEAKER_03

It has to be.

SPEAKER_01

It's been great. It's like all day work and like I get a night game.

SPEAKER_03

It's built for yeah, the US market.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like when it was in Qatar, Qatar or whatever the name of that country is.

SPEAKER_03

Uh oh yeah, it was like 2 a.m.

SPEAKER_01

It was like 2 a.m. So yeah, maybe that's been nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's been awesome.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Again. More game time. Maybe maybe

Dad Chore Tier List

SPEAKER_03

it'll eclipse hockey. We'll see. Yeah. We'll see.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, I think we're on the dad chores. The chore list? Tier ranking.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, here we go. Here we go.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, moving on to the the dad chores. We got uh a mixture here. They're not all dad, they're like baby chores with common household dad chores. We got five categories. We got probably twelve or thirteen of them. Uh we got five categories. Your S tier is is the top tier. That's enjoyable. Love doing it. Tier two is good with it. You know, like I'll do it. Yeah. Tier three, the middle tier, fine. You know, it's whatever. Tier four, I'd rather not, you know, like and then the last tier, down bad.

SPEAKER_03

Got it. Yeah, I really like this. I really like this already.

SPEAKER_00

All right. We'll we'll start it off with uh let's start off with a baby one.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Feeding the baby.

SPEAKER_03

Feeding the baby.

SPEAKER_00

Down bad, I hate it. No, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's fine.

SPEAKER_03

You know, it's fine. It's fine, it's fine. I I I would say I'm I'm good with it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, I could be convinced again.

SPEAKER_03

Like it still has the novelty to where it like it feels like you're actually contributing. Like, even though, you know, for the first time. Yes, that's what I mean. Well, I mean, like, I don't get a chance to feed him that much.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I got I got a titty boy uh on our hands. Um so whenever I can get him a bottle, like it is it is kind of fun. Um, that said, like, I would imagine that novelty wears off at some point, and it's just I would definitely say this is a firm fine.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not gonna, I'm not like I the only thing not mad about it. You do you know? I like hanging, like I like holding my boy, but like I don't feel like I'm hanging out with him because he's just he is that's like he's not like it doesn't because I get what you're saying, but I I have no there's no bonding component for me. He's bonding with the the milk.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah, I can buy that.

SPEAKER_00

There are much rides look away.

SPEAKER_03

I don't even I'm just I you send me something finish for 10 minutes, you're just scrolling.

SPEAKER_00

Trying to get sometimes I'm bad about I'm starving, dad. Like I'll have like a TV on or like a laptop in the background, and like I see his eyes like trying to watch it. I'm like trying to keep it. No, bad. I know maybe he's addicted to the speed. We'll put that in the fine camera. That feels good line there. That feels good. All right, here's a non-baby one taking out the trash. S tier. I love it. It is just a pure dad job. It's the worst. No, I love it.

SPEAKER_03

I love it. What do you mean you love it? You don't love it. It's so easy. It's so easy, but you don't want to be doing it. I it's a nice free share.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's a rather not kind of with job though.

SPEAKER_00

I think there's a little bit of like uh I don't love it. I don't love it, but hear me out. It's like a good, like uh am I gonna love? I mean, this is women the women aren't gonna ever do it, and it's not hard to do, and it's like a clear, like, all right, the women have never done it.

SPEAKER_03

At least I I don't know. I mean it's terrible.

SPEAKER_00

I just wouldn't, I'm not gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

But it's not like to take out the trash. Here comes Wednesday. These are chores. I no, I do love it. There's some chores under the getting the crab out of your house. I've never looked forward to it. I love trash day, man. I get that I get it. No, you don't. I get it out, I get it out of my house. All my recycling. I love recycling.

SPEAKER_03

Dude, you have never once been like it. It's never been like, oh, I oh, we get to take out the trash. I know. It's like, oh, it's Wednesday. I have to make sure I remember to take out the trash. It's not like you're excited about it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm voice one, man. I'm I'm loving it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, you're not.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go.

SPEAKER_03

I refuse to believe that you enjoy this. If that's the case, we have to have a deeper conversation.

SPEAKER_00

You've never had a weekend where like you got a lot of trash and you're looking forward to the day. Dude, wait, like this that happens to me a lot. Maybe we just have to invest in a bigger trash can, but like, yeah, I'm like, oh hell yeah, finally I get to take it out.

SPEAKER_01

And and it fits.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, fits perfectly. You just get it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm good to go.

SPEAKER_03

And you gotta take 50 trips back because you have 40 lawn bags as well.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I do hate lawn bags.

SPEAKER_03

I hate that's trash.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I'm thinking about the old school, not you know, so so just in general.

SPEAKER_03

I don't mind me just so the listener can understand. Talk me to the the pleasure you get.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just carrying your film to the road, and that is the chore chores that I do. This one is not hard at all, and it's it's not so bad. I get some fresh air, throw the trash away, clean my house out.

