Episode 028 — Overcoming Karma with Susan Reynolds
When life keeps looping you back into the same patterns—relationships, money, confidence, or self-worth—it can start to feel like you’re living the same lesson on repeat. In this episode of Overcoming Anything, host Anne Vryonides sits down with Susan Reynolds to explore karma through a practical, empowering lens—and how awareness, choice, and spiritual tools can help you break the cycle and create a new path forward.
Susan Reynolds has been an astrologer, spiritual healer, and spiritual teacher for the last 40 years, serving national and international clients with a one-of-a-kind approach that blends astrology with psychic insight. She’s been featured on WCCB News, hosted her own radio show, and is a founding member and past president of The Council of Esoteric Professionals.
Key Takeaways
• Karma isn’t punishment—it’s pattern: awareness is the first step to changing what repeats
• The mystical and practical work best together: insight without action keeps the loop going
• You can rewrite your future by making different choices in the exact moments you’d normally default to the old pattern

Is this just going to be a very powerful show? I know it. I'm so excited. Joining me today is Susan Reynolds talking about overcoming Karma. Welcome to the show. So nice to have you.
Speaker 2Hi Anne, it's nice to be here. Thanks for inviting me. Karma's a topic we all deal with, whether we deal with it consciously or unconsciously, so it affects everybody on this planet right now.
SpeakerI agree. I, can't wait to hear more. So before we dive in, I always love to ask, what's one quote or mantra that keeps you going during tough times?
Speaker 2Oh, wow. That's a nice question. I don't know that I ever consciously thought about that. I just turn to my guides. I don't know if that's a mantra, but it's like whatever I'm going through, I know I'm not going through it alone. Yes. So that gives me a lot of support, a lot of awareness. There's a team, we are going through it now, so one step in front of the other, you get to the other side.
SpeakerYes. I love that paradigm shift that we are never alone. And I think that so many times people forget that they're just like overwhelmed with their problems and they can't see their way through, and they're like, no one understands, no one's there for me. I'm all alone. But that's so reassuring to just remember that you have a team. They may not be physically in front of you, but you have the love and support that you need, so
Speaker 2Absolutely.
SpeakerExcellent. All right, so let's start at the beginning. So what is the most difficult thing that you've ever had to overcome in your life?
Speaker 2Well, a lot. A lot of it's personal, which I won't go well, all Karma is personal. But there's a lot of a lot of things that I've had to deal with that we've all had to deal with our stuff. But I will say. One of the most difficult for me was many years ago when my spiritual teacher was murdered, and that was incredibly difficult, incredibly painful, shocking, and I had to call upon that, which he had taught me. I had to find a way to forgive his murder, and that was a lengthy process. I eventually got there, but. We are called upon not just to learn about spiritual principles, but to apply them in our life, to use them, to move past something, and to not get mired down in something that could derail the focus of our life. That was extremely challenging for me and the people who loved him. But yes I used what he had taught me to help get past that.
SpeakerYikes. I can't even imagine how challenging and difficult that must have been for you. Like having learned all this wisdom from this person and, having a special relationship with'em because of, their teachings. Then to see and witness him getting taken out and transitioning. Wow. So how did you deal with that?
Speaker 2I went into my own time of prayer, meditation. I called to my guides. Help me understand this. Help me understand this. I don't understand it. I don't understand. When something shocking and violent and brutal happens in our life, we're, I think, bewildered. Why is this happening? Why are bad things happening to good people? Which is, I think, the question that humanity has asked ever since we've been on this planet. And so I started to, into meditations and I started to receive guidance from my guides and they caught the man that did it and he went on trial and I was at the trial every day. And there were several of us. There were a group of us who are good friends with him, who were all devastated by this, but couldn't take the time off or be there for the trial. My friend had to testify because she had discovered his body and traumatic time for everybody and. Every night I'd come home and I would get outta water glass and I would fill it with wine. Forget a wine glass
Speakertough times require,
Speaker 2Water goble, just, yeah. And I said, that didn't turn me into an alcoholic. Nothing would, because then all the friends would start calling me, what happens at the trial today? And so you're reliving everything. So it was, emotionally brutal. But you don't give up. You don't walk away. You don't say, oh, I believe all these wonderful things and something bad happened and now my beliefs mean nothing. When the tough times come and they come for all of us. That's when you are asked to live your beliefs. That's when you're asked to dig down and say, oh, this is more than books or talks or writing on paper. I'm being asked to live that, which I profess to believe. And that's challenging. That is difficult many times.
