Well.. tough guys need to leave. Sounds cool, doesn’t it? Very cool. You guys.
Hello, ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome back to another episode of Bee Town Stories with Schnazzle Simpkins and Jerry Lagar. I'm Schnazzle.
SPEAKER_01Hey, I'm Jerry Lagar from Canada. Um, would would you consider that an a cappella rendition of our theme song that we just did? I think so. Um maybe we should uh include that? Include that. Let's do it. Let's do it. This is a special episode. We're gonna have an a cappella version of our theme song. I love it, man. Um Lagar, how you doing today, brother? Fucking fantastic. You know, I've no, I'm just chilling. No, it's a good day. It's a good day. Um I'm on vacation. Oh, fantastic. Well, I got a week off from work. I'm not gonna go anywhere. Maybe Tacoma. Staycase. A staycase. But uh it's just I mean, actually, I really like going to work. And so usually like what I've done in the past is like request the day before my vacation and the day after my vacation off. So I extend my vacation by two days. So it's a nine-day week. Nice. But I didn't do that this time because every time I do that, in the middle of it, I go, Man, I just want to go back to work. Okay, I really enjoy going to work. I like my job.
SPEAKER_03What's the saying? If you enjoy your work, you will never work a day in your life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. But I wouldn't say I love it. And I fucking work. So that whole thing, you know, that you just made up doesn't really apply to me. I love it, man. Just kidding. But yeah, just uh gonna chill out and uh do some uh you know, some spring cleaning or something, you know. And yeah, you know, what's up with you?
SPEAKER_03Enjoy. Uh I'm just hyping my book. Uh, you know, I'm getting in more and more bookstores. Um you know, I got this the uh some of the best fucking news. Like, you know, I worked really hard writing this book, and I've been doing these zines around town. And the goal is for, you know, I put out the first three chapters in this zine uh and just leave them everywhere, true to the punk rock ethos of the book. Very DIY. Exactly. And uh there and I've also been working with re local retailers, and this retailer called me yesterday, and she was like, I'm I'm all out of your books. And I was like, Holy shit, that's amazing. And so I went to deliver more books, and uh I she told me the story. Like, so this this girl read my zine, and she got to the end of the zine, and she had to see what was going on in the story. So she called this uh bookstore, and then she called me, and it, you know, just the whole cycle of like marketing and finding the zine, reading it for free, and then getting the book, and then having somebody be excited about it and like say it's good is like so stoking. You know what I mean? It's like this shit's it's working, and like you know, the story is like meant to entertain people in our uh in our you know community vicinity, and uh I dig it when people are get back to me and I've been getting some good feedback. So no, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Like I I know that exact feeling, like when I used to put on shows all the time when you you know there's just like a vibe where it's like everyone's just having a great time, and then you know, even years later, like people will say, Oh man, remember this one show you did that was so awesome. I don't know, it's just really good to like put something out in the community that's appreciated appreciated, and you get you know props for it, you know.
SPEAKER_03Also, like I'm doing really advantageous deals for these book retailers, and like it stokes me up that they're making money off the book. We're both making a little bit of money. So that's cool, but uh yeah, man. And I've been spending a lot of time in Bremerton, and Bremerton's fucking nice now. It's not like when we were younger. No, yeah, it was fucking ghetto in the 80s and the early 90s. And I think that's kind of a cool segue into uh how rough and tumble it used to be. Maybe we could talk about some fights, you know? Yeah, there was some fucking fights. Like it used to be hardcore. I met this dude even in California, was like, yeah, you know, I used to live up in Washington, maybe Anna Cordis or some shit. But he was just like, Yeah, you never fight a guy from Bremerton, you know? Yeah, like that's the rule, you know. Like, probably because it's a Navy town, you know, and there's a just a disproportionate amount of dudes to chicks. The only thing Brem guys in Bremerton do is get pissed off because there's not enough chicks, yeah, and then they get drunk and then they fight each other.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's like and it happens so many so often. Like I back when there was the cruise, remember the cruise? Yes. Where the top or you'd hang out at Taco Bell on the east side and then fucking cruise down to the the Taco Bell Posse. Yes, Taco Bell Posse. And then you everyone hang out, smoke cigarettes, smoke weed, take you know, little fucking travel shots of fucking booze. And uh Taco Bell was really cheap back then, so you could get a snack or whatever for very, very uh good deal. But anyway, and then you after you're done hanging out there for a while, you'd get in your car and go five minutes down the road and hang out at the bank down on Pacific. Yeah. And I saw a fight. Every time I went there, there was a fight.