SPEAKER_00

So let me let me pose. It feels like you're solving a big problem with very low work. I do what he's going for. Let me made over a lot of Amazon. I got a ton of cardboard, all got it out.

SPEAKER_03

It's all right. Here's how we have to look at this. If someone told you tomorrow I will take your trash out for the rest of your life, would you take them up on that offer?

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, of course. So you would like rather not do it? Every chore, yeah, but that's I mean, every chore on here, I'm gonna, yeah, I would would you rather feed the babies or take the trash? Besides besides baby stuff. I'd yeah, I'd feed the baby.

SPEAKER_00

See, I that's I love my son, but take the trash. See, my meat, I wasn't. Wait a minute, I am molding my son. You are in a corner right now.

SPEAKER_02

You're gonna put that as enjoyable.

SPEAKER_00

I think we gotta put it in fine, is what I mean.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

I don't mind it at all. I think me and Nick are gonna elevate it.

SPEAKER_03

Providing nutrients to your son versus dragging trash to the curb is now on an equal playing field. I I I could not disagree with that. Let's come back to it. Let's let's come back to it.

SPEAKER_00

These other ones might change our minds. One loading slash unloading the car. Like packing up and unpacking the car. I hate it on this statement.

SPEAKER_01

I hate it.

SPEAKER_03

This sucks because you're always there.

SPEAKER_01

You always forget something, and there's so many trips, and it's you always forget something. I'm packing for like a three-day weekend every time I go somewhere with my child. I agree.

SPEAKER_00

It's this is a like uh it's a tough, it's like the opposite of taking out the trash. Where it's like we're adding the feels like it should be very small, but it ends up just being like this is super annoying.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's so much.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, this is you're gonna say this is better than taking out the trash?

SPEAKER_03

No, this is worse. Okay, go get it. This is worse than taking out the trash. I think 100%. Stakes are higher.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's not a down bad, it's a rather knot. I don't enjoy.

SPEAKER_03

I just I'm not against a down bad, I'll be honest.

SPEAKER_01

We can't do that.

SPEAKER_03

It just feels like I'm alright with I don't enjoy it. Some people are good at the whole like jig, you know, Tetris where they can like have the spatial awareness about okay, this fits here, this fits here. I understand. I gotta move this here. I'm just not that guy.

SPEAKER_00

It's not the it's not the Tetris or the spatial awareness, it's just the like how much stuff you have to take for everything. Like, yes, like we like we go over to one of your guys' houses for two hours, and it's like you feel it's like packing what you would have packed for what we have to do. Literally for for an Airbnb.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy. So it's it's that you always forget something, and yes.

SPEAKER_00

Oh when people like talk about the like dad stuff all the time. Oh, like you ready to not sleep, you ready to uh change up? It's like, are you ready to overpack for the rest of your life for anything you ever do?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

All right, where are we putting it?

SPEAKER_03

I think down bad. I'm okay with down bad. We can always elevate it. I can always elevate it. I think it's I think it's pretty bad.

SPEAKER_01

That was a great one. I'm glad you included that. It's underlooked, like yeah. It's a it was a blind spot. It was a blind spot. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think it's a good idea. Yeah, you carry everything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh changing the changing a diaper.

SPEAKER_03

See, this feels like a fine to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I this was Allie and I have talked about it where stores go, I don't know. It just you it becomes so routine. Like, I don't know, you I don't know if there's people out there that think they would be like grossed out by it. It's really just you just kind of like I've gotten shit on before, I've gotten pissed on before. You're just like, oh it is what it is. Like you're not really grossed out by it, at least that's been my experience.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I might be biased. My baby doesn't poop a lot. He's like once every you gotta give that man some taco. Once every three days you gotta stop giving him gum. Keep swallowing it. Um, but no, I mean the pea diapers are nothing. That's like I do that my sleep.

SPEAKER_03

So you just do it so much time, so many times that it's just kind of like you're just gonna be.

SPEAKER_01

Early on was more annoying, but uh now it's like that's this one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm I'm with you. Plus, like, unlike feeding, like I feel like Cal like enjoys being changed. Like he like gets all like he gets relief from like relief. Like, yeah, yeah, no, that that's so like I'm I'm completely I'm okay with upgrading. I mean, like you want a good with it, change and diaper. No, because of because of I still want to because of poof it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because of the booth.

SPEAKER_03

We're just gonna have uh everything. Yeah, that's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, no, that's fine. We might have to re-hap it. I'm telling you, this is why the trash should be upgrading.

SPEAKER_00

No, it should not. Might have to do it. Oh my gosh. All right, mowing the lawn.

SPEAKER_03

See, this is where I would go. Yeah, I would go enjoyable. Of the chores, I think this is. This is a rather not for me.

