A different kind of episode we got a few interviews at a retreat we were invited too. Something about Men coming together to worship the Lord.

Hey, welcome Battleground Believers. We're in we're not in studio. We're not in the two-bar blue studio. We're at Sunrise Church off Illinois Road. Illinois and uh Scott Road. And uh this morning we're at a retreat. Uh men's retreat. The brave and the bold. Andrew Talamente has put this together, and we're so proud to have the opportunity to be here. Matt Carter's with us today, which is kind of nice. We're gonna start interviewing people and uh talking to people and trying to get some footage of this uh this great event. There's something to be said about when men come together and uh pray together and spend time together, not to take away from ladies, but there's a real power in men, I think, right? And so that's what we're doing today. Uh it's kind of a messy setup, it's kind of uh a little different on how we're doing this because we're learning. So forgive us. And we're Christians, so you have to forgive us, right? So um, without further ado, Raven Bull Retreat. We'll start pulling people over and start talking to them and introducing ourselves to them and uh uh getting to know them a little bit and seeing kind of what they want to get out of this. Man, a few words. So all right. Hey, this is Andrew Salamentez. He's the one that set this up. This is Sunrise Church off of Illinois and Scott, right? Yep, Scott Rose. And uh, what we're gonna do is take a minute and let you kind of share your vision of this and what you hope to see God do today. Oh, yes, indeed.

So uh about a year ago, uh the Lord put it on my heart to put a conference together for men of God. So uh the first one, of course, as you know, happened January 10th this year. So this time, though, uh it's gonna be just powerful. This uh called walking by faith and just trusting in the Lord. I just pray the Holy Spirit moves and just touches the hearts and minds of people, just knowing that God is always with them through the trials and tribulations. Yeah, and that they just they're gonna have to be blessed today. It's powerful testimonies, wonderful guys. Uh yeah, it's gonna be an awesome time.

Yeah, and uh side note, the first time we came, we're kind of in a small room. Yeah, and now we had to move to the bigger room because there's more people, uh, which is good. That means it's catching it's catching fire, right? And again, there's something about men coming together. Yes, real powerful, uh, I think. And and the fact that you would take the time and have the vision to do this, we we appreciate it so much. And we appreciate you allowing Battleground believers to be here. Oh, your ministry, brother.

You guys are awesome. You guys, this is your ministry, and you guys, it's a movement for the kingdom of God, so it's awesome. And like when men come together, it's powerful. Yeah, because uh in this culture, in this society, we're taught to be a certain way. A lot of men don't trust, a lot of men keep it close to the heart, but this allows people to come hear the testimonies of other men and just open up and then let that guard down and let Christ in. Absolutely.

Well, I came today to get a uh feel from a move from God. I want to see a move of God and man. I came today to be around man today, uh to break these barriers, to break uh uh strongholds, um, to get where we can be able to connect together and be able to uh be vulnerable and talk about things that we struggle with in life, right? And get prairied over. So I came today for an exciting moment of God and the move of God.

Well, you know, me and Andrew, uh, we we we do a man's group together too, and uh he's been you know with me and we've been going together, and uh he told me about it, and we uh, you know, just being around him. Sometimes we don't we if we're not around the right people, we don't hear the right things, right? Yeah. So I was around the right person at the right time, and he's told me, hey man, let's go to this bold and brave. I'm I'm running in, I'm doing it, and uh I'm here.

Yeah, I'm here. I know he I know he appreciates your support. So you you alluded just a second ago to uh the fact that you have a Bible study. That's on Tuesday nights, right?

What are you hoping to hear from God?

Um, hearing other people's testimonies is a biblical thing. Uh, it's just so powerful. The last event here, um it was some people that Andrews work started working with. They shared some really powerful testimonies, and it like it broke my heart. And um, but you need to hear testimonies like that every now and then because it shows you that people have gone through so much more than you, you know? And you can even imagine. You know, people have gone through um slavery, rape, you know, like so many horror stories, and yet they love the Lord, you know? Yeah, so that just boosts me to really uh remember who the Lord is uh in my times of need.

That's great. So, matter of fact, our podcast, Battleground Believers, our tagline is telling his story through your story. And the idea is to allow people to come on and share their testimonies so that somebody watching it that can relate to that story can say, Hey, if that guy made it, I can make it. So that's awesome. So that's right in line with what this podcast is actually about. So, so glad you're here today. So nice to meet you. Uh, what uh how'd you find out about the Brave and Bull retreat? Uh my brother Andrew, um, he's the host.

Yeah, I'm just hoping the game to connect with other men who are who are followers of God and just hope to connect more and see what Andrew's got built up here through Bold and Brave and learn more and how I can take that back into my life and with my family and my walk with Jesus.

Excellent answer. That's that's exactly what we're trying to do today, right? Connect connect men with other men. Yes and and realize, hey, we have a power through the Holy Spirit.

How did you find out about the Brave and Bold retreat?

SPEAKER_00 7:34

Uh I attend Sunrise Church, so we've been going so we've got been going to Sunrise for about three or four years now, and so they so Andrew got up and spoke about it uh a few weeks ago, and they've been promoting it for a few weeks, and so I know they did one back in January that I wasn't able to go to, and so uh when they put that one up, when they were talking about it during the sermon one day, my wife's like, Hey, you you should really think about going to that. I'm like, Well, you know, you know, we potentially have you know boys soccer games and things going on. And she's like, No, I really think you need to go. So a little encouragement for my wife to just uh kind of get out of my comfort zone and re and connect with other men. So that's how we've heard about it.

Well, we so much appreciate your time being willing to come here and share kind of what you were hoping for, and uh and actually being a part of it. It was very nice meeting you today, brother. And uh I coached wrestling for a lot of years, so I I related, like I we're one of the tough ones, right? Some people here that never wrestled.