SpeakerAbsolutely. So was this a random act of violence or was this like
Speaker 2intentional? Yes. No. He had opened up his home to somebody in need at Christmas time. The person was robbing him. My teacher discovered him. There was a struggle. He, he killed him.
SpeakerOh my gosh. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Speaker 2It's been many years and I still pray for my teacher on the other side because just because somebody has left their body. It doesn't mean their spirit is dead. Clearly energy doesn't die. It just transforms. And so as I've gotten older, because I'm in my seventies now, the list of the people on the other side keeps getting and longer of the people that I am praying for, that I surround them with light. I ask for the divine to bless them and lift them up. And don't think that you can't work on karma or healing karma with someone, even though. We didn't have issues to work out, but let's say that a parent, a friend, a spouse, somebody that's hurt you and they've passed, you can still work on that karma. You can still heal that issue. The issue is not finished just because your physical body is no longer here.
SpeakerLet's dive deeper on that. So tell me more. How do you work on karma when someone has passed?
Speaker 2First of all, let me back up a little bit and explain something about karma, because most people tend to look at karma as some kind of punishment. Oh, it's my karma that my mother-in-law hates me or that I can't ever, find the right spouse or, we tend to think of karma in negative terms.
SpeakerYes.
Speaker 2But it, that's not it at all because karma is just the results of all that you've said. Done experience felt put out into the world good and not so good. So think about the areas of your life that are working well. Are you healthy? Are you in a happy marriage? Do you like your job? Do you have a few bucks in the bank? These are all examples of positive karma. If your life is working at least partially, you've got some good karma built up there.
SpeakerYeah. And if not, it's coming soon. It'll go be on its way.
Speaker 2There you go. So these are my beliefs. These are strictly the world according to Susan, that we as souls. Choose to come into a life. We create a life a outline of a life of what we wanna work on. What does our soul need to work on to move forward spiritually to lift up into high vibration? Sometimes that's patience. Sometimes that's how I need to work out this issue with my brother or my sister, or whatever it is. But we choose that on the other side. Then when we are born, that veil comes down. We're not aware that we chose to have a difficult relationship with our siblings so that we could work it out.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2So if you want to know where your karma lies first, look at your family members, your family of origin, your parents, your siblings, the people who are around you, your grandparents maybe helped raise you. Look at those people because usually karma starts out close to home. Then as you get older. You got into the world, I would say start to look at the patterns in your life that show up consistently. How come you always get the bad boss that hates you? Or how come you always get a spouse or boyfriend, girlfriend that's cheating on you? How come it seems like you know you can't ever find the right place to live? Or you keep having financial disasters? Those are karmic patterns. And they don't stop until we address them, until we look at them. But we have to look at them in a different way. Because when we're dealing with a pattern that we don't like or is troubling to us, we tend to see ourself as the victim. Yeah. Oh, I always get a boss that hates me. I'm doing a great job and she still won't promote me or he still won't promote me. And that's true. We are being victimized in a certain way of, we've got the boyfriend girlfriend that cheated, we're the victim. But you have to turn it around to look at healing, that if we get caught up in the victim hood, we never grow past that karmic pattern. We never heal it. It just keeps showing up over and over it in our lives, hitting us in the head. So you have to turn it around. Most of the people that we are dealing with in stressful or challenging situations, think of that person as a mirror. They are mirroring to you what you once did from past lifetimes. Yes. Maybe you cheated on a spouse in another lifetime. I know. We don't wanna ever think that we ever did anything wrong in other lifetimes. We wanna think we were all,
Speakerperfect
Speaker 2angels. Peace on earth. Yeah. God forbid we would ever do anything wrong. That's right. We did. We all make mistakes. So let's say you're married, you've got a good marriage, you've got horrible mother-in-law. She just hates you and is always mean to you, and always telling your husband how bad you are for them or whatever. And you're like, what do I do to heal this situation with this crazy woman? So you realize, or maybe you have a meditation or a dream where it's shown to you that in another lifetime you stole her husband.