SPEAKER_01

Really? I'm uh anti-lawn. I'm more enjoyable because I I love the feeling after like I love a nice cut.

SPEAKER_03

The satisfaction you can you can argue, you can argue similar to trash. It's a mini, it's a mini uh workout. Um you get to kind of throw in some headphones, listen to a pod, listen to some music, audiobooks, just a moment to get out. And then but the satisfaction, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I hear exactly on. Okay, yeah. She had to do one. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

There are times where I'm like, goddamn.

SPEAKER_00

I do love to complain about it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

The frequency of burglar.

SPEAKER_00

We can't be giving away our tricks. I feel like we let we let a little too much go. If any of the the ladies are looking at it, taking out the trash is a lot of mental, a lot of mental work. Big really hard. I would rather do, yeah. Yeah. Anything else but that. Alright, here's the next one. This one, tummy time.

SPEAKER_03

Tummy time.

SPEAKER_00

You're in charge of tummy time.

SPEAKER_03

On on the floor or on the on your stone?

SPEAKER_00

On the floor.

SPEAKER_01

For me or the baby. Well, you for you. No, my d I'm doing the oh, he's getting the work. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Use your neck. My neck is getting strong, guys. That's a good boy.

SPEAKER_00

Are you rolling over? I'm not yet. I'll get I'll get there.

SPEAKER_01

I'll get there.

SPEAKER_02

Um me or um.

SPEAKER_03

Sometimes it can be like I know it's a necessary evil. It can be sad when they're like clearly very frustrated and they're like, I think that's the question. Is how much are you?

SPEAKER_00

How much do you get bothered by them like starting to cry and stuff, which inevitably happens. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I I I don't want to say rather than progress. Yeah, like I like seeing that's where I'm at with it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I'm a good one.

SPEAKER_00

I enjoy it. I kind of like something. Yeah, or I mean good. I'm good with it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, when he gets when he gets a good one in there and he's you know looking around and it is 15 seconds. It is enjoyable, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um or if he's ever looked up and smiled like one of those. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He sees you and he's got hits like crack.

SPEAKER_01

That's it's the best. So yeah. Um all right, we'll see.

SPEAKER_03

On a tangent, have you have either of uh uh Cal or Luca have they rolled yet?

SPEAKER_01

He's gotten on his side. I've I've noticed him just letting his side.

SPEAKER_03

I'm honestly nervous for the full roll because they can't roll back.

SPEAKER_01

Or at least they're supposed to be able to, because like right, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

What if you but there's I feel like there's a period where you you could roll and then one way not go the other and not go the other way.

SPEAKER_00

We got him sleeping with his arms out and such now. Yeah, the unswaddle to be right. Yeah, I feel like you have to get it. I know fighting.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we did the unswaddle, which like it's amazing, man. Paul's freaking arms are just constantly he's like boxing people in his sleep, just freaking yeah, no no rolls, no rolls yet.

SPEAKER_01

How are how are your how are their legs? Because Luca be kicking like a mofo.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, yeah. They just always always gone.

SPEAKER_01

That's what wakes him up all the time.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, is kicks and legs oh what do you have him in? No, well not like we he we have him in like a sleep sack to where it's like yeah, it's his arms are free, but the legs still like they kick, they kick.

SPEAKER_00

Kyle like brings him up in like stomps like. Yes, yes, like that, like that. Yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Like a humpback whale just smacking on the water. That's honestly how I woke up this morning.

SPEAKER_01

That's yeah, that's usually what gets me in general.

SPEAKER_00

All right, on that note, let's go with putting the baby to sleep. Yeah, this is a this is a tough one.

SPEAKER_01

This just at night, we're not talking like naps or something. I think I think all the time. Like just like yeah, I have a different it is it is an important thing. It's an important thing.

SPEAKER_00

I totally agree with that. I enjoy putting I I I kind of enjoy putting him to bed at night. Me too. Naps are naps is naps is naps can be tough. Naps are straight up a down bad a lot of the times.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I'm gonna yeah, I'm gonna get flack for this. I I I'd rather not. It is just it's tough. Wow, because they can be, I mean, because you have no idea. Like some nights can I say rather not to all these?

SPEAKER_04

Some nights on it.

SPEAKER_03

Some nights it's like, okay, they they're just zonked immediately, right? You can put them down, they're good, whatever. There's other types they they just fight it, they're ready to they're ready to brawl.

SPEAKER_01

But you like the routine. I mean, at least I don't know, like I think the routine is cool too. The like the story, and they do the feed and okay.

SPEAKER_03

If you include that, like reading the story, like that whole process, sure. But like the end game is when I'm pacing around and he's screaming at the top of my lungs, and I've been there for 30 minutes, like that's that's you know not the not the best time. Understand it's a necessary evil, and there's maybe some bond going on there, but I'd rather not. I'll be I'll be honest.