SPEAKER_03Dude, there was fights everywhere. Like I I you would drive from like our neck of the woods, like just through Bremerton to like get to the ferry, and you turn right, and there's just like somebody fighting in the bag and save parking lot, like throwing down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like it would have been a lot cooler if we had like cell phone cameras or cameras, like video cameras back then. And but like I just like I follow a bunch of like community pages that are on Facebook, and they're always posting fights with like and it's most of them are centralized in the downtown area around like the 7-Eleven, which is predominantly like the area that you know junkies and yeah, unhoused people like spend their time. So there's always a fight going on down there, and like those always pop up online, they're super funny to watch.
SPEAKER_03But let me fights are just funny, yeah. They are. But let me ask you this. This is an interesting question. Who do you think was the toughest dude in Bremerton you knew? Oh shit. Um or even somebody who you think was fucking just tough.
SPEAKER_01Well, Jesse and Ryan. Yeah, those guys were fucking tough. Like, and they're just like little spud boys, you know? Yeah, you would not think by looking at Jesse and Ryan that they were tough, but like those guys could scrap. Uh totally.
SPEAKER_03Dude, you know who super tough. The Vincent. Yeah, uh, fucking shout out Carl Johnson. Carl Johnson, tough as fuck.
SPEAKER_01Uh, I never saw Carl uh squabbing with anyone.
SPEAKER_03Well, I don't think he had to because well, dude, there's he was just cool with everybody, dude. This one time we were chilling at like the Four Lovers fucking compound, yeah, which was like Mike Westover's mom's house or something. Yeah. And I I don't know if it was the place, but like Carl was there and like we were all drinking. And uh I was just like, hey Carl, hey Carl, hey Carl, let's play Hit for Hitting the Shoulder, Carl. Hey Carl, man, come on, Carl. And he's just gotta be like, fucking nerd. Like fucking hyperactive, weird ADHD guy, you know? So finally, like he was like, Okay, fine, let's do it. And I like I hit him in the shoulder and missed, and then he'd like punched me in the shoulder and broke my shoulder for like two years. Hey Carl, it's fucking hey Carl, you wanna play hit for the shoulder, Carl? Hey Carl, fuck you, nerd.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, I wouldn't want to get hit by a Zarl either.
SPEAKER_03But uh yeah, just like what are some good fights that you can remember? There's so many.
SPEAKER_01I just like well, I'm gonna talk about something that was almost a fight since we're talking about the Taco Bell Posse. Yeah, this one time fucking uh backstory. Yeah, me and boy and Dave Mitchell were hanging out at my dad's house. Um in the we were skipping school and just like smoking weed, eating my parents' food, whatever, you know. And my neighbor and his friend just happened to be out skipping school too, and they were just talking in the driveway or whatever. And Mitchell thought it would be a good idea to go get my dad's shotgun out of his bedroom and point it at them out the side of the house.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's not a good idea.
SPEAKER_01No, not a good idea. So I'm like, What the fuck are you doing? Because like I was just like doing something else, and I all of a sudden I see him pointing a shotgun out the window, and so I shut the blinds. I was like, Holy shit, those guys are gonna fucking kill us. Anyway, yada yada yada. Two years, well, one, two years later, something like that. I'm up at the the Taco Bell with the posse, you know, just hanging out. And the dude that's not the neighbor, that it was his friend, he just assumes that it was me that pulled the gun. Oh no. So I see him there with his whole posse of dudes who just looked like they wanted to kill me. And then uh I went there with Travis Trinka.
SPEAKER_03You know, I bet Travis Trinka could fight.