SpeakerAnd
Speaker 2in this lifetime, that husband is her son, your husband. So she can feel very threatened by you. She can feel like you're taking him away again and she can lash out or act down. So now you understand why your mother-in-law doesn't like you, even though, I mean nothing in this lifetime that you're like, I'm always nice to her, kind of thing.
SpeakerRight. That makes sense.
Speaker 2Understanding the situation helps us. Maybe you're a little more patient with her, maybe you don't take it as personally. It helps us understand instead of feeling like the victim, but it doesn't automatically heal the situation. Your mother-in-law may still be a witch because she doesn't know. She just knows she doesn't like you, right? It doesn't make the karma go away. But it does lift up some of that unfairness or victimhood because when we can see it from a higher level, we can act from a higher level.
SpeakerAnd it's not like you could tell her because if she doesn't have the consciousness to see how she's acting and behaving in order to heal it, then for you to go and say, oh hey, you're just mad at me. Because, I murdered your husband or stole your husband in a past lifetime, she obviously won't have the consciousness to wrap around that. So that can be quite challenging. So any tips in that situation for
Speaker 2Yeah.
SpeakerHandling?
Speaker 2One of the things I do when I'm in a situation like that is that I'll get quiet, I'll get into a very peaceful time, and I will out loud. I'll say, I am talking about, I don't know, Sally's higher self. I'm addressing Sally's higher self, and I am saying, I am sorry for stealing your husband in that lifetime. I ask that you'll forgive me. I made a mistake. You're going past the level of dislike or I don't like that person. You're going to a higher level. You're addressing it from a more spiritual way. And that's the thing about karma. It heals. It lightens it. We overcome maybe with self-awareness and taking responsibility when we feel like the victim, we don't wanna take responsibility. They were mean to us. I didn't do anything, we don't wanna have to look at that. Yeah. So when we can look at that. When we can start looking at what is my responsibility in this issue, we start to lift our whole life, all of our interactions with everybody up to a higher level. Years ago. When I was doing readings in Atlanta, I had a woman call up for a reading and we booked her reading. I told her how much I charged, and this was years ago. I charged$90 an hour. I told her something came up at her end and she had to keep rescheduling this reading. So the reading was scheduled for three months after. We had originally scheduled it, Uhhuh. So she comes in, I'm doing the reading, I do her hour and I'm like, we're at an hour and I can stop. She says, no, keep going. I love this. You know, keep, so I do a second hour and she wants me to keep going. I ended up reading for this woman for three hours.
SpeakerWow. How exhausting.
Speaker 2And she really enjoyed her reading and I was glad I could do it for her. And so she's leaving and I said, that'll be$270. It was$90 an hour for three hours, and she was furious. She said no, you said it was$90 and I said an hour. I'm like, oh, now I get why she wanted me to keep talking. She thought this was all included in the$90. So she was furious at me. She felt like I was trying to gyp her out of$180, but it was a miscommunication. So I had to look at that instead of saying, what a cheap woman, and she doesn't wanna pay me and I worked my ass off, and how dare she, take advantage of me like that. What's my responsibility here? And I had to say, you know what, it's been three months. I should have reiterated the payments. And when I paused at that hour, I should have said it'll be more money going forward. I had to stop and look at what have I done or said to create this situation. Could I've done something differently? When we start to look at what's our input, what's our buy-in into this situation, what do we say or not say, do or not do to contribute to this? And sometimes the answer is nothing. Sometimes it's zero. But most of the time there's a little something we need to own. And when we start looking at our life like that, you have moved to a higher level spiritually. You are not looking at yourself as being a victim. You're looking at yourself as being a co-creator. Even if you're accidentally creating things you don't like, once you're a co-creator, you can start to create the things you do like in your life. So looking within, being honest with yourself, owning up when something's your fault, even though we don't wanna say it, and taking responsibility, that is a big shift in leaving negative karma behind and in meeting karma in an easier way.
