Team 18 enter the Leaf Village and begin to investigate the Silver Steep Parlor. On the surface everything seems perfect... too perfect. Hiraya is reunited with some old friends.

You guys arrived to the gates of the Leaf the next morning or the next afternoon. And uh Korokite and Team 4 were checking in with one of the guards. There was a whole four-man team, a guard with a guard dog, and Haraiah had dropped to the back of the caravan.

But you guys pass through the village gates. Now all these people are just set up. I'm going to get rid of them. So Team 4 begins following with the caravan. They're headed towards like the market area of the Leaf Village. You know, the caravan's gonna set up, sell their stuff before they head back out. You guys know that Team Four is gonna head back with the caravan to escort them back to the mist. You know that the uh shinobi cats are going to stay with you. They still have their headbands on right now, importantly. But you guys come through, and it gets to a point where it's just Team 18 and the cats, and I feel like I actually feel like maybe shortly before uh getting into the gates, they do take off their headbands. I was gonna say maybe they do a little gig and bury.

The trees are billowing, the leaves are flowing through. It's beautiful. It's midsummer, the stone faces are shining in the summer sun. It's just it's lively. It's one of the biggest villages, you know, in the world. So it is thriving. And yeah, you guys come across one of the first things you guys see is this little board of like flyers, like for tourist information. Stuff like that.

And there's also lots of like silver adornments to it. You know, the color palette is very wood, glass, silver. Kind of more of a modern place. But looking from the outside, you're not seeing immediately anything that's setting off alarm bells of criminal organizations. It looks very legit. It doesn't look like a crappy shell company that's not doing a very good job of hiding and money laundering. Yeah, well, welcome to the laundry mat.

So when you walk through, usually you can see, you know, a little bit of underground, also just like rocks and stuff. For some reason you cannot see underneath the flooring of the building. It could just be super thick concrete or whatever, but usually you would see like a little bit of that. You don't see it. It's like your vision like hits the floor and it's blank. Blank.

It's like completely walled off, and and tell them exactly what you said. That's that's really abnormal when I look at the flooring of buildings. So I'm gonna tell them if there is abnormal if there's abnormal activity, I think we should look for a basement. Or at least floor floorboards. Okay.

The investigation of the Silversteep parlor was on her mind, however, there was another pressing matter she couldn't stop thinking about. A competition with her former teammate Korokite Uzumaki that was just recently tied in the Forest of Fire the day prior. She walks with purpose towards the market street in the Leaf Village. It's not long before Korokite locks eyes with her from a table nearby. A glint of light shines off of his brass goggles. I knew you'd come find me, he says. Well, I just can't let the events of yesterday stand. I've had the lead in our little competition for years, and I blinked, and now it's tied 29-29. Sekuma slams her elbow down on the market side table, outstretching it towards him. I was just telling Percy earlier that you used to get like this on missions where we had to stay up, especially on stakeouts. Just remember, the loser pays for a busted table. Kurokite accepts the challenge, and the two clasp hands. Oh yeah? There's an inn in the hidden waterfall village that would love to hear that. A struggle ensues. The table creaks and buckles under the pressure. A quick start from Sekima has Korokite's wrist approaching the table.

Krookite steadfastly grabs the table with his other hand and begins to turn the tide. A small bowl of olives is knocked over in the motion, catching the eyes of a crowd beginning to form and gather. Sekima's playful competitiveness ends abruptly as she realizes she is failing to stop Korokite's momentum. She contemplates her next move quickly, muttering, FIRST gate under her breath. In a swift move, she levels the playing field almost too swiftly. She begins to pull back her strength and feign a struggle. Korokite can hardly believe his eyes, one eyebrow raised at the thought that she might use one of the eight gates to help her win. But no. He reassures himself, thinking she wouldn't stoop that low. I mean, she's always been stronger than him. A crack emerges on the table under Korokite's hand. Sekima, careful enough not to display a power greater than your average village brute.