SPEAKER_00

I gotta be honest to my listeners. I'm with you. I'm with you. It can be, it can be, you know, there are some days, you know, like Cal has his good days and his bad days. Yes, and some days you just know like I'm going into war. Yeah, I'm going into it is a war.

SPEAKER_01

If I yeah, I would kind of rather he just fall asleep to that.

SPEAKER_03

But that's but that yeah, that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

The whole even though I do enjoy the process, but yeah, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I like it is satisfying after like you watch him watching him fall asleep. Yes, yeah, when that comes and that if that comes after five minutes, it's great.

SPEAKER_03

But when it's yeah, it's what I find myself doing is like I'll watch the monitor, right? Because you know, I'm sure you guys are the same way. You put them down when they're not like they don't have to be completely asleep, right? You want them put them down while they're like somewhat cognizant, but like calm enough. Yeah, but then when they go down, like I'm watching the monitor, I'm like, oh no, he's waking up, he's waking up. Oh, he's fidgeting in. That is yeah, you know, let out like a little and then you gotta let him. You're like, oh, do I go back in there? Or do I skip it? Literally, you're just on edge until until they're like out. I don't know, bro. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes when Cal wakes up, it's gentle. It's like uh you know, like it's like, oh, will he go back to sleep on a gym? Will he not? Sometimes he wakes up and it is like, yeah, he is just he's like BTSD, like screaming at the end never experienced a day in life. And it's like, what are you what what? Why? Wow.

SPEAKER_03

Truly, like what I I asked that question. Ruining my taking out the trash time. Sorry, honey.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a smoke break. I gotta take out trash. We can do trash. I have five.

SPEAKER_00

You need to take this trash out? New rule. One diaper.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you took the trash out for an hour. Where have you been? One diaper.

SPEAKER_00

Is that the new change?

SPEAKER_02

It's the new grab milk.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, I think we're all aligned. It's a rather nodding.

SPEAKER_03

It's a rather not because it is a necessary eating. It can be stressful. It can be stressful. It can be very pleasant.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I I they don't watch anything. No, she's gonna I'm gonna get flack for that. I don't really shoveling. Shoveling. No graver.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You've already done that.

SPEAKER_00

You know, I snow shovel. Of the chores on here, I I it's almost I I this is my mowing the lawn. This is my no, we like me enjoy it. It's oh yeah, it's a little bit of a workout. You get some nice crisp. Yeah, I like the work. I was gonna comp there are days where it's too like too heavy and like too much snow, but I'm oh I I I'm up it's up there.

SPEAKER_03

Oh man, it's yeah, the the mow the lawn comp is is the same for me. Like it depends on well, unfortunately, hey, I have that I'm on the corner, so I have that long. You have to do that whole slide. So do it. Do you just I break my back every time? That's what it says.

SPEAKER_00

It's like I straight up don't think I would do it.

SPEAKER_03

Uh it's the worst.

SPEAKER_00

Nobody's walking that in winter. I agree, but like the mailman's out there is my calling someone can't this is why he would turn his son into murder. Maybe it's a good again.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, man. But like that that part sucks. But if anything, I would prefer doing that than doing it after the cars have been when it's down to it's iced. I just want to I don't want to scrape it right on the cement, throw it up, be good. Is if there's pack and I have to like chip at it, that's it's that's when I get this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But but I I would agree with Connor. It is there's a satisfaction to it. I'm the guy that throws a little salt down too. Uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Do a little salt on the sidewalk and up to your door for the mailman or Amazon, whatever.

SPEAKER_03

So if I'm looking at this, I'm good with it.

SPEAKER_01

You're good with it? No, I am like staunchly on the other side of you guys, but I mean we can we're all good with it.

SPEAKER_00

We're a team. We're good. All right, all right, here we go. We've had some diverse thoughts here. Bath time. We're gonna go baby bath time. I love it. I think it's a blast.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's it's probably the most fun thing. Wow. I don't know. I don't know. It's just like when they're because he's gotten to the point now where he's like, you you're just dumping, you're waterboarding him. No, you're just dumping.

SPEAKER_04

I think I'm at that point.

SPEAKER_03

You're just dumping water on him, and he kind of gives it like a little squirm or whatever. But he he's a big he's a big water guy. He'll be he'll be screaming crying because like you get you obviously you undress him, he's naked, he's cold, whatever. As soon as you put him in the water, he's like, Oh, yeah, this is good. Really? Oh, so it's a man, it's a good wow. Um, you it sounds like you guys had my different experiences.

SPEAKER_00

Cal Cal doesn't seem to hate it, but he doesn't. I wouldn't say he like loves it. For me, that's pretty indifferent because he does he does enjoy it a little bit. You can tell there's some aspects he likes. What I don't like about it is the boy's slippery. Yeah, he gets slippery. You and you get a band, he's all slippery. You got a oh I mean the guy's having a blast.