SpeakerWisdom. We
Speaker 2can meet karma through getting hit in the head with a two by four, or we can meet Karma with that awareness coming to us and say, oh, I probably shouldn't do that.
SpeakerSo if someone is coming into this lifetime with, let's say, past Life Karma coming in, is there any suggestions for people to really kind of. Have a way to look at what Karma came in with them and how they might be able to start healing that for themselves.
Speaker 2Funny you should say that because that's exactly the kind of astrology I do. I do. I'm a astrology,
Speakerright.
Speaker 2I'll say years ago when I first started, I think this is like my dipped client or something, I was going into a time of prayer meditation, like I do before every reading, and I spontaneously had a vision, which I'd never had before, and I saw this woman who I'd never met before. She was a brand new client. I saw her in another lifetime. She was an Irish woman living in Ireland with her husband, was a farmer and I, in eight or nine kids what we'd consider a lot of children,
Speakerright?
Speaker 2And she was cooking and cleaning and taking care of her kids and, trying to give them a better life and get them an education and then she died I don't know, in her early fifties or late forties or something. And then the vision just went away. And I said, oh my God, I can't tell this woman this. I've never met her. I don't know if she even believes in past lives. It may be all she can do to come for an astrology meeting, and I'm gonna throw this. I had a vision step at her. I didn't know what to do. Yeah. And I went back and forth. Do I tell her, do I not tell her? So finally. I said I'm gonna tell her, but I'm gonna tell her first at the beginning of the reading. And if she's upset, she could just leave. She doesn't have to pay me any money. It'll just be done. So she sits down. Lovely young woman. Very professional, very professionally dressed. And I tell her this vision, which was a little embarrassing to me because if I'm gonna see a vision of a pants life, I wanted something exciting. You are a warrior and in this big battle, you sail the seventh seas, you were queen of something. No, I get your housewife had an ordinary life and died.
SpeakerYou
Speaker 2know, so I'm yelling at my guides a little bit. Really? There's nothing else. It's a little more exciting, no, that was it. So I tell this woman what I saw.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2She burst into tears. She said, oh my God, that explains my whole life.
SpeakerWow.
Speaker 2It turns out she was born in Boston to an Irish Catholic family, large family. And the boys and girls were encouraged to get an education, but the girls went to college mostly to meet their spouse.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2And then they get married and they may get a job to help out the family here and there, but they were mostly housewives, which is nothing wrong with that, but that was the pattern in her family.
SpeakerRight.
Speaker 2And she said, Susan, I always knew I didn't want that. I wanted a career. And so she went to law school. She had a job at a very prestigious law firm, but she always felt guilty. Because she said I wasn't living the pattern that the rest of my family was living.
SpeakerWow.
Speaker 2And when you told me that, I understood why I didn't want that. I had that already been there, done that. So it was very healing for her. Just as I was telling her this, I could almost see this woman getting lighter and brighter, as she was talking about it. So I still get visions when I read somebody's chart and I still tell them what I saw. I say, I don't have any way of verifying this. It may be right. It may be wrong. Take it. Leave it. I just share what I see. So that's why I li I'm listed as a karmic astrologer. The whole purpose is to look at what did your soul come into work on and why did it come into work on that? Where have you been so you understand what you chose to work on and grow on in this lifetime. So certainly getting a reading with somebody who can do that. Is one of the ways to find that out. You could also look at getting a past life regression hypnosis. There's, LBL, which is Life Between Life Hypnosis Institute, I think. That's the Michael Newton Institute. He trains practitioners how to do that, how to take you through the process of going back. There's also, oh, what is it called? H. Q-Q-T-H-H-Q-T, something like that. Healing H quantum healing hypnosis technique is, I think QHHT, quantum healing, hypnosis technique. I got there. And they do the same thing. They take you back to the point of origin. Let's say you wanna stop smoking or you wanna work on your weight or where does that come from? And that sort of a session takes you back to the point of origin from another lifetime. Where you experience it. A friend of mine, I don't think she would mind me sharing this has struggled with her weight of being obese her entire life from a child in elementary school,
SpeakerUhhuh.
Speaker 2And when she had a past life reading with somebody years ago, they were telling her about a lifetime in which she starved to death.