SPEAKER_01Uh I was just not even about like getting into any squabs with these dudes because I was just gonna get killed. So the dude's just like, fight me, and I was like, no. He's like, I'll put one arm behind my back and give you a baseball bat. Yeah, and I was like, no, I don't want to fight you, man. And I just all and I'm just like slowly getting surrounded by like 20 dudes. I may be just exaggerating, but it was there was a lot of people there, and it was just me and Travis. I didn't really know anyone else there at the time. And out of nowhere, after like just cowering to this guy, and fucking, I was like, look, and Travis is gone. He dipped on you? Yeah, but check it out. He fucking went and got in his fucking his was it a Jeep or a Land Rover? One of the two. It was a I'm pretty sure it was a Jeep. He went and got in it, started it up, and this was out of a fucking movie, dude. He fucking comes squealing around the corner so everyone looks at at him because he's like burning rubber into this crowd, and just rolls up and slams on his brakes and opens the door right where I'm at, so I could dive in the fucking Jeep, and he just fucking hauled past. It was fucking amazing. I was like, it's straight out of a fall guy episode or something like that, dude. So shout out to Travis Trinka for saving my my life that night at the Taco Bell. But uh no, most of the fights I got in in my younger years were with my brother.
SPEAKER_03Like we were always well, you and me and you almost got into a fight once. Well, we were just being drunk, yeah, stupid. Uh Mike was a fucking savage, dude. He's a fighter.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm not a fighter, he's a fighter. But somehow I beat him up multiple times, not being a fighter.
SPEAKER_03Well, you're the older brother, so like there's that factor where like the older brother can kind of always kick the younger brother's ass, you know.
SPEAKER_01I should not have been able to do that. And like the one time that stands out the most in my head, Chris York loves telling this story when we're you know drinking. Well, I don't drink anymore, obviously, because I'm edge as fuck. But uh he tells a story a lot where the first time we ever met, he was friends with Mike before I was friends with him. Yeah, and they I came home and I'm this was about a pennywise tape. My brother had let me, and that was like the first band I really got into that was in the the new kind of school punk band. And I broke the case, and my brother was like, stand in the driveway with Chris. I get home, he's like, Hey, where's my pennywise tape? And I was like, Oh, here's the tape. I broke the case, you know. I was like, the the J card is still fine, you know. You can just find an old fucking one of my dad's country tapes and take the fucking case. But I think he was trying to like show off in front of his new buddy who's standing there with a huge Adams apple. And uh so just joking, Chris, if you're listening to this. I love you, brother. Um, so he just starts bitching at me, and we just get in this fucking crazy fight, and we're just like knock down, drag him out on the ground, and he was getting no shots in on me, and I'm wearing combat boots like because I was super grunge. Yeah, and fucking uh kicked him in the shin, fucking knocked him down, and Chris is just like standing like, holy shit, this guy's fucking whooping this dude's ass, you know. And Mike's in the white boy posse at the time. They're supposed to be tough, they're not tough.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know, dude. Why I mean Rick Seton was in the white boy posse and he was fucking tough as shit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true. And schoolie B.
SPEAKER_03Also, like not you know how like I mean, Rick Setton was also the the pitcher of like our C-string, like under 12 or whatever team. And you know how like there's Cuban kids that like don't have like a uh birth certificate and they come here and they play like high school baseball, but they're really like 24. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like Rick Setton is the white boy version of that. Oh yeah, yeah. He he was like maybe born in like Belfare and doesn't have a differ certificate and was just carried all of our fucking teams on his shoulder, dude. Like he like single-handedly like like pitched us into like a championship.
SPEAKER_01Six feet tall in fifth grade. But uh I digress. Um, so anyway, like Chris is just watching this fucking fight, and my dad pulls up and right when this in the middle of this melee, and fucking my dad just gets out of his truck and he's like, You stupid fucking idiots comes over there fucking pulling me and Mike apart. And Chris is just like standing there, like, what the fuck is going on? You know, he just like went over to this new friend's house after school, and my dad's like, You go inside, you go over there, blah blah blah. And Chris is just standing there like, uh, well, you got your ass kicked. This guy kicked your ass. I'm gonna go be friends with this guy. And so Chris just walks up to me. He's like, Hey, what's up? I'm Chris, and I'm like, we've been friends ever since.
SPEAKER_03Dude, were you with us the time when we got punked by that one kid out front of family pancake house?
SPEAKER_01No, I know I so right when you said that was like me and Mike.
SPEAKER_03I don't, it might have been Noel and I don't know, maybe even one other person, and we're like big dudes, and like this this like crazy little kid, like it's this little dude was just like, What are you gonna do, motherfucker? Why don't you jump? Let's jump like getting in our face, and we're like uh no man, we're cool, we don't want to fight. Which is like sometimes you get like a this B town somebody like coming at you in B town that's just like crazy as fuck, yeah. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, uh yeah, that's a risk car now. It is get into that kind of squab.