Every time you talked about grabbing a guy, I was like, Yeah, that dude's a wrestler because he's he's doing it right. So uh great time. And uh so we just kind of wanted to take a second and see what how you felt about how things went. Do you feel like the spirit moved? And how you what your thoughts were of the day. Oh, it was awesome.

It was different than I thought it was gonna be. Um, there were some guys here, and it really kind of amazed me how many people were here that I knew that I didn't know would be here or didn't probably thought they would be here. So, you know, I don't really know how um my story affected their life, but uh one guy didn't come up on the board before he left and said he was meant to be here today, you know, and I called him to be here because I didn't know why, but he goes, Thank you for your testimony. I said, Okay, you know, but um I think it was awesome. I think the conference bold and the brave, I just I'm glad to be a part of it. I was glad I was invited to be here. Um I'm honored to be here and to tell my story. And uh I thought it was awesome. I thought it was great. Oh, yeah, people that do the food awesome. And my cousin Andrew wanted to thank him for following the lead of the Holy Spirit and putting this on because the world needs to see men, strong men, strong believers in Christ. And I just I'm thankful that I was able to be here today.

Well, we I know we really appreciate it. We're sitting there listening to you, and we appreciate Andrew Telementis and everything he's done, and from the time we've met him till now, and he's uh supported our ministry, we want to support his ministry, and we think the idea of the bold and the brave is amazing, and the idea of men coming together, not to take away from women, but for a lot of years I think in the US, men let the women run things and do things. And not that they can't, but there's just something about us stepping into that role of leader and and move. Yeah, exactly.

The Bible says that we're to be leaders. So for too long not every man, but for too long, we've just sat by and allowed things to happen. And it's time for us to be bold and to be brave and to be courageous and to step up and lead our families and lead and minister. And uh like I said, I I'm excited about the future. I don't know what it holds, I don't know what kind of a part I'll be of it. I don't think so, and I know I will be a part of the boiler bread.

Fantastic. That's fantastic. So, as I was telling you, our tagline is telling his story through your story. We believe that the best way to share the gospel is not to preach at people, but to share how God has worked and changed in our lives. You can debate the Bible all day long, but you can't debate I was this way, I met Jesus, and now I'm this way. And that's what we saw was a man that said, I was this way, I had an encounter with Jesus, and now I'm this way. So you lived out exactly what our tagline is. And I appreciate so much for being willing to share and be vulnerable up there, and then being able to sit down here with us today. So and uh look forward to uh we're all in the same circles, right, with Andrew and and all the ministries and stuff. And so hopefully we see you again and maybe even get a chance to put in studio to share that whole whole story and get some time. Well, I tell you, it was amazing. The Holy Spirit was moving. I mean, there were powerful testimonies that really touched my heart, you know, and uh I felt the spirit moving, and it was it was just amazing. Just hearing how God is working in men's life, it's just moving in in everyone's life, really. But when you get men together, like we said earlier, something powerful happens, you know. And uh God was glorified today, amen. And uh people were touched, people were blessed because the testimonies we heard today were powerful. Yeah, that our God is always with us, he's still the same God he was then, now, and forever. Yep. And uh He's uh God of miracles, absolutely, man.

And we heard about some today. So real, real miracles. Yes, we did. So thank you for having the the heart and the vision to do this. Uh so brave and bold, it doesn't end here, right?

We started in January. Yes. You had it had a good good good uh revival.

Now, what's this May? We had another revival. Where is Brave and Bold going from here? If you want to share.

Oh, yeah, I'd like to share. So we plan on having another one in September. So we're gonna we're gonna go ahead and we're working on the plans for that. And uh, this is just the beginning, you know? We're just here to give our testimonies and advance the kingdom of God. And I just love how God has strategically placed the people in my life and just working through all, man, just to work together to make this possible. It's like when you're obedient to the Lord, he blesses you, he loves us. This is just the beginning, so we'll have more to come.

Oh, yeah. You get some really good depth, uh quick testimonies that a lot of medical stuff and miracles, medical and miracles, yeah.

But uh and we learned how to do this mobile. Yeah, but we'll get and we'll we'll get better as we learn software and programs and how to use our cameras. We will get better at this. But uh, we just want to take a minute here at the end of the day and thank Andrew Telementez and Sunrise Church so much for allowing Battleground believers to be a part of this, all the guests that we had that that came over and took the moment to sit with us. Surprisingly, a lot of people didn't want to sit in front of that camera.

Oh, I think some of it is. Like I said, once there's a camera there, they get scared, they get nervous a little bit.

Yeah, and and totally respectable, totally understand that. And uh uh just I was surprised because I'm uh I'm a camera guy, like if I if they're taking pictures I want to be in and I'm trying to photobomb people, then I I I don't think that other people are different than we are. So um, but really, really good time this time, and it looks like they're gonna have another one, and uh, pretty sure we're gonna be invited back. We're gonna continue to promote.

Yeah, and and it was so nice today. Like we we ran into um uh Tyrell, which is it's like seeing family again, you know what I mean? Like a little family reunion, and and several other brothers that were out there today that we got to see and and shake hands with and spend time with. And uh Darren, who was on the podcast, we sat with Darren and uh got to spend time with him, and uh it was so nice seeing him. But uh we're gonna go ahead and kind of wind this this episode down. And um again, thank you to Sunrise, yep, uh Sunrise Church and Andrew Talamentez and the Brave and the Bold. It seems to be a whole ministry of guys that uh we didn't really name them because we don't really know who's all involved in it. But as the brave and the bold get uh bigger, um we'll kind of continue to to keep you informed on that. You got any last last words?
