Tim Zoo recently defeated Errol Spence in a very decisive 12-round affair where it was clear that Tim won at least nine, if not ten, out of twelve rounds. And Spence had, I would say, such a mediocre showing, both physically and mentally, that he announced his retirement after the fight. Now, I did do a much more in-depth breakdown about why I truly believed that Errol Spence had already decided that this was going to be his last fight before he even stepped in the ring. So you can check out that video. However, I wanted to break down the business aspect of what's going on here because it's not so much the fact that Tim Zoo retired Errol Spence, and it's not even so much the fact that Tim Zoo won a 12-rounder versus a some people would say a legendary fighter. The real point of this whole fight is for you to follow the bouncing ball, meaning follow where the title belt is going, is has gone and where it's going to go. Because that is what's driving these matchups. Not what's going to be the best fight. It's all about the belt, which is really meaning it's all about passing the money along. So if you look back in time, Tim has it was used before because he held that WBO belt at 154. He was not signed to be PBC at that time. Keith Thurman was signed to PBC at that time. In their very first broadcast with Amazon Prime, PBC makes this ridiculous matchup between Keith Thurman, who's never fought at 154, against a world champion, Tim Zhu, with a WBO belt, for a 12-round non-title affair in their first broadcast with Amazon Prime, which made absolutely zero sense when it was announced, and I called that. So then, of course, lo and behold, surprise, three days before Keith Thurman suddenly has a bicep injury and pulls out of the fight. And then very conveniently, not only do the commission, that means the local state governing body for boxing, the Nevada State Athletic Commission, not only do they approve, but also the WBC approves Sebastian Fandora as a last-minute replacement to fight for that title, a WBC title at 154. And they put the squeeze play on Tim Zoo. It's like three days' notice, it's pretty hard to switch from training for a short orthodox fighter. That's Keith Thurman. And now suddenly you're on three days' notice, Tim Zoo has to figure out how to fight a freakishly tall Southpaw in Sebastian Fandora. I mean, it's a complete setup, right? Now, of course, Sebastian Fandora was already in shape because he was scheduled to fight somebody else on that undercard. So I think he and his team knew all along that this switch out was gonna happen. So I'm they they trained to fight Tim Zoo. They didn't train to fight this other person. Fast forward, Tim Zoo now is now signed to PBC, but they're not using it so much to try to create him into a champion. They're using him as this more valuable chess piece to pass along to somebody else to become the king. So now that Tim Zoo has decided to move up to 160, the PBC can use him as this chess piece to justify fighting for a world title, which he will be set up to lose again. So, okay, so why do they match him up with Errol Spence? Well, I think the PBC and Team Spence knew that this was his sort of retirement package, if you will, like a good final payday, you know, the golden handshake at your retirement announcement. So by feeding a slightly long of tooth Errol Spence to Tim Zoo, the everybody wins, right? Errol Spence gets one final big tape payday. He gets a little time in the limelight as the main event. Tim Zoo elevates his resume because he defeated Errol Spence quite handily. And now here's where the key thing is Tim Zoo is now rated number one by the WBO. And this is critical because the PBC knows full well that at the moment the WBO doesn't have a champion because Janny Beck tested positive. So he lost the belt by sticking needles in his arm and then having other people stick needles in his arm to draw blood, I suppose. Actually, I don't know if Janny Beck tested positive for PEDs because he did it through his through syringes or through pills or what he did. Maybe he rubbed on the clear and the cream. I d I don't know. But in any case, Janny Beck was stripped of the of the title, the WBO title. I think he was stripped of another title as well. So if the PBC can elevate Tim Zoo, which they did, WBO now ranks him number one, they can now maneuver Tim into a title fight versus somebody else that they really want to win that belt. Because unfortunately for Tim, it doesn't seem to be his luck in that sense. He seems to be the setup guy and not the champ. I'm wondering if the PBC is going to try to set up Tim Zoo versus Jamal Charlo for that 160-pound WBL belt. You know, last minute Charlo suddenly couldn't get a visa, which I again called BS on because any lawyer