SPEAKER_03You know, there was all types of fight. Did you see any good fights at punk rock shows? Uh like bars? Several. I almost Chris always gets fucking boy always gets into fights at bars.
SPEAKER_01Well, uh, like around the end of my my drinking days, like six, seven years ago, him and I were uh at what's that little tiny fucking bar up on Perry Avenue? Um kind of a near the red apple market? Yeah, yeah. That what's that little fucking place called? It's like Dave's garage or some shit. No, that was the garage. That was the bigger place. I'm talking about the little bar. Anyway, it was behind the in the back of a restaurant. Uh why the fuck can't I remember the name of that? Anyway, we're hanging out in this little dive bar that's like literally the size of your kitchen.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And well, twice the size. Yeah. And uh they're just wasted. We started drinking at like two in the afternoon or something, like you know, we do. And uh this bridal shower comes in. Like they were having like it was either a bridal shower or like a bachelorette party or something. Like it's just all these girls kind of dressed up, and you could tell one of them had like some sachet across their body that said like the bride or some shit like that. And uh we're also hanging out and fucking uh they another girl comes in and gets in an argument with the bride of this group, and they're just yelling at each other, and we're just kind of like standing off to the side, like just laughing at them, basically, you know, and pointing at them and whatever. And uh they start pushing each other. One of the the chick that was the instigator that came into the party. I guess she said the bride fucked her man or something like that. One of those things, anyway. It turns into a fist fight, and we're like, oh shit. And like we weren't trying to break it up, we're just you know, on the city.
SPEAKER_03Dude, fist fight at like a marriage event is very Bremerton.
SPEAKER_01That is very Bremerton, could be a bell fair as well. Yeah. Uh, but uh, so we're just like watching these two girls fight, and then someone kind of breaks it up, and the last thing the chick that's leaving wants to do before she fucking bounces before the cops show up is throw an empty whiskey glass that's sitting on the table next to her at this chick as hard as she can uh with her Rick Seton arm, wings this whiskey glass at this chick, and it misses her, and I'm like five feet behind her, and it whizzes right by behind my head. And I turn to say to Chris, Did you see that? And it had hit him in the fucking head and split his head open, and he's just standing there, like wasted and kind of like in shock. Whole face just covered in just pouring blood. It was raining blood on his face. Wow. And it was fucking just chaos. I don't remember what happened after that, but I went in the ambulance with him to the hospital. I have some pictures of us in the hospital, and he got like 10 staples in his head, just like seriously, like the biggest gash I've ever seen in person in someone's body was in his head. And uh unfortunately it was under his hair a little bit and his hair grew back. And um, you can't see the scar.
SPEAKER_03Speaking of Rick Settman throwing heat and being a badass all together, like we so he was obviously the best pitcher on our baseball team, and we uh we were the Tracy Ton, you know, that was our our crew, it was all the Tracy Ton Pee-wee's.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And we played this team from Bremerton, and uh like you, you know, like kind of uh the baseball field that was down there by OC. Do you remember that? Maybe it's a gone now, but oh no, it's still there, it's still there. It's called like Warren Avenue Ballpark or something like that. We were playing there, and uh this pitcher on the other team was up was also a really good pitcher, and he beamed, I think it was like Micah Clayton, like one of the guys on our team, and uh like hard. Yeah, and went down and uh Rick didn't like that very much. So the next time this pitcher came up to bat, like I just knew he was gonna fucking beat him. Just through heat, the guy like tried to turn and it hit him like in the middle of his spine and just was just like like spinning around nice. It was so great. Dude, also like just before we change the subject, like I this isn't really a fight story, but like another Rick Set and is my hero story. Dude, like the team we were um we were pretty good because of him, but one team had beaten us that year. And it was like Ryan Kraft's team. Oh, okay. And like Dave, and so they and they 10 runned us the year before. And so it was us versus them in the championship, and we were playing at Tracyton Field. Uh and this these fucking teams, this team shows up with like this huge like Kinko's fucking banner that's just like uh Tracy Ton champions, blah blah blah. Like before we the game was even over. Like they just they were like, Oh, we 10 run these guys last time. We're gonna kick their ass. We're gonna kick their ass again. And it gets to the ninth inning and the bases are loaded, and fucking here comes Rick Seton, dude, just hits the ball, like grand slam to like beat them, like maybe into the water, dude. Like, just so far. And like Sean's house. It was so great, dude. Like, it was just the most magical sporting, like the only time I've ever been of like a winning team, and like all their like Ryan Kratt, their whole team was like crying and shit, and their parents, like I I don't, I don't remember if we ripped the banner, but like like fuck you, man. Bringing a fucking banner to us. We got Rick Seton, boy. Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just visualized that whole thing and just the elation that must have been present on that ball field at that time.