SpeakerWow.
Speaker 2And now in this lifetime, her body is at war with her mind. Her body says, we have to survive. We have to hold on to all the nutrients we can. And her mind is but I live in a society that wants people to be thin. So there's sometimes this war going on within us to make peace.
SpeakerThat can be very enlightening. Didn't know that came from a past life because you can beat yourself up. That lady might be saying, oh, why do I not have the willpower? Why doesn't this ever work for me? I'm exercising so much and feeling so frustrated, not knowing that there's a strong tie to. To a past life. Wow. So going back, start, you started off the podcast with telling us the story about your spiritual advisor. So what did his, or how did his passing impact your understanding of karma? I
Speaker 2don't think it, it impacted it in any kind of negative way. What I was told in my meditations with my guides is this was his time.
SpeakerOkay.
Speaker 2To me, he was a young man. He was in his forties.
SpeakerWow.
Speaker 2If you're 20, that's old. If you're in your seventies, like me, that's young. So he was in his forties. So you think of that as a life cut short. But my guys were telling me in meditation, this was his time.
SpeakerHmm.
Speaker 2This was what he was supposed to do and he did his life's work and he went on and to me that's just a life fulfilled, whether that life is fulfilled in your forties or in your eighties or whatever it is, we never reach a point when we're done. Healing and growing and learning. Until we leave this life, until our body is no longer breathing, as long as we are breathing on this earth, we have an opportunity to heal, to grow, to overcome, if you will. It's not like we reach age 65 and we can go, okay, I'm done. I can coast from now on. No, it doesn't matter. What age you are. We are still going to be presented with opportunities to grow, but as we get older, as we mature, as we hopefully start to have a little more self-awareness, we can recognize those instances and start to deal with them from a higher level rather than from a level of pain.
SpeakerSo sometimes people who may not have this full understanding, they could be going through some challenges in their life and they can look at, let's say their friend or neighbor or family member, like why is life so easy for them? So what type of advice would you provide or insights from above for that person who is struggling with. You know the challenges that they agreed to before they came into this lifetime, knowing that the people around'em are just coasting. Things are going well and.
Speaker 2And I'm gonna say that's an illusion. The people around you are not having any kind of easier time than you are. Just because you don't know what's going on doesn't mean they're not dealing with things. Right. But we are always going to think that our life is more stressful, more difficult, more challenging because it's our pain, it's our challenges. Oh, she has all the money in the world. She's totally happy. She doesn't have to struggle like I do. She's got a spouse that's cheating on her. Or maybe she has a son that's splunking math for the third time and she doesn't know what she's gonna do and she's trying to help her special needs child and you don't always know what they're dealing with.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2It's easy to say, oh, they have it, so much easier than I do. No, they have it different than what you do. When we have something going on in our life and we are struggling with that, somebody has hurt us, our, our spouse has said something hurtful or done something hurtful. Or maybe there's a, a family situation with one or both of your parents that you say can't seem to get passed. Mm-hmm. We may be a grown adult, but those wounds from childhood just go along with us. One of the most powerful ways that you can heal karma is through forgiveness. People sometimes get angry at me when I tell them that, I, lots of my clients have been dealing with horrific childhoods, abuse and abandonment and real pain. And they're like, you mean you want that to be okay? You think what they did was fine? Like they get very agitated at me. No. It doesn't mean it's okay for people to hurt you or your mother abandoning you at five years old with spine or your dad being an alcoholic, or none of that is spine forgiveness, freeze the forgiver, and that's a mantra I would hope everybody remembers.
SpeakerYeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2You have found a way to forgive. You are no longer tied into the pain of that situation. You can look at that situation and go, you know what? She left and I'm at peace with that. And you are free when you can say, I have forgiven her and there's no more pain there for me. You are free from that situation. She may or may not be, but you are free. That's why forgiveness is important. It brings you peace, it brings you control. You can look at your next slide. Tell me like, you know what? I've already forgiven her. I don't have to deal with that situation again.