SPEAKER_01

We do the same thing, I think.

SPEAKER_02

And that they just look cute as hell. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

That is true, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um

SPEAKER_00

It's funny to see the balls flow.

SPEAKER_01

Has anyone done the shower with the like just hold them and oh no, I've not done that.

SPEAKER_03

No, dude.

SPEAKER_01

That is kind of a game changer. Is it really?

SPEAKER_00

I'd be like I said, they're slippery. I'd be afraid of like drop and gotta get the soapball.

SPEAKER_03

They are slippery. I mean, let me let me ask an intimate question. How often do you guys bathe in your your voice? I feel like I plead the fifth. At least once a month. I do not recall. I'm gonna I mean I don't think I don't I'm not sitting here saying that like we do it all.

SPEAKER_00

Twice three times a week? Twice a week feels I think I think we're twice a week.

SPEAKER_01

I think you're supposed to do like once every like three two to three.

SPEAKER_00

Once yeah, once every two to three days. We start stanking a little bit. We're twice a week. Like now we've been like, yeah, it's like if we've been taking like if he gets in a pool or like he's outside to do it, but yeah. Like, has there been days we've gone four or five days between bats? Yes.

unknown

Parrots.

SPEAKER_00

Parents know it's I mean, well, yeah, I'm sure we have to.

SPEAKER_03

Again, it's not something you I think if anything, you're you'd probably be drying them out if you did them every day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's really not hard, so it's like no, especially now. Like now I think he knows what's up with it, so it's not like anybody.

SPEAKER_01

Well, like I said about Luca pooping every like two to three days. That's my kind of association with because it's so much full cleanse. Yeah, you just always move.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it's like, yeah, the only like his um Tatum's rolls, he just has all the like lint and stuff in his hands. Yeah, yeah. I feel like his hands like it keeps up so much like lint and I wash his hands. Oh, the lint, the lint.

SPEAKER_00

His hands get so stinky because he's trying to eat them all the time.

SPEAKER_03

That yes, that you gotta and like they're they're we always have to clean like his fingernails, too. It always gets like dirt. I was like, what dirt are you playing in, dude? Like what? I've been you all day.

SPEAKER_01

How'd you get dirt under there?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_01

What were we thinking? Like a fine? I would put it in a fine under? Okay. I'm good with fine. All right.

SPEAKER_03

I I would bump it up, but like I I can I can attest to oh yeah, you you you enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_00

Uh all right, we'll go with we'll go with a house one. This is like uh home projects, like housework. I love your home project, man. I love me home. Where I think we're we're different skill sets. I would love to love it. I just didn't know like I'm not good at it.

SPEAKER_03

Have you ever looked let me ask you this. Have you ever tried?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I've done some like easy stuff. Like like like the bat, you know, like recoulking the bathroom and like stuff like that. Is there something that you've had like I think if I did something ambitious and like I it would be rewarding?

SPEAKER_03

I I I think you would be A, I think you would be you you would find it very rewarding. And I think the other part would be it, it is you are more capable than you realize. Like part of part of doing a project is just having the wherewithal to be like, okay, I'm I'm gonna try this. Like maybe it's not perfect, maybe it's not as good as a carpenter would come in and do. Yeah, but ultimately I I know how to measure things, I know how to cut things, I know how to screw things into a wall. Like that's like it really it is the mental barrier of just like doing something and giving it a try. And then you build confidence, you're like, okay, I'm gonna do this now, I'm gonna do this now. It it's like a snowball effect, kind of. I I would I would genuinely low, like take something low risk, change a light bulb, take something low risk that like even if you botch it, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're like we're gonna mount the TV. That is a great low risk. Perfect example, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's like but you're gonna do that and you're like, it's gonna look fucking fantastic, and you're gonna sit back and be like, that was fucking that wasn't as bad as I thought. And then you do the next thing. I I I yeah, but that satisfaction you get at the end, be like, okay, yeah. It is, it does feel good. I enjoy it. You're a smart guy, kind of. You're like, it it's really it's not a TV.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you mean that's where monkeys do it every day. You have no excuse not to with the you with the YouTube and like the AI makes it like you can't yes, yeah, you can't not, you know.

SPEAKER_03

All barriers are removed.

SPEAKER_00

All right, where are we putting it? Where are we putting it? I think it's very enjoyable. We'll put it in enjoyable for sure. We had to get one in there, yeah. I'll take it. I'll take it. Oh try. All right, cleaning the bottles. You know, like washing their bottles. The baby drawer, I feel like.