worth their merit knows how to secure a temporary visa for an American going to Australia. The main thing is you have to file for the right type of paperwork. You are going to be making money, then you have to, you can't just go over there on a tourist visa, of course, but that's why the PBC and other boxing managers keep attorneys on retainer. It's just they are specialists in immigration law and they know how to get visas, work visas overseas, not only for the A-side fighter, but also they know how to secure visas to bring in the B side opponent from somewhere else. So unless Charlo has some felony arrest or that he didn't disclose to PBC and his management, again, which I would say that's BS because the PBC is so huge that they should do their dil due diligence on their fighters. And even if the fighters are not going to tell them, yeah, you know, there's a warrant out for my arrest in whatever state. I mean, PBCs should be on top of things. They should look into the legal status of all their fighters because getting visas overseas is going to be an issue if somebody has something on their record. So my guess is that PBC just said, hey, told Charlo, hey, just just chill, you know, don't put yourself through this fight. Maybe they want to match him up. They said they want to match him up as soon as possible. So that means to me, what that translation is, yeah, we pulled Charlo out of that fight because we got something else to feed to him. That's a better deal. And that's it's gonna happen sooner than we thought it was. So they throw Charlo, I guess, a warm-up fight, and then I think maybe they're gonna try to have Charlo fight Tim Zoo for a world title. And their idea is that Tim will lose. I mean, but you know, Tim has a fighter's chance, as they say. I just think that even though he is signed to PBC, he's signed to PBC so they can use him as not a stepping stone. They're using him as a valid B-sider to make a money fight, a title fight, versus whoever it is they want to elevate. In this case, I'm guessing it's Charlo, mainly because if you look at the 160-pound roster that the PBC has, Charlo's the only one that kind of stands out to me. The other uh 160-pounders that the PBC has are Jason Rosario, Arizon D. Lara, who's a little bit past his prime, Julian Williams, also a little bit past his prime, Jose Benavidez Jr., and I I apologize if I'm leaving anybody else out. But the pattern there is that all those fighters I just mentioned, they were up and coming at one point, and then they suffered sort of revealing losses. Out of all the 160 pounders that the PBC currently has signed to them, only Jamal Charlo is still undefeated. So this is you know a critical moment at the 160-pound division because Janny Beck tested positive. So nobody had to fight him in order for that belt to become vacant. It it just got vacated because he messed up and made some bad choices and got caught. So the question is who do you guys think the PBC will set up to fight for the 160-pound title? My guess is Jamal Charlot versus Tim Zoo. But let me know what you think in the comments and in the fan mail. Thank you so much for listening. USC fight night takes place in Belgrade, Serbia. Now, it's gonna start streaming at 6 a.m. Pacific time, so I can't I do not think I'm gonna be able to do a live for that, but I will do at least a post-fight breakdown. I am interested in the main event. It's the American Daniel Rodriguez versus the Serbian Uros Medic. Sorry if I mispronounced your name. Now, Medic is is a Serbian native, so he's fighting on his home soil. And the human interest piece with Daniel Rodriguez is that he was in jail for eight months in Tijuana, Mexico, because he got caught in possession of marijuana. The problem for Americans who live in California is that because it's legal here in Cali, a lot of people just out of habit have some marijuana on them, and they just go across the border for a quick night of fun and they forget, you know, they got it in their pocket or their backpack, and apparently that's what happened to Rodriguez. So unfortunately, he paid a very severe price for that. I apologize for all the screaming in the background, but it's summer and there's lots of screaming kids all over the place. Daniel Rodriguez has done a couple of really in-depth podcasts, I think with Joe Rogan and Dominic Cruz, in which he describes his experience in that jail in Tijuana. Uh, he really goes into depth with Joe Rogan. So if that interests you, I thought that was a really great podcast. So definitely give that a listen a lesson. A listen. So both Rodriguez and Medic are strikers. Let me know who you think is gonna win this UFC fight night in Serbia. I look forward to reading your comments and your fan mail. Thank you so much.