SpeakerAbsolutely we
Speaker 2are freeing ourselves. So think of somebody that hurt you, maybe a mother that left you when you started kindergarten, and switch it around. If that person is holding up a mirror to you ask, oh, is there a lifetime where maybe I left my family or I abandoned them, and maybe this is a way of me looking at that situation, realizing that kind of hurt. Karma is often about us understanding the pain we have may accidentally cause somebody else that old saying about walking somebody else's shoes for a mile,
Speakerright?
Speaker 2It's about having that level of understanding and so as we forgive them, we are forgiving ourselves or having done the same thing.
SpeakerSo true.
Speaker 2Sometimes the people that hurt us the most have volunteered. Out of love to take on this very difficult role in our lives, to allow us the opportunity to grow and to learn.
SpeakerWow. That's deep. That is deep, but changing. Wow. Welcome
Speaker 2to my world.
SpeakerSo what life lessons have you learned by becoming a karmic astrologer?
Speaker 2But what you were talking about before, when we tend to think everybody else's life is great. When I'm reading a chart, I'm looking at some very wealthy, dressed man who's successful and I'm looking at this, I'm like, oh my God this person's in so much pain. They have to go through so much. When we start to see and understand other people's journey, we become much less judgmental. We're much more tolerant, we're much more open. And being an astrologer has done that because I tend to look at people through the lens of their astrological sign, and usually every February I teach a beginning astrology class and I'll teach one in February 26th, and I was teaching one a few years ago. One of the women was a young woman, very attractive, and we were learning about the different signs. And she came into class one night and she was laughing. She said, I was on this date and we went to a concert and he was standing at this, I don't know, they're selling merchandise. And he couldn't decide what kind of t-shirt he wanted. And I was getting so impatient with him. And then I realized he's a Libra. Of course he can't make decisions quickly. And she tickles me.
SpeakerOh, that's funny.
Speaker 2cause she was applying this. To her life. My whole family are Taurus, and Taurus is stubborn, and so you can't ask them to change their minds on a dime. You have to give them a lot of lead time.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2So as an astrologer, understanding that maybe somebody's just being true to their sign, to what's in their chart really helps me be compassionate to them, understand and be more patient with them. When I do couples readings, I'll say. You know what? Her style communication may be X, Y, and Z, and he or she is yes, that's exactly what they do. Like you're seeing somebody else recognize it, it's not me. She says the same thing. And then I'll say, when he says this is what's going on. Oh, he does it all the time. So it's. It's a way of looking at people through a different lens.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 2cause oh, he's not leaving his shoes on the floor to annoy me. He's doing that because of something in his chart. He may be a little more messy or whatever, or she's not doing this to bother me. Astrology really gives us a way of understanding people and allowing more compassion and patience, which has been a blessing in my life. I absolutely love what I do. I give thanks to be able to be an astrologer. Literally almost every day.
SpeakerWow. It was funny when you were talking before, I was thinking to myself, I was like, they should make that a question on a job application. What is your astrological sign? Because that way you can really understand the people that you're working with. Your boss as well as, sometimes you know their birthdays, but to really understand like your teammates on a deep level would make a world of difference and help people get along better. So
Speaker 2one of my teachers before she retired was a school teacher, elementary school children, and. What she did is she did exactly that. She went through all the birthdays for her students and she realized like the majority of her class were water signs and earth signs, which is lovely. It's slow, it's emotional, it's easy flow. And she had a couple of students that were fire signs, which is high energy. I wanna go, I wanna do right? And there were annoying the other students. There was that little bit of, okay, this over here is not. Meshing as well as I would like. And so she arranged with another teacher from another classroom to trade off their water earth signs to her fire signs. And the classrooms both meshed more beautifully and more harmoniously. I don't think most teachers do that, but it would be interesting to see if they did start to look at that.
SpeakerYeah, absolutely. So how has your life changed for the better, since you have really understood karma?
Speaker 2As I said, I'm more patient. I'm more tolerant of other people's weaknesses, mistakes. I'm not as quick to blame. I'm in my old age, I become more patient. Finally, I become more patient.
SpeakerOh, you're funny. So if someone's going through, like a difficult situation right now, what advice would you give them to see things from a different level?
