UFC Conor McGregor v Max Holloway quick breakdown by pro fighter D Hamaguchi
Connor McGregor versus Max Holloway. As much as I am rooting for Max because I really like him, I like his fighting spirit, I like I think he's great technically. I have to admit that as far as betting goes, I would put my money on Connor McGregor if I bet money. I don't gamble. But here's why I bet on Connor. First, it was Connor that chose Max, not vice versa. Of course, any fighter who gets offered a fight versus Connor McGregor is gonna accept it. Connor knows that, Max knows that. As Connor says, it's your red panty night because you know you're gonna make a lot of money. But the biggest factor is that Connor basically made Max come up from 155 to 170, and size matters. That's perhaps the biggest percentage jump in all the weight divisions, because 15 pounds from 155 up to 170 versus 10 pounds from 145 to 155. It's really not the absolute weight, meaning the 10 pounds versus the 15 pounds, it's the percentage of that weight. Now, on top of that, because Connor's been out for five years, he's had time to grow into that 170-pound weight division. I bet he was probably up to over 190 at one point. And so he's now been able to cut back down to 170. Whereas Max in this last camp simply, I mean, he might have put on a little bit of muscle, but one training camp did not really enough time to do that. On the other hand, I think what Max Holloway did to make 170s, he simply doesn't have to cut weight. But it really takes years to uh transform your body in terms of body composition and putting on quality muscle mass. So that's the first reason Connor chose Max. He's a smaller guy. Second reason is that Max is a striker. And we know Connor fancies himself also a striker. He loves to engage, he's very clever on the feet, loves to set folks up for a counter. And he knows that Max's fighting style and spirit is that Max comes to fight. He does not come to run around the ring and try to look cute. So that plays into uh Connor's not only fighting style, but uh fight game tactics as well. Set somebody up and counter them. A third reason that Connor chose Max is because let's face it, Max is a likable fighter. He does have a following, he's a well-known UFC fighter, he's been the MF champion, he has that very memeable KO versus Justin Gagey. And so he has a certain amount of uh eyeballs already on him, and Connor knows that's only gonna serve both of their pocketbooks well. Now, finally, as as much as Connor McGregor loves to get a spectacular one-punch counter KO on the feet, I would not be shocked if things got switched up and Connor wound up trying to take Max to the ground and then just dominated him on the ground. That would not be what anybody expects from McGregor, so I'm guessing that might have been something they game plan for as a plan B option. Now, as far as the outcome is concerned, I believe if Max is going to win, he has to do it via KO stoppage or submission. His best bet is probably a TKO stoppage on the feet. For Connor, I think he's looking for that spectacular one punch counter KO, but if he doesn't feel he can get that, it would not shock me if Connor then decided to just try to win on points on the feet. Or so who do you guys have winning this fight? Connor versus Max? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thanks.