SPEAKER_03I think we went to Spearhoes after or um Pietros.
SPEAKER_01You gotta go to Pietros, dog. The arcade. So great, dude.
SPEAKER_03I yeah, no, uh I think in one of my episodes of Franklin and Bash, I named a character gave a character a last name Seton. Oh yeah. It's a good last name. Yeah, you did.
SPEAKER_01You know? Um what was that? You told me about a fight that you got in with You and Mike with some fucking some young punk rockers at a house party.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was God, dude, it was like maybe 20 years ago. I mean, the the basically Mike just saved my I was being a complete asshole and just drinking this person's keg of beer and like they were all gonna kick my ass. And like they had cornered me into a wall, and I kind of don't remember. I was pretty much blacked out the whole time. But like really Mike saw from across the room and just did like a triple step, like he's about to throw somebody out from like right field at home, yeah, and just right in front of my face, just knocked this dude cold out. And like we ended up getting sorry, I spit on you.
SPEAKER_01But uh shit just spit on me for everyone.
SPEAKER_03We but we barely got out of there, but like Mike like saved my life that night. I fully deserved to get my ass kicked that night. I was just being a fucking piece of shit, which you know, drinking does that, yeah. It's uh but uh which is why I'm I guess I'm so glad I'm fucking sober now and just don't have to worry about just getting my fucking ass kicked. I had a pretty decent record at fighting. Like I was I was like half and half. Like sometimes it would go my way and sometimes it wouldn't. But I a lot of the times the thing about it is, especially in Bremerton, like if you get like drunk to the point where you are going to fight somebody, you're too inebriated to properly fight. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So you get your fucking ass kicked. Yeah, so like I don't know. We've told this the story about that fight with the vampire dudes. Yeah, that's a great one. Which is like my brother did almost the exact same thing where like I'm in this dude's face and Mike just comes out of nowhere over my shoulder and just levels this fucking dude. Yeah, and like just turn it. That was a crazy fight. But like most of I have more almost fight stories than fight stories, just because like, and they're all in a bar where like some guy saw me, he's drunk, I'm a big ass dude. He's like, Oh, I'm gonna pick that dude over there to start some shit with so I look tough or whatever, and it never escalates to anything because there's no way that's gonna fucking happen, you know.
SPEAKER_03Have you ever seen like the fun, like the fun bar fights are like a couple guys get into it and then they they square up and they go at it, and they get it each get a couple shots in and it's a good fight, and then afterwards they're just like it's a good fight, man.
SPEAKER_02All right, brother. All right, brother. Let's go do a shot.
SPEAKER_03Which is that's the way it should be, man. Yeah, if you want to like you know, square up and and and do some shit, like it's it's over, you know, drop it after that.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, I got uh uh so many times like somebody tried to fucking fight me at fucking ed or fucking uh Tracy Den a couple times down there, and then just like now that you know there's lots of security as far as you know it's not crazy as fuck like it used to be.
SPEAKER_03No, not really, you know. But uh but yeah, um let me I'm I wonder if uh our producer Kevin Jones has any cool fight stories. K KL, what's up, Doug?
SPEAKER_00I don't really have cool fight stories, I have embarrassing fight stories for the world. So you've seen before? Uh well, yeah, in a way. Like, I mean, so you know, I'm talking about Brownsville, I'm talking about elementary school. So the majority of my fights, which I got in a lot, I got a lot of pink slips, got in a lot of trouble.
