Moses Italm versus Philip Bergman. This fight takes place towards the end of August of this year. And this is a heavyweight fight. I was a little surprised to learn that Philip Perkovich is by far the betting favorite at this point. I thought that the the the odds would give Moses a little bit more of an advantage. However, overall I do tend to agree that I I think that Purgovic has a good chance of coming out ahead on this matchup. The main reason that I think Pergovich will come out ahead of Ichalma is the experience factor on more than one level. I would say that Pergovich has the experience advantage in the amateur boxing arena, the professional boxing arena, and in his corner. Let's start with the amateur arena. Yes, I know this is a professional boxing fight. But pro fighters established their foundation during their amateur career. Yes, Philip Pergovic is 32 or 33 years old, and uh Moses Italma is only 21, but that's the point. Philip fought in the senior men's division and won a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games. Moses Italma only ever fought amateur as a youth. He never fought in the full-grown men's division, and that's a huge difference. Because Moses Italma competed at the elite level as an adult man at the highest of elite levels, you know, at the Olympics where he got a medal. That means Philip Hergovich had a chance to truly develop elite level uh technical skills. But even more importantly, Hergovic had to develop uh his mental strength as well. He had to deal with the fact that there's politics in sport because it's it's not it wasn't just a uh shoe and for him even to make his national team to be selected to go to the Olympics. There's always a ton of politics involved when it comes to the Olympic team selection. In order to make the Olympic team work for Asia positive, Kirkovic had to compete internationally. He didn't have it, it wasn't enough for him to just win his national. He also had to do well on the international scene. That means he became a seasoned elite-level adult competitor. Elite athletes have to deal with the stress of traveling, the stress of figuring out how to handle their nutrition in a foreign country with different food while they're still trying to make weight. Uh that you learn how to be adaptable and flexible and solve problems in live time when you're in very unfamiliar circumstances. I don't know anything about Herkovich's amateur career, but I can pretty much guarantee that straight-line trajectory to the top where he meddled at the Olympics. I'm quite sure that Philip Herkovich had to deal with more than one set of adversities that he had to figure out how to overcome on his way to becoming an Olympian and then on his way to meddling at the Olympic Game. My point here is really that Philip Herkovich put himself through all this, whereas Moses and Talma did not. Moses chose to compete as a youth. Yes, Moses was probably very well developed as a teenager, probably already had an adult male physique at that time, but he didn't deal with other adult males on the mental level as an elite level athlete. That's a whole different level of competition. And again, I'm emphasizing that it's not just the physical skill set, it's a mental skill set when you're dealing with world-class elite combat sport athletes. So, in terms of experience, having your brain be used to overcoming difficulties in lifetime, well, Philip Hergovic most definitely has that advantage. Now let's compare Hergovic and Italma in the professional rankings. Well, Italma is 14-0 with 12 KOs, and Hergovic is 20 and 1 with 15 KOs. But we do need to dive a little bit deeper than just the record to truly understand the difference in their professional boxing experience. Let's look at total number of rounds five. Now, yes, Moses Itama is undefeated as a pro, but he's only competed in a total of 31 rounds as a pro. Philip Hergovic has 105 rounds in the pro rap rankings. In other words, a little bit over three times as much time in the squared circle. Now, furthermore, Italma and Hergovic are vying for the IBF World Heavyweight Belt. So that is, of course, 12 rounds in duration. Now Hergovich has actually fought several 12 rounders, most memory, most memorably against Jean Gillet and Dempsey McKeen. So Hergovich has gone a full 12 rounds twice. Hergovich has also competed more than a few 10-round fights. Now, on the other hand, Moses Italma has only gone as long as six rounds. He has done that twice. In other words, Moses Itama has no idea what it feels like to go past six rounds. So, in a sense, the the reason why everybody's taken note of Moses Itama, you know, because of his explosive technical boxing that gets his opponents out of there in a first round, that's a plus and a minus. I mean, it's a plus because he's a he makes him a very exciting heavyweight fighter. But the downside to that is a lot of his fights have ended early in the first or second round. So he simply doesn't have that ring experience of going the full 10 to 12 round distance. Moses does not know how his body will feel past six rounds. He doesn't know how his mind will react once he gets extended past that six-round duration. So that's why I give Philip Fergovich the advantage in the pro ranking experience. So those are my three reasons why I give Philip Fergovich the advantage in this matchup with Moses I Tauma. It's due to his higher level, longer experience as an amateur. It's also he has more and deeper experience as a professional fighter, and his cornerman has longer and deeper experience than Moses I Tauma's cornerman. Abel Sanchez has more experience than Ben Davidson. So that's my quick breakdown of this fight, which didn't even delve into any of the technical aspects, but I do look forward to doing a more extensive technical breakdown of this matchup between Moses and Philip Herkovich.