SPEAKER_01

Mainly throw it in the dishwasher, yeah. Give it a rinse out. We have a sanitize option, so is it just I I do hate taking them apart. Yeah, because it's annoying. But there's like four pieces to a bottle.

SPEAKER_03

It's like are you including all the pump parts as well in this category? Oh, pump parts? Pump parts. I've been I've been disassembling some pump parts.

SPEAKER_00

That is like ten parts. Yeah, it is, it is a pump part. Yeah, it's kind of that. That's a home project in itself.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it's getting sweet.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if you guys hear there's some. I don't bring some audio downtown in the they can't hear that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you add on pump parts, God.

SPEAKER_00

We're just gonna go out flying with it and we're gonna move on. Yeah, I mean, I guess all right.

SPEAKER_03

They're not yeah, they're not great.

SPEAKER_00

Entertaining the baby, like you know, like all right, like I hate you. Never do it. But you gotta you gotta keep them like for an hour, you know. Like it's fun playing with him. That's that's enjoyable. That's like the best baby.

SPEAKER_01

It it how can this not be it?

SPEAKER_03

Should be enjoyable.

SPEAKER_00

I'm with I'm with Nick, it's appear enjoyable, but I gotta hear Christian's second half.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, but okay, so maybe maybe my baby's we got him. Maybe my baby's broken, but like there are times where as much entertain you could be juggling on a freaking unicycle, it wouldn't matter. The guy's screaming at the top of his lungs.

SPEAKER_00

No, I I don't mean to I don't mean to give you gruff. That's how it is. Like, because it is like 80% of the time it's enjoyable. Yeah, but like the there's a like the times where it's just like why are you not like calm right now? Yes, like you just ate, you just woke up from a nab. Like, why are you you're changed, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You you you're good, brother.

SPEAKER_00

And he still seems like fussy, that's when it is like frustrating.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but but but like I don't know, I mean part of it, part of it, yeah. I mean, like you get you get that smile.

SPEAKER_01

What do we like this on chore maker? Spending time with your family. Where's that? Because down's bad.

SPEAKER_03

I I I just I bring that up just to say, like, yeah, it it's it's very fun when you like when they're they're actually obviously paying attention to you, you're you know, you're you're talking to them, they're talking back. Yeah, you know, that that's the best, obviously. Like no one would argue with that, right? But like there's a world where I mean maybe more enjoyment at like a casino table. Yeah, there you go. I give you a lot of it. You know what I'm saying? Like it's not they're not 100% of the time just like chill and engaging like that.

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes I mean it's true, but just in general, yeah. No, I yeah, I'm not literally like, yeah, like I don't know. We're we're not putting this anywhere else but in Georgia.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, I agree, I agree. But I just had to get that off my chest because Richard doesn't seem too what no, I listen. Listen, I love I love my boy. I I truly love my boy more than anything.

SPEAKER_01

He can be a little bit every episode we have to have one of these.

SPEAKER_03

He can be a little he can be a little twerp sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

That's just the fact in your kid everyone.

SPEAKER_03

That's just the fact that's that's the reality of of fatherhood. Sometimes it gets ugly.

SPEAKER_00

We gotta we got an easy enjoyable one, lads. But grilling it.

SPEAKER_03

Let it let it just put just donating. I was grilling today. I was grilling.

SPEAKER_01

It's a good time. Yeah, you'd get a grill. I don't have one yet. No qualms with that. What else?

SPEAKER_03

What else can we think of? Oh, yeah. There's a great list, Connor. There's a great list.

SPEAKER_01

Could you use a little more, but no? I mean you make good choices.

SPEAKER_03

And we always have a good bell distribution.

SPEAKER_01

I think we do that down.

SPEAKER_00

What are some down bads that we're doing? Yeah, there's missing some choice.

SPEAKER_01

I don't enjoy um laundry. Uh laundry is a down bad.

SPEAKER_00

There's so much I I don't do a lot of the baby laundry if I'm honest. So much. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_00

Never mind, Connor. Not do anything. So my thing is like, I just hate folding, and Danielle knows. I hate folding, so like I can do a good job of like making sure it's moving from the washer to the dryer when it comes to the folding. The putting away, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's just things I'm not equipped to do as well.

SPEAKER_03

Laundry's a big one. Putting the laundry, yeah, back in the little cubicle things, not good at that. I don't know. I can barely fold my own clothes, let alone something that's uh fifth the size.

SPEAKER_01

Or just putting away, what about like putting away dishes? Doing the dishes.

SPEAKER_03

Fine with the dishes. I I used to be a bus boy. Uh I would oh yeah, I would like dishes.

SPEAKER_00

Dishes do not bother me.

SPEAKER_03

That's my I'm comfortable.