SPEAKER_01Pink slips.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. But it was the fights where he'd like punch somebody and then run, and then like run, and then you're just waiting for them to catch you to punch you back, that kind of thing. Uh, but there's two that really stick out in my mind. First was one time I was actually like uh I was congratulated because I stopped a fight. Um basically there was uh one kid named Rashad and another kid, I believe his name was Kyle, might have been Chris, but um, they were starting to fight, and I broke it up and I kind of pushed Rashad aside because Rashad um was a black kid who was very strong and and kind of had some anger issues. Uh, who knows what was going on? But um this kid, you know, he he actually I found a lady probably deserved to have his ass beat because I think he dropped the N-word. But anyways, I broke it up, you know, and I and the the school monitor gave me a top banana award that had up. I was like, yeah, look at me, I'm doing good. Well, grades come around that same year, and I'm sitting there and I get my grades and they're whatever, and I'm walking out, and then I hear this, Kevin, and I look back and it's Rashad, and he comes up and he grabs him, and he's like, I did so bad, and it's all your fault. And he picked me up on my neck and just started punching me, just beating the shit out of me. And it was actually Justin Gardsik and James Newbauer. Um Justin Gabershack? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They saved him.
SPEAKER_03That name sounds familiar.
SPEAKER_00They saved me and uh um and and and push and push him aside. And I was all sad, like, oh my god, I can't believe this, you know? And then Rashad's just like walking off. And I was just so angry about the whole thing that I literally ran back at him and I jump kicked him right in the head. Like I'd never done anything like that. But I was seriously like, suddenly I become Bruce Lee and just fucking took him out. Yeah. Yeah. But it nothing after that, you know. But then the big fight later that happened to me that has always haunted me, truly kind of tainted my Brownsville days, was when um Did you say tainted my brown?
SPEAKER_03Yep. Kevin, you did just say that.
SPEAKER_00I did just say that. I'll give you that a tramp stamp, taint my brown. But anyways, uh, I was I was busy, so um, we had uh you had the two sixth grade classrooms. You had, I believe it was it was it Mr. McVicker or Mr. Kraft was in the sixth grade class, and then you had Mrs. Horst in my class. Mr. Kraftcheck. Mr. Kraftchek, yes. And I was going over because my best buddy David Weigel was over there, and I was talking with him, and there were two bullies in there, Daniel Bernstein and Sean Young, and they were like, We want you out of this classroom. And I'm like, Well, I'm talking to my friend before class. They're like, No, we want you out, and they literally like picked me up and threw me out of the class, like they picked me up physically and threw me out of the class, and I was you were I was well, I was super small. Oh, so true though. I'll give you, I was so small, and here's what happens. But here's the thing, though, too. I'm also at this point deathly afraid of my dad. My dad had no issues kicking my ass, you know. Definitely, definitely had the cops called him on that shit, too. Like that bad. Yeah, yeah. I lost my I actually had to stop being friends with David Weigel because one time my dad choked me out and I called David parents, be like, I'm so scared. And he was just like, Well, for one, he convinced the cops that it wasn't a deal. Like, I was just disciplining him, and then and then I never got to be friends with David Weil again. But, anyways, I go back in there, I'm so angry. And at this point, too, it's like there's a crowd coming around, and like, so everyone's like, Yeah, fight, fight, fight, fight. In the middle of class, Mr. Kraftek, I look over, is just staring and like it's like working on paperwork or whatever, like not doing anything while like literally there's like a huge like a feral kid fight going on. And so I'm like, oh god. And then I'm like, man, if I like punch this kid, I could get in a lot of trouble and then get a lot of trouble at home. This is gonna be bad. So my idea was is I'm gonna fake him out. I'm gonna punch over him and then drop to my knees. And it was the dumbest thing I could have done. Because I literally just whiffed. I just like I punched over his head, dropped to his knees, and the reaction was look at you, look at you, you idiot. I like went back to the kids. Yeah, just crying, like, oh no, why? And of course, too, like everyone gave me shit after that. Stacey Johnson, I still remember you in my math class, like, hey, look at me, I'm Kevin, and then like whipping, you know, like doing this stuff, you know. So I never got a it was so funny too because I told my story to my dad that later he's like, remind me, I'm gonna teach you how to fight. So this never happens again. So I'm like, okay. So then later I was like, Dad, teach me how to fight. He's just like, well, just don't do anything when the teacher's looking. And I'm like, that is not helpful, that is not helping me. And then I went to Fairview, never got in any fights, but like I had like somebody kind of attack me once as a joke in a locker, and then he got suspended for a week, like in-house suspension. So yeah, Fairview is actually pretty safe. But I was in a fast food gang. I was in the Burger King fast food game, and we all had to jump in. So, like, literally, like Burger King? What do you like? You like those chicken nuggets, or you like the chicken tenders better? Like chicken tenders, like, okay, you're ready. And then we're punched in, you know? Bee town stories, man.