Speaker 2Most people are not gonna wanna hear this, but I'm gonna say this because I'm thinking of our nation right now and how divided we are politically. It's not just that people have different ideas politically, it's that if you don't believe what I believe, you're somehow my enemy. And we've never had that until very recently in our country. And I talk to clients a lot who are struggling with this. Oh, my brother-in-law is MAGA and I'm to the left and we can't even have dinner together anymore. We explode in arguments or whatever. And so one of the things that you can do in a stressful situation with somebody who's bothering your life in whatever area, whether it's your boss or neighbor or whatever, is to pray for them, is to send love to them. And this is difficult. Because if you're way anti maga, you don't wanna send love to these hateful people. And if you're MAGA, you don't wanna send love to those far left radical people. We are asked to love those who are different from us. If you're leading a spiritual life seeking to lift up to a higher level of energy, you, something is asked of you. And so I was doing a talk last night and one of the women said something about sometimes if you can't send that person love because you're so angry and you're so tense, see if you can find compassion in your heart for them.
SpeakerThat's a great
Speaker 2idea. You're unhappy at home and they're taking it out on you, and that's why they're so mean to you, or whatever it is. So I would say find as much love as you can and as much compassion as you can, and bring that to the forefront to help heal any issue that's bothering you right now.
SpeakerThat's great advice. Is there any other thoughts before we move on real quick that you would like to share about Karma that you feel like people really need to know or maybe misunderstand about Karma?
Speaker 2I'm just gonna say remember, karma is not punishment. It's powerful. The more karma that we can deal with here on earth, in, in the body, and the physical in this three dimension, the faster our soul grows. So if we didn't have any karma that we wanted to deal with, we wouldn't have come into this earth, you know? Trust me, you have something. I'll also remind people. I say reminds, I don't even know if people know this, but there's something called Instant Karma, and it is a spiritual blessing, and it means that when you come into this lifetime, you're not permitted to incur any additional karma. Meaning if you cut off a car in traffic, somebody's gonna cut you off. The karma is dealt within the same lifetime, so you're not carrying anything over. Plus, you're dealing with karma from other lifetimes. So that lifetime can be especially challenging. It can be especially difficult because the payoff can be especially powerful. So we can meet our karma anywhere in our life on the mental level, the emotional level, the physical level. Sometimes our body will hold our karma. The spiritual level. It is not a punishment, but it is a doorway to higher levels of consciousness, is what I would say.
SpeakerOkay. Excellent. So is there a book that helped you on your astrology journey that you could re recommend for one of our listeners if they just wanna dip their toes into, oh my
Speaker 2goodness,
Speakerastrology.
Speaker 2Very first astrology book I ever picked up was Linda Goodman's Sun Signs, and it's a classic, and I think it came out in the seventies, so it may have come out before a lot of people hearing this were born. And I love this book right now and I've had it from the seventies and the pages are yellow and the binding is cracked and I won't give it up cause it, it means so much to me. She wrote this book, sun Signs, and that's all the book talks about is the 12 sun signs. And I remember reading this and I read, tars went, oh my God, she's talking about my family. That's why they're like this. Like the light bulb went off.
SpeakerI understand my life now.
Speaker 2Yeah. A lot of people say astrology is too complicated. This book is just talking about the 12 son sons. That's all she's talking about. You don't have to know any math. There's nothing complicated. It just helps you understand that. And she breaks each sign into little sections. Leo as a father, Leo or Leo as a parent. Leo is a spouse or a partner lover. Leo is a child. Leo is an employee or boss. So you really get a snapshot of how the different signs are expressed through these different avenues in our life. So that is the number one book. If you're a little bit further down the road and already understands a little bit and wanna, move further, I would say look at Stephen Forests, the Inner Sky. Look at Isabelle Hickey, the Cosmic Science. Those are excellent books for somebody who maybe knows a little astrology and wants to go a little bit further. Not complicated, but take you a little bit past just the sun signs.
SpeakerExcellent.
Speaker 2But yeah.
SpeakerExcellent. We'll link those down below in the show notes. Oh my gosh. Susan, this has been such an inspiring conversation and so enlightening about things that most people never talk about. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. And where can people connect with you, follow you, learn more about what you do or book a reading?