SPEAKER_01

I don't mind doing them and yeah. Putting away is just so annoying. It's it's like laundry to me. It's like slow. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like I would rather load the dishwasher than empty the dishwasher.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying. Yeah, um yeah, loading, I mean, yeah. I'm fine with it all. Like it just fine. Yeah. The kitchen, like, yeah, putting away dishes, like I I realize like I'm not Danielle cooks more than me, so it's like if you like I have to then like you know, I you gotta do your weight and like the dishes. So it's like if they're out there, I put them away and like I clean them.

SPEAKER_01

Any other ones? The laundry was a good one. Yeah, thinking of chores.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean it's like I feel like my entire life is a bunch of chores, but I can't think of any. I mean, these the ones you got here are pretty encompassing.

SPEAKER_02

It sounds depressing, but but it's what it feels like sometimes, doesn't it? It's almost a weekend. You come home, you're like, oh shit, I gotta fuck it. Clean up barf. Um so how how are the boys in general? How are the boys in general?

SPEAKER_00

Cal's doing uh like great other than napping. He just don't want to nap, you know, and like that's that's kind of like there's nothing wrong. Like it's like sometimes he's like so bad at nap, it's like there's something wrong with the baby, but like he's smiley when he's not gaining weight, so it's like it's all going. Right, yeah, I think he's good on that end.

SPEAKER_03

Tatum, I think is he's very sporadic with his. I mean, we have a decent, I think, schedule structure for him, but like there are times where we try to put him in this crib, he just will not have it. He just has to have either Ally carry, you know. Oh man. Like he has to be like a con.

SPEAKER_01

Stuff when they go through stretches like that, like a con. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Could because again, like for the for the you know, new dads and or like potentially new dads, like the the feedback loop that you don't want to get into is if they're not napping, then they become overtired. Then counterintuitively, it's more difficult to put them to sleep when they're overtired. Yes. And so like it's just becomes a cycle of just not you have to kind of get them over the finish line to be like, okay, you know, whether it be you know a contact nap or or whatever, whatever, whatever it takes. If they're sleeping, you just gotta do it. Yep. At night, though, I mean he's sleeping right now from 8 to 7 a.m. Hell yeah every night.

SPEAKER_01

They're on that train. Yeah, we're not we're still not there yet, like where he's straight through.

SPEAKER_00

He'll he'll give us he's due. He give us he'll give us like you know, like five hours at a time, but like and like he has bad nights where he doesn't even give us that. But like yeah, we get five to six at a time, but we we are not close to the yeah, like 12 straight through. Yeah, uh yeah, like yeah, he does like eight to ten straight through. That would be not that would be awesome.

SPEAKER_03

Same but five to six, I mean that's that's a good you can get some weights in.

SPEAKER_00

He's definitely, but yeah, like he knows it's nighttime and he sleeps better at night, you know.

SPEAKER_03

But like Which is crazy, right? Like it's realistically, you're probably following a very similar process, yeah, putting him down at night versus you know during the naps.

SPEAKER_00

But like I don't know if it's like a circadian rhythm that is I think that yeah at night is the only time he he I can like we can consistently get him to go to sleep without being held. Yeah, like during the day, he needs to like like we have to like hold him until he falls asleep, and then we can put him down, you know, but like at night he'll he'll fall asleep on his own. But like during the day he he rarely does.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Like how how let's say the days that he is out, like is he how how is he an hour or two hours? Like how long is he out?

SPEAKER_00

Oh he naps, he naps, I would say around an hour. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We we find that in someone I don't know if it was a pediatrician or video we saw, but like Tatum will will nap for like 40 minutes on the dot and then start fussing. And what we've been told is that like that is one sleep cycle for him, yeah. And like he doesn't have the ability to then string that into the next sleep cycle. So like you would almost have to like they they said you had to preemptively go in there at right around 40 minutes, like almost sue them into that next cycle, and then he'll be out for another 40 minutes. Crazy, crazy, yeah. You learn so much about just sleeping when yeah like about yourself and then about the frickin' baby.

SPEAKER_01

Um Luca gets the same 40, like 45 minutes, like every time that's his naps. But then when a good amount, like yeah, like that's we just get him up after that, I guess. Yeah, and then yeah, and then he sleeps.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, I mean if he's if he's consistently getting 40, then yeah, I mean that's that's money. Yeah, right. Like the typically when you have to we want to go a little bit longer, is when he's he's you know not had a good nap yet. Um, you know, he's been like 15 minutes here and there or whatever, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_00

Then he can do it, yeah. Yeah, well, we do that a lot where yeah, he'll go 40 minutes and wake up and then like we try and see if we can get him into another like a little bit longer. Because he'll like Cal will go like three three hours without taking a nap if you let him, like he just doesn't want to do it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. That's crazy. That that never made sense to me before having a baby, like the so tired that they're so it's like the overtired. I was like, why would how can they be overtired? They'll just go to sleep. It's like no, they they jolt themselves up. I thought it was a myth. The first it did make it sounds like a myth.