SPEAKER_03I love it, I love it. Um, yeah, I I got my ass kicked once at Fairview. That wasn't cool. But uh by Robbie Cordero, it was and it just happened out of nowhere. I think it was like Bobby Gaon was just like, hey, she heads gonna fight Robbie, and I'm like, I am and then everybody's just like uh gathering around, and I'm like, Well, yeah, what do you want, dude? And you just like with one punch, just knock me clean out, and like people were like lifting him up on their shoulders, like he was Rocky, like you did it!
SPEAKER_04And they were just like, Fuck you!
SPEAKER_01There was a point, a point where when I was in eighth grade, we had this huge half pipe in our backyard. Well, huge to us little kids, but it was like probably like five feet tall and had no flat on it. It was called we everyone called it the ditch. But anyway, um, my parents and the Como's parents, they chipped in and we built this. No one ever wrote it because it was impossible to ride. But for some reason, that became like the spot where everyone that was gonna fight from Fairview would come down to our house and hang out on the fucking half pipe and watch fights in the yard. That happened several times.
SPEAKER_00Crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, god, you should have videotaped it like bum fights or something. You could sit up on top of the fucking the half pipe and get a good view of the fight or whatever. Yeah, for sure. Uh sit on the the flat part of it, but but anyway, so there was lots of fights down there because of that.
SPEAKER_00Would people tell you they were gonna fight? When people like Josh, man, yeah, this was like planned.
SPEAKER_01Okay, like, but they didn't say like, hey Josh, can we use your backyard to fight? You know, it was just like they were like, hey, meet me at the shitty half pipe.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But then you would show up and be like, I guess we're hosting a fight. Yeah, anyone anyone something to drink? Lemonade? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm, you know, I watch a lot of Netflix and true crime, and it seems like the the violence has become you know a lot less, and it's become more about like bullying and cyber shit, and we didn't have all that stuff back then. We we just went straight to you know, fist of cuffs, yeah. Settle it like fucking monoimano, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's more like just like online bullying and demoralizing someone until they fucking start cutting themselves. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I mean that could almost actually be psychologically worse than getting your ass kicked, you know.
SPEAKER_03I mean, when I got my ass kicked by Robbie, people would just come up to me in the hall and be like, you're a pussy. Like, could you imagine if that was online all day? You know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But uh, anyways, I'm glad we've grown past that, dude. Especially with like giving up booze, it's that's one of the things that you just god, like just waking up hung over from a blackout, just beat the shit out of is really awful. Yeah, I don't recommend it, you know. So it's just uh I'm glad a lot of that's in the past, Josh. Josh and I are now pacifists, right? Yeah. I think that comes with age too, growing up, and you know.
SPEAKER_01I sometimes want to beat people up though. Really? I mean, just yeah, just I'm not gonna get into that. But not like I'm angry, but there's just some people I just think like if you just popped them once, it might teach them a little lesson. Do you do you want to I'm not gonna do it?
SPEAKER_03Do you want to start training with me? Do you want to do some like fucking uh Batuku Khan or some uh BJJ?
SPEAKER_01But uh uh BJJ.
SPEAKER_03Brazilian jujitsu. Oh, oh, yeah. He was hoping blowjob was in there. Anyways, uh hey, put in the comments if you've uh if there's any classic B Town fights.
SPEAKER_01I I always like to hear the stories about fights, but yeah, they're entertaining, like I said, especially on video.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Anyways, yeah. So well, I think that's a good uh another good B-town story in the can, boys. Uh let's wrap this one up. Um, you know, okay. Thanks for listening to B Town Stories with Schnazzle and Jerry on Schnazzle.
SPEAKER_01Hey, I'm Jerry, and I just want to you know tell you all to take her easy, okay?
SPEAKER_03Get in there and enjoy.
SPEAKER_01Just get in there and enjoy.
SPEAKER_03Until next time, take her easy.