SPEAKER_00

Like, all right, yeah, it's like, come on, all right.

SPEAKER_03

The first five weeks we hadn't, I mean, no wherewithal. We're like, why is he always crying? And it was like just go to bed. Yeah, like, no, you have to literally like help him fall asleep.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um what time are you getting him to sleep? Like eight.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so we'll start the process.

SPEAKER_00

We'll normally yeah, yeah, like try and get him asleep by we start the process like in between in between 7:30 and eight. Yeah, we do about 7.15. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He's trying to put him out 7:30, 7.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's eating he's eating at 7, and then that gets into like 7.30. We'll read him a book or two.

SPEAKER_01

Change the diaper before they go down and give him vitamin D. That's what we do.

SPEAKER_03

And then I have vitamin D. We give him some gas drops too.

SPEAKER_01

And I do keep that shit moving. Yeah, keep that literally geep that shit moving. That's yeah, true. Um, I need to do that.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, and then he's out. We I would say consistently eight o'clock is when he's in his crib.

SPEAKER_01

Like, and he goes to what time? You go to eight or something.

SPEAKER_03

So what we do is we start him in the crib, right? So he's let's let's say he's sleeping in your room. He's like you're no, he's in the crib to start in the other room. In the in his nursery.

SPEAKER_01

In his oh yeah, like not here.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and and so Allie and I will go back to our room and just you know, watch a show or whatever, just hang out for a couple hours until I'm about to fall asleep. Then I'll go go grab him, transfer him over to the bedside bassinet.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

At lunch. So we still in the whatever, 10 o'clock.

SPEAKER_01

How's that transfer go? Fine every time. He's never, he's never.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we can't we can always we can transfer in the middle of the night when he's in his D.

SPEAKER_01

They get out it, yeah, in the middle of the night.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, which is crazy because sometimes I feel like I make a peep and they're they're for naps.

SPEAKER_00

He yeah, he wakes up. The nap transfer is so sense, like it's impossible. Yeah, crazy how that is. Yeah, it's like super but yeah, no.

SPEAKER_03

So again, but they they talk about this four-month regression, sleep regression.

SPEAKER_01

That's all I hear.

SPEAKER_03

And it's like the fucking boogeyman, man. I think it's like I'm waiting for a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

I guess if we've never been to great sleep, yeah, like uh we'll see. Yeah, it's like all right. I don't know. You might regress. I mean, he sleeps okay at night. Like, it would be so tough to have him go back to like the every uh hour, you know, waking up at night. Like, because at least, like god, at least when we get him down, like you get him down by 8 30 to 9, like we can count on okay, at least like guaranteed like four or five hours of yes. The other day he woke up at 11 and it was like, why are you up right now? Like you haven't done this in like forever.

SPEAKER_01

Is he on your guys' side? I just want to clarify. Like, in in your room, is bet in the bassinet, is he on your side or is he on Ali's side? Danielle's side. Yeah, this is this is joke. That's good. It's a joke, a cruel joke I've been playing.

SPEAKER_03

I've heard that yours is the right way to do it. I think so. That's what they say, is that like they smell the the breast milk and it and they wake him up.

SPEAKER_00

Um my side, but then like when when we were like it's a breastfeeding thing, like it just makes it easier. Yes, you wake up like yeah, that's yeah, no, yeah, we didn't really. I I don't know. I have no problem with being on like the the side doesn't make a difference to me. Like I I would be fine with it.

SPEAKER_01

For me, it just he there's his twitches and noises, and he starts when he starts going like starts like waking up. It always wakes me up. You're the first line of I'm a lighter sleeper too.

SPEAKER_00

The problem is I'm a lighter sleeper than Amanda, but yeah, so I I am the the heavier sleeper and sleeping far away. There are there are times I do not there are times I do not wake up when I do it. You a dead shout out of the week. Well rested. All right, all right. I think we were out we were out of the episode up. It's been a good one.

SPEAKER_03

Stick around, stick around to the after show. Gotta air it out another 30 minutes. No, good. I this will this a longer app, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we want to we went a while, but you know, yeah. We wanna we want to make sure we take you guys out.

SPEAKER_02

This is all we got. This is all we got.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but we'll we'll have the video back next week. Apologies, you tube uh YouTubers. Yeah, I think we should keep doing these two. Worst producer in the world, but we'll we'll figure it out.

SPEAKER_01

We'll find some other dad topics for you guys.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. Looking forward to that dad question, Chab.

SPEAKER_01

For next week? Yeah, you got it. Yeah, you got it? I got it. Okay, I'll save it though. All right.

SPEAKER_03

What's your favorite color?

SPEAKER_01

What's your favorite dad moment?

SPEAKER_00

We'll wrap it up. See you guys next time. All right, see you.